Hope you all enjoy celebrating our country’s Independence Day, July 4th. We live in the USA, the best country in the world! (Sorry Toba and UK!) We should always be thankful we’re here. I know politics divides us sometimes, and things aren’t always the way all of us like it, but there’s no other country I’d rather be in. As far as our football, well that’s a different story altogether. We’re in a rebuild, we’re not in a rebuild, we’re in a soft rebuild, we’re going for it, whatever you call this, I think we’re doing a pretty awful job of it, more specifically, GM Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel. They had me fooled for a bit that they were going to be frugal and not waste future money or draft capital and then they trade for a TE who quit on his team (Do you see a theme and a problem with this?) in TE Darren Waller who decided blocking was too hard and his love for the game was gone while playing for the NY Giants. Not only did we give up a 6th RD pick but we’re also paying him $5M.
Hey, did I mention we traded Jonnu Smith? Yeah, the guy that made the 2024 season somewhat palatable because he was one of our best players, setting a record for receptions for a Miami Dolphins TE. I’ll also remind you, most of those receptions were within the 0-10 yard varieties and his run after catch ability was on display quite a bit last season, 88 catches, 884 yards, 8 TD’s. I wish I could show you all of them, because so many were practically handoffs and screens, and Jonnu did most of the work. Well, it doesn’t matter, we didn’t want to pay him, we’d rather pay guys who are already gone, give raises to guys who didn’t deserve them like Jalen Ramsey and Tyreek Hill who also quit on this team. 7 months after giving Ramsey an extension and pay raise, both he and Jalen Ramsey decide it would be better that they part ways. Wonderful! Maybe you should have thought of that before screwing up our cap and sending money to guys who you shouldn’t have and having it available to the ones who you should pay!
So we trade the malcontent Jalen Ramsey and our best TE to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and what do we get back in return? Minkah Fitzpatrick!!! Yes, the guy who couldn’t stand being here because he wasn’t being used the way he wanted to be. I think what bothers me the most about all of this, is a lot of you welcome back Minkah Fitzpatrick with open arms. I will NEVER!!! He will always be MFFF, you know what that means! Another player that QUIT on us, needed to have his way! I can’t root for him, won’t do it. I also cant tell you how angry I am that we traded for Darren Waller. Every year we hear how talented and athletic Tanner Conner is and how well he knows the offense. We hear how Julian Hill is the strongest guy on the team pound for pound and how dedicated he is to becoming a better player. Why Darren Waller? Why??? He hasn’t been relevant since 2020. Grier can never stop wasting picks and money and if you can’t see how badly he needs to be fired, get your fucking eyes checked! I know a guy!
You guys were all over the fact that we drafted Dante Trader and last year we drafted Patrick McMorris and how they might be the safeties for this team. You also really liked Ashtyn Davis and Ifeatu Melifonwu. Now, you love the quitter who is on his way down in his career and one of the best organizations in the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and you know I’m not wrong about them, decided that Minkah was expendable. THAT, tells you something! Well, go ahead and root for the misfits and miscreants Grier brings in here for us, I pray this is his last season, McCupcake as well. It doesn’t matter to me that we’ve been changing regimes for the last 25 years and that certainly contributes to the fact this team hasn’t won a playoff game during that time period, but Grier and McCupcake are not the answer, so rinse and repeat, let’s try it again after we fail to do so again in 2025. If somehow, miraculaously we do win a playoff, well, that will mean I’m wrong and it won’t be the first time that has happened, but if I were you, I wouldn’t bet on this one!
GO DOLPHINS!!!
