Acho is gonna cop for some shit now too. Social-media QB >>>>> Tua tonight 😔

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

And maybe the Tua detractors are right. He escaped a few plays and had a couple of scrambles, but can he put a team on his back and make plays when the plays aren’t there? Herbert made a ton of excellent plays tonight.

Two really big games in a row Tua didnt do anything. He’s not the only reason we lost, far from it. But he didnt do anything that impressed either. That was a dime to Hill for a td , i guess.

Maybe I’ll see it differently after processing this monumental disappointment.

  3. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Just call the game now. I hate the new onside kickoff rules. Impossible to recover. It really ruins the end of games

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

The change to the onside kick rules destroyed the end of games. They should keep the new kick rules and make an exception for last two minutes of the 4th, or something like that to bring the onside kick back.

  4. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

2:30 mins to play and Waddle and Hill on sideline

  5. Wyoming85's avatar Wyoming85 says:

Gotta have it TD and Waddle and Hill are both on the sideline?

    something doesn’t smell right!

  6. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

If we lose to the Bills next week and the Jets beat the Lions at home and the Chargers beat the Titans at home. We will be outside the wild card looking in. Jets and Chargers will move ahead of us.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Is there anyone on this board, with exception of Phelon who always keeps the faith, that thinks we even have a remote chance in Buffalo next saturday?

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

There is no way we are beating the Bills at home in mid December, especially the way this team is playing right now.

  7. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

If we’d come out and lit up the scoreboard and lost 42-38, I could take it. We all know our defense is suspect, and I expect boyer to hit the fucking road along with Crossman at the end of the year.

But to have our offense, the supposed strength of our team, fail us two huge games in a row is really hard to handle.

  8. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

did we actually get a 55 yd fg. what’s the emoji for fainting

  9. Wyoming85's avatar Wyoming85 says:

And we get to see an onside attempt

  10. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Fuck. That was right there for us

  11. Wyoming85's avatar Wyoming85 says:

    And it fails

  12. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

  16. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Not looking good, going forward.
    WTF, Tua?

  17. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I can’t believe we lost this one with so much on the line.

  18. ukfinfan's avatar ukfinfan says:

MM needs to take a l o n g look at himself in the mirror too. To say these 2 W coast outings have been sub-par is a massive understatement.
Nogtih all. 4.30 am and we fecking lost. Why do I bother?

  19. Teams are taking away the middle of the field. Even though Tua has missed a bunch of those, you can see teams crowding the middle. Time to adapt.

  20. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

TOP – 40 minutes to 20 minutes again. Like this defense is going to be able to stop the bills and their running QB after being on the field for 81 minutes and 157 plays the last 2 weeks and go to Buffalo on a short week.

    I am afraid to watch.

  21. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Bryan, I am going to be down in Miami and the Keys during the time we play the Jets for our anniversary anyway.

You are right, I may put that money towards a good fishing charter.

  22. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Rag on the defense all you want but they held the chargers to 2 FG’s in the second half.

We lost because of the offense for the second game in a row.

  23. Waddle is also a questionable hands guy. Let’s be honest . I feel like there have been 10 passes he could have caught this season and didn’t.

  24. It’s going to be a battle for us right down to the last game. That’s how I feel.

  25. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I am even more mad because I paid the bondsman relieving me to come in early so I could come home and watch the game. My mistake.

Okay I promise I will not attend any more games this year .. Go Fins

  28. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

For those you that BELIEVED missing Armstead last weak was the reason for Tua having a bad game, you should start watching the game….lol…like I said last week Tua didn’t execute.

Then, Armstead (supposedly according to of you, is Tua’s security blanket) plays and Tua is worse!

Tua failed again to execute or even see the field. He was repeatedly off target again.
And, what was worse was him throwing to receivers that were covered over and over again, forcing the ball when WRs were covered by 3-4 DBs, and had nothing between his ears except space. He looked fucking lost. Worse than Mr. Irrelevant again and worse than last week!!!!

  29. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

And, then in the presser, he says, “our O isn’t playing the way that they can, it’s not who we are.” YES, it IS fucking who you are NOW after the last 2 and half games after the bye. It’s exactly who you are. And, it’s shit!

  30. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

And, our D has been a problem all year and nothing changed last night. Wilkins again carrying the D by his fucking self and it’s not working…..lol. The D needs a coach and 10 more players who want to play.

  31. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

And WTF is a sack these days. 2 weeks in a row, a sack has been called a penalty for roughing the passer or unnecessary roughness. It’s football! Are you fucking kidding me????!!!!!

In 2 other games this week, I saw Purdy and White get hit 10x’s harder and no flag for roughness. I don’t fucking get it!!!

  32. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

    Lol…just my 2 cents…

  33. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Excuse me Mr. Quarterback, can you lay down for me so I can sack you? WTF???!!!

I’m not allowed to sack you too hard. So please?

  34. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Both resulted in a 1st down after it seemed we stopped them on 3rd down…troubling

  35. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Sorry, refreshed after a good night’s sleep and ready to rant…lol

  36. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

We’re pretenders Mike E. It’s sad to see.

It’s almost worse with season, because it’s been a big tease and results in blue balls. I hate blue balls…lol

  37. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I think someone mentioned, if we can win 4 games, 12 will get us in the playoffs…..I guarantee you we won’t win 12 games if we can’t score 20 in a game from this point on. Who wants that bet? Lol…

  38. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

We can have a lollipop, ice cream, and cake party and cheer, go Tua….lmao.

After all, it has been pretty much a fantasy season.

  39. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

If this is what our team is going to look like the next 4 games and miraculously we end up in the playoffs, I am in the category, I would rather we just not make the playoffs.

This team is not primed for a playoff push. It looks more like the wheels are coming off.

  40. Ken's avatar Ken says:

It was a team effort to lose this one

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Like the last game and Tua was shit again…lol

      • Ken's avatar Ken says:

I actually didn’t think he was as bad as the week before. The week before he was missing open WRs. This game the WRs were not open. His throws didn’t look off. He had no where to go with the ball. What I didn’t is why he and or MM didn’t go to more check down routes

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I will agree with you on the point thar receivers weren’t open. So instead of doing what you say as in checking down, he forces the ball to covered receivers. That’s fucking worse in my opinion!!! Shows you are mentally unstable…lol…forcing a square peg in a round hole

  41. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

And, for all those that like backing in to things (lol), for me, the playoffs should not be one of them.

You take care of your OWN business and earn it.

  42. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Perhaps I’ve gone too far, the excuses are beginning to show up…lol

  43. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I feel like we’re having the same discussions as we did in the Tannehill era. “The defense sucks, can’t get off the field!” “It’s not the defense, the offense can’t sustain a drive, we don’t run the ball enough!”

I can’t believe our fucking team has reduced us to this shit again. My feeling is even if we find a way to have a good game the next game, it just won’t be sustainable. It seems very likely we’re going to turn into a pumpkin against anyone at any time. We’ve had the breaks 2 weeks in a row, starting QB OUT in SF, we get beat by a rookie playing his first game. Numerous guys on defense out this week and the defense looks even better against our offense which has no answer for taking the intermediate passing lanes away.

It’s fucking sad that we thought we actually had a top 5 offense, and that the defense was going to get better.

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Completely agree, in case you can’t tell by my rant….lol

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Oh, I can tell!!! I’m really wondering to myself, was Tua just playing well because everything was going right and no one had figured out how to limit our offense? Is it over for him? He’s had 2 absolutely shitty weeks in a row, has he been exposed and there’s no coming back from this? Is his psyche that fragile? As fragile as his body? If so, we’re doomed.

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I watched a game with a friend yesterday, and must have asked this same question 50 different ways…WTF is wrong with him? He’s no where near the Tua of first 10 games…he’s completely lost whatever he had…it’s gone right now…

  44. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Shame we’re playing the late game Saturday night, we’re absolutely, positively NOT ready for Prime Time. I wish they could hide the next game at 6AM so no one else will be watching.

  45. ukfinfan's avatar ukfinfan says:

We are built to score one way. Quick read, quick throw, fast guys and YACS. It worked for Warner, who Tua was compared to, when the Rams had the greatest show on turf. We’re a long way from that at present, though. We’re one trick ponies and teams are bumping receivers at the line, flooding Tua’s favourite passing lanes over the middle and taking away our strengths. The Bills, Jets and Pats will all bring the same kryptonite. Time to find out if Tua and MM are one trick ponies, or if they belong. If they don’t, it’s back to square 1 again. It’s so mentally exhausting.

We’re looking squarely at an 8-9 season.

  51. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

We need a RB like that Kelley guy from LAC.
That is what I meant all last off season
when I kept calling for a bruiserback.

not a bell cow … not a featureback,
    not a fullback,
    a runner,
    who can come in and
hammer a tired D for quality yards
late in a drive, late in the half, late in the game,
like contributing a 5-9-yard run every quarter.

I thought we might have one in Wilson,
    and maybe we do,
but a team cannot only have one.
    They get hurt.
    Kelley has been hurt.

    • manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Also a good idea to try running more than 8 times a game .. starting off with a 14 second 3 and out is also not good

  52. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I’m getting really close to saying FU NFL and their cheating bs, and stop following all together, if I can

I turned the game off in the 3rd quarter, just saw the roughing the passer in the 3rd on Phillips, doesn’t get any more blatant cheat than that

Bad enough they let em mob our receivers all game, similar to when the cheats did it to Colts in the AFC Championship game, that prompted the rule change of calling illegal contact after 5 yards

On one play the DB pushed Sherfield OB 10 yards downfield and no call

Why should I put so much into this manipulated sport?

    • manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

That sack was BS .. also at least three times I saw our D getting held so bad they were spun in a circle

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

You bring up a good point. I almost mentioned it last night. I saw numerous times, heck they even lauded the Chargers in the game broadcast, they were knocking our receivers around downfield. I saw Hill get knocked a couple of times 6-7 yards past the LOS. It wasn’t called once.

  53. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

We rushed 16 times last night.
That’s better than 8 the SF game,
    but not really.

That’s still not a “rushing attack,”
or close to a balanced attack.

Then again, we only ran about 47-50 plays.

    Our offense is one-dimensional,
    but even worse,
    it’s
    anemic, weak, wussy, soft.

That’s on the HC, the OC
(does he even do anything besides clerk the practices?)
    the QB coach, the QB,
the RB or run-game coordinator, the RBs,
the OL coach, the OGs, and
    the GM …

    all guilty

  54. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

    I agree with Steve.
That game was very close to an obvious
    manipulation through the officiating.

If there is going to be some sort of “guided” season
where certain teams or games or “managed”
for outcomes dictated by some behind-the-scene powers,
    then I’m done.

Not sure if it’s gambling money or TV money
or if that’s even 2 different things.

Not sure if somebody is creating “stories” to the season,
like a Justin Herbert recovery theme,
or a rebirth of the ___ team thread,
or a cinderella late surge drama,
    whatever it is,
if I can’t trust the sport to be true,
    I’m done with it.

    • New Age's avatar New Age says:

The NFL has allowed blatant cheating for years. Allowing sports betting was just openly admitting to it. Any sport that doesn’t allow players or coaches to question the rules, allows cheating. Just like any election process that doesn’t allow or condemns questioning results is also full of cheating. A fair process wants complete transparency. They want results checked and rechecked. Questioned and questioned again.

The Dolphins don’t have the fan support for the NFL to stop this too much. Just like we’ll never get the primetime games the Cowboys do, we’ll always have to deal with hometown refs. Like that Pittsburgh game where half the refs lived there. A real sport would never allow that. I’ve been done with the NFL as a serious sport but watching the garbage every year from the Dolphins has been taxing. I haven’t watched a single non-Dolphin game in 3 years and am just about ready to just check scores and be done with it. No integrity in this ‘sport’.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Thanks for your support, didn’t want to come across as crying…too much, by myself🤪

  55. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Phelon – I was optimistic 2 weeks ago, the team shit the bed. I was optimistic this week going against a defense missing 2 top players, and we did the same as last week. It’s not my fandom that’s the problem, the team is playing like a heap of garbage. I just react to what they do. Now I can say I have no optimism going into Saturday against the Bills. Tua might be a mojo guy, and it seems as if he’s lost his. Not sure how he’s going to find it under very adverse conditions in BUF. Regardless, I sure hope he does

  56. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

    I’m a naturally optimistic person.

But I try to keep a limit to that,
or else I enter the realm of unrealistic expectations,
and then I am set up for disappointment.

    That’s not just about football.

So if I’m to be optimistic about the future,
it is to think that this season is, after all, McDaniel’s first.

With any new regime, it takes a while
to get all of the positions filled with guys
who are optimal for the new system.

We made remarkable progress very quickly.

But we still need some guys that fit the vision that McDaniel has.

    And that’s just offense.
The D has had most of one whole room wiped out.
And the DC is a holdover and maybe just a stopgap.

So my optimism is that another productive off-season of shopping will install more pieces that fit the system, and then we won’t have guys who are not built to do what McDaniel wants to do subverting a drive or letting a big play happen on ST or D.

  57. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Well we did get the most memorable play of the season so far last night. Tyreek is so frick’n fast and everybody knows it. There are 3 Chargers DBs with an angle to track him down but they all just give up at once. It’s like one said “that’s Tyreek man, save your energy.”

  58. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

At the beginning of the season if you told me we would be 8-5 and in the playoff hunt, I would have felt good about that. Now, I just can’t. Not the way things have unfolded.

There were no excuses for losing the SF game other than Tua being WAY off. Last night, it seemed we came in with the same offensive game plan we used vs SF. MM didn’t adjust much but for a little in the 3rd quarter when we ran a little more and a couple short passes like the one to Waddle on an 8 yard out that he turned into a 17 yard gain. Once we got within 6 points, it was like MM went back to the same shit that was not working trying to get chunk yards where all the DB’s were sitting.

I remember in the first half of the season we were hitting a good number of throws underneath and then hitting the longer ones. We are not seeing that now.

Last night we had 0 receptions by a TE and only 1 reception by a RB. How do you keep a defense honest like that?

Is it Tua or is it MM?

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I thought it was weird last night when we threw to Gesicki that collinsworth acted like it wasn’t what we wanted to do

I really expected Gesicki and The RBs to be utilized in the passing game more if we were not able to hit the wrs

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

  60. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I just think we need to go back to the drawing board and make a few adjustments

I don’t think the picture is complete as to the kind of offense we want to be

Beating Buffalo in Buffalo is all I care about now
We know we can play much better offense than we have the last 2 weeks
So let’s get back to that

  61. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

To all you chicken littles out there:

fivethirtyeight has our chances at making the playoffs at 73%

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Yes- if we won last night they were 98%. If we lose this week they will be lower than 73%, perhaps much lower depending on how other games play out.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

But you got the Chicken Little reference. To me at least mainly comes down to whether or not Tua gets out of his 2 game funk. If he doesn’t what do the playoffs matter even if we back in.

      • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I definitely got the reference! Tua’s funk is a problem, but I really feel like game planning, play calling , and our inability to adapt to the opposing D’s planning against our offense is more of a liability now.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

And I will trust in McDaniel on that one. Only problem is next Sat might be the exact right plan against the exact wrong team. I’ve thought the Bills were a step above us all season.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I still think we have a decent chance to make the playoffs.

We’ll lose to Buffalo, beat GB, then if we can get one win against the Pets or Jest, we have a decent chance of backing in and being one and done, lol.

  62. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

We only targeted TE/RB’s 4 times last night with 1 completion.

Compare that with our one really blowout win vs Cleveland. I’m not counting Houston game as a blowout because we tried to let them come back and they shut our O down in the second half and had to take Tua out before we lost him for the season. That second half was ugly and it’s been that way ever since.

But, the Cleveland game, we targeted TE/RB’s 16 times on 33 pass attempts completing 12 of 16. On top of that (not counting QB rush attempts) we ran the ball 29 times (1 was a rush by Smythe).

That sort of play calling was missing last night.

  63. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I’m a little less fatalistic than I was last night. We’re not SB competitors this year, that much is clear. But I still believe McDaniel is the answer at HC. I still think we’re a better team than we’ve been in years. I still think we’ll be better next year when we get a new DC, a new ST coordinator, and we have a year for our offensive system to gel and establish. I still think we have loads of talent.

Wilkins is quickly becoming one of the absolute best DTs in the league, Phillips is coming on, Chubb is a player. That is a good core dline. We have Kohou and Holland to build around in the secondary.

We have Hill, Waddle, and Mostert, and Wilson. We have a couple of quality oline pieces that aren’t always injured in Williams and Hunt.

But the reality of all that is we’re still fucking building, rebuilding, retooling, reconstructing, remodeling, renovating, restoring, revamping, remaking, or whatever you want to call it.

Maybe this cycle will be different and we won’t take a step back year like we always do. Maybe we’ll build on this year and be better next year. I’m just tired of the same ol’ wash, rinse, repeat, and it’s hard to see us at this particular stage as any different than it has been the last 5 or 6 times we’ve been here in the last 20 years.

Show promise, have hope, fail spectacularly when it matters, miss the playoffs or back in for a one and done, take a step back the next year, and again the year after that, rebuild, show promise, have hope…

  64. It would be nice to run the ball better but it seems we’re not capable of a consistent running game. That’s where the play-action comes from.

    Any news on Wilson’s injury?

  65. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

We’ve all seen them squirting fluid into the mouths of our favorite players, but is it a living?

“the average NFL water boy salary is actually around $53,000”

But in their defense, they are normally kids who just got their degree in physical therapy and are trying to land a spot as a trainer on the team.

  66. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    Tim,

If we can’t run the ball then this offense is not going to reach its full potential. We are one dimensional right now, and teams have found a way to stop us. When you don’t have a run game to go to there is nothing left to fall back on, which is one of the reasons we have struggled offensively for the past 2 1/2 games . We have scored 35 points in the past 2 1/2 games, which is counting the Tyreek fumble anomaly. Yes, SF was one of those teams but so was Houston and also SD, two pathetic defenses.

  67. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

Our first drive was 3 incomplete passes
Our second drive had two runs out of shotgun and 4 passes( 2 incomplete and 1 for no gain).
Our third drive was one run, one incomplete pass, and one sack. That’s 3 runs to 9 pass attempts.
This was against one of the worst run defenses in the league too. The game plan from the start was flawed, especially since the 49ers showed a blueprint against our passing game the week before. We’ve got Ingold, but he’s constantly being sent out wide or in motion in the passing game. Sometimes I think McDaniel is constantly trying to show this genius status or proving twitter people wrong who put down Tua, but he’s doing nothing but outsmarting himself. Where were the bootlegs and play action or getting Tua moving in the pocket to get him in a rhythm? Get some bread and butter plays to open up the offense.

We average 24 carries per game. We can’t rush with any consistency. Yes, part of that has to do with the game planning, but would you pass on 3rd and 2 with this team or would you run it?

Agree. And, if/when we try, I don’t see an issue….I don’t get it.

  72. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Kyle Shanahan showed the league how to stop/slow down our prolific Offense last week… Kyle knows Mike McDaniel that well, obviously, and leave it to Kyle to figure it out.

Saw today that Brandon Staley stated that their Defensive plan had absolutely nothing to do with what the 49ers had done last week… BULL SHIT. The only difference was that the Chargers used their DBs to riddle the middle of the field instead of LBs. We only ever throw over the middle for some reason and we’ve been figured out.

So now we have back-to-back games on tape, showing the league how to defend against Tua. It was only a matter of time… plus over the last two months, every pundit, announcer, commentator, analyst, and sports media figure has been screaming from the mountain tops that Defenses need to shut down the middle of the field when playing against Tua. That’s how badly they want Tua to fail. SMH

It’s incumbent on Coach McDaniel to change the play-calling and routes being run. Time to start throwing outside of the numbers with crosses, posts, and fades (HELLO, MIKE GESICKI!). It’s almost as though McDaniel is afraid to call those plays for some reason.

Ya can’t stick with only bread-n-butter plays because eventually, the other team (as evidenced by the last two games) will figure it out.

You KNOW the Bills have honed in on our weaknesses by now. If we don’t make some serious changes we’ll be blown out of the water in Buffalo.

  73. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I honestly don’t know what to think of Josh Boyer and our Defense. We’ve lost so many studs on Defense that it’s almost unfair to judge Boyer right now.

And I’ll say this: either X is still battling hard against his groins or he’s lost a step.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I think he should be some other team’s DC next season, hopefully someone in our division!

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I get the frustration… I truly do. But can we really put it all on Boyer? I’m not defending him any more than I’m questioning him. I just don’t know.

  74. Anyone notice that Tua seems to have lost some zip on his passes? He was throwing darts for 15-20 yards in previous games and it didn’t look like that to me the last two games.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I noticed that his mojo is gone. Man has a fragile psyche. I had no idea how delicate he is, in more ways than one.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I don’t think we score a TD against BUF, especially if it’s cold and/or wet.

      • What would cause this fragile psyche you speak of? If that was the case we don’t win the Ravens game. It looks mechanical to me.

Tua was in the MVP conversation at 8-3. He was leading in most QB categories during that time and he was 8-0 in games he started and finished. Now he’s 8-2.

Also this idea Herbert was great as if he does that every week is nonsense. He struggled in multiple games this year. I know I have him on my FF team.

There are ebbs and flows in a season. We had just won 5 in a row and all of a sudden Tua has a fragile psyche because of two losses? I don’t get that.

We’ve gone 3-0, 0-3, 5-0 and 0-2. Maybe collectively as a team we need to be more consistent. Because all phases have had their struggles this year.

Another, hopefully last, piece of my rant, is this.

Kumbaya is about team chemistry and I believe a necessary part of going all the way. It’s a moment, a season, when it all comes together. All brothers.

The other piece of that moment, is all players playing to their potential or more, is so the sum of its parts reflect a greater product….a super bowl team, i.e. you need all of your best talent on the field playing its best.

We are not that at this moment. Looks like kumbaya without the execution to me.

  77. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

What was with the SDC left guard or tackle swinging his arm before the snap? No other OL did that. WTF was that and why was it not a penalty. It seemed like movement to me and thought you couldn’t do that on the line.

Tim, Tua hurt his ankle so that might be the reason for the loss of zip. He’s thrown a lot of ugly passes the last two weeks. A lot of them were to wide open receivers which says it isn’t entirely the play calling it’s execution.

I don’t think you should be quiet about your opinion. However, I believe there is a huge difference between “excuses” vs reasons.

  86. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Tua’s issues have zero to do with his ankle and everything to do with his head, imo.

  87. son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

Tua’s seeing the rush a little bit right now, he needs to trust his instincts and keep his eyes down field. He’s getting more loose as the game goes on each week but it’s ending up being to little too late. Get the accuracy straightened back out, trust what you see, tighter tape on the ankle and let’s get it done.

  88. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Alright, so we’ve got 3 different takes on Tua on this blog, and it’s all good.

    1) It’s in Tua’s head
    2) Tua isn’t 100% (ankle)
    3) Defenses have chosen to jam and cram the middle of the field the last two weeks

It’s entirely possible that it’s a combo of all the above.

  89. Tua has faced being down by a big margin twice this year against the Ravens and Lions and made plays to win those games. What’s in his head? It doesn’t make sense to me.

  90. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Tua is missing 3-5-10-20 yard passes….all of them….easy fucking throws. Then, he’s forcing….it could be a meltdown.

    Hopefully, it’s one or two games….ear scratch…lol.

  91. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tim – I think his confidence has been shaken. Defenses seem to have found an answer and I think he hasn’t adjusted. I think he’s rhythmic and anticipatory, and now that defenses have disrupted this, he’s struggled. He’s still trying to make the same throws he was making and now that he can’t he’s lost his confidence

I will state it again 8-7 and having to beat the Pats and Jets to get in. If I am wrong, you will never hear from me again….. consider it an incentive/blessing

I don’t want to hear ya say something like “you will never hear from me again”. C’mon, man. You’re a valued poster here.

Not true. Already established that I don’t do anything for this place. Just saying for the last year or so: this team breaks hearts, don’t get sucked in anymore.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I’ll give ya that this team breaks hearts… VERY true!

  93. By the way Tua first hurt his ankle in the Bills game week 3 on that QB sneak try. He also had a back injury as he was bent in half on that same play. That’s what he said was the reason his legs went out on him when he got up after being pushed down where the announcer said he hit his head. Then it was reported he had an ankle injury a couple of weeks ago. His accuracy issues look more physical to me than mental. The lack of zip I mentioned earlier.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Your argument is winning me over… it makes sense to me. HOWEVER, do not discount that over the last two games both the 49ers and Chargers jammed and crammed the middle of the field… Tua’s bread-n-butter.

  94. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tim – it’s so much more than losing the games. Tua has been a train wreck, even worse than he was last year. He’s barely completed 50% of his passes the last 2 weeks combined. He’s so off. Does his ankle look injured when he runs? Not to me.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

If he plays 3/4 as good as almost any other game this season, we win both games. He was so bad this past game, without the freak fumble recovery and TD run by Tyreek, we’re not even in that game. Are you not seeing this?

  95. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

My biggest gripe with our team this year is that we can’t have consistency with all 3 phases of the game (heck, our STs suck) in one game.

If our Offense is on fire, our Defense sucks… and vice-versa.

  96. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Bookman – that was never established, just one guy lashing out. Doesn’t mean it’s entirely true and certainly not “established”
