Week 3 – Game 2 – N.O. Saints @ Miami Dolphins in London, Wembley Stadium

103116_london_CP2

After a crushing week for the Miami Dolphins, they get to “host” the New Orleans Saints in London at Wembley Stadium.  This has been a bizarre season already, with Hurricane Irma postponing Game 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, then flying to Los Angeles to play the Chargers in the Stub Hub Center, in which the capacity is just a little bigger than the Dolphins practice bubble (30,000 capacity).  We come out of Los Angeles with a victory by the skin of our teeth as Chargers kicker Younghoe Koo goes wide right attempting the game winning 44 yard FG.  Then we travel to New Jersey to face what everyone thought was the “tanking” NY Jets, the team seeking to get the 1st pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.  Well, surprise-surprise!  These NY Jets came to play, and though the Dolphins fanbase was present, with Dolfans NYC representing well with over a 1000 screaming Dolfans, along with the many other Dolphins fans that went on their own, they were all soon drowned out by a throaty NY crowd that smelled Dolphins blood in the water.  Attendance at Met Life was 77,562, and it was reportedly quite loud, especially compared to the paltry capacity of the Stub Hub Center in Cali.

Miami Dolphins v New York Jets

The Dolphins offense was completely over matched in all facets against the jets this past weekend.  We tried to run the ball, but there was no room anywhere, as the jets made it a priority to shut down Ajayi. When we gave up on the run game, and became one dimensional, neither jay Cutler, nor the O-line were up to the task, and the Jets defense that had previously swarmed Ajayi on every run was now all over Jay Cutler.  Cutler was sacked 3 times, but he was hit at least 3-4 times that during the game.  It was a bad game for Cutler, a bad game for the O-line, and a bad game for the defense, so basically, we got whipped in every area we could.  The Saints are coming off a blowout 34-13 win against the Carolina Panthers.  Cam Newton was worse than jay Cutler, throwing 3 INT’s and zero TD’s and our old Friend Ted Ginn Jr. caught a 40 YD TD for the Saints.

What can we expect from our team, who has had the strangest beginning to the 2017 NFL season?  I haven’t any idea.  Thankfully, the Saints don’t possess the defensive talent the NY Jets have.  They’re not horrendous, but they don’t have quite the talent of the Jets front 7.  The Saints play the 4-3 defense, led by LDE Cameron Jordan, 2nd year and former 1st RD pick (#12) DT Sheldon Rankins at DT, along with Tyeler Davidson and RDE Alex Okafor.  The Saints do have a quality LB in rookie Alex Anzalone (WLB), and fill it out with AJ Klein (SLB) and Craig Robertson (MLB).  Klein was picked up as a FA from Carolina, and Robertson picked up as a FA from Cleveland, so like Miami, they’re trying to throw pieces together to make it work.  Incidentally, as you all know, Stephone Anthony who the Dolphins traded for last week for a 2018 5th RD draft pick will get a chance to face his former team, as will WR Ted Ginn Jr.  The Saints have a decent secondary with corners Marshon Lattimore and PJ Williams, along with safeties Kenny Vaccaro and Marcus Williams.

The Saints offense is the strength of their team, led by QB Drew Brees, a fine young WR in Michael Thomas, the aforementioned WR Ted Ginn Jr., a good TE in Coby Fleener (AKA FleenAH), and a stable of capable RB’s including Mark Ingram, former Vikes great Adrian Peterson, and promising rookie Alvin Kamara.  The Saints so far are averaging 24.3 PPG, and are 3rd in the NFL in passing yards averaging 378.3 YPG.  See a problem there?  We just made an all-pro out of Josh McCown, so what will Drew Brees and the Saints offense do to us?  First of all, we have to have significantly better balance on offense.  Actually, forget balance, we just need to run the ball down their throats the entire game.  Ajayi is hurting, but he only had 11 carries this week, and I’d bet he’s hungry to have a big game.  I would also guess that we don’t want to put the game squarely on Jay Cutler’s severely diminished arm (Ha!), so this beleaguered O-line gets a shot at redemption by pushing the Saints defense all over the field.  This a “home” game, so hopefully we take advantage of that. On defense, we get a boost from the return of LB Lawrence Timmons from suspension, so hopefully his presence gives us a jolt.  The Saints packed up and left for London Sunday night after a celebratory dinner.  The Dolphins will be traveling to London on Friday.  We’ll see which strategy pays off.

GO DOLPHINS!  Zero in!

I know UK Fin Fan will be in attendance this Sunday, so let’s hope for his sake the Dolphins give him and us a great football Sunday!  We need it!

Salary at least had something to do with it when he got cut the year after making the Pro Bowl.
    ——————————————-
Salary which he is in control of. They wouldn’t have thought twice about it if he said ill play for league minimum. Still that’s a choice that has to be made, because of the thing i stated above. You don’t want to bounce around, you want to “rage against the dying of the light” you might have to rage with a lot less money in your pocket. Still there comes a time when its going to happen and you got no less money you can take to help your argument. Its a young mans world, those guys are just hanging on by threads at the end.

He’s still only like 33….but for sure he chose not to take the NFL min option at the time. He was like the highest paid punter in the league. And if Howie ever does predictions on who wins the next page turn….I’ll go with my boy D every time. 🙂

I get your point, but at least with burning their own NFL gear that they already paid, it’s not hurting anyone but themselves. Rioting and Looting, however, affects other people negatively.
    ——————————————-
True but if your burning shit in your community, your hurting your communities people. Might not be you specifically, but could be other people you aren’t mad at. I was mostly just analogizing, maybe poorly, because you do have a point.

  4. I think Trump should refund the NFL owners and players money they contributed to his campaign.
While contributing millions of dollars doesn’t guarantee any representation, at the very least the president shouldn’t be trying to needlessly divide the NFL , and threaten to send the NFL business to hell, when the country has MUCH more pressing needs.

  5. The NFL denied Trump a franchise, more than once, and kicked his ass in court when he tried to sue them for a monopoly, after trump destroyed the USFL.
Is Revenge to the NFL the real agenda here?

  7. D says:

Piggy, i personally dont have a lot NFL thing to say right now, but ill try.

Timmons being back doesn’t really excite me, and doesnt seem to excite Gase. My take away on that is that Gase still doesn’t like the circumstance or the excuse that was give. Gase is a no BS guy and i think he smells BS. It could be that he is like one of those guys who got burned by taking an EX back and just doesnt trust that if you fail me once you wont fail me again. He hasn’t seemed like that in previous circumstances though, so im leaning towards something being rotten in the city of Davie. If Timmons go on to have a great game, id be happy by that but i still dont know if him bring back would excite me. Hell maybe im one of those guys and i think he did one of the worst things you can do to your team, and that’s bail out on them. So without a great excuse, i dont know that i would be forgiving either.

I know it might have been a mental thing, the way they originally acted made me feel like maybe it was judging him too hard since signs were pointing to a peculiar action that maybe even he didn’t understand. As more details have come out though, my feeling on it has gotten worse, and Gases reaction to it certainly isnt helping. Just because he got re-instated after one game, does not mean they are cool with it, and they welcome him back eagerly. it might mean they found they had no evidence to extend it, without the NFLPA would get involved and get it overturned. That could be anywhere from they didn’t define the punishments well enough in the player conduct policy they have to give everyone in PS , to maybe not being able to refute his claims of why he did what he did, burden of proof and all that. So im pretty skeptical, and thats thee reason i really wanted to have them divulge more on the matter.

I am looking forward to seeing Anthony on a few plays, its kinda like a new toy you just want to unwrap the damn thing and get to using it. It might be better for him to hold off and i hope that they are smart about it whatever way they decide to go. I think there will be an emotional advantage for playing him, because he did seem pretty pissed about the fact they cut out on him.

Im hoping that Cutler bounces back as well, and am leaning toward believing he will. Im hoping Tunsil settles in, he is elite when it comes to movement skills and that’s what ya want in a LT, but its easier to adjust to the speed of the game at LG than LT, so i think maybe he is having a second rookie year so to speak. James is playing impressively, he deserves to be retained, though it would take a full season of elite play for me to think we should back the truck up for him.

Gase calls the offensive plays, but he might have handed off some of those responsibilities and maybe just helps design the play calls now. He seemed pissed at one of his coaches with regards to the “garbage offense”. That really did not seem directed at a player, so im curious to know exactly who is under the microscope.

Ok turns out i did, i lied.

      Lol

    • Good post, Tunsil does indeed need to pick it up at LT, and I believe He will.
We have great players, and a great coach, what cost us against the jests was lack of team focus.
The boys are out of their element, away from home, but stressed of home during the hurricane. They lost a home game, California then London, it’s gotta be a factor why we played so poorly last week.
Gase needs to get us past the adversities, kinda like last year, lol
We have seen him do it, it’s time to do it again and get the team refocused and come home with a Win!

Not to keep the ball rolling on the political discussion, but I just don’t see any “hate” being spewed anywhere on this board.
    ———–
I’m talking about the political vitriol/rhetoric/divisiveness being posted here in general — not direct attacks from or against anyone — over the last week or so. We’ve seen this movie before and it doesn’t end well. I’d suggest we all dial it back a few notches before hitting the post button, but that’s just me and my $.02.

I’m with the Pigster on this matter. I feel like we’re sitting on a few tons of TNT just waiting for someone to light a match, whether inadvertently or intentionally; I think we’d all rather see this situation deescalate.

And I don’t care if politics are discussed here whatsoever… I just think we should all (that includes ME) be a little more mindful and respectful of others and their opinions when discussing as much. If not, the ‘chin music’ that is being pitched will turn into a hit batsman… then we’ll have a bench-clearing brawl. That would NOT be productive, my Phin fan friends.

    GO PHINS!!!
    HELL YEAH!!!

Access to playboy could make you cool back in the day. One of my friends found a stack of like 20 of them getting thrown out when we were 11. He stashed them in the woods behind his house in a well-sealed garbage bag that he always covered with leafs. He was the most popular guy in school for a good six months. Wonder if his Mom ever figured out why everyone wanted to come to his house for a visit.

  21. pheloniusphish says:

Piggy – I said I would try to recreate my thoughts on your post a couple of days ago, so here goes with some additional commentary based on some other posts since.

If I read your post correctly, you were asking me why I was trying to get to the cause of the protest, rather than accept what the protesters said was the reason. The why is simple – can’t solve the problem if you don’t know or admit what is causing it. The stated reason is “social injustice” based on blacks being shot in confrontations with the police. First the elephant in the room – we are talking about blacks, not any other race in this instance. Not Hispanics, not Caucasians, not Asians, not Native Americans…blacks. So why are blacks being shot in these events at a higher rate than other races? Are they being targeted because of skin color? Is it happening more than previously?
The numbers indicate that it happens more often to black men because they are responsible for committing more crimes, particularly violent crimes and robberies. “In 2015, police killings of blacks accounted for approximately 4 percent of homicides of blacks. Police killings of unarmed blacks accounted for approximately 0.6 percent of homicides of blacks. The overwhelming majority of black homicide victims (93 percent from 1980 to 2008) were killed by blacks.” (https://2kpcwh2r7phz1nq4jj237m22-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Color-Of-Crime-2016.pdf) Pretty simple – criminals get face-to-face with cops more. If you are a criminal and you resist arrest, you increase the likelihood of being shot. In nearly all of the incidents being protested, the shootee was engaged in a criminal activity, then violently resisted arrest, then became shot.

So, I don’t accept the stated reason for the protests as “social injustice.” What they are protesting is a lack of acceptance and individual responsibility. Mainstream society does not accept their behavior and culture as normal. No one has been deprived of any of their rights. They have been responsible for putting themselves into increasingly dangerous circumstances that eventually reached the ultimate conclusion. It’s very straightforward – Don’t be a criminal, it is a dangerous line of work. If you are a criminal and you get caught, don’t resist arrest. If you resist arrest, expect that you may be shot.

The reason this is happening (in my mind) is culture and until it is addressed – by blacks – it won’t change. Someone mentioned the hyphenated identifier. Society didn’t do that, blacks did. When you say African-American to me, I think of an American who has immigrated to Africa. Like hen’s teeth, those are extremely rare and hard to find. To me everyone is either an American or a foreigner. Blacks have created a culture of misogyny, dis-respect for themselves and others, and glorification of violence, drugs and crime that is racially self-destructive. It is said that music is a window into the soul of a culture – look no further than the prevalent music listened to by black youth. Look to the rioting and looting and burning of their neighbors’ business during the “protests.” (of course, I’m not just talking about the kneelers).

As for the NFL kneelers, it doesn’t bother me that much anymore. One, because the NFL was paid by the armed services to play the anthem starting in 2009 for recruiting purposes. So, no one should expect the NFL to be patriotic to anything but the all mighty dollar. Two because when they play it, there are dopes running all over the stadium drinking, making noise, and generally being dis-respectful ass wipes. I don’t like it because I have fought for that flag and lost friends in the fight and because it is based on a false premise. I would just as soon they went back to not playing it, but I suspect they have painted themselves into a corner.

That’s all for the protests. As for the President Trump (yeah, roll that around on your tongues, because that is what he is) bashing I don’t know what to tell you. Someone said he wants to “stop the flow of brown people into the US” – I would say he wants to stop illegal immigration and there is nothing wrong with that. Someone else said he hasn’t done anything for the country – as a small business owner and an employer, I would say he has made my life better. A whole bunch of you have said he is a racist – To be blunt, I would say that is the kind of low-information, partisanship that got you Trump to begin with. To those whose first response to ideas counter to their own is to label someone racist…well you can’t fix stupid. It’s like arguing with those who think 9/11 was an inside job.

    • The Flying Pig says:

Yes – you understood what I was asking

That’s a good explanation of your thought process and it’s a lot of good points. I particularly agreed with your reference to why it doesn’t bother you anymore. The fact that it started as a result of a PR campaign weighs heavily on my feelings as well.

You need to wait a couple of days now for my entire response…lol

    • Thanks for agreeing that the root issue isn’t about the flag.
The reason he gets labeled a racist is because he reveals his true colors, and living in a glass house, it gets noticed in his tweets and actions

    • Tim Knight says:

You said what many people won’t say in fear of being labeled a racist. Look at the homicide rates in Chicago. It’s absurd and sad. Innocent people including children get caught in the cross fire. The leaders of these inner city communities need to change what they’re doing because what they’re doing ain’t working.

      • The Flying Pig says:

But you see Tim, reasonable people like me would NOT call that racist
But I call Trump a racist.

There is a way to approach these issues without being racist and IMO Trump fails…but you know what, don’t get me started. I’m trying to be less political today

      • Tim Knight says:

It’s beyond Trump just like Obama couldn’t stop it. It has to start locally. The only thing a president can do is to implement marshall law and nobody wants to live like that. But living in a violent crime ridden area isn’t fair to a lot of people either.

  22. Rockphin says:

To stay on a foot ball topic I decided to look at some stats so far for the year. you all want some Koolaid?

through to games Miami Run Defense has been a complete 180 from last year. (I KNOW it’s only two games)

Miami is ranked 2nd in rush yards (granted one game less than everybody else)
Miami is ranked 6th in points per game allowed
Miami is ranked 4th in rush yard average at 3.1 allowed
Miami is ranked 5th in rush yards per game allowed.
Much better so far than we did last year.

Now clear the table because I am going to stand on it and squat over the punch bowl to shit a turd in that Koolaid.

Miami is DEAD last in the league in pass percentage allowed. 79% SEVENTY FUCKING NINE percent of the passes thrown against our D have been completed.
Miami is DEAD last in yards per pass play allowed at 7.9
Miami is DEAD last in passer rating allowed at 116.4
so I can say that a LOT of the better performance against the run has to do with the teams we’ve played being able to pass at will on us.

The good thing? ………Wait, I’m still thinking ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….Oh, yeah, we are still top 10 in points allowed even though teams can throw at will against us, not so much in the red zone.

Sorry to diarrhea all in the punch. (in my Forest Gump “sorry to break up your black panther party” voice.

  27. There are a lot of problems in Chicago, inner cities, hell damn near everywhere, Houston, Florida, Pierto Rico, immigration, health care, tax reform that doesn’t benefit the rich and deplete the treasury, and not to mention North Korea and other problems.

Someone needs to do something about all these problems from the leadership position, that isn’t obama or Hillary, it’s time for the self proclaimed and extreme ballyhooed greatest deal maker to make these incomplete deals reality.

Just bash the NFL , and point fingers at everyone else for nothing getting done.

  28. Mike E. says:

If any of you saw the show “The Wire”, that was an excellent depiction of what Phelon is talking about. A vicious cycle of drugs, violence, and poverty in the inner cities, except for those in the drug trade who lived large, until they got dead.

    • Mike E. says:

In the show it was Baltimore, but I’m sure the same thing is prevalent in many inner cities across America, especially Chicago.

    • Tim Knight says:

I only caught some of that show but I know people who saw all of it and they said it was intense and very sad. Phish hit the nail on the head. The data is there, it’s not made up but too many people blame everything else for its cause and that’s why it doesn’t change.

It was very sad, but it was so well done, and really accurate. It was a great series, all the way through to the end. The same producer is now doing “The Deuce” on HBO. A lot of the cast from “The Wire” are in it.

  34. sb7mvp says:

Also, the discussion of crime and inner cities that is going on is something I don’t have the time to get into, but there’s a lot of correlation/causation problems with the stats and anecdotes being used. It’s funny that Mike E mentioned The Wire, because sometime in the last two years an article was written with the guy who created the show…David Simon he’s a real big liberal and in it he identifies how government created the problems they have in regards to the way that law enforcement deals with citizens and crime in the inner city of Baltimore.

    https://www.themarshallproject.org/2015/04/29/david-simon-on-baltimore-s-anguish

Full disclosure…I don’t like this guy for other reasons, but this article re-enforced it. He saw first hand what the issues were and he’s willing to support people politically who he openly admits were the big problem. I don’t think the message should get lost though.

    • Tim Knight says:

No doubt government played/plays a major role in its cause and should play a major role in restoring it. Corruption plays a big part in it as does organized crime.

It’s crazy and ya can’t make this up: part of the deal with Bill Clinton giving North Korea the $$$ to build their nuclear program (which began with plutonium, not uranium) included an autographed basketball by Michael Jordan. For whatever reason, Kim Jong-il (father of Kim Jong-un) was infatuated with the Chicago Bulls. And of course, Dennis Rodman was a part of that Bulls team.

And on the other hand, Dennis Rodman IS good friends with President Trump… stemming back to their days on “Celebrity Apprentice”.

That was quite a long interview, but no doubt, he got those points across in the show. The frustration of everyone involved was intense. The politicians wanted good stats, the police wanted more pay and OT, and the drug dealers just wanted more and more, investing in legit businesses and real estate, and then when crime increased, the politicians cut the police budgets to pay for other things, and the police got more frustrated. LB Rey Maualuga: “He’s getting close. I’m not going to put a timetable on it.”

    Last in points per game
    Last in total points
    Last in yards allowed
    Last in TD’s allowed
2nd to last in first downs allowed
2nd to last in passer rating allowed (behind the last place Dolphins)
2nd to last in rush yard average allowed

Good thing for them they have scored 99 points so far this year while giving up 95. only the Rams..(THE RAMS?) have scored more points than the Pats this year.

  45. steveccnv says:

Phish pretty much hit the nail on the head, but statistic and cops killing blacks isn’t what this is all about from a black standpoint. It’s about oppression, and that won’t stop until the black criminal rates go down. Good black citizens that have never done anything illegal face it as well.

    • steveccnv says:

The problem is fear, cops fear black people in certain situations, and that won’t change until blacks in general clean up the hoodlum behavior.

Someone else said he hasn’t done anything for the country – as a small business owner and an employer, I would say he has made my life better.

Phelon, can you site one example of anything, ANYTHING he has accomplished that has “made your life better”? I’m just curious because even watching Fox I cannot point to a single piece of legislation that he has sponsored that has passed or one executive order that he has signed that has changed anything, anything at all when it comes to business.

I’m not trying to start or stir shit here. I am embarrassed on a daily basis by “letting that roll around on my tongue, because that is what he is”

I have this same conversation with my boss on a weekly basis and he can’t come up with anything either when I put him on the spot. Most of the “economic prosperity” my company is enjoying right now is a result of the last administrations policies. There are several others. Probably just as important is the atmosphere and attitude in government. Plus, while he can’t pass legislation he is at least trying. The ACA is disastrous for small businesses as is the tax code. If the current try at tax reform passes is will directly impact my bottom line.

    • Rockphin says:

  61. ACA has not been disastrous to my businesses either. It was the best insurance I ever had until the subsidy went away and the premiums are 1500 a month, before only 93 a month.
Health insurance , or lack of it can’t really make or break too many businesses IMO
It does help to have affordable insurance, obviously. Some of us are looking for an alternative to ACA, but haven’t found it yet

  62. I was one of the first group to lose subsidies, the upper end of the income based scale on subsidies.
Most people on ACA are still receiving their subs for the time being, but the ones cut off are left with no viable replacement, so We are now forced to pay exorbitant rates, or go without insurance altogether.

I never asked or wanted subs, it was mandated on Me, but I do ask now,
If we can’t receive subs, can Someone or somebody please give us an affordable alternative?

There are a lot of “structurally gifted” coeds at the USF HOOTERS!

  74. pheloniusphish says:

Piggy/David – ACA work for you because you are talking about insuring yourselves. I’m sure it is great. I have 40 employees and I can’t afford to give them the coverage that I would like to because ACA has driven rates thru the roof.

Rock – You can scoff at reporting requirements, but reducing even those makes a difference. And there is more to it than just reports. People are traveling more (good for my business) and spending money. Government agencies are being led by people who are willing to shrink their agencies footprint and push more business to the private sector. All good for me.

Look, it’s pretty obvious that if President Trump turned water to wine and cured lepers you and David and others would find fault with it. But that’s okay. Partisanship has reached a point that people wish for failure instead of hoping for success. The upside to that is he can do stupid shit like tweet about the NFL without worrying about the votes of those who would never vote for him anyway.

    • Tim Knight says:

Hillary is the reason Trump won. People were tired of the same old names and establishment candidates and some of it was a fear of more Obama policies being same party. My hope is and I don’t have a lot of confidence it will happen, would be that in the not so near future we have at least one candidate that doesn’t outrage everyone and the office can be respected again because it hasn’t been for quite some time. I’d rather see debates on policies between the parties again rather than calling one a lunatic and the other a criminal. That shit has to end.

  75. D says:

I was thinking about how our corners have been playing and we sure haven’t played much press this year, even though we did toward the end of the year last year. There seems to be a more off man strategy this year. Thats probably why we don’t see Maxwell or Howard doing very good. Howard and Maxwell are more press-zone guys, although Howard doesn’t look too lost out there in man coveragee and has the ability to correct and get back into coverage when he messes up. I know our entire secondary is looking awful, and i think Maxwell is a fish out of water right now. Maybe we should look to swap him to a team with a similar problem having a man cover corner but needing a press guy.

    • Tim Knight says:

Maxwell starts off looking like shit every year it seems than he plays really well for a nice stretch before getting hurt. Did the same thing in Philly and with us last year. Let’s hope the same thing happens without the being hurt part. 🙂

    • pheloniusphish says:

Burke seems to want them to play tighter.

  76. Phew, i went from having affordable insurance to not. So, I don’t expect water to wine, just water for water, lol
Yes ACA can be different for different businesses, and it’s complex, I only related from a personal level.
I don’t wish for the prez to fail, instead I wish he knew how to succeed so We all could benefit

  77. D says:

So some straight A majors in anatomical engineering OD?

  78. pheloniusphish says:

David – You can’t blame President Trump for your rate increases. Not a single thing about the law has changed in the last 9 months. The collapse of the ACA is happening because it was always a bad law and unsustainable.

    • D says:

This part is true, nothing the republicans have put into place has even kicked in yet. You might have some insurance companies teeing things up in preparation but if so its more on them than any policies that are being handed down by the current administration.

    • When it was maintained properly, it worked great for Me. The president promised to repeal and replace with something far better, lower premiums, etc.
If ACA was so bad, it should be cake to replace it, otherwise don’t promise you have something far better to get votes, and after receiving votes, oops I ain’t got shit.
Obama isn’t here to fix or do anything with insurance, it’s up to Trump to deliver what he promised , buck stops there

  79. D says:

“Look, it’s pretty obvious that if President Trump turned water to wine and cured lepers you and David and others would find fault with it. But that’s okay. ————————————————————————–
I can say with 100% assurance that i would be glad to have him 180 and make us proud to call him our President, i think he is a really long way from curing lepers or turning water to wine though. He also seems to be devolving instead of improving. I kind of expected he would be a slow starter (as you would expect from someone who is learning the political process as he goes) and kind of grow into the position. I wasn’t optimistic it would be much growth, i didnt like him to begin with, but i was hopeful, but im just not seeing it. I do think though he is losing some of the people who might have voted for him but have been on the fence up until the election day. I think that there are people that are kinda where i am, except they are now a little frustrated they voted for him and didn’t abstain like i did.

    • steveccnv says:

I can’t comment on the ACA since I’m covered by my employer, nothing really is changed for me in that regard. But I can tell you one thing for sure, my 401k has certainly had big gains since January. Who’s to say why? I’m just happy it did.

    • D says:

My company is self-insured, we only pay the insurance companies a flat rate to negotiate the payout on the procedures. The shit can go up, down sideways, etc and we pretty much are right at the same spot.

  81. Tim Knight says:

We definitely play some press man at times. I’ve seen us line up with all 3 corners on their man at the LOS. It’s when we play off on the edges to not allow sideline passes both the Chargers and Jets ran crossing routes inside of them across the LBs and that’s where the high pct. of passes we’ve been allowing to be completed. I’ve noticed we’re playing our safeties deep a lot too. The players have to tighten up their reads more than the way they line up IMO.

Read somewhere on the internet today that the Dolphins have allowed 79 per cent of the passes against them to be completed in their first two games, which is DEAD LAST in the NFL. CB Xavien Howard was targeted a league-high 13 times in Week 2 and allowed 10 receptions for 87 yards on the afternoon (also a league-high). His overall grade of 46.8 ranked 62nd of all CBs in Week 2.

    • Tim Knight says:

Low yardage though. It’s when it gets to around 15 YPC that’s when you worry. That’s why PFF grades are not even worthy.

      • Rockphin says:

dude, allowing a 76.9% completion rating in your area sucks. there is not ‘buts” about it. that’s where the passes were thrown. even at 8.7 yards per pass play ave that’s a first down every two plays. (I know they are not all consecutive, etc) He and Maxwell were awful both games.

      • Tim Knight says:

We’ve allowed 37 pts in two games. The offense didn’t show up last week. Howard has been fine. No big plays. Maxwell has been worse. But still the end result on defense has been not a lot of points allowed.

The article said that after every further question he was asked, he jus gave a variant of that same reply. They said he said the word Happy 19 times in a 2 minute conversation lol.

They said in week 1 he had said to his former teammates that he wish he had never left for Miami, but that could also be out of context, as it could have been man i wish i was still playing with you guys, meaning he missed his teammates.

Its a wierd thing, and im still not sure i feel good about it. I mean if he is such a man of character or a tough guy, why not just explain it so people will understand. I mean i could get a guy saying to his buddies he wished he could be back playing with them, and so could a lot of people, he was asked about that directly, why not just answer.

Whatever happened tat made him want to run back to Pittsburgh the night before gameday, own it as a human frailty and just let people relate and get past it. The avoidance of owning it just makes a lot of people, me included, think it seems fishy.
