A look at our Running Backs

The way I see it, the unit that is the closest to being a complete unknown other than our offensive line, is our running back group. We’ve assembled a few pieces, a few with similar skill sets, and really, not one clear number one guy that at least on paper looks to receive the lions share of carries. In today’s NFL, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Many teams have RB by committee and our Head Coach, Mike McDaniel employed his running backs in that very same manner across the country in San Francisco as run game coordinator. To further illustrate my point, the only back in our stable that came with 70 yards of a 1000 yard season was our last pickup, Sony Michel, who has played for the Patriots and Rams. In fact, discard the yardage stats, the only RB on our team who had more than 200 carries in a season is Sony Michel. At the moment, we have 7 RB’s on our roster, Sony Michel, Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert, Myles Gaskin, Salvon Ahmed, Zaquandre White and Gerrid Doaks. Since we have a FB on our roster, that means maybe 3-4 RB’s on the roster and a couple on the PS.

It’s going to be interesting to see if rookie UDFA Zaquandre White can develop quickly enough and show enough to stay on the roster. If we carry 3, that would be nearly impossible, but if we do carry 4 backs, I think White has a chance. Mostert is a speed guy and we will try to get him out in space to get big chunks of yardage. He will not be a bellcow back, only Michel even partially resembles that type of back. Edmonds is a very good receiving back who has caught more than 50 passes in a season and Myles Gaskin is very much the same, missing 50 by one with 49 receptions last season. Both Edmonds and Gaskin had 4 TD’s receiving each last season.

You look at some teams and you know they have a RB that will be getting tons of touches, especially carries. Najee Harris of the Steelers, Jonathan Taylor of the Colts, Antonio Gibson of the Commanders, and then you have the 2 hybrid backs who may as many receptions as carries like Alvin Kamara and Dalvin Cook. Sony Michel was 12th in rushing last season with 845 yards, Gaskin was next at #22 with 612 yards. This is why when you look at our team, and try to figure out who’s going to do what, besides the numerous questions about the O-line, the runni9ng backs are really the next biggest question. On defense, we couldn’t be any more set, everyone has their place. At WR, and even TE, we know who who the top 3 WR’s are, and we know the top 3 TE’s. Will the O-line stay with Terron Armstead at LT, Liam Eichenberg at LG, Connor Williams at C, Robert Hunt at RG and Austin Jackson at RT? Will we just play the hot hand at RB each week or will we rotate backs so often there will never really be a top back?

I wouldn’t say I’m concerned about run game, much of that will actually depend on the aforementioned O-line and its success in our new outside zone blocking scheme, which employs lots of movement, and a lot of choreographed movements, so guys need to be where they’re supposed to be or else! I know a lot fo us were hoping for a top tier RB in this year’s draft and oddly enough it was the Jets who ending up getting one of the best RB’s in the draft in Breece Hall. Instead, we traded for one of the most dynamic WR’s in the NFL, and in turn settled for a collection of decent running backs, not one 1000 yard back (which in a 16 or 17 game season isn’t all that impressive anyway). I think the depth chart at RB will constantly morph as players get banged up and considering Sony Michel is really the closest player to a bellcow back, I’d guess he’ll get the most carries, but not necessarily the most touches. A short passing game with RB’s is essentially the same as a running game and something Tua excels at since he delivers a quick, accurate ball. I think Mostert and Edmonds may catch more passes than they have carries while Michel will lead the rushing attack. I’d love to see Zaquandre White make the team because there’s nothing like a hungry young back that runs with ferocity. Training Camp is just a few days away, so we may just get some idea about what’s happening with our RB’s, or we may have to wait until preseason or later. It’s going to be fun to watch no matter what.

The problem is the vitriol in the country is boiling and two people who divide us is not a good thing to me. That doesn’t end up as doing everything that’s good for the American people. They divide families and friends. If people can turn away from the slander and focus on policies, maybe we have a chance.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Brother, I’m afraid that ship has sailed. The outright DIVIDE has become too great at this point. The communists are now in charge of the Democrat party, and that’s the whole problem.

Truthfully speaking, the GOP has moved so far to the left that even JFK would be considered an ULTRA MAGA today.

Our country is selling itself out to foreign interests in this global economy and WE THE PEOPLE are about to be merged into the NWO.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Look at it like a federation. We’ve been heading towards the NWO for many decades now. Forget the conspiracy theory stuff, it’s real. The wealthy elite controls how things work. Always will. It’s no different than the animal kingdom which we are a part of. It’s the natural evolution of a species to do what they can to survive. The best way to overthrow a society is to get them at each other’s throats. That is happening. We’ll all be dead before we see the new frontier and even then we will have the same problems. It’s part of this thing called life.

Nobody is going to stop it.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

        THANK YOU, SIR!

I (along with several others) have been labeled as a “conspiracy theorist” here (I mean, back to Omar’s blog to the F-ME to here) for well over a decade, when it comes to the NWO.

YUP… the WEF and their ilk don’t even hide it anymore. They openly discuss the NWO and their agenda now — made for public digestion — worldwide. Scary when ya think about it… they think it’s too late for us to do anything about it, hence their bragging about it now. Read their “Agenda 2030”.

There’s no “I told ya so!” coming from me, rather… y’all should have listened before it got to this point in our country. Failure to listen to others is one of the biggest problems right now in our country. Now, people are going to learn the hard way from their arrogant ignorance and blissful pride… and it’s sad to me.

        I tried… but I ultimately failed. 😦

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

It’s interesting but we have some contracts that will be coming up in the next couple of years. Roquan Smith is a really good LB. But I’m kind of hoping another Georgia guy in Channing Tindall is the same type of player. They have very similar physical traits.

You have to trade draft picks and/or players to acquire him. I do not think that’s a position we must go all in on. Baker is very good and a 3 down player and we may have found another one in Tindall. If we trade for a disgruntled player I want it to be on the OL.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I agree that there’s no reason to ‘HAVE TO HAVE’ Roquan. But yes, it IS interesting! 🙂

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I don’t think adding another box/sideline to sideline LB is what we need to become a top team. We need to score more points. Our defense as they are will make their plays.

I thought just out of curiosity that I would go back and read some of the very first articles
about McDaniel when he was hired by Miami,
just to see what national guys were saying about his fit with our 2021 roster etc.
before most of those fascinating additions to the roster were even made,
some before he was hired, but being considered,
and a couple just gee whiz type stuff before Flores was even gone,
just articles about how dynamic the SF offense had become,
the phenomenal Mostert game against Green Bay for example
or the demolishing of the Cowboys defense with Deebo scoring
the very first rushing TD in a playoff game in SF history.
    … …
They show or tell what the Dolphins would need to do or acquire to get the roster to work in McDaniel’s system.

  38. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Head coach Mike McDaniel addressed the media before the Miami Dolphins headed out to practice at the Baptist Health Training Complex on Wednesday morning.

    — Asked about Byron Jones, McDaniel says the cornerback is fully expecting to be ready for Week 1 and everybody will be taking a cautious approach.

    — As it relates to veterans, there will be a handful of guys who will taking part in only portions of practice, focusing on what they need to work on and what they need to protect themselves from. McDaniel adds every player’s rep counts will be monitored and adjusted daily. Certainly would expect players like Terron Armstead and Xavien Howard to be among those players and maybe somebody like Melvin Ingram.

    — In terms of practice, full-speed effort and intensity on every rep is what McDaniel wants and that might mean shorter practices, but he doesn’t want anybody ever “going through the motions.”

    — First question about Tua and how McDaniel wants him to approach practice, “deliberate intent on each play.” McDaniel says Tua is “super hard on himself,” but anything in excess is not helpful. Wants him not to let a negative play linger.

    — Regarding Noah Igbinoghene, McDaniel calls it a “tremendous opportunity” with Byron Jones missing the start of camp. “More reps against Tyreek Hill doesn’t hurt anybody … unless they have confidence issues.”

    — In terms of captains, McDaniel says he will not decide on those players. McDaniel says he appreciates democracy in general and the best players are best equipped to pick those guys. Says “captains are vessels, captains are examples” in terms of setting an example and setting a tone.

    — Terron Armstead will practice Wednesday, but will be limited.

    — Regarding the acquisition of Mohamed Sanu, McDaniel said it was an opportunity to add a veteran he knew. Mentions Sanu’s experience and intangibles as being valuable for a young team.

    — About Tyreek Hill constantly pumping Tua’s tires in interviews, McDaniel said a coach always appreciates players having each other’s backs. “If Tyreek is saying it, it’s because he believes it.” Says the two are developing a great relationship and Tyreek believing in his quarterback is a good thing.

  39. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

for example an article from February 7, the day after McDaniel signed with Miami, …
Among other things, it mentions SF using a lot of “pulling tackles” instead of pulling guards.
Of course this is how it is an outside zone instead of an inside zone, since tackles are more agile and capable of targeting LBs on the run in space.
    The article says,
“There will undoubtedly be concerns about whether their (Miami’s) current personnel can run this scheme, but the ideas fall into place.”

Boom! so we went and got one of the fastest LTs in history in Armstead, and this should also be good reason for moving Austin Jackson from LG to RT, as he is agile and quick of foot; he just sucked at drive blocking and passive pass-pro sets.

  40. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

This article also describes how McDaniel lines up in an 11 package with one TE and one RB, but his motion guy moves into the backfield and suddenly the D is facing a heavy 21 without the proper match in the box.

High praise “was sent over by 49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk tonight when I asked about Mike McDaniel landing the Dolphins job.”
    The article continues,
‘As mentioned earlier, the outside zone scheme prioritizes getting out in front of defenders and the importance of lead blockers. Therefore, the fullback is among the most significant components in effectively operating the Mike McDaniel offense. In addition, Juszczyk and others have been used a variety of looks, getting outside and up to the second level, further sealing off second-level defenders for the backs. When combined with pulling blockers and strong wide receiver blocking, San Francisco provided a barrage of explosive run plays.’

Pretty sure the signing of Sanu prompted the release of Core,
        not the other way around.
My point is that Sanu and Williams are very similar players (so was Core),
and maybe we don’t need two of the same,
especially with Ezukanma and Ced Wilson also on the team.
but Sanu has had much more success in the league than any of those guys.
Having worked with Sanu before surely influenced them signing him,
and Sanu knowing what is expected of WRs in the McDaniel offense will help him over Williams.

That article from February also commented:

… An important role for WR’s in the Mike McDaniel offense.

Throughout McDaniel’s press conferences, it’s clear that one of the core values of this scheme is timely blocking from wide receivers. With a unit that prioritizes getting outside, it only makes sense that they expect nothing from the best from their perimeter blockers.

Their draft philosophy has consisted of getting big, physical receivers like Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk, who thrive in run-blocking. In doing so, they can get out on tosses, zone runs, and screens, out-muscling the smaller DB’s.
    … …
When asked why he is seen as emphasizing WR blocking in the #49ers run game, McDaniel said,
    “You get what you emphasize.”
    … …
The lanes opened up by these bigger receivers are just one small part of the big picture, but they play a crucial role. Miami already has big receivers such as Mack Hollins and DeVante Parker and very well may target more this offseason.

Head coach Mike McDaniel addressed the media before the Miami Dolphins headed out to practice at the Baptist Health Training Complex on Wednesday morning.

Here were the highlights from McDaniel’s press conference:

    — Before the questions start, McDaniel agrees to be included in a selfie of all the reporters at camp.

    — McDaniel said there’s always energy on the first day of camp, but says he’s particularly excited about what this group has brought.

    — Discussing again the issue of energy, McDaniel says it’s up to the players to lift each other. Provides his time with the Atlanta Falcons as an example and an ugly loss against the Dolphins where the team dealt with adversity but was able to respond.

    — Regarding the O-line and the outside zone, McDaniel says it’s more about consistency than learning the concepts.

    PRACTICE TOP PERFORMERS
    — Cornerback Trill Williams had the biggest play of practice when he picked off a Teddy Bridgewater pass near the sideline and took off in the other direction for what would have been a touchdown.

    — Edge defender Jaelan Phillips was a factor in the pass rush, getting into the backfield twice on plays that might have ended in a sack in an actual game.

    — This will come as great news, Noah Igbinoghene batting away a Tua Tagovailoa pass intended for Tyreek Hill in one-on-one coverage near the sideline. The enthusiastic reaction from Dolphins defenders on the sideline was cool to see.

    — Rookie fourth-round pick Erik Ezukanma had a nice catch over the middle and ended practice with a leaping grab on a deep pass from Skylar Thompson near the sideline, though it was impossible to tell whether he came down with the ball in bounds (there were no officials at practice to rule on the play).

    QB WATCH
Because it’s training camp, we need to talk about the quarterback performances every practice.

    — Tagovailoa’s first pass was a nice completion for Tyreek Hill that would have gone for about 15 yards, but there weren’t many other highlights in team drills. He did have a nifty over-the-top corner throw to Hill against two defenders, but that came in a 7-on-7 period.

    — Bridgewater had the most impressive completions in team drills, including throws to rookie fourth-round pick Erik Ezukanma, Braylon Sanders and Jaylen Waddle over the middle, but in addition to the pick-six he threw, he also lofted a soft pass in the direction of Cedrick Wilson Jr. that allowed Keion Crossen to bat the pass away when Wilson appeared open.

    — Rookie seventh-round pick Skylar Thompson had a pretty uneventful day. His best throw was a completion over the middle to Waddle.

THE RETURN OF THE ORANGE JERSEY
Even though the Dolphins haven’t practiced since early June, Ingold practiced in the prestigious orange jersey.

It was a nod to the rehab work that allowed him to avoid starting training camp on PUP after he sustained a torn ACL while with the Las Vegas Raiders last November.

    SWEET

  52. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

The Dolphins began their first training camp under coach Mike McDaniel with a crisp 75-minute practice that featured considerable 11 on 11 work.

    STARS OF THE DAY
    ▪ Tyreek Hill, who had two chunk plays on throws from Tua Tagovailoa. On the first, Hill hauled in a 15-yard slant and scampered past defenders for a long gain, which might have gone a touchdown in a game. On the second, Tagovailoa threw a beautiful 30-yard sideline completion to Hill. Tagovailoa also completed a 15-yard pass over the middle to Jaylen Waddle. The Dolphins are definitely going to expose the middle of the field.

    ▪ Noah Igbinoghene, who deflected a Tagovailoa pass intended for Hill, and Trill Williams, who picked off Teddy Bridgewater and returned it for a touchdown. Igbinoghene and Williams are competing for the No. 4 cornerback job.

    ▪ Jaelan Phillips, who had two would-be sacks of Tagovailoa.

    ▪ On the first 11-on-11 play in training camp, Hill turned a short pass from Tagovailoa into a very long gain. Then Tagovailoa completed the sideline pass a short time later. If this is a harbinger of 2022, it will be an exciting season.

    ▪ New cornerback Keion Crossen made a pass breakup of a Teddy Bridgewater pass to Cedrick Wilson Jr. ▪ Igbinoghene jumped a route to Hill for his defection of Tagovailoa, and Williams ran about 35 yards for a TD on his pick of Bridgewater. Jevon Holland made a nice pass breakup on a Tagovailoa pass to Waddle.

    ▪ Tagovailoa faced heavy pressure on two of his first four drop backs. Otherwise, protection was decent, and Tagovailoa had a solid day.

    ▪ Newcomer Mohamed Sanu caught a 10-yard pass from Bridgewater.

    ▪ Skylar Thompson was off on a couple of passes.

    ▪ Though not permitted to report who lined up at what position on the offensive line, we stand by what we’ve reported since March: Barring injuries, the expectation is the line — from left to right — will be Terron Armstead, Liam Eichenberg, Connor Williams, Robert Hunt and Austin Jackson. Eichenberg and Jackson will need to hold off challengers, however.

    ▪ Waddle caught multiple passes from Tagovailoa and an intermediate pass from Bridgewater. And Tagovailoa connected with Wilson for a 15-yard gain.

    ▪ Bridgewater completed a 25-yard pass to Myles Gaskin, who ran for another 20 yards or so.

    ▪ Hill, Preston Williams, Waddle and DeVonte Dedmon handled returns.

    HEALTH UPDATE
Cornerback Byron Jones, who had offseason surgery in an area between the ankle and Achilles, is on the physically unable to perform list but expects to be ready for the start of the regular season. Jones and Elijah Campbell (non football injury list) were the only players not to participate in any portion of practice, though Campbell was working on the side.

    ▪ Left tackle Armstead (offseason knee surgery) participated in parts of practice, including 11-on-11 drills. ▪ Fullback Alec Ingold, who sustained a torn ACL in Week 10 for the Raiders last season, was somewhat involved after missing the offseason program in recovery mode. But he didn’t participate in 11-on-11 drills.

    ▪ Raheem Mostert, fully cleared after his Week 1 knee injury last season, played limited reps and was wearing a black compression sleeve on his leg but is moving around well. Sony Michel’s reps also were limited. Defensive tackle Adam Butler didn’t appear to be practicing.

    —————————-

Mike McDaniel quickly opened the door that led him to the media conference room and scurried up to the podium settled for him Wednesday morning. The abrupt entrance stunned the several dozen media members gathered for the first day of training camp. Moments later, the 39-year-old posed for a photo with the gathered media.

As abnormal as the entrance and christening of his first training camp as head coach was, it was fitting for a person who through five months on the job has eschewed the stereotypical traits attributed to a football coach.

The Dolphins held their first of 18 training camp practices under McDaniel on Wednesday, as the first-time head coach continued to set the tone and leave his imprint on the team. “This group, in particular, I was very excited about the way they came back,” McDaniel said before practice. “In terms of mission-oriented, day-to-day operation, getting better, but a thirst for competitiveness, they’re fully understanding how much they owe their teammates, the organization, the fans. They’re owning it and I can feel the energy.”

The team’s first summer session ahead of the 2022 NFL season — one rife with expectations after an active offseason — built off the work the team conducted during organized team activities and minicamp. It consisted of staples of a McDaniel-led practice — such as the orange practice player of the day jersey, donned by fullback Alec Ingold — and some wrinkles.

A shorter-than-usual session ended after about 80 minutes, with a focus on high-intensity individual and team drills. “Our job is to maximize the athlete at his craft,” McDaniel explained. “So my personal philosophy, the one that we’re imploring here, is that we have full speed, effort and intensity on all the plays in practice … it’s built towards there’s no such thing as just going through the motions. When we practice, we want to practice with an intent and a purpose and a speed and veracity that separates ourselves from the rest of the league.”

The first day of camp consisted of the highs and lows you tend to see from each side of the ball during several sessions throughout late July and August. On the first play of 11-on-11 drills, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa found wide receiver Tyreek Hill on a 15-yard slant route, as the oft-dissected pairing continued to develop their rapport. Tagovailoa later dropped a pinpoint pass downfield into the hands of Hill with two defenders in coverage.

Later in team drills, reserve defensive backs Noah Igbinoghene and Trill Williams stepped up with standout plays; Igbinoghene deflected a pass from Tagovailoa to Hill alongside the defensive sideline that got a raucous reaction from his teammates. In the next session, Williams came away with a pick-six of backup Teddy Bridgewater after wrestling the ball from a receiver.

“I think overall, it was a good first day of practice,” Tagovailoa said. “Obviously, there are things that we can work on. But, it’s the best when you get to come back, you get back out on the field, throw to the guys, see coverage again, get back in the groove of things. I think once you get into your rhythm, that’s when things start to click on both sides of the ball.”

The first day of camp won’t make or break a team’s championship aspirations and McDaniel acknowledged the goal over the next month-plus is to maintain a level of energy and consistency that will allow his team to combat whatever adversity may arrive in the fall. “When somebody is down, the standard and the demand to bring them up is very present,” he said. “It’s a long process, but the good teams embrace that.”

“[McDaniel has] always been positive,” cornerback Xavien Howard said. “Bringing the energy, that what it’s all about, especially from the head coach. Once you see it from the head coach, it trickles down.”

Cross dressing (especially men dressing in women’s clothing) has been a form of art and recreation and social commentary for many centuries.
In Shakespeare’s time (the 1500s), they’d have whole castles or estates join in the fun, with the men dying their beards in newly outrageous colors like orange and purple, tied into pigtails or braided etc. That and a bunch of beer and live music was known as a great party.
Then the Puritans came along and said men were wearing their hair too long and listening to sinful (non church) music, and so they got very short hair cuts and became called the Roundheads.
The Puritans thought only they were right and Godly, so they burned theatres and books and killed the king so as to make everyone act straight and conformist.
They put a preacher up in charge of England instead.
The people grew tired of having no fun, so after about 15 years, they rejected the Puritans, chased them out of the country, and invited the dead king’s son to come back and restart the country.
Unfortunately, the Puritans had no place to go but the New World where they started part of the US.
They changed the name of the church from Puritan because it had such a bad rep, but they are still among us.

If I tried to doll up, even Jesus be like “Dude, no…”

I have been to Key West though, several times, even got to see a parade one time.
Me personally being hetero, I would rather the floats were decorated with hot women in bikinis (some were) than hot guys in thongs and jock straps (most were like that).
But everybody was in good spirits, very friendly, laughing and joking around, and nobody seemed to have their spirits crushed or their masculinity threatened. I was still in love with my wife even after seeing tons of hot near-naked guys wearing facial make up.

    However,
There are seedy dives that are completely hetero, biker bars, ghetto shooting galleries, etc. that I would never take a child into, so i could see a limit to what we want to expose children to.

  83. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

Whew Tim, I get that you don’t want any religion telling you how to live, and certainly many religious figures in both Catholic and Baptist churches have abused children, but one of the beliefs of liberals is to keep church and state separate and to reduce the cultish angle of religious institutions. I don’t see defending religious zealots as being part of the liberal agenda. Seems like libs want to REDUCE the powerful impact and negative influence of religion, not support it.
    … …
I personally am a strong Methodist, so I just want to make sure to keep some other church from gaining control of the government and then attacking me in vengeful dominance.
    … …
Actually, I don’t even want the US to be the United Methodist States of America. Religion should not be a part of government, as it makes them both just that much more powerful and exclusionary.

Head coach Mike McDaniel addressed the media before the Miami Dolphins headed out to practice at the Baptist Health Training Complex on Thursday morning.

Here were the highlights from McDaniel’s press conference:

    — First question deals with Connor Williams playing center, McDaniel said the Dolphins signed him as an offensive lineman not a center, per se, but his skill set made him well suited to play center.

    — Having Williams at center doesn’t preclude the team from exploring avenues to make the roster as good as possible when circumstances dictate. Translation: If Williams falters at center, yes, the Dolphins would consider adding somebody currently not on the roster.

    — On the issue of play-calling, McDaniel confirms he’ll be speaking directly to Tua Tagovailoa on game day. McDaniel says he’s working on this every day.

    — On the issue of being aggressive situationally, such as going for it on fourth down, McDaniel says he’s not going to give a blanket answer. In other words, don’t expect him to be another Brandon Staley, the Chargers coach who went for it on fourth down an unusually large number of times in 2021. All that said, McDaniel calls himself “aggressive.”

    — Melvin Ingram III practiced for the first time Wednesday and convinced the defensive coaches to let him work in team drills when the plan was for him to hold off on that for a bit. McDaniel very obviously liked that mind-set from Ingram. Despite his low sack numbers the past couple of years, McDaniel says Ingram had a lot of impact, including as a run defender. Says he’s excited to see his production moving forward.

    — McDaniel called it “very challenging” the idea of balancing of having short practices to keep players fresh while also having getting as ready as possible for the season.

    — The offensive line provided encouragement for McDaniel in the spring with the way the players dealt with the highs and lows.

    — Recapping Day 1 of camp, McDaniel said he was very happy because it was a “purposeful practice.” Says the practice put the team in position to be better on Day 2.

Tim, Your religion is atheism and there are as many fucked up atheist pedophiles sexually abusing children while you’re raving about other religions. Personally, I believe pedophiles should be tried, convicted and executed expeditiously.

Naples – I don’t have a problem with adults and drag shows, even if it’s not my bag. I been to them, seen the parades, etc. Whatever. But they have one thing in common and that’s they are always over-sexualized. And no one should be okay with a drag show being put on for children regardless of the child’s age.

    • naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

I must say that I’ve never been to a drag show. No interest. I mean I get it’s sexy, but …
But then I’m not interested in tractor-pulls either, even though I like big engines and farm fresh produce.
I don’t think people under age 21 should be allowed into strip clubs though, even though I think strip clubs are a national treasure.
People need a certain amount of maturity before being exposed to just about everything.
Teen guys in a strip club would tend to believe that all women are mere objects that exist for their viewing pleasure instead of cherishing the rare glimpse into the taboo that a 30 year old guy would get a kick out of at a strip club and then go home horny for his wife.
So yeah I agree it’s inappropriate to take an 8 year old to a drag show. Unless it’s his dad.

The Miami Dolphins’ second training camp practice featured a mix of 11 on 11 drills and 7 on 7 passing drills and mundane special teams work.

Some highlights on a day that the quarterbacks played pretty well: STARS OF THE DAY ▪ Receiver Jaylen Waddle: He had a spectacular leaping catch over rookie cornerback Kader Kodu on a high throw from Teddy Bridgewater, then took a crossing pattern from Tua Tagovailoa in 7 on 7s for a sizable gain and then made additional catches for chunk yardage.

Waddle has had a very strong start to camp. On Thursday, he wore an orange jersey given to the player who was the standout of the previous day’s practice.
    ▪ Chase Edmonds: Though it’s difficult to assess a running game in non-tackling drills without pads, Edmonds displayed good burst on multiple runs for the second day in a row. He hits a hole hard. Every rushing attempt has been a positive one. And he’s also an asset as a receiver, a skill he displayed on Thursday.

    ▪ Tyreek Hill: He’s on the list virtually every day, with a handful of chuck plays. He did have one drop, and banged on his head in frustration.
    ▪ Jevon Holland: The talented second-year safety broken up two passes. He’s always around the ball.
    PLAYS OF THE DAY
    ▪ Waddle’s leaping catch early in the practice.
    ▪ Holland broke up well-thrown sideline pass from Tagovailoa to rookie receiver Erik Ezukanma in 11 on 11 drills.

    ▪ Hill made a leaping sideline catch of a Tagovailoa throw on a play covering 25 yards.
    ▪ Tino Ellis had a great breakup of a Skylar Thompson deep pass. NOTABLE
    ▪ Tagovailoa was sharp with his accuracy on a dozen throws and didn’t throw an interception for the second day in a row. But he threw two near interceptions — one on a pass over the middle that cornerback Nik Needham nearly hauled in and another that safety Brandon Jones had a good chance to snag.

Tagovailoa completed a pass that traveled 45 air yards to Tyreek Hill; the ball was underthrown and Hill had to come back to catch the pass, but it was a completion all the same.
Instead of forcing a mistake, he smartly threw the ball away on one play when nobody was open and a pass rush was in his face. Last season, Tagovailoa threw too many picks with pressure in his face.
    ▪ Myles Gaskin, very much on the bubble, maximized several rushing opportunities. Sony Michel, his prime competition for the No. 3 job, had a long run. And Gerrid Doaks, a long shot to stick, picked up a first down on a throw from Bridgewater.

    ▪ With Emmanuel Ogbah across from him, Greg Little jumped offsides and was called for a penalty. Little is competing with Larnel Coleman, Kellen Dietsch and others for a backup offensive tackle job.
    ▪ Second-year tight end Hunter Long had one his better camp practices as a Dolphin, catching multiple passes for sizable gains. He’s competing with Adam Shaheen for snaps behind Mike Gesicki and Durham Smythe. Shaheen’s roster spot could be at risk if Long continues to develop.

    ▪ Preston Williams dropped a long pass from Bridgewater, the ball falling off his fingertips. ▪ Rookie running back ZaQuandre White dropped a perfect throw from Skylar Thompson on a crossing pattern.
    ▪ Lynn Bowden Jr., battling for the fifth and sixth receiver jobs, was among those working as returners.

    ▪ Jason Sanders made several field goals without a miss, including one from 52 yards.
    ▪ Bridgewater needed better touch on a sideline pass to Trent Sherfield, which was incomplete. It would have been a very difficult catch.
    ▪ There were center/quarterback problems involving Thompson and young backup centers.

    AVAILABILITY REPORT
    ▪ Center Michael Deiter and defensive tackle Adam Butler were not spotted at practice; both are nursing undisclosed injuries.
    ▪ Left tackle Terron Armstead and running back Raheem Mostert, both coming off knee surgeries, were given practice off as part of their management programs. Both have been cleared to play.
    ▪ Cornerback Byron Jones – who had March surgery in an area around his ankle and Achilles – remains on the physically unable to perform list but intends to be ready for the regular season opener.
