Dolphins must build team for this year, and beyond . . .

There are opinions all over the place as to what the Dolphins need to accomplish in the 2024 NFL Draft. There are some that are hyper focused on improving the team for the 2024 season, and basically at the cost of the future of the team. Just win this year! While I understand there is an artificial timetable in place, some due to salary cap issues, others due to how long WR Tyreek Hill will be in a Dolphins uniform, and of course the elephant in the room, the looming contract extension for QB Tua Tagaovailoa which could potentially free up some cap space this season, yet hamper us in the future. Looking at the current roster, it’s easy for this author to see the gaping hole left by RDE Christian Wilkins, and also the potential holes on the OL, despite LT Terron Armstead not retiring, the signing of OC Aaron Brewer from the Titans, and swing OT Jack Driscoll, and the one year deal for OG Isaiah Wynn. As to which is line is more desperate for help, the O-line or the D-line, that depends on your viewpoint.

To make the case for the O-line is easy. LT Terron Armstead has played more than 10 games 5 times in his 11 year career, and has never played an entire season. He almost retired, I could imagine there was some begging done by GM Chris Grier and HC Mike McDaniel, so Armstead remains an active NFL player. In 5 years, Isaiah Wynn has gone over 10 games once, and has also never played an entire season. He was the starting RT in 2022 for the Patriots and managed just 9 games. Last season with the Dolphins, Wynn played in 7 games before being out for the season. OC Aaron Brewer actually started every game for the last seasons for the Tennessee Titans. Durability is not his issue, it’s pass blocking. He’s not the worst rated OC, he’s just been less than average. RG Robert Jones played well in a backup role for the Dolphins over 3 seasons and he has been a starter for 13 games in 3 seasons. RT Austin Jackson missed one game last season, and his play has been the best in his 4 year career as a Dolphins player. We also have a few guys capable of stepping in for spot start duty such as the aforementioned swing tackle Jack Driscoll, swing tackle Kion Smith, OG/C Liam Eichenberg who played both last season, and OG Lester Cotton. Depth is not the issue, quality along the interior line is questionable and every interior OL is a decent injury risk. Another issue is you have to bank on this being Terron Armstead’s farewell season.

For the D-line, in my eyes, the case is even easier. We brought in a bunch of players for the D-line to join incumbent LDE Zach Sieler. The problem is, with the exception of NT Benito Jones (6’1 335), who may possibly be an upgrade over NT Raekwon Davis, Da’Shawn Hand is not an adequate replacement for RDE Christian Wilkins. It’s funny how departed players get completely under appreciated now that they’re gone. Christian Wilkins who played every single game and over 80% of the snaps and had the most tackles in the history of the NFL for a DT in his first 5 seasons. “He made no impact, no pro bowls!” they scream. I’m going to be shocked if a D-lineman isn’t our first pick at #21. It could be Byron Murphy II, or “Johnny” Newton, or possibly even T’Vondre Sweat, although he currently projects more as a NT.

How the draft actually plays out though could definitely impact which direction we go. In other words if a bunch of interior O-lineman come off the board before we pick at #21, or we trade back, and there’s only one IOL we have an early grade on, we may draft the IOL. On the other hand, the same could happen at DT. We may like only one or 2 guys early and if the other is gone, we may want to pull the trigger to get the one we want, full well knowing he won’t make it to #55. Despite priority, sometimes you have to get the best player at a position of need, and both lines are very needy!

Now, back to your favorite topic. Look away Tua defenders, if you must! All I want is to have a winning team, and by winning, let me reiterate by saying to me, winning is a team that can compete in the post season, in big games at the end of the season, especially those games that decide whether we play at home or travel to another stadium where the weather will negatively affect the entire team. I’m a Dolphins fan through and through, and a football fan for who follows the game pretty closely. I fully understand it’s a team effort to win a game, but when your QB, the most player on the roster can’t elevate his team, and more importantly elevate his own play to help the team, then you’re not going to be a winning team. I’m not putting up stats, because certain people, and you know who you are just ignore them anyway. QB Brock Purdy isn’t a particularly athletic QB. He had 144 yards rushing during the 2023 season for the Niners. In the playoff game against the Detroit Lions, Brock Purdy did what he had to do. He rushed for a super important 48 yards on 5 carries. The first big run was a 21 yard scramble to the Lions 4 yard line with the Niners trailing 24-17. That set up the game tying TD late in the 3rd QTR. The next big play was another scramble by Purdy in the 4th QTR with the Niners leading 27-24, from the DET 49 yard line, a 21 yard run to the DET 28 yard line. That set up yet another TD for the Niners as they held on for a 34-31 victory. The Niner defense wasn’t great, you can’t always count on that, but Purdy made some huge plays to help his team win. If we gave up 31 points and lost 31-14, you guys would finger point at the defense, despite the QB and the offense only scoring 14 points.

So that’s pretty much it in a nutshell. You need the QB to do more in big games, if you want to win in the NFL. In the last 2 seasons, that has not been the case. 2 seasons ago Tua was injured and couldn’t get us a win in games 12 through 15, so four games with the season on the line, in which we scored 18.10, 17 and 16 points against the Niners, Chargers, Bills and Packers. Then of course his season was over and that left 1st year QB, 7th RD pick, Skylar Thompson to battle the Patriots and the Jets, and then ultimately, the Bills in a wild playoff loss. This past season, with 5 games to go and a 3 game lead in the division. Against the Titans, zero TD’s, zero INT’s. We lose in a heartbreaker 28-27. We play the hapless Jets and we dispense with them easily 30-0. Then we eke out a 22-20 win against the visiting Cowboys, the NFL version of the Miami Dolphins, who can’t beat winning teams either (It’s a narrative!) Then the wheels come off against the mighty Ravens, who by the way, managed to keep their star DT and paid him! We manage to allow the Ravens 56 points, while only scoring 19 ourselves. Then the coup de grace, the season finale against our division rival Buffalo Bills. Our QB can only manage 1 TD and 2 INT’s, and while the Bills QB wasn’t much better, he had 2 TD’s and 2 INT’s and 1 fumble, but that guy is relentless! He had 15 rushes for 67 and carried and ran over Dolphins defenders all game and helped them win.

In summation, some people here scoff at Josh Allen because he’s not an accurate passer. He’s not. He can probably throw it 70-80 yards, but who knows where it’s going to land. On the other hand, he’s a winner! He’ll do whatever it takes to win, put his body on the line, damn the future, damn his life, he’s going to get it done. Yes, I understand he’s as big or bigger than a LB, so what? He may not always be pretty, but he will take the hits, and he will deliver the hits, and he will help his team win games. I love his spirit, I wish our QB had the same indomitable spirit. I wish he could help us win some big games, not in Week 3, but in Week 15, 16, 17 and 18 and then if we qualify, in the post season. If Tua isn’t the guy that can deliver that, then it’s time to move on and find the QB that can, and you keep trying until you find him, even if it takes another 20 years!

    Thanks Mike E.

I’ve come to the conclusion this entire NFL thing is about luck. The players you draft, the injuries, etc. You mention Purdy. Prime example. How lucky was SF? What if Garrapolo and that other guy didn’t get injured? He would have been on the bench and probably cut after a year or two. Instead, he’s turned out to be a really good player. Makes you wonder how many like him never saw the field?

On the other hand, how many early round busts are there? Players that are supposed to be great and end up gone in a few years.

Luck. It’s that or these scouts have no idea what they’re doing.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

You’re welcome! So are we lucky we have Tua, or unlucky? 😂

      • herdfan's avatar herdfan says:

I’m middle of the road with him. He’s not the greatest. On the other hand, he’s not the worst out there. I’ve said before he hasn’t played well enough to get a record breaking deal. But he’s not bad either. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

He’s done exactly what they asked him to do. So this year, they need to tell him to dial back that ‘play cautious’ or whatever it was a smidge or two.

And maybe we get lucky ! 😁

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

That’s fair. He’s far from the worst. I want to see more from him this year, I hope he can deliver

    Adam Schefter

    @AdamSchefter

Trade: Eagles are sending edge-rusher Haason Reddick to the New York Jets for a conditional 2026 third-round pick that could be a second, sources tell ESPN. The 2026 pick becomes a 2nd if Reddick has 67.5% playtime this season and has 10 or more sacks. If not, it’s a 2023 third

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

This really sucks! He has been a sack master and been a fan of him for a while now. Wanted us to sign him years ago before we signed the now 30 million a year Chubb.

  6. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Interesting on Mostert. So we have him though 2025 now. I wonder if they pushed any money past 2025 to hit as dead money when he is a FA? It is becoming the norm now on a lot of these contracts they are doing.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

he signed a 2 year deal

he was set to be a free agent after 2024

so he added an extra year to his contract

that’s not typically the kind of thing that should lead to pushing back money from 24 to 25

his cap hit goes down in 24, but it might just be bc he added a year

technically his cap hit for 2025 was zero….now it’s not….lol

      • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Piggy, they have done it on about 11 players now. Been posting about all the dead money in 2026 and beyond on players getting extended or just reworked to clear cap. We have 26 million in 2026 dead cap on players who will be FA.

We have 23 million in dead money on 11 players who will be FA in 2027.

Will just have to wait and see when his new contract hits if they did the same with Mostert’s contract.

        It would not surprise me.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

yeah but isn’t that when they have 2-3 years left

I wouldn’t be surprised either based on the pattern

basically my guess is adding a year to a contract that was going to expire doesn’t really call for it

      • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

No, zero years left. They are free agents and we still have money counting against our cap on them.

The contract on Shaq Barrett is an example. He is a FA in 2025 but we have a dead cap hit on him for another 4.4 million in 2025.

  7. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

there is some talk about OG Dalton Risner being a d the Dolphins

basically he fired his agent and hired Drew Rosenbus who makes his home in So. Fla (is probably a Dolphins fan) and has a good relationship with Grier

Risner had a promising start to his career making the all rookie team and then only missing 4 games in his first 4 seasons

but he’s had a couple of big injuries in the last 2 seasons

he obviously still wants to play – not sure if he’s a fit here or but it’s an interesting option

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I posted yesterday that the Dolphins were in contact with a vet FA guard and were going to revisit talks after the draft if the dolphins miss their guy in the draft. My 2 guesses were Cody Whitehair and Risner. Maybe it is Risner. I don’t know.

  9. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike, it’s not that Wilkins isn’t appreciated it’s the contract he got was elite money and he’s not elite. Elite players make pro bowls and all pro. The same with Hunt. Nobody on this blog thought those two guys were getting the contracts they got.

I’ve said it before, the money some players are getting is out of whack with the salary cap. It’s getting ridiculous.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

But it’s not though Tim. This is what is has always been. Now we have no money and sit in the bleachers and say this is ridiculous! We used to sign everyone and their mother in FA, and no one blinked. Once again, you get them to sign before they hit free agency.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We tried to sign both of them before they were FAs but their agents turned it down. To me when players who aren’t elite are getting paid like they’re elite the system is out of whack.

      • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

In hindsight, if they gave Wilkins agent what they were asking, he would be getting paid as a top 10 and not a top 5. Right about where he should be getting paid.

  10. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Tim – Last season . . .

Mike McGlinchey, who is a RT signed a 5YR/$87M deal

DT Javon Hargrave signed a 4 YR/$84M deal

This happens every year, but the prices just keep going up. It’s not a matter of whether the player is good enough or elite and deserves it, that fucking drives me crazy, because it’s what the market bears. If you’re a top player available at your position, then to that team, you’re worth it!

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Wilkins was better than Hargrave in his first 5 seasons and is probably better than him now, and is 3 years younger. You sure he’s not worth that money? You want him on that line. You need him on that line. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. lol

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

That’s why it’s hard to keep good players. We’re paying Ramsey and Hill big money because they are elite. Armstead is a great player but he’s always hurt and Chubb is becoming the same way so those two guys are probably taking up too much cap for us but Chubb was very productive for us this year until the last game. 😔

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      nfl economics are wild

not just bc of the amount of money but bc basically you have lesser players getting paid more just bc of the timing of their contract

I think maybe the CBA is to blame

This The cba requires the rookie contact to be 4-5 years for every player drafted. Imagine if the rookie contracts were 2 year (if cba permitted it)

I think that would open up the market

      more player would be available

      contracts would be shorter

and probably players get closer to their worth

right now guys are under contract for half a decade right out of college and they have one shot to really get a big contract – after their rookie context ends

so what happens – every wants their big payday bc of hey only get one shot

      that’s my 🐖 💨 on it anyway

Disappointed no one caught my “A Few Good Men” reference. You guys are slippin’!

  13. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike, on another note the Mets had one hit today, a Marte HR and a 3-1 loss. 🙄

  14. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Tim

I agree its our of whack

imo it flows from CBA negotiations

I don’t think the new CBA expires until 2030 – so get used to it

but I think the idea of rookie contracts being basically half a productive guys players career has us here

I don’t bake the players or the GMs

    my goes is aoe

how 4-5 years was accepted to make sure teams

let like they were getting the value of their draft picks

but I think it comes back to hurt teams and their owners

bc owners get hooked to rookie contracts that are busts

and every year rookies that have been productive enter the market expecting that one big contract to their carer

it would help if I nfl owners and the CBS showd

    some long term vision

they don’t. The players union is going to be measured by results in the calendar year. Same thing with nfl team success – owners are measured by profit this year

    🐖💨

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

don’t forget for this CBA they limited the salaries of draft picks , so they have made progress

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

        that’s probably the motivation

avoiding a Jamarcus Russell style of contract

but I think it backfires – you end up paying the price for the 8th best DT in the nfl once they hit free agency

not you got to pay him like he’s the best DT in the nfl just bc his contract is up

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Which is nice. Could see them try to add one on day 3 if they see one they like as a possible upgrade over Wilson or Ahmed. Ahmed has zero dead cap if he doesn’t make the 53. Wilson has 782K in dead cap but would actually clear more cap.

I think they like what they have though.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yeah I think McDaniel trusts them. He knows what he’s getting from them all. I could see a day 3 or UDFA back added to challenge the depth chart of Wilson, Ahmed and Brooks but it looks like Mostert and Achane will be the main dogs.

  21. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

Those easy wins against the stej wouldn’t have been if ARod was playing. Thats something to contend with now…if he stays healthy. Say what you want about the guy, but he’s not a back to back MVP for nothing. I hope he comes back old and having lost it. Otherwise Fins could very well finish 3rd in the division. Which I guess is not a crazy scenario.

  22. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I’m not sure this is anything more than wishful thinking or using stats to cover up weaknesses, like 3rd or 4th down and short yards to-go. Last year we called every play in the book to be successful on these down situations because we had shit up front, in the middle on the OL.

      Mike,

Good article again. I’m not quite as down on Tua ATM but I don’t think he’ll ever be more than a Cousins or Stafford. That’s good enough if you get lucky with injuries.

Wilkins is a top 5 DT based off production and age. He’ll probably end up a top 3 one this year. Both him and Hunt will be worth every penny paid as long as they aren’t injured. We really could have used a DT who gets game planned against as our DEs recover from injury. I just don’t see our first pick doing that as well.

  24. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I watched the Mets game yesterday. I thought the slide was close to being illegal, but he stayed on or around the base the entire time. I can see why McNeil was angry, but Hoskins rubbing his eyes and going “waaaah waaaah” was funny as hell.

I know we need safety help, especially since we have none under contract after this season. But can’t help wanting to pull the trigger on RB Isaac Guerendo if he is there at #158 to upgrade over Wilson or Ahmed.

      Either way works for me.

  32. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

not sure if you guys have been checking out mock drafts lately

but it seems like the new expectation is that JJ McCarthy goes to the Commanders at 2

which means we will probably see 4 QBs in the top 5-6 picks

there is also a lot of speculation that the next QB off the board will be Penix and that will be the first round

there’s a strong possibility a team wil trade up into the top 20 to go get penix

if that happens , here a shot a very good OT falls to us at 21 – or a pass rusher like Latu

I really think we can spend our 2nd return to replace Wilkins, preferably with a player like Friske, who’s a freak athlete that can bring pressure

so I’ve become focused on OT (preferably a versatile guy we can play inside) and pass rushers in the first round

Latu is probably my favorite player in the draft and I guy I think makes an immediate impact for us

I asked him how difficult it was to get recognized coming from a small school. He said it was not hard at all, “These team’s do their homework on everyone”. Thinks he might get drafted as early as the 4th or 5th round.

Had to look him up. He had 33 sacks (16 last year) and 5 FF in his college career.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

The kid I bonded out didn’t play last year and was in the transfer portal trying to get a scholarship elsewhere. He’s stressing that he fugged it all up. I gave him the names of 3 really good attorney’s who I am confident will get both charges dropped.

Don’t know who Ellis is though. I have not looked much into Edge.

There is a nice group of safeties there between #55 to about #75.

  42. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:
  43. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I’m finally looking into some Safeties today for the 5th round. A really good and solid pick? Kitan Oladapo, SS, Oregon State.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Tyler Owens is the ATHLETE of the projected 5-6 rounders, though his production in college is, well… not so good.

He doesn’t believe in ‘space’ (as in, the cosmos), he’s coming off a groin injury suffered at the Combine, but he’s that FREAK athlete.

If he goes undrafted, he’d be a prime UDFA to call right after the Draft ends.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Athletes who can’t play football and don’t believe in the cosmos is just what we need. I wonder what his IQ is? 🤣

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Malik Mustapha would be another nice SS choice in the 5th round. BB Mike has already spoken of him.

  44. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

M, yes. Oladapo is another I have mocked a few times. It seems I either select Mustapha or Oladapo at #158. Depending on what site you look at, I think Oladapa is rated a little higher.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I believe Oladapo is the in-box Safety we could use, plus his coverage grades are incredible playing there. He would allow Jevon Holland to roam free as a FS in certain sits. Plus, I feel Oladapo would allow Ramsey to roam free as a ‘chess piece’.

Yes… I’m taking Oladapo in the 5th if he’s still available.

  45. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

We should all remember… Reshad Jones was also taken in the 5th round. There IS talent to be had there in the 5th round.

  46. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

M, While you’re at it, check out Washington safety Dominique Hampton. Not sure why his stock is so low. He is a 5th year senior. He’s 6’2 215 and runs a 4.51. He was a stud for Washington last year with 108 tackles, 2 INT’s and 7 PD’s.

Many draft boards have him as a late day 3 pick, 7th round. Not quit sure why.

Maybe I should watch more than highlights. LOL

  49. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Either way, with play or leadership, Poyer should be an upgrade

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Like Randy said the other day, Poyer’s experience in the game getting guys lined up right could be a big deal. Vets who know what they’re doing can play a big role in being a good team. It’s not always about off the charts athleticism.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

“Benito is an unbelievable guy, and I would say he came in and he really did improve from the time that we got him. He started for us. He grew so much from last year to even this year. And really, he earned it. I think there were a lot of people who didn’t think he would be the starter and he did start for us. He was the better player. He was steady. He was part of the reason why we had as good a run defense as we had. I’m excited for him. I wish him the best of luck and you got a good one.” Dan Campbell

31.5 Benito’s PFF run grade last year

  54. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Happy Easter everyone!

  55. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

BBMike – There’s a show on TV, regular network TV that is, it’s on ABC, called “The Good Doctor”. Not sure if it was the last episode we watched, but the main character is a surgeon, and he is autistic, and he and his wife had a baby that is a couple of months old. The wife, Leah, is looking down lovingly at the baby (a boy), and says “Mommy and daddy love you, whatever you want to be when you grow up, a boy or a girl”. I was so disappointed they threw that bullshit in there, this really needs to stop.

  56. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Piggy, Zach Zinter is a stud! I didn’t know this though, “Zinter, a unanimous All-America selection last season, broke his tibia and fibula in Michigan’s win over archrival Ohio State in November.” He said he is 100% football ready now though after participating in a limited capacity at the combine.

I like him a lot but something tells me Harbaugh is going to draft him higher than any other team will.

  57. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Drake Nugent is stout and strong but looks like he would struggle with the everyday DT in the NFL. Looks like he is able to maintain JUST long enough. He might struggle a lot vs teams with a 3-4 and a big NT in his face instead of an even front where he can double more. Then again, I don’t know a whole lot about OL play.

He actually is coming in to the draft a little bigger than Aaron Brewer did. But everyone is different.

  58. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I also looked at the other 2 Michigan starting OL in the draft, LG Trevor Keegan and LT LaDarius Henderson. Keegan looked decent, Henderson not so much. I watched the Michigan OL vs PSU tape. ONLY one who stood out was Zinter.

The one thing that stood out to me was they are not that physically gifted (except Zinter) but they all seemed very well coached and executed their assignments well (except LT Henderson).

  59. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I looked at small school LG Mason McCormick from South Dakota State. He is listed as a PFF small school sleeper but I came away unimpressed. Their LT Garrett Greenfield looked like a much better day 3 prospect.

  60. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Tim, we mention adding a late day 3 or UDFA RB. Though small at 5’8 187, Jaden Shirden from Monmouth would be a fit in our offense. He has quick acceleration and runs in the mid to low 4.4’s. He would be a decent KR with the new rules also so we would have to use our top players.

  61. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I keep mocking LT Nathan Thomas from Louisiana to us in the 7th round. He’s 6’5 332. I am starting to hear more about him. Some think he will be a solid backup LT and others are saying he could develop into a really good starting LG in the NFL. They say he has a real solid anchor and can’t be bull rushed. A scout said he just loves football, was very impressed with his knowledge of schemes and is a film geek.

  62. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

He was on the CBS sports draft sleeper list.

  63. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I was just thinking. Yeah, I do that from time to time. lol

Our top needs to me are OL, DT and safety. The Dolphins seem to have a vet OG on standby if they don’t get their guy in the draft. I feel that they may be leaning OL at #21. Then, thinking about the defense and what they plan to run, it kind of puts safety higher on the list when we only have Holland, Poyer and former CB Campbell at safety on the roster.

Maybe they like what they did at DT in FA with adding Jones at NT and Gallimore to play opposite Seiler. They gave them both 100% guaranteed contracts. Maybe they plan to address DL later in the draft??

I was also thinking of how the Ravens liked having some hard to move beef on the DL.

One guy who comes to mind on day 3 is Northern Iowa’s NT Kristian Boyd at 6’4 317. A guy who can give goo push up the middle

  64. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

    Howdy BBM, passing thru Pensacola

  65. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

This would work, IMO. No trade downs. Vidal is another interesting late day 3 RB. He’s a bowling ball at 5’8 213 pounds and runs a 4.46 forty. Not as much wiggle/acceleration as Jaden Shirden, but at the same height, Vidal adds 26 pounds on Shirden.

    21. Graham Barton OG Duke

    55. Kamren Kinchens S Miami (FL) (or Cole Bishop S Utah) I could have taken either

    158. Khristian Boyd DT Nothern Iowa

    184. Myles Murphy DT North Carolina

    198. Nathan Thomas OT Louisiana

    241. Kimani Vidal RB Troy

I find it sometimes hard to tell

He’s a big guy so people miggb be projecting lack of speed on him – but some of the scouting reports say he’s not a great fit for zone blocking schemes and doesn’t move well

  75. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

You all know I’ve been harsh about religion in the past. I’ve tempered my thoughts on such things in recent times because I felt it was also disrespectful. I just don’t want religion in government. It’s not supposed to be in America because not everyone is religious or of one faith. But I do believe people have a right to practice their faith.

This day of Transgender Visibility on Easter is just wrong. I believe in individual freedom but transgender is biological confusion. You were biologically born male or female. Don’t tell everyone what to think about it. Do your thing and don’t force it on people. That said they have a right to not be persecuted or assaulted because of who they feel they are. The same with gay people.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tim – I don’t know to say this without seeming mean, so I’ll just say it. America needs to stop making gender a choice, it’s not. They make it seem as if you may just wake up one day and think “Hmm, I think I want to be a woman”, therefore you should act on it. It’s not a fucking hairstyle, a tattoo, or a new outfit, it’s a mental illness that is spreading like wildfire through the world.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I understand that viewpoint and share it as well. That’s why I said just be who you are and don’t force it on anyone. Every “group” not individual has this desire to be heard and recognized. Get over yourselves.
