Ok folks, this is the final preseason contest, and this one means an awful lot for guys fighting for roster spots. We’ll see a smattering of starters, but this game is mostly about seeing which guys step up and make their case to be included in the 53 man roster. Last week I discussed the offensive roster breakdown, today I’m going to focus more on the defense. In particular, there are quite a few young defensive backs who have really impressed in both training camp and preseason games, and we can only carry so many, especially since we have so many talented veteran safeties and corners already on the roster, such as Jevon Holland, Jordan Poyer, Marcus Maye, Jalen Ramsey and Kendall Fuller, there are but a few depth spots that remain. Is it possible any of the guys that have been here are in danger, like Kader Kohou, Nik Needham, Elijah Campbell?
I think Kader Kohou is safe. I think Nik Needham, who has stepped up in the past could be in danger, because the NFL is the most “What have you done for me lately?” league around. There are some impressive guys, guys that have worked hard all camp and preseason like CB Storm Duck, CB Jason Maitre, S Patrick McMorris and CB Isaiah Johnson. FYI, only S Patrick McMorris was drafted (Rd 6 pick #198), while Duck, Maitre and Isaiah Johnson were all undrafted free agents. It may be unfair, but this game may truly have a big impact as to whether some of these guys make the roster. Of course, it’s all cumulative, so the good work they’ve done during camp and preseason games all count, but this is the last chance to make a good impression.
Last season we carried 7 cornerbacks, and 5 safeties to begin the season. Knowing how much DC Anthony Weaver likes to use his safeties, I’d imagine we carry at least 5 again. As I mentioned earlier, Jevon Holland, Jordan Poyer and Marcus Maye who was signed earlier this year are probably locks. That leaves two more spots, so Patrick McMorris, Jordan Colbert and Mark Perry will be fighting for potentially one or two spots, At CB, it’s going to be tougher. Jalen Ramsey (who may get plenty of use as a safety in certain formations), Kendall Fuller and Kader Kohou are locked. I’d say ST’s ace, and yet another player who has played very well is CB Siran Neal. Also, Cam Smith, who the Dolphins drafted in RD 2 has played well, but also has been nicked up again. He needs to play, and play well. So with 4 locks, and maybe 3-5 spots to fight for, it should be an intense battle with Cam Smith, Storm Duck, Jason Maitre, Isaiah Johnson and Ethan Bonner, who has also flashed quite a bit. Some of these guys will end up on the practice squad, but I could see a couple of these guys poached by a CB needy team.
The defensive line and linebackers is also a little muddy. The trio of Zach Sieler (LDE), Benito Jones (NT) and Calais Campbell (RDE) are the starters. This will be the starkest contrast from last season, We carried only 5 defensive linemen, but this season in Anthony Weaver’s defense, we will have a heavy rotation of players, so we’ll need to carry at least 2-3 more DL than we did last season. This is where it’s muddy, at least for me. A few guys have flashed, but we have 10 DL, and as I’ve always maintained, I like DE/LB Emmanuel Ogbah better on the D-line despite the fact he’s listed as a LB on the depth chart., so his flexibility there could cost someone a roster spot. DL Da’Shawn Hand, Neville Gallimore, Brandon Pili, Jonathan Harris, Isaiah Mack and Robert Cooper will be competing for those final spots. That means 5 guys will be competing for potentially 2-3 spots, although I have no idea exactly how many DL Weaver will actually carry, this is just guesswork.
At linebacker, with Bradley Chubb beginning the season on the PUP list, that’s one spot that someone might have for a while longer out of necessity. The starters at inside are set, David Long Jr. along with newly signed Jordyn Brooks who signed an free agent from the Seattle Seahawks are the inside tandem. On the outside, we’ll have to see what Weaver decides to do. Will we start with Jaelan Phillips who was recently removed from the PUP list, or will he just get minimal playing time and be used in obvious passing downs? Emmanuel Ogbah and Jaelan Phillips are first on the depth chart, but you’d have to think rookie Chop Robinson will see a lot of reps as well as Quinton Bell and Mo Kamara. As far as who makes the roster, it will depend on how many spots are allocated. Phillips, Ogbah, Bell and Kamara seem like locks, especially with the uncertainty of if/when Chubb returns. Duke Riley and Anthony Walker will be the two depth guys on the inside and should be on the roster. Last season, we started with only 6 LB’s, I think we have to carry at least 7, Phillips, Ogbah, Long, Brooks, Robinson, Bell and Kamara, and possibly one more.
It’s possible the depth we carry on defense affects the offense, like maybe we carry only 3 TE’s instead of 4, or 5 WR’s instead of 6. OBJ is making things difficult being unavailable, and WR Erik Ezukanma limped off the field last game. He’s a guy that needs to suit up and play well, he looked great in the last game, so impressive, but the injuries are a real issue. He flashed early last season before going on IR after just 2 games. WR River Cracraft left the game banged up after catching a beautiful touchdown pass from Tua, so his availability is up in the air, but I think unless it’s more serious, Cracraft has earned a roster spot. I think rookie Malik Washington should have a roster spot as well due to his return ability which could put veteran Braxton Berrios in danger. I hope Ezukanma is healthy enough to go and his injury doesn’t keep him out long, because he brings something no other wide receiver we have on the roster brings, tough run after catch ability and size. Yes, TE Jonnu Smith gives you that too, but more options please!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

I think Wright made it😜
lol
Great run, but another holding
I wanted to see Horvath tonight.
Still early
We’ve seen enough of Wright. Get him out of there.
yes
just get off the field already you sad sack of cutters
Paul, “What????” lol
it’s not 42-0, but same effect for our backups, some of which we want on our PS
We’ve now reached the “KeyStone Cops” level on the roster
lol
I know it’s 3rd quarter still, but Wright doesn’t need to be in there, IMO
may not have anyone else
nitwit just changed the channel on me
Driscoll went from starting at center then to RG and now playing RT.
Thompson is the king of check down
No WR can get open
I’d put McFarland on PS before I put Wilson there
yep
Rucci is our leading receiver. lol
I was feeling good about Pili as our backup NT. Sucks! Guess we will find out something tomorrow.
Just saw this:
@DavidFurones_
Brandon Pili is on the Dolphins sideline to start the second half.
————–
@thephinsider
Good news. Doubt he plays anymore, but at least he is out there.
Horvath sighting. Carry for -1 yard. lol
Who is this Skylar Thompson guy. lol
Reason Horvath is not sticking with a team is they all are working him as a RB. He should be a FB.
Chop and Kamara were very quiet tonight.
Tindall with 11 tackles (5 solo)
I wonder if he beat out Bolton tonight.
Ah, there’s the Skylar we remember…
players we possibly benefitted from, for future use, who were injured and not likely to make initial 53: Cam Smith, Pili, Kion Smith, Cracraft, Brooks, Washington, OBJ, Chubb
Could be leaving someone out, but you get the point
8 players who will be on the roster later this year, ready to make a late season run, or next year when guys like Armstead and Lamm retire
I think Brooks will be on the initial 53. He is the biggest back they have and he was only in concussion protocol, probably precautionary.
Is McDaniel optimistic Beckham will practice before the season?
“I’m hopeful about a lot of things,” McDaniel said. “Again, I’m not nervous about it. You hope, but you have to listen to people’s bodies and be very communicative. I know he’s feeling very optimistic about how things are developing, but you just take one day at a time. And like I said before, I’m not in a position of nervousness because of the way that he’s been involved. He’s found a way to be a leader of sorts without playing. That’s tough to do, but his mindset’s right, and so I feel good about that.”
From Joe Schad
Regarding Holland, also out with an unspecified concern, McDaniel said: “He had a good, really good workout today that he was excited about. I would say it would be about day to day at this point.”
Regarding Ezukanma and McMorris, who were seen before the game wearing walking boots, McDaniel said: “I would say at this point, what I do know it’s not longer than week to week, but it could be more expeditious.”
“Aaron (Brewer), nothing has really changed with that,” McDaniel said. “Feel pretty good about it, but don’t know concrete. I think that’s why it was important tonight for us to feel really good about where Rob Jones and Lester Cotton have been at and they just try to get him some game experience.”
Why rest guard/center Liam Eichenberg on Saturday?
“Liam, it was more of a reaction to what he’s been doing day in day out and he’s probably had as good of a camp as anybody and really put together some good practices,” McDaniel said.
Not much on Benito:
As for nose tackle Benito Jones’ availability for the season, McDaniel said: “You know, it’s hard to forecast week one for a lot of the guys, specifically because in the last couple days, you know, such major focus goes to all these huge opportunities for a lot of guys. As of right now, I’m not nervous about it at all. I also need to sit down and I’ve wrapped my head around some of those guys, including Benito, because it’s just so important to me to really invest and be 100% present with the guys that are completing our roster.”
Dolphins held out 41 players in the final preseason game. More than half because they banged up.
if Skylar isn’t our #2 QB, then we were lied to all camp he was #2
Thing I like about him is his pocket presence, fits well with our OL🤫
with Malik doing what he’s been doing on STs, it makes Berrios expendable
I’d say, Berrios is tied to OBJ, if OBJ is in Berrios is out and vice versa
Referring to long term, once everyone is healthy
GT just went right down the field on FSU
FSU looks horrible, and that QB can’t get out of his own way, just like at Clemson
Wow
59 yds yeah wow
and from college hashmark
Forgot there was an extra week or bye week B4 the season starts
All in all I’d say no major injuries since camp started to starters
The ones we did have will help keep some guys around a little longer
Every team has injuries, some more than others
Last night was a good example of what happens when you play starters vs backups
You might be able to survive a few starters out, but not the entire 22
At seasons end we had more out, than we could handle
I’ve missed the whole FSU game until now. WTF! I was worried about that former Clemson QB. Also, where is that top DL for FSU they were talking about. Sheesh
They got shredded all day
Speaking of Clemson, Clemson is at #1 Georgia next Saturday.
Also, UM at Florida next weekend.
ND at Texas A&M Saturday night.
USC at LSU next Sunday.
good games
Go ND
That sucked.
FSU already on the outside looking in
@AaronWilson_NFL
#Dolphins reach injury settlement with Willie Snead
Anthony Schwartz done with a ligament tear in his knee
The Schwartz is not with him…
Too bad for him, he was PS more than likely
Bears have 4 QB’s. All did well this PS. One I would like to steal for our practice squad is Austin Reed.
He wouldn’t be any worse than White.
White is useless, he would never be a seasons long term option (5-12 games) free up his money and move on.
👍
his pocket presence is worse than Tannehill’s, his accuracy isn’t good, but he does throw ints😜
MM was given a gift by the Bucs playing their starters and kicking our ass
The big heads from TC got a reality check
Week 1 prep includes the mentality, that we aren’t as good as we thought we were
Possibly less poaching
https://x.com/DavidFurones_/status/1827723325642264827
Mike White got cut.
Yup- see ya!
Also confirmed TE Jody Fortson has been cut.
to both, don’t let the door…
Fortson was a shocker 2 months ago, not now, at camp he looked like he was just going thru the motions, maybe playbook issue, but it drops were epic
TE Rucci played a lot better than Fortson. Not a surprise.
Rucci looked like a very good chain mover, I’d keep him and trade/cut Smythe
No way! I don’t think Rucci would get poached from PS. I’d keep Smythe to the end of his contract through 2025.
in typical Brian Miller fashion
https://phinphanatic.com/posts/dolphins-fans-arent-buying-mike-mcdaniel-comments-offensive-line-01j62cj8y001
especially like the part about Jackson, not sure what his first 3 years has to do with the 2024 version
Last year our RGs when replacing Hunt graded out very good, it’s the easiest ine position to play in our system, so cost over replacement said let Hunt go
At Tackle we are deep, at C and OG we seem to be fairly deep
MM said we’re deep on the OL, that’s true, we just may not have enough in terms of the starting 5
It all comes down to 3rd down conversion rate, when we gotta have it for the O as a unit
@PFF_Dolphins
Highest-graded Dolphins in the preseason finale:
Curtis Bolton – 91.5
Malik Washington – 84.3
Brandon Pili – 83.5
Skylar Thompson – 77.6
Wyatt Ray – 75.9
It’s going to be a tough decision between Bolton and Tindall.
I would let Tindall go. He’s had three years to show something but has not.
They have done well in finding these under the radar TE’s in Hill and Rucci. Both blocking studs.

Mike White got cut.
————–
As the WR room breathes a sigh of relief. lol
The release of Fortson clears another 600K of cap on top of the Mike White release.
Fortson wasn’t in top 51, so his 425k in dead money is a hit to the cap
White’s savings is a gross figure, the net figure is 1m less
True
Rams LB Ernest Jones has been given permission to seek a trade … he was seeking a new deal with a year left on rookie deal.
Do any of you think we will attempt to trade for him ? He called the plays for their defense even at his young age … could be a good investment for our LB core for next several years. (we somehow do have some money we can spend).
we really don’t have money to spend, we have cap, but it’s needed next year
I’m not sure what Ernest Jones wants to get paid, but the $$ freed from Barrett’s retirement, cutting White, etc, etc, … I wonder if we’d be able to put together a good 4 yr deal he’d be happy with.
we’ve already invested in ILB, doubt we try to make a deal
Long is only signed thru this yea, so…
ILB’s Long, Riley and Walker are all free agents after this season. That’s 3 of our top 4.
It would be worth a shot.
For nothing more than a day 3 pick though
I’d cut Riley, it’d be a gross cap savings of 2.5m and net of about 1.5m, no one else we might cut in the top 51 will save anything over a couple hundred thousand
We also have a cap charge for cap list players 52 and 53, and some dead cap of guys we gave signing bonuses to that won’t make the 53, and guys on the PS
👍
Yep, that time. My Post Training Camp Mock Draft! I made Hunt’s comp pick a 4th round pick. Hopefully it’s not worse than that.
PICK: 22 RND: 1 Harold Perkins Jr. ILB LSU
PICK: 54 RND: 2 Xavier Watts S Notre Dame
RND: 3 (COMP) Luke Kandra OG Cincinnati
PICK: 118 RND: 4 Jamaree Caldwell DT Oregon
RND: 4 (COMP) Jonah Monheim OT USC
PICK: 131 RND: 5 Cobee Bryant CB Kansas
PICK: 150 RND: 5 Jared Wilson C Georgia
PICK: 212 RND: 7 Squirrel White WR Tennessee
PICK: 214 RND: 7 Gavin Sawchuk RB Oklahoma
Squirrel is just that. He’s 5’10 165 but runs a 4.27 and has a 40″ vertical.
RB Sawchuck is 5’10 200 and runs around a 4.3. Though a terrible blocker in pass pro.
Going to keep an eye on ILB Perkins and OT Monheim in the USC/LSU game next Sunday.
Also, new LSU WR transfer CJ Daniels. He could be a day 3 steal.
Albert Breer Breaks Down the Dynamic That Led to Tua’s Brian Flores Rant
Posted by Mike Oliva | Aug 25, 2024 | Dolphins News | 0
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer tells Rich Eisen what led to Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa calling out former head coach Brian Flores.
Perkins would be an ultimate ILB chess piece. LSU lines him up everywhere, ILB, OLB, Edge and even out wide in coverage. He’s on the lighter side at 6’1 225. In his first 2 seasons he has 26 TFL, 13 sacks, 6 FF, 8 PD’s and 2 INT’s.
Outstanding player! Just wish he was 2 or 3″ taller and about 25 pounds heavier, as my “Search for the next Brian Urlacher” continues…
Those guys don’t seem to exist anymore. Any size and they are put on the edge.
I wish he was bigger also. Though, if he was, he would not fall this far to us.
He runs a nice 4.45 though.
These are the boxes I want to be checked off…
– 6’3″ or taller
– 240 pounds or more
– 4.55 40-time or faster with agility
– ability to cover TEs and play the ball in the air
– ability to destroy the running game
I know, I know… I’m not asking for much… just for a future HOFer… 😆

Truth!
I realize Skyler would have probably looked much better if he was playing with our 1st-team Offense in the PS, but still. IF Tua were to miss any length of time, I’m not sure our season would be safe with Skyler at the reigns. JMO
By the way, Alain Poupart believes there is the possibility we bring Mike White back onto the P/S under a new contract.
Personally, I think we can do better than both Skyler and White… just sayin’…
And no, the answer isn’t just Tanny, though he’s leaps and bounds better than Skyler and White.
I can see that in bringing White back on PS. I thought that would happen to whoever ended up as the #3.
you don’t just wake/walk off the street and play QB for MM, it’s a complicated O, for that reason White will be on the PS
wake up
The Lake Mary team playing in LLWS is from right near us. They’re down 1-0 at the moment top 3rd
What network?
between us, west of me
I drove across the state in 2022 from Tampa to Melbourne, thought it was on that route, must’ve been something else I saw
I see it’s in your backyard
it’s north of that route Steve. It’s next to Sanford in Seminole County
it’s on local ABC here but I’m pretty sure ESPN has it
after 2 minutes I remember why I don’t watch those games, the strike calls are so bad it’s unwatchable
then you have the age cheating and recruiting the foreign teams do
M, the next best ILB per draftbuzz is Danny Stutsman from Oklahoma. He covers 3/5 of your criteria. lol
He’s 6’4 241 and runs a projected 4.62. Projected 2nd rounder. He doesn’t look like a special talent to me, but he is one of those very consistent, instinctive, lunch pale guys.
He’s decent in zone coverage but not so in man.
3/5 of my criteria = 6/10.
7/10 is just barely passing, LOL
Hmm… perhaps he’s someone to keep an eye on, though.
Shit, just hit play on his highlights. YES… he looks to be VERY GOOD, indeed!
Patient, instinctive, attacks hard, has hands in coverage, and he seems to have a nose for the ball… granted these are HIGHLIGHTS. I’ll be looking for him on Saturday’s, BB Mike!
Thanks for sharing!
The Miami Dolphins announced they have released tight end Jody Fortson Jr. and quarterback Mike White. The team also placed wide receiver Anthony Schwartz on injured reserve.
Thanks Tim🤪
Skyler #2 going into the season. (So far)
As far as ILB, keep an eye on the two I mentioned and:
Barrett Carter, Clemson
Jaishawn Barham, Michigan
Jay Higgins, Iowa
Lander Barton, Utah
Jamon Dumas-Johnson, Kentucky
Be here now….lol
Seems we have better acorns this year…maybe we opt for youth in the cutdowns
We have talent in the most skilled positions…let’s round it out with promising talented youth…
We’ve bolstered TE, RB, S, ILB, Edge….OL sucks…lol
PP…AJ……need interior…maybe next year…lol

Patriots and Commanders still play tonight, but here’s the total preseason pass attempts for each starting QB: Minshew 33 Nix 30 C. Williams 20 Richardson 18 Mahomes 18 Purdy 18 D. Jones 18 Carr 15 Stroud 14 Lawrence 14 Levis 13 Wilson 12 Young 8 Darnold 8 Burrow 7 Tagovailoa 5 G. Smith 5 Allen 3 Mayfield 3 Love 2
Mahomes play count seems over the top…lol. Seriously, he needs the work?
Yeah, maybe trying to get timing down with new speedy WR Xavier Worthy. Like 50% of Mahomes targets this preseason were to him.
Again…lol. High play count of someone of his caliber…imo
…for someone..
the stat was passes, but yeah I agree he shouldn’t be out there exposed, if he needs more reps with Worthy use practice reps
No interesting cuts yet across the NFL. That will be more tomorrow and Tuesday. Teams just trimming fat right now.
Mike White is the biggest cut so far across the NFL.
Stand corrected…but you got my point…how many plays did Tua play? 18?
And didn’t..lol
Cheats Maye looks good against Skins backups
Last year Ramsey was hurt in TC, this year no such significant injury, we should be happy with that, amidst the injuries to backups
play ball
Maybe, starting wounded, surviving/winning sets us up for with our best at the end of the season…maybe. lol.
I’ve been referring to that for a while, with guys like Chubb, OBJ, Brewer and Phillips hurt we just need to survive the early season
I’m not saying start out 5-3, I’m saying barely winning each week will be OK
I’m thinking 7-1
Yes, you have and I’m beginning to imagine it, as well…lol
Jeff Driskel Jack Driscoll, just to give guys something to think about😜
Who will be the first to call Driscoll, Driskel?
It also seems we have a lot of biting pups this year…I say, start a kennel….lol
Meaning….veteran v biting pup with similar skills (or close matching talent), go with the 🐶 with upside. Higher risk, but higher reward, imo.

McDaniel says he looks at the roster like a 69-man roster. Says over the course of a player’s career, there’s a 100% injury rate. Every player will get hurt at some point or another, that the depth is paramount.
@Marcel_LJ
McDaniel noncommittal on Dolphins C Aaron Brewer’s timeline. Said he’s happy with where they’re at and there’s been no setbacks — he hasn’t practiced since Aug. 7 with an undisclosed injury

Man, Raheem Mostert told us Lavonte David came up to him after Bucs practice and told him how hard the jet motions Miami uses gave him challenges when he studied it.
David is one of the smartest defenders in the NFL, this era’s Zach Thomas.
This news is so last week😜

Raheem Mostert says the Dolphins offense can set a tone with smash mouth rushing attack this season

“We have playmakers all across the board but to set the tone it’s the run game,” Raheem Mostert said. “We want to play smash mouth football.”

JuJu Smith-Schuster signing with Chiefs – again
Perhaps the first prominent player to hit the unemployment line earlier in August, Smith-Schuster, now heading into his eighth NFL season, has already resurfaced in what appears like a crowded Kansas City Chiefs wideout room. Why are the two-time defending champions bringing back an apparently declining player – Smith-Schuster caught 29 passes for New England in 2023 – after letting him go following the 2022 season?
Prolly let him go, because of the cap
Chiefs have some issues at the top of their WR room
if memory serves Hollywood Brown got hurt and the other guy has some legal issues
I think Ryder has something on Tindall. I said the exact same thing about Hassan Reddick and wanted us to trade for him from Arizona during the 2020 offseason. Every time he was a F/A, I wanted us to sign him. He was a sack machine in college but AZ drafted him and put him at ILB his first 3 years where he was “meh” and had 7.5 sacks and 3 FF in his first 3 years. AZ new HC decided not to get rid of him and moved him to OLB/Edge. The last 4 years Reddick has 50.5 sacks, double digit sacks every year, with 14 FF.
Keep Tindall on PS and start the switch to OLB/Edge during this season.
We know he’s a little slow, late bloomer, doesn’t pick things up quickly kind of player, for those reasons it’s worth a shot moving him to the outside, but he’d get poached from the PS
not exactly a ringing endorsement for your OL

The #Cowboys and All-Pro WR CeeDee Lamb agreed on a massive 4-year extension worth $136M, per me and @TomPelissero
. Lamb gets $100M guaranteed and a WR-record $38M signing bonus in a deal done by Tory Dandy of CAA. He’s the 2nd highest paid non-QB in NFL history.
Good thing we got ‘Reek extended when we did.
and Waddle
Yessir, AND Waddle is correct!!!
So what am I looking for from other teams’ cutdowns to a final-53? IOL, DT, QB, and ILB. Mind you, these players would be added to our practice squad only, not to OUR final-53, unless warranted (which I extremely highly doubt).
IF we want to upgrade from Skyler Thompson (not a bad idea, IMO), expect us to sign a vet FA very soon. If not, expect us to sign a youngster who gets the ball out quickly: the Mike McDaniel Offense is predicated on getting the ball out quickly and with accuracy.
FWIW, I do NOT see us signing Tannehill in the here and now. JMO, but who knows, right?
Reason? Tanny does not possess the traits of a McDaniel-style QB.
Counter-reason? We could do a lot worse than Tanny if push comes to shove. It may be wise to get him before the FA QB market runs dry.
Temptation: trade for the loser of the starting QB competition with the Stealers*. Don’t care if it is Russ or Fields.
I don’t believe the Stealers* would take anything less than a day 2 pick, however. Buyer beware.
Day 2 pickS (note the plural). That, and a new contract would have to be negociated whether it be Russ or Fields.
I’d take Zappe or Milton from NE, you’d think they have to cut one
My Brother, may it be Joe Milton! That cat has so much upside it’s unreal.
Only thing with Milton, though? I don’t think he’s a Mike McDaniel-style QB. I think he’s built to be a gun-slinger behind a vaunted O-Line.
I would think Tannehill is going to wait things out and see if a QB or two or three goes down and his phone rings off the hook. I don’t think he wants to be a backup
I agree with this… unless he gets a deal he can’t refu$e a$ a backup QB.
FWIW, I don’t want to be the team that pays Tanny that kind of $$$ to be a backup.
Just sayin’, and as Case Keenum’s unofficial agent…
Keep your eyes on him. If the Texans cut him, he’d be a legit backup QB. 😀
He knows the WCO like the back of his hand under HC Gary Kubiak. He came from the spread Offense at college (Houston). We could do a lot worse than Keenum, seriously.
Heck, even if Keenum doesn’t get cut, I’d be willing to send a late-round pick to the Texans to acquire him.
he’s listed on their depth chart as QB3 and
1 day agoKeenum headed to locker room during Saturday’s preseason game with what appeared to be an arm issue, Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston reports.
Inot sure if mentioned or not .. NFLPA voted down emergency qb rule. Must be on 53 again
Are you sure that’s for 2024? I thought it was a done deal for this season
I thought it was too just read an hour ago the NFLPA voted against it today
Phillips ready to go week 1
NFL teams will not have any more flexibility for an emergency quarterback on game days in 2024. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that the NFLPA had vetoed a rule that would have allowed teams to have an emergency 3rd quarterback on game days in 2024.4
