The good news is that the Miami Dolphins addressed to the 2 positions the majority of us felt we had pressing needs at first. Edge rusher and OL. The FMU consensus pick didn’t happen (Jackson Powers-Johnson), and yes, he was available when we picked at #21. The Dolphins chose a pass rusher with serious athletic ability and what could be a very high ceiling, but OLB Chop Robinson doesn’t have a great college resume (statistically) to show us at Penn State. The next pick was a surprise, at #55 we took Houston OT Patrick Paul. Paul had a tremendous pass blocking career there, allowing a minute amount of sacks and pressures, one of the best in college football. His run blocking left quite a bit to be desired, and Patrick Paul most likely has the longest arms in this draft at just a shade over 3 feet, 36 1/4″. Don’t think of him as a finesse guy though, Paul put up 30 reps with 225, an astounding feat with someone possessing such long arms.
We traded a 2025 3rd RD pick to move up into the 4th RD (Pick #120) to select Tennessee RB Jaylen Wright. I have to add to this that I took Jaylen Wright in my lone mock draft, but that was at pick #158 in the 5th, we took Wright at #120 4th round. I felt like we needed another young RB, perhaps not as strongly as Grier and McDaniel did though. We bring another track athlete, so the speed train continues. Wright is also a good receiver, as well as a good pass protector when he’s been asked to stay back and protect the QB, all good traits. Taking into consideration that RB Raheem Mostert is 32 years old, and despite the early success of RB De’Von Achane, Achane hasn’t been able to stay on the field, and RB Chris Brooks showed a bit of promise early last season, he was out most of the season with an injury. RB was definitely a need, and as always, running backs can usually contribute early on, so we should see a fair amount of Jaylen Wright.
With our next pick in RD 5, (#158), we selected edge rusher Mohammed Kamara. I like that we doubled down on what looks to be a very important need for our defense. Yes, we let DT/DE Christian Wilkins walk in FA, but we’ve now added a couple of good young pass rushers at outside LB with Chop Robinson and Mohammed Kamara. Kamara is actually the opposite of Robinson. While Robinson is all twitched up and a burner who didn’t blow up the college game statistically, Kamara doesn’t impress with that quick burst or have the speed that Robinson has, yet he did put up some nice stats in the college game. Kamara totaled 30.5 sacks, 45.5 tackles for loss and forced 5 fumbles. He plays with tenacity. I think this was a great pick. With the uncertainty of Phillips and Chubb rehabbing serious injuries, we now have a couple of young guys to buoy the pass rush, in addition to veteran Shaq Barrett.
At pick #184 in the 6th RD, the Dolphins finally selected a WR. There was so much talk about how the Dolphins were going to be taking a WR early, which in this writers opinion would have been ridiculous considering how many needs we had more pressing. Malik Washington (Virginia) is a compact slot receiver built like a RB (5’8 191). He has excellent run after the catch ability, and could potentially be a gadget type of player in our offense. Add him to the long list. I’m hoping Erik Ezukanma finally gets on track, but if not, then Malik Washington may get a shot, and he will also have to compete against incumbent slot guy Braxton Berrios.
Many here felt we needed a safety and with our second 6th RD pick, it finally happened. The Dolphins selected at pick #198, Safety Patrick McMorris from California. Nothing in particular jumps off the page about McMorris, but we sorely need depth, and I suppose he’ll get a chance to be just that, along with the obligatory special teams play. With our final pick (#241) in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Dolphins selected another WR, USC WR Tahj Washington. Washington is another slot type receiver with some legit special teams value. He’s a return man, both punts and kickoffs, and is also a special teams gunner on kickoffs and punts.
When evaluating our entire draft haul, it’s too soon of course to say whether we did enough to improve our team. What makes it especially hard is that our 2nd RD pick plays LT, and at least for part of this season we have our LT as long as he’s healthy. I suppose a strong showing by Patrick Paul could land Armstead on the bench or maybe even cut potentially, but if Armstead’s healthy and playing as he always does, not sure Paul fits into the plans for this season. Our first pick Chop Robinson will definitely see lots of reps in different places, all to allow him to rush the passer using his ultra quick get off and closing speed. We didn’t use any draft capital on the D-line, instead staying put with the multiple free agent acquisitions we’ve already made, and potentially might make once June 1st is past. Some potential players of interest could be the ageless Calais Campbell who would be nice opposite Sieler, or even our old friend Emmanuel Ogbah, who’s better suited on the D-line at DE rather than OLB.
On offense, I feel like Jonnu Smith will be a big factor for us. I felt we really needed someone for Tua to go to when either or both Hill and Waddle were covered and have that player do some damage. Durham Smythe caught a fair amount of passes last season but never really did anything after the catch, so Jonnu Smith will help plenty in that regard. I know we have plenty of concerns with the O-line and you can put the target squarely on our C Aaron Brewer. Our front office seem very confident and unconcerned about it, so hopefully for once, they’re right. I’d say our starting O-line on paper would be:
LT Terron Armstead
LG Isaiah Wynn
C Aaron Brewer
RG Robert Jones
RT Austin Jackson
At WR and TE, I’d say the depth chart at the moment is going to look like this:
LWR Jaylen Waddle
RWR Tyreek Hill
SWR Braxton Berrios
TE Jonnu Smith
TE Durham Smythe
At Running Back, I expect new draftee Jaylen Wright to jump the depth chart:
RB Raheem Mostert
RB De’Von Achane
RB Jaylen Wright (R)
At the bottom of the depth chart there will be serious competition between Jeff Wilson, Chris Brooks, and Salvon Ahmed.
At FB it’s Alec Ingold
On the defensive side, it’s going to look like this before the June 1st cutdowns which definitely may affect our D-line. Right now though, this is how I have it.
LDE Zach Sieler
NT Benito Smith
RDE Da’Shawn Hand or Teair Tart
At LB, how quickly the rehab goes for our two rehabbing superstars will affect the starting lineup, but to play it safe, I’ll leave both off for now:
LOLB Chop Robinson (R)
LILB David Long
RILB Jordyn Brooks
ROLB Shaq Barrett
In the secondary, this is how I see it:
LCB Kendall Fuller
RCB Jalen Ramsey
NB Kader Kohou
FS Jevon Holland
SS Jordan Poyer
On Special teams, I think we could potentially see our rookie handling PR/KR’s, but for now I’ll leave it o the incumbent Braxton Berrios.
K Jason Sanders
P Jake Bailey
KR Braxton Berrios
PR Braxton Berrios
I do think they’ll mix in Achane on kickoffs and once again the rookie WR Malik Washington, provising he makes all the cuts.
So in review, I can’t say we improved our team that much this season, with the exception on defense, where I think we’ll be leaning on both rookie OLB’s Chop Robinson and Mohammed Kamara. I know Kamara was a late RD pick but I think this kid is ready to go right now. I defer once again to PSU fans Brian in NY and M13 on Chop Robinson. I was hoping to shore up the interior O-line, where Isaiah Wynn missed lots of time, Robert Jones too, and of course the big question mark on pass blocking for C Aaron Brewer. The depth is solid, but unspectacular. LT, Kendall Lamm and LT Patrick Paul, LG Lester Cotton, OC/G Liam Eichenberg, OG/T Jack Driscoll and RT Kion Smith. Once again, I really like the upgrade at TE, specifically in the receiving aspect because I think Jonnu is going to have another big season, perhaps even bigger than his breakout season last year with Atlanta. He could really be Tua’s best friend, and a big factor on keeping drives going.
As always, we all hope for the best. I think the strategy was surprising in this draft, but I don’t hate it all, in fact I love the fact that they addressed the pass rush by doubling down. It was one of my biggest concerns, almost as much as the O-line. It seems like Grier was confident in his FA pickups on both lines, but again, don’t be surprised when more money is freed up June 1st and even after Tua gets his contract extension that we don’t sign a couple of the guys I mentioned and a ew more like C Connor Williams, if he can get himself healthy. There are a few OG’s still available too, like Mark Glowinski and oft mentioned Dalton Risner. We’ll see what happens on that front. The Jets will be abetter team, not sure about the Bills, but as long as they have Josh Allen at QB, they’re tough to beat. Hopefully Tua stays healthy, and steps up in those big games this season, and the rest of the team follows suit.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Naples, every year there are 250+ players taken in the draft and 100’s of players signed as UDFA. MOST of those are DOA and never make a roster. (1,184 are cut every year at cut down week from 90 to 53) Your “average” career includes those DOA players and it skews the hell out of the average.
It’s like the average life expectancy in the middle ages was like 40 or something. Does that mean it was unusual to run into a 60 year old back then? NO there were plenty, just the life expectancy average included the much larger percentage of infant and child mortality that occurred and dragged down the stats. Same difference.
To excuse Grief’s incompetence by implying that it’s ok to only have the majority of players under contract of less than two years by posting that the average career is only 3 years is ignorance or manipulation of a statistic to prove a falsehood (lying)
That came out harsher than I intended. I didn’t mean to call you a liar or fool. But disparaging remarks aside, the point stands.
We could have went:
WR Worthy
OT Paul
RB Wright
Edge Kamara
WR Malik Washington
OC/OG Beaux Limmer, OC/OG Matt Lee, DT/NT Kristian Boyd, OG Christian Mahogany, OC/OG Michael Jurgens, OT/OG Nathan Thomas
Then a safety.
Did they really need to draft 2 slot WR’s when we already have 5 slot WR’s on the roster? We don’t have another WR on the roster who can play boundary if Hill or Waddle go down.
We will be in the same position next year. We have ZERO OG’s under contract for 2025. ALL the DT’s we signed are 1yr rentals. We will be right back to where we were this year on the DL as Seiler and Pili are the only DT’s under contract in 2025.
I’m glad we drafted a 7th slot WR though. That’s a relief.
Having players on 1 yr contracts is only bad, if you want them longterm
Under other GMs we gave out 4 and 5 yr FA contracts, with large signing bonuses only to see them bust
There has to be some balance of 1 yr, 4 yr and rookie contracts, currently we have a good balance
Rock – we’re not going to be in cap hell forever, but that’s all the more reason to give players extensions early. We seem to be playing it by the seat of our pants, let’s roll the dice and see what happens. Sometimes it comes up snake eyes. Instead of picking up Waddle’s 5th year, we should have given him a contract similar to DeVonta Smith’s.
I tacitly agree. But we don’t know how long we will be in cap hell. The asshole keeps pushing dead money into future years for last years’ players! I haven’t checked the math but BBM pointed out we are already have 30M in dead cap for 2026!! If the asshole is allowed to keep doing it, then I say we will be in cap hell!
Looking up tacitly . . .
LOL I am agreeing without agreeing
OL under contract in 2025 (not counting Armstead who will retire)
OT Austin Jackson
OT Patrick Paul
OT Ryan Hayes
C Aaron Brewer
C Chasen Hines
DL under contract in 2025
DT Zach Seiler
DT Brandon Pili
That’s it folks!
That’s fucking sad when you look at it.
It irks me that fans here aren’t bothered by this. It’s not sustainable, and how do you get continuity when your roster gets a 30 man turnover every season?
The large roster turnover was due to cap issues, which you can blame on Ross if anyone, he’s the guy that said swing for the fences I ain’t getting any younger
When you’ve made the playoffs for 3 yrs in a row guys want to get paid, and you likely already have several high paid players, you’re gonna have turnover
Look at Buffalo, Baltimore, Philadelphia, KC…
The New England Patriots released their projected starting left tackle days after the franchise put their faith in quarterback Drake Maye with the No. 3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Patriots cut the veteran offensive lineman Conor McDermott, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC2.
I am really pissed off that Grief traded next year’s 3rd round pick to move into this year’s 4th round to take Jaylen Wright. Is he going to be a game changer? Will he even see the field behind Mostert and Achane? Another wasted pick for no reason other than he THINKS he is going to get a 3rd round comp pick for Wilkins. Fucker knows he has screwed the pooch and is desperate to save his job by mortgaging the future. The window is closed and he is buying curtains.
There were still some good OL available in 4th and 5th he could have traded for instead. Don’t know who will be blocking for these fast toys next year.
Jordan Poyer said the Fins were easy to cover once Achane was out
Obviously Waddle and Hill were being doubled and we had no one else we could count on
MM brought in 2 TEs, drafted another Achane clone and 2 slot WRs, and is looking at a vet Slot
Tua will also be less of a statue and more like he was 2 yrs ago in the pocket, when he beat some good teams
Am I reading this right?
https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/miami-dolphins
It looks like we have one player signed for 2027? and 20 million in dead cap for 12 other players?
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/overview/_/year/2027/sort/cap_total
Looks like Spotrac is reporting the same. 12 players in a “Void year” and Bradley Chubb accounting for 20M in dead cap.
All of this of course does not include the 7 players drafted this year. so we have 8 players for 2027 now….
whoa whoa whoa
You guys wanna talk football or you wanna talk smack?
They wanna talk wah
Eeyores I tell you🧐
Rock, you are reading that correctly. In 2026, 27 million in dead cap, 18 mil in dead money on Ramsey alone.
What ever happened to it’s not my money I don’t care?
Plenty on here had that opinion
It’s not, and I don’t. The salary cap, however cares, and he’s ruining the team the way he’s trying to fill the roster. If it were like MLB, Ross would spend $500M on payroll annually just to win
We could’ve drafted Micah Parsons 3 yrs ago, why didn’t we?
He sat out the covid year and had some other red flag, if I remember correctly
Chop has some red flags too, but the ceiling is high
Sometimes you have to swing for the fence, in this instance I believe the risk isn’t that much, as I think his floor is decent starter
Fins are -170 to make the playoffs, a decent favorite over teams not expected to make it
What this means is Vegas likes what Grier has done
Most on here thought we’d be worse than last year
63% chance to make it
According to the NFL Operations page, the 2024 NFL rookie minicamp dates are between May 3-6 or May 10-13. All NFL teams can choose either dates to select their three-day camp following the 2024 NFL Draft from Friday-Sunday or Saturday through Monday.
Sorry I can’t be all excited and crap rainbows out my ass about how great the team is and how awesome Grier is for building such a great Wild Card loser. How about I just don’t post? See ya.
One extreme to the other
Gee Rock. I thought I was presenting an independent, verifiable, undeniable FACT in support of what all you guys were saying about all these short-term contracts and churning players through the league.
I didn’t think I was LYING by copying and posting a FACT.
Or IGNORANT of a sport I’ve been following closely since before the AFL, before, Free Agency, before you were born.
I presented the FACT that the NFL has become a Rapid-Turnover League, much like the NBA and MLB.
I actually pointed out the SAME thing you guys are pointing out, which is it’s become a business of 1-year or at least very short-term contracts, because if you sign a FA for multiple years, there’s a good chance he’ll loaf till his contract year. On the flip side, Teams will cut a guy right in the middle of a “contract” and eat millions of dollars, so the players feel that they have no security and thus owe the teams no loyalty.
I’m not happy it has come to this, but it’s a business run by the agents and the new mentality of employees that have no loyalty and employers that don’t reward taking one for the team.
I don’t understand all the concern about 2026. There are 24-26 drafts and free agency to replenish the roster. We’re trying to win now while we have a bunch of really good players. We haven’t been this good in a long time.
And it’s not just professional sports that has become like this. Business in general and other facets of life like marriage and politics have also become exactly like this. No continuity, no loyalty, instant gratification, and cut and run at the first sign of anything difficult or unpleasant. The concept of working your way up the ladder at one company for a long time has actually become thought of as a mistake in career management by young people today, just like in pro sports.
So I think to be a successful GM in these circumstances, you must play this new system. Because the agents are telling their clients the players to work the system this same way from their side. The agent for Wilkins convinced him he could get a far bigger contract by doing it like he did. And he did.
I actually hate it this way. Wilkins was my guy, went to my college, played the game with joy like I admire, and was exciting and fun to watch. I hate it that we lost him, but guys playing their entire career for one team is fast fading completely out of style. The Fletcher Cox type career is becoming rarer and rarer, even with QBs. Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Matt Stafford, Russ Wilson. It’s not just us and our FO that has to deal with this. It’s the Biz.
Actually, it’s not completely new. I lived through the heartbreak of Csonka leaving the Dolphins for WorldFL money. People wonder why I’m not a big Zonk guy. Well hell, he cost us at least one Super Bowl, a 3-Peat, if you want to look at it that way.
Plus after the WFL failed and he had a mediocre year with the NYGiants, Csonka came back to Miami, had a decent year, then could not come to agreement on a new contract with Miami, so he just quit in a hissy fit. So don’t act like what Grier is doing or has to contend with is some new wacky failure. It’s NFL business as usual.
The difference is the transparency. Spotrac etc. publish all the grimy details of the contracts and cap space, so everybody can moan about Cap Hell.
I personally choose to focus on football, because that’s the fun part. Like Mike E. said, I root for the logo. I don’t really give a shit who the MLB is anymore.
You guys are screaming about 2027 contracts.
THAT is why I posted that the average contract is THREE years long. 2024+3=2027
You complain because “Grier selected a bunch of developmental players” AND you complain because Grier is not building for the future.
he just drafted a LT to learn from an All Pro and take over in a year.
He just drafted a fast RB to take over for an old RB in a year or 2.
He drafted a young fast but small WR to take over for Hill in 2 years.
All of these are on “cheap” rookie contracts which is all we can afford while we pay the Mega stars that got us out of 8-8 or 7-9 every fucking year.
How is that not trying to work the system as best as possible?
Like the man said, “Just win, Baby.”
I’m celebrating 4 winning seasons in a row and two playoff appearances in a row for the first time in a very long time and something hardly any other team can say they’ve done in the last 4 years. Who built that for me to enjoy?
In years past when we’ve had 3 quality OLmen we’ve had good OLs and the team thrived
Right now I’d say we have 2 qualities tackles, a C who could go either way and Wynn is also borderline
I’d like to think we could sign Conner Williams for the 2nd half of the season, but my guess is the Rosenhaus statement about him not signing anytime soon has more to do with the contracts he’s been offered and he wants to wait until healthy to get a better deal
Chances our OL is top15 when healthy I believe are pretty good, as long as RG doesn’t give us an ulcer
When our OL was healthy last year Fins were at the top of their game, and Tua was riding high, adding the weapons we did should help the OL too
I loved seeing us succeed while the jest and patsies self-destructed.
How would you like to have those GMs? I’m glad we didn’t spend $$$ for Aaron Rogers or draft Mac Jones.
Some of the guys on here never showed the slightest happiness with our season, in which we had the same record as the Super Bowl winners.
I like to enjoy life, not buzz kill it.

Guys wanna get paid, if Wilkins wanted to take a little less he’d still be with his buddies
I hear ya, Naples. You have to go for it sometimes when you think you’ve got a shot. We’ve done the never make the playoffs and always building forever deal. It’s not that fun.
But you know what? It’s your right to see things your way. And post your take on all things Dolphins.
So It’s one thing if you guys want to have a bitch and whine site.
It’s a whole other level if you want to vent your little anger management issues on me personally by ridiculing my draft pick explanations or belittling my understanding of the sport or smirking at my exuberant happiness at finally having a record I can be proud of and a team with bonafide stars such as Hill and Ramsey and Tua and Waddle and Mostert and Achane and Sieler and Holland and others.
That’s not discussing our team. That’s not disagreeing about the value of a RG vs. an Edge Rusher.
That’s attacking me.
Y’all leave Rock alone. He’s very sensitive…a delicate flower.
off-season doldrums…
There’s a video on AFC East draft grades, we won with a B+
From comments I read here and around the web I don’t think people really understand what a draft grade is, it’s simply how you did when you were on the clock
The jets getting a B- doesn’t mean they improved less than we did, just that they didn’t get the value we did, but picking higher and having more early picks, they likely acquired more talent
Different pundits give draft grades based on different criteria. Some give grades based entirely on the guy picked and where he was picked at. Others grade based on talent acquired. One guy on NFL Network literally said part of the reason we got a low day 2 grade was because we didn’t have a 3rd rd pick.
That should have read ‘…based on talent acquired vs need’.
In other words, the pick might be a slight reach, but it was a good pick for this team because they had need, so they get a better grade. I’ve seen pundits list those kinds of reasons in their grading reports. I’ve also seen pundits not adjust their grade based on need.
The grading criteria really is pretty scattershot.
Woohoo!! Cards out of the Cellar for at least a few hours…before game 2 of the doubleheader, lol.
You’re correct about everything Naples except for one thing
Csonka was a Dolphin for the 74 season so a potential 3 peat was possible. That season ended with the heartbreaking “Sea of Hands” infamous play with a game winning touchdown by Stabler. It was after that 39, 21, 42 all left.
Naples you said it all regarding the team today.
Go Fins 💪🐬👍
shit
typing too fast for my brain to keep up.
Like Chuck Norris says, “He who loses his temper, loses.”
sorry.
I blew that one.
I think it’s funny how a lot of you (without naming names as you know who you are…lol) so staunchly defend the drafting the BPA no matter your team’s needs, yet most of you all say we had a ‘decent’ draft BECAUSE we drafted best BPA based on our team needs….lmao. Or, at least, supported the strategy for THIS draft…lol.
None of us are scouts or coaches. I like that we have a competitive team and going along on the ride. It’s been a lot worse. FinsUp!
DEA looking to change marijuana’s classification from a Schedule 1 drug. So it finally won’t be in the same category as heroin and bath salts. Hallelujah, lol.
🙂
The ONLY reason to vote for Biden…lol
He drafted a young fast but small WR to take over for Hill in 2 years.
——————–
We did? Fast???
I thought you said Worthy, a superb route runner with a 4.21 forty couldn’t take over for Hill.
Malik Washington ran 4.47 and Tahj a 4.52. That’s not “fast”. Both will never be more than a slot and never be a #1 or a #2. Neither of them brings anything close to fast. But Malik is to take over for Hill. Hmmm
Don’t take this wrong. I love the Malik Washington pick for the slot!
I think the Tahj pick was a wasted pick.
Hill 5’10 191 Worthy 5’11 165
It’s about having elite speed at the #1 WR position that this offense needs to work. That was his combine weight where he lost pounds training for it, he plays heavier than that.
Devonta Smith weighed only 170 pounds at his combine.
We all hope Chop can get more sacks than he had in college, if this video doesn’t get your blood pumping…
He plays like Phillips fast and non stop
NFL tackles will get more hands on him but he has a sudden burst that’s gonna win quite a bit too
Yep!
Tim – you’ve spoken about the core of this team so many times. Core for the next 2 seasons? Then what? I’ve never seen anything like this before, and I know you haven’t either. Show me an example of when this team had a few really good players and we don’t have any of them under contract past next season. I don’t like this at all, you want continuity, you draft players and they well in your system the idea is to keep them. I think it’s bizarre how Grier is handling things
You just can’t keep all of your players, they tried to keep Wilkins and Hunt, but they aren’t on the team any longer, so why are we still talking about them?
Dynasties are rare so strike while the iron is hot.
our offense is going to be insane 💥
I think the offense got what it needed to stay out of funks against the better defenses. Janu, another back, and M Washington who might just be the real difference maker for us. I’m excited.
This I agree with 100%
last year most of the passing offense ran through Waddle and Hill
I really think that’s a huge part of what killed us at the end of the season
we really need to utilize other receivers
if we start doing that – we will be unstoppable next season
Steve – I’m not talking solely about Wilkins and Hunt. Does no one on this team deserve a long term contract?
Don’t worry Mike, Tua will get one. 😉
He probably will, I just hope he deserves it.
Why do you think that?
Hill, Chubb, Armstead, Jackson, Ramsey, Sieler, Smythe…
We were in cap hell, because we gave out too many large longterm contracts
If you meant to say for our draftees, we gave out large contracts to X, Smythe and Baker, draft was pretty bad previously
and Sanders
Mike
I’m guessing what is holding up the long term contracts for players they just optioned is the Tua contract. It’s hard to know how to allocate money over the next 5 years when you know the biggest 5 year deal is on the horizon.
if they can get the Tua deal done sooner rather than later I think it going to be guidance on when over the next 5 years they have the most money to spend - then you can balloon payments to 🐧 on a long term deal in the years where Tua isn’t taking a chunk of the cap room
I read today that Josh Allen’s cap hit is 30 million in 2024 and 60 million in 2025
the bills have 30 more millions dollars in cap room this year bc of it (to spend elsewhere)
So basically I think Tua is going to have a contract with one big cap hit year (relative to the other years) and therefore every other long term contract has to work around that one year
It was only 50 mil but they restructured him this year to make cap space adding about 9.4 mil each year. Plus his yearly roster bonuses kick in in 2025. His cap hit actually goes down every year after 2025 instead of up. In 2028, the last year of his contract, his cap hit is only 45.7 mil.
I don’t know if anyone has posted this interview yet with Mo Kamara that was done before the draft, but it was pretty good.
Just watched that after I watched the Chop video I posted above
He’s impressive in the interview, seems to have a motor/ work ethic comparable to Wilkins
“…seems to have a motor/ work ethic comparable to Wilkins”
Minus the unnecessary injuries due to stupidly, over-exuberantly leaping into people. Best of both worlds, lol.
Cool kid.
“I don’t like pressures; I’m not going to lie to ya.”
Music to Mike’s ears 🤣
Chop, Moka and Wright for sure will get playing time unlike past rookies
One of the rookie WRs should get a shot also
I see Tart starting in Wilkins spot
Talking heads seems to think we’re still interested in signing a vet WR, I don’t so
I see a backup vet S, and OG still to be signed, but it never works out that way, I’d use the X money for future considerations
When our O struggled down the stretch the OL blocked better than the results showed
Tua at times missed open receivers while throwing into double coverage on Hill and Waddle
Having his old wheels back should also help
Steve – Waddle, Holland, Phillips. Probably the 3 best young players on the team. Wilkins and Hunt were the other 2 that didn’t get paid here. Will any of them get paid here?
I expect Waddle and Phillips to get paid, Snowman wants to be paid like a QB, so good riddance to him
Malik
NFL Network’s Peter Schrager noted that his 42.5 vertical jump at the Combine “was the largest ever by anyone ever the size of 5-9 in the physical recording of the Combine.”
Good riddance??? WTF
How are you going to fit in someone that doesn’t want to be fit in?
Holland has been good at times, and other times just ok, no way we can pay him top S money
I’d like to keep him, but you have to be smart with the cap
Just like Wilkins, if he doesn’t want to be in Miami Fuck him
I guess we could keep adding 33 year old safeties from other teams on one year contracts, so there’s that. Who needs our own players we draft when they play well. Just let the young ones go and sign 5 old guys that suck instead. I’d rather see Grier go than Holland
I’d like Holland to stay, but when they want top #1 safety money you gotta let him walk
You always reference the top teams that stay on top, well they don’t stay there by paying everyone, it’s next man up
I hear the Dolphins just signed my son Jordan’s brother’s nanny’s close friend Jordan.
“Smart with the cap”. LOL – Grier has been dumb as FUCK with the cap. He has to get smart now, when it concerns our drafted player that has succeeded here? Too funny
And to correct you Steve, it’s not that Wilkins didn’t want to play in Miami, he wanted to get paid what he deserved, and paid he was.
Ok Mike

There was a poster on X (Twitter) today who reposted a question: when did our Phins begin to breakdown last season?
So I read the responses… most stated that when Connor Williams went out for the season, we started to fall hard.
LOL, like I need some no-name Twitter fucks/folks to understand that Connor Williams’ demise hurt us as bad as anything last season.
Re-sign Connor Williams!
OF COURSE, so long as he’s healthy!
We really haven’t addressed the IOL situation, have we?
Yeah we have, just not from the draft.
A big DB
because it’s like, Rhode Island,
so I guess they have nannies there.
I never had a nanny. I barely had a blankie.
I was thankful for the palm fronds.
then later on the farm,
it was my job to gather enough chick down
to stuff a gunny sack, so I could have a real pillow.
I mean I was only 5 so it took me like a month to get pillow the size of my head.
But anyway, at 6’3 215,
he could be that 5 back in the Big Nickel that DC Weaver likes to run.
He had 2 picks, but it was just at URI,
so I doubt he could replace Holland.
So I mean that’s 3 rookie safeties we brought in,
and all 3 have a shot at the 53.
We also invited 3 DTs, a CB, a RB, and a LB to rookie camp.

So for IOL
there’s Matt Jones a G/C and
another guy from UTEP, also a Center
The problem wasn’t that Wilkins and Hunt weren’t valued. Their markets were inflated.
I really wish you would stop saying this. Every player in Free Agency gets paid. The top guys get the most. The key is to pay them before they hit FA. Does it look like we’re doing that with any of our core players? You’ll be saying this time and time again as all players leave in FA because we failed to extend them. We picked up Wilkins 5th year option then let him go. We’re gonna do the same with Waddle and Phillips. It’s ridiculous already!
Chop Robinson is going to be utilized as an attack defender. I don’t want to see him in coverage too often. Use him like PSU did all over the LOS. He’s not always going to win, but he is going to beat his opponent often because of skill. He’s too fast and powerful to be blocked on a consistent basis. He only turned 21 in January.
I don’t think we give McDaniel and his staff enough credit. Everything is about Grier and him being the GM. Lots of people are involved with the construction of this team.
Can we enjoy being a two time playoff team or do we need to go back to the time when we always fell short?
NATIONBiden administration plans to drastically change federal rules on marijuana
Jeanine SantucciEduardo CuevasMichael Collins
USA TODAY
The Biden administration is poised to make a landmark change to the federal government’s position on marijuana with a proposed plan that would no longer consider marijuana among the most dangerous and addictive substances.
In what would be the biggest change in marijuana policy the federal government has taken since pot was first outlawed, the Drug Enforcement Administration will take public comments on a plan to recategorize marijuana under the Controlled Substances Act, according to a source familiar with the process. The news was first reported by The Associated Press.
The Department of Justice will send its recommendation to reclassify marijuana from a Schedule I drug to a Schedule III drug to the White House Office of Management and Budget, according to the source, who was not authorized to speak publicly. The Justice Department is expected to transmit the recommendation today, the source said.
The Department of Justice will send its recommendation to reclassify marijuana from a Schedule I drug to a Schedule III drug to the White House Office of Management and Budget, according to the source, who was not authorized to speak publicly. The Justice Department is expected to transmit the recommendation today, the source said.
The plan wouldn’t legalize marijuana at the federal level outright, but it would reclassify it from a Schedule I drug – believed highly dangerous, addictive and without medical use – to a Schedule III drug that can be lawfully prescribed as medication. Marijuana has been a Schedule I drug since the Controlled Substances Act was signed in 1970.
“It is significant for these federal agencies, and the DEA and FDA in particular, to acknowledge publicly for the first time what many patients and advocates have known for decades: that cannabis is a safe and effective therapeutic agent for tens of millions of Americans,” said Paul Armentano, deputy director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, or NORML, which advocates for cannabis to be removed altogether from the list of controlled substances.
This bureaucratic move is only a small step toward what advocates hope will be full legalization of the drug. However, the new proposed classification does not fully address the inconsistencies between federal restrictions and the laws in a growing number of states that have authorized medical and recreational use of pot. Twenty-four states and Washington, D.C., have legalized the recreational use of marijuana, and 14 other states authorize it for medical use, according to the Pew Research Center.
…..it goes on for almost a full page and I won’t bore you with the rest.
Some of you are so steeped in your myths about marijuana that you’ll refuse to read it and stay stupid…lol. Or, should I say ignorant?
Stoners rejoice!
Absolutely!
All this legalization is so the USA can profit from selling it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Putting the local weed dealer out of business. I’m fine either way
ok…lol…whatever
it’s to decriminalize it, for the destruction of America by China and Russia
There’s a video from the ’70s or ’80s from some prominent European guy on Marxism, he said it takes 20-30 years, you indoctrinate the youth thru the schools
Oh my, steveccnv…lol
Wow! Phil Simms and Boomer Esiason OUT from CBS NFL football coverage!
Good riddance…lol. Read that yesterday.
Weed shouldn’t be a criminal offense, although if you sell it it will be illegal, because you’re taking money away from the Government owned dispensaries, which is a big no no. Weed should be legal like alcohol and cigarettes
For me, I like the idea of weed being regulated. Long gone are the days when I’d trust getting it in a plastic bag from the local dealer. I don’t know what might be in it from who knows where. Fentanyl or something along those lines.
The past 2 years, I’ve gone to a state with legal recreational sales to do my shopping. Cannabis tourism. Edibles and all the different varieties-literally a kid in a candy store.
We could sign Calais, but only for a year, so I guess that won’t work

Everyone should get a 1 YR contract. This way we have a brand new team every season.
Perfect🥸
rookie minicamp, which this year is scheduled for May 10-11.
Also, weed is NOT like alcohol or tobacco, as there are NO health benefits that I am aware of.
Although there are some tobaccos, like Mapacho, that are used in teas.
….and are considered medicinal.
Weed is for people who wash paper plates and listen to Ice Spice unironically.
Ignorance is bliss…lol
anybody know why GABRIEL Murphy didn’t get drafted …
were people thinking GRAYSON lol … cuz when I saw Grayson signed with us a UDFA, I was excited until I realized it was the wrong brother.
I know more people who smoke weed than don’t. Just saying.
From my experience on this blog, it makes people much more tolerant of our GM. lol
🤣
Did I miss something where this blog become a weed support group? LOL 😉
Steve,
By the way, I concur with your 8:06 AM comment above.
THAT being stated, I’m not the JUDGE and I don’t judge (and I’m not saying that you judge either, Brother).
I’ve many friends who smoke the Mary Jane and I won’t judge them for it. Personally, I can’t stand the way it makes me feel. It doesn’t calm my nerves, it gets on my nerves.
24 states have legalized for recreational use…so far.
With everything going on in the world right now weed is the least of our problems.
No shit!

That came out wrong or could be misinterpreted. There are numerous documented cases of the medicinal/health benefits of marijuana, specifically, THC and CBDs.
“….. treating pain, insomnia, anxiety, and glaucoma, among other health conditions….
These include Epidiolex, a purified form of CBD ingested orally, that is FDA-approved to treat seizures associated with two severe forms of epilepsy. Marinol and Syndros both contain synthetic THC and are used to treat nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. Nabilone, another synthetic similar to THC, is approved as the brand name drug Cesamet for people with HIV/AIDS who experiencing weight loss and appetite loss.
A 2017 federal report found cannabis or cannabinoids were more likely to reduce pain symptoms for patients with chronic pain. Additionally, there is some evidence that cannabis is effective in treating symptoms of multiple sclerosis, particularly addressing the stiff or rigid muscles caused by the disease. One cannabinoid drug, nabiximol, a mouth spray that has both THC and CBD, has been approved in several countries but not in the U.S. Under the brand name Sativex, it has shown pain relief for people with cancer or multiple sclerosis.
Other research has examined cannabis’ uses to treat post-traumatic stress disorder, but the NIH said the evidence is mixed.”
Neither tobacco nor alcohol have health benefits. Alcohol is a poison to the body and it’s well documented, so enjoy…lol. Both are believed to be more addictive than marijuana.
The ignorance is astounding.
Dr said don’t eat anything fatty
I said, like bacon and burgers?
he said No, don’t eat anything fatty
Somebody offered Ross $10B for the Dolphins incl. The stadium and F1 race track.
yeah I’m trying to low ball him
I want the tennis stuff too
Government – How can we make more money?
Hey lets legalize weed so we can tax the shit out of it like alcohol and Tabaco!!!!
Exactly! It’s not just tax money, they own dispensaries and make money hand over fist selling weed too
it’s more like – how can we get young voters
Sounds more like a bunch of old hippies are happy to me?
I’d say both!
NICE! I feel much better about his selection after reading this.
He’s going to have to be disciplined what with those long-ass arms of his, and I’m sure he’ll learn the art. Could he move inside before taking over for T-Stead in ’25? I dunno.

That was one of the top CB’s in this draft he dusted. Lassiter from UGA.
and Bullard the other guy was also drafted.
Jaylen Wright:
“I had a 30-visit with Miami. I met the whole staff, it was cool,” Wright said. “That was the team I really wanted to go to, which is crazy. It was the best visit I had.”
A theme is developing between the walls at the Baptist Health Training Complex. Rookie tackle Patrick Paul’s desire to be drafted by Miami had him crawling out of his skin on Friday. Less than 24 hours later, Wright landed in his preferred destination.
“Our whole point has been trying to create some place that is a winning culture, winning environment that players want to come to play and win and be developed,” General Manager Chris Grier said.
Among all defenders in college football, Robinson ranked sixth in pass rush win rate (20.8 percent) in 2023.
Diving further into the advanced metrics, Robinson finished top of class in quick pressure rate (13 percent), second in time-to-pressure (2.28 seconds), and third in overall pressure rate (18.7 percent). He gets to the quarterback, and he does it quickly.
Robinson aligned in the A gap – the gap between the center and guard. From there, his quick first step puts interior linemen in peril, typically drawing a double team.
Penn State put Chop Robinson in some really cool spots. First play he’s standing up over the guard and absolutely dusts him. The quickness he has at that size is absurd. Second play he’s standing up over the center and shows off his power. He has a very intriguing skill set. pic.twitter.com/u1NVtQcpOl
The 4.48 40-yard dash grabbed the headlines when Robinson went through the Combine gauntlet in Indianapolis, but the short-area burst nearly set records.
Robinson traveled 10 yards in 1.54 seconds, just two-tenths of a second shy of the record for defensive ends and outside linebackers in the history of the event. Dolphins fans remember what it was like having Cameron Wake ripping off the left edge of the defensive line – his 10-split time was 1.68.
10-yard split
1.54 Chop Robinson
1.55 Nick Bosa
1.57 Brian Burns, Danielle Hunter
1.59 Von Miller, Jadeveon Clowney
1.62 Maxx Crosby
1.63 Myles Garrett— Dane Brugler (@dpbrugler) March 3, 2023
“Chop Robinson loves football,” Grier said. “He wants to be great. When you meet kids like that who are genuine and you understand that they truly love football and they want to be great and they know that it doesn’t come easy and they’re going to have to work, that gives him a chance to be the player that everyone thinks he is.”
That’s a theme in Mike McDaniel’s Dolphins locker room. Up and down the roster exists a burning desire to be great, and a dedication to the craft required to reach those heights.
Manny Diaz is the head coach at Duke. Prior to that, he coached Robinson at Penn State, and Jaelan Phillips at the U before that. He made his thoughts known on what Miami has off the edge with those two players.

I have my sights set on another college player next year
if you haven’t heard, our new WRs will be wearing 82 and 83 next year (I don’t know which Washington will wear which one
but I’m glad WRs are choosing numbers in the 80s again
Weed is a health issue, not a criminal one and should be treated as such.
It’s no different than any other vice humans engage in. It’s also a plant not a chemistry experiment.
I think the ignorance on this blog about weed is exactly what I thought….astounding….lol That means all the bullshit I read yesterday is really BULLSHIT…lol.
Conspiracy theories…check
Health issues/bad for you….check
Taxes…double check…you mean like gas/oil, alcohol, tobacco…rich and sin taxes
And, by the way, ALL of you ignored the economic and health benefits of this incredible plant that alcoohol or tobacco do NOT provide….WHY? Lol…just astounding.
Ya’ll sound like a bunch of OLD white fuckers…oh wait.. lol
Final words: Why would anyone be against weed, yet pontificate about the “luxuries” and embrace the protective laws of alchol and tobacco, known killers?
