In retrospect, it really rubs me the wrong way that our Offensive game plan against the Stealers* was for Tua to get rid of the ball ASAP… as in under 1.5 seconds fast.
Know what that tells me? We have NO FAITH in our O-Line to protect him, advertising a weakness to the opposing team. So even before halftime, the Stealers* were protecting the middle of field, keeping our passing game honest.
See, in order to deliver a bomb, Tua would need +2.5 seconds of protection to get it off… I think we tried that one time all game and went incomplete.
Our O-Line MUST get better at pass-pro, and fast. Seems our O-Line is finally coming together as a unit in terms of run-blocking, and Raheem Mostert is making the most out of it.
That’s the passing game we want to run, quick passes to get YAC. You take your shots deep when you feel the time has presented itself. I saw Tua have time to survey the field for potential big plays. Maybe they just weren’t there. We allowed no sacks and had no turnovers. Even in a blah low scoring game which it was against the Steelers, you win that game most of the time winning the TO battle 3-0.
Those of us who play FF know that the NFL has been low scoring thus far. FF leagues are below the normal scoring. It’s a reflection of the NFL games. Only a handful of teams and players are scoring a good amount of points consistently.
Thing about Eich is that he only played Tackle in college and almost all of his rookie year, so maybe the coaches think he is learning to play OG as fast as a guy can.
“After redshirting his first year at Notre Dame in 2016, Eichenberg played in five games as a backup in 2017. He took over as the starting left tackle in 2018 and started every game for them until 2020.” — Wikipedia
He didn’t allow a single sack his last two years in college. (actually his last 30 games)
He’s 6’6 310, which is a prototypical Tackle body, not guard. But we want very quick guards, so that should be good.
Naples, funny you said Wilson looked shaky when I thought he looked pretty good and I thought he’d found himself an opening to more chances. I saw soft hands sure hands not two bricks like Grant lol
Stanger, Detroit only lost to undefeated Eagles 38-35, the 5-1 Vikings 28-24, NFC West leader Seahawks 48-45 and was only down 10-6 going into the 4th quarter at Dallas.
Those last 2 games were on the road. They are much better than their record shows.
They throw to their TE’s/RB’s a lot and run the ball at least 22 times a game. They probably end up with 75% of their touches.
One of their losses, can’t remember which, Dan Campbell said he was the reason they lost, play call I think to go for it instead of taking a FG maybe. Can’t remember the details. So there’s that.
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown has been banged up and suffered a potential concussion on Sunday and left the game but I believe he already showed no symptoms. He’s their best WR so keep an eye on his status. But this new concussion protocol is already taking players out of games when they don’t have concussions. We knew this was coming.
Every election will be accused of being rigged by the party that lost. That’s the new fangled way. The voice of the people is no longer acceptable. There must be a mistake or corruption involved. The fact that voting in 2022 is still difficult for some people and considered corrupt by others tells you all you need to know about politicians and their hardcore supporters. Neither side can handle losing.
Voting should be really easy with the technology we have today. People do banking, investments, purchase goods, order food, get deliveries and communicate business with the use of a phone. But we still have trouble voting. If that’s not a red flag I don’t know what is.
That’s another thing, why do any of us who were born here have to prove ourselves over and over with multiple proofs of identity, but illegal can happen? That’s another red flag.
It’s time to go back to the tried-and-true: paper ballots.
‘Hanging chads’ (LOL!) were the way libs took us to computer voting, which of course, can be easily manipulated by the user of the machine.
=====================
So you trust people physically handling your vote and making sure it goes to the right place over a structured electronic system with more security? People have been voting in machine booths before I was born and there was never an issue to the degree we see today. Now all of a sudden we can’t vote legitimately?
It’s all about the propaganda that is spewed months and weeks before election time. This is our new reality and it’s embarrassing. Look at the technology we have but we can’t vote legitimately? It’s absurd! Politicians play their game while we all say WTF is going on?
And to my other point…sometimes thoughts, especially strong emotions influence what you receive or messages that appear that for some reason are not self-evident….then we go into fear…big brother is watching vs trusting your own dialogue….oh well…lol
Right on! Both parties are becoming draconian. It’s either our way or the highway. You’re either with us or not. It’s becoming the end of independence and the idea of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. You have to become a soldier for a cause now. Fuck that! You do you and I do me. If you don’t believe in the freedom of the individual you can all get the fuck out of the country.
Ken, just remember Eichenberg is a college OT transitioning to OG at the NFL level in his 2nd year. Most college OL are not ready for the NFL because of how they play in college and the talent level isn’t even close.
I agree he’s not played well, but to say he doesn’t have the talent…if you said, he doesn’t have the drive or can’t move I’d disagree, but understand your POV
Bonjour Alain! I need your opinion on Liam Eichenberg. Do you see any improvement in his game, especially in pass-blocking abilities? Can he be a long-term solution? What do you think about Austin Jackson back at guard when healthy (Shell keeping RT spot)?
Bonjour, from what I saw, Eichenberg did have a good game against Pittsburgh if you take away the two false starts. The issues I’ve seen with him in pass blocking have come when he’s been too slow to switch off to stop a twist on the defensive front, which is more mental than physical. That gives me hope that he can be a long-term solution, though the jury clearly is still out. I don’t mind the idea of moving Jackson back to guard, though I kind of liked what I saw from him at right tackle. I would keep Shell in the starting lineup at this time, though.
Firstly, gr8 job covering this team so thoroughly & this mailbag segment. Why is Jaelan Phillips, who has such a great motor and is getting in rhythm as a pass rusher, sent out in coverage so often? I get doing it on occasion to confound the opponent but it happened a lot Sunday.
Hey Sean, first off, thanks for the kind words. And I’m with you on Phillips. I understand a lot of what the Dolphins like to do on defense is based on deception and disguising what certain players will do on certain downs, but generating a consistent pass rush has been an issue for this team and at some point I think it would behoove them to just tell Phillips to focus on getting the quarterback and letting him loose full time.
Not having a legit punt returner feels like it’s going to cost us. Am I overstating its importance?
Hey Sal, yeah, that’s a good question, but I’m tempted to think it’s not that big of an issue because there just aren’t very many long returns around the league. On the flip side, the Dolphins are still at a stage where their margin for error is small enough that one long return could make a difference. So … yes and no. How’s that for a decisive answer! LOL.
Phillips cracked before the season that he wasn’t a fan of Pro Football Focus because it rated him poorly last season — 93rd of 113 qualifying edge players. That was primarily because of his run defense, which the website rated 102nd.
But Phillips’ run defense is much improved; PFF rates him 38th among 112 edge players as a run defender.
He had a team leading seven quarterback pressures against Pittsburgh and was on the field for 26 of the Dolphins’ 30 fourth-quarter defensive snaps.
Per PFF’s Ryan Smith, his 90.1 overall grade during the past four weeks trails only Myles Garrett at the edge defender position.

What talent does he lack in?
—————
When he was at OT he lacked the speed to keep up with edge rushers. Now that he has moved inside he has been exposed for lacking strength to take on the DT. He is getting overpowered at the point of attack. He lacks the necessary athleticism to play at this level
I would rather him take penalties then give up sacks
But he’s had a lot of penalties
Honestly I think the criticism he’s faced is a little over the top
He’s playing a new position – being in between Armstead and Williams is going to help him develop
And more than anything else that needs to change about Dolphin culture – we need to develop players instead of getting frustrated with them all the time
I think for the OL the benefit of playing 5 guys together in game is hard to pass
I don’t think this deviates from what MM said. I’m sure he didn’t mean moving guys around from week to week bc some one on the OL looked better at Thursday practice than the usual starter
At the stadium, people around us were gasping or groaning at Ced Wilson fielding punts. Several of them he caught in very contorted postures, and fans were complaining that he “doesn’t want to run any back.” IOW taking fair catches every time.
He must’ve thought that too or been told that on the sideline, because he did try to run back the last one (I think) and that was the worst one to do, and he only got like one yard.
They are definitely searching for someone to give us come juice back there, without risking a star.
Might be another reason why they signed Jamal Perry. I think he can return punts.

We just brought in a PR for a visit, but he wasn’t signed
—————
We did sign one to the PS. WR Calvin Jackson. He was an UDFA. We wanted to sign him as an UDFA but he signed with the Jets. I guess we had too much WR competition. The Jets released him not long ago. WR Swain, we had on the PS is injured so we replaced him with Jackson. Jackson is a quick but not fast slot WR.

Coach on Cedrick Wilson’s workload: it’s less about what he hasn’t done — he’s getting better every week and will continue to be featured more in our offense — it’s more about what a guy like Trent Sherfield has done.
Coach also mentioned the rib injury that limited Wilson.

If Eich is so bad, then why did Mostert get all his good runs off the left side?
——————-
Armstead
———————–
Didn’t know Armstead blocks everyone on that side of the defense. If you watched that Mostert video, Armstead takes his guy out. Eich is left with the difficult job of turning the DT inside or out. That is a tough task vs DT like Heyward and he did it well.
On most of Mostert’s runs of 7,8,9 yards, it was blocks by Eich that made it possible.
I was watching on Sunday and it was pretty clear to me that it was Armstead who was making it possible for Mostert on the left side. Even the announcers made a special point of highlighting that
Another shot of the 4th down play.
How does Edmonds miss that hole? That’s a TD!!!!!!!!!
Should’ve been a race to the pylon with the safety. This is painful to watch. Not a wonder Mike McD was so confident in this play call. pic.twitter.com/cLiGvrEygp
I’ve seen some one mentioned that Hunt whiffed a bit on his block
And Hunt didn’t but that penetration doesn’t make a difference if Edmunds aggressively goes outside
And what he does instead on the play is he cuts inside immediately and cuts right into Hunts man – Edmunds is basically dancing/cutting behind the LOS when a back with good vision would be hitting the obvious opening – which is the way the play is designed.
That Edmunds mistake still doesn’t resolve 2 issues that are in MM IMO
1. Take the 3 points up by 6 in that kind of game
2. If you a going to go for it – keep it in Tua’s hands- you gave the ball to the most disappointing me ever of our offense this season on the most important play!
Was watching the Tyreek miked up segment BBM put up and Tyreek is just like Sanka. The crazed street car driver in the movie. Not just the hair, but the high voice, the quick speech, the enthusiasm and the attitude.
MM is on record telling people that the choice to go for it on 4th is based on analytics
Maybe I’m oversimplifying but I think the idea is the value of scoring 7 in terms of likelihood to win is much greater than the value of scoring 2 which generally doesn’t make a huge difference at that point of the game
But I see that as the fake with analytics and relying on it too much
What analytics doesn’t factor in is how the other side is calling their game
The Steelers were calling a very conservative game plan for their rookie QB. They were throwing deep 1 towards the end of the game, they started to push downfield and he threw 2 interceptions
So if you go up by 9 at that point, you put that pressure on Pickett a little earlier – he pushes and he’s out of his comfort zone.
We probably intercept him in the 3rd qtr and next thing you know 19-10 becomes 26-10 or 22-10
Analytics really doesn’t factor in what the other team is doing. It would have been an asset for the Dolphins to get the Steelers out of their comfort zone mad make them push the ball downfield a little earlier
That said – I’m a huge MM guy. I love that he utilizes analytics. But experience matters – and IMO Tomlin outcoached him by a large margin last Sunday
He says the people advising him on analytics didn’t advise him to go for it, so to that extent I think you are right but that’s not the sum of it – he’s still making a decision on analytics if you read the substance of the quote
He’s basically deciding that he wasn’t to go up by 2 TDs instead of 2 scores, the belief in the benefit of that is based on the likelihood of winning based on the scoring difference – at the end of the day, if he’s saying they have to score 2 TDs instead of they have to score twice, he’s talking about a 5 point difference which reeks of analytics IMO
Well I paraphrased but I remember something along the lines that he was not necessarily following the analytics. I like you think it was a mistake to pass up FG
Liam got pwned on 3rd down. on the first view of 4th down it looks like a blatant miss by Chase, but from the second view it looks like Hunt and Shell were responsible for keeping this whole open pic.twitter.com/014DlJc1di
I promise you Chase is allowed to go outside of Armstead on that 4th down play – it might actually be his first option – he cuts inside and runs right into the defender Hunt is supposed to block (not sure why shell is even mentioned)
I’m just referring to the 4th down play – I barely watched the 3rd down play
Edmunds is demonstrating really bad vision on 4th down – he changed direction to run into the worst spot he can run into
I don’t disagree and on my first look I was really disappointed. 2nd look with this view is not quite as bad but still wish Edmonds had the vision to bounce outside
I was watching on Sunday and it was pretty clear to me that it was Armstead who was making it possible for Mostert on the left side. Even the announcers made a special point of highlighting that
——————
Then you didn’t watch the video I posted. One of the announcers gave props to Eich on one of his blocks as well.
Watch that 4th down video Wyoming posted at 1:51. Armstead’s man pass rushes, he chases/pushes him into the backfield and out of the play. Eich sealed off the entire left side of the defense creating the gaping hole to the left and Edmonds decided to force it up the middle.
On many of the successful runs to the left, Eich helps seal off the DT, passes him to the Center, Williams, then moves to the second level.
I am not saying he is good. I am saying he is average and improving. He does struggle and whiff on the second level a little. To me, that is where he struggles the most.
If he is average why is he rated as the 2nd lowest OG in all of football? He was at the bottom of OTs. I am sure there are plays like the ones posted above he has looked good but the vast majority of them he is trash.
On the 4th down Play Eichenberg and Williams double the DT, Eichenberg is really just standing there, because the play doesn’t go outside, but there is an LB spying a run outside, so I wouldn’t say running outside was a guaranteed 1st, but it was the way to go
Steve is right. There is a LB who just stands there behind the DL and never engages. He was ready to tackle Chase if the play went outside Eich’s left.
Eich is only going to get better and the only way that happens is through game experience. He’s got the mental capacity and the physical capacity, and it’s now about putting it all together at his new LG position.
As I stated yesterday, YES, he’s let me down. But I’m sure as hell not giving up on him too/so early.
No he is not . He has shown zero improvement. He was older than the average rookie and I don’t think he has the athletic talent. I don’t get everyone’s love affair for a guy who continually ranks near the bottom of his respective positions and has shown zero improvement
Keep in mind what Eich was going through last year with our mess of O-Line coaching. They threw him around at LT, RT, and some G duties. He wasn’t able to master a position, and he was a mere rook.
It’s a new day now, with essentially 3 masters of O-Line coaching, outside ZBS. Eich is used to LT in such a scheme… he learning a new position (LG) right now.
Eich would have engaged that linebacker if Edmonds took it outside instead of running up Hunts ass. I also agree that he would have beaten the lb around the corner even without a block it was pretty wide open outside. That’s on Edmonds bad.
Ken says:
October 26, 2022 at 4:58 pm
But Eich was unengaged and in position to block the LB. At a minimum Edmonds had the 1st and most likely a TD
We must be watching a different video I am talking about the fourth down play bike stands his guy up and turns him inside while Armstead clears the rusher to the outside. Behind the DL that Eich seals off is a LB who shifts to his left at the snap but is clean and ready to flow back to his right (offensive left) and tackle chase Eich was fully engaged. Thanks
No it is the 4th down. It was Williams with seal block and Eich is unengaged
Liam got pwned on 3rd down. on the first view of 4th down it looks like a blatant miss by Chase, but from the second view it looks like Hunt and Shell were responsible for keeping this whole open pic.twitter.com/014DlJc1di
“Miami listed 18 players on their first injury report of the week.
Five players were listed as non-participants – offensive tackle Terron Armstead (toe), cornerback Xavien Howard (groin), tight end Durham Smythe (hamstring), safety Clayton Fejedelem (groin) and linebacker Melvin Ingram (veteran rest).
Linebacker Jerome Baker (hip), wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (shoulder), defensive lineman Christian Wilkins (hand), defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah (back), defensive lineman Zach Sieler (hand/ankle), tight end Tanner Conner (knee), cornerback Keion Crossen (knee), offensive tackle Greg Little (Achilles) cornerback Kader Kohou (oblique) and quarterback Skylar Thompson (right thumb) were all limited.”
I have a client that wants to add connecting doors between his hotel rooms in a 10 story building. The walls that he wants to cut through to install the doors or 8 inch thick solid concrete walls with rebar in a mat both ways. They are referred to as Shear walls in construction and they provide stabilization to the building so that it will not twist in high winds. Each opening is about a yard of concrete so the removal will weigh about 4,000 lbs per room. His elevators are three sided glass elevators and have a rating of 2500 pounds. There is no place to put a trash chute so everything will have to be carried down the stairs. 16,000 pounds from the 10th floor 16,000 pounds from the ninth floor 16,000 pounds from the eighth floor you get the idea.
He is complaining about the price and he’s threatening to get somebody else to do it.
I told him he doesn’t understand the process and he is free to please please please go check my price have a good day.
Boss yelled at me for my attitude but fuck it is a pain in the ass job. My estimate came up to $700,000 to install 64 double doors. (34 pair) it is extremely expensive but it is the design and not my pricing that is out of whack. He says I only have $200,000 to do the entire project.
I said great that will buy you the doors frames and hardware with half the installation. He said what about the other half? I said it would cost the same as the first half, Duh. He didn’t like that and complained to my boss and told my boss that I told him to take his business elsewhere.
We signed OT Grant Hermanns to the PS. He went undrafted in 2021 and played with the Jets last year and this year. He was waived by the Jets on October 11.
PFF rates Conner Williams as the 5th best center and Robert Hunt as the 7th best RG this year. That somewhat makes up for Liam Eichenberg being considered the worst LG. LOL
Son, adding the 34 openings into the sheer walls would PROBABLY not create a structural failure, but tell that to the folks at that Tower in Miami.
There is a whole other structural reinforcement detail of sandwiching C channel on both sides of the wall and bridging the width of the door with another welded to the verticals. The detail shows a staggered pattern in the 12″ wide 1/2″ thick steel plates with 3 3/4 deep webs. The way the engineer wrote it up we need to drill 21 holes through the wall and bolt the steel and THEN cut out the wall inside the frame by drilling bigger holes (6″ rather than the 1 1/4 for the bolts) and then cut between the core holes. Can’t just cut the wall because the overcut of the round blade when it “reaches” through the wall will also cut the concrete floor / ceiling and the slabs are post tensioned concrete (explosive potentially deadly release of stress if cut) and every one is going to take FOREVER and take way more men than it should if they had a service elevator. After running down this and 100 other things with the guy I said “that’s probably why you don’t have them already in this building….(how expensive it will be to do it)
what the polor bear was thinking while the guy was filming him unsuccessfully hunting whales. The other bear had a method and got one, the younger dumber one ate kelp and was looking toward the camera.

What BS. They are still trying to snow us. Now it was “All three” spotters agreed….. Come on! over a million people saw the video. There was no stumble and this was purely a punitive action by the NFLPA for the Tua embarrassment
Dolphins RT Austin Jackson (ankle) also wasn't seen at practice. Miami designated him to return from IR on Oct. 12. He last practiced Oct. 13 and his 21-day IR window closes Nov. 1. Dolphins then have to bring him to the 53 or keep him on IR for the rest of the szn.
Terron Armstead (toe), Clayton Fejdelem (groin) and Melvin Ingram (vet rest) returned to practice today. Fejedelem and Durham Smythe (hamstring) were working on the side. Otherwise, perfect attendance for the Dolphins.
Jaelan Phillips was the best player on the field against the Steelers. He was simply doing it all. Chased down ball carriers all night with his unreal motor. Was really good in the run game, and consistently won his pass rush opportunities. This was his best game as a pro. pic.twitter.com/GMVMhXBOxq
I continue to hear that both Chase Claypool and Brandin Cooks are going to be traded before the deadline. Either one to the Pack will dramatically help A-Rod, and hopefully soon for this weekend.
I was just reading an article that mentioned the last time the Dolphins faced Jared Goff in 2020. I had forgotten that game. We were outgained 471 yards to 145 yards total offense and still won the game 28-17 because of Special teams and Defense.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention Jerry Jeudy… lots of rumors that he too will be traded.
New #Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney's contract is fully guaranteed for about $5.2 million through 2024, plus a fifth-year option.
So the #Giants get that money off their books and pick up 3rd- and 6th-round picks, while KC bets on the upside of the 20th overall pick in the 2021 draft.
from Detroit website
“Lions are in a no win situation .
They had the most success with a Blitz package that will lead to 1 of 2 things.
Tua will be protected in the pocket by the refs. The question will be how many 15 yard penalties do the Lions get in the first half before scrapping the Blitz?”
also
“With Swift and Sun God playing…. Lions have the most dangerous offense in the league.
Add in AG’s ascending defense… and this could be a fun one to watch.”
“Wouldn’t mind Miami getting knocked down a peg. Seem to be crowning them prematurely.”
“With swift the sun god, pascal, hutch all playing. Along with everyone else. They’re winning this weekend. They are putting their foot down and winning outright. They had Dallas up against it till Williams fumbled. It unraveled after that. I just see a win this week. I’m going to play the money line and teasing it with some other games. What did Miami do. Barely beat a bad Pittsburgh team in Miami no less. I dint see a Miami win. Just don’t. Not this week. “
I mean, Bengals DT Josh Tupou wasn’t even flagged for unnecessary roughness after he put Tua on a stretcher. How many times did Ndamukong Suh get away with BS for the Lions?
Remember, the Broncos lost all those draft picks in trading for Russ. Perhaps they want to get some picks back to retool? I dunno, that’s my best guess, Tim.
Man players are dropping like flies. Chargers WR Mike Williams out at least 4 weeks with an ankle injury. Ja’Marr Chase is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a hip injury. Both of them are on my FF team. Fuck!!!
Stanger,
Good stats you provided prior to the page turn.
I stole them from Barry Jackson, but did find them interesting.
THIEF!!! JK/LOL 🙂
Yes, those stats provided are most telling.
“We have a couple guys within analytics that are in my ear in all those types of situations. In this situation, they did not advise me to go for it.”
— McDaniel on the call to go for it on 4th and 3 instead of take the field goal.
We signed DB Jamal Perry to the practice squad. He’s been on and off the roster the last couple seasons.
I saw that. How many corners have we gone through to date, anyone have a count?
That’s a good signing he’s a guy that can step right in if needed
Hopefully Kohou and/or Crossen will be healthy enough to play this weekend.
Hoping for both 🤞
Those of us who play FF know that the NFL has been low scoring thus far.
Ohio State offered him a scholarship when he was still 15.
I btwn the two either Jackson or Eich works out….. I’ll take it. Both of them would be bonus time.
Detroit has scored six points in its past two games.
I think we destroyed Goff the last time we played him except he was still with the Rams. They won’t be able to score on us either 💪
This is Eichenberg’s draft profile.

He’s gonna be be fine even Baldinger was pointing him out in the last video. Chill.
Also worked out Malcolm Butler today
Naples, funny you said Wilson looked shaky when I thought he looked pretty good and I thought he’d found himself an opening to more chances. I saw soft hands sure hands not two bricks like Grant lol
You must not have seen all his plays at PR, it was bad, like a guy put back there to just catch the ball
Exactly a guy to catch the ball. We don’t need 🐆☃️🐧 back there this is a good job for Wilson.
We will need to cover them well.
One of their losses, can’t remember which, Dan Campbell said he was the reason they lost, play call I think to go for it instead of taking a FG maybe. Can’t remember the details. So there’s that.
I don’t buy that, without those points the game is different
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown has been banged up and suffered a potential concussion on Sunday and left the game but I believe he already showed no symptoms. He’s their best WR so keep an eye on his status. But this new concussion protocol is already taking players out of games when they don’t have concussions. We knew this was coming.
Hillary got bats in the belfry omg lol
What crazy thing did she do now
She’s already saying that the GOP will rig the election in the midterms.
Don’t know how that’s possible, being Paul Pelosi (Nancy’s husband) is a MAJOR stock and shareholder regarding Dominion voting machines.
It’s time to go back to the tried-and-true: paper ballots.
‘Hanging chads’ (LOL!) were the way libs took us to computer voting, which of course, can be easily manipulated by the user of the machine.
None of that would be a problem with only legally registered voters
That’s another thing, why do any of us who were born here have to prove ourselves over and over with multiple proofs of identity, but illegal can happen? That’s another red flag.

=====================
So you trust people physically handling your vote and making sure it goes to the right place over a structured electronic system with more security? People have been voting in machine booths before I was born and there was never an issue to the degree we see today. Now all of a sudden we can’t vote legitimately?
Hmmm….catching up with the football blog…good conversations about team…and for sure MM is not above criticism while still loving him…lol.
Then….funny how some of see random thoughts or potential manifestations of quantum physics as conspiracy, big brother watch. I get the conundrum.
And finally devolve into politics….lmao
It’s all about the propaganda that is spewed months and weeks before election time. This is our new reality and it’s embarrassing. Look at the technology we have but we can’t vote legitimately? It’s absurd! Politicians play their game while we all say WTF is going on?
That’s the end result for sure…tribalism….it’s too much these days for me…
And to my other point…sometimes thoughts, especially strong emotions influence what you receive or messages that appear that for some reason are not self-evident….then we go into fear…big brother is watching vs trusting your own dialogue….oh well…lol
I’m gooing to let out a long whistle and go to bed!
How can anyone still think Eichenberg is going to be good?
Because he’s young and was really good at ND
How many OL are playing very good around the league, that used to play in Miami, after we gave up too quick
Maybe Billy Turner but that’s about it. Eichenberg is a liability. This belief that he will magically be good someday will get our QBs killed
NYR vs Col great game, 1-0 Avs
Ken, just remember Eichenberg is a college OT transitioning to OG at the NFL level in his 2nd year. Most college OL are not ready for the NFL because of how they play in college and the talent level isn’t even close.
And his talent level isn’t even close to NFL standards
What talent does he lack in?
I agree he’s not played well, but to say he doesn’t have the talent…if you said, he doesn’t have the drive or can’t move I’d disagree, but understand your POV
Mac Jones or is it mCajones
I’m sure we’d all like to see Phillips rush the QB more, but what does that entail?
Because the physical nature isn’t in play so much, when he drops into coverage, I think it allows him to be on the field more
He’s been making plays sideline to sideline, he needs to be on the field as much as possible
I like how they’re playing him now
Someone took pics of the Fest players this year. Will that be shared?
Not having a legit punt returner feels like it’s going to cost us. Am I overstating its importance?
Hey Sal, yeah, that’s a good question, but I’m tempted to think it’s not that big of an issue because there just aren’t very many long returns around the league. On the flip side, the Dolphins are still at a stage where their margin for error is small enough that one long return could make a difference. So … yes and no. How’s that for a decisive answer! LOL.
I think teams are going to figure it out, when we have a stiff like Wilson back there and are going to start kicking more for distance, than hang time
Phillips cracked before the season that he wasn’t a fan of Pro Football Focus because it rated him poorly last season — 93rd of 113 qualifying edge players.

I don’t agree, but fair enough I respect your opinion

I would rather him take penalties then give up sacks
But he’s had a lot of penalties
Honestly I think the criticism he’s faced is a little over the top
He’s playing a new position – being in between Armstead and Williams is going to help him develop
And more than anything else that needs to change about Dolphin culture – we need to develop players instead of getting frustrated with them all the time
Question is where do you develop them?
In practice, in camp, in games or some combination
Then what do you suggest after the season has started, when there’s not much development practice
And what do you do with a development type player in season, who is struggling and a better option may be available on the bench
What happened to MM saying the best players in practice will play?
Did Steve get “broken”?
He’s answering his own questions in another Persona! 😉
Ask Alain
If Eich is so bad, then why did Mostert get all his good runs off the left side?
Watch #74 on all Mostert’s plays. I think Eich played well and I don’t get the hate.
They did say he played well against Pitt, other than the 2 false starts
He’s been struggling, when he has to move his feet
Is it a result of bad preparation, slow/bad feet or inexperience?
I don’t know but looking at these plays, he did very well sealing off his guy.

Something in the past, that drove me crazy was when our receivers would catch a 4 yard pass, then peel back, instead of pivoting and going forward
Landry was the worst
In the video above it shows the first highlight, with Waddle pivoting and jetting forward👍

About the plan at SAF post-Jones injury: one of my favorite parts of the system, it’s to the credit to the DEF coaches, starting with Josh (Boyer), is how they take people’s strengths and utilize them in a multitude of ways

Coach on Cedrick Wilson’s workload: it’s less about what he hasn’t done — he’s getting better every week and will continue to be featured more in our offense — it’s more about what a guy like Trent Sherfield has done.
Coach also mentioned the rib injury that limited Wilson.

I feel absolutely terrible for a guy that was playing at a very high level, Coach says. When things like this happen to people like him, they tend to come out finding a way to be better some how, some way.
Would be nice to have Kader and Keion back.
What a shame
so it’s gonna be Rowe and Holland?
Yep. And count me as one who thought Rowe was too expensive to keep as a third safety. Not any more.
Detroit puts up good rushing numbers.
How do we stop that with no box safeties?
Tindall
yes!!
that was my exact thought!
Why do we have to stop their running game?
Are they a juggernaut
There offense has put up some really big numbers this year. Not the last 2 games but before their offense was humming
He won’t necessarily have the coverage but in the box he can be very similar to Jones

Armstead
That’s a TD!!!!!!!!!
jeeeeezzzz
the knockout punch too
I’ve seen some one mentioned that Hunt whiffed a bit on his block
Any of you guys watch Cool Runnings?
Was watching the Tyreek miked up segment BBM put up and Tyreek is just like Sanka. The crazed street car driver in the movie. Not just the hair, but the high voice, the quick speech, the enthusiasm and the attitude.
Love that movie 😊
Have you watched Tyreek miked up? If not do and think you will get what I mean. And I should have said “push cart driver” instead of street car.
Cedric Wilson “logged just four offensive snaps against Pittsburgh and has played just 90 snaps all season.”
Trade deadline is next Tuesday.
Waddle and Hill both have been banged up at times this season and both have had injuries before 2022
I tend to think we might need Cedric Wilson at some point this season and we might appreciate him even though he’s basically doing nothing
He said he made the decision to go for it despite the analytics
That would be worse
But that’s not what he said in the postgame presser – here’s the transcript / specifically he didn’t his decision was in spite of analytics
https://www.miamidolphins.com/news/transcript-mike-mcdaniel-s-media-availability-october-23
It’s kind of mental masterbation
And I’m splitting hairs
Technically my argument to go up 9 is an analytics argument – I just thing wanting to go up by 14 is an extra layer of analytics
Physical masturbation is so much…oh wait a minute
I promise you Chase is allowed to go outside of Armstead on that 4th down play – it might actually be his first option – he cuts inside and runs right into the defender Hunt is supposed to block (not sure why shell is even mentioned)
I’m just referring to the 4th down play – I barely watched the 3rd down play
Edmunds is demonstrating really bad vision on 4th down – he changed direction to run into the worst spot he can run into
I don’t disagree and on my first look I was really disappointed. 2nd look with this view is not quite as bad but still wish Edmonds had the vision to bounce outside
To Piggy’s point if Tua kept the ball he had Sherfield wide open
You know – I don’t really get the way RPO works
But from reading everything MM said, I think the expectation was a run
Amazing how at a critical time this could happen, anything other than giving it to Edmonds would’ve worked
FG, Throw, Mostert in the game
Just goes to show you how important confidence is
Edmonds confidence must be at -1000 about now
Edmunds literally makes the worst decision he can make, other than just flat out running the opposite direction
You act as if he doesn’t even belong on the 53.
If he is average why is he rated as the 2nd lowest OG in all of football? He was at the bottom of OTs. I am sure there are plays like the ones posted above he has looked good but the vast majority of them he is trash.
And yes I do believe he doesn’t belong on the 53
Well, I don’t agree, and the coaches seem to think he is our best option, but, honestly, you know more than I do about OL play. So, there’s that.
We will just hope he gets better as the season rolls on.
But Eich was unengaged and in position to block the LB. At a minimum Edmonds had the 1st and most likely a TD
If you want to block for Eich, you are facing one scary pass rusher.
That’s your opinion, which I respect. However, I don’t agree. As for PFF? Like I stated yesterday, they’ve really fallen with their assessments.
I think all will turn out well in the end.
I see the LB on that play spying
But that’s not an easy Play for the LB to make
I probably be more pissed if chase goes outside and can’t beat that LB to the edge….lol
Eich would have engaged that linebacker if Edmonds took it outside instead of running up Hunts ass. I also agree that he would have beaten the lb around the corner even without a block it was pretty wide open outside. That’s on Edmonds bad.
Something I forgot to mention during our game on Sunday night!
When Coach McDaniel was a young buck, working as an understudy for Mike Shanadouche, he and the GODFATHER of the ZBS hit it off: ALEX GIBBS (RIP).
Yes, Coach McDaniel has learned from the GODFATHER of the ZBS!!!
That was a VERY interesting note that was stated on SNF!
Damn, Brandon Jones is out for the year. Our secondary has really been hit with injuries.
Yup, that sucketh BIG time. Next man up, as you’d say. Eric Rowe is ready, able, willing, and very good.
Our depth in our secondary has been good to us thus far.
I’m certain not many teams (if any) could survive what we’ve had to overcome regarding injuries to our secondary.
It’s a damn good thing we held on to him.
Verone McKinley is making his way up, he was activated for the Steelers. Holland’s mate from the Ducks.
Yeah it’s been pretty remarkable how we keep bringing up guys from anywhere and everywhere and they’re holding their own.

Look at the bottom image and you will see what I mean
That many openings wouldn’t cause a structural issue?
It’s your boss that should be telling this guy to fuck off not you 🤷♂️
We signed OT Grant Hermanns to the PS.
LOL
And I think Armstead is 11
I figured he’d be rated high. When he’s good to go he’s a beast.
He was outstanding last Sunday
He’s had a few really good games.
After running down this and 100 other things with the guy I said “that’s probably why you don’t have them already in this building….(how expensive it will be to do it)

with the global warming trends (whether you believe humans contribute or not, the earth is in a warming period) they may become the next mammal to return to the sea full time.
That will take a long time for that evolution.
Hope the species survives that long.
Or don’t, I don’t care anymore. I’ll be dead when my property is ocean front.
Vancouver Island gets 20 feet of rain per year.
Rock, humans will do what they do and always will until they no longer exist which could happen. Or when those of us alive now are all long gone will we have created a new frontier not on earth, or will we also live in the sea in some way?
We killed the blog. LOL
WR Calvin Johnson OUT for the Lions this weekend. Whew!
RB Barry Sanders also OUT and not expected to make the trip
Alex Karras won’t be playing either
That’s good, he’s a tough SOB
LOL

We seem to play at our opponents level too often
Tua has remained consistent throughout his career wining games, especially against lessor opponents, so we should win, but…
If Ogbah plays we should be able to contain Goff and force some TOs
I’m sure he’s happy Byron Jones isn’t playing, the cover-0 has been hard on him, in SB, Tua’s 1st start, Cheats this year 0-29
I think we can throw out the Steelers game, and just say a win is a win, and not try to evaluate the O
First goal was to win, check
Second to keep Tua safe, check
I think we’ll open it up more this week, Lions can be finicky, but we should be able to sack his immobile ass often
Their D is not good, should be somewhat high scoring
Totally agree with everything you said here
What BS. They are still trying to snow us. Now it was “All three” spotters agreed….. Come on! over a million people saw the video. There was no stumble and this was purely a punitive action by the NFLPA for the Tua embarrassment
I agree

Tua listed on the injury report with a left hand problem (throwing had) Man! is he made of glass? He is always hurt.
Yes, my eyes have told me the same. They need to fix this problem. (along with the 50 other problems they have) We are not as good as we think we are.
On a more positive note.
For those afraid of the water…

Close call.
While I am being positive….
Gotta root for the Pats this weekend. Yuck.
Here man, I’ll solve it for you. We DO NOT have to root for the Pats. We can just root against the Jet’s a normal….
winkey eye
Ah…Good strategy…I feel better!
I was talking to a Ravens fan at lunch today. Damn if I have to root for Tom Lady and the Bucs tonight.
And hopefully GB gets it together this weekend. Not likely, but stranger things have happened.
Yeah the early turnovers buried them. They had the ball forever but it took them forever to score too.
Rooting list for this weekends games
Go Tampa!
Den / Jax – Who cares! LOL (both 2-5)
Go New Orleans!
Go erp, erp gag, pant pant pant Go Pat…nope cant say it
Go Philly! STAY UNDEFEATED
Go Houston
Go Washington!
Go San Fran
Go Green Bay!
Go Cleveland
Remember rooting for SF makes our draft pick later. 😉

Oh yeah, forgot to mention Jerry Jeudy… lots of rumors that he too will be traded.
Claypool and Jeudy are kind of surprising but those rumors have been out for a week or so.
Same here, I’m surprised… especially regarding Chase Claypool. IMO, he’d be the perfect fit for A-Rod in Green Bay.
Agreed.
Jeudy blows. He hasn’t done anything since coming into the league
G-Men finally trade away Toney…
That’s good for the Giants. He rarely plays and the new regime is not a fan of his.
from Detroit website
WOW! LOL
So Tua is now being confused for Tom Brady, having the officials in his pocket?!! That’s rich, coming from some Lions fans!
I mean, Bengals DT Josh Tupou wasn’t even flagged for unnecessary roughness after he put Tua on a stretcher. How many times did Ndamukong Suh get away with BS for the Lions?
Hmmm…
Why would the Broncos trade him?
I’ve heard Chubb’s name on the trade block for about a week now. Looks like a potential firesale in Denver, just as we’re seeing in Carolina.
Remember, the Broncos lost all those draft picks in trading for Russ. Perhaps they want to get some picks back to retool? I dunno, that’s my best guess, Tim.
To replace some of the draft choices they lost. This team is going no where any time soon
Yeah it’s pretty crazy the Broncos thought they were in a win now mode by acquiring Wilson and only 7 games in they’re blowing it up.
Released…
Cheetah…
Today’s injury report…
Good news!
REVENGE game for Charles Harris! LOL

Man players are dropping like flies. Chargers WR Mike Williams out at least 4 weeks with an ankle injury. Ja’Marr Chase is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a hip injury. Both of them are on my FF team. Fuck!!!
Oh boy! Woman sues, says Dolphins star Xavien Howard gave her STD.
Wow TMI
Groin injury
Lol
You either do or you don’t. My wife does and I die a little bit each time.
Sherman Williams 🥲
I judge an entire National Anthem performance on whether they Say RockEts red glare or the lazy RockIts red glare
Ugh I need to root for Brady and Tampa 🤢
