Dolphins Defensive Front 7 Could Be Best Unit

A lot is going to have to go right, there are an awful lot of “ifs” involved here, but if things work out as we all hope they do, the defensive front might just be the best and most impactful unit on this team. Our first RD pick, DT Kenneth Grant will probably be starting at the LDE spot as a bookend to veteran RDE Zach Sieler. In the middle will be veteran NT Benito Jones, but there will be many different looks to the D-line, this will likely just be the base 3-4 formation. I would expect 5th RD pick DT Jordan Phillips to see a bunch of playing time and 7th RD pick DT Zeek Biggers to also be in the mix. DT’s Matthew Butler, Ben Stille, Matt Dickerson will also get chances as depth guys at the end spots, providing they make the 53 man roster. We will have a pretty young defensive line, with the exception of Sieler and Jones. We added a a few young big bodies to help fortify the D-line, but these guys have to show up and play, and the philosophy of not playing rookies will have to go out the window out of necessity here, as well as other places too, like the secondary. Grant, Phillips and at least one or two others will be counted on to make an impact this season.

This defensive line will have some size, but size alone doesn’t make a solid D-line. DC Anthony Weaver will have his guys working, and if he can get these young players to bite early, the size will matter. Last year we had veteran Calais Campbell at LDE and he is a huge man. Campbell is 6’8 308. We’re switching Campbell out for a much squatter but heavier defensive end in rookie 1st pick Kenneth Grant, who is 6’3 339. Sieler is 6’6 300, and NT Benito Jones is a stout 6’1 335. When we swap in some of the young guys, they’re also stout like DT Jordan Phillips 6’3 320 and Zeek Biggers 6’6 320. DE Matt Dickerson is on the light side at 6’6 298 and Matthew Butler is too at 6’3 290. but these guys will be on the end, not in the middle. Much like the situation in the secondary, we have almost no choice but to run with young players and hope they bite early.

Now on to the linebacker unit which could potentially be the best in some time. “Could be”, because we have one young player coming off a nice rookie year in 2024 1st RD pick OLB Chop Robinson. We can’t have a sophomore slump from Chop, we need him to be better than last season. We have 2 players returning from injury, OLB Bradley Chubb and returning from two consecutive season ending injuries, OLB Jaelan Phillips. It’s impossible not to admire Phillips who has great resolve and determination to come back from back to back devastating injuries, a torn achilles and then a torn ACL. He’s a warrior, and I think we all hope he can have an amazing successful season and stay healthy for a change. The football gods have been taking from Phillips, it sure would be nice for them to give for a change. If all these players, Chop Robinson, Bradley Chubb, and Jaelan Phillips play up to the best they can be, this can be one scary pass rush defense and maybe even one of the NFL’s best units.

The inside backers don’t wow you, but we have some excellent depth there, and the former Seattle Seahawks duo of Tyrel Dodson and Jordyn Brooks is a good one. Behind them we have Willie Gay and K.J. Britt. Definitely solid there, and all Tyrel Dodson did last year was make plays. Dodson had 3 INT’s last season, along with 7 passes defensed in just 8 games, and he started only 3. He was around the football, and that’s a good thing. to get back to the outside LB depth, it’s a little shaky. Mo Kamara didn’t really give any indication he’s a player, and Quinton Bell has been given opportunities but also hasn’t really shown progress. Add Grayson Murphy and Cam Goode to the unproven list. ILB Jordyn Brooks had 143 total tackles last season, 3 sacks, 6 passes defensed and 2 fumble recoveries. I like the middle guys, and once again feel very comfortable with the depth we have there.

So we know we have “ifs”, every team does, but sometimes special things happen and sometimes “if’s” actually do happen too. I’d love to see Jaelan Phillps and Bradley Chubb at the top of their game and able to stay healthy the whole season, along with some progress from our young OLB Chop Robinson, as well as a surprise player from the remaining depth guys that just shows up and takes off. If Kenneth Grant makes it look like we stole him at #13, and that we got an absolutely ridiculous steal with 5th RD pick DT Jordan Phillips, that would be great too. We need solid play all around, it can’t just be the D-line or LB’s, we need the entire front 7 to wreak havoc! To me, this is the easiest unit to root for and Ihope they reward us this season with something special!

Strange move as he is NOT a blocker and from what I hear he doesn’t like to either.

I guess his rap career did not work out for him.

He was tough when on the Raiders.

BBM – catching up on months of blog news – great that you got rid of your ‘alien’ a lot less traumatically than John Hurt did.

I also was taught the trick about wood for packing screw holes by dad, but the application was drilling through plasterboard (which i think you call drywall) into breezeblock (which i think you call cinderblock). No matter how small a hole you drill, one of the screws doesn’t bite. I was taught to use matchsticks with the head removed. They are as scarce as rocking horse droppings these days so I use a chisel to slice small strips of wood from offcuts and hammer those into the hole until the screw bites and can bear weight. 👍

So it’s going to be Darren Waller

looks like they want a Jonnu Smith type and not a blocking Tight End

  8. ukfinfan's avatar ukfinfan says:

Rock – I chuckled at the pics you posted a while back. All Brits are born wearing bowler hats. I used to live near Stockport and their footy team has the nickname the hatters. Back in the day, mercury was used in the process of making bowler and top hats. It is a poison to the nervous system among others and the derivation of a phrase nearly as rare as the hats themselves, namely, ‘mad as a hatter’. Only place you see hats now is Royal Ascot race meeting

  9. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Maybe, but we don’t know where Minkah’s head is at right now.

should be pretty easy to see if Waller is the real deal at training camp.

  11. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

    From a June 14, 2025 article:

“I knew I was retiring when we played in Buffalo,” Waller said during a recent appearance on “The Side You Don’t See” podcast. “It was a game where it was really controversial because one of the guys held me at the end, and they didn’t call it.

“It was in the first quarter of the game. We were running this counter lead running play, and I’m kind of like leading through the hole like I’m a fullback, and the play is working. But I sit down on the sideline after like a drive where we ran like three times, and I’m like, what the f— am I doing with my life? I’m out here playing fullback. I don’t even want to do this s— anymore.”

“I’m just looking at the moon — it’s early first quarter (or) second quarter — and nobody else would really even know I am thinking this, but I’m on the sideline like, ‘Yep. I’m going to finish this year to the best of my ability, but I am definitely done after this year.'”

    • herdfan's avatar herdfan says:

Well… sounds like just the type of player we want. One that doesn’t want to play anymore. 🤦🏼‍♀️

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

He could have quit on the Giants but he didn’t, kept going even though he didn’t want too.

If he is coming back, it is because he wants to. I think we will get everything from him. Let’s just hope it’s still in the tank.

Good to see ya again, UK! Yes, I thought “Andor” S2 was very, very well done… especially the last 3 episodes. Glad ya loved it! It’s probably the best DISNEY Star Wars they’ve done to date.

CAN’T WAIT for football season to begin, man!

  14. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Darren Waller, huh? That’s another big redzone target at 6’6″, but not much of a blocking TE. If he’s still got gas in the tank after retiring for the ’24 season, he could be a steal of a deal for a 6th rounder.

The realist in me, however? Not so sure it was the wisest of decisions considering he’ll be 33 in September and we could have used that 6th rounder to sweeten a deal to bring the much younger Michael Mayer to Miami.

    We’ll see what happens…

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Darren Waller: 69.9%

thanks, that’s what I wanted to know.If it was waller’s motivation to play for us or what

my guess would be. He saw what MM did for John knew last year, and he wanted some of that.

  24. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Randy, the reason I think we’re going to try and be more of a running team is because of who we brought in through FA and the draft. Bigger people on the OL, TE and WR, along with the RB room. That also helps Tua with less drop backs and Hill and Waddle might not have massive numbers but very good production per touch.

  25. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

Dolphins OC was Raiders TE coach when Waller was there.

  26. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

i don’t know how you can’t say we’re not in a better place after these trades. Ramsey wasn’t gonna play, we got yeah, minka, for sure. He’s the best in the back end Waller, replaces johnnu the only thing we didn’t. Yeah, it was a replacement for John who John uz. Yak.

    pardon the voice words

  27. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

i’d say, minka is a system fit for Weaver. Mink is not the greatest cover. Safety, but he’s really good in zone. I wonder if Weaver’s the one that wanted him.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

He’s a playmaker and can play in the box. 3 time all pro and 5 time pro bowler. He’s the best safety on the team. 8th season. Every team blitzes but I see a cover 2 defense concept for sure.

  28. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tim – seems like Minkah’s best days are behind him. If you believe otherwise, why were the Steelers willing to give him up? Certainly not because he’s a top safety that they want for a SB run, or he’d still be there.

  29. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I don’t really think it’s a good idea to pencil in a guy coming off retirement to be the starting TE

even before he retired, he was having problems with injuries

I like the trade bc it was cheap, but I think it’s. I stake to take that kind of risk a the position.

    we need neither TE IMO

oh yeah, a corner or 2 and some OL depth….lol

  30. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

yeah, maybe he was a shell of himself. But you put them in a new system that suits him maybe better. You don’t know what’s gonna happen seems to me. He was handpicked he fits perfect with weavers. D.

  32. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike, you’re living in the negative world that is everything Dolphins. We shall see. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  33. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    Mike E,

Minkah only played in 10 games in 2023 because of an injury, and last year he tied for the second most tackles of his career. His interceptions were way down, but that happens. I don’t think he’s nearly as bad as your buddy thinks he is. My best friend is also a Steelers fan, and he was bummed about losing him. Everyone here has been complaining about the safety rom, and we significantly upgraded it. Ramsey was gone either way; I’d rather have a high caliber player in return for him than a 3rd round pick next year, at best.

  34. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Bri – I’d rather have a 3rd RD pick and a better GM making those picks next season than get a guy back here who wanted out his first time he was here and is now on the decline. I feel like Grier can’t just realize we’re not competing for a SB this year, so take the L (You brought a malcontent here in Ramsey and he wanted out) and get what you can in draft compensation. As far as Jonnu, I would have kept him because he actually played well for us and I would have given him a pay bump. Now we bring in a guy at TE who quit the NFL and was last good 4 years ago, and is 33 years old. Yeah, I’m jumping up and down with excitement because Grier can’t ever take the L and do the right thing. I can’t root for Grier, MFFF or our new 33 year old TE who quit on the Giants.

  35. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Bri – Add in, Jonnu was legit my favorite player for us last season. Now we get back a player I fucking despise in MFFF who quit on us already and a TE who is probably making a money grab and probably won’t play the whole season if even half the season before he realizes he doesn’t really want to work like this.

  36. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Is Minkah a shell of himself or has the drop off in INT’s over the last 2 years is just because he moved from FS to SS 2 years ago? Coincidence?

He produced the second most tackles in his career last year. In 2023, prior to injury, he was on pace for 109 tackles which would have been the most in his career.

He has been named to the Pro Bowl the last 3 years in a row. Named best safety in the league 3 years ago when still playing FS.

  37. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Mike – The season didn’t start yet, so Jonnu held out of rookie mini camp. Real training camp didn’t start. We just gave up draft capital for a guy who was out of football, retired because he couldn’t hack it. Grier is always grasping at straws. Hopefully this one is the straw that broke the camel’s back so we can finally wave goodbye to that idiot

  38. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Mike – It was such a big difference between Jonnu and Minkah. Jonnu wanted to stay here, he said that. He just wanted a raise. Minkah asked to be traded. Ya think maybe you stretched that some?

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Waller is getting paid more than Jonnu! LMAO!!!

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

      Was trying. lol

Just think Minkah is not washed up and we should give him a chance. Hopefully he plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Waller, meh. I do think Jannu’s production would have fallen off a bit but think we will miss his beast mentality. We traded a beast of a receiving TE for a receiving TE who plays soft, MMesque.

  39. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

We don’t know the details of Waller’s incentive laden contract. Jannu’s cap hit for the Steelers this year is around 4m and 12m in 2026.

  40. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Mike – The other side of the equation is this for me. Dolphins pump up Julian Hill and Tanner Conner every season, and then for the last 2 seasons, they go out and bring in more TE’s. Grier talks about how he loves his young guys in the secondary, loves his new draft picks (Jason Marshall, Dante Trader) and last year’s safety Patrick McMorris. Why do you take Minkah rather than getting some valuable draft capital and how do you trade draft capital for a guy who will probably quit after training camp? Grier can never follow through, he’s always trying and always failing.

  41. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I’m not keen on Waller. He retired because his heart wasn’t in the game anymore, and he wasn’t a physical player to begin with. Is he really going to be the type of guy that helps with our supposed culture change? As a vet coming out of retirement, does he go out there and put in the extra time and competes his butt off?

Jonnu has never had a season that matches Waller’s best years, and even Waller’s last year with the Giants his production is about on par for most of Jonnu’s career. IDK, maybe he can give us an approximation of Jonnu, but call me skeptical on this one. I think it more likely he’ll ‘look great’ in camp, then when the games and hitting start he’ll disappear.

    • New Age's avatar New Age says:

Everything this year hinges on coaching, as it should. This team can put together a playoff caliber season with good coaching. I want that bullseye on McD because I think he’s massively overrated and want to see him prove me wrong.

That’s why I’m pretty happy with our latest signings. The DC is very solid, and I think giving him someone like MFFF will make our defense much better. It could be very good this year. Ramsey wasn’t going to play this year so getting that level of player back was very, very good. Jonnu wasn’t getting 10-12 here so he wouldn’t have put in the effort this year. Honestly, I don’t think he’s worth $10 much less $12. $8 with incentives which was double his previous salary. I’m still glad he got a fat paycheck for the great year he gave us. He was one of the few highlights last year.

Waller has that talent and could be amazing. I don’t think McD values TE enough, but I know Tua does. Tua could make Waller great this year. Everything depends on the OL once again. I think they should be solid, but will they play most of the year? If they do, I may feel more like Tim than any year in a decade.

  42. Ken's avatar Ken says:

The Waller move is a low risk/potential high reward move. However, it is a move you can’t count on until you see the production on the field

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

It’s just more desperation from our GM. I’d rather have the 6th RD pick, and I’d also rather have Jonnu for a few more million, but that’s me. I think Waller quits on this team during training camp, especially if they really work him, which they should

  43. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

the organization starts at the top with Ross. He’s the guy that’s created the rookie head coach for 3 years, and then a new one and a new 1 and a new 1. We need that. Hey, coach, that stays for 10 years. Maybe I don’t know if mm, is that guy, but I would leave him and greer there for ten years, and see what happens can’t be any worse than what we’ve been doing

  44. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

  45. boulderfinfan's avatar boulderfinfan says:

I bet Jonnu won;t be as good this year since he got paid. Players don’t play as well when they get paid. As for waller I thought he was really good at the raiders. And we have a young group both in secondary and TEs and having proven vets help that. I actually like both of those trades.

He’s not a Dolphins fan, he’s not a Dolphins hater either. He just gives his opinion on what they do. I very often agree. He felt exactly the same way I did about playing Tua on his 5th year. That would have been an excellent gamble for Grier. Instead he pays Tua stupid money for no reason. Teams don’t line up to pay a guy who plays QB and can’t stay on the field and don’t show up when it counts

What’s more, both are way more wrong than right when talking about football (any teams), PERIOD. So to me, it’s not solely about hating our Phins… it’s about being shock-jocks regarding the NFL in any way, shape, or form.

Sorry, but I don’t care for that type of nonsense or biased BS as though it was Howard Stern masquerading as an NFL reporter for clicks. NOR do I care for shills where everything is THE BEST EVER(!) for your favorite team! LOL, that’s just as weak!

And I honestly don’t mind personal opinion bleeding through from time to time… but TRY to be professional, Mike Florio and Chris Simms. The whole PFT (Pro Football Talk) team is littered with unprofessionalism from top to bottom.

I’m very proud of Evan Silva for having left that dumpster fire. If y’all remember, I went after Silva (AND Florio) HARDCORE back in ’12. Silva eventually blocked me on Twitter after I got “Silly Boy” trending in regard to him. He then unblocked me a couple of years later after he left PFT, and Silva and I are at peace today. He’s actually a decent guy, y’all. I feel as though Florio (who is the head of PFT) wanted Silva to be a shock jock under his employ.

That’s me story, mates… and me sticking to it. No sir, I don’t like Florio… but that’s just my opinion, as always.

Mike E, this has NOTHING to do with you, my guy! We can most respectfully agree to disagree about Florio.

I generally don’t care what national reporters have to say about any team, being they really don’t have the pulse that beat-writers have. Took me a while to figure that out over a decade ago.

  56. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I see Jaylen Ramsey has a salary cap cost to the Stealers* of a meager $5.3M this season… and $17.7M next season.

I’m sure Steve Ross is so proud to swallow all of that bonus and dead $$$ that Chris Grier doled out via his extension.

  57. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Then there’s this…

    @schadjoe

Jonnu Smith told Terron Armstead he had spoken with Jalen Ramsey, who felt it was time to move on, about Steelers possibility. Jonnu said he and Ramsey admire a culture Mike Tomlin has established.

He runs the team like a man, there’s a mutual respect. I don’t think McMuffin gets that same respect

  58. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

This is my impression of the Steelers-Dolphins trade. The Steelers feel like Minkah Fitzpatrick’s play has diminished, and probably expect that to continue. They’re making a 1 year run right now, operating under totally different rules than the norm. Steelers never trade for a WR, they’re always trading the ones they’ve developed and get good draft compensation for them. They traded for DK Metcalf. They probably realize that Jalen Ramsey is not the same player he was either, but he brings something special to a team, an aura. Other players respect him. He’ll probably play some CB and S, and if he helps them get far this year, they’ll worry about next year when it comes. Getting Jonnu gives their QB another dimension, with Freiermuth, Metcalf, Woods and Austin. They probably felt it was worth it to lose Minkah to get both Ramsey and Jonnu, and of course, they’re not cap strung like our team because they run it well, so they gave Jonnu a raise, which he deserves, and unfortunately, should have gotten here.

The Waller move is just some desperate Chris Grier shit.

  60. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

    my thoughts on the trade

    good trade for both teams

we had to part ways with Ramsey, getting close compensation back is a plus

losing Jonnu sucks, for this year only the trade might as well be Minkah for Jonnu, that was positive for 2025

Pittsburgh going for it like Rams did and we failed trying, difference is Steelers not shipping out 1sts only 2nd for Metcalf, Rodgers free thru FA

    Steelers attempt more responsible

  61. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Gonna be interesting to see how the cap figures for Minkah and Ramsey hit our cap

surely we’re pay zero for Ramsey’s

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

…2025 salary, since Minkah was included

Minkah’s current contract 72m 4 yrs was only a 36 guarantee, most likely all of it has been paid

I think his contract gets reworked before the season starts, which could be a mistake depending on his play, but will lower his 2025 cap figure

  62. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Jonnu – In his own words . . .

I’m in a situation where I am appreciated… You always want to be where you’re most valued and appreciated and that’s the situation that I find myself in with Pittsburgh,” said Smith.

He continued: “Obviously, you know, I didn’t foresee this happening with how the season went for me individually. Obviously, I had aspirations of ending my career with Miami with it basically being home for me and my children, my family, but I understand the business side of it and it didn’t work out. I’m grateful. I have no ill feelings towards Miami and nobody in the organization. I can’t sit here and lie and say that it didn’t sting when the process was playing itself out.

Smith revealed that the Dolphins told him they couldn’t afford to retain him and pay him what the player thought he was worth.

I felt like I was in a position and one of the key ingredients to helping this team succeed and after the season ended, me and my agent, we like ‘This a no-brainer. We’re gonna be here forever. Eventually it came a point and time when they told me they can’t do it.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

If he wanted to be here that much, play out your current contract.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Two sided coin. He played better than his contract, and everyone and their mother has been getting raises and extensions here. I think personally they picked the wrong guy to shut it down on, but that’s me

  63. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Steelers sign GM Omar Khan to a 3 year extension. We do that here for Grier I swear I won’t write another article about this team

  64. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

When I saw that the Stealers* gave Omar Khan a contract extension, the first thought that went through my head was the Minkah for Ramsey and Jonnu trade. I mean, it looks as though the Rooney’s LOVED that move, giving Khan an extension right off the heels of the trade, right?

    I have a bad feeling about this…

  65. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tim – I think that’s fair, unless they make the playoffs at 8-9 and back in or something.

What do the Rooney’s know, the Steelers haven’t had a losing record since 2003? 🙂

  67. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

It’s crazy, y’all. Up here in PA, one is generally either a Stealers* fan or an Eagles fan. I work with quite a many of both.

Know what my Stealers* peeps are sayin’? They’re sayin’ that Mike Tomlin sucks, he can’t motivate his players, and that Tomlin needs to go. That was before the recent trade with us, and even after the recent trade with us. WTF?!!

We could only be so lucky to have one of the most winning coaches in recent memory with Tomlin! Reminds me of our good times with Don Shula… we were spoiled then, and the Stealers* are spoiled now.

Our FO and its bloated, foolish power structure (set forth by Steve Ross) is reminiscent of bureaucratic Washington DC, IMO.

    What a $#!t show!

  68. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

My friend (Steelers fan) doesn’t love what they’ve been doing, including signing Rodgers and the trade for Ramsey, though he’s good with Jonnu. The Steelers have been making the playoffs but can’t get deep

  69. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I’m not too high, nor am I too low on our Phins this upcoming season. I’m naturally optimistic, but I’m also based in reality.

I’m none too happy with the ownership and the FO ever since Steve Ross took over… and it’s result based. We used to be the most winning franchise in all of team sports before Steve Ross took over… even after some rough patches with HWH as owner late in his tenure as owner.

    I WANT US TO WIN!!!

We’ll see what happens this season. If it doesn’t work out, Ross needs to sell, IMO. Actually, Ross should have never bought this franchise. We’ve been a cumulative loser ever since he became owner. He can throw all the $$$ he wants at this franchise, but it hasn’t worked.

If ya can’t get the right people to run your franchise (GM, HC, FO, etc), you’re only throwing bad money after good. #TRUTH

I was at work all day today when something entered my mind. Anthony Weaver — as a coach for the Ravens — got to see Minkah twice a year for the rival Stealers* for several years. He likely admired what he saw.

If I’m Anthony Weaver? Minkah, do you prefer playing FS or SS? You are the multiple All-Pro Safety. Choose what ya like, and we’ll design plays for ya.

IMO? Put Minkah back at FS. He fell off as a SS, relatively speaking… and I think Minkah would enjoy playing FS once again.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Minkah being in his 8th season and carrying more weight with Pittsburgh as a safety is best suited as a box safety. He has good instincts and can tackle. But he’ll also play quarters split field. It’s always about matchups.

  74. Randy's avatar Randy says:

I don’t get this trade. Minkah is going into his 9th year? This team should be focusing on 2027 and on. What good is this move for where this team will be in 2027, at best? I don’t care if we make the playoffs this season, really. I’m not gonna root for it, but a worse record gets you a better draft spot. This team is a mess. Minkah does nothing to build this team for the future.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

8th season. He’s the most experienced and best safety on the team. This team isn’t playing for down the road. They can’t.

  75. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Tim,

This team shouldn’t be acting like they’re winning now because they can’t. And that sort of shortsighted thought is what got us where we are.

  76. Randy's avatar Randy says:

And players playing to win now isn’t the same as management making moves for now and not the future. That’s their job to build a stable organization

BBM just had his 5yo granddaughter visit here for the first time. The last week was a blast with her. Everyone says how beautiful or smart their kids/grandkids are but this little girl melts BBM’s heart. Her mom (my daughter) is white and her dad is a combo of Bangladesh/Puerto Rican. She’s going to be a heart breaker. Smart is an understatement, and I think she got her brains from her grandfather (Bangladesh) on the other side, not BBM thank goodness. He’s a successful inventor/engineer.

She’s into dinosaurs. We were at dinner and she named off 42 different dinosaurs. Not just named them off but broke them down by carnivores, herbivores, and amphibians. I was blown away. lol
