Apparently (according to an acquaintance) a season ticket holder got no nibbles when he offered to sell his remaining tickets for the rest of the Dolphins home games at 50% of face value!!!
I am now on the dark side of this team. 50 fricken years. One before I die is all I wanted. Yeah, right. Groundhog Day is what it is. I am now at peace with that.
ALL YOU DRAFTNICKS who try to predict the first player drafted in the 2025 draft should sharpen your pencils and tell us WHO the Dolphins SHOULD TAKE!!
While you’re at it, pick at least 2 or 3 Offensive Linemen we should take in the early and middle rounds as well.
ALSO, will we be able to fit all of these draft picks under our beleaguered salary cap for next season??
I hope Tua is ok. I didn’t before the season and still don’t want to see him at QB anymore.
Grier needs to be fired. Manhandled as usual everywhere on the field. This team is yet again another rebuild away. There’s nothing positive about any of this. Yes it’s only one game in week 2, but its embarrassing. Does anyone see a way this team can compete? I don’t know if my 8-9 prediction is even going to be close. Lol
I completely agree and it was pretty obvious even before the injury. We are built to beat bad teams with less talent. Even healthy, this team can’t beat the top teams. We aren’t built to beat the Bills so we are never winning the division or getting a bye in playoffs which is a huge boon. We aren’t built to beat the Chiefs or the physical Ravens. That leaves us to just continue to hope to eventually win a playoff game while other teams hope for the superbowl. We deserve better.
yep. I wasn’t on much on the offseason, but I was definitely in that club. We lost more talent than we gained.
I was also in the “Let’s wait and see what Tua has” before forking over $200 million plus”. This team was built like a house of cards, and we are watching it fall.
even if Tua has a mild concussion (I don’t think it’s mild), he’s always going to be one play away from a career ender. What frustrates me the most is he didn’t have to take that hit- he initiated the contact trying to be someone he isn’t. He could have easily dived in front of the defender- he had the first down.
We are fucked for the rest of the decade. They have more dead cap out in years to come than we can account for and THIS last night is what they blew their wad on!!
GRIEF NEEDS TO BE FIRED TODAY!! I am quitting this team. NFL in general. I’m tired of “entertainment” making me sick and angry. Fuck this team and the NFL.
See you guys around, but I’m not spending the time I have in the past on this garbage anymore!
I come here for the community so I’ll continue to occasionally see how people are doing. While at it, I’ll always check what’s going on but I have no faith in this team, its leaders or owner. Look at the Lions. We could have had that.
Was thinking that this morning. White helped the Bills shut down Tyreek and Waddle. I am sure of it. Poyer didn’t help much at all including on the field. Neal too for that matter.
Well, fuckety, fuck, fuck, fuck is all I can come up with this morning. I didn’t even want to get out of bed but my dogs weren’t going to let that happen. lol
The other side of this equation gets a little tougher. If Tua is able to pass a physical next March, the Dolphins will have the ability to release him, with “only” his $50M of 2025 compensation on the hook. Tua’s 2026 compensation ($54M) becomes fully guaranteed on March 14th.
A Post 6/1 release prior to this means $83.6M of dead cap across 2025/2026.
So Tua and the Dolphins will have to make a decision prior to March 14, 2025. If he retires, the dolphins will have to designate him a post 6/1 release. Won’t help much but it will clear 1 million in 2025 cap and 11 million in 2026 cap.
Tua has an injury guarantee where 54 million of his 56.4 million cap in 2026 becomes fully guaranteed if still on the roster on March 14, 2025. (Some of that 54 million is already guaranteed in his signing bonus and option bonus).
That will tack on another 39 million to the 83,646,000 million in actual guaranteed money the dolphins already have to pay Tua if he is not released prior to the 14th.
“His new contract carries more than $167 million in injury guarantees. He’ll give up that money if he chooses to walk away. Nearly all of his $42 million signing bonus could also be forfeited, if he affirmatively decides to retire now.”
I don’t understand why he didn’t slide there was no reason to go head first he had the first down already. We get it 24-17 and it’s whole new game. Skylar can’t be an option going forward we have to get someone with more experience. As bad as it looked it’s only week 2. The three picks made it look even worse.
He could have actually slid and gone head first and still been OK. I think honestly he was trying to be something he’s not, which is a tough guy, to maybe try to energize the team by running a defensive back over. It didn’t work out well for him.
Where this messes things up is Armstead is going to retire after this year. We would need to make him a post 6/1 release. If not, he will have an 18.5 million dead cap hit and clear only 3.5 million in 2025, BUT it would clear all of his 22.1 million cap hit in 2026. If they do make him a post 6/1 release then they clear 14.3 million in 2025 cap and clear 11.4 in 2026 cap.
Then there is Bradley Chubb. He has basically a 30 million cap hit over the next 3 years. That’s ridiculous. Chubb only has 27.3 million in actual guaranteed money left. A pre 6/1 release/trade will have the 27.3 million dead cap hit and clear 1.9 million in 2025. A post 6/1 release/trade will clear 20.3 million in cap in 2025 and clear 11.1 mil in 2026.
The dilemma is we can only designate 2 players as post 6/1 releases.
BTW, if no one is keeping track, we are no longer in the red on our 2025 cap space. OTC says 4.2 million and Spotrac says 3.1 in 2025 cap.
Say Spotrac is correct on the Tua situation if he retires. If designated as a post 6/1 release along with Chubb, then a pre 6/1 release on Armstead, that would clear a total around 24.8 million in cap and put our 2025 cap at around 27.9 million.
Much better than a month or two ago. Though, a lot of that is due to dead money pushed down the road.
I sense a Zak Wilson trade!! Ugh however I’m willing to root for Skylar, can’t believe I said that! He did pretty good in that playoff loss to the Bills . On the bright side, tickets will be cheaper
Problem with the draft is it would be hard to draft 2-3 OL in the first 4 rounds where we will have 4-5 picks depending on comp picks.
Reason being is with all the 1 year contracts, we have needs everywhere except CB, RB and TE next year.
Can’t really expect to have a rookie come in and perform on the OL at a high level as much as you could a rookie on the DL.
Holland is still a FA next year along with all our other safeties. Only safety on the 2025 roster right now is McMorris. Next draft is stacked at safety, you have to take one in the 1st or 2nd at the latest. Need to draft a QB. Jaxson dart will be gone by 2nd round. So need to go Safety then QB picks 1 and 2.
At ILB, Long, Walker and Riley are all free agents. Our DL other than Seiler and Pili are all free agents.
Captain!!! Glad to see you on my friend! I really hope we don’t make a trade, we need all our draft picks as we may be drafting a QB next season, and basically our entire team will be free agents. I wouldn’t want to be Chris Grier right about now
ROSS’S Front Office decided years ago that drafting quality offensive linemen, for the most part, is NOT what they wanted to do with early round draft picks. The result? – – Well year in and year out the Fins O-Line remains one of the least effective in the NFL. And, as Tua can tell you, the Fins O-Line offers insufficient protection for whoever is playing quarterback.
Prediction: THE Fins FO will NOT draft an O-Linemen in the first 3 rounds of the 2025 college draft. Which means, of course, that our starting QB’s WILL STILL BE RUNNING FOR THEIR LIVES NEXT SEASON, TOO!! – – Some people NEVER learn!!
I like the signing. It brings in a guy with good athleticism and some experience without giving up any draft compensation. He is a different style QB than what our offense is built for but I am guessing Achane and Mostert will become even more effective
I bet they trade for Jimmy G

Ugh in so many ways that is all.😔

hopefully not- we are going to need a quarterback!

Yep. When your QB in the dude always making stupid plays, how can you win? Two offseason of training not to do that kind of stupid shit.

I seriously have to quit on this team. They have broken my heart for 50 years. I am done.
YUP!! Me too!
I come here for the community so I’ll continue to occasionally see how people are doing. While at it, I’ll always check what’s going on but I have no faith in this team, its leaders or owner. Look at the Lions. We could have had that.
well that was shit!!! Also looks like Mike White gave the Bills are whole play book. SMH
Was thinking that this morning. White helped the Bills shut down Tyreek and Waddle. I am sure of it. Poyer didn’t help much at all including on the field. Neal too for that matter.
We were out coached and out game planned again.

This includes if Tua retires.
Just came on to see the aftermath and no comment was unpredictable. lol
Well our Defense is yet to give up a second half score this year 🤷♂️
Thanks for the bright side. lol

There’s going to be too much pressure on him and the team, I’m afraid we’ve see the last of Tua.
“His new contract carries more than $167 million in injury guarantees. He’ll give up that money if he chooses to walk away. Nearly all of his $42 million signing bonus could also be forfeited, if he affirmatively decides to retire now.”

Phelon, where was that from? Spotrac seems to be saying something else.

I will always be a fan, perhaps not a happy one…lol.
Tua needs to walk away from the game once he clears his head…so sad.

Yes, I 100% believe it has been Grier’s plan to move on from Chubb for cap reasons next year. That is why they drafted Chop and Kamara.

LOL….oh my!
Look at the ton of money spent….but wouldn’t spend it on the best G and DL this team has seen in years. They deserve to suck.
Flores was right.
I was the most pessimistic I have ever been heading into this season. I hate realizing the truth for once. This sucks
I sense a Zak Wilson trade!! Ugh however I’m willing to root for Skylar, can’t believe I said that! He did pretty good in that playoff loss to the Bills . On the bright side, tickets will be cheaper
That or Jimmy G who is familiar with the system from being in SF.
I would hate to give up draft capital for that. Just sign Tannehill.
At least we have Tim Boyle to backup Skylar. Oh lord!
NEW BLOG UP!!!!

I definitely don’t want that to happen. Just seems par for the course with this management
Can’t argue that
It really sucks feeling like the season is not going to be a good one now. 😔

Welcome Back Capt. Stubbs!!
nEXT GAME AT Seattle could get ugly!
I like the signing. It brings in a guy with good athleticism and some experience without giving up any draft compensation. He is a different style QB than what our offense is built for but I am guessing Achane and Mostert will become even more effective
