The Dolphins first pick was made and it was a good one. I was definitely hoping we would choose an edge rusher. O-line should definitely be the next priority, but I felt EDGE was our top need. To be honest, it wasn’t Robinson that was my first choice. He wasn’t my second choice either. I was hoping Laiatu Latu fell, or Jared Verse, but as it happens, neither of them made it to our pick, but the need was still addressed. So for that I’m pleased. Brian in NY and M both both watch Penn State religiously, and Brian vouches for Chop, so I’m cool with that. What worries me is his lack of sacks at the college level, but he has what you can’t teach, maybe the most impressive burst in this draft class, and tremendous closing speed. Hopefully, the rest is coachable, and that results in a lot more production at the pro level. He’ll be ready to go right out of the chute, and they will use him in favorable situations.
We’ve discussed it here so many times, but the truth is we have no idea what the timetable is for our 2 OLB’s, Bradley Chubb (ACL surgery) and Jaelan Phillips (Achilles surgery), so therefore I felt, and the Dolphins brass also felt that OLB was as much as a priority as the O-line. In addition, the depth quality at EDGE is nowhere as deep as the O-line is, so I think we can still land a quality OL at #55. Players like, Zach Frazier OG Cooper Beebe, Christian Hayes, and Zak Zinter could help us now and down the line. One thing though about our first pick Chop Robinson though is that he will probably be a rotational player and used at multiple positions to maximize his skills. While that’s good, it’s also going to put a lot on his plate, so hopefully he’s up for that challenge. The comparison for Chop is Micah Parsons, but as one NFC scout said :
“I get the comparison to Micah Parsons, but I think Parsons was a little more polished as a football player when he came out. Chop is still a little green.” – NFC national scout
Another thing to consider is how much longer is Bradley Chubb with the team? This is his 2nd ACL surgery, and not that ends any NFL player’s career these days, I mean Frank Gore had 2 ACL surgeries before he got to the NFL, and he played 16 seasons and rushed for 16,000 yards. Chubb’s dead cap hit will be high in ’25 and in ’26, but it’s still possible he’s gone after this season or next, and of course Jaelan Phillips had his 5th year option picked up, but we saw Christian Wilkins walk, if Phillips has a great season this season and we haven’t already given him an extension, that could go poorly for us like it did with Wilkins.
As I’ve previously mentioned, the flux on the O-line is real, there are a lot of players that are here on one year contracts, so we need to find some players that will be here for a while, so I very strongly feel our next pick will be for the O-line. Sure, we could use a Safety, we could use another WR, a RB who runs with a nasty demeanor and has a little power to push the pile on short yardage plays and more. With the addition of TE Jonnu Smith, I put the priority low for TE. If Weaver follows suit from Ravens DC Mike McDonald, the safety position is important as he likes Swiss Army knife guys that play in multiple positions, so at some point in the draft I’d expect a safety to be chosen by us. Oregon State’s Kitan Oladapo who is a big Safety 6’2 216, more like a SS, but could due to his size play a little LB and excel in pass coverage against a TE. Utah’s Cole Bishop is another longer player who can also potentially cover a TE. Everyone’s favorite here thoough is Iowa’s Cooper DeJean, who is listed as a CB, but has Safety potential in the NFL. Don’t be surprised if Grier trades back either, considering once again, the huge gap between our picks from RD2 – RD5, over a 100!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

We are now ON THE CLOCK!
Malik Washington, WR, Virginia it is!
Slot receiver competition and STs.
highly productive WR in college. For 6th round, why not!
WELL, Folks, another round passes and we’re STILL sitting at ONE O-Linemen drafted to fill 3 holes on our O-Line. PAUL may be big, but he’s NOT THAT BIG!!!
I guess the FO thought that getting a back-up wide receiver with 4.47 speed was MORE IMPORTANT than getting an offensive lineman who’s good enough to plug one of our two remaining holes in the O-Line.
What are the three holes?
IOL
I’M NOW of the opinion that Miami is very unlikely to select an O-Lineman this late in the draft who is good enough to start in the NFL when the inevitable injuries hit our offensive line.
Better we try to find a potential back-up quarterback at this stage of the draft because of the likelihood that Tua will not last a full season behind this current O-Line.
Sad but true.
I like our draft so far do we have any more picks?
I see one coming up
DB next
This receiver looks really good, nice fit for or offense.
MM has added some nice pieces to his offense this offseason
we are in need of a good slot
saw the 4.7, checked Malik’s height and weight, and thought WTF
Only thing that stood out was his 42.5 vertical
Then I saw he played slot, now it makes sense, and think he has a decent shot to make the 53
They said 4.47
Man that sucks. Milton to NE.
I wanted to get him
On deck, to be on deck
Malik Washington seems a lot like Jarvis Landry
I don’t know much about the WR class this year but I think he’s got a shot at contributing – probably gonna be competing with EZ-E for playing time
Malik is awesome value this late. ANOTHER sneaky fine fit. Tough like we need to protect Hill and Waddle on 3rd and 8.
plus Janu Smith we’re much better prepared
I think fans forget what he brings to our offense.
LT Armstead
LG Wynn
OC Brewer
RG Jones/someone else
RT Jackson
Eichenberg is here
I think Eichenberg can be our LG
Eichenberg and Driscoll are someone else
Not sure but I think this is the projected.
we’re on deck, I see Stargell doing figure 8s with his bat
Pops
part of this offseason’s story is going to be whether Eichenberg can turn the corner like Austin Jackson did
he played all over the line last year and played a lot while other more polished players struggled with injuries
the pork is on Eichenberg
Wright was one of my fav RB picks. Mocked him to us a lot early on but last couple months I didn’t want to take a RB that early. He could very well beat out Wilson and Ahmed. Wilson is on his last year of his contract. Ahmed was a 1 year signing, again.
With Mostert, Achane, Wilson, Ahmed, Brooks and now Wright, I believe Wilson becomes a cap casualty soon. Only clear 1.5 mil, but still, we won’t be carrying 6 RB’s on the 53.
It’s going to be a competitive camp.
I honestly don’t think Ahmed has much of a future here either
Wilson and Ahmed look like the odd man out. Brooks is tough and works cheap and so will Wright.
Hey a safety
I like the Malik Washington signing. Ryder did a breakdown on him. He is a great fit at slot for us. What’s up EZ????
There’s your Safety. 🙂
I just hope McDaniel can improve his coaching this year.
well we got our safety
Patrick McMorris
don’t know a thing about him…lol
I selected McMorris in one of my mock drafts. I know nothing about him though.
Of course, with all my mocks, there were probably only a dozen players I didn’t select at one time. lol
is Kalen King still on the board? I’d love to add him for depth
I guess he is being perceived as a bit of a steal
I agree, he was a steal in the 6th.
You can get productive college WRs late in the draft, if you have a role for them they can be a steal
Sure looks like we have a role for him in the slot
Actually, Ahmed could be the first odd man out as he has no guaranteed money. BUT, unlike Wilson, Ahmed’s release won’t clear any top 51 cap space.
I wouldn’t mind seeing them take LT Nathan Thomas in the 7th who is more fitting at LG.
at this point whoever we pick is a project
so I just take e BPA – I don’t care what position he plays
Malik’s stats are off the charts 110 1426 9tds
He jogs mostly off the line, but is productive as he’ll
Good pick
I see the Eaglets* took my guy C Dylan McMahon. Sucks!
Ryder called it 2 months ago!
Malik Washington will be the Biggest STEAL of the 2024 NFL Draft | Miami Dolphins
Should have know Chris Grier will ALWAYS take a WR at some point in the Draft. Yes, Malik Washington was a steal.
HOWEVER, we can’t seem to ever develop our own WRs unless your name is Jaylen Waddle.
Our track record for developing WRs is absolutely abysmal dating back nearly 20 years.
What up, EZ-E?
I thought before his injury Ez-e was coming around
watching that tape on Washington, he reminds me of Landry
^
really a lot like Landry
EZ-E had an injury concern before the season started but he looked good in the PS. He was held out the entire season because of it.
it was his neck, which is always concerning.
Yes
Cam Little still on the board….
Not anymore Jax took him
Interesting they passed on NT Kristian Boyd at #198. They brought him in on a visit. Boyd went the very next pick to the Saints.
C Matt Lee would be decent at 241.
C Beaux Limmer still there also
There goes Karty
Kamal Hadden one of the day 3 CB’s I liked just went to the Chiefs.
Patrick McMorris just watched his game tape against Auburn, the most irrelevant player I’ve ever seen in a game, he plays a deep center field, like a Bobby McCain kind of (I won’t let anyone past me, but won’t make a tackle either) player
His highlights look better, got a strip sack against Caleb Williams
because we have no safety depth he might stick
OG’s Javon Cohen and Jullian Pearl still available.
Damn it Jax!!
Rock, there he goes
28 picks to go for our Mr irrelevant
TE’s Jaheim Bell and Dallin Holker still available.
maybe McMorris can be our new brandon Jones
DT’s Keith Randolph and Myles Murphy still available.
and Leonard Taylor
LB’s Curtis Jacobs and Aaron Casey still available.
Chop Robinson and Kamara!? Proves my point this morning. Edge was a priority target and not just BPA. Chubb is good as gone in 2025. Post 6/1 release cap casualty.
now let’s go hit Josh Allen over and over again!
Agreed we added depth for this year and replacements down the road.
FUCK! Jarrett Kingston just went to the 49ers! He was a sleeper pick for me, for us!
Makes TOTAL sense that the 49ers (our NFC twins) would take him.
And there goes Beaux Limmer to the Rams! FUCK!
Training camp should be interesting to watch with these draft picks, looking forward to it
Alright, give me either C.J. Hanson, G, Holy Cross, or Leonard Taylor, DT, Miami, with our final selection.
bills drafted Hardy- that sucks. He’s going to flourish with the new KO rules
Beer to you, sir.
🍻
M, CB Hardy to the Bills. Their new return man.
Wasn’t their last return guy named Hardy also?
Close, it was Deonte Harty
Ryder wasn’t overly excited about the Patrick Paul pick either.
C Matt Lee still there.
Same with OG’s Cohen and Pearl
TE’s Holker and Bell
LB’s Jacobs and Casey
DT’s Leonard, Randolph and Murphy
Give me Murphy over the remaining DT’s
Brian,
I have NO idea why our cat Kalen King hasn’t yet been drafted. Just WOW.
Consensus 1st rounder to begin the season.
I’m keeping an eye on CB Willie Drew. We brought him on a visit. Though they might take King if he is still there.
Drew may become a priority UDFA.
I’m adding Drew to my UDFA list!
He was one I think they brought in for that purpose to sign as an UDFA.
VERY,very surprised QB Michael Pratt is still available. I would trade one of our 7th’s next year and move up to get him. Mike White is gone next year and, currently, Skylar Thompson is the only QB on our roster next year.
McDaniel talked about coaching and development is a big deal. They expect players to improve throughout the season and year to year.
C Jurgens gone. I think his brother was a good C prospect drafted a couple years ago.
I’m thinking right now I trade up for Michael Pratt. He was projected 3rd or 4th round by just about every draft site.
Alright, give me either C.J. Hanson, G, Holy Cross, or Leonard Taylor, DT, Miami, or Kalen King, CB, PSU, with our final selection.
Jaheim Bell to Pats. He is a good YAC threat TE.
LT Nathan Thomas gone. I really think he would develop in to a good LG. He’s a beast.
C Matt Lee to the Bengals.
beer to you
Drinking it right now! Thanks!
Damn, C Matt Lee gone.
I feel it. Michael Pratt to the Dolphins if the Saints don’t take him at 239.
I still feel it
Another WR? WTF? Tahj Washington?
Wow! Another good late round WR.
Not crazy about another WR but something must be up with EZ E.
It would certainly seem that way!
I sensed a little attitude when he said he was ready to play and they IR’ed him anyway.
I can’t believe we drafted another Washington
More corruption is on the way… LOL 😉
I would still trade back in and take Michael Pratt.
Micheal Pratt to the Packers!
Oh well. Remember the name. lol
All good!
Still some interesting names out there who might be UDFA.
LB Tatum Bethune was another we brought in on a visit.
NOOOOOO!!! Chefs* just took C.J. Hanson! 😡
Chief’s had a really good draft.
Their GM Veach grew up and graduated about 20 minutes away from me.
Sorry, but I think Grief screwed up here on day 3 of the NFL Draft.
We’re likely done with the ’24 NFL Draft, unless we trade back into the 7th round late.
I’m giving Grief a C+ on this draft, maybe a B-.
That is where I am at. Reached on first 2 picks and one possible steal in the 6th. I don’t get the double down on WR in the late rounds. Also, a late round safety no one is clamoring about.
Tahj and Malik will be competing for the slot or last WR spot, the other likely on PS
Gonna be fun watching these 2 compete
all I know is Washington will come out on top
lol
LOL
Bethune to 49er’s dammit
We FAILED to address the IOL positions via the Draft. Again, I believe the vet IOL guy we have on call is none other than Connor Williams… who can and has played the Guard position.
Kalen King to GB
Beer back to YOU, sir!
whoever selects Mr irrelevant should have to be on hard knocks
There goes Kalen King to the Pack.
enough of this everyone is great draft, onto UFC
We drafted no IOL and no DT’s (just edge)
After draft 2 late WR, Cole Burgess might not sign with us if he gets another offer with less competition.

Aaron Wilson
@AaronWilson_NFL
Dolphins signing UTEP OL Andrew Meyer per league source 75K gtd 15K signing bonus
Slot WR in 6th and 7th are both tough little shits! Much better chance of contributing somewhere than a 7th rd lineman, imo.
Fins definitely wanting competition for the slot position … but also guys who can be ST coverage guys (because of their physicality).
exactly correct
My thought was draft an OT who could move inside and contribute sooner than later like Nathan Thomas.
Risner and Glowinski and Connor Williams are unsigned FA who can play RG.
Cody Whitehair also
My UDFA list by position
QB Austin Reed, Western Kentucky
RB Jaden Shirden, Monmouth
WR Isaiah Williams-Illinois, Ramel Keyton-Tennessee, or Cole Burgess-Cortland
TE Dallin Holker, Colorado State
OT Ethen Driskell, Marshall
OG Javion Cohen, UM
OC Charles Turner III, LSU
DT Myles Murphy, UNC or Leonard Taylor III, UM
LB Curtis Jacobs-PSU or Aaron Casey-IU
CB Willie Drew, Virginia State
S Beau Brade-Maryland, Josh Proctor-OSU or Tyler Owens- Texas Tech
When the draft grades come out, we will probably get an overall C+. Though, when they do the draft winners/losers, we could be on the loser list, maybe.
Going into OTA’s and TC with 10 WR’s, so far.
QB Austin Reed signed to Bears
Bills sign RB Frank Gore Jr
WR Ramel Keyton to Raiders
we just signed a guy named storm duck
