Read about it here!

Jordan Phillips

DeVante Parker looked good on his first day of rookie camp.  He will be wearing #11.  which is good because #1 would be awkward.  See all the rookie’s numbers (for now) here

I’m sure you cried yourself to sleep last night.  But in case you missed it La’el Collins will not be a Miami Dolphin.  He will be a jerk instead.

Nope, that is not your Dion Jordan jersey on fire.  Rumor has it that the Dolphins will offer an alternative orange jersey in 2015.

Zach Vigil moves differently than all the other linebacker. I’m not saying he’s better, but he’s smooth with his movement. No wasted motion.

Everyone is talking about Vigil lately
he is the rookie camp sweetheart of the UDFA

Jordan Phillip just killed every dummy. They didn’t even come up after he slapped them. (Jaw open)

    Omar Kelly ✔ @OmarKelly
Every other D-lineman slaps the dummy and it bobbles. Jordan Phillips slaps them to the ground. All four! Impressive.

DeVante Parker has a ridiculous catch radius, and catches everything with his hands. It’s very impressive.

  7. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

A 6’2 Sean Smith that can catch the rock!

#Dolphins CB Tony Lippett gets his first INT in one-on-ones. The converted WR caught the ball easily, as he should.

  12. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Brian, I’m sure it will be 6 games, the NFL wouldn’t want the Phins to beat NE without Brady.
I can also bet that whatever the suspension is, it will be appealed and later reduced to next to nothing after the publicity dies down….business as usual for the Cheatriots!!!

  13. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Signs continue to mount that the injury suffered by Jaguars rookie Dante Fowler today is a bad one.

Ex-Patriot Damien Woody: I believe Tom Brady cheated
Posted by Michael David Smith on May 8, 2015, 4:24 PM EDT

Former Patriots center Damien Woody, who snapped the ball to Tom Brady thousands of times and won two Super Bowl rings with him, believes that Brady was behind Deflategate.

Woody engaged in a debate on ESPN today with fellow former Patriot Tedy Bruschi, and although Bruschi defended Brady and said he doesn’t think the Patriots are cheaters, Woody said he agrees with the Ted Wells report, which found that the preponderance of the evidence shows that Brady cheated.

Bruschi asked Woody if he believes Brady told Patriots employees to deflate the footballs the Patriots would use in the AFC Championship Game, and Woody answered, “I do believe that.”

Woody said he read the Deflategate report and found it convincing. Woody added that he doesn’t believe the AFC Championship Game is the first time Brady cheated.

“From the texts of Jim McNally, him labeling himself ‘the Deflator’ tells me that this wasn’t the only time. When you’ve given yourself a label, to me that insinuates that this action has happened multiple times. I’m looking at it as this has happened multiple times, not only this particular situation, but it’s happened in the past before,” Woody said.

Bruschi asked Woody, “You believe Tom Brady would tell someone to do something illegal?” Woody answered, “Yes.”

Woody said he respects Brady as a great player, but also thinks Brady is such a competitor that he’d do anything to find an edge. Even cheat.

Sheesh, did the Jags organization trade Babe Ruth in another life. That poor team can’t catch a break.

  23. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Wow that really sucks for Fowler and the Jags. I hate hearing reports like this.

  24. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

We didn’t have a 3rd, but with our 2nd and 6th we drafted Phillips, McCain, and Lippett. I like that better than having the 3rd. Phillips played like he was bored in college.

  25. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Seems like every player on the team is in the mold of Philbin now and a scheme fit, no more excuses Joe, gitter done.

  26. olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

STEVE: Last year at this time virtually ALL OF US said another 8-8 season featuring a December melt-down would lead to the firing of Philbin. –WELL, after another 8-8 season with a December melt-down, Philbin was allowed to twist slowly in the wind (a NIXON-era phrase) BUT he was not fired!!—WHY?? –Because Ross could not get another coach perceived as better than Philbin TO TAKE THE JOB. THIS TIME, however, there’ll be several good coaches who’ll want this job b/c of all the young talent on this team. –SO I AGREE — another non-playoff season should produce a head coaching CHANGE!

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I think the injuries had a lot to do with keeping him, we were pretty good at midseason. Everyone on here was talking about us taking down the cheats.

      • olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

YEs, BUT that was barring another December melt-down. It was obvious Miami lacked the quality depth that other teams seemed to have.

  27. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I would agree, we have to take the next step this year. I think Joe would be the first to say that. He’s in this to win, not wallow around at .500.

  28. olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

On another point: AM I the only one here who wants Ross to fire his notorious “advisor” (90+ year old Metamucil Carl Peterson) with 80+ year old “Whipper-snapper” Bill Polian?? Bill Polian is STILL one of the brightest guys out there. And he sure as hell has a much better resume than the Metamucil Man.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I haven’t heard a thing about Peterson in a long time. Mr. T is now that paid advisor.

      • olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

NONE of us really knows how much Ross still listens to Peterson. HOWEVER, I’ve NOT read any articles suggesting Mr. Metamucil is off the payroll. Replacing him with Polian would certainly be a step forward. And there’s no limit on how many paid advisors an owner may have.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Carl Peterson will be an afterthought when we start winning.

  29. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

This is why I think the suspension will be longer, and maybe close to a yr.

“Brady’s refusal to provide us with his own emails, text messages and phone records on relevant topics, in response to our narrowly tailored requests, limited the evidence available for our review and analysis,” the report said.

He’s hiding something, when you don’t take a dui test you get arrested as if you did and it was positive. I think they handle it the same way, if not the NFL will have a difficult time in the future dealing with any type of suspension.

Today was a lot of fun it was nice being back in football and even better being part of the dolphins #PhinsUp #StrongerTogether

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I’m glad Casey Rogers is gone, I hated the way he handled the Dline. We need guys playing more to their strengths. Phillips needs to play on all 1st downs, that’s his biggest asset, then once he gets more acclimated let him play some passing downs, just don’t over play him.

  31. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Brady is an arrogant fuck, I think that will play into the suspension, because his arrogance is what caused him to think he’s above the league and didn’t have to submit phone records and emails.

  32. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:
  33. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

OD, I don’t think Peterson was on the payroll. He was involved with Ross with some other business venture and is a friend.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Ross secretly gets his football decisions from Cam Cameron, Bill Parcells, Tony Sparano, & Jeffro Ireland 😉

  34. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Steve, I saw you mention the other day the same thing as you just mentioned above.
Not trying to be an ass, but I’d think Phillips is better suited for the passing downs early on. Take advantage of his quick feet & 6’6 wing span.
Let Mitchell play the early run downs.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I see him as a run stuffer when y uses no effort and a pass rusher, if he decides to put forth effort. In other words he can be as good as he wants to be, but we have to be careful with him and not let him get complacent. I’d have no problem with him being in on 3rd down and long, but he’d have to prove the effort first. He’s a freak, get him in shape and he’ll be a superfreak 😉

like OD says, show me. i dont think he will get anything. the report didnt come out and say he did, goodell will hide behind that. besides if he cheated he shouldnt be suspended he should be kicked out of the league. drugs are one thing, domestic violence is also but cheating hurts the integrity of the league. goodell wont suspend him cause no suspense is fair for a cheater, expulsion is the only thing to do to a cheater.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Tim, here’s the overview on Jamil Douglas

Highly versatile and athletic with experience at all four offensive line positions outside the center. Entered 2014 with 27 consecutive starts, primarily at left guard, and started 13 games at left tackle for the Sun Devils to be named All-Pac-12 first team.
A natural athlete with good feet he fits best inside because of his height, weight and reach.

That’s pretty funny Rob, and if you think the balls/strikes calls are bad in MLB… Have you watched college baseball? Austin Hill is 6’3 212.

Updating a previous item, the Seahawks did not sign UDFA WR Austin Hill after he failed his physical.
Hill went undrafted in large part due to college medical concerns, and clearly still isn’t healthy. It’s unfortunate after Hill flashed big-time promise during his time at the University of Arizona, particularly as a sophomore (81-1,364-11).

  52. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    steve

not that other sports dont have rules they bend too, like traveling in basketball or holding in football, but this is the bread and butter of baseball. the strike zone. if you want expand the rules of the strike zone, i am ok with that, but you cant let an ump just make up his own strike zone. that just leads to hurting the integrity of the game

I think maybe the size and dreads made me think Ajayi reminds me of Marshawn Lynch. But he actually runs a lot like Knowshon Moreno. Very calculated in his runs but it’s not about speed. It drives me crazy!

All I keep hearing is how little 1 PSI makes, and it shouldn’t tarnish his legacy and and also, the wording that the NFL uses, “He probably was aware”. I don’t really get why they use that jargon, but it doesn’t make him any less guilty of the crime.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

He probably was aware, that’s NFL jargon. To the NFL it’s all they need to say he did it, since it’s not a court of law it just has to be proven within reasonable doubt. Bottom line is it means he did it.

Steve – I get that it’s NFL jargon for “GUILTY”, but all these sports radio hosts see it as ambiguity or lack of proof, which also BTW, drives me crazy.

Amen Don, WTG. You make us die hard fans so PROUD! Go Phins!

“Very QB friendly. Bad balls get caught.”

Even if most of the competition won’t end up playing the NFL, Parker sounds like the real deal. Hartline was Tanny’s go-to guy his first year for his ability to adjust to bad balls and make the tough catches. Parker’s got that plus a bunch of other high-end tools in his box.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

      Condor wings. 😉

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Can you see Parker getting doubled a lot? And still making the catch? RT shouldn’t go to the well too often when in double+ coverage, but if single covered, he’s open throw it up.

      • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Steve – Agreed, and when he’s doubled it’s gonna be tough to cover Still, Landry, & Cameron, or Ajayi out of the backfield.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I can’t wait to see Parker in our first preseason game.

  86. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

One of Parker’s weaknesses is lack of top end speed, but I don’t see it on tape as a weakness. This goes back to what I’ve said in the past that the 40 time isn’t the end all. Taller guys take longer to get out of the chute, so a taller guy that runs a 4.5 40 may have the same top end speed as a shorter 4.3 guy. I wonder if saying he lacks top end speed comes from looking at his 40 time.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

He ran a 4.45, so that’s no tortuga. I’m thinking they mean he doesn’t have that extra gear when running full speed, as Wallace does. No matter, Tannehill and Wallace couldn’t make that work anyway. This may be a better combination chemistry wise for the deep ball.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Top end speed isn’t just running routes, it’s also when the ball is in your hands after the catch. Wallace has never had any issues with top end speed, starting speed, play speed… Bottom line is Wallace is a great track athlete, that’s his best trait on the football field.

Anyone remember the game in 2013 where RT threw a hail mary that hit Wallace in the hands at the goal line that he dropped that would’ve won the game? Parker makes that catch.

      • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

My point was Wallace does have that extra gear.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I got that part, I was referring to your next statement.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

“This may be a better combination chemistry wise for the deep ball” We at least know that what Wallace offered deep didn’t match up with Tanny’s deep ball well. Wallace was great at getting open but not at adjusting to the ball. Now we have a taller WR who can adjust. Even if he doesn’t get open as much deep……..

#Dolphins fourth-round G Jamil Douglas did a good job blocking second-round DT Jordan Phillips in one-on-one drills.

    ————————————
We need to be careful how we evaluate Douglas based on how he does head to head with Phillips, considering Phillips has a bad rap to not go all out on every play. I haven’t heard any issues yet with Phillips in this camp, I just won’t get too excited when I here what Douglas is doing against him.

With that said it’s still a good sign. Douglas is a natural in a ZBS.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

It’s hard to say until you have a baseline of going against a player you are familiar with. Is Phillips going against Douglas a show down btwn a King and a Jack or a six and a seven? We’ll find out a lot more come camp when they are matched up against people like Suh and Pouncey.

Until you stand next to him, you really can’t get a true feel for how big he really is.

And that’s Andy Cohen talking. I trust his voice on the Phins more than any other reporter (unfortunately that does not include the guy who took over at the Digest, how is a bit of a homer). Plus he has played in the NFL and covered the team for years……he’s seen a lot of big dudes.

+All I keep hearing is how little 1 PSI makes, and it shouldn’t tarnish his legacy and and also, the wording that the NFL uses, “He probably was aware”. I don’t really get why they use that jargon, but it doesn’t make him any less guilty of the crime.”

mike e, totally agree and whats more the idiots that are saying that dont get how worse that make tom cheaty look. so what, he went and fucking cheated but did it with something that didnt really matter if he cheated or not. that just makes him look like a fool. it would be like a pitcher in football putting stickum on his fingers so he walks every batter but says ok you caught me but it really hurt me it didnt help me
