Last week’s Dolphins performance makes me feel very confident going into this week’s Christmas Eve matchup at home at Hard Rock against the Dallas Cowboys. Coach McDaniel knows he and his team made a critical mistake allowing the Titans to steal that MNF game 2 weeks ago and now his team focused on the prize. There’s a sense that they should not only win out so the team is able to secure the #1 seed, but because they have the talent and ability to do so. The Cowboys are a good football team, they have talent on both sides of the ball and should present a difficult challenge. I do believe our team is ready for that challenge.
The Cowboys are a much better team playing at home than they are outside of AT&T Stadium in Arlington. At home in Texas, the Cowboys have score 37.7 points per game while allowing only 15 points per game to their opponents. Away from Texas, the Cowboys are scoring 19.8 points per game while allowing 24.3 points per game, and this includes the season opener in which the Cowboys shellacked the NY Giants 40-0. The Dolphins defense needs to continue it’s ferocity, particularly the pass rush which has been nothing short of fierce. Only one team has more sacks the Dolphins defense, that’s the Baltimore Ravens with 50 compared to our 48. I believe that by the time we face the Ravens, we’ll have more sacks than them.
The Dolphins also have a decent disparity between their home performances and their away performances, but not nearly as drastic as the Dallas Cowboys huge chasm of home and away scoring. The Dolphins are scoring a healthy 35.8 points per game at Hard Rock and 27.1 points per game away. That’s almost a 9 point differential which pales compared to the Cowboys 18 point differential. At home, the Dolphins have allowed 16.4 points per game, but have allowed 25.5 points per game away. Here, the difference in points scored and allowed for both teams is much closer, just about 8 points per game better at home for both teams. The Dolphins defense has also been significantly better in the last few weeks. On the whole, we’re scoring 31.5 points per game and allowing 21. In our last 7 games the defense has really clamped down, allowing only 15.2 points per game, and that includes 3 away games.
I have to say, I’m thrilled we’re on Hard Knocks. I’m enjoying that like no else’s business! Not only do I get to see every Dolphins game, but now I get to see the players and coaches behind the scenes as well! I’m enjoying it ALL as I still firmly believe we’re witnessing a special season. I think this team is capable of representing the AFC in the Super Bowl. First order of business is to take care of the Cowboys in our house on Christmas Eve Day. The injury situation is still rough, I’m guessing that Tyreek Hill, Terron Armstead, Xavien Howard, Jevon Holland, Liam Eichenberg, and Andrew Van Ginkel will all suit up and play, and we’ll also see the return of RB Chris Brooks. Unfortunately on the negative side, it looks like RT Austin Jackson and RG Robert Hunt will miss another game, leaving OT Kendall Lamm to handle RT and either G Robert Jones or Lester Cotton to handle RG.
One very honorable mention, this needs to be said, make it two honorable mentions. actually. LB Duke Riley has played so well in the place of injured LB Jerome Baker. I know this will kill Hulk, but Liam Eichenberg toughing it out last week and suiting up and playing some good football deserves a big mention as well. I don’t know what kind of magic Offensive Line Coach Butch Barry is mixing up but my goodness, that guy deserves major props! I’m looking forward to spending time with family and watching the Dolphins game against the Cowboys Christmas Eve, what could be better? Tyreek Hill will be back, but what a nice game for Jaylen Waddle who really stepped up last game with Tyreek out. We need to see more of him, and not be so Tyreek Hill centric. Could we even see big Chris Brooks getting some carries to put the Cowboys away late in the game and give Raheem Mostert a breather? Stay tuned Dolphins fans!
Merry Christmas !!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Thanks Mike E. I’m liking Hard Knocks too. I still think it’s a distraction but I’d be lying if I said I haven’t enjoyed watching.
Christmas Eve is going to be interesting here. My mom has adopted the Cowboys as her team, somewhat annoying because my niece’s ex is a Cowboys fan and that’s why she has adopted them. Doesn’t matter that her DAUGHTER is a Dolphins fan. WTF?
Merry Christmas to everyone!
🎁🎄🎅🏻🐬🏈✌🏻 ❤️
WTF!!! Cowboys???? Heresy!!!!
yeah I know what you mean.
talk about interesting family football dynamics …
We’ll be in Rhode Island closer to Foxboro stadium
than we are to Hard Rock when we’re home.
All of my son’s wife’s family are strong Patriots fans.
There’s like 20-25 of them gathered on Cape Cod for Christmas Eve
and in South Boston Christmas Day.
I’ll be lucky to be allowed even a glimpse of our game with Dallas.
We’ve been up there for a couple regular season
Dolphins victories over the pats.
The inlaws always acted like they were shocking upsets.
It’ll be interesting to see how they handle being the worst team in the AFC now.
Lol…I wish I could be there when you ask them!!!!
Thank you, Mike E…..and I agree about the Dallas game. It’s December football!
Yes, and opposed to years past, it’s time to shine and fly, rather than fall on our faces!
I like your opinions on the Cowboys game Mike E.
I especially like your mention of Chris Brooks.
I think he’s a secret weapon for us at this time.
I notice he is not even on the injured list this week!
He could be fresh legs against some beat-up
DL and LB for the other teams.
I think Dallas has a DE and a DT on the injury list.
Their run D is their worst aspect and our run O is top 3.
Hoping we can do to them what James Cook did with his outside speed to the corners where they have slow edge-setters and poor-tackling DBs.
Dallas also has 2 OT and an OG on the injury list.
If we can knock Dak around early, we can do to them what Buff did.
(as far as sacks go)
Yes Naples, run at them with Mostert and Achane, and then Brooks to finish them off and control the clock. I think we need to be able to be a physical team to match up well with the Cowboys, Ravens and Bills. Mostert has been running physical all season, but having Brooks to put in there should keep Raheem fresh.
Good work Mike, I just hope they come out fired up from the 1st quarter. They really didn’t play that well the first half against the Titans
Thanks Boulder!
Hunt has been ruled out. Jackson returned to limited practice today.
I hate hamstring injuries. They linger. What do they even do for those? It seems like sometimes guys never really recover from a torn hamstring. It seems Hunt’s is a bad one, but is it a tear or just a pull? I hope we can at least get Hunt back to his former self next year.
Naples – They’re always tears, it just depends on how bad. I’ve torn them so many times, ended up with the blood pooling behind my knee. If you tear it, that’s what happens. I would classify it as a pull if you feel it and immediately stop moving, that could be a “pull” like you say. I’ve done that and been OK a week or two later.
Imo, it’s always best with hamstring injuries is too err on the conservative side, i.e. recover as long as possible, no need to rush.
^to err…
I hope we shut down their first drive and come out and score on our first drive so that they are playing from behind all game. TOO often this year we have not scored on our first possession. I would LOVE to score on offense AND defense in the first quarter to really have the reeling.
Good article Mike E! You da man! Thank you again for keeping this place going.
Thanks Rock!
Nice write, Mike! I’m so enjoying this season. The Cowboys have been leaky against the run lately so I expect us to challenge them on the ground early and often.
We’re one sack shy of the most we’ve ever had in a season at 49 in 83 and 05. I expect us to break that and finally get into the 50s.🙂
Thanks Tim! This season has been fun and will continue to be fun as we make our way to the Super Bowl!
🙂
Krishna – The problem with hamstring injuries is you can feel good, move well, and then all of a sudden, there it goes! There were times playing softball on concrete in Brooklyn that I would tear them in back to back weeks, but then not have any issues after that. I remember someone telling me that running backwards on the sand helps you to eliminate hamstring injuries. I have no evidence that this actually works though. lol
Thank you for validating my point…lol. I don’t know about the running backward in sand, but it makes sense. So does high goose steps…lol
I know it’s early but it is Friday. This is my absolute very favorite Christmas song. It makes me tear up every time.
I PLAYED MY BEST FOR HIM PARUMPARUMPUM
{sniffles} wipes tear
This has always been my favorite Christmas song.
Hmmm…silent night?
At this point, the Dolphins have scored 26 TDs via passing,
and the very same 26 TDs via rushing.
They’ve also scored 4 defensive TDs.
We’re beating our opponents 56-35 in TDs.
We’re also winning in FGs 17-16.
So far, we have almost 2000 rush yards and almost 4000 pass yards.
We’re about 2 yards more per rush and
about 2 yards more per pass than our opponents.
We’ve converted almost half of our 4th down tries. … 9/20
And we’re plus 2 in TO ratio.
We have 13 INTs, which I don’t seem to remember being that many.
We have almost twice as many sacks as our opponents.
Tua has completed passes to 14 guys.
This is my favorite Christmas song . . .
How about a Christmas mashup
NFS

lol
I love ACDC but they slowed and stretched that song to much to make the mashup. (and I don’t like that Christmas song to begin with)
Those mashups are wicked good sometimes. Just not this time. LOL
Elliott most likely coming off concussion protocol and the Snow man was practicing today. I hope they are both healthy enough to play WELL this Sunday! We will need every man up for this one, especially with our Oline banged up and the possibility of struggling to score on offense because of it. GO DEFENSE!
^ Defense will need to keep Dallas under 20. With this OL, I don’t see us scoring a lot. Mainly because we will need to dominate in the run game.
Dear Santa, I know I have not been a good boy this year. When have I ever? You know it’s just not in my nature to be nice. That being said, I think it would bring a lot of joy to the Dolphins fans if you could please bring us a DECISIVE WIN against the Dallas Cowboys. Something like a 20 point margin would be great. Thanks!
Rock, I agree. Sometimes they try to do too much or force it with the mashups.
Even the ones that I frown upon are amazing to me. My ear is not good enough to even attempt to combine songs like that!
This might be a 27-20 type game. We need the defense to play a big game. I expect us to do everything we can to establish the run game. Spread the field laterally in the pass game and then take some shots vertically when the defense adjusts to the stretch stuff.
Mike McDaniel told reporters that he expects RB De’Von Achane (toe) to play against the Cowboys. He also reiterated that WR Tyreek Hill (ankle) had no setbacks, and he feels good about Hill playing this Sunday per Ian Rappaport
We need that speed to challenge the Cowboys defense. Make them run all over the field get them winded and pound the rock.
He’s gonna run for 200 v cowboys
Don’t forget Mostert. Would love to see 200 combined.🙂
Fantasy Playoffs (Not Toba’s Blog League)
I have as my 2nd FLEX either . . .
RB De’Von Achane -or- WR Zay Flowers -or- WR Tyler Boyd (Ja’Marr Chase is OUT)
Who do you play?
Flower self does anything, Boyd folds when ya think he should shine , leaves Achane and based on Cook performance last week I’d say safe bet
Based on matchups I like Achane. He always looks close to breaking one.
Boyd. Achane is still no. 2 to Mostert
But McDaniel gives him a series here and there to get him going and he can get you 10+ points on one play at any time. He’s a special talent.
Spread the field laterally in the pass game
——————-
That is my #1 fear in this game. Tua has to be careful on those out routes and not try to force it. Especially with DaRon Bland in coverage. He has 8 INT’s with 5 going for pick 6. He can’t get careless and just needs to throw it away.
That said, if he bites, he can be burned.
Five pick sixes in a year is fucking insane!!
He’s very good at jumping out routes.
Tim
I’m actually Achane gets some serious bulk yardage and Mostert gets a little break
I would really love it if Achane can get to 1000
And then we have have a four headed monster
Hill 1k+ receiving yards
Waddle 1k receiving yards
Mostert 1k rushing
Achane 1k rushing
So I’m not forgetting Mostert, I’m just saying he’s ripe for a little
Rest…lol
No rest until you secure a playoff spot at the least. Mostert isn’t looking for rest right now, he’s fired up! 🙂
how about 60-80 yards while Achane rips off 200?
Achane can wrack em up so fast, three runs can get him 200 LOL. I am right there with you Piggy. 4 – 1000 yard players would be a record and I want them to get it.
I’ve been pretty obsessed wi the the idea of 4 players for 1000 since M13 mentioned it
It would be the icing on the cake and kind of underlines how special this team is
It’s an icnredible stat to even get close to
But you wouldn’t know it the way the media talks about this team
We also have a shot at being #1 in the league in rushing and passing if we have a couple of strong running games – we have a healthy lead in the passing game and we aren’t far off from Baltimore in rushing
And our defense might be near the top when we finish the season too
Obviously none of this stuff matters as much as winning in the postseason
But I’m amazed that more people are in awe of how good we are this year
I do t remember other teams doing that – maybe I’m wrong
But does anyone remember a team being 1 in rushing and passing in the last 20 years?
3 guys for 1000 yards is pretty rare
I think the marshal Faulk rams did it. Maybe the cowboys and 49ers of the 90s
I just want to rub stats like these into the faces of people that doubted us….lol
This psyches me up for the cowboys game.
Mike E,
Thanks again for yet another article. I have all three players you mentioned, and I’m definitely playing Achane. He’s due for a few big runs!
He’s a trip tackle away from taking it to the house often.
1 little misstep on a misdirection play and he’s gone
Yep!
Where are you Piggy? Hopefully not still in Newark!
In Los Angelas at the airport waiting to board my flight to Sydney
The flight from Newark to LA (where there was supposed to be a 90 min layover) was delayed
So the flight from LA to Sydney left without me and about 20 other connecting passengers
Next flight was same time today
So spent the night in LA: went to an in and out burger and to Venice beach and then got some Mexican
Now I’m back at the airport about 3 hours early waiting for something else to go wrong
But I’m making baby steps to 🇦🇺
Hey Bri – thanks! I’ve had Achane in the lineup all along, was just thinking Boyd might have a good game with Chase out
At Pittsburgh and the Steelers are still in the mix. That’s what has me hesitant on Boyd. I see a low scoring game.
You have Boyd too? I just picked him up this week just in case Achane and Flowers couldn’t go
Boyd has barely done anything all season . Very mediocre.
No I got knocked out in the first round. My team was decimated with injuries. I have Chase and he wouldn’t play this week either if I had won. M*A*S*H unit down the stretch.😔

Thank you, my man: I truly appreciate that! Pretty sure I was the first — globally — to see the trend as a possibility back on Dec 3rd. Sucks that Achane has missed time since then, but a couple of big games down the stretch could make it happen. We shall see…
Be safe in your travels and enjoy your time down under, Pigster.
Having Hill and Achane in the game with Mostert and Waddle is tough on any defense. That’s a lot of speed.
HELL YEAH!!! Cue the Spaceballs clip with “LUDACRIS SPEED”!!! 😉
It’s Friday night… this is for the Pigster…

Get up and do a performance. 🤣
Just don’t yell “ This is Knife !!!”
Tim – sorry to hear that. A lot of luck is necessary to win it all.
I have Tua, Mostert and Achane
After a poor start at 1-3 I finished 8-6 to get the #4 seed but part of that surge was picking up Mostert, Nico Collins, C.J. Stroud and Tank Dell as FAs but also got Jonathan Taylor back and then lost him again. Down the stretch I lost 4 of 5 of those players. I played the guy with McCaffrey.🫣
Where has Uwantwat been? Last time I saw him here was about two months ago and he was using a new handle.

I know, it almost sounds like something dirty, right? But no, they are live performances put on by major artists, a wide variety of genres, sponsored by NPR. Essentially, it’s in an office setting with minimal space, music being played by a live band. I guess that’s a ‘thing’ now, but it’s pretty cool!

Phindog once rightfully called me an old soul, but not for this reason: my first loves were Yvonne Craig and Jaclyn Smith when I was in elementary school. I grew up on a lot of old-school stuff in my youth.
And it’s been quite some time since we’ve seen Prof Lou, but like him, I think Audrey Hepburn was one of the most beautiful women over the last 100 years.
Yeah, I’m an old soul is correct.

Jalen Ramsey Seemingly Won’t be Allowed to Shadow CeeDee Lamb
Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey expresses disappointment he won’t be allowed to shadow Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb
OMAR KELLY18 HOURS AGO
They typically don’t let the corners shadow anyone. I read earlier in the season that they didn’t have Howard shadow anyone to limit the amount of running he does. I guess with him coming back, Ramsey won’t shadow anyone either .
It was part of D strategy Vic last game, but typically not. Agree.
Well that was expressed terribly…lol
😂
M13,
I keep seeing Tyler Warren in a Dolphins uniform for some reason. I think McDaniel could get really creative with him. He’s not coming out until 2025 though as he just made the decision to stay @PSU next season.
I will also say, I think Ramsey loves that mano y mano play…competitive
And, why are ww sharing our D strategy this week after last week’s wrinkle?
Misdirection…
I think this game will come down to protection. We may need to do some creative things to give our passing game time to work. I’d like to believe we will be able to run the ball against Dallas, but after the spanking they took last week and our OL being mostly backups I’m not real confident. They’re gonna be balling out against the run, I’d guess. Play action might be very effective in this game, if we can establish the run a little. I’m looking forward to a good game. Can’t go belly up in another big game.
^ My concerns also.
Jus because Bills ran all over them last week doesn’t mean they will let that happen again this week. Bills OL wasn’t playing with a bunch of backups.
Agreed Randy. One of the things that has doomed us has been getting down BIG, early in the game. It happened in all three of our losses. If we can prevent that from happening, it will go a long way towards winning this game.
I think this is a game where if we have 4th and 3 and inside the 35, MM needs to take the FG. Put points on the board anytime you can get it.
I keep seeing Tyler Warren in a Dolphins uniform for some reason.
———-
Bryan, I had him on my TE list. Thought he was going to declare. Oh well. Probably smart move. He was looking at a mid to late day 3 pick.
He is a big dude with great hands. Almost like having another OL in there. My only question about him is if he has the quickness to fit our offense with all the motion. That’s why Long and Shaheen (besides his injuries) didn’t fit. They couldn’t get to their block on time and this offense is all about timing. I like him though. Kind of reminds me of Luke Shoonmaker who got drafted this year.
BTW, we will see Schoonmaker tomorrow as he got drafted by the Cowboys.
Actually, Schoonmaker may not see much playing time since Hendershot is back from an ankle injury.
Their main TE’s will probably be Ferguson and Hendershot.
Ferguson has looked good this season. PSU played Warren at H Back a bunch, And is definitely their best blocking TE, so his has some versatility. He was originally offered from West Virginia as a QB, so he can’t be too slow! I think he would do just fine in MM’s offense.
I forgot we have 2 NFL games today, including Bills at Chargers tonight.
Happy Festivus! Time for feats of strength and airing of grievances.
😂
Gotta know where Parsons is on every play. He can mess an offense up.
Yup. Jackson is going to have to be on.
If anyone can find a link to last weeks Hard Knocks please post!
He was originally offered from West Virginia as a QB, so he can’t be too slow!
———–
Yeah, when I looked him up about a month ago, he was projected to run a 4.64ish (low 4.6/high 4.7). That’s good for his size. What will matter is his short are quickness. Not sure what his true measures are but that site had him at 6’6 259 pounds (just looked at PSU site, they have him at 6’6 257).
Anyway, we will have to wait another year. Not to many TE’s I care for in this draft in 5th round or later. Then again, there could be another Jullian Hill, Campbell University out there we don’t know about.
short area quickness
First I heard of this
That’s odd- I saw those EXACT Scooters for the first time this morning at Best Buy: they were $900

—————
I think Tyler would be very good in our Offense, Brian. He’s run a 4.54 in the 40, so he’s got the speed we’d like at the TE position, coupled with great blocking ability.
Mind you, I don’t know what his weight was when he had run his 4.54. He may have been a freshman and much lighter.
Wow, better than what was projected
Hell yeah, BB Mike! But I just don’t know if that time was run at a much lighter weight, or if he’s always weighed around 257 pounds.
Brian,
Sorry, Bro, I can’t find any links to the last episode of Hard Knocks. I even checked the link I posted for it several days ago, but it’s been taken down. 😦
His voice is a little high-pitched for a Darth, don’t ya think? LOL 🙂
Okay, I’m seeing that Tyler Warren weighed in at 249 pounds as a freshman @ PSU. That’s probably when he ran his 4.54. He’s only added about 10 pounds since, so he can’t be too much slower.
So it’s not as though he came to PSU at 210 pounds and added 40 pounds to play the TE or H-Back positions.
That’s BIG news! Our Defense is going to FEAST!
Brian/M13, Actually the PSU TE I was more interested in was Theo Johnson. I had him ahead of Tyler Warren. If I am not mistaken, Johnson is even bigger and projected to be faster than Warren.
I’m at work and my list is at home. lol
Just looked him up. He is listed at 6’6 264 and also running a projected sub 4.6 forty.
NICE! PSU has been becoming quite the TE factory in recent years what with speed & blocking ability.
Bonner? Maybe X is more doubtful than questionable.
Actually, maybe because of Cam Smith’s hammy. Probably to replace Smith on ST’s.
Brian/M13, I have been looking at day 3 TE’s. One I really like is Dallin Holker, Colorado State, 6’5 235 projected 4.6 forty.
He caught my eye in that Colorado/Colorado State game in the beginning of the year. This dude can make some ridiculous catches, has good athleticism and YAC ability. Good route runner.
Only question I would have: can he adequately run and pass block?
IMO, Mason Rudolph is going to SHINE without Matt Canada being the Steelers* OC any longer. Well what do ya know… 7-0, Steelers*.
Our depth all the way down to the PS has done an admirable job for us this season.
Precisely! As we’ve both talked about for most of the season, we can’t remember having this much depth in a LONG time.
I think part of it is we have really good coaching. Grier and his department have done a good job bringing in players that can be serviceable in a pinch.
Jake Browning is putting some good stuff on his resume for future opportunities. As I write this he throws a bad pick.😂
Jake Browning IS looking to be a great success story. I’d rather the Stealers* win this one over the Bengals, to be honest.
FWIW, I didn’t play Tyler Boyd
The Bengals have to run something else besides screens.
Only question I would have: can he adequately run and pass block?
—————
Yes adequate in run blocking. Lined up a lot at HB, some inline and outside.
Not sure about pass pro.
Who are we rooting for?
Pittsburgh is 7-7 and Cincy 8-6 so I’d say PIT.
I was rooting for the Bengals so the would stay ahead of the Bills in the WC.
I’d rather play the Bengals than the Bills in the playoffs.
I’d like to see neither of them make the playoffs.🙂
Bengals lose and the Bills win tonight, the Bills leapfrog from 9th outside spot to the 6th seed WC team.
Both the Colts have to beat the Falcons in Atlanta and the Texans have to beat the Browns at home to move the Bills back out of the WC.
SMH at the Steelers for 4 weeks in a row
They apparently have the Bengals #. Beat them in Cincy also.
If we win out, we get a bye. No need to worry about who is WC.
That would be the preferred method.
….and not loser thinking
Yes, but that’s a tall task
I want Buffalo out, they seem to be playing now at the same level they’ve played at for the past several years
Lol…see my response to bbm
I can’t figure out for the life of me why anyone on here would want Pitt to win this game
Cincy beats 3 playoff ranked teams in a row and wait until now to lay a turd.
I figure that we want the team with the better record to lose.
What’s more, the Bengals have become lethal again with the emergence of Jake Browning.
In all sense, yeah. Just want to see Bills totally eliminated, that’s all. They are very dangerous right now.
Why do we want a team with more wins winning?
To keep Buffalo out
We have the ability to control that when we play them.😉
Anyone have Pickens on their fantasy team?
Lol

———–
OH! I now see where you’re coming from, Steve. I get you.
I’m none too good when it comes down to who, what, where, when, why, or how when it comes down to playoff calculations, seriously. And it seems to change every year regarding the calculations (ie: SOS vs SVS vs Conference W/Ls vs head-to-head, etc).
Next season, it’s going to be who dissed Taylor Swift vs those who supported Taylor Swift when it comes to playoff seeding. LOL 😉
Just ask Al Michaels! LOL
The main thing to remember after head to head is other conference losses, lose 3 to them and you generally win the time breakers
Buffalo finished with 1 loss vs NFC, so they trail others in tie breakers
Tie breakers
If we can’t beat Buffalo then we’re not who we want to be. No fear, control your own destiny and we do.
Iin the 70s we couldn’t beat the Raiders, but still won 2 SBs
BBM,
Yep, I have Pickens, and I benched him today for Boyd because EVERYTHING pointed towards that being the right move. If I get bounced out of the playoffs for that move, I’m quitting FF and never playing again.
I played him in almost every game and he’s barely done anything. I’m fucking livid
I have Pickens in the Mob league, on the BENCH
Has everyone gone to bed already? The Chargers are about to upset the Bills!!!
Woohooo. Go Chargers!
Was there ever a doubt they were going to choke this game away?
We need to take care of our own business. We do that there’s nothing the Bills can do to win the division or get the #1 seed
The funny thing is we could lose the next two and when Buffalo beats NE next week, the division still comes down to that last game
Mike E,
I will forever hate Pickens after today
Couldn’t watch the game. Busy at work. I see the final score though. That sucks.
Honestly I was just hoping that Bills fans would be disappointed this week instead of having to wait u til the final game of the season
Just do your job and win out:

As Christmas approaches, the NFL playoff races are as wild and confusing as ever, making the homestretch of the season one we’ll likely remember. The AFC entered Week 16 with nine teams boasting winning records and four with 8-6 records — all tied for the final playoff spot. The NFC had three 7-7 teams heading into Week 16.
The playoff standings are so crazy, we’ll be switching to a conference format rather than divisions from this point forward. Below, the tiebreakers for each team will be explained.
Here’s a breakdown of the current standings and what each contender is facing with the first three games of Week 16 in the books.

Well, we are about to see what this team is made of.
Yes sir
Too many years this team has had to rely on other teams losing instead taking care of their business. Guess that is why I have been so stressed since the Titans loss. We’ve been let down a lot over the years. This is where we will see if this team has truly turned the corner.
Agreed. We have injuries, but we can’t make excuses. This team needs to win today- partly for its fan base.
I expect us to show up in this game and take care of what we need to do. Onward and upward we go! We won’t need any favors from other teams, we’ll handle our own affairs! Nothing could be more exciting to watch that happen
