With the 13th Pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select . . .

DT Kenneth Grant 6’4 331 – Michigan

Well, all I have to say is I’m quite relieved. I really expected the Dolphins (Chris Grier) to reach for an oft injured CB (Will Johnson, also from Michigan) or a nickel back CB Jahdae Barron. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised after all the OT’s were off the board (Campbell, Membou and Banks), that the Dolphins selected a DT who can start immediately. Grant is a big boy, but he needs to increase his strength and hit the weights. It wouldn’t hurt to shed a few pounds either and be a little quicker and more explosive. He can play DT/DE for Miami opposite Sieler, and he can play some NT as well, although with Benito Jones already here, I think it would serve the Dolphins better to have Grant at DE and Jones at NT.

I don’t have an awful lot to say, it’s one pick, and a pick necessitated by letting Wilkins walk last season. That being said, Grant is a guy who has not found his ceiling yet, and hopefully in Anthony Weaver’s scheme, Grant will flourish quickly and for many years down the line for us, with or without Weaver. No question a pick that satisfies a huge need, we still have a whole lot more work to do. I’m hoping we get an interior OL next, to me that’s the next need. We can take care of CB and S later, first get the big boys. Lots of big boys off the board already as I mentioned, the trio of OT’s Campbell, Membou and Banks are gone as well as OT Grey Zabel, OG’s Tyler Booker and Donovan Jackson also are gone. That leaves OG’s Tate Ratledge, Marcus Mbow, Wyatt Milum and Jonah Saviineah are 2nd RD possibilities, as well as 2 OT’s not yet picked as of this writing, OT Josh Conerly and Josh Simmons. I hope the Dolphins stay on track with the trenches, it’s like building a house, you need a strong foundation.

See you all later tomorrow, I have plans and won’t be around most of the day, I’ll try to catch up before the evening!

Steve – I think we needed more than that. We still need a starting CB, possibly safety too

  4. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

MY threshold for our OGs — being we have a 295-pound Center soaking wet — was 320 pounds. We nailed it with James Daniels via FA.

Grier didn’t fail in that department.

  5. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

we really don’t need 10 picks

the late picks are good for Practice Squad, and maybe 1 keeper

  6. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I think it’s safe to say that Jonah is going to be our new starting RG, and James Daniels will be our new starting LG.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I think that looks GRAND on paper!

Still don’t believe we needed to trade up for Jonah. Captain Ahab was chasing a whale…

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

        I agree, but we gave up a late, late 3rd and a late, late 4th (135) and got a 5th (143)

basically gave up 98 plus a little more no big deal

  7. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

    it’s Shough time

  8. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

    This guy likes him

  9. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Well despite the cost , we have addressed both trenches 🤷‍♂️

  11. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Mason Taylor to the stej??? YUCK!

  12. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

    Sacrilege

    🤮🤮🤮🤮

    jets take Jason Taylor’s son

  14. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The trade was fine, remember teams target players they like, not salivating over mid round picks.

  15. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I don’t see any OL going after we picked, nice trade Grief

  16. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

those 4th and 5th rounders are nice spots to fill out OL and DL depth

  17. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

what I can say is how many times have we lost players we liked in the 2nd, usually to Ravens

  18. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

TJ Sanders to the Bills upsets me a little

  19. New Age's avatar New Age says:

Only Grier can make a terrible pick and a great one at the same time. Jonah’s a player with great potential and I like the player a lot. Giving up all that for him just looks like a terrible waste of picks. Unless we’re the new inheritor of the Booty Push trophy, you can’t just use your entire draft on two guys in the trench. The rest of the world sees holes throughout our roster, Grier sees opportunity. I hope he’s right for once.

  20. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Rock – almost, except Tua has a $212M contract, we extended Hill and Ramsey’s contracts and paid them more. We no longer have Armstead, but on the positive side, we have Jonnu Smith and on the negative, Hill is an asshole and Ramsey is unhappy and is still here despite the richer contract

  21. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    so is it

    LT – Paul

    LG – Saviinaea

    c – Brewer

    RG – Daniels

    RT – Jackson

    for next season

I will never be able to spell his name

  22. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    DAMMIT!!!

See?!! We COULD have had Jonah @ R2P48!!! 😡

  23. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Good thing we traded up huh guys? That run on offensive line after we picked as brutal…..oh wait NOT ONE ONLINEMAN TAKEN!? you don’t say

  24. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Grief must be afraid of his own shadow, there were several OGs still on the board

someone must’ve deaked him into the trade

  25. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I have to hope players like

Winston, Mbow, Milum, Mukuba, Norman-Lott, Ty Robinson, Josh Farmer

    last to the 4th round

maybe we should spread rumors that they are all illegitimate sons of Dion Sanders?

  26. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I’m ready to start kicking my cat at this point.

    HOLY SVUCKS!!! 😡

  27. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

the floor is relatively high, the ceiling is relatively low

Hopefully the whole will be greater, than the sum of its parts

  28. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

just saw that Grier traded up- of course he did. Fucking asshole.

  29. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Rockphin

     says:

    April 25, 2025 at 8:21 pm

could have had Grant at 20 regardless of the text messages….

    ———

Could have traded down to the Cards @ R1P16, picked up their 3rd rounder, and nabbed Walter Nolen. 😡

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Good thing we didn’t do that, or Grief would have included that Cardinals 3rd rounder to trade up for Jonah. 😡

  30. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

    Yay JS3

  31. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

the guy is just reckless with picks.

  32. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

    Nogtih all

  33. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I like the players we got

I don’t care too much about where we could have had them

giving up that 3rd though makes me squeal a little

  34. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

He fucking traded up for Liam Eichenberg too if you all recall

  35. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Mel Kiper has Yayha Black rated really high

  36. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Grief is going to trade the 1st pick in the 2026 draft for Trey Amos

  37. New Age's avatar New Age says:

    Brian

What’s worse is how terrible he is after the 3rd round. We’ve had two starter quality players below the 3rd round since he’s been here. AVG and Jason Sanders. I don’t mind him wasting picks after the 4th but that’s not what he does. He wastes the cream of our drafts to basically pick undrafted dudes early. This draft is basically over, and we still need CBs and safeties,

  38. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

we can probably trade into the 3rd with a 4th or 5th but I’m not sure it’s worth it

might be better just to have 4 players between 114 and 155

  39. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Grier blows chunk! 🤮

  40. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    @flasportsbuzz

Dolphins will hold cornerback tryouts outside the Miami Gardens Sonic at 2 a.m. tonight

  41. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

I love the Jonah pick. That’s the guy I wanted.

    82 inch wingspan. He ran a sub 5 40 at 324lbs!

and his college ran a zone scheme.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

But as the Draft has revealed, Jonah would have been availed to us @ R2P48. We didn’t need to trade up for him.

  42. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Fun fact: no G’s picked after us yet.

So JS is THAT much better than the other G’s left on the board, or Grier fucked up yet again . (Spoiler alert, it’s the latter)

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

of course he fucked up. Like I said, he traded up in the 2nd to get Liam Eichenberg. He has no fucking discipline!

  43. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

    LT Paul
    LG Daniels
    C Brewer
    RG SavaIInaea
    RT Jackson

Very different OL than what we’ve seen. Hopefully they stay healthy.

  44. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Shedeur to the Raidaz @ R2P58?

  45. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

not only our the lineman we drafted big, they can both move

  46. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Can’t believe Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall, has fallen this far!!!

  47. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

aside from those guys I mentioned above, I really think TE Jackson Hawes (possibly in the 5th round) can be a nice addition

    really good blocking TE

  48. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

OH WOW! And the Raidaz pass on Sheduer as well!

  49. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

    Jonah “Bundale Savaii” naea

  50. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    @flasportsbuzz

Kidding OBVIOUSLY. Grier said he wasn’t worried about corner with regard to 3rd round pick. They have conviction on this player. Grier said he’s a starter and he will play guard and he will explore trading into 3rd round.

  51. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Mets just keep plugging!

  52. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

RAVENS get Mike Green! C’MON! How does this happen?

  53. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Ravens always seem to make great picks, Marshal’s Green

  54. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Grier has no patience or discipline. It’s a real issue. He falls in love with a guy and blows his draft on him. He’s gotta go

  55. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

fans at the draft are so retarded

  56. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Trey Amos to the Redskins.

  57. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Yeah… I think it’s time to relieve Grief of his duties as GM.

  58. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

both Xavier Watts and Andrew Mukuba are still on the board

correct me if I’m wrong but we only saw 1 safety going the first and 1 in the second

    is that right?

  59. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Norman-Lott is gone

  60. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

It’s one thing if you’re putting a cherry on top of your sundae. Our roster still has so many holes, and those don’t yet include Ramsey and possibly Hill too

  61. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

And there goes my man Andrew Mukuba to the Eagles.

  62. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Does Shedeur go to the Brownies @ R3P67, or the Raidaz @ R3P68? Or does he fall even farther?!!

  63. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Mukuba gone now

  64. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Well shit. I liked both those picks by the jills and yets.

  65. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

If Grier gets 2 players that will actually play well even if he had to use all of our picks, that’s a win for him.

  66. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

And the Broncos’ selection has been over 10 minutes ago. And still we wait… SMH

  67. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Crabbs loves the trade and Savaiinaea

after watching him he’s not on the same level as the other available OGs

projected to play RG for us

O is probably set, at least the starters and main players

D is probably set with starters too, unless FA is nice to us

is our short yardage O any better? Should be

that was our biggest weakness last year, unless you say pass pro, that got better too Eichenberg and Jones are out and out

  68. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

This thing about Brewer only being 289 or whatever, Dwight Stephenson played at 255 when DL were 270-300. Sometimes it’s about technique, not size. 😂

  69. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Savaiinaea has really violent hands, defenders seem to fall forward to the ground a lot

his short choppy steps keep his body balanced, reminds me of Belushi in Animal House, when he runs out of the frat after they got kicked out of school

  70. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Are we better off with Savaiinaea, Daniels and Paul or Armstead, Eichenberg and Jones?

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

It doesn’t really matter anymore, we have a very different makeup on the OL now. We shall see.

I think we want to run often in 2025.

  71. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Might see Sanders go in one of these next two picks by the raiders

  72. sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

Can Ross even be trusted to pick a good GM if Grier is gone?

  73. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

As long as the first two guys we picked both start and play better than the likes of Eich, I’m ok with the trade.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I mean, is it even possible for someone to be as bad as Eich?

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Let’s not be too harsh on Eich. Some players take time to develop. Give him another 4 or 5 years, and Eich might be a quality 2nd tier backup.

  74. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Ryder has an all 22 out on Grant, the first several highlights shows the QBs scared shirtless, then get happy feet😜

  75. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Eichenberg is a versatile backup that didn’t pan out as a 2nd round pick. It happens. Not just to us but that’s who we focus on.

  76. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Our DC is a former DL as a player and coach at the same position. I think he gets Grant on the right track.

  77. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    NEW BLOG UP!!!! Read it!

  78. Ken's avatar Ken says:

My son is now trying to bet me that Shaddeur Sanders will kill himself. Dark-yes, is he wrong?
