2018 NFL Draft – Tight End

The 2018 NFL Draft is just 2 days away!  What better time to take a look at a position the Miami Dolphins have largely ignored or failed to adequately fill in over a decade!  Nope, not QB, although I’m sure some of you feel that way, no it’s TE!  If you just look at the names we’ve had in at TE it doesn’t seem nearly as bad, but trust me, we didn’t have that player when they were producing or healthy.  Julius Thomas, Jordan Cameron, Dion Sims, Charles Clay,  Anthony Fasano, David Martin and finally Randy McMichael.  McMichael was our best TE out of this group, and David Martin was a nice #2 TE, but the rest, fughettaboutit!  It’s time to change that, and this particular draft has pretty decent depth, and I’d feel pretty comfortable with at least 3 prospects, so we do have a chance of finally drafting a TE early that will help this offense and make a major impact as a receiver.

Mike Gesicki  6’5 247 Penn State

web-Kent-State-v-Penn-State-5

Mike Gesicki would be my first choice at TE.  He’s not the best blocker at this point, in fact, he may be the player least likely to block, but I do think he may be the most dangerous receiver at TE.  You can teach a player to block, but you can’t teach speed and athleticism, and Mike Gesicki has that in spades.  At 6’5 247, with long 34″ arms, Gesicki ran the 40 in 4.54 seconds, put up 22 reps of 225, had an amazing 41.5″ vertical, a very fast 4.1 20 YD shuttle, and a 129″ broad jump.  This kid screams explosiveness. Gesicki made his presence felt as a Junior at Penn State, and had his breakout season.  He finished with 48 receptions for 679 yards and 5 TD’s, a very nice 14.5YPR.  In his Senior season, Gesicki caught 57 passes for 563 yards and 9 TD’s.   Mike Gesicki is the highest rated TE at NFL.com by a slight margin at 5.92.  Besides the long arms, at the end of those long arms are some big mitts, 10 1/8″ mitts.  I think Gesicki could be the missing piece that gets our offense going.  Having that fast TE threatening the seam will open things for our running backs, and also our other receivers.  We haven’t had a TE commanding any attention in far too long.

*********************************************************************

Hayden Hurst 6’4 250  South Carolina

Hayden-Hurst-1_ikqap0

Hurst is also a very athletic TE prospect,  He was actually in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization as a pitcher, but left baseball and walked on at S. Carolina as a TE.  Hurst finally got his big chance his Sophomore year, and he took advantage of that chance and finished the season with 48 catches for 616 yards and a TD.  His Junior year was pretty consistent with his last season, 44 catches for 559 yards and 2 TD’s.  The one negative about Hurst is he will be a relatively old rookie at 25 years old.  Hurst did well at the combine as well, though not as good as Gesicki, running a 4.67 40, and a 31.5″ vertical.  Hurst is a better blocker than Gesicki, and at least has blocked, unlike Gesicki who is mainly used as a receiver.  Hurst has very good hands, registering only 1 drop against 100 receptions.  Hurst is rated at 5.90, 2nd highest rated TE.

***********************************************************************

Dallas Goedert 6’5 255  South Dakota State

20481605-23940311

Dallas Goedert has a lot of receptions on his resume, and many of them one handed acrobatic grabs as he is pictured making above.  He’s got talent, and although he’s Rock’s favorite, he worries me a bit.  First off, he played at South Dakota St. where he was a man among boys.  The guy covering him in that pic above looks smaller than me!  This is what worries me, he hasn’t played against tough coverage, and bigger defenders, and he surely will in the NFL.  An average LB in the NFL will likely be heads and shoulders better than anything he’s faced in college, so I think he has some challenges ahead of him. Goedert didn’t run the 40 at the combine or his pro day due to a hamstring injury, but he did some drills at his pro day.  Dallas had a nice 35″ vertical and a 10.1′ broad jump.  He also ran a nice 4.06 in the 20 YD shuttle, as well as a quick 6.87 in the 3 cone drill.  Goedert’s best season was his Junior year where he caught 92 passes for 1293 yards and 11 TD’s.   He’s rated as the 3rd best TE by NFL.com at 5.87

***************************************************************

Ian Thomas  6’4 259  Indiana

Ian-Thomas

Thomas is one of the more well rounded TE’s in the draft.  He’s a good receiver as well as a good blocker as an in line TE.  He doesn’t have great speed, but he’s fast enough.  He actually has a remarkable story as far his upbringing, after losing both his parents at 9 years, and being raised by siblings.  He’s known as “Humble and focused” at Indiana,  and scouts say he loves football.  Thomas had his best season as a Senior after he transferred from community college a year earlier.  He caught 25 passes for 376 yards and 5 TD’s.  Although he didn’t perform the bench press at the combine or his pro day, Thomas is considered a powerful athlete. He has good run after the catch ability and is very physical separating from would  be tacklers.  Thomas does need coaching on route running and may have some more upside in that regard.  Thomas is somewhat of an unfinished product having played only 2 seasons, really 1 full season of college ball.  Thomas is rated at 5.82 at NFL.com

*****************************************************************

Dalton Schultz  6’6 242  Stanford

845121998-e1514925620521

Schultz is actually at the other end of the spectrum from what I want for the Dolphins, because his actually a better blocking TE than receiver.  He may be one of the best blockers at TE in this draft.  His receiving stats are relatively dismal, his Senior year totals were 22 catches for 212 yards and 3 TD’s.  He wouldn’t be the guy I’d want as our 1st TE, but I wouldn’t mind him as our 2nd TE, with Gesicki spread out or in the slot.  He was a big part of the run game at Stanford and relied heavily as a run blocker.  He has the size, and I’m sure he’ll add even more weight once he hits a regular NFL lifting routine.  He’s expected to go around the 3rd or 4th RD, and honestly I wouldn’t mind doubling up on TE’s, although MarQueis Gray isn’t bad as a 2nd TE as a blocker either.  Schultz is rated at 5.70 at NFL.com

************************************************************

I know some of you have your favorites later in the draft, but I think it’s crucial to our team’s success that we get one of the top TE prospects in this draft, meaning IMO either Gesicki, Hurst or Goedert.  I feel if they pass on these guys, we’ll end with yet another JAG at the TE position, continuing the tradition here in MIA of ignoring the TE position.

PS – If you intend on attending this year’s Fest game, please vote on the poll on the right side underneath the 2018 schedule.  This way we can choose a date early and get those reservations taken care of!  Thanks, and happy voting!

Jackson, Moore, Sutton, Hernandez and Guice went way early on our board.

      Lamar Jackson that is

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      Guice went late on mine…lol

I really like DJ Moore too
But I thought he went early

    • naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

possibly , but 32 picks had to be made. Who would you have subbed in for those 5?
Michel for Guice? Brown or Wynn for ??

Teams love picking WRs in the 1st round.
They always go higher than deserved, just like QBs.

And Jackson to Arizona is a sneaker perfect pick with glass bone Bradford to teach him how to play QB from his barcalounger.

By and large we had the right players but probably out of order of what they’ll go and maybe a TE or DE pushes Miller and Daniels into the 2nd

  2. Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

I think that you can switch Price and Miller and that would fix it!
Not like they can’t wait a while!!!!!!!

  3. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I do have a feeling we are going to see one of those picks that no one saw coming in the first 10 picks

        Yeah that would be great
The only thing I hate is if it means all of our division rivals get young QBs

        I like Edmunds a lot
        But I almost took Rosen

I’ve also read rumors that a Michel has overtaken Guice as RB2

Also if the draft went like this
I might wait in TE until round 3 and take a DT in round 2

Would be interesting to take a LB and DT with our first 2 picks
With all our pass rushers and a good secondary – could be difference makers for us

Looking at that list, hey man, a lot of good shit is left. Price and Wynn and Ragnow, 6 quality TEs , 5 or 6 quality RBs, Maurice Hurst, Reid at Safety, Jerome Baker, Darius Leonard, Owusu, Braden Smith, Sam Hubbard, plenty to choose from.

    SIX TIGHT ENDS!!! Rashaad Penny!!!

    • son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

For each pick we all (whoever was on) picked who we thought and then went with the consensus of the five or so picks for that teams selection.

  15. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

    Woooo hooooooo! Edmonds!

  16. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I cannot wait for son’s reaction live at the real draft

  17. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

So I went back and read the last page as you made the pics live but tell the truth did any of you guys fudge your pics for the first 10 teams to push a player you wanted down to us?

  18. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I have a feeling that pick 10 is going to go exactly like that- screwing us out of Smith. I love Roquon. I would trade up to 9 to get him. He can be the difference maker at LB that we have been looking for since Zach left. It’s worth it IMO.

  19. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Also, as far as Sony jumping to #2 RB, I heard yesterday that there may be some medical concerns with him- probably his knee. Now, that could be a smokescreen, but it was reported that multiple teams had concerns.

  20. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Additionally, I am setting myself up to have a melt down that exceeds the one I had when the Dolphins drafted Dion Fuckface Jordan. I want Smith and Gesicki, and nothing else will satisfy me ok Thursday and Friday. I don’t know why I do this to myself…

  21. son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

Rock, most of those guys absolutely have a set mock in their minds. In many cases I didn’t see the best player going and in the top 10 that’s how the NFL drafts. Also no trades skew what will actually happen.

  22. Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

  23. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Just read an article that said if Barkley drops to 5 watch for the Dolphins to make a move. This is not helping me, because now I’ve played out the scenario of us trading up for him and my son and I jumping up and hugging in the living room.

    • pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

Hmmm….I can’t see anyone trading up that far for a running back. But that’s just me. RB have such a short shelf life and are pretty easy to find later.

      • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I hear you, but I’m a huge Penn St. fan, so I would welcome that trade. We are constantly disappointed with most of our draft picks, so I may as well pull for Nittany Lions to get drafted by us!

      • pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

Lol…That is as good an approach as any other on the board.

  24. pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

I don’t mind trading up, but if they do it had better be for a transformational player. I don’t know if there is one of those in this draft. Overall, I think the whole draft class is just meh, but the NFL and their partners need to pump it up to keep the cash flowing.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I wouldn’t mind trading up a little for Smith. Next years LB prospects are pretty weak. Josey Jewell in the 3rd could work as well, but I really want Smith.

  25. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

I would love to get Barkely!

  26. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

NO trade up! there are not any transformational players in this draft. (that is a NEW word by the way Phellon. It did not exist before you coined it.

  27. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I like Edmunds because he is so young and such a physical freak, but still pretty damn good at his position while Smith is more “maxed out” (not that he is, but you get what I’m saying) .

  28. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Son, not all teams take BPA. there are many reaches for need and many more for private man crushes (team / front office man crushes)

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

besides who you think is BPA and who a team thinks is BPA are two completely different things. (miami likes tanny)

  29. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

  31. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Hard to believe we’d leave Rosen for the Bills, either take him or trade it to Az. Otherwise, you guys know a hell of a lot more than me about nonpossible Phins selectees.

  32. pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

Rock – I would love to take credit for creating the word “transformational,” but I’m afraid it existed before I used it here.

  33. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I am interested to see where the “top 4” QB’s go this year and to track them for a couple of seasons to see how they actually work out and also which of the “lower tier” guys work out better than the supposed “top 4”

  34. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I gotta laugh at these articles, including the Josh Rosen’s stock is dropping. Teams boards are set. Unless there is a medical red flag recently found out, they are not rearranging their boards the day before the draft when they have put years of work into getting to this point. If a team is really doing that, they’re probably not a successful team. Rosen isn’t dropping, and neither is any other healthy player not accused of a crime. It’s silly talk.

  35. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Besides Rosen is a UCLA QB – Mediocre to bust all over that.

  36. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I really wanted the fins to take Quinn when he dropped. (HMHIS)

  37. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

of course my hope is any QB taken by the AFCE (unless we do, duh) is a bust.

  38. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Mike, when Brady started dropping like a stone I was like no way, no way, no way…..come onnnn……YES! What!!????? Ted Ginn??? WHO!???? WTF!!

slam, smash, break, smash rattle rattle rattle…….

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I remember that draft more than most, because I was at work, and we had a TV in the waiting room, it was Saturday morning, and the whole staff there knew how hyped I was, and they knew I wanted the QB, and my friend Dawn at the front desk knew I wanted Brady Quinn, and she thought he was hot, and she felt bad for him sitting there getting so disappointed. I actually jumped out of my chair and screamed Ted Ginn!!! You gotta be kidding me!!!

  39. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I think we should try to do another mock draft, but this time allow trades, to see if we can get a more realistic product. Let me know if anyone would like to participate today.

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

the problem with that is you need to assign certain people to be a team designee or anyone can say TRADE! and screw it up.

I can’t play today. I am killing time before a meeting that was delayed. Then I will be back at it for the rest of the day.

I’d be OK making the trade with AZ if both Smith and Edmunds are off the board!
We cold pick up LB LEIGHTON VANDER ESCH?

But Edmunds was there so IMHO you have to take him

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

  44. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Awesome job on the FU draft (especially M13)….and am sure Bills fans would like Rosen at #13 a bunch too. Got that no trades has to be part of doing one….but I think Bills will be somewhere north when they pick. But since you guys passed on Rosen, that should mean one more option. Maybe Smith.

  45. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

is the talent that much better at 11 than at the end of the first?

    • rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

If we assume all 4 of the top QBs go in the top 10, there is going to be someone falling to us who should start from day 1. …Barkley, Chubb, Nelson, Smith, Edmunds, Ward, or Fitzpatrick will be there at #11.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

There are 4 athletic freak prospects: Allen at QB, Barkley at RB, Chubb at DE and Nelson at OG. You then have to figure in the other 3 remaining prospects at QB. After them there are a couple of other special prospects: Fitzpatrick at DB, Smith atLB, Edmunds atLB, James at S.

So that makes 11 elite prospects imo. After that they even out considerably

      • rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

Not to mention a player like Vea or McGlinchey possibly sneaking into the top 10, which would gives us more than 1 of those elite prospects to choose from.

      • rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

I think the cut off this year is the first 12 picks, after that it starts to level out.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Yes top 12 on talent, but if I really wanted a DT I’d increase it to 14 with Vea and Payne, both those guys are worthy.

  46. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

“Shooting up the draft boards? I would say McGlinchey, the tackle, probably goes higher than we think. I think Edmunds is a sure top-ten pick, who everybody loves. I literally haven’t had anyone say a bad word about him, I think he definitely goes in the top ten. And I think Denzel Ward will go higher than people think.”
    — Ian Rapoport

  47. rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

If I had to rank them, here’s my top 8 prospects.

    1. Saquon Barkley- RB
    2. Quenton Nelson- OG
    3. Bradley Chubb- DE
    4. Minkah Fitzpatrick- DB
    5. Roquan Smith- LB
    6. Tremaine Edmunds- LB
    7. Denzel Ward- CB
    8. Derwin James- S

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

We really don’t need a CB, but if the 4 QBs are gone I can’t see us passing on Ward. I’d add him to the freak talent list.

After watching the mock draft done live on ESPN yesterday by local beat reporters of each team, I expect Edmunds to go no higher than 12.

I think the only thing about the mock that stuck out to me, besides allowing that QB to drop to a rival, was Green Bay drafting a WR in the first round. The NYG are going to have a great opportunity to get a great RB at pick #34, so why would they take Barkley, where the drop off at pass rusher is so much larger. I can almost guarantee you if they aren’t taking a QB, they’re taking DE Bradley Chubb. They can probably have their choice of either Derrius Guice, Ronald Jones or Sony Michel at pick #34

  61. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Rob – That was my point – I can’t imagine that Denver has a high value of Andre Branch. Now Ja’Wuan James might be the guy they’re interested, but I don’t think we’re trading up for Barkley because he’ll be gone at pick #4.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

      Bite your tongue Michael!!!!!!!

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

C’mon Bri – You have to figure the Browns are going to take their QB at #1, and then grab Barkley at #4. Talk about turning around a franchise, getting a franchise QB and a generational type RB. Can’t see how that doesn’t happen. I know you love Barkley, can we please just Gesicki? That’s who we REALLY need!

    • ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

I know they’re interested in James but i don’t think Miami is interested in parting ways with James, their most glaring need is at CB which they can maybe fill at 11, then DE/edge rusher, then OL, they trade down get their edge rusher, CB and still have another pick

  62. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Sb – That’s probably smart. I get all hyped up every year, and every year, disappointed. Gosh darn Mikey Tradey Pants is going to let me down again . . .

Thats what i said this morning about this board’s mock draft, and in a few hours I’ve read this suggestion 3 times like it was new😉
    ————
Well if it makes ya feel any better, I’ve been talking for nearly a MONTH about us trading down to the Cardinals. Thus, I’ve heard the suggestion since like 100x! 😀

  65. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Wyo – You’re going to take Vander Esch or Evans at #15? I hope Vander Esch

  66. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

I’m starting to hope that one of the top 4 QBs drop to us. Even if we don’t get the pirate’s chest trade down, warming to the idea of one of them on the roster. Tanny could handle it and after a year we would know which one to keep….and the other would have some positive trade value. Other guys we would take at #11 would help more next year, but maybe as not as much in the long-term.

  67. drg's avatar drg says:

Well crap, I’m going to be out camping in Southern Utah with all my scouts this weekend. Going to miss the entire draft. Hopefully I can find a signal somewhere to get an update!

  68. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I would think Buffalo and Az wont trade up until there’s 3 QBs gone. Why pay the extra price to get the 3rd one at say 5, when there’s not much difference between them.

Sure they may really like one over the other, but is it really worth it?

If Buffalo moves to 5, would AZ call us, when we’re on the clock to make a trade or are they calling SF to make sure they get in front of us? Would we call them when Oak is on the clock to start the convo, or even earlier?

How many people did the GS Killer kill, reportedly?
    ——————–

Sorry, Mike. It’s hard for me to post during work hours.

The GS Killer killed 12 that we know of across CA, raped dozens, and broke into over 100 homes. It’s being reported he then moved to Australia, and operated there for a long time. DNA finally caught up to him.

He would do crazy stuff like break into a home, make the people lay on their stomachs, and stack dishes on them and tell them he’d kill them if he heard the dishes rattle. Then he’d go make himself some dinner in the house. He created a wave of terror here in the 70’s.

It’s pretty crazy they caught him after all this time.

  70. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The mock we did last night was right in line with every other mock I’ve seen done with the exception of a few picks. I don’t think it was off in any way.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Being inline with other mocks doesn’t make it not off. About every scenario has been played out except most don’t have trades, so that makes it off.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I agree with ya on that, Steve. However, if we were to have done trades in our mock Draft, it could have taken ALL NIGHT to get it done! 🙂

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

You guys did a fabulous job, and proves how little the experts know more than the super fans.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We had no trades and usually the real draft throws more monkey wrenches in it than anything you’ve read for months. After everyone has been brainwashed into thinking they know the order of BPA, a couple of teams go off the script and now they start getting criticized for reaching by fans and media. Happens every year. LOL

  71. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Giants will take Barkley at 2. No way they don’t

  72. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Jets increased use of analytics could help determine QB. There’s too much info out there, so these guys over evaluate QBs, if it looks like a duck…just watch them play translate it to what the NFL does and make the dam pick.

I’ve heard the Bills have frameworks in place to move up to 2, 5, or 7. I think if Cleveland passes on Darnold they’ll move up to 2 & if Cleveland does take Darnold then supposedly they’ll move up to 5 for Rosen.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Good to see you dbolt. The draft changes if CLE doesn’t take Darnold #1 because there is plenty buzz out there that he’s the QB the Giants like.

  77. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Just bought my tix for Infinity War. I was going to wait a week or two for the fervor to die down, but I am a little too worried about spoilers so I’ll see it Sat.

Draft Thu, Fri, Sat, and Infinity War Sat night. Going to be a good week. 🙂

    • rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

Nice!!! I have tickets for Friday morning. That way I don’t miss any of the draft.😉

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Good plan! I tried for Fri morning but I was too late. I was surprised I was able to get them Sat night, but luck was with me. I got the last two available seats. 🙂

  78. D's avatar D says:

Imo the strategy of trying to make a player fall to you is flawed. No one would expect good publicity to be soread so if you spread good things so others will select them in essence you did push the other prospect down to you by pushing others above then and no one would shrug off something they didn’t expect was a false report

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Thanks man – So, who’s your pick at #11?

      • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

        Mike,
If Smith or Fitzpatrick are there I’d take them, but I’d prefer to trade down and take Rashaan Evans….even though that’s now a popular name Armando is touting. I just really like his physicality which would match up really nice w/ Raekwon.

  81. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Dbolt,

ALWAYS good to see ya here, man!

  82. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Oh GOD now they are talking “one of the top 5 QB’s” Give it a rest!

  83. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Mike- I am just being greedy. My son is holding out some hope that we can still draft him, so it makes me want him that much more. We do need Gesicki, and we may need to trade up a little in the early second to get him. You know he’s my boy! He would fit perfectly into Gase’s offense.

  84. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Good to see you dbolt. The draft changes if CLE doesn’t take Darnold #1 because there is plenty buzz out there that he’s the QB the Giants like.

  87. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

DBolt – What if Tremaine Edmunds is there and Smith and Fitzpatrick are gone? I get the feeling you’re not too keen on Edmunds

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

I like him because of the natural upside factor with him. With that said I do trust Evans pedigree & physicality in a trade down where if you gain an extra 2nd….those to me are a better value for this team long term.

  88. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Fuck Armondo and his mediocrity treadmill. His points ARE NOT VALID. Every team needs to replace every position every few years (5-6) players do not last forever. The average nfl career is 3 years. do da math Mondo.

  89. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Steve, I can assure you. The front office is not altering their board or draft philosophy to prevent someone drafting after us from getting a certain player. They are NOT going to change their approach to keep Buff from getting ANYONE no matter who is still on the board. It is not even a consideration.

I mean can you imagine? The guys in the war room high fiving because the guy they really want has fallen to them, but one guy in the back says “WAIT! We can’t take him, Buffalo might get a QB if we do….

    NEVER

  90. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Can Eli still win a shootout?

He never could, what would make that change now? Eli has never been Elite. Mediocre by definition.

  91. pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

Armando is pendantic and self-absorbed. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally.

  92. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

MF13, He has a point, up to a point, but he pushes it too far in his examples. Some of the guys we signed are depth, never meant to be “the solution” others were old stop gap guys at the time. The front office KNEW they were stop gap. was an 11 year veteran EVER to be considered the “solution” at OLB? NO and to suggest it is asinine.

  93. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

    BBL

    Nogtih all if not

One thing I’ll say about Armando is he nailed the 1st 2 days of the draft last year target wise.

  95. pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

M – Omar is worse. Problem is both are overly impressed with their own opinions. As for Hall of Fame and All- pro voters – Darin Gantt, ProFootballTalk is a Hall of Fame voter, too. Voters are all media….each franchise appoints one from their local writers. Basically a life time appointment.
