It’s (Pre Season) GAME DAY!! #4 Tampa Bay @ Miami

header            (Header from CBS Sports)

Game 4 of the Preseason.  This is the most important game for many of the guys on the team.  The ones who are working and hoping to make the team.  It’s their last opportunity to impress, to catch the eye of the coaching staff and make the team.  And if not the Dolphins, then perhaps another team will notice and pick them up after cuts are made.  For some, it may be the end of their hopes to be an NFL player.  I wish them all luck and thank them for their efforts.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

Without the Orange seats, the hurricanes will not fit in as well with their shade of green.

      • The Flying Pig says:

        they need their own stadium

      • Try Pod says:

Agreed- but the banana republic that is Miami Dade will never get that done- and Miami is a poor private school, comparatively. They’d need a much better booster system than the one they have in place now.

  2. stangerx says:

Abramson brings up a nice point. Our last five might not be easy…….but no cold weather either.

“Miami closes the season with four of five at home: hosting Baltimore and the Giants, traveling to San Diego and then finishing at home against the Colts and Patriots.”

    • The Flying Pig says:

I mentioned that when the schedule came out
No cold weather games is the first thing I look for…lol

    • The Flying Pig says:

the toughest part of that schedule is between week 8 and week 12
If we went 2-2 in that span I would be happy
      6-0 first six games
      2-2 next 4
      4-2 final 6 games

      that’s 12-4
      lets do it!

The suspension for Brady was never about being an advantage for the Dolphins to me, it was about the Pats shenanigans over the years and enough is enough.

    SB7MVP,
Glad to see you and your great sense of humor here.

    Trypod,
True on the Hurricanes home games. Maybe with today’s technology they can just find a way to filter the aqua color on screen with a green one LOL.

  8. Al in MIA says:

    Flying Pig,
The county/city politics in South Florida are a joke to be frank.
The most obvious site for a Canes stadium would be Tropical Park over the existing grounds of a football/track stadium that was just renovated (after 20 years of nothing) over the last 8 months for this new HS season.
They need to work on something there.

  9. finfanrob says:

    tim,

like all the hype for the season and what not. i am just a bottom line guy. bottom line brady got away with it. it is all a fucking joke.

i am really glad to hear the nfl is going to appeal the decision. i think that gives them some character.

  13. CavalierKong says:

    Jetsssuck,
How about my original question? Do you think Brady and the Patriots did nothing wrong and that “The deflator” really was just a term defining weight loss?

    • Tim Knight says:

LOL, how they forget all the lies leading up to this point.

      • CavalierKong says:

Right? I mean there aren’t a lot of people that thought the NFL handled this well, but the circumstantial evidence is plain to see. The idea that some stupid equipment guy is just going to decide to do this all himself is absurd. Not to mention the Pets FIRED him, lol.

    • jetsssuck says:

yes I believe he was nicknamed that for his weight. It could be also his nickname for preparing balls for inspection before games which teams are allowed to adjust to anything between 12.5 to 13.5 lbs. I don’t believe no one can deflate 10 balls in 1minute 40 seconds as the wells report says.I think he honestly went to the last bathroom before hitting the field. I know sometimes I spent a minute or two pissing and then adding washing my hands takes time. How anyone can deflate all the balls in the bag in 1.40minutes is very hard to do.The camera’s filmed him everywhere from the referee’s room to the bathroom and then the field and he was not filmed while the bathroom for 1 minute 40 seconds.

  16. Al in MIA says:

  17. Al in MIA says:

I still maintain as to why would Tom Brady discuss a reduction of penalty to 1 game (admit to taking even 1 game penalty) if there wasn’t some sense of rules violation on his part?

    How about my original question?

now that right there is ape like thinking. thinking a troll would have a rationale discussion with you.

  20. stangerx says:

Not sure if it was mentioned before, but Mando says the Phins are shopping Will Davis.

Not sure if that is good or bad. Putting aside the guy isn’t up to snuff…….seems they both think he might have trade value and that they like the guys they have going deep. Dude is on a rook contract.

  21. Rockphin says:

The NFL still hasn’t taken any additional measures for game balls before games.

Not true Jetsuck. I read an article the other day that laid out a substantial change to how game balls will be treated and protected. They have already instituted changes to prevent this from happening again. I cannot find the link right now.

Oh yeah they’re going to great lengths this year with officials and security personnel only moving the balls around.

but….but…..but….wait. why? i mean that is stupid. every pats fan along with every expert commentator has said that the psi in the footballs really doesnt matter. it really has no effect on the game. so why all the security?

  25. Rockphin says:

innocent man was being charged for doing nothing wrong. This is a victory for labor and being that labor day is close its a victory for all.

FUCK ALL! He is not innocent and the judges findings didn’t even address guilt or innocence. The NFL broke procedure that is all. The fucking piece of shit cheater told the attendants to let air out of the ball. You believe the BULLSHIT that the “deflator” was just loosing weight? Please. Party on Garth.

    • Tim Knight says:

That’s the same mentality that elects the liars and cheats into public office in this country. They believe the BS.

    • The Flying Pig says:

That is basically the long and short of it

      The NFL botched everything
if you can make any argument in favor of Brady, you can say “there was not string enough evidence to punish him”

But that is not exactly innocent

I think the best thing to the NFl to do is to drop this idea of an “investigation” everytime a contraversy appears

Its just makes a mountain out of a molehill
they could have easily treated this like too much pine tar on the bat and punished Brady

    • manitobafinfan says:

And would his destroying the phone not fall under this same heading ??

      • Mike E. says:

        Toba

That seems to get pushed aside somehow. Excellent point. The NFL tries to gather evidence, but it is stonewalled by the destroyed phone, but Brady should have been able to see what evidence was gathered against him. Bizarre.

  41. Mike E. says:

I thought that guy looked familiar. I never realized it was Brady doing those Geico commercials. lol

  42. drg says:

Like most cases where both sides have the means to appeal things endlessly, this has moved beyond whether laws/rules were broken and level of guilt. Everyone outside of Boston knows the patsies will use any means available to them if they think it gives them an edge and they can get away with it. Not totally different from a lot of members of the NFL, but they seem to excel at it better than anyone else. The fact that most people view their accomplishments with an asterisk is good enough for me. Let’s get on with football and move beyond this crap.

17-year-old Davon Luckett and 19-year-old Reed Williams pulled a gun on a juvenile near his school bus stop and robbed him of his “Chrome” Air Jordan VI Lows.

“You need to come up out of those shoes,” one of the robbers allegedly told the victim before cocking his gun. The men absconded with the kicks, which had just dropped last Saturday.

One of the perps posted pictures of the haul on social media. It didn’t take long for police to identify the men and issue arrest warrants, hitting both with felony aggravated assault and armed robbery charges.

BUT WAIT — it gets even worse. “Davon Luckett was wearing the stolen Jordan VI sneakers at the time of the arrest,”

    Stanger,
Big series between the Bucos and Cards this weekend! I never watch regular season MLB but I’m setting time aside to watch this series. It’s going to be fun.

Including this weekend the Cards still have 12 games left against the Pirates and Cubs.

    • Mike E. says:

All 3 teams are impressive. The Cards are just out of this world, but anything can happen in a series though, even a 7 game series.

      • CavalierKong says:

Cards are definitely beatable. Our pitching is great but our hitting is very streaky. And neither the Bucs nor the Cards want to get stuck in a one game playoff. This weekend is going to be a serious fight.

    • stangerx says:

Bigger series for us than you guys. Right now I’m worried about not getting swept by the Brewers tonight.

  53. D says:

There has been no exoneration of Brady, no vote of innocence, only proof that the Judge felt that the evidence supporting his guilt and the penalty levied did not seem consistent with one another. They rule to dismiss the 4 game suspension, which is different from saying he did’t deserve any suspension. They were not there to change the ruling but to determine if the ruling was just. All the talk of innocence is misplace, only one piece of evidence could have proven innocence and guilt and the person that would have benefited most from being proven innocent chose to destroy it instead of bringing it forward. The judgement of innocence can therefore only be reasoned out using common sense.

  54. D says:

Anyone think they let Suh/Wake/Mitchell/Vernon play a little in this game. Im really hoping to see them smash Jameis. I know we plan on sitting most of our starters, but sometimes they let the big guys go, like OL and DL for a few series, just to continue to gel as a unit.

Fred Jackson cut is stirring some stink in Buffalo it seems. Apparently the GM did this without really consulting with Ryan or Russ Brandon, the teams president. Now the cutting was his decision to make, but Ryan isnt use to not being in control of the moves made and a lot of backlash from cutting of such an favored player has brought a lot of scrutiny towards the administration from fans.

Damn can Rex go anywhere and bullshit not follow him lol. He’s already promising Superbowls and getting in a power-struggle with the GM.

      • jetsssuck says:

sort of sounds like jake long vs dallas in pre season. I think they will just line him up in a game situation without risking any contact. Let him get a couple of plays in to let him run on ankle to gain confidence going

  76. D says:

Im kinda waiting for the Barkley cut, id rather have Barkley than Moore with how Moore has played this PS. I think the coaches like him too, they apparently tried to work a trade for him before draft.

As an alternate plan I like Shane Carden too but only as a PS guy for this year. Keep Moore this year and see what we have in Carden next year. He is extremely good intermediate range passer, lacks a big arm so his deep passes are not as true, but given our offense works best off mid range, i dont think it would be a hindrance to eventually have him as a backup.
