I am starting to agree that call on Bridgewater was punitive.

  2. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

If I’m coach, I instill a new protocol the QB must follow every time he’s knocked to the ground, and I’ll call it the Jim Brown technique.

Jim Brown used to get up slowly after every single hit so the opposing team would never know when they had hurt him. It was all part of his imposing dominating presence and persona.

  3. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I’m not ready to buy into all the conspiracy stuff with the NFL but they do things that make fans think there is and that’s a problem.

  4. Ken's avatar Ken says:

I don’t think the protocol decision on Bridgewater was punitive I just think it was overreacting

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Gotta wonder when no other player got taken out with an overreaction

      • Ken's avatar Ken says:

No other player appears to have suffered a head injury. Not that Teddy did but some dope thought he observed otherwise

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

You dont think any other player across the league had a hit worse than teddy did on that play? That is why I’m starting to question it. Pretty crazy only the dolphins on their first play had a guy removed this way…

      • Ken's avatar Ken says:

I don’t think it was that and I do believe across the league other people went into protocol but above I was specifically speaking to our game

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I could be wrong, but I think ours was the only game where a spotter initiated concussion protocol…and on our 1st play.

I didnt think it was punitive when rock was calling it that on game day, but upon further review, I’ve overturned my call on the field. 😉

  5. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Ultimately the process should be collaborative with not just the team physician, the UNC or the spotter having sole power to hold someone out

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

All the spotter should do is forward the tape to the docs involved for inclusion in their determination. It’s still ultimately a medical examination. Only Q is which doc or docs make the final call.

  6. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Sore loser, poor sport, etc, etc. NOT TRUE
The NFL absolutely without a question of a doubt fucked with the Dolphins and it was absolutely punitive. No one will ever convince me otherwise.

  7. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

The NFL is so unbelievably dumb about these things.

What was the root problem and how was the process insufficient?

The root problem was a loophole – a player who exhibited gross motor instability could be allowed back on the field if the ataxia was determined by the doctors to be for a reason other than a head injury. A judgement call by two doctors.

Pretty simple and straightforward explanation of the issue, right?

    So what is the solution?

The solution is we’ll give spotters the ability to determine a player has EXHIBITED ataxia and thereby remove that player from the game and be put into concussion protocol.

    What the actual fuck?!

Shouldn’t the solution be simply to remove the judgement call of the doctor in determining WHY the player exhibited ataxia? What the hell is so hard about that?!

  8. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

NOTHING is a conspiracy if true. And the facts seem to favor that we got FUCKED on Sunday regarding Teddy getting concussed.

I’m so tired of things being labeled a ‘conspiracy theory’. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, lays eggs like a duck, and flies like a duck… it’s certainly not the inanimate object that power brokers say it is. C’mon.

This goes for EVERYTHING in LIFE!

  9. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Phillies beat the Braves in game 1 and the Mariners are up 4 going into the bottom of the 7th.

So much of a team’s playoff success often depends on how that team is playing heading into the playoffs.

I wasn’t surprised by my Cards quick exit, nor the Mets. Neither team played well in the month of September. My Cards were actually pretty terrible the last month.

I don’t think the Mariners ever really had much chance, but for the Stros to come back in the 9th on them like that…forget about it, lol.

I’m actually rooting for Houston in the AL. I want to see them vs LA at the end. I like the potential for a great series with that combo.

Coach says that there’s a chance Tua is cleared for the game Sunday but since he will have not been on a football field in two weeks that it’s not fair to the player or the team to ask him to play. Coach doesn’t feel comfortable putting Tua in that situation.

  25. Wyoming85's avatar Wyoming85 says:

OH I hadn’t even thought about that!

    • ukfinfan's avatar ukfinfan says:

He had virtually no reps with the 1st team, no QB to lean on, the full play book (in theory) to choose from and he was facing a defence that no doubt played on all the above to bait, trick and bamboozle him. He stayed with it until Q4 when the wheels came off the whole team and the Jets D could pin its ears back and go flat out for the QB. He did remarkably well for a rookie. I think we should see some further improvement on Sunday.

    Daaaammnn!!

Vikings are in some serious trouble. Dolphins ain’t playing…ping pong…

  28. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

Defense against Cousins and Dalvin is the key.
If Dalvin gets 150 yards, we’re toast.
If Cousins gets 300 yards, ditto.

Cornerback and quarterback are the 2 most important positions on any team,
and we’re down to third stringers, UDFAs or late rounders
at both for the same game.

    That’s a lot to overcome.

Somebody else has got to rise up and make a play.

  29. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

I think the removal of the ping pong table is a really good and sneaky important thing.

I thought it was a bad idea in the first place and a symbol of how I thought we were showing over-confidence.

Do you have a ping pong table in your office?
Do you want your doctors playing ping pong while at work?
Shouldn’t they be reading up on the latest research?

  30. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

So having Hill lead other captains to remove it can be a “ok, let’s get serious” symbol.
A tangible yet harmless emblem of re-focusing.

It might be a stretch and a coincidence, but I take it as another indication of McDaniel’s genius at handling men.

He could’ve put his foot down and said “no, that’ll be a distraction” in the first place (Maybe he should’ve) but, especially as a first year coach, he let the team leaders have it as a reward for working hard preseason and a team-builder considering all the new guys on our team.

Now he can “let” them remove it, again allowing the team leaders to lead in a positive way, and it can be a sobering moment for everyone to realize, “hey having a great season isn’t gong to be easy; we need to get laser focused.”

Naples, IMO, that would need to be our defensive front 7.

Cousins throwing 300 doesn’t worry me as much as Cook going for 150. We need to contain Cook first and foremost. The more Cousins throws the more he is prone to make mistakes. He can make some bad throws in bunches once you rattle him.

I think Adam Thielen may have lost a step (don’t quote me on that). He doesn’t have a 100 yard game yet this season and only 1 TD. He is more of a possession/1st down go to guy.

Key to this game is contain RB Cook and WR Jefferson. Pressure Cousins. PROTECT SKYLAR!

  35. Wyoming85's avatar Wyoming85 says:

I think I counted all 4 at practice today?

  36. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

In total yards, Vikings D is #24 and Dolphins are #25. The Vikings run defense is worse than ours and gives up an average of 120 yards per game. We need to exploit that. Especially with Armstead out for this game. We need to wear them out and make their DB’s cramp up. It shows sunny and 85 at game time.

Vikings have some good DB’s in Patrick Peterson and Cameron Dantzler. Dantzler is a big physical corner and a tackling machine. I was pounding the table for us to draft him in 2020 and we took Iggy instead. We need to wear them down running the ball.

We need to play them the way Philly did. They contained Cook and Jefferson. Cousins ended up throwing 3 picks that game.

  42. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Not being political but just don’t know what to believe.

International Climate Science Coalition Executive Director Tom Harris, a climate alarmist, says the current climate argument is a scam. Says CO2 emissions are not the reason for temperature change and that in times when the Earth was at its coldest the CO2 levels were at its highest. Some cases, CO2 was 1300% of today but the Earth was colder. Climate scares are based on models that don’t work. It’s being blown up and politicians are using it as a scare tactic and promising to fix it to get votes.

I don’t know what to think or believe about climate change anymore.

I don’t have concerns about climate change as much as I do about pollution. I can’t stand it. When I see garbage on the side of the road, on the beach or in the water when I am fishing, it just blows me up. Seems to be worse around here over the last 5 years.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I’ve always been skeptical about the climate change alarmists and especially the politicians. But I’m really not knowledgeable enough to speak on it one way or the other.

Your last paragraph is real though. That we can see for ourselves. Humans are disgusting. They leave garbage everywhere even when their are garbage cans near by. It’s the same mentality people have when leaving shopping carts in parking spots when the place to put the carts is a few feet away. Just laziness or they simply just don’t care.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

This is the lower class mentality, they have pride in very little, because they’ve earned very little

They don’t seem to get the what goes around concept

For example at a left turn light, if they’re up front they leave a big space with the car in front, but when they’re in the back they’re bitching as those in front to move it

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Same ones that agree with the climate change argument are the the ones polluting the most on average, just look at pollution by area

The amount of C02 in the air isn’t related to avg temp, don’t think anyone claims it is, the argument (I believe falsely) says it raises the current avg temps,, but no proof

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

There is an unquestionable spike in the rise in carbon in the atmosphere during the Industrial Age. In particular the latter half of the 20th century. Below is a link from an article by NASA showing the large spike in carbon essentially beginning around 1950:
      https://climate.nasa.gov/climate_resources/24/graphic-the-relentless-rise-of-carbon-dioxide/

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

No one is debating that, what we are is if the rise in CO2 is related to rising temps

      • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I don’t deny the huge spike in CO2 emissions. Many of the scientists are coming to the conclusion (now) that CO2 emissions and temperature increase are not related. What is it then? Like Tim, I just don’t know enough about it.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

If they really cared about CO2, they’d go harder at China and India, instead of pandering to them

      • Ken's avatar Ken says:

The material I read is that 95% of researchers in the field of climate change are of the opinion that co2 admissions are responsible for the rise in temperatures. The rise in temperatures corresponds directly with the increase in manufacturing and co2 emissions. Even large oil/energy companies have acknowledged and accepted global warming is byproduct of co2 emissions. It is why many of them have begun research into alternative fuels. I am not making this as a political but rather as a concern over the future of our planet

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Come on you’re smarter, than that

They are of the opinion that…

A good friend of mine has a brother in law, that is one of these scientists, he says they have to give that opinion to further their funding

Temp on earth is always changing, to think we have an effect on that is naive

  43. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Ken, I don’t think climate concerns should ever be political. It effects all of us.

After reading a bit about that organization and its Exec Dir (a mechanical enigineer btw) have come up with an analogy. If going to debate whether the earth is flat or not on a cable news show…. someone from the Flat Earth Society will be on the screen.

That does not mean a whole bunch of geographers think the earth is flat.

  46. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

The new concussion rules look like a mess so far

First of all what’s the deal with lingering clearance when some one hasn’t been diagnosed with a concussion?

If some one actually doesn’t have a concussion according to medical experts why aren’t they instantly medically cleared to play?

    WTF is going on?

  47. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

As far as ping pong tables in the work place it’s actually very common. I worked at an agency with one years ago. It was to clear your head as you were trying to come up with creative ideas. Yessir! And we need our O-Line starters to stay healthy. Hoping Terron Armstead is good to go this week.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

McDaniel is very high on Mostert. Edmonds has been inconsistent and I think Gaskin getting into the game was a message to Edmonds. He had some key drops. McDaniel is learning what his team is with the injuries and who to rely on. He started off relying on mostly vets which is smart. Maybe we start seeing some younger players work their way in. The issue at QB probably stunted that.

  52. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I’ve always been a fan of Gaskin since he won the job out of camp as an after thought. He always plays hard and he can do a lot of things.

  53. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I wanted us to sign 49er’s F/A RB Jeff Wilson Jr, 6′ 213, before we even signed Edmonds. He ended up resigning with the 49er’s. He has been solid. He had 17 carries for 120 and a TD this past weekend and is averaging 5.1 a carry this season. Along with Mostert, he already knew this offense for the most part.

You should’ve just stuck with the same logic you used, when you said why we lost to jets😁

The team we had on the field, when we won, was good enough to win

        I don’t think we’re better than Buffalo

We’ve speculated on this board that Snyder must know where the bodies are buried or he’d have been forced out already. This could get fun…

Okay I reread that again and second time it makes more sense …

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I had to read it twice also. Maybe I should read it a third time. I’m still not sure. LOL. I’m going to just bring enough cash so I don’t have to worry. Is it 55 x 2 = 110 x 1.2 = 132.00. (Each return you said) the the 20% on top ($22) ?

Or is it 55 total plus 20% 66.00
Or you said it includes a mandatory 20% tip so if it’s included then it would be. 55 or 110…

So yeah maybe you didn’t type it too clearly lol

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

So not to show my cards and potentially get taken advantage of, I will be prepared to pay anywhere between 55 and 132….😂
