Wedge Scouting Report: Todd Gurley

ToddGurley4Wedge ID

Oh the misery of Intergalactic Agent who travelled light years to watch the great running backs of the NFL.  Once upon a time my body had three beating hearts, now its hollow.  Why the sorrow?  Because there are no great running backs in the NFL anymore.  That era is over in favor of pass happy offenses.  This depressing fact dawned on me in week 1 of the NFL after my fantasy draft.  Guess who I drafted?  Adrian Peterson in the 1st round and Ray Rice in the 2nd round.  Oops…

WedgeCries

Where is my Barry Sanders?  Where is my Walter Payton?  Where is my Jim Brown.  The NFL tells me it will never happen again. causing the tears of this alien to fill the oceans of Neptune.  But then there was light!  His name is Todd Gurley.

AP TENNESSEE GEORGIA FOOTBALL S FBC T25 USA GA

What can’t Todd Gurley do?  He can carry the ball, he can catch it, he can block and he can return kicks.  He uses speed and power.  He is the best athlete on the field every time he steps on the field at any level.  The reason I came to this planet suddenly had life again.  Is Todd Gurley the next great running back?  Then in November, this cruel planet tore all my dreams away from me.  I laid in bed until December.

Todd Gurley injurywedgeinbed

But Todd Gurley will play in the NFL.  This alien will go on!  Gurley’s potential at the next level is too much for the NFL to pass up.  Some athletes can return from ACL injuries to participate in sports specific drills within five months.  In December Gurley declared for the NFL draft.  In January he signed an agent.  He is ready.  Are you NFL?

112413 uga football 27

Todd Gurley is a 232 pound former track star who uses power and cuts to make plays.  He is a great fit for a zone blocking scheme like the scheme the Dolphins run.  Gurley can make one cut, and overpower the first off balance defender he sees.  Get off me, I’m Todd Gurley and you are a lower life form!!!

ToddGurley3

In six games for Georgia in 2014, Gurley rushed for 911 yards with an impressive 7.4 yards per carry.  In three seasons running for the Bulldogs he had over 3200 yards and averaged over 6 yards a carry.  He had 6 receiving TDs and two kickoff returns!  What is going on here?  Is Gurley and Earthling?  I say no.  But let’s keep it a secret.

ToddGurley5

If Todd Gurley were an Alien Weapon of Destruction he would be a lethal Ooliopii Boomerang.  But Why am I still talking about Gurley.  If you missed him at Georgia, don’t worry the Boomerang is going to come back.  Turn around so you don’t get hit in the back of the head Earthling!

    Tim,
Did you NOT see pennington split out wide…drawing coverage…on those wildcat plays? Sheesh!

  2. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

    WOW, career suicide there Jay.

“At least ten” former members of the Lovie Smith and Marc Trestman coaching staffs told ESPN Chicago the Bears “can’t consistently compete for championships” with Jay Cutler as the quarterback.
Two Bears teammates also said they consider Cutler “a divisive figure with whom they’d rather not continue to play.” Beat writer Michael C. Wright still expects the Bears to give Cutler “one last shot,” something his contract almost requires they do. It’s no secret Cutler essentially sabotaged Trestman’s offense, refusing to operate within the confines of the system. When asked about his willingness to adhere to any offensive structure, several ex-Bears coaches used the terms “renegade” and “rogue” to describe Cutler’s play.

Stanger, I know all about veal.

GD, watching a bull get tortured is not the same as me eating. Think about all those helpless crops being cut down without a care. I sometimes hear the cries of their lost souls. LOL

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

I get it…I was never a fan of bull fighting. But I like to watch the stupid fans running with the bulls.

  5. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Randy — I eat lots of meat, but will not Lamb or veal (the cage thing). Plus I figure the adults live longer and better, and I’m eating less of a portion of them.

Also don’t eat duck……that last one is personal cause at one job this Momma duck each spring used to parade her latest brood through the parking lot. Was just too cute…..I’m good with chicken though. So no logic on the last.

  6. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Think about it. We all watch humans play a game in which they risk serious injury and long term health issues and cheer them on incessantly. Guys develop health issues that significantly shorten their lives and cause health issues that severely hamper their ability to live healthy and productive lives…even in their 50’s let alone their 70’s….so maybe bullfighting isn’t all that different. Different cultures consider it ‘sport”. Who are we to judge?

    • Tim Knight's avatar Silly Tim says:

I don’t root for athletes to bleed out on the field and they’re not forced to participate.

  8. Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

“Yeah there has been a buzz about him since the combine.”

Since way before the combine. Don’t try to paint him as a workout wonder, his film speaks for itself.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Silly Tim says:

I said nothing about workout wonder but he went from 3rd rd grade to possible 1st round pick in the last few weeks. Gee what a coincidence. His workouts weren’t off the charts anyway. I’ve heard multiple people talk highly about him recently. Don’t get all offended about your heart throb. LOL

I like him as a WOLB, I’m concerned about him as a MLB – that doesn’t mean he won’t be good at it though.

      • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

I saw mocks with him in the 1st round months ago. I love how you said nothing about workout wonder but….than again…right? LOL…we all know how you feel about him Tim.

    • D's avatar D says:

Its true, i dont think its the combine that really drew attention to him, i think its all these people are finalizing their film study, and from my own eyes i can tell you he stands out as most NFL ready guy.

Having said that part of me still prefers McKinney, because while i think he is definitely behind Kendricks in instincts, a lot of what i see in McKinney as falws are coachable, and i believe our new LB coach did a really good job with Jelani last year so maybe i have some unfounded confidence he could bring the best out of McKinney. You cant teach his 6’5 255lb frame or the 4.5 speed that comes with it. Coached up, McKinney nullified TE’s in the middle of the field.

  9. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Fuk Suh (sounds like a Chinese dish)

The Detroit Free Press reports free agent Ndamukong Suh wants to be the league’s highest-paid defender by both average annual salary and guaranteed money.
J.J. Watt is the man to beat on both fronts. Watt’s six-year, $100 million deal comes out to $16.6 million annually, and includes $51.8 million guaranteed. They’re staggering numbers, but Suh has a legit shot at passing them. Many of the league’s most-desperate teams, such as Jacksonville and Oakland, find themselves flush with cap space. Suh is their best shot at a signature signing.

    • D's avatar D says:

If his focus is about the money, we wont get him. There will be someone that can afford to pay a lot more than we can. What we have going for us, is location, i mean its fucking Miami, and we also have a team in a bit better position to do something than Jville or Oakland. id put our Suh chances at about 30%

  10. Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

I think Stanger has singlehandedly propagated Orton’s reputation as a drinker more than anyone else alive. LOL..Spiller pays him a compliment, Stanger tells us about his drinking habits.

  11. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    stanger,
I don’t anthropomorphize. Animals are to be eaten in my world. I’d have shot that duck hen….fried her up and enjoyed eating her…and raised up her ducklings to be future meals. I just don’t get a big kick out of watching them be tortured. But, maybe it’s just how I was raised. We ate what we shot…but we were taught to respect the hunt and the animal feeding us.

    • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

Hot damn 14 dollar word right there! Nicely done!

    • D's avatar D says:

I agree. Whats more is, watching the Temple Grandin movie, i learned something about animal deaths. The stress of their death affects the quality of their meat, so killing that bull that way ruined an ass ton of steaks, roasts, ribs, etc. and thats almost unforgivable. I kid, except the part where i agreed with not needing to torture an animal. Just seems cruel regardless of how you feel about an animal being food or not.

    • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

The whole concept of anthropomorphization seems to ignore the fact that humans absolutely ARE animals. LOL…I wonder if Bonobo monkeys ever tell each other to stop pretending other animal species are Bonobos. Bonobos are special and other animal species don’t quarter the same consideration.

      Food for thought eh?

There are still some tribes that engage in cannibalization. “Meat is to be eaten” they’d surely say. 🙂

Mostly just playing devils advocate. Killing for sport is sick in my mind. They aren’t having a bullfight so they can later enjoy a big beef roast.

      • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

        Randy,
I was taught the same ethics as you have regarding eating animals btw. I totally agree. In my family we don’t say “grace” so much but we do try to thank the animal for giving us the nourishment we need to live.

Nice. His film has hundreds of examples like that too. Center/Guard gets an opportunity to get both hands on him, but can’t lock on.
    ———————————–
My biggest knock on him is that when i have seen him get engaged by the OL, he generally is done. He doesnt seem to have the strength to disengage or fight off the block. In College its not a big deal but in NFL where everyone is a former all-american, its a lot hard to get away with. He will definitely have to hit the weights when he gets to the NFL, but again, he still probably the most start day 1 guy in the draft.

    • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

We don’t differ very often on our evaluations, but I read this and think we’re watching different film. I admit I’m biased though because I didn’t miss many of his games this season. He’s consistently the best player on the field IMHO, and he’s got MLB written all over him. He’s gonna be a pro-bowler, and I don’t say that about very many prospects….

    • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

BTW, I guess I’m saying I saw film like that vine posted above all season, but you seemed to see opposite. Differences are interesting though. Usually I see the same thing as you on the film.

    Piggy,
I just think posting for suh will leave or offense at the mercy of the draft- requiring us to draft better than we have historically to improve offensively, if that makes sense. • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

exactly right. I’m thinking about JJ Watts on Houston and I don’t see Houston getting to the Superbowl or far in the playoffs anytime soon

      • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

Good point about Watt. You can’t spend your QB money on a defender and still hope to have a QB unless you’re one of the fortunate teams that drafts a good rookie QB who shows out right away.

    Pig,
here is a piece of the article: Great stuff from Tanny also on resigning Clay & his love of this new Offensive system:

The Dolphins are weighing whether to trade, cut or keep Wallace.

Tannehill said he’s spoken to Wallace this offseason an the conversation was “great.”

“Mike’s a talented player,” Tannehill said. “We’ve all seen what he can do and the element he adds to our offense. Like I said, if he comes back, we’re going to make it work with him, and let him be the playmaker he is.”

Tannehill said he doesn’t know what the front office will do with Wallace.

“I don’t know. It’s out of my hands,” he said. “I’m along for the ride like everyone else. I’m excited to see what turns out, but at this point that’s it.”

Tannehill said the team hasn’t begun any discussions with him or his agent about a long-term deal that would solidify his role as the franchise quarterback.

“I have one year left on my contract, and a possible fifth year option, and I can only control what I can control,” he said. “So I’m just preparing myself for next year.”

He said improving in the red zone will be a key focus when the team returns to Davie for OTAs next month.

He called the potential return of tight end Charles Clay “a great thing.” The Dolphins gave Clay the transition tag on Monday, meaning other teams can make him offers but Miami has the right to match it.

“It’s a great thing,” Tannehill said. “I love the system, and I love Charles and the player he is, and we’ll see what happens there. I’m excited about the future and what’s in store for us.”

    • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

One thing I really like is that I’ve seen Tannehill develop not only on the field, but maturity wise and as a leader on the football team. All the arrows point up on this kid. Whatever anyone feels about the coaches about 8-8 about Wallace or any other polarizing player, this kid is something worth being optimistic about. Go Tannehill!!!

  28. Tim Knight's avatar Silly Tim says:

Jahn, if you want to go back and look, you’ll find me mentioning that I like Hendricks back in January when he a was a 3rd rd pick everywhere I looked. But I like him as a WOLB, and so do a bunch of scouts. So there! LOL

    • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

I like him as an MLB a first rounder and so do a bunch of scouts. So there! LOL!

We all know where we stand, but I ain’t gonna let you paint him as a johnny come lately prospect when I’ve been touting him since the beginning of the college football season, and I have seen him projected first round even if you’ve only seen 3rd.

Something tells me he’s universally been considered rounds 1-3 all along, you’re just picking the low end to focus on because of your eval and I’m picking the high end. Proof will be in the pudding. He’s going to be a pro-bowl MLB. Betcha.

      • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

        That should have a caveat…if he’s drafted by a 4/3 team I think he’ll be a pro-bowl MLB.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Jenkins is our WOLB, why would we draft Kendricks to play WOLB?

  29. Tim Knight's avatar Silly Tim says:

I have to say, Odrick sure doesn’t seem to be getting out of town any time soon.

  30. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    D,
Adding strength is about the easiest thing for guys to do in the NFL. I don’t REALLY like any of the lbers in this draft. They all have holes when I watch them. I’m not sold on Kendricks being a real stout run stopper at MLB, but he does seem to have the ability to go sideline to sideline and to cover. If he could put on another 10 pounds and get more functional strength, he COULD be a solid MLB. On the good side, he does seem to have the smarts to read offenses/plays. You don’t see him taking himself out of plays too often.

  31. dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

LOL at Stanger & Ducks. When I was in college during summer break I would go to Darien Lake with a few of my friends and stay their a few nights. They have an open fried chicken/ Wing house right on the lake so there’s a shit to of Ducks and Geese running by you. The one year I threw a wing on the ground and they swarmed it. So every time we’d eat there my friends and I would share our fried chicken or wings with the ducks and Geese.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Didn’t know that about Ducks and Geese……thought they were vegitarians, at least the kind that only ate fish. From where I grew up though — don’t mess with Swans. Those things have a serious attitude. Nasty.

  34. Tim Knight's avatar Silly Tim says:

Mike E, but Wallace hasn’t been seen schmoozing with Dolphins brass and former greats. Wallace basically takes off when the season is over.

  35. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    From Walterfootball:

“Jared Odrick, DE/DT, Dolphins. Age: 27.
Jared Odrick had a terrific 2014 campaign, as he got to the quarterback frequently and also was sound against the run until a late-season injury limited him a bit. Odrick, who won’t be 28 until December, can fit into any scheme, which will help him on the open market”

“…got to the quarterback frequently…” And in who’s world is 29 tackles and 1 sack “terrific”? Lol

I guess they are including getting within 3 yards of the QB.

  36. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Tim,
I actually like Kendricks. I just think he’ll need a little more strength in the NFL if he plays in the middle.

Yes, Tannehill is and has earned since day 1, being our franchise QB.

  38. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

I’m ok with either Starks or Odrick staying. I obviously don’t see both staying @ what their salaries ‘would’ be in 2015.
That said, I think Odrick is the better choice due to his age 27 and much better stamina than Starks.
Hopefully the new DL coach can add something to the Coyle table that works a lil better.

  39. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Soooo, do we really want this in Miami after Wallace’s attitude?

Andre Johnson says he “laughed at” Bill O’Brien after the Texans’ coach recently informed him he would only catch around 40 balls if Johnson returned to the team in 2015.
“They gave me my role, and I just laughed at them,” Johnson said. “How do you tell a guy who is used to catching 80 balls a year that he was going to catch 40?” O’Brien also told Johnson he “wasn’t even likely to be a starter” in 2015. “So I was real honest with him: ‘If that’s your role for me, you’re going to be dealing with a miserable football player,'” Johnson told O’Brien. Johnson is expected to be cut or traded in the next few days.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I think he actually has a valid point. Why would ypu tell him he’s only going to get 40 receptions? It doesn’t make sense.

    • D's avatar D says:

I read that, and i took it as the coach indicated his use in the offense wasnt going to be as strong as before, and he was basically saying we will see about that. I think that was just him saying he would still be getting open and getting the catches accordingly.

      • D's avatar D says:

I do agree though i dont wanna trade one malcontent for another….that wouldn’t serve a purpose.

  40. D's avatar D says:

Jahn, and to some extent its a reply to Randy as well. Randy see what im seeing i think because he is sensing the same weakness. I also didnt think you and i were in disagreement with how you characterized Kendricks and how i did. Point of emphasis i think was on the word engaged. You are right, most times because of technique he slips being engaged, and i tool your “they cant get their hands on him” statement to reference that. Im talking place where they get to the second level and get their hands on him. I saw mostly when RT’s would get to him and his lack of strength showed as they would lock on and drive him out of the plays. Right now he plays mostly off technique, and instincts, which are very strong with him, but in NFL he wont be able to slip blocks as easily and it will be important for him to develop skills to disengage/fight off blockers. So i guess we disagree if your assertion is he infallible, but i don’t get that’s what your saying, otherwise i think we are talking up the same cat.

  41. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

“imma hit u when i’m dat way”

Think about what might happen if you ever get that text from Aaron Hernandez (that was sent the night of the murder).

  42. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

My plan all along was keep Wallace 1 more year, in year two of this system of Lazor’s they might all come together for Lazor, Tanny & Mike. He’s young, stayed healthy, he’s fast, he can make huge catches when not dropping easy ones.

Then as part of that plan, I keep maintaining that you also draft Wallace’s eventual replacements this year. A big WR early that can gain experience in Hartline’s role on the outside, yet can mix it up inside as well.

This along with Clay staying, solidifying the OL with a FA OG, and adding a big RB in FA or draft…would make or should make our Offense a playoff caliber unit.

    Then onto the Defense……

  45. D's avatar D says:

    Speaking of Hernandez trial….

I was at home sick on a half day yesterday, and on HLN they showed the trial. Ill tell ya with as much evidence as they have against him, i would have thought they’d have him in a bind by now but the court case isnt going that way. Prosecutor is having to tippy toe around details, and half the shit we have read as evidence isn’t being allowed in court.

The defense attorney is also very masterfully planting seeds of doubt in almost every piece of evidence they have so what it amounts to is a ton of circumstantial evidence, no murder weapon, and no eye witness. I thought for sure dude was going away for this, but im starting to feel a bit different after actually hearing what they are allowing the jurors to hear in court. Remember its beyond reasonable doubt…and with the shit i heard as far as the cross examination of the sprint tech, and Odin sister, im not going to be shocked if he walks for it. They need to come up with something strong soon, because yesterday the defense attorney won that match.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

What about the immunity for testimony from the ex-gf?

      • D's avatar D says:

I didnt get to see her testimony, so im including that in the “if they dont come up with something good soon” part. I will say though just because she has been granted immunity doesnt mean she has to incriminate him, she can answer whatever she wants to, she just doesnt have to fear legal recourse by saying she threw away evidence for example and then saying what it was she threw away. They have her on camera carrying huge trash bags full of stuff to throw away right after he was taken into custody, so they know she messed with stuff, the immunity only protects her from charges that she would normally be under if they went after her for her involvement.

      • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

But D, they don’t grant immunity until they get the statement they want. So, whether it comes up in testimony or not, they’ll admit the statement that solicited her immunity in the first place. No DA grants immunity solely on the promise of an incriminating testimony, there’s got to be something tangible to use at the time it’s granted.

That’s my thoughts on it anyway.

    • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

What constitutes reasonable doubt is the question. Defendants have gone away with far far less evidence than what they’ve got on Hernandez, but then again some have walked with more evidence. Circumstantial evidence is not a bad word in building a murder case. An eye witness and murder weapon are always the holy grail, but not always needed to get a guilty verdict.

I’m not watching it, but I would be surprised if he walks. We’ll see. So much of the verdict is already baked into the cake during jury selection anyway.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

D — because the defense has been playing the “why would he shoot him they are friends” card, the prosecution now has a motion in to enter evidence about the dude he shot in Florida after the night at the strip club who he left for dead but survived and then sued.

Even though the judge already said that was not allowable, the prosecutors claim the defense “opened the door” on that. If the judge let’s that in, my guess it is game over.

GDP, I love your plan….good stuff bro! 😉

    • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

Is that the only response you were looking for? LOL…Wallace stuff is all just conjecture at this point. Really doesn’t matter what your or anyone else’s plan for him was/is, because we simply don’t know where the team stands with him. I’m encouraged by Tannehill’s comments today on it, but also won’t be shocked, or question it in anyway, if they send him packing.

Nobody on this blog as far as I’ve seen has ever doubted that he’s a talented WR. If he can be a good team mate and not get disgruntled during one of the greatest seasons of his career again next year, more power to him.

  47. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I don’t get why a HC would tell a player, especially one of Andre Johnson’s stature, that he’s only going to get half the amount of targets any particular year. It seems antagonistic at this point in time, without knowing who is doing what, and who is even on the roster and healthy.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Silly Tim says:

Maybe O’Brien has a queasy feeling about Johnson. 😉

    • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

I don’t either. On the subject of him somehow being “disgruntled” well, he’s had a very very long and prolific NFL career, and for the most part has been one of the most model citizen WRs in the league. Him not wanting to resign himself to 40 catches a year or a role as a backup isn’t exactly sour grapes, it’s just a player who knows what he can do and knows he doesn’t have time to take backseats.

I think he’d be an ideal model for the young guys. Wallace, well, I’m not convinced of the same with him.

    • jetsssuck's avatar jetsssuck says:

its the offensive system—the qb goes through progressions of 1st, 2nd or 3rd. 3rd receiver could be wide open all game but unless the qb goes through all his progressions then he will never get thrown to. They (fins)used this system last year because of weak OL or qb .

      • Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

All offenses in the NFL have QB progressions. The fins used that system because that’s what NFL offenses do.

  48. Jahndoh30's avatar jahndoh says:

That 8m per thing was just one report IIRC. I read absolutely nothing into that number and never once ascribed it any significance when wondering whether Odrick stays or not. That said, I’ve seen you shocked at contract numbers every offseason for years now. So I’ll just wait until the number comes out and sit tight while everyone scratches their head about whether he’s worth it. We already saw it happen with Clays number yesterday.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Silly Tim says:

I don’t actually worry about contract numbers unless I think it’s absurd. I just can’t see how Odrick’s performance equates that kind of money. Most people here don’t see it.

  49. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

I hope we keep wallace at this point instead of drafting someone new. It sounds like tanny and wallace cleared the air.

  50. D's avatar D says:

As a for example of defense attorney and how he was whittling down the circumstantial evidence. First and foremost was the fact than none of the text message data was allowed in court. So the part we all saw where Odin texts his sister saying he was with “NFL” around the time of death, not allowed, because since he didnt talked in code and didnt explicitly name Hernandez its hersay as to whom he was actually talking about and wasnt allowed.

Secondly, the cell phone triangulation was being torn to shreds as the defense attorney basically showed in the sprint logs multiple lines that read “pending”, meaning the primary tower in that area wasn’t the one that the phone was connected to, and after having the guy explain how that happend he basically had it so you couldnt say for sure that the cell he was connected to was actually the closest to him, therefore that his location wasnt necessarily accurate.

Thirdly, they took Odin’s sisters testimony and worked it in circles, and i caught at least two or three times where they had gotten the poor girl to answer differently to the same question just asked different. She didn’t get flustered but you could tell she wasn’t completely listening to the questions. They also brought into question her vantage point of seeing him get in the car with “someone” being different from the video so as to pretty much decouple the two from being one piece of cohesive evidence into two different pieces one being a recollection of events not fully able to be corroborated from the video.

On top of that they really set up what will be out should other avenues fail, by allowing the co-defendant (not represented by same attorney) to be somewhat implicated by the evidence therefore making Hernandez a occupant/witness and not the perpetrator.

As i said it was pretty slick how that attorney made his way through the evidence.

    ———————————–
I think they are allowing it but commentary from one of the defense attorney “experts” they had on the show was saying that they likely go for the fact that the “gun like object” even if distinguishable as a gun isn’t distinguishable as to the caliber or model, so likely remains at best circumstantial without the actual murder weapon to reference. It might be used as glue to stick a couple pieces of other circumstantial evidence together, like the spent .45 casing they have from his car, but likely that on its own wouldn’t do much to convict. Like i said the defense attorney is picking it apparent, so the prosecuting attorney got his work to do gluing all the useful ones into a conviction. Im thinking the gum might actually be the hardest piece of evidence, they have him purchasing it just prior to the murder, tey have a chewed piece of it at the scene, if they have DNA from it linking him to the gum, then they have him at that construction site after buying the gum, thats pretty solid to work off of.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

I saw the pic from that night……that thing is a handgun. And it was square like a .45 to boot. And for sure……that sixth spent shell attached to the blue gum with Aaron’s DNA is the clearest evidence. Remember Lloyd was shot six times and their were only five shell casings at the scene.

But, that’s used as a reason to belittle Wilson or diminish what he does for some reason. Wilson has a horrid WR/TE corp. A bad OL. And yes…a good RB….he and Wilson are really the only good skill players on that team. So what? He still gets it done and does what he needs to do to win games? Wilson is asked to throw less…yes, but that diesn’t mean he “does less” than QB’s who throw more.

i’m tired of the excuses. This TEAM needs to start putting up wins. This losing shit sucks.

Way better coaching in Seattle, well up until that Philbin moment when they threw the ball from the half yard line still with a TO and Lynch gashing the DL.

AND, I challenge anybody here to tell me they’d take any WR on seattle’s roster. Or, to tell me how their OL was anything but completely average to below average. Outside of QB…the ONLY thing that offense has over ours is their running back. Otherwise, Wilson carries that team. Folks are seriously not giving that kid his due. Tanny puts up stats because we throw it 600 times a season. Wilson does lots of things to win games.

The key to your statement is Wilson has an elite running back. They can run an offense in Seattle out of any formation because of Lynch. They can work PA effortlessly. I’d estimate that the number of season tix holders is at least 25,000 less than it was in the early ’90’s. And I expect another fall-off this season due to the fact that a clear majority of season ticket holders (those on the Fins side of the field) will be displaced to inferior seat locations because all seats between the 30’s on Miami’s side will be $1,000-$2,000 and up in the lower deck (and most won’t pay that much for season tix). –But perhaps I’m wrong and Ross is right and folks will flock to the expensive seats. Well that sucked driving in that shit. Snow/Ice/Rain, horrible roads and tons of traffic. My half hour commute took me 2 hours. But I used my 4WD and local roads as I knew the highways would be a cluster fuck and I heard they were.

Shortly after a British Airways flight had reached its cruising altitude,
the Captain announced: “Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your Captain.
Welcome to Flight 293, non-stop from London Heathrow to New York.
The weather ahead is good, so we should have a smooth uneventful flight. So, sit back, relax, and………OH…..MY…..GOD!”

    Silence followed.

Some moments later, the Captain came back on the intercom.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m sorry if I scared you.
While I was talking to you, a flight attendant accidentally spilled coffee in my lap.
You should see the front of my pants!”

From the back of the plane, an Irish passenger yelled,
“For the luvva Jaysus……you should see the back of mine!”

I wouldn’t trade for a RB in his 7th season. I know it was a player for player trade, but Alonso is a really good young LB (coming off an ACL injury) that likely doesn’t fit Ryan’s vaunted 3-4/46 defense with bigger players. We’ll see.

Yes and the linebacker Alonso goes to Philly.
