Jordan is a great name.
Well, between him and Suh, I guess they really do believe any kind of LB should be able to produce behind those guys. Jake Ryan, GET OVER HERE! You are the foundation of our 5th round dominance!
So Tubby comes complete with an injury history ..Definitely a Jeffy inspired pick …
OH BAT you’re so full of KOOL-AID, you eternal optimist!
ok i have said it over and over. i have no idea about these players or even to pretend to know what the gm or scouts know. but i do know this
if my firm was weak with a tax guy but strong at auditing, i am not going to start hiring auditors. i know it is a lame comparison, but come on. it just makes sense
Agree that Miami is SERIOUS about stopping the run. Gotta believe SUH will NOT let this Oklahoma fat boy loaf or goof off in practice! SUH and WAKE will get in this boys’ face if that’s what it takes!!
————–
Disappointed that Miami agreed to re-up Tannehill for $16 Million but would not give him a stud O-Lineman so he (Tanny) can perform at his best. Maybe a couple of these fifth rounders will turn into Little and Kuechenberg, but, as usual, they are going to have to SHOW ME!!
————-
PIGGY; La’el Collins says he will NOT sign with ANY team if he’s drafted after round 3. –His agent says Collins will wait and enter next year’s draft instead. — BUT I believe that’s a crock of shit!! –Sitting out a year WILL NOT get him drafted early in the 2016 draft. –I say if Miami takes a flier on him with a 5th round pick, and offers him a competitive offer, he’ll TAKE IT rather than wait until 2016. –WHAT SAY YE, boys and girls?
Not sure we can do that.
He cant enter the draft in 2016
He is an UDFA if he is not drafted
So lucky we nabbed Jumbo before he was snatched off the board in the 4th round …
He needs to drop at least 20 lbs he’s way to heavy to be effective.
STEVE: Are you familiar with Shula’s summer camp 12-minute run?? –In the early years Shula used to run WITH the players during this run. –He reportedly told a fat D-Lineman “If you let a fat old white guy like me beat you I WILL CUT YOU 5 seconds after I cross the finish line!!!!!
Bill Polian once said who the hell is Mel Kiper? That’s you answer. Teams have a GM, a scouting department and scouts deployed watching the country. Mel Kiper watches film on players and decides who he likes. Think of it that way. LOL
lol OD makes a great point. hey lets pick up the 5th year of this qb, who still has his question marks but is making great improvement. as randy says his weakness is moving in the pocket. so ok. here. lets do this guys. lets pick up his 5th year and not get him any o-line help.
When you really think about it, who are the stud OL who we can draft and plug in? We tend to look at need so much that we forget it might not be there.
There are no stud OL in this draft
I’ve been saying it for weeks
I agree with both of you. There was no one in this draft to stop the DLs we will face.
“Agree that Miami is SERIOUS about stopping the run. Gotta believe SUH will NOT let this Oklahoma fat boy loaf or goof off in practice! SUH and WAKE will get in this boys’ face if that’s what it takes!!”
OD … You don’t toss away second round picks on guys who need others to motivate them to play well. If that’s what it takes then Fatty really isn’t into it and any success will be fleeting…IMO
Don;t worry about OL guys
The plan is to let every other team take OL
And then in the 5th
we use all of our picks on OL!
LOL, I was going to post we’ll take 3 out of 4 OL in the 5th.
Apparently so, we’ll quadruple up.
Gregory to the Cowboys
We can’t grade this draft until 2017. They’re the pros. You have to trust them right now.
Ok
I like 5th round picks a lot, but I don’t expect any of them to start for us this yr, and we need someone to play OG, really the only position we can’t start the season without.
you know some where in the fins draft room. hickey is on the phone with tanny, just telling him. ‘i told you before the draft. if you want some o-line help you are going to have to send lauren down here to talk me into it’
Phillips will contribute virtually nothing and be out of the league in three years ..That’s my prediction .. Bring on the new regime …
EASE OFF the KOOL-AID, Bat!!
Don’t worry Bat, the OL will determine the regime’s fate.
Oh boy! LOL
CBS Sports evaluation:
Jordan Phillips | DT, Oklahoma
Height: 6-5 Weight: 329
This is a power player who will fit in nicely on their line next to Ndamukong Suh. I think he will be a better NFL player than he showed in college.
A
He better be
“You have to trust them right now”
Uh …Why?.
STEVE; ANSWER for you below your 9:11 post. ENJOY!!
Yes, I remember hearing something about it, most likely from you. Where’s Shula?
HOME laughing his ass off!
Cowboys lol: Hardy, Gregory… the all-sideline team
Could be a steal for them if he stays out of trouble
Coulda, shoulda, woulda…
well i for one hope they turn all those 5th round picks in to a third round selection so they can bolster the long snapper position
Dolphins LB’s are screaming HELL YEAH!
“we getting’ paid for sure”
“As a player I felt like I was kind of the best pocket presence in this draft” Phillips said. He was picked to reduce Tannys sacks. Great pick!
I liked him before the Suh signing!
So I guess I still like him?
Never thought he would go that late in the draft!!
May have been BPA?
I thought he was late first, early 2nd
Ah fuckit, when do the Clippers play 😉
“A back injury kept Phillips out for nearly all of 2013, and that has to be checked thoroughly. On film, Phillips goes too many plays and games without making an impact.
He’s a boom-or-bust player on a weekly basis. His conditioning appears suspect, as he wore down late in games despite not playing a higher snap count. His height, leverage and pad height are always a concern, and he has to learn to play with more knee bend.”
A fairly sturdy ottoman could have served the purpose …
OGs still on the board
Marpet
Tre Jackson
Jarvis Harrison
Aj Cann
Hirasu Grasu (C)
Jose Matias
BJ Finney (C)
John Miller
Artie Koundijo
Robert Meyers
Max Garcia (C)
There are plenty of OGs left
Collins?
Phillips won’t be playing NT in Miami, Suh will eat blocks freeing Phillips up to make plays or vice versa…
Whacha gonna do now Patriots OL?
why when i see that fountain do i get a woody for

Hicks
Dawson
Heeney
Alexander
Just a couple of LBs still on the board
I’d trade up for Dawson
AMEN
Well there goes Marpet
Now you guys can throw your TVs out of the window
Done. What now? Burned my coach too for insurance.
porch bench
burn it!
Lol!
Philips was a first round projection for most the yeah. He has talent and when I was looking at DTs was one of if not my favorite very close with he and malcom brown. I just didn’t feel DT was needed this year
Bucs took Marpet

aaaahhhh, just hold like we always do and let tammy just throw to a wide open wr
No Marpet
Market is gone another OL we won’t be getting
I thought they were going to take Strong
Maybe Seattle…
GDP … His production in college was marginal at best on those occasions that he could actually summon up an effort. What leads you to believe that he will suddenly “make plays” at the NFL level?
the seahawks take a coach that will hand the ball off to the monster back
Damn piggy you are cursed lol strong pulling a seastrunk
I know
Hopefully the cheats don;t take him
What up fellas? I’m sure D-Bolt blew his load when we picked Jordan Phillips. He always liked him
Bat
You hear websites talk about 300 pounders with no motivation every year
They blow it out of proportion
Big DTs need breaks sometimes
Jordan Phillips
Strengths Massive frame with long arms. Athletic lower body for a man his size. Read-and-react two-gap nose with ability to eat space and free linebackers. Uses length effectively and was able to split double teams as season wore on. Swim move for quick wins and trips into backfield when Sooners let him penetrate. Athletic with nimble feet and pursuit speed of a man much lighter. Should be able to carry additional muscle and girth.
Weaknesses Scouts consider him a flash player who can dominate a game but will disappear during stretches. Needs to play with better knee bend and lower pad level. Loses some leverage and becomes top-heavy wrestler at times. Not effective as pass rusher. Stalls out early and settles for looking to bat down passes. Doesn’t crank up a consistent bull rush. Consistency of motor could be improved.
Draft Projection Round 1 or 2
Sources Tell Us “He has the body type and length to play in a 3-4 or 4-3 front, but there is no reason to move him from the nose. If he gets that motor going, he could be a dominant pro.” — AFC North scout
NFL Comparison Terrance Knighton
Bottom Line Nose tackle with desired height, weight and speed. Flashes talent necessary to project a ceiling as a dominant run stuffer best suited for a 3-4 defense. Phillips’ ability to eat up blocks should help him earn a high grade, but it’s his potential as a big athlete with above-average range for the position that could turn him into a Pro Bowl nose.
One reason to move him from the nose is if your team doesn’t play a 3/4. Lol…
You can have a NT in a 4-3.
I like how everyone pretends our OL play didn’t improve last year even with the Albert injury. We get Albert back healthy, a 2nd year in the system under Benton and we can easily still draft a couple of guys to compete with Thomas. There will be veteran cuts, and like it or not some of us think Turner has what it takes..and the staff might too.
Let it play out. I admit, DL is a headscratcher, but in the end, it was the main reason we didn’t make the playoffs for two consecutive years, and I said that long before this offseason. You win the AFC East by putting Brady on his back. Period. (lol! Exclamation mark!)
(piggy nods in agreement)
(parenthesis)
I feel real confident in Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner. I also feel real confident in Obama.
Non-sequitir, doesn’t matter how you feel about Thomas and Turner. Besides, most folks here are ridiculously biased against these two guys IMHO. I trust very few of you to look at it with any objectivity. Especially with Turner. He could still be a stud, and I’m holding out that hope. Thomas wasn’t nearly as bad last year as folks made him out to be, but since he wasn’t a probowler to offset his rookie campaign, nobody bothered changing their minds.
that is a shock there the pats taking a safety in the second round. i would have bet my house they would have taken a ball boy out of usf who is known for deflating a football without getting caught
Piggy …Let someone else give the fat fucks a break ..I HATE fuckin’ projects in the 2nd round ..This POS has bust written all over his ample rump.
He’s not a project
He is big run stuffer
That is what he is
He’s probably a two down guy
I think he is what he already is
We don;t need him to be anything else but a run stuffer on early downs
teams ran all over us last season at the end of the season
That’s why we missed the playoffs
Jahn nods in agreement.
I forgot to mention Ramik Wilson
Jordan Phillips can do standing backflips
I hope he can play f’n OG too.
in full football gear. I heard the guy is a freak but needs more stamina and dedication to his craft. One of the commentators said he was top 10 in terms of athletic abilities.
If he can do a standing backflip in full pads at that size, it’s a fact. How many here have ever been able to do a standing backflip (Jahn raises his hand knowing full well he couldn’t do it in pads and with 140 fewer pounds to lift off the ground).
There goes OD’s guy
Fau off the biard
are they shaving?
“Jordan Phillips can do standing backflips”
Awesome .. Ross can have him do fat boy acrobat shows for all his C list celebrity pals at Club Liv
LOL
Ross shows up at a party
“Hey Fergie come here…want to see my chubby do back flips”
Fergie slaps Ross, then, after a pause, helps him take off his pants
I was thinking earlier how I missed you, but I realized…meh…lol…
Jahn
It doesn’t matter how I feel now about Thomas and Turner, or by game 10 when we’re out of the playoffs, but that doesn’t make them any better.
I think we missed the playoffs last season based on our run defense
and Phillips directly addresses that
Oh, it wasn’t because we couldn’t block and score points? How many points did we score against the Ravens and the Patriots with the playoffs on the line. Don’t bother looking, 14 and 13 respectively
How’d we do overall on scoring? 11th in the league.
I reject your negative forward looking statement. Throw in the towel if you like. I’m still very optimistic about this team. It’s a single fuckin’ draft pick of a player who was projected well within the range we too him.
Our DL play isn’t going to be the reason we miss the playoffs last year. You can assume the OL will be, but they are on an upward arc, not downward. In case you missed it.
lol the rays win 2-0 as the visiting team at the tropic in st. pete. lol way to go balt. riot some more.
Bat, Phillips will be a 3rd or 4th DT in our rotation. Suh and Mitchell start then probably Johnson and Phillips. We’re not asking him to be the workhorse but play 12-18 snaps PG and some STs as he learns how to be a pro. You’re rooting for the worst. LOL
He has talent.
For the record I picked Jordan Phillips to some team (don’t remember which team) in the late 1st round in our blog mock. I even asked Piggy why he was no longer an option.
For us I think this was purely BPA and upside. If he goes bad we bust. Not the end of the world for his upside at #52. At 6-5 330, 5.17, 28 reps of 225 and good mobility is sick. There aren’t many guys like him walking the planet. LOL
We’re also focused on our division.
I guess when philbin told Ross we missed the playoffs because we couldn’t stop the run he meant it. Suh and now Phillips
Starks and Odrick are gone.
It goes back to moving on from some of the old guard that were part of mediocre seasons. We can’t really blame the team from trying. 🙂
“I think he is what he already is
We don;t need him to be anything else but a run stuffer on early downs”
A clever coach may figure out that he can throw the ball at will while tubby is in there just taking up space .. A really clever coach…
Said clever coach is a dumbass if he thinks that Suh can’t still penetrate or that Vernon or Wake can take off their QBs head. Have at it clever coach. By all means. LOL…
The problem with not having a 3rd is that we might miss the run at OGs
Marpet and now Cann are gone
Tre Jackson and Jose Matias watch begins
Well it’s not a phin’s draft unless we screw the pooch but at least we waited till the second round. We missed out on a lot of good LBs and perhaps the 2 best fits for our OL in this draft. I feel like Colon Pokey has shown up and sodomized us all again
“I feel real confident in Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner. I also feel real confident in Obama.”
LMFAO!!!!!!
Tim ..You don’t waste second round picks on lazy, unmotivated rotation guys ..That’s what 6th and 7th’s are for ….
Good thing we didn’t. He’s not a rotation guy either…anymore than every other one of our DL is, because that’s what we do, rotate them all.
Alright I have had enough for one night I am out peace to you all
Jahn .LOL ….You should have seen me earlier ..I was giddy with joy at the Parker pick ..This bullshit totally took the wind out of my sails …
I couldn’t tell. lol…
You can’t grade any draft until after a couple of years. How do you know right now that he’s a bad pick. He could be a stud.
Clive Walford Still on the clock too
Shit!
Nice win for the Mets. Harvey dominant again with no runs over 7.
Jahn
Why are they on an upward arc? If ALbert is out, this line is less than mediocre. Explain to me why they’re better, when they were awful down the stretch without Albert.
Look at the 2014 stats and the 2015 stats. Then tell me how stats don’t matter. lol….
I know we scored 14 and 13 points against the ravens and Patriots, and Tannehill ate as much grass as a grazing cow during those games.
Tell me what happened the game before that. Tell me how many games we needed to win in that stretch?
Without taking anything away from Phillips abilities, I think oline would have been a better pick.
Jahn .. The clever coach recognizes a three man rush when he sees it …He’ll take his chances …lol
The clever coach doesn’t know what down it is than. lol…because run stuffing isn’t the goal on 3 man formations.
fuck you sorrow pussy biaches. i got 4 months till i have to watch tanny on his back. i am on the jahn bandwagon. at least he is right about it now. fuck it why be a piss head all summer. this team is going 16-0 with giving up a record setting 182 sacks.
I told you a gazillion times to stop exaggerating.

boulder, i so agree, why i was just having some fun jumping on jahn’s bandwagon. no one of us knows what these guys will do. i am sure a lot of pats fans were bitching belicheat took a qb in the 6th round. no need to be all pissy all summer over what we wont know about for 3 years.
Lol. Totally agree. no one really knows, right now
Maybe we really like some good late round oline people
(Piggy Bows)
Great pick for them in the 3rd
Lol @ “grazing cow”!
Well he didn’t go undrafted piggy
Weeeeeeeeeee
Jahn ..When I said three man rush it was because Phillips is useless as a pass rusher ..not an actual three man set..
Jahn, 6 sacks against BAL, and 4 against a less than stellar NE defense, and those 2 games essentially eliminated us from the playoffs. Do I tell a fib?
Why would I let you cherry pick weeks 13 and 15 and not talk about week 17 when we gave up 37 to the Jets? Or week 16 when we gave up 35 to the Vikes, and oh by the way STILL WON.
Mike,
That was actually a really good defense last year. Also, we didnt have Albert by that point which did hurt our OL.
The real problem is that none of the OG drafted so far would really be a huge upgrade against the dominant DLs we will be facing. We need a better gameplan than just drafting a new guy and feeding him to the wolves.
I think I am going to become a Texans fan
Now they have Hopkins and Strong
My two favorite Samuria
Whenever you misspell that, I always think of Brooklyn and the many Salumerias. lol
Texans finally get Strong… a round later than believed it would happen
I thiught they would get him in the 2nd too
Last Samurai gone

ok, so they will be 15-1 and only 118 sacks
Better, damn it.
Tre Jackson is a better OG than Jake Fisher
— signed Pigsgerald
I see that a couple games are being cherry picked, and those games certainly didn’t have stellar offensive outputs, but how many did we need to win to make the playoffs? What about beating the Jets in week 17? How many points did the OL give up that week?
37.
Oline was fine until Albert went down. I hope they account for that going into next yesr
One thing is for sure. Tomorrow will be exciting 🙂

hey…..HEY! i dont make fun of your dates i think it is fair to not make fun of mine either.
Is it just me or does Mayock seem totally disconnected from the rest of the panel.
As long as Goodell stands at the podium with a cute kid or a puppy, he won’t be booed
I should have known this team would pull the rug out from under us after the elation of the Parker pick … A lazy fat guy with a bad back …I’m so happy …
’37.’
the same number of sacks they will give up in week one.
Piggy… watching draft with some Texans fans here.. they are giddy and cannot believe their luck getting Strong in 3rd. They were pissed after the 2nd round. Losing Johnson was like Phins when Marino retired…. Johnson was THE man for Texan fans. They were drooling for Strong in the 2nd
They need a QB
They have my 2 favorite WRs of the last couple of years now
But they need a QB
At least their WRs are scrappy and will fight for the ball
Could they have given that girl a harder name to pronounce?
Jahn
I really, truly didn’t cherry pick. After the Ravens loss and Patriots loss, we were eliminated from the playoffs.
That’s impossible. Those games had a game in between them.

wait wait wait. i dont even have an agent. you mean i could have been on tv. fuck i wasnt even invited to the draft damn it, i knew i should have bought a suit.
I actually agree with ya Boulder. I thought OL would be the pick, but who? I had just heard on NFL radio that Fisher was dropping on a medical. I had heard on this board any other possible candidates right there were not a scheme fit.
I was puzzled by DL as well, but in the end, if I’m forced to answer the question: Why did we collapse down the stretch, I think it was the defense. Clearly the guys who’s jobs are on the line felt the same I guess. Nothing I can do about it anyway. Just gotta let it play out.
Agreed. It was not stopping the run that killed us. It was a joke. That’s why I wanted coyle gone. I guess they thought it was talent. Not coaching
With the 115th pick in the NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select La’el Collins, OT LSU
Its not a bad idea
But right now Tre Jackson is on the board
Raiders have gotten some serious talent in this draft. Maybe they can hit that elusive 8-8?
Don;t ever insult bleacher report again
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2338481-why-the-miami-dolphins-absolutely-must-draft-jordan-phillips
jahn,
dont you know every one here, every single one of us knows more then the fins front office. i mean with out full time jobs and all and all we have to do in out lives we know way more then the guys that do it for a living.
just like willing to bet you hickey can brew a better beer then you.
Jahn – Game 14 was BAL, Game 15 was NE.
http://www.miamidolphins.com/team/season-schedule.html
Still, either A) we were eliminated after week 14, or B) we were eliminated after week 15.
Something has to give. I don’t honestly remember, but you can’t be eliminated twice.
What about getting a win against Denver? How many yards rushing did the OL give up in that one? How about getting a win against GB? How long of a drive did the OL give up when Rodgers won the game?
Maybe we drafted the lazy, unmotivated Phillips to fill the void left by the loss of the lazy, unmotivated Dion Jordan … It really was a need after all …
