2025 Season – Game 4 – MNF Jets @ Dolphins

Monday Night Football baby! The 0-3 New York Jets come to visit the 0-3 Miami Dolphins in the AFC East “Toilet Bowl”! Hope you can make it to witness the reveal of the brand new for 2025 NFL Rivalry Uniforms (Pictured Above). I get it, some people are excited about this game, it’s time to turn the season around, it’s Monday Night Football and all. This team has no place being on Monday Night Football, but I guess the NFL doesn’t read my articles before making the schedules. Whichever team loses this game really is in the toilet bowl because only 1 team since the NFL has been around has made the playoffs after beginning the season 0-4, and that was the 1992 San Diego Chargers. Would losing to the NY Jets in front of a national audience and at home wearing those snazzy NFL Mandated Rivalry Uniform be enough for sleepy Ross to finally do something about this situation with Chris Grier as GM and Mike McDaniel as HC? We may just find out, but as we are all painfully aware, you can’t count on Ross to EVER make the right move which would be cleaning house, OUT with Grier and McDaniel. You can just about bet he will go with a half measure instead and probably just fire HC Mike McDaniel which would once again leave Chris Grier in charge of the franchise and choosing our players in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Let’s get back to the game at hand. TE Darren Waller was limited in practice but he is scheduled to play Monday Night. Oh joy! Supposedly, he will be on a snap count, but rest assured, his impact will be felt! WR Jaylen Waddle was also limited in practice with a shoulder ailment. Our rookies haven’t looked good so far and that means #13 pick DT Kenneth Grant, and #37 Jonah (Two Picks) Savaiinaea haven’t really showed well as of yet. One draft pick who looks very ready to contribute is RB Ollie Gordon II who has a total of 12 carries in 3 games. That oughta really allow big Ollie to get in a rhythm, huh? Our offense is 25th, and our defense is dead last, 32nd. They must be doing something right then! The Jets seem to be ready to start injured QB Justin Fields if he’s ready but Tyrod Taylor will be the backup, and he’s sliced and diced our defense many times, He has a 98.8 Passer Rating with 1769 yards and 10 TD’s, 3 INT’s.

Things were looking a little better last week, until the end of course, when it matters. We moved the ball last week and it looked like we had a chance until Tua allowed the Bills to snatch the football and the victory from our team. Hall of Fame QB Kurt Warner insists it wasn’t Tua’s fault so that makes me feel so much better about the whole thing. See, I’d rather have a Hall of Fame QB playing for our team rather than having a retired Hall of Fame QB making excuses for our QB. Just saying! Even if we somehow come out on top, how do you gauge this win over another 0-3 team? The NY Jets are exactly mid pack on on offense at #16 (23 PPG) and close to our Dolphins on defense at #28 (31 PPG). You might think this could be a shootout since neither team seems interested in playing defense.

I don’t know if there’s a betting line on Darren Waller being done for the season after this game but I’d throw a few bucks on that one. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him laying down on the soft Miami grass field after getting hit and getting helped off the field either by a couple of players or a cart and ending his season with the Miami Dolphins. This has been a joke as soon as Grier actually gave up legitimate draft compensation for a player who retired and quit on his team (NY Giants). I mean who were we bidding against? If we told the Giants we’ll give you a bag of popcorn in 2029 for Waller would they have said no? He’s also been on the 53 man roster the entire season which kept someone else off, ridiculous!

Supposedly, rookie NT Jordan Phillips will be getting the start this week, we’ll see if that happens, and how he responds to his promotion. As so far, our rookies are not doing well, more fodder against “Grier the Great”. You want this guy picking players next year when we might have a top 10, maybe even top 5, maybe even top 3 pick? You know my answer! It also appears that Daniel Brunskill will be starting at RG over Kion Smith. and once again the RT spot will be Larry Borom. Brunskill was blamed wholeheartedly for the pressure on Tua during the choke INT that sealed our fate, but Larry Borom according to some played well.

If we’re going to win this game, let’s win it in style, let’s play a complete game and blow them out of Hard Rock. How about 31-0? I don’t need a 23-21 slopfest victory, but I suppose some will be happy and take that. I’m looking at the inevitability that this team will be cleansed, so wins and losses don’t matter much. I have no such delusions that this team will compete for a playoff spot, so I’m just waiting for that shoe to drop, if Ross is willing to do the right thing and try and better this team. We’ll see.

I love all the layers of sarcasm!!!!! I hate this team with a passion…..I hope we never win a game this season just so that Ross is forced to fire the worst GM in all of NFL and a joke of a HC. This team is am embarrassment from the players Grier chose to the culture McDaniel allowed. No one on this team is serious about putting in the work….we care more about the music playing during practices, creating TD celebrations in practice, etc than pushing themselves harder and harder to be the best in the league. I’m going to apply for te GM position and tell Ross, I’m building the team around Achane, Gordon, and Waddle. Everyone else is expendable on the offense and defense. We need an entire culture change, a hard-nosed HC that can get them ost out of the players, a GM that doesn’t reward players who have a history of missing games due to injuries, and trading major draft capital to either move up in the draft for an unproven player, or a cancer in and out of the locker room (I’m looking at you Hill). The football gods don’t care enough about us to make us the worst team in the NFL so naturally we will win 5-7 games, taking us out of a top 3 player, just missing the playoffs and rewarding Grier & MMD with another season in their positions. I’m so done…I never rooted against my teams in my life than I am now! Please for the love of all things, DO NOT WIN A GAME!!!!!

  9. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Jets are 0-3 after having the 5th easiest schedule while the Dolphins are 0-3 after facing the 9th hardest schedule so far this season.

Bills are 3-0 after facing the easiest schedule in the NFL so far.

So, if the Dolphins lose to the Jets, this has to be it. I was thinking around the bye, but if they lose this game, it has to be now.

  13. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

“The game of a franchise quarterback is never just still,” McDaniel said. “I think that all things throwing the football he’s capable of and there’s opportunities that he needs to take advantage of. There’s also a ton of opportunities to turn the ball over that he hasn’t taken. He’s really answered the bell for 99 percent of the time.”

Well Mike, he did take SOME of those opportunities to turn the ball over, didn’t he?

Let’s do some math for silly Mike M….

89 pass attempts 4 interceptions and 2 fumbles

6 divided by 89 is 6.7 that means he has taken “that opportunity” 6.7% of the time so it’s only 93.3% of the time he has answered the bell….

I think when you give the ball to the other team 7% of the time you touch the ball you should STFU about the criticism, take your lumps and DO BETTER.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Right the fuck on Rocko! Both of these guys need to shut the fuck up and do their talking on the field, MM with a good gameplan and Tua executing that plan, and not his team!

I can’t remember what the show was, but they were talking to Jessica Alba and some other gal. Evidently, they have a remodel show of some sort. They show a picture of the two gals in a promo shot for this show. The tool belts these gals had on looked like they came from Gucci. Ask her why she decided to go with a belt that barely held a hammer. Lol

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Because her belt only needs to hold a phone. The same as my ex-wife and cooking implements. She didn’t need pots or pans, only a phone for takeout. LOL

  17. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    MikeE,

I like to think of what you do as righteous, emotionally charged commentary. 👍

But, I believe you can do both! Unlike the Dolphins organization, I won’t accept mediocrity. Reach higher!

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

That’s what I keep saying. Why our fan base are willing to accept shitty play and not want better drives me crazy! Why keep defending, Grier. McDaniel and Tua when they can’t win for us? Aim higher and get it right. Realize you made mistakes and then move on from them.

“I haven’t played anywhere near the standard that I’ve played in years past, and knowing the standard that I can play to,” Tagovailoa told reporters. “It starts with me — with the offense, getting our guys going. And then the defense being able to feed off of that as well, right? I wouldn’t say that I’ve been playing my best football yet.”

I don’t disagree M, he very rarely leads his receiver to be in an advantageous position anymore

    ————

Absolutely correct, Mike E. There’s something physically wrong with Tua… and mentally (after so many concussions, IMO).

Tua has regressed so badly that he looks like Tannehill now, not throwing the receiver open for YAC.

  23. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

It won’t exactly be an onslaught of Waller reps against the Jets. There are certain packages in which Waller can be featured.

“It’s probably more situational,” McDaniel said Tuesday, “but I wouldn’t go to all these lengths, have all this buildup and then throw him out there for 60 or something (snaps). I kind of have an idea roughly what it is, but we’ll see if that idea plays through the practice week.”

He believes “it’s the perfect amount for him”….

“I trust the plan that the coaches and the performance staff have put together for me,” said Waller, adding moments in recent practices have left him encouraged, “and I believe it’s the perfect amount for me. It’s challenging but also something to where I can continue to build up as the season goes along.”

  24. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

He would “go to all these lengths, have all this buildup.”

WHAT FUCKING LENGTHS? WHAT BUILD UP?

Just fucking admit it! Grief fucked the pooch again, trading away draft capital for a RETIRED player who quit on his team who couldn’t get through ONE PRACTICE without injuring his hip, after taking 6 weeks to “get into football shape”

  25. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

  28. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

  29. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Rich, I get what you are saying about Hill. He has gotten better in the penalty department and made some good blocks in the Bills game.

  30. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Baylor QB Sawyer Robertson is another late round option to think about. He’s bigger than some I have posted at 6’4, 220. He’s got good mobility and a threat to run. He kind of has a windup throwing motion. My only knock is his ball location and lower completion %. He’s worth a 7th round pick or UDFA, IMO.

So this week Tua admitted to having residual ankle issues from previous surgeries, and told the media that he isn’t playing at the standard he is used to.

This is exactly why I didn’t want to draft Tua, and said so before the draft. Too many injuries and now they are talking a toll on a player who is only in his 6th year. Not even in his 30’s. …and I didn’t even mention the concussions.

    • New Age's avatar New Age says:

It’s always some excuse though, isn’t it? Dude never brought those up issues during his contract negotiations, which he legally should have. What is his standard anyway? Outside of playing with better talent than almost anyone else at Bama, when has he met top tier QB standards? I haven’t seen it yet. Beating up lesser teams his entire career is all I’ve seen. One half of a college champ game shouldn’t be ‘the standard’. for the rest of his life. Dude has never grown because he’s all about excuses.

Same here. He’s real smooth, concise, intelligent, enthusiastic, shows love for the game, and you can tell he knows what he’s talking about. Kind of reminds me of Dan Campbell, just maybe a little more laid back.

Drew Allar has all the tools you want from quarterback, he has prototypical size, a big arm, and he can run when needed.

however, his mechanics are bad at times leading to inconsistency, and the biggest knock on him of all at least in my opinion is he does not have the mental make up to play the position. He lacks that killer instinct, and I don’t think those things can be taught either you have it or you don’t

I’ve said it before last year and a few weeks ago, but if you could put McSorley‘s head and heart and Gen’s body, the guy would be a Hall of Fame NFL quarterback. He will hold them back from the national championship this year.

See what happens when you draft a QB? Look at the NY Giants. Haven’t we seen enough of The Frajeel to know he’s not the one? On that note, haven’t we also seen enough of Chris Grier to know he absolutely, positively cannot be the one to make that very important choice if finding our next QB. I swear if Grier and McDoofus are still here next season I’m going to become a Giants fan. This team doesn’t deserve my time, or my effort, or my passion!

Watching one helluva game with the Eagles @ Bucs! Each team is 3-0.

Dart bounces off a defender and gets the 1st down. Tua would be out for the season!

Justin Herbert just pulled a Tua, ran about 15 yards backwards for the sack.

  91. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Baker Mayfield making a play Tua could probably make. Once, and they’d peel him off the turf and then cart him away. Just knowing our QB can’t do these things, and really, the list of things he CAN do is diminishing by the week

The Jaxson Dart Era has begun! Giants knock off the LA Chargers!

Jalen Hurts with 241 straight pass attempts without an INT. Are you seeing a pattern from my posts? LOL

Come on Mike E. You’d never switch teams. You’re stuck with the rest of us masochists !

Actually, I’m going to hold myself to it. They walk this back next season with the trio of Grier, McDaniel and Tua and I’m OUT. I’m not even kidding. Not a chance I waste any more time on this garbage. It makes me so angry seeing other teams doing what we should be doing. I saw a NY Giants organization get totally energized by their young QB. You have to draft one, and not necessarily in the 7th RD, but if you do draft one in the 7th RD, and Tua keeps playing, well, like Tua, then make the change and see what he can do. Find out if maybe you have the next Brock Purdy. Don’t waste any more time with Zach Wilson. Give Ewers his shot and see what he can do and then you know 100% you have to draft a QB and try again until you get the right one. Most importantly, though it can’t be Chris Grier making that choice, oh HELL NO!

This is exactly why I stepped away from Dolphins’ forums for 2 full years. I just got sick of hearing the excuses with this team and organization as a whole. I came back because of you guys/gals and I actually liked the last draft, minus Jonah “2 picks”. Hopefully many changes are made or I might join Mike next year…

Let it play out, Mike E.. I don’t believe there is any coming back this year.

    Mike E,

We 100% have to draft a new QB and he needs to be one of the top 3 mobile QBs. The best QBs in today’s NFL are a running threat during every play. He also helps an average OL look great. I’m on the Moore train but Sellers also has a lot of people pushing him out there, so I’ll have to look at him more. He uses his legs too much from what little I’ve seen though while Moore had everything I want to see from my QB against PSU.
