Jeff Hafley has been quite busy as you can see filling out his coaching staff. Note that there are 2 positions with asterisks next to them, that’s because neither of those positions have been formally announced although this is the expected outcome. Sean Duggan as DC and Al Washington as Defensive Line Coach. As to who the DC officially is is not really all that important as Jeff Hafley will be calling the defense. The coaching staff is chock full of Green Bay Packers coaches, they must be thrilled that Jeff Hafley not only took the HC job here in Miami but took so much of their staff along with him.
There’s always going to be people who are going to say how important it is to watch to see coaching connections, who Head Coaches are able to bring in as coordinators and assistants. Well, I’ll tell you this, while there are no “big” names for coordinators, it does speak well of Haf that all these guys who worked for both Haf and Sully chose to follow them here, rather than work for a pretty darn good Head Coach in his won right, Todd LaFleur. This is definitely going to have to be a wait and see process here in Miami.
One thing I will reiterate after watching Haf speak is that he definitely appears to be a no nonsense guy, which of course is refreshing after being with a guy who was pretty accepting of nonsense. I’m guessing players who practice well won’t be getting to choose their favorite song the next practice, as it was with Mike McDaniel. The players loved it, don’t get me wrong, but we know we absolutely had an accountability issue here in Miami, players either missing certain meetings or constantly coming in late for them. This will not be tolerated, and despite the fact that these multi millionaire players can be spoiled brats, that doesn’t mean you let them get away with stuff. You have to set the tone of what will and won’t be tolerated, and clearly a change is necessary.
I won’t and can’t say that every guy we hired is the best in the business because they aren’t. What they more than likely are though is on the same page with Sully and Haf, and that my friends is a good thing. Everyone on the same page in the same direction doing it the same way should be helpful for the Dolphins as they truly begin building this team. There’s not much of a foundation here, and there’s going to be a departure of a bunch of players to bring us to being in the black as far as cap space and out of the red. Right now we’re in the negative, and players like Tyreek Hill, Bradley Chubb, Minkah Fitzpatrick are the big earners that may either be cut or traded to obtain some more draft capital and lower our cap. We also might have to either cut QB Tua Tagovailoa which will be a huge cap hit for us, monstrous really, a dead cap hit of almost $100M. Thanks again Chris Grier, great job! I wouldn’t be surprised if RT Austin Jackson is cut, both his play and availability have been less than average. Once the aforementioned players are gone, we’ll have a really young roster and then with the influx of drafted and undrafted players on the roster, it be even younger.
The dream of receiving compensatory picks for Anthony Weaver were but a pipe dream. Both he and Mike McDaniel had to accept coordinator positions and both of them will be better off that way. It seemed pretty clear that running everything proved to be too much of a task for Mike McDaniel, but he should thrive as OC for the Chargers. Anthony Weaver has yet to be hired but will be interviewing for the second time with the Arizona Cardinals and he may end up their DC. I wish both of them luck, they did their best here, it just wasn’t enough and to be fair, neither of them were helped much by departed GM Chris Grier, who left this roster in a shambles along with being in the red cap wise.
The Senior Bowl is going strong, I plan to watch the practices that I have recorded when I can, I’ve been spending and hour to 3 hours on my days off at the dentist trying to fix my teeth. What a mess! If I never see the dentist again after these issues are fixed, I won’t shed a tear. Of course I’ll have to go every 6 months for cleanings, but procedures, NO THANKS! I know we have plenty of residents here at FMU keeping us abreast of what’s happening, I thank you guys very much for doing that BBM, and others! The draft is where we will be building our foundation, so I believe we might take at least 1 or 2 guys from the Senior Bowl. As to the QB position, as I’ve said many times before, unless QB Tua Tagovailoa has a renaissance, and comes in here chiseled and ready to battle for a starting job, I never, ever want to see him take a snap as Miami Dolphins QB. I don’t care if we cut him or trade him, just get him out! On the off chance he does have a change in attitude, he’s more than welcome to compete, and that doesn’t just mean practices, it means in the actual game, like every play matters, not like in the past that he was far too important to get a first down, his health came first and foremost, far more important than the team or actually WINNING. I’m fine with drafting a QB and letting 2nd year QB Quinn Ewers compete with that QB for the starting job.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

My gut is Tua is done under Sully and Haf. They’re not building around him. You start with Ewers and go from there rebuilding this team.
That’s my feeling as well, Tim.

I REALLY like this one, but if we wait until the 5th round to address EDGE, I have a really bad feeling about this…
JMO, as always… and knowing we can’t address everything in one mere draft class.
I’m having a very difficult time addressing BIG needs as well, just the way the Draft seems to be falling to us in these mocks.
For whatever it may be worth, I think we almost HAVE to draft an EDGE before the 3rd round is over, if not sooner.
I was really hoping to address it earlier, but Downs fell and then Hood fell in the 2nd and so I sort of had to take two DBs in the first two rounds
We have three 3rds, I’m pretty sure we draft Edge by then if not sooner.
^
Piggy, you posted that video of WR Skyler Bell. That UCONN QB Joe Fagnano throwing him the ball is on my UDFA list. I think he goes undrafted as he is 26yo.
It’s crazy how old some of these players are getting before they go pro
Yeah, Fagnano was in college 7 years.
He must have been a frat bro to John Belushi.
Max Iheanachor never played football until he went to a junior college. He played soccer and basketball in high school. Keeps getting better every year.
wow, those are NOT the legs of a soccer player!
Iheanachor and Blake Miller are my RT targets with a trade down. Miller is a more athletic mover and plays nasty in the run game.
wearing braces on both knees….
Precautionary?
Not sure if I posted this one yet. Dunker will make a very good RG.
You did, we agreed. lol
I figured lol
I think since he injured his knee while celebrating after the Big Ten Championship game vs Ohio State that Indiana Edge Stephen Daley will be one of my top UDFA targets. He was projected to go late day 3 but the knee injury just happened in December so he may go undrafted.
On the team website he is listed at 6’1, 273. I think he is a little lighter than that maybe closer to 265. He only played at Indiana for 1 season after transferring from Kent State.
Half of his tackles were tackles for loss and he led the country in TFL with 19. He also had 5.5 sacks and 2 FF.
Jets hire former Colts, Panthers head coach Frank Reich as offensive coordinator
as long as Glen is the head coach don’t care what they do
Does that make this the third Reich?
I’m not sure, but I think this is Sully’s first signing for Miami?
Terrace Marshall Jr. former 2nd round pick who was on the Philadelphia Eagle’s practice squad last season.
I liked Terrace Marshall coming out of LSU. I thought he was going to develop well after a decent year 2 but has seemed to have fallen off. Of course, he was with Carolina and the Raiders, so…
Good size 6’2.5, 205, 4.43 at combine and 4.38 at his pro day.
@TomPelissero
The Cardinals are hiring Nathaniel Hackett as their offensive coordinator, sources tell The Insiders. Hackett, 46, was the offensive coordinator for three seasons under Matt LaFleur in Green Bay. Now, he teams up with Mike LaFleur in Arizona.
————
There he goes!
a salty tear falls from Piggy’s eye…then Piggy giggles and farts bc he never really cared….
🐖💨
Sulley and Haf said they want their focus to be on scoring more points than the other team does and I agree with them. They’re already talking like winners.
if i had known they just wanted to score more points than the other team.I would have been all over these two guys from the beginning
what a couple of geniuses
I think we should focus on our Defense giving up less points than the opposing D

Dolphins add former second-round pick to wide receiver roomTerrace Marshall Jr. brings size and potential to the Miami Dolphins’ WR room.by Josh Houtz
He’s been nothing special for like 5 years.
Agreed on Josh Houtz! 😉 LOL
I’m none too fond of ‘gatekeepers’ like Josh Houtz. He’s alright, to be fair… but he leaves much left to be desired to be one of the ‘gatekeepers’ of Phins football on X/Twitter.
He’s good at social media, but his opinions are amateur. IMO
From the experts…lol
Sully is building from the ground up…lmfao
He had nothing to start with so he’s starting…
I disagree. He has plenty to build on. Just might take a season to get it right.
He has zero an upside down cap, bad contracts, no lines. no depth, no QB, no DBs, a depleted WR unit…
I’m sure I missed a few other pearls…lol
Arm chair GMs sitting on a couch…lol
I didn’t realize Sully had actually started signing players…I’m sure all of you knew about it…lol
The CG trauma is rampant, I see…lol
I think we have much more talent now than we had when McDaniel or Flores or Philbin or Gase or Sparano took over
we have really bad contracts / but there is talent on this team
This team needs a lot more talent. Achane and Waddle are it…and they’re both small and injury prone. Neither have exactly established themselves yet either. Who else is standout talent? Chop? Sieler? Brewer? Paul? You can find those kind of guys all over the NFL.
the narrative that Waddle and Achane are injury prone is false.
Achane missed six games in his rookie season, and hasn’t missed one since.
waddle has missed 6 or 7 games in four years.
just because they are on the smaller side and everyone is waiting for them to get hurt, doesn’t mean they are Injury prone. They have actually been pretty durable .
I see Waddle coming out of games a lot. That disturbs me, especially when Tyreek was already OUT. He’s the guy, but somehow, he’s not the guy. I wouldn’t mind if we traded him. It’s a been a minute since he really did anything of substance. He puts up decent numbers, but definitely more like a #2 WR than a #1. If it’s #1, then somewhere at the bottom of the pile. If you want to tell me it’s the QB, I’ll listen, because I think that could be the issue.
We had a lot of talent until Grier decided other people’s talent was worth more than our own. Dude couldn’t draft a decent CB after Howard either. It sholuldn;t take too long to get some more. It just depends on if we get competent QB play.
You can’t trade Waddle unless it is a post 6/1 trade. Trading him pre 6/1 will cause an extra 11.5m cap hit. Waddle was another really fucked up contract Grier did guaranteeing future salary if he is on the roster the previous year.
This contract is so fucked, it would take a whole article to explain it.
Grier hog tied (sorry piggy) us with Waddle. The back end is so high, you would be lucky to find a trade partner. No one is going to want his salary in 2027 and 2028.
You most likely will just have to cut him next year before his guarantee kicks in for 2028.
Once we unload Tua, Waddle will have the highest cap hit of any Dolphin on the roster in 2027 at 33.8m and in 2028 at 37.2m.
Grier was like that woman a dude marries who is so frugal and uses coupons. Then, after a few years she gets used to spending his money and a few more years later she maxing out credit cards, even cards you didn’t know about.
I don’t know why Spotrac counts the whole 8.6m it is projecting to sign our rookie class and adds it to our negative cap. In reality, only about 4m to 5m will affect our top 51 and that is it we don’t trade down.
One free agent to keep an eye on, especially if make Chubb a cap casualty, is Packers backup Edge Kingsley Enagbare. He’s not a big sack guy but is very solid vs the run.
He’s nothing special but if Hafley liked him and the price is right, who knows.
He should be less than 5m per year. He has been very consistent every year and has been available for every game since being drafted.
Another possibility from GB could be Edge Brenton Cox Jr if the Packers don’t put a tender on him. That is if Hafley liked him. He was the #5 Edge on their depth chart and has only played in 11 games recording 17 tackles and 5 sacks.
The only other player Hafley had in GB who I would be interested in would be CB Kamal Hadden. That is also if the Packers don’t put a tender on him and he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
Brian,
We’ll see. I think they are more prone to injury simply because abuse of their size and builds. They are both around 5’9-10” and 180-90. And, it’s just a fact that they have both had multiple injuries already. Both have had concussions. Both have knee/ankle injuries. Rib injuries. It’s not always just about whether or not they miss a game. As Mike said, I’ve watched Waddle go out of games many times.
The problem is that we are paying Waddle as a true #1, a top 10 WR, and he’s neither of them. At best, Waddle is a 1.5 WR… Spending all that money on two wide receivers and a quarterback who was damaged in college was a terrible approach to building a team that would never lead to the ultimate success, which is the AFC Championship and Super Bowl.
Right on all counts Rich!
you can’t blame Waddle for that! (Good Grief)
Who is blaming Waddle? The one to blame is gone, but it still doesn’t change the fact that Waddle is not worth the price we paid him or a top 10 pick. WRs like him are available in every draft and not always in the first round, and I stick by that statement.
Rich, I’ve been saying that for years
A look at the dates for the ’26 NFL offseason…
https://operations.nfl.com/gameday/nfl-schedule/2026-important-nfl-dates/
I see my guy Keagen Trost, RT, Missouri, has followed me on X. Nice!
Cool
It’s the NFL guys, everyone gets injured. It can happen to anyone.
San Francisco 49ers to play Los Angeles Rams in first-ever game in Melbourne, Australia
Dolphins will play Denver Broncos in Iran in 2027. Should be a blast!
😂
LMAO
😆
Krishna, we have more talent to build on than what you said. QB is the key in winning more games. We shall see.
We have a few good men and for now I’m going to let the newbies build the team and do their jobs.
I agree with Tim, that we have a lot of talent to build upon. No, not across the board, but we DO have talent to build upon.
It a player acquisition business and we are upside down with contracts and assets….ooph..lol
It’s…
Krishna,
You cannot honestly say that ANY and EVERYONE that Chris Grier has drafted or acquired via FA needs to be fired.
That’s WAY too extremist, man.
I mean, we HAVE some very, very good players on this team that can carry us into the future.
Did I say that? Lol…
O: C – Brewer, smallish needs G help, but we have none.
IOL: We have no Gs…See above…lol
OT: BP seems to be stout. RT is….hmmm
TE: I liked Dulcich.
WR: I like Waddle…he takes himself out of a lot of plays.
RB: Achane is awesome…he will go until he can’t. Great speed and seems he’s been getting better. How long he lasts depends on if he keeps making people miss…lol
QB: Ewers is an unknown at this point, and I wouldn’t rule him out. We need a QB…lol
3 maybe of 11
I can’t do the D right now…lol
First brush…our MLBs?
Too many bad contracts to build a team with talent…we will need lots of acorns, imo…lol
TK and mf13ss, what do you disagree with the O assessment?
Our best player on D is Chubb…we need to let him go toba winner and I don’t think we it’s possible.
Our best unit is the MLBs…
YES, I concur with that.
No team has elite talent all over the place. And teams with elite talent at the highest position, like Buff, just dumped their HC because he wasn’t able to translate. We went 7-10 with a washed-up QB who acted like a 7-yr old and didn’t give a shit half the time and a 7th round pick. That’s after Grier got rid of tons of talent like Wilkins, AVG, Hunt, Jones, and Holland. He wasted tons of picks on LBs, WRs, RBs, and CBs who couldn’t stick with the team.
This team definitely needs an infusion of people who like the players they draft and aren’t always pining after other teams players, but we weren’t awful overall. We just had the wrong people picking the groceries.
I think Brooks is our best player on D.
Easily
HAPPY to see Roger Craig finally elected to the Pro Football HOF!!!
WELL DESERVED!!!
So, we have 1 or 2 of 11 on D? Lol….
I suppose we have 3 to 5 pieces to build around? Oh my. I think that’s generous, but oh my…lol.
I believe that’s our really currently and all the more reason to clean house.
…reality…
I’m not sure any of the “5” are elite, except Achane, Brooks is very good….BP is very good.
I probably don’t know I’m talking about, but I’m damn excited about the regime overhaul. We shall see who’s on the team in August…lol.
We know nothing about our DL rookies. They all showed promise, Trader also.
LOL at Bobby Slowik praising Tua for how he handled his demotion last season. Yeah, he was still getting paid and didn’t have to worry about getting hit.

He ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT worth TWO first round picks!! TWO!!!!!
^^^^
We also swapped 4th & 5th round picks in the terrible trade!
Agreed, which makes it twice as bad.
They say that the trade value for Mac Jones would be a 3rd round pick.
Would you do it?
I don’t think I would and I don’t want Malik Willis either. I don’t think Willis has much upside and he is not very accurate.
If anything, I would get Mitchell Trubisky as a bridge QB. Give him a 2yr deal. He can compete with Ewers and draft a rookie like Chambliss or Robertson. Also, add a UDFA QB like Fagnano.
Then draft a QB in the first in 2027.
This team in going absolutely NOWHERE this season. We already have the bridge QB on the roster. Roll with the mighty Quinn and whomever we can get cheep for a backup, without trading.
Trubisky probably won’t be cheap but will be cheaper than Willis. Looking at 5m-6m per year for Trubisky.
I was told that I wasn’t a real fan when I complained about trading up from 12 to 6 for waddle after the FANTASTIC trade down to pick up all that capital. Grief turned that capital into crapital.
I remember. I was pissed also. I wanted Devonta Smith and was pounding the table for him. Though Smith hasn’t turned into a true #1 himself, we would have saved some serious draft capital for the same type of receiver. Their #’s are almost identical.
I was told Smith was too skinny and frail. He’s only missed 5 games in 5 seasons.
Smith has a career completion % when targeted of 70%. During their super bowl run in 2024 his completion % when targeted was a crazy 77.3% catching 75 balls on 97 targets.
Give me a break!
You’ve just got to consider the source when people argue with you BBM.
Real G’s know how to show respect.
Honestly, in the last 9 drafts the only 2 first round picks that I wasn’t pissed at was Fitzpatrick and Wilkins and that was in 2018 & 2019, and we traded Fitzpatrick. I was also ok with the Grant pick. Looking at all those picks shows me just how pitiful Grier was at drafting on days 1 & 2.
We’ve spent a lot of money and draft picks on probably the least important position on the field after kickers.
Yep, basically “eye candy”
RIP Sonny Jurgensen
The Super Bowl hasn’t had a country performer since Shania Twain in 2003 who performed with No Doubt and Sting. Before that was in 1994 when they had an all country lineup 32 years ago.
Do they think country people don’t like football?? That’s weird
This will be Bad Bunny’s second SB halftime appearance in 7 years.
and he hates America
No worries, when it comes to this “performer” the feeling is mutual.
Seriously though, I didn’t realize there must be more Hispanic football fans than country music loving football fans.
