A quick glance at the depth chart shows you we have a lot of big receivers, a LOT. We have a couple of diminutive receivers too, like Grant and Wilson but otherwise we have large quantities of bigger receivers, over 6 feet. As to where some of these guys are the depth chart are isn’t important, it’s basically just a list of who’s on the roster as all of this is subject to change. I do believe that until Preston Williams shows he’s fully healthy, our main outside receivers will be Parker and Hurns, and if Wilson is able to convince coaches he’s healthy enough to produce like he did the first half of the 2018 season before the hip injury, he should be our slot receiver. After that, it’s a Battle Royale and only a few more will survive.
I’d have to say that our receiving corps is a strength of this team and one of the few units that will likely remain most intact and least changed as least as far as the first 4 or 5 of the depth chart. The order may change, but I think those 5 guys are probably going to be the 5 guys on the chart come the start of the season. DeVante Parker had an impressive season and his stats don’t even tell the whole story. While his stats are impressive in their own right, the way he got there is even more impressive. It’s like a switch went off and and it was like every ball thrown in his direction was his. He made some of the most aggressive, contested catches routinely week in and week out from game #8 non. The chemistry that QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and Parker developed was really something. Fitzpatrick had so much confidence in Parker that he was just throwing passes in Parker’s direction no matter how tight he was covered because he felt Parker had the best chance to come up with the ball and he was usually rewarded for that.
Parker wasn’t the only one who impressed. Preston Williams and Isaiah Ford both made great strides. Williams was a regular contributor week in week out until he was injured week 8. Williams used his size and frame to make catches but sometimes struggled with the easy ones, but you can see there’s talent there. Isaiah Ford saw limited work early on but really started impressing from week #13 on. It’s nice to have a such a young WR corps, with talented vets like Parker, Hurns and Wilson to keep these guys in line. Like I said earlier, I think the WR’s are our best and most solid unit, and although this is a very strong WR draft class, I don’t expect us to be very active in the draft for WR’s. If anything, finding a strong KR/PR who could either be a RB or WR will be a likely target.

Figured out why the Fins have put the word out there, that they’re willing to trade lots of picks to move up for Tua. By doing that other teams don’t have the picks to compete, so they’ll give up.
If we feel other teams are still interested, all we have to do is talk with Detroit while they’re on the clock, but don’t actually make the deal, and when time gets close they’ll have to just put their pick in.
Posturing means nothing Steve. If you really believe that a team that wants Tua is not going to pick up the phone and inquire come draft day you’re crazy.

Only reason im thinking second or third tier is if i think Rosen is the guy for us. We need to take a QB and not put it off on a what if or a maybe next year. We need to start this process this year. If they have a guy they believe in, they should get him and we shouldnt be pissing and moaning about picks or second guessing their decisions. I for one am excited to see what they do, i dont want them to trade away picks either but if they do then that means it was worth it.

Tomorrow morning I’ll drive off to my job to grade and authenticate the still large number of coins shipped to us. It’s just amazing how many of the U.S. and foreign coins we see are either altered or downright counterfeit!! For about the last 15-20 years, the feds have basically dropped out of pursuing the rare coin counterfeiters. So private industry has had to pick up the slack to protect the integrity of our collectible coins. My frequent trips to coin conventions have been stopped temporarily by the Covid virus. And we’ve had to, for now, close our doors to the public, until the virus abates. But I still have my job, and I’m so thankful for that!

He followed me on twitter when i responded to one of his tweets and we have had some back and forth comments on a few different things. Blew me away too, he is my second favorite dolphin all time behind Dan, and i watched him play and tried to learn from what i saw him doing in games because at the time i played LT.
Like i said a little while back its very surreal talking online with one of your sports idols.
It’s nice that he honors the fans. We loved these guys, looked up to them even though I’m older than they are. It’s like giving back. I would love to have more interactions with him. heck, I had no idea he was even on twitter.

I disagree i think Thomas has elite level skills, he has some flaws but the places he really excels is footwork and thats usually a trait thats more natural and not really easy to improve on. He also corrects well. I saw some things people were pointing out where he “failed” but those plays he kept his guy away from the QB, he initially bit on an inside move and was behind catching up to the guy, but he corrected with full extension and a shove at the end that pushed the guy out of his pass rush path. I mean everything doesn’t go perfect allt he time and i think those plays actually showed great traits, as in his ability to adjust and still get the job done.
I think Josh Jones is my 2nd favorite followed by Wills and then Wirfs. Jones is a little raw but his footwaork is really good and he i think has a ton of potential when coached up right.

only cheap for another year or so. If you think Parker’s 9-11 Million per year through 2022 is cheap. Williams is a FA after 2021 so if he continues on the trend he was on before he got injured he will be looking for a big payday too.

Hard to look more than a couple years ahead in today’s NFL. And yeah that is a cheap WR tandem if they work out of course.
If they dont, go draft a new one. WR’s are the second easiest, and in my opinion possibly the easiest position player to replace.
Allen Hurns is going to be playing opposite Parker until Williams proves he’s ready to take over.

D, I don’t necessarily agree with you on that. Often it takes WR 2-3 years to really come into their own in the NFL. Some of the TOP ones come out gang busters, but it’s not like RB where they hit the ground running (LOL) the first year.
I like Parker and Williams. If they can both come in and continue the path we began to see last year, I think we have two guys who can be really solid pros and maybe even better. Parker has to continue to show he can stay healthy because I think he can produce. Parker can do it. He just has to be dependable. Williams played like a stud. He went out and beat people, and it was nice to see. It’s what Parker should be doing. If Williams can continue the physical play, catch what’s thrown to him and not just the big throws and take another step as a young player, he will be really solid. I’m hoping either one starts dictating coverages and things start opening up for other guys like our TEs/RBs. Wilson, if he could stay on the field, could really benefit from those guys drawing coverage. It would be nice to actually threaten all three areas of the field again.

Williams had more yards in 8 games last year than Hurns had in 14 games. They had the exact same amount of catches – 32 (Hurns played in 6 more games)
The Unicorn had 1 more TD than Hurns in six less games.
It comes down to how well Williams comes back from his torn ACL and what they each show this off-season.
I know that at the moment Hurns is the healthier guy. I think Preston Williams will probably take that spot from Hurns at some point if he deserves it, but I think Hurns is a good receiver in his own right.
I’m not comparing the two, but watching Williams reminded me of watching Michael Irvin. That kid is a competitor. Now, can he start making the easy catch ALL the time and keep showing a penchant to make big plays? He won’t be a surprise or unknown to teams anymore. Can he adapt and adjust to the possibility that he starts seeing more coverages focused on stopping him? Because he’s a competitor, I would hope he steps up and responds to it.

Rare circumstance there man, the majority of the ones that excel and become dominant do it first or second year. I know my opinion isnt the only one, thats why i broke it off as my feeling, and not the rest of the NFL because so far people in the NFL are still paying for them (see Amari Cooper’s contract) but i think its much better to keep recycling guys even if it does take a 1-2 year process to get them there. I mean you have 5-6 spots, there isnt a way to stagger that to have 2-3 good ones at any time? You wanna pay 100mil to a guy and hurt your chances are resigning your LT/DE/QB/CB’s WR to me is not a position to worry with having some huge contract guy out there. So if the time comes and the contract demands are crazy, move along.
Oh, I agree with most of your comment. Just not necessarily that they are the second easiest position to fill right away. I don’t like paying 100Mil contracts to ANY player. Especially if they are only 1 of 2-3,4 that are on the field at the same time.

He was a really dangerous receiver when he had Allen Robinson opposite him, and if DeVante comes back and plays like he did in ’19, Hurns can take advantage of that like he did in JAX

When i look at Herbert in the videos i just dont see a big upgrade over Rosen, in fact i see a guy that really very similar to Rosen. It might just be a different in personality that the different because Rosen seems almost dead inside when i see him talking about playing football. Herbert seems to carry himself different than that but the overall QB skills dont seem to be a strong improvement over Herbert.
I agree 100%. Rosen kind of has that Cutler personality. If anything from Fitz that rubs off on Rosen, I hope it’s personality and how to mesh with his team.

Ok, me too. Instead of voting in the same old cons like Hillary and Biden I wanted to go different. Trump sounds terrible but he promotes the stuff I want. If we had a 3-4 party system, I’d have more options than #1 or #2. The reality is that the DNP and RNP created Trump. All they had to do was do the things they are voted in to do. Bring forth presidential candidates that promote the things I want. Things other people obviously wanted. They chose Door #2. So I chose Door #1. Populism only gains traction when your elite ruling class doesn’t give voters what they want. So we got Trump and communist Bernie in 2016 and 2020. Sounds like they didn’t learn the lesson.
Stanger, we have a homeless guy who lives in a shed behind our building. He empties our trash and cleans parking lot. Boss pays him weekly. He doesn’t drink or do drugs. He walks to the Waterfront Mission 2 blocks away every evening and takes a shower. We all give him food, clothes, toothpaste, soap, etc.
Anyway, he hangs out in our back TV room during the day. We only use 2 out of 6 desks to work with customers now. When the customer leaves, our homeless guy comes out, puts on his gloves and wipes down the whole desk and chairs. Boss gave him a raise to do that. LOL

Krishna – To answer you question about taking care of the service industry, yes. We are ordering out at least 3 times a week and always use door dash so they get some income too. 40 percent tips.
We have approximately 300 employees. none them are losing, or will lose, an hour of pay. Regardless of whether they are quarantined or have to take care of family or the airports shut down. If their normal schedule is 40/week, they get paid for 40/week.
