Injuries and cuts reshape Dolphins roster

When I first heard the news that the Dolphins waived/injured our 5th RD pick Curtis Weaver I was furious. Sometimes I can’t help myself, I think “same old Dolphins”. I thought for $670K we could have put the kid on I/R and next year we’d have ready to go and see what he can do. Take a look at the picture up above, the dude is flexing and my modest biceps are bigger than that dudes, he looks soft. Still, Weaver was productive and many draft experts gave us high marks on that pick, a great value in the 5th RD. The Browns, who claimed Weaver have put him on I/R. To be fair, I thought Flores looked especially and unusually uncomfortable when asked about Curtis Weaver. Flores is pretty quick and direct and during the interview, he labored to answer why Weaver was cut which leads me to think there’s something more than we may ever find out. In any case, Weaver is a Brown now and you know what that means to me. (I’ll spare you the expletives)

Kalen Ballage’s career as a Miami Dolphin is also over. He leaves much like one other promising RB draft pick of the past left, in disappointing fashion. Daniel Thomas never fulfilled his potential and Kalen Ballage who I once thought could be our version of David Johnson “light” yet turned out to be David Johnson 20,000,000 gallons of helium. So with the waiving of Curtis Weaver and then the release of Kalen Ballage, the Dolphins signed DB Deatrick Nichols and claimed RB Salvon Ahmed, a former Washington Husky RB. I can’t blame Kalen Ballage completely because our organization doesn’t have a ton of cred evaluating RB’s. We traded away Ajayi (Gase), we traded away Kenyan Drake (who is flourishing with the Cards) and now gave up on Kalen Ballage. If Ballage does well elsewhere, that will amp up this feeling.

The camp battles so far are encouraging. Big Robert Hunt and Solomon Kindley are making noise, winning some battles and losing others but making a splash nonetheless. I like that last years 3rd RD pick Michael Deiter is getting a lot of reps at center and is most likely being groomed as the replacement for Ted Karras who is here on a 1 YR show me contract. I can actually see light at the end of the tunnel with this O-line. Eventually, I see Jackson – Flowers – Deiter – Kindley – Hunt, or maybe Jesse Davis continues his elevated play at RT and holds off Hunt and Hunt moves inside to RG and then Kindley is a very nice depth player to have. The QB’s have all had ups and downs and rookie phenom Tua Tagovailoa is not immune to that. This is expected, anyone who thought Tua was just going to ride onto the field on a unicorn and throw rainbow TD’s every throw was due for disappointment. He’s just getting started and I’m sure there is a lot the kid is trying to absorb at this point. He’s got talent, let him get up to speed. Honestly, I expect some play from mostly everyone with the limited amount of work players and coaches are able to get in. Hopefully as the season progresses, things will look better. If that happens, that’s a good thing. I think teams that have mostly the same personnel and coaches back have a clear advantage over teams with many new p-layers, new coaches and new systems. The Dolphins check all of those boxes so keep your early expectation low.

GO DOLPHINS!!

Here is an updated depth chart. The Dolphins put out a statement that the previous depth chart had an inaccuracy, and they want to thank Mike “The Ancient Hand” E for correctly pointing out that Baker is a starting LB. lol

    https://www.thephinsider.com/2020/9/8/21426998/two-items-really-stuck-out-in-the-dolphins-depth-chart

    • CavalierKong says:

Kindley got the starting nod at RG. The Dolphins wanted to have him starting at RG/RT, but the league says you can’t have one player filling two positions at the same time no matter how big he is.

  2. steveccnv says:

Stanger be careful what you wish for. Dems planning on increasing the Supreme Court Justices up to 15, if Biden gets in, and that in and of itself is enough to change our country forever.

    • stangerx says:

I doubt that would ever happen, but that’s a great idea. Current Court can only handle so many cases (like 4% get certiori). That would let them handle more cases and split into panels like a Court of Appeals and come together in full for en banc cases.

      • steveccnv says:

They’ve been talking about it for the last 3 years, but if you think having a large majority of dems in the Supreme Court a good thing, then you could care less about the Constitution. True colors starting to show.

      • stangerx says:

But the constitution doesn’t set the number of justices. So how does that come into it? Just talking about judicial efficiency (you know I was a lawyer). What “true colors” are you talking about?

      • pheloniusphish says:

They don’t care about efficiency. They just want to stack it with liberal ideologues to overcome the current conservative majority.

      • stangerx says:

phelon — missing here is who brought it up….. cause sure as heck not a plank on the Dem platform. FDR threw out doing the same and the nation said “Hell No.” Sure not one of Biden’s proposals either. So I just mused on how to build a better Supreme Court since never gonna happen, least not this time around.

Most Dolphins fans wish Rosen had worked out, but I’m glad he didn’t. Although it would have been fun to have a continual Dr Rosen Penis joke, there is no way I want that guy to be the ‘face’ of the franchise….

    • Tim Knight says:

What is a Dr Rosen Penis joke?

On another note, once we drafted Tua, Rosen wasn’t going to be in the plans, even as a backup. They took a look at Rosen because they didn’t know what their options would be in 2020. Now they have their QB of the future.

Oh okay, I forgot that scene. LOL

  8. CavalierKong says:

    From the Herald:

    ▪ How crazy was Dolphins cut-down day?

Per sources, cornerback Tae Hayes was going to make the team and was in a defensive backs Zoom meeting on Saturday afternoon when Miami traded for Lynn Bowden Jr.

The defensive backs Zoom meeting was stopped minutes before the roster cutdown deadline, Hayes was told he was being released, and the meeting restarted without him. Hayes rejoined the Dolphins on their practice squad on Sunday.

  9. stangerx says:

Dolphins are 6.5 dogs to the Pats in the opener. And that is in Foxboro. Yeah they say we should lose, but that’s about the lowest spread can remember at their place.

  10. stangerx says:

“Again, that initial depth chart, I wouldn’t put too much into that. There are so many groupings. What grouping are we talking about? Are we talking about 12-personnel, 11-personnel, 20-personnel, 10-personnel, big nickel, little nickel, dime; so I’m not into the whole starters, back-ups. I think in football, you’ve got 11 guys on the field, a lot of different groupings.”
    — Brian Flores

    • Tim Knight says:

How many times does he have to say this for the people who put out depth charts before they finally get it? LOL

      • stangerx says:

“12-personnel, 11-personnel, 20-personnel, 10-personnel”….. I have no idea what the difference is. Wonder if Omar does. 🙂

      • CavalierKong says:

Gesicki is #2 on the depth chart behind Smythe, so I’m shredding my Gesiki fathead, burning his jersey, and having 88 pizzas delivered to his house over the next week C.O.D.

  11. Mike E. says:

Stanger – That’s very true, except Baker is a 3 down LB and the starter and he’s in there unless they’re going all DB’s.

    • stangerx says:

Thanks Tim…. explains. But there is no way will remember this stuff. What happened to 2 TE formation?

11 Personnel: 1 running back, 1 tight end, 3 wide receivers
12 Personnel: 1 running back, 2 tight ends, 2 wide receivers
21 Personnel: 2 running backs, 1 tight end, 1 wide receiver
22 Personnel: 2 running backs, 2 tight ends, 1 wide receiver
13 Personnel: 1 running back, 3 tight ends, 1 wide receiver
10 Personnel: 1 running back, 0 tight ends, 4 wide receivers
20 Personnel: 2 running backs, 0 tight ends, 3 wide receivers
00 Personnel: 0 running backs, 0 tight ends, 5 wide receivers

  12. Mike E. says:

I wonder how often Smythe will be on the field with Gesicki. My guess would be not really that much.

YOUNG STANGER: SAW your comment about the Fins being 6 and 1/2 point dogs at Foxboro. You said it was the smallest “spread” U could remember. Let me freshen your memory. From 1967 to, I believe, 1984, the Dolphins won EVERY GAME IN THIS SERIES PLAYED IN THE ORANGE BOWL. They also won several times in Foxboro and were FAVORED to do so on many occasions. Indeed, prior to Brady, the Dolphins held a significant advantage in this rivalry. — BTW — I have a wager with a local Pats fan, who has given me the 6 and 1/2 points. But he’s only willing to bet $1 on it!!!
EVEN Patriot fans know their team is gonna suck this year!!!

  15. olddolphan says:

EXPECTING A SOLID PERFORMANCE from the VGK tonight as they take on the Dallas Stars in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. Look for Vegas to win by more than 1 goal tonight!

  16. CavalierKong says:

Wow, I didn’t realize that MLB is going to have 8 playoff teams per league this year. Division 1st and 2nd place teams get in along with 2 WC per league. I didn’t like the Cards chances before finding this out. Now I think we have a great chance, lol.

  17. CavalierKong says:

Dang, watching the Card vs the Twins. Matt Wieters has a .067 average just had a 19 pitch at bat, just 2 off the record of 21. Amazing at bat, even though it ended in him flying out.

  18. olddolphan says:

KNIGHTS have out shot, out hit, and out scored Dallas to the tune of a 3-0 advantage after two periods. I do NOT expect a 3rd stanza comeback by the Stars, so I’m headed to rest up for tomorrow night’s game between The Lightning and The NYI. The Islanders have lost 3 of their last 4 games and are giving up 4.25 goals per game during that stretch. Tampa Bay sure as hell WON’T score 8 goals tomorrow night, but I do see them having the edge in what I believe will be a tight and chippy contest.

I know it is….. but not as a 2 TE formation like in the old school It’s “12 Personnel.”
    —————————————————————-
Thats the internal language of football. If you haven’t played or haven’t been involved behind the scenes, i doubt some of the terminology has ever made it to ya, and i think part of that is that the fucking reporters arent generally told that because they wouldn’t understand it either.

Flo seems to talk like everyone knows this stuff, i have heard him say things before and im like, no way those guys got that. I also have seen him struggle to find a way to translate it to terms they will understand. He will usually take a really long pause and you can see him working it out in his head, “now how to i translate this”. Thats because he is fluent in football, 80% of fans and reporters and whatever arent going to understand it at all, another 10% might be able to get the jest, but still have to think of it in different terms, and that other 10 are the ones that literally is the same as saying “2 TE set”. When a person has a very strong mastery of some “language” they forget how complex it can be for others because for them its so simple.

    • stangerx says:

And I most definitely have not played, even if looking back wish I had — but how was I supposed to know how much I’d grow? Seems part of the job of being HC is being the face of the team though….. and that includes talking in ways the fans can understand when the cameras are rolling or what you say is going to be a quote in the press.

      Same time I learned something.

    • steveccnv says:

Lol at 3.1 earthquake😉 In the west no one, not even reporters talk about such little shakings, unless it’s in reference to another quake.

  32. steveccnv says:

One of our bold predictions from Cameron Wolfe has Parker and Williams both surpassing 1000 yards. I say, if that happens, we’ll be no better than 6-10. Why force the ball, we’ve got plenty of receivers to throw to?

My bold prediction is we’ll have 7 guys with 400+ receiving yards. Parker, Williams, Ford, Grant, Gesicki, Shaheen and Breida. Shaheen and Grant are the big questions, but if they get the opportunity and stay healthy I think they’ll get there.

  34. D says:

I dont do the predictions stuff because im superstitious, but i expect to see the rest of yalls predictions be all over the place because truly we could be all over the place with it. I could easily see us ending in a range of 10-6 or 6-10, though i think Flo by himself puts us closer to 8-8. I just feel he will have us motivated and playing like a team and that will be good enough to beat 50% of teams on any given Sunday.

This would be a hard year to guess for me anyways because i think this team has potential to beat most any team, as well as potentially lose to any team, especially early. We are young, and inexperienced, the odd off-season hurts us in that respect, but there is talent there and there is a good coach to get the most out of them. Probably will have a much different looking team first half vs second half.

That said, barring injury, or some other unforeseen outside force, i think you all could be right at this point, i think its just a matter of how soon in the season that transition starts.

Tackling, penalties, understanding of rules, some of those things without preseason aren’t up to the standard you want them to be, and that’s the case throughout the league. You learn from experience, Flores says.

    • steveccnv says:

Some people seem to think, because of no preseason these early games are going to be rough or filled with endless mistakes, but college doesn’t have preseason and they start out just fine.

      • D says:

Just like with the players, the NFL is just a different beast. I dont think they are “needed” , like i have said before i dont believe the you need contact to get your body use to it, its just not scientifically provable that thats the case. You need to limber up your body, stretch ligaments, etc but those can all be done no contact and accomplish the same preparation.

Still its about speed of the game. You dont carry over the preparation for that speed you have to play to get a true look at it and start to develop the muscle memory and the reaction time changes. I can tell you from personal experience, the first few days back after an off-season was kinda sluggish things weren’t happening as fast, and yes thats true for college, etc, but college isnt as restricted on when you can start getting ready, the speed of the game isnt as elite, so im sure the NFL could use the PS game to get acclimated and up to speed, because no matter how hard ya go in practice, its still practice, there is nothing real on the line, so you dont get the intensity and the all out effort you do in a game.

    • D says:

Looks like Flo just wants a clean and disciplined game, and thats exactly what i want. I think the rest of it takes care of itself. I remember the Gase and Philbin eras, that was the big thing missing, playing like a team, playing good football. Gase was worse too, as hard as that is to believe, i didnt think much could get worse after Philbin lost the team and how it devolved, but Gase lost his team worse than Philbin lost his.

      • steveccnv says:

Based on last year with few penalties, I expect Flores will get his clean game. Last year we lost game one 59-10, pretty sure Flores has reminded them of that and it won’tbe repeated.

  36. pheloniusphish says:

Toba – What URL for the fantasy draft again? Thought I saved it in favorites.

  37. steveccnv says:

In a normal year, with an average schedule, and not playing both west divisions I’d say 10-6, but there’s just too many weird variables to fight this year.

Denver looks like they’ve lost Von Miller for the year, the Chargers don’t have the great Rivers to bail them out, the Chiefs will be tough, the Raiders are the Raiders, 49ers I believe will decline some, Seattle was a surprise last year and with Clowney gone they’ll take a step back, the Rams aren’t the same as they gave been, Az will be tough with that midget running wild.

With that said I think our schedule is tougher than the teams we’ll be playing, because of the travel.

    • D says:

Yeah its just a wierd year. Usually i can get a rough idea of what i think is the right expectation, but this year, i have no clue, completely just going with whatever to be honest.

The code, when this employee logging in one morning told them to F off. Mammoth wanted to sue us, but our owners profusely apologized, explaining the situation and they pulled back.

I had to help one of our clients unfuck their network after a dude sabotaged it with a “time bomb”. Sometimes they trigger on a network/system event, sometimes set to execute on a specific day or time, doesnt matter its completely blindsiding and pretty hard to handle since the person that did it knows just where to hit ya.

Steve, I was going through a cold weather survival course in Bridgeport, CA back in Jan 99′. It was 2 weeks long. Week 1 was classroom. Week 2 we lived in tents at 9,000 feet. We had a mock battle and had to assess casualties, triage and evacuate on sleds wearing snow shoes. The last night we had to ditch our tents and dig a snow shelter to live in for the last night. It was a blast! I actually got lucky to get in the course. I was stationed with a Marine Corps CH-46 Squadron out of New River, NC. We were there for 2 months flying medivac coverage for the Marines who were doing their cold weather training. They had someone drop at last minute for the course and I got a seat.

Anyway, our weekend off in the middle they were supposed to bus us to Mammouth for a day of skiing but got nixed because Playboy was doing something there and they didn’t want 40 military guys there. Don’t know if it was a photo shoot or just a party but thought it was BS. They ended up bussing us to Kirkwood to ski. It was still nice.

Least you got to ski. In the early 90’s I go to visit a girlfriend who had moved to San Fran and we drive out to Tahoe on a stay and ski package at one of the casinos (think the Hyatt). They’d had 3 feet in two days just a bit before we got there and I was jacked to hit Alpine Meadows.

She goes to bed early and I stay up at the tables. Next morning woke up to one of the worst sounds of my life — her yuking her guts out in the bathroom. Man did I try to think of every possible way for me to still ski….. but it just wasn’t there. We headed back with the lift tickets unused.

Why is it every my prediction is one or two wins more than Vegas? Vegas has us at 6.

    • steveccnv says:

Because you’re a homer…Vegas is based on betting and not reality. We’ve gone over 3 of the last 4 years.

    • D says:

Vegas usually is much closer to correct than us just FWIW.

    • D says:

My feeling is its a game of inches for us this year, some tough losses, some gutsy wins, could go a lot of different ways in several games, even some of the really big ones like KC, i dont even see that one as cut and dry loss. This is another year i want to see us really solidify as a team, it could end up a bunch of ways and its probably gonna be somewhere in between us and Vegas.

      • stangerx says:

Yep — we should be able to win every game we are in, but that doesn’t mean we will. We one 5 last year and Vegas has us at 6…. that I just don’t see given how much more talent is on the roster. Especially having a least better than pathetic OL.

“I wanted to always play it down. I still like playing it down.”
    — Donald J Trump on recorded audio

“The president never downplayed the virus.”
    — White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who admittedly has a very tough job, in response to the audio.

    • pheloniusphish says:

I’m assuming that the recording specifically mentions the virus? Anonymous source like the Atlantic article?

      • stangerx says:

Subject was distinctly Covid and nothing anonymous about it. Trump talking to Bob Woodward on tape. Not sure why Trump keeps talking to him, but he does.

      • pheloniusphish says:

Have to check that out. See what the context is. Hard saying with him. he says shit just to say it sometimes.

      • stangerx says:

Maybe can save you time…… he said it before the very worst hit. Back to that lost March or whenever.

    • steveccnv says:

Stanger I’m not buying what you’re selling.

      • stangerx says:

Why not steve? Do you think I made this up? Kayleigh McEnany said her quote in front of the assembled White House press corps (and it was pro-Trump) and what Trump said was recorded by one of the most respected journalists in America…….. and he has it on tape. Exactly what don’t you believe….. they were short quotes.

      • steveccnv says:

        In general

      • stangerx says:

steve — well then thanks for letting me know that. Not like I am shocked to hear this one new item won’t change your mind. Been real sure your political view is hardcore set for a good long while. But that goes for almost everyone on this board. Just found this a bit funny….poor Kayleigh.

  52. CavalierKong says:

It’s going to be interesting seeing the Gilmore/ Parker rematch after the way Parker abused Gilmore in the season finale last year.

With fig newton running things, the Pets offense should look vastly different from what we’re used to. We might see a whole variety of rush plays and RPOs.

With the Pets defense having lost a number of players to FA and COVID opt outs, they may be vulnerable, especially since we’ll be running a new offense at them, but it’s Belicheat, he probably has secret tapes of every practice we’ve had and a copy of our playbook, so we’ll see…

    • steveccnv says:

I expect Gilmore to be on Williams, because Mr. Cheat knows he can’t cover Parker.

I don’t know what to expect from Fig😀 but he looks different to me, like a guy that is going thru a sex change. He seems soft. I’m probably wrong, but something is different, like all the hats like he’s going to the Kentucky Derby.

      • CavalierKong says:

I don’t know about soft, but after basically a whole year off, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him come out looking not sharp.

It’s so weird to not have any clue about these teams. The lack of preseason games really makes it impossible for us to gauge our team at all.

  53. pheloniusphish says:

Trump on March 19 told Woodward, “I wanted to always play it down.” He had declared a national emergency over the virus days earlier, but also said, “I still like playing it down, because I don’t want to create a panic.”

Kind of what i thought, half a quote. While I don’t know that downplaying it to avoid a panic is the way I would go, I would certainly have looked for a way to avoid a panic.

    • stangerx says:

I did cut off the “panic” part to keep it short, but the “I wanted to always play it down” was from time before. Seems that one stands alone. You want to leave it at that one…. then not sure if there is a big difference.

      • stangerx says:

And btw — was pretty clear at that point the “panic” he was worried about was in the stock market.

      • pheloniusphish says:

I wasn’t blaming you for cutting it off. The reporter that was talking to Kayleigh McEnany tried to and she jammed him up. The second have adds the context. Disagree with the method, but you can’t argue with the intent.

      • stangerx says:

I just found it funny cause she claimed Trump didn’t downplay the virus and he admitted he did to Woodward….. couldn’t have been more clear from what he told Woodward (whatever the reason). And yeah reporters will feast on stuff like that….what they do. And him downplaying was not an issue in play for me. Trump kept saying Covid would just go “poof.”

    • The Flying Pig says:

I kinda assumed his intent was to avoid panic

And it’s still a horrible decision by a really bad leader

I feel like if some one says he eats puppies
People are going to ask for context or the whole video of the puppy eating
And then argue that it was just a puppy paw later

Playing down a global pandemic would be fatal politically to anyone who didn’t rely on a treasure trove of excuses

    • steveccnv says:

Nothing new here. What do middle class Americans have to gain by being gas lighted by the left?

All evil dictators in the past have one thing in common, they use the media to put their propaganda out there. In this instance it’s more like a group of people doing it. Call them what you will, deep state, the establishment, or globalists.

    • stangerx says:

Phelon — don’t get what the huge problem this guy has other than wasn’t featured enough. You do an interview with a reporter and only a few lines get in. If a few paragraphs then you did a good job.

  54. steveccnv says:

You guys have a problem with playing it down, but no problem with the ones playing it up?

We already know what some of the governors did with the nursing homes, and how the death numbers have been fudged, and how the same person is getting counted multiple times, but what about the NY Times reporting up to 90% of the cases reported as positive shouldn’t have been?

      • The Flying Pig says:

If people are outside of their apartments and home – crime will go down

        People aren’t riding subways
        The streets are dead
And people are encouraged to wear masks
        It’s a bias combo

It’s been a low crime City for decades
It’s still relatively low despite what people are saying

  56. pheloniusphish says:

Stanger – Trump supporters defending him is more curious than Trump detractors attacking him for everything he does.

And how about that Nobel Peace Prize nomination for brokering a treaty between the UAE and Israel?

    • stangerx says:

Only my opinion but think Trump has the most loyal and passionate supporters of any political figure in my lifetime. But that’s just my take….. don’t have to agree. And good for him on the Peace Prize nomination. Deserved.

And yeah obviously some people don’t like Trump, but I’ll stand up for him every time he gets something right. For instance liked the tax cuts. How being an adult works right?

    • CavalierKong says:

Mr. Stanger, how on EARTH could you have missed the CDC stating that 94% of COVID-19 deaths in the USA, were not at all attributable to COVID-19?

Many here on the blog have been trying to tell you (and others, to be fair) that COVID deaths are being counted for the sake of BIG-PHARMA PROFIT$ (and to SCARE everybody), and now it has been proven.

What say you? Know who’s trying to destroy BIG-PHARMA? Your current President, Donald Trump.

    • stangerx says:

M13 — I didn’t miss that co-morbidity stat and the study behind it when it came out. What made you think I did, because it was not what steve was talking about. I’m willing to take hits, but least seems fair for them to be for something I have said or done.

Not sure how Big-Pharma comes into this since few covid treatments out there. You talking vaccine research?

  66. Mike E. says:

Stanger – This is just my opinion, but I think Trump defenders aren’t necessarily big Trump supporters or loyal. My thought, at least from my own perspective is a lot of us are defending against Democratic attacks, which are incessant and constant. No President has had to deal with such duress from the opposing party and its minions. Every day the assaults come and those of us that prefer Trump over the drek the Democrats offer up stand up and fight for that. It’s almost like I couldn’t give a crap if Trump disappeared from the face of this earth as long as the Democrats don’t get what they want. I have never been as opposed to the Democratic party and what they represent in my lifetime. I don’t believe I’m alone in this either.

Down 1-0 early in the period, Killorn takes a 5-minute major AND a GAME MISCONDUCT!! The Isles have a chance to score as many goals as they can with a one man advantage FOR THE WHOLE 5 MINUTES!!! But Vasilevskiy stymies the Islanders for the entire 5 minutes. THEN, late in the period, Victor Hedman scores the equalizer and it’s all tied at a goal apiece. I’m sure Barry Trotz believes his team should be up by at least 2 goals, but, instead, it’s all tied up.

LOSING THIS GAME would be an especially crushing blow for the Islanders.

Denmark has strict immigration laws. These countries aren’t comparable to what the left is trying to do here, but it all comes down to corruption. They and their cronies want to get fat, and remove the middle class.

Stanger you made a post today that said Trump played down covid, and McEnany said he didn’t play it down.

Then later you said, “I didn’t miss that co-morbidity stat and the study behind it when it came out.”

So if the stat is true, then he didn’t down play it like McEnany said, even though he said he did down play it.

But even so, why make such a big deal about what she said? Do you hold her 100% accurate to what she says, even though she may have believed it was true, true or not? Yet 90% of what the dems say is a lie, and that’s OK? Everything out of Biden’s mouth these days is a lie.

He just told PA that he was going to let them keep fracking, yet a month or so ago he said he was opposed to it.

He’s done the same thing on many other topics, with lots of tape to prove it, like taking guns, defund the police, backing the rioters…his poll numbers go down and he changes his stance.

He’s got 50 years in politics, so career politician that’s filthy rich and just as corrupt. I now know what you stand for, so no need to hide it any longer.

And Kamala, SMH, she may be worse than him. Slept her way to the top and might be #4 corrupt female politician in CA behind Feinstein, Pelosi and Waters. That’s quite the company right there, the whose who in CA corruption.

If they get shouted down, I guess we’ll be enjoying ready held opinions confirmed, fun right wing bashing democrat memes, and truncated right wing videos to our hearts content.

IDK, maybe that is what this place should be if that is what it is comprised of. I guess it’s still better than Norway. (Ok that’s the last Norwegian joke. I promise, lol)

    • Tim Knight says:

It’s not all about memes here but opinions. Facebook is much worse. If this country can’t even agree that anarchy, mayhem, violence, rioting, looting and yes MURDER is bad, then we’re all done.

      • CavalierKong says:

Smh, if things were that simple, things would be more simple. Or do you believe Piggy, Stanger, Krishna, all believe in anarchy, mayhem, etc?

      • CavalierKong says:

I’ll answer my own question. No they don’t believe in those things. They have a different perspective on what is happening in our country than “dems bad, they are the cause of all that is bad”.

  98. Tim Knight says:

Kong, I was not calling out anyone here personally. I was saying that in general. If we as a civilized society can no longer abide by laws and see lawlessness for what it is, we’re all done.

In case you haven’t noticed I have refrained from most of the the political talk – just chiming in here and there. I don’t believe in politicians, I believe in “we the people”.

    • CavalierKong says:

Ok,Tim, I gotcha. I think I’m just worn out and kinda done with all this.

Everything is tit for tat and there just isn’t any give in anyone. It would be amazing if more people could have a discussion and at times someone could simply concede a point, but people are just too consumed.

I tell ya, IMO the people that pose the biggest danger to our society are the same as always. The people that are so sure of themselves and their beliefs there is no room for any other perspective or for change.

I’ve tried different tacks to stay engaged in the board and keep some semblance of lightheartedness in the midst of unending anger and frustration, but I just ain’t having fun anymore. Only one day before NFL opening day and I think I’m dropping out. Taking my banana and a blonde and heading back to the island, lol.

      Peace out!

      • Tim Knight says:

It’s all good bro! People who think our existence is based on who wins the presidency in November, are shortchanging themselves as a voice. There are so many voices in this country as opposed to two people ultimately arguing over – what is and what should never be.

      • stangerx says:

But there is football too you damn hairy Ape. 🙂

  99. ocalarob says:

it’s rather funny how the left scrutinize trump for every little thing they find inappropriate, if he pissed in the woods he shouldnt be president.
meanwhile you have these hard left democrats supporting riots and death, attacking federal courts, defunding police, people are fleeing from dem run cities.
and you have people that are ready to empower these lunatics.

why are they so blind to this?

  100. Krishna says:

Kong and blonde taking his bananas home? Makes me sad, but I get it.

  101. Krishna says:

Maybe ocalarob, it’s not about “seeing” especially if you’re blindly seeing only what you want to see.

Try listening to the Woodward tapes and Trump’s own voice/words. Maybe, you will “see” things clearer.

    Doubtful, imo.

    • ocalarob says:

it’s very difficult to understand your point of view and get past your insults at the same time.
i think you have mental issues, so i avoid you.
maybe you should try to explain yourself face to face so when you hurl your insults i can respond appropriately. i have met you, at the time i didn’t think you were this fckn stupid.
please disregard anything i post as that’s what i do to you.

    • Krishna says:

Then, they learned, adjusted, and mitigated.

Kind a like the travel ban on China letting an additional 40k in after the ban. Oh yeah, but it’s ok to let Europeans fly to NY. Fuck NY and AOC. LMFAO.

      • wyoming85 says:

        The 40K were American citizens!

He was a little slow on Europe. By a week IMHO

I’ll agree 100% with your last sentence! 😉

      • pheloniusphish says:

Those 40K from China were American citizens. Remember when Trump got sued by California for trying to keep Americans that were positive on that cruise ship in San Fran?

  103. Krishna says:

I wonder why crime rates in most of the nation was experiencing the lowest crime rates in 50 years in January 2017. Now they’re up.

I wonder why illegal immigration was lowest in 50 years in January 2017. Now they’re up.

I wonder why we have only about 4.5% of the world pop., but 25% of deaths. Listen to the tapes. CDC is now the arbiter of truth? The FDA, stated that if the CDC was a private business, they would have shut it down.

I wonder why racial tensions have peaked since January 2017. Then, blame 25 million protesters for the few (relative to the total) looters, arsonists that commit lawless acts and deserve to be punished. If you support lawful protesters, you’re deemed an anarchist and socialist. Our country was founded on protest. Duh?

Some here, don’t even care Trump had help from Russia in getting elected even after a Republican led Senate judiciary committee said he did and more, BUT no collusion. Hilarious.

LOL….Truth, you can’t handle the truth? I’m trying to find it. All I have to do is ask ocalarob or one of the anti-anti-Trumpists???? Oh my.

Cult-like, conspiracy theorists are in full bloom these days. Yay!

Is the country really better off with this divisive rhetoric Trump has spewed since his inauguration January 2017? Not in my opinion.

Oh, let me grab my mask, this the short list of why I don’t think we are better off.

  104. ocalarob says:

Try listening to the Woodward tapes and Trump’s own voice/words.
    _______________________________________________________

wouldn’t know where to find that. and what does that have to do with running a country, is that more in the line scrutiny? if he pissed in the woods he shouldnt be president.

    go away you fckn moron

  105. sb7mvp says:

This blog disgusts me. I thought this was a site of stand up people, yet theres a lone voice crying in the wilderness against evil that is Norway. I cant support a place without morals. How can the rest of you stay silent??????

  106. ocalarob says:

as for the virus, nobody could control that and no one new the level of which it has reached, pelosi and other dems were supporting running around in the streets yet dems want to point the finger at trump.
if trump downplayed the virus at the time it was a mistake. a mistake made by the dems as well.
there’s a difference between making a mistake and downright breaking the law which the dems have repeatedly done.
a viscous attempt to gain power at any means which have cost lives and businesses. the people spoke in 2016 and the dems are disregarding what the people want.
it’s like the dems are hitler! it doesn’t matter what the people want to them.
you are suppose to set aside your differences and support the POTUS.
    that’s the american way.

    • Krishna says:

You crack me up. 2.8 million popular vote advantage. That means people.

Finally, we can talk about electoral votes and why we still have it in this day and age.

Seems antiquated to me and not a reflection of modern times.

  107. pheloniusphish says:

Ape – I don’t know why you don’t like Norway….it’s the land of 6 foot tall blonde women! Whose husbands are away on the oil rigs for 6 months at a time even! And they are VERY friendly….

LOL, I really wanted to drop my favorite line from Adventures in Babysitting right there, but I actually showed some restraint. It’s a brave new world.

I have to admit Norse mythology is pretty cool in all its forms. Although isn’t ‘Norse’ that whole region? I don’t know the answer to that. If Thor is actually a sneaky Norwegian, he does lose a little bit of his luster.

Hey, since Thor vies for the title “Strongest Avenger”, I’d think you would be on my side, Hulkster.
    ————————————————————————————-
I name my cats after norse gods lol. I have a Thor, Loki, Freya, and Heimdall, and i had a Fenrir (Fen) but he passed unfortunately.

This is the kind of sub-human response I expect from a Jets blog, but not here. Where is your soul?

    Poor Bastards!

  111. D says:

Incidentally Stanger, being called a RINO is, in my opinion kind of a badge of honor. Generally the people that call you a RINO need to be more of one themselves. I am pretty much considered a RINO because my social stances aren’t hard line right. To me it says im doing something right to not be part of the far right wing group. So again, be proud of the title IMO. We need more people that neither side wants, because those are the ones that actually care about everyone.

  112. sb7mvp says:

I’m also not surprised by Phelon’s behavior, nor his support of the unmitigated degeneracy that are Norwegians. How dare he insert himself in the conversation of a guy inserting himself in someone else’s conversation?

  113. wyoming85 says:

Am I the only one that watches “Whale Wars” and roots for the Whalers?

    • D says:

Probably lol. I know what your saying though, sometimes the anti-whalers get on my nerves as much as the slaughter of whales. I more kinda hope they accomplish their goals but a few of the fall overboard and are eventually consumed by a whale as some sorta ironic end to their hippies lives lol.

  114. D says:

I dont really see people here as truly entrenched in ideology of any political side, as much as i see a bunch of people completely fed up with one side or the other. Minor exceptions maybe, but in general, what ya hear comments about aren’t political positions on subjects as much as you hear talk of “Orange man bad” or “Crazy Commie Collective”. Just food for thought, but when i watch the convos, im not really seeing a lot of disagreement on the right and wrong in ethical terms, but rather one sides responses to it vs another. Perhaps in that observation is the true answer to politics, stop voting for or against a side, and start voting with your hearts and conscience and yeah maybe you wind up voting for the same dude, but for the right reasons.

    • steveccnv says:

I agree on some of that. It does seem like people are agreeing on things, but then they disagree in the response and carry on with some tangent that’s half disagreed on. That’s why I said we should start with what we agree on, then take it one item at a time, but that never got started.

How can you really have a constructive discussion otherwise? I don’t think you can. Even in a political debate they don’t want to do that, they just want to spew their own propaganda.

  115. Mike E. says:

    NEW BLOG UP!!!

  116. steveccnv says:

The Newton experiment in NE seems like a last ditch effort to salvage the season amidst all they’ve endured this offseason. They’ve put all their eggs in the basket of a inaccurate running QB, coming off of an injured season. It could work, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

They do also have the belicheat factor, but how’s that going to work without a QB? Even the times Brady didn’t play, they at least had a decent backup, some receivers and a D.
