2025 Season – Game 7 – Dolphins @ Browns

How exciting!!! The 1-5 Miami Dolphins travel to Cleveland to play the 1-5 Browns!! Oh joy! How many of you just can’t wait until Sunday 1PM to watch this one? Our defense is beyond bad at this point, teams are running all over us, and scoring 29 points per game. The Brownies just might be the fix for the defense because they feature a QB with no arm just like us in QB Dillon Gabriel, since they sent QB Joe Flacco packing to their division rival Cincinnati Bengals. Hey, by the way, Joe Flacco has a message for Tua and those that defend him relentlessly.

“Hey Tua, I know it sucks when your defense gives up a late score, but the QB’s job is to WIN THE GAME. You don’t say “Hey, I scored the winning TD with 4:42 remaining”. “You get the ball back at the end of the game with a chance to win it, GO WIN IT!!”

Obviously, Joe Flacco didn’t say that, but he could! I do! Yes, Joe Flacco, who has been in Cincinnati for all of 2 weeks managed put up more than 30 points with his new team and win coming back after his defense blew a late lead. Flacco engineered the comeback drive with 2:15 remaining in the game. What do you know? QB’s actually can come back and win the game for their team, EVEN AFTER YOUR DEFENSE BLOWS A LATE 4TH QTR LEAD. Oh, and does it make it more or less palatable that the QB is 40 years old? How can we expect Tua to do that when he’s been in the same offense for more than 3 years? Oh, and hey, the Bengals don’t have an O-line either or QB Joe Burrow would still be playing. I’m sure there will be plenty of excuses forthcoming, y’all can’t help yourselves!

Anyway, back to the task at hand. The Dolphins will be in Cleveland on Sunday and while the temperature is expected to be a mild 60-65 degrees, there is a chance of heavy rain and very heavy wind, somewhere in the proximity of 50MPH winds. I don’t see RB Jaylen Wright on the injury report, but also haven’t seen any signs that he’s going to play. If the weather forecast is correct, you’d have to imagine we’ll see an awful lot of running plays if the winds are 50 miles per hour during the game. That could wreak havoc on any QB’s passes, but especially so for two QB’s who don’t/can’t put pace and velocity on the ball when passing. For the Browns, we’ll be seeing a lot of Browns rookie RB Quinshon Judkins, one spot before the worst OG in the NFL through 6 weeks, Jonah Savaiinaea. Judkins has 383 rushing yards on 84 attempts with 2 rushing TD’s, averaging 4.6 YPC. For the Dolphins, our best player, De’Von Achane will once again be asked to reproduce “The De’Von Achane Show”. Achane is the one true constant force in this MM offense, but if conditions are really poor for the pass game, could this be the week that MM relies on someone other than Achane to carry the rock? Could it be RB Jaylen Wright, he of trade up fame, or this year’s 6th RD pick RB Ollie Gordon, who “spells” Achane. By “spell”, I mean 1 carry and then GTFOTF. RB Jaylen Wright hasn’t been healthy enough to play in 2025, and that was after his huge 2024 campaign with the enormous workload of 68 carries.

If there was ever a cure for a a defense as bad as our Dolphins, it’s a team that is averaging only 13.7 points per game. That’s good for dead last in the NFL. I wonder if Brownie fans will defend QB Dillon Gabriel as vigorously as Dolphins fans defend our QB Tua Tagovailoa. With Shedeur Sanders waiting in the wings, they may not have to for very long. To add, I heard something along the lines that QB Deshaun Watson says he’s healthy and wants to play. Watson’s fully guaranteed contract of 5YR/$230M makes Tua’s contract look good. I feel bad for the Browns, they have great fans there and they were brutally betrayed by Owner Art Modell who moved the team to Baltimore in the middle of the night and became the Baltimore Ravens. These new Cleveland Browns haven’t been the same. They were much worse than us in 2024, at 3-14. In 2023, they were our equals, 11-6 and a brutal WC loss exit. Now, once again, we’re equals, so take that Chris Grier, Mike McDaniel and Tua fans, we’re hanging with the Browns baby!

Someone has to win this game on Sunday, it will probably be us so we can ruin our draft position. To be clear, if Chris Grier is still here, then it doesn’t matter in the least because he will fuck it up as per usghe. When Achane is on the field, he’s the best player on our side, but Achane and Tua both, had better keep their eyes open wide for #95 DE Myles Garrett. Probably bored and uninspired, Garrett is a fierce player and we don’t want him, well at least YOU don’t want him falling on Tua, and WE don’t want him falling on Achane. Garrett is the best player on the field period, with 106.5 sacks in 8 seasons, a 4 time All Pro and 6 time Pro Bowl player, and 1 time Defensive Player of the Year in 2023. The Browns defense, while not good, is better than our Dolphins, 21st in points allowed at 24.3 PPG.

On the injury front, it looks like all but S Elijah Campbell are a GO for the Dolphins. That means CB Storm Duck is set to return, and we might see the return of our old friend WR Cedric Wilson as he’s off the injury report. Tua, Jordyn Brooks, Alec Ingold, Tyrel Dodson is returning from his c-c-c-oncussion, Dante Trader and Aaron Brewer all set to return. I’d imagine TE Darrell Waller will be active but how many reps he get even MM doesn’t know. It’s a mystery every week! On the Browns side, Myles Garrett and Joel Bitonio are a GO. OT Jack Conklin is OUT. WR Jerry Jeudy is up in the air with a knee injury but TE David Njoku will be OUT with a knee injury. Good for us, because we still can’t cover a TE!

If the weather forecast is correct, do you think we see the season debut of RB Jaylen Wright who has been a healthy scratch for 2 weeks in a row? I’d say we should, this would then be the type of game that will be won on the ground. On the other hand, does MM trust anyone other than Achane to carry the rock more than 5 or 6 times? Probably not. How this manifested itself, I’ll never understand. Do Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel discuss what they need in the draft? Why trade up and use a valuable 3rd RD pick for a player you can’t/don’t trust to take the field? It’s maddening, and really inexcusable. Those picks are not disposable when you have shitty depth on the O-line, D-line and secondary. While I like Ollie Gordon, this year’s 6th RD pick, he’s a physical runner that requires repetition, maybe a drive where or two where he gets consecutive carries to get into a rhythm and maybe bring some physicality to the offense. This game seems like it would be the one to do this, but . . . Dolphins . . .

Wright sighting in our backfield …. Oh wait he’s a Browns DL

  2. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    Mike E,

Tua is making $50m a year, they aren’t benching him for anyone unless we are getting blown out.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

That’s silly, the money is wasted either way. This way you get a look at Ewers to see if he can be a competent QB.

  3. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Holy Shit. Ollie with a second carry 😱

  4. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

LMAO at announcers calling Ollie our short yardage back .. he only runs for short yardage cause he’s always hit in the backfield

  5. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

You know what, they SHOULD trade Waddle. They barely look his way, might as well get something out of him

  6. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Great, Malik Washington hurt as he’s hung up to get drilled

  7. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

WTF ever happened to the Tua who would throw receivers wide open? He’s a mere shadow of his former self.

  8. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

We suck bad, but these refs haven’t remotely tried to hide their bias for the home team.

It seems every time I see this Hochuli crew, they clearly favor one team.

  9. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I saw Waller has decided his season is over.

  10. Randy's avatar Randy says:

If Tua was a QB who would actually lift the players around him and would benefit the team by playing, I’d play him, but he’s not. The problem is he’s probably gonna be on the team next year too, and they’ll want to get something out of him even if it is just to try to improve his trade value. So, in reality, we have some time to find out what Ewers can do. Sooner would be better than later but don’t throw Ewers out there if he isn’t ready either.

As I said Tua is now nothing more than an anchor around this team’s neck. Unless you’re gonna just throw him away and take the hit financially, you need to try to get something out of him. Signing him was a terrible decision and made out of fear.

  11. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    M13,

When did Tua throw guys open? He throws to a spot and the receiver is supposed to run into that spot. That’s not throwing guys open. That’s a timing offfense. I’m not saying he’s never thrown guys open, but that’s not what he does routinely. That’s not what our offense does.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I think the underlying point about his pronounced decline is spot on

he had weaknesses in the past but now he has no strengths

  12. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

So it looks like it’ll come down to us and the Jest. We still have to play in NY, so that should be a loss.

Still a bit worried that an interim HC might get us a win or two. The next two weeks, we’re at the Falcons then against the Ravens with Lamar expected back. Fire MM after this game and hopefully those two teams can take care of business.

  13. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I bet we see a few more flags thrown against the Browns to finish the game looking more even

  14. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

His trade value just keeps going up 🙄

  15. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Love it!!!! It must be the meetings!!! LMAO!!!

  16. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    He’s so bad

  17. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

It’s also interesting that holding with the QB in the endzone is a safety, but a linemen illegal hands to the face isn’t. They should just teach linemen in that situation to rip a dlineman’s facemask off instead of holding them.

  18. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I’ll be very surprised if Capri McD isn’t fired tomorrow.

  19. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

After the game, Stefanski will be asked “how do you keep this momentum into next week?”

Stefanski: “Can we play the Dolphins again?”

  20. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Sideline reporter: when I spoke to Mike McDaniel yesterday about all the trade speculation he said that the only reason why there is trade talk is because of our record. NO SHIT YOU FUCKING MORON!!!!!

  21. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    Tua fucking suuuuuuuuuuucks

  22. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

The Tua era is officially over.

  23. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

    Just wow

  24. Randy's avatar Randy says:

It is truly amazing how many of my friends and family remember I’m a Dolphins fan when we suck. And I got nothing to say.

  25. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

3 INTs in 3 of 7 games this year.

  26. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Looked liked Ewers was warming up , McD was talking to some guy in an orange sweater , he turns around and just about took a pass to the face not paying attention

  27. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

    The Mighty Quinn

  28. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Well it looks like he understands Tuas playbook as well as Tua

  29. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Our punter has been pretty great today

  30. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Ewers: not a good first three downs. Ford roads should have been picked, completion for a loss, fumbled snap.

  31. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

    I’m so sad…lol

  32. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Why the heck are they throwing it on 2nd down?

  33. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

    I’m twisted right now…somehow ok we lost…lol

  34. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

    Way before 2-minute warning…wtf?

  35. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

    The rope is getting longer….good!

  36. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Waddle was face masked on that big hit that injured him.

  37. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Another couple of weeks and all our tradable players will be injured.

  38. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Why did we go for it there ??

  39. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

At least our dumbass coach doesn’t have Achane on the field right now. Pretty dumb to have Waddle out there in a game that is over. But hey, it’s not like he lost Chubb in the same type of situation (a game that was over), so why would he have learned anything?

  40. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

I am not angry .. I see them screw up and I can only laff. Been a lotta laffs today

  41. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

    Nice touch under pressure

  42. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

    Did the Jets win? Lol

  43. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Remember a time when we could at least say we weren’t as bad as Cleveland?

  44. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

I’d fire McD on the plane home. Only trouble is, the DC is awful too. Who’s gonna coach the team? Chucky?

  45. New Age's avatar New Age says:

LMFAO at this team. Fortunately, I wasn’t going to watch this slop unless paid to. I checked in at 3:45 to see if we somehow could beat a rookie QB on a 1-5 team and……LOL!!! NOPE! Tua with 3 ints? No way!!! Tua outplayed by a dude who was in college less than a year ago? Impossible! LMAO!

They aren’t getting any more of my money or my time. They haven’t since early last year and won’t for the foreseeable future. If I check and the Dolphins are 5-0 or 7-2 or something in the future? Then sure but they don’t deserve my time or my money. I’ll still come here to see how everyone is doing and talk Dolphins but I’m no longer wasting effort on this product.

  46. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    @DanteKopFlem

Dillon Gabriel is the 6th quarterback in the Super Bowl era with 100+ pass attempts and zero interceptions in his first 3 career starts, joining: C.J. Stroud (121 attempts) Warren Moon (103) Carson Wentz (102) Case Keenum (102) Tom Brady (101)
