2023 Season – Game 6 – Panthers @ Dolphins

The winless Carolina Panthers at 0-5 come to Miami to take on the 4-1 1st place Miami Dolphins this Sunday, A.K.A Fest Day! This is the best Dolphins team we’ve seen in some time. The offense is incredible, although we have lost rookie sensation RB De’Von Achane for a few weeks as he was placed on IR this week, meaning he’ll miss at least 4 games until he’s eligible to return the week of November 19th against the Raiders. Incidentally, Jeff Wilson Jr. is eligible to return from the PUP list but it has yet to be determined if Wilson will be active. RB Salvon Ahmed and Chris Brooks will most likely share reps with Mostert, with Mostert getting the majority of the touches.

I think the majority of us have a lot of positive feelings with this team. The Buffalo game was a sobering beat down, but the team came back strong against the beleaguered NY Giants. The defense especially made their presence felt last week. In place of Jaelan Phillips, backup LB Andrew Van Ginkel has been stellar. He has made his absence tolerable, although it would be great to have both og them available. Jaelan Phillps logged in a limited practice Wednesday, along with other limited participants WR Tyreek Hill, OG Robert Jones, RB Raheem Mostert, RB Jeff Wilson Jr., and nice to see the return of DB Nik Needham, one of my faves. CB Xavien Howard (veteran rest), FB Alec Ingold (foot), and OC Connor Williams (groin), did not practice. Ingold has said he’s playing Sunday, but Williams is one to keep an eye on, and maybe a late decision.

The Dolphins are the #1 passing team with 1681 yards. The Dolphins are also the #1 rushing team with 929 yards. That’s crazy! This offense, with the exception of the 2nd half of the Bills game has been nearly unstoppable. On defense however, it’s a different story. The Dolphins have allowed the 12th most passing yards, and the 15th most rushing yards. Not terrible, but not championship level either. Vic Fangio may have the Dolphins defense turning the corner, although even a strong showing against the Panthers will still leave the question as to whether this defense, and team in general, can play well against one of the better teams, like the Philadelphia Eagles. We’ll play them the following Sunday, and they will be a better gauge as to where this team is heading.

It’s a shame the Festers won’t get to see RB De’Von Achane who just eats up yardage so quickly, averaging an outrageous 12.1 yards per carry. I’m not talking 5-10 carries, it’s 38. Raheem Mostert is also having a great year rushing and is averaging a whopping 5.4 yards per carry, which is less than half of the magic man, De’Von Achane, but still impressive. We will get to see Tyreek Hill, who has also been magical this season. Hill has 651 yards receiving and is averaging 18.1 YPR, crazy considering all the extra attention he receives. Jaylen Waddle has 245 yards receiving, 14.4 YPR. Braxton Berrios has been great getting open finding soft spots in the zones or just beating coverage to get open.

The Panthers will be showing off their rookie QB Bryce Young who is having a decent rookie season. Young has been sacked 12 times so far this season. Young has 750 yards passing with 5 TD’s and 4 INT’s and a 77 QBR. In contrast, Tua has 1614 yards, with 11 TD’s and 5 INT’s and a stellar 111.9 QBR. It would be nice to have a healthy Jaelan Phillips back, but it’s still unclear as to whether he will suit up. In any case, AVG is on fire right now, so this defense is going to bring it whether Phillips is there or not. I do hope we activate Nik Needham, but I think we have until the 29th to activate him, so it’s probably not happening this week.

No matter what happens at the game itself, this is a special time getting together with a great group. It’s such a pleasure to see you all each year, and of course, we’re thankful for Stanger’s hospitality, Chef Warren, communications man Hulk, transportation man Toba, and everyone who attends and makes it such a special time. It will be great to finally meet Herd, looking forward to that! Looking forward to meeting up again and having a great time while we’re together. Cheers!

I’ll just focus on work for the early part of the week

By Thursday, this one will be behind us

  3. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Collinsworth did say 1 thing that matters. Every year the Eagles load up on the DL and OL every year in the draft. Not sure if that is totally true but they have added some beef to that DL and OL is stout.

Recall what I stated last evening… we’re going to be alright!

  5. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

    and the game finishes with
Dolphins 10 penalties for 70 yards
    Eagles 0 for 0

Man them Eagles played a perfect clean game!

  8. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We’re fine, we need to get some key players back. 10 games to go.😂

  9. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

This game came down to the penalties (however you want to look at that) and our OL vs their DL. Our D was gassed on the last TD drive. Over 36 min TOP for the Eagles is a lot to ask from your D.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We were wounded playing a top team on the road. NFC loss not a big deal. I like what I’m seeing from our pass rush. We need to get the dogs in the secondary back.

  10. New Age's avatar New Age says:

Not a surprising outcome but still sucks to watch. I’m hoping Ramsey helps the defense later, but the OL will always be our Achilles heel. We’re a pretty good team and fun to watch but not a top tier team. 10 points of offense is pathetic. Chris Grier just can’t draft decent OL picks and loves getting injury prone dudes. We are the AFCE version of the Chargers. We haven’t beaten a good team yet and will need a lot more to handle KC in two weeks and maybe even next week with the Pats. Next week will be the true test of what kind of team we are. It should be a solid win, no ifs, ands, or buts.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Any team that is playing a backup at LT, LG and C is going to struggle against top defenses. It was a bad matchup situation this week on the road against a top team, nothing more.

      • New Age's avatar New Age says:

I hope so but we haven’t beat a team with 3 wins yet. We’ve played a smorgasbord of terrible teams to our 5-2 start. We’ve only played two good teams and got blown out both times. Is this team built to win the tough games? I’m not sure.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

I would not call this game a blow out. It was a one score game until late in the 4th quarter with 2 gutsy calls by the Eagles on 4th down to pull away

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Agree, not even close to a blowout. More like we made SO many mistakes and the loss was more self-inflicted.

  11. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

The way to beat the rugby scrum is to designate a LB to nail Hurts right in the helmet every time. I nominate Goode or Tindall oe whoever is the baddest ass we have that’s not a first stringer.
If all the teams do this, somebody will ring his bell, and once he has to go in concussion protocol, they’ll think twice about doing it 4 times per game.

  12. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

My biggest fear going into last night’s game was their OL vs our DL … and that’s exactly what happened. They essentially had the ball for an ENTIRE quarter of play more the Fins. The defense was gassed down the stretch.

But that’s exactly how to win against a good offense like ours (despite our OL being a mess). Eagles controlled the clock and set up our defense for the knockout in the 4th quarter when they were gassed.

6 home games left (all winnable … now that the Bills suck again), and only 4 road games (3 actually as “at KC” is a neutral site). All games in NFL require prep and execution, but with that their is only one home game that could be challenging (Dallas). Of the 4 ‘road’ games, KC and Balt are the big challenges.

Worse case scenario we can still be 12-5
Reasonable scenario is 13-4 (home win vs Dallas) … chance for bye week in playoffs.
Win 1 of those 2 ‘road’ games against top AFC teams = 14-3 (Not top seed, but could still be #2 seed with bye.

  13. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

Remember, McDaniels keeps talking about improving to where the best play is at the end of the season going into the playoffs. I trust that our team in December is going to look different and be better than right now. Can we be healthy in December? If “yes”, then all those errors (and penalties) can be cleaned up.

  14. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m a poor sport, etc. I am still angry about the referees calling the game last night so one sided. It was obvious (to me at least) that their was home cooking going on. We lost that game because of the Refs. BS roughing call, BS PI calls, NO calls that were egregious. Those refs should be punished by the public.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

That was one of the most lopsidedly called games I’ve seen in awhile. What made it worse was it seemed every call/none-call that went against us caused maximum damage- either killing our big drives or extending theirs to give them points.

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

it was without a doubt the fat fucking thumb of the NFL on the scales. Someone should give the refs AND Goodall the old Nancy Kerrigan treatment.

  15. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Well it seems someone else noticed the fuckery that went on with the Refs last night.

I forgot about the face mask non-call too!

    https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/sports/nfl/2023/10/23/dolphins-lose-to-eagles-and-bizarrely-have-10-penalties-while-opponent-has-zero/71286122007/

No, not bizarre. perfectly normal, nothing to see here! I hate the NFL.

  16. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I don’t think the Eagles even played particularly well.

Oh well, on to the next one. We should beat the Pets handily; they already got their big upset against the Bills. Then we’re on to Germany where we’ll face a Chiefs team that is starting to put it all together.

Another chance to measure up against an elite team- the best team in the league.

  17. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The refs were bad but I guess I’m just used to it because I see it in every game I watch.

  18. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

Take away the 2x Miami and Buffalo play each other … looking at schedules at start of season (and it seems to be holding up) … Both teams had an additional “5 tough games”.

We have a 1 game lead over Buffalo and 3 of those 5 games left … Buffalo has all 5 to go. In the Next 5 weeks they have 4 games (vs Tampa, at Cincy, vs Denver, vs NYJ) … if they lose just ONE of those home games they are in trouble, because after those, 4 of their last 5 games are on the road, all against ‘tough’ opponents (at Philly, at KC, vs Dallas, at LAC, at Miami). They are on the ropes WAY more than we are.

  19. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

This morning, Shannon Sharpe made mention of the lop-sided officiating last night… it’s not just us diehards making excuses.

Now if ‘Reek doesn’t drop the TD pass, if we don’t have a TD called back over a BS penalty, and if Tua doesn’t throw the INT in the redzone… we still had a chance to win the game…. down X and Ramsey with 3 of our starting O-Linemen out.

The game was a helluva lot closer than the score indicates and we just need to clean up some mental errors.

By the way, hats off to Jerome Baker: he played a great game last night!

  20. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Know who was invisible last night? Durham Smythe. Not sure I heard his name called once (even blocking) and he had 0 targets.

  21. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Pass-Blocking Report (Dolphins @ Eagles, per PFF)

    Durham Smythe: 0 sacks, 0 hits, 0 hurries = 0 pressures yielded (45 snaps)
    Kendall Lamm: 1 sack, 0 hits, 2 hurries = 3 pressures yielded (49 snaps)
    Lester Cotton: 0 sacks, 1 hit, 3 hurries = 4 pressures yielded (44 snaps)
    Liam Eichenberg: 0 sacks, 0 hits, 1 hurry = 1 pressure yielded (49 snaps)
    Robert Hunt: 0 sacks, 0 hits, 0 hurries = 0 pressures yielded (49 snaps)
    Austin Jackson: 0 sacks, 0 hits, 1 hurry = 1 pressure yielded (49 snaps)

    Coverage sacks: 3

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Screw PFF’s grades. Line played like crap last night

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

These aren’t grades (I can’t stand PFF’s grades either, Hulkster). These are actual numbers.

Agreed that the O-Line played like crap last night.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I’m DONE posting PFF ‘grades’… they’re absolutely skewed. But the numbers (or stats) don’t lie.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Let’s just say I don’t agree with those numbers. Tua was running for his life most of the game. Those numbers don’t reflect that

  22. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

This is a great comparison, being Eich and Connor have almost the exact same amount of snaps from the Center position on the season…

    Liam Eichenberg: 2 sacks, 1 hit, 3 hurries = 6 pressures yielded (128 snaps)
    Connor Williams: 0 sacks, 0 hits, 2 hurries = 2 pressures yielded (133 snaps)

  23. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Couple of things I took from this:

We had receiver route spacing issue numerous times this game that really impacted drives. It’s encouraging because it really impacted our offense and that is correctable.

Tua threw a 29 yd deep out route on the money without stepping into it.

I knew that holding call on Julian Hill was a terrible call.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I believe we had communication issues with the ’12th man’ roaring (Eagles fans)… that may have been the problem with the spacing issues.

Definitely occurred several times and not by the same player.

Like I’ve been stating, I think we’re going to be alright.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

All of these issues are correctable (in theory). But one thing is for sure… we’d absolutely love to have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Happy we’re playing the Chefs* in Germany, and not at Arrowhead.

  24. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

A key play was an interception by Tua Tagovailoa on a pass intended for Mostert near the Eagles’ end zone.

“I was hoping Raheem could step back and make a play on the ball,” McDaniel said. “He had an issue doing so with apparently what was legal contact down the field, so you know that those … that’s definitely not why we lost the game for sure, that play.”
    —————
This one was close but the DB did grab Mostert kind of pulling him away from going for the ball just before Slay got the INT.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The refs seem to allow a lot of holding when they want to.🙄

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

They were allowing holding by the facemask, holding by the inside of the back of the shoulder pads, holding by the inside of the back of the helmet and driving a players head into the ground by the back of the helmet / back of neck. It was an embarrassment to the NFL

I’d like to see them try keeping Eich at Center and have Williams at guess and see what happens .. Eich doesn’t have as big a snapping over the qb head issue ..

  35. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    Son,

Three games aren’t a good measuring stick, but do we keep Eich at center, and move Williams back to his natural LG spot? Maybe that’s the combo that works best. I don’t love Eich @LG, but maybe played him at C will give him a better understanding of how to play the position? It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.

  36. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

TE Dawson Knox will undergo wrist surgery and his timetable for a return is not yet known, head coach Sean McDermott told reporters.

  37. Ken's avatar Ken says:

The good thing about SF losing its second consecutive game is they have trumped us in the doom and gloom headlines

    • Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

LOL, that was my first thought too. Will the media question SF’s ability to play with “mediocre teams” (rather than elite teams). lol

Plus, they will be desperate against Cincy, and I’d like to see Cincy held back a little bit longer.

  38. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

    Eich vs Williams:
Eich needs to go back to Guard. Several of our false start penalties were because of his ‘delayed’ snaps. He doesn’t have the timing. Center has a lot more mental aspects considering they touch the ball on every play .. it’s not something you want to turn over to a guy learning it on the fly.

Williams has had some “snaps over the head”, but Eich’s timing messed up 8-10 plays either because of the delayed snap (causing false starts) or the ‘short snaps’ putting the ball on the ground (not good for our pass game that requires ‘bang-bang’ get the ball out quickness).

I’m not down on Eich. He has stepped up to do whatever the team wants him to do. However, what we really need on our OL is consistency at each position (so says half the league lol). When Williams is healthy, we keep him at center because he is WAY better at blocking from that position than Eich. I really don’t think its even close.

  39. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

In-Season Hard Knocks … this might be worse news than any of our injuries during Philly game. HATE this in-season shit. What a distraction inside the locker room.

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

is that for next season or this season? Seems a little late for this season but I never heard of them doing “in season” I have never watched the show and don’t have HBO anymore but isn’t hard knocks only training camp?

  40. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I guess they have already been doing some filming. The release is scheduled for later in the fall, but the tickler talks about the 70 berger we put on Denver and how will they come back after the tough loss to Philly.

  41. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Need to resign this young man

    ▪ Not only is Hunt rated the 11th best run blocking guard in football (per Pro Football Focus), but he has allowed only three pressures and no sacks in 258 pass blocking snaps. That’s the fewest pressures and sacks of any guard who has played that much.

“I’m aging like fine wine,” Hunt cracked. “The older I get, the faster I can play. You can play fast in this system.”

  42. Wyoming85's avatar Wyoming85 says:

  43. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Ok, so it’s not just me or us or a few of the talking heads. EVERYONE know we got the shaft in Philly but the league will never admit it.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

      This is CORRECT!

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

The only call that really bothered me was the no call PI on 4th down. Bad calls happen and I try not to bitch too much about it but that no call was inexcusable. Instead of first and goal in a one score game we turn over the ball on downs. I think that was the turning point of the game. This is also where I think the NFL needs to rework its replay rules because under both USFL and XFL rules that would have been reviewable and there is no reason why the NFL can’t review that

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

ABSOLUTELY concurred about a reviewable system that both the USFL and XFL rules provide.

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I think the game turned on the BS roughing the passer on a failed 3rd and long where Wilkins took ONE STEP and hit the passer. PERFECTLY LEGAL. Plus he pulled up and didn’t even push the QB. He legally could have crushed him with a body slam in that situation and it still would not have been a roughing call. 7 points right there.

      • Ken's avatar Ken says:

That roughing call is the type of call I don’t get too worked up about. It is a bang bang play in real time. But again under USFL and XFL rules it could have been reviewed

  44. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

    Mike McDaniel on Hard Knocks:

“I wouldn’t call it a team decision,” McDaniel said. “But at the same time, you guys know me well enough that I steer clear of worrying about things that we can’t control.”

“I think they’ll see exactly where that comes from. I don’t think it’s a bad thing for people to see our day-in, day-out hard work. I know there’s a lot of guys on this team that will garner interest, really. I think that a platform for them to showcase who they are and really the fanbase to get to know the players and coaches better, I can understand the value to the National Football League, to HBO, to NFL Films, and I can understand the value for the Miami Dolphins.”

I can understand the value for the Miami Dolphins – which is zero. It is a distraction we do not want, but like he said he has no control over the league fucking the team by way of lousy refs or by way of forcing a disruption into the locker room mid-season.

BTW I was wrong earlier when I assumed because they talked about past games in the teaser that they had already started filming. The article says they won’t start filming until after the bye-week.

  45. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I wonder how long Holland will be in protocol. Guys on other teams clear in a day (which from every rule I’ve read should NOT BE POSSIBLE but multiple guys have done it in a day or two since Tua got hurt last year) and then some guys linger on the list for weeks and weeks.

I hope he gets right soon.

  46. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Either use instant replay or don’t. Stop restricting what you replay. We as fans see all of it.

  47. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Going into this season, I felt we had better depth than any Phins lineup in decades. I still feel that way, but Lester Cotton really let us down on Sunday night. And while I still like Kendall Lamm, he’s been less than ideal filling in for T-Stead as of late.

I dunno, y’all… maybe we take a chance on La’el Collins via FA to fill in for our injured starters?

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I’d have more faith in signing/moving Collins to Guard, over Eich or Cotton at Guard.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

YES, that means when Connor Williams comes back, he’s our starting Center.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

And just maybe, Collins could perform better at LT than Lamm.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Quite obviously, we’d have to be able to ascertain if Collins is still in football shape and if he’s a fit in our Offense.

        I’m just thinking aloud.

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

is he available? Probably a reason whey if he is. We are NOT the only team playing guys on the line that should be back ups to backups

  48. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

The In-season Hard Knocks, which I didn’t even know was a thing, is a real double-edged sword. I’ll love having extra content on our team, and since I already have HBO, it’ll be there when I want it. But coming out of the bye? Right when we’re making our playoff run and really need to be focusing and dialing it in, we’re going to have cameras everywhere…that sucks.

  49. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We do have a quality and deep roster. But we’ve also dealt with injuries that don’t make us a complete team. We have yet to see the prime. But most teams go through that. We’re 5-2 and in good shape. Every game is different as we know. We see it every week.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

We should be 6-3 coming out of the bye with most of our team back and healthy.

Then we have 5 very winnable games in a row before finishing with the Cowboys at home, at the Ravens, and Bills at home. If we stay healthy the last 2 months, we could legit finish the season with 12 or 13 wins.

We didn’t lose the game because smugface mcsmuggy called his gay ass tush push on 4th down 4 times. We lost because of the refs and our oline being depleted

  59. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

That dropped TD by Hill really hurt, when at the time I felt like we would just do it again. That was a terrible drop.

Just heard a generic trade proposal: Phins trade for Danielle Hunter, offering a conditional 3rd rounder that could turn into a 2nd rounder.

I would do that in a HEARTBEAT, being we’re trying to WIN NOW.

Let’s face it: Jaelan Phillips obviously isn’t going according to plan and we need to upgrade at the position.

    What do y’all think?

Needham is back with Ramsey right behind him.
Our Dline is playing really good, we’re not keeping teams under 10 points anytime soon but when we only score 10 on offense it’s a tough ask. I like our Defense going forward and I can’t wait to see Ramsey in it.

  63. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Rock, that TD drop by Hill didn’t hurt that bad because we returned an INT for a TD right after it.

but one wouldn’t have happened without the other. Brian is right. But then who’s to say if Hill did get that TD that the rest of the game would have played out completely differently. You cannot duplicate a moment in time so even missing a traffic light can change ones life.

I don’t feel there is much meaning in this, I think it’s just one of those things, but regarding your post about the last time we beat a team with a winning record (at the time we played them)- it looks to me like it was the 1st game against Buffalo last year. So yeah, more than a calendar year.

Best game of the season thus far for Phillips.
    —————
Not so. He has only played in 2 full games this season. He was even better against the Chargers. 11 tackles 6 solo and 1/2 sack. The biggest problem he has had this year is staying healthy

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

The biggest problem he had was being totally over-hyped. Not his fault really, but that often happens when a player gets hyped to death.

    ^THIS

I feel pretty much the same way, Mike E. If it weren’t were the hype machine, the bar for Phillips would be much lower and tolerable. But being Phillips has already been seemingly put on a pedestal and anointed, the letdown is that much more dramatic.

As someone who realizes the importance of pressures (yeah, I’m one of those guys, LOL 😉 ), even I am let down by Phillips. This year is his third season, and next season we’ll have to decide whether to use the 5th-year option on him being he’s a former 1st round pick.

At this moment in time, I think the jury is still out on whether we use our 5th-year option on him.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

IMO, the thing that REALLY stands out? In Phillips’ absence, AVG has become the player Phillips was supposed to be.

I don’t really want to see AVG at ILB/MLB any longer… I want him playing EDGE, and as a starter.

We’re all still waiting for his balls to drop so he can turn into the next JT #99… and it’s unfair to compare Phillips to one of the greatest ever in JT.

    INJURIES

RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) did not practice Wednesday
WR River Cracraft designated for return from injured reserve, per the NFL transaction wire.
    WR Tyreek Hill (hip) DNP
    WR Jaylen Waddle (back) limited
    OL Connor Williams (groin) limited
    CB Xavien Howard (groin) limited
    CB Nik Needham (Achilles) limited
    CB Kader Kohou (neck) limited
    CB Jalen Ramsey (knee) limited
    S Jevon Holland (concussion) DNP
    ————-
This with Armstead and Wynn on IR.

Our secondary is beat up. Playing with 2/5 or possibly 3/5’s of our starting OL again. If Tyreek can’t go and Waddle tweaks his back again, we are going to have a very tough time beating the Pats.

This game may come down to how well our front 7 plays.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

It looks bad, especially the OL and high is killing me this season

But the thing about those injuries in the secondary is that they are pretty much an improvement from how we’ve been all season

Howard and Ramsey might play together for the first time

Needham might see action for the first time

We also have the trio of pass rushers Phillips, Chubb and a and Van Ginkle together

Holland is really just in concussion protocol – most players don’t get cleared for the first week but it’s possible

      I’m thinking Ramsey might play

If you’re like right than the CB duo with those pass rushers is probably stronger on defense than we’ve been all season

      Wilkins is healthy

If Holland does clear concussion protocol and plays, it’s actually closer to the fangio vision of the defense than we’ve seen

We might see a low scoring game

  88. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Also – I bet Hill plays
If nothing more, just to press his yardage lead farther out

And waddle with the back makes sense to get a lot of rest during the week
He was in and out last week and that might be how they manage him

    Mostert is news to me
But remember we have Jeff Wilson now and that was our Duo last season

The OL is my biggest concern
Connor Williams and Armstead missing so much time is tuning my bacon sour
