GAME 13: DEC. 10, 1972 – MIAMI at NEW YORK GIANTS
The New York Football Giants were founded in 1925 by original owner Tim Mara with an investment of $500. Mara installed the word “Football” in the team’s legal name to differentiate them from the older, established, baseball Giants. Both Giants teams played at the Polo Grounds. The Football Giants went 11-1-1 in 1927, securing their first NFL Championship. Following the 1929 season, Tim Mara transferred ownership of the team to his two sons to insulate the team from creditors. At the time, Jack and Wellington Mara were ages 22 and 14, respectively. Steve Owen became the Giants head coach in 1931. From 1931 to 1948 the Giants won 8 divisional titles and 2 NFL Championships (1934 and
1938). Jim Lee Howell replaced Howell in 1954. In 1956, the Giants, playing their home games in Yankee Stadium for the first time, dominated the Chicago Bears 47-7 in the NFL Championship Game. For that game, played in icy conditions, the Giants wore sneakers, just as they had back in 1934 when they defeated the Bears in THAT title game. The 1956 team included future Hall-of-Famers Frank Gifford, Sam Huff and Roosevelt Brown. The Giants coordinators were Tom Landry (defense) and Vince Lombardi (offense). In 1958, the Giants lost an overtime classic to the Baltimore Colts in a title game some refer to as “The Greatest Game Ever Played.” The following season, under new coach Allie Sherman, New York lost again to the Colts 31-16. From 1961 through 1963 the Giants would lose three straight NFL Championship games. Overall, from 1927 through 1963, the Giants were in an amazing 14 NFL title games, winning 4 and losing 10.
The 1970 Giants squad started 0-3 but rebounded to finish 9-5, narrowly missing the playoffs. In 1971, injured star running back Ron Johnson missed most of the season and the team slumped to 4-10. The Giants traded quarterback Fran Tarkenton back to Minnesota for QB Norm Snead. Snead would have his best season as a professional in 1972, leading the NFL in completion percentage. Running back Ron Johnson, back from injury, set an all-time Giants record by rushing for 1182 yards in 1972.
Head Coach Don Shula understandably was concerned about facing this very strong Giants team on the road. Just two weeks ago, the Giants had destroyed the Philadelphia Eagles 62-10!! Shula and defensive coordinator Bill Arnsparger agreed that forcing turnovers would be one way to slow down the Giants’ scoring machine. In practice sessions, the defense practiced stripping the ball away and forcing fumbles with big hits. And defensive backs were urged to play for the interception. On offense, Shula got some good news. All-Pro receiver Paul Warfield’s arch injury was significantly better. Warfield, who had caught only one touchdown pass all season, was determined to be at his best in this, the next-to-last regular season game of the year.
A huge contingent of New York media members were present to see if the Giants could end Miami’s dream of a Perfect Season. Even a few hundred Jet fans bought tickets to this game hoping to witness a Dolphins’ defeat.
Sharp passing by Norm Snead keyed the Giants’ first drive. Ron Johnson’s 1-yard touchdown run gave New York an early 6-0 lead. Pete Gogolak’s PAT was no good. Miami responded with a very impressive 80-yard march. Mercury Morris ended the drive when he scampered around the corner, stayed in bounds, and scored from 12 yards out. Yepremian’s extra point gave Miami a 7-6 lead. Later in the opening stanza, a crunching hit by Mike Kolen led to a fumble recovery by Doug Swift. Garo Yepremian’s 37-yard field goal put the Dolphins ahead 10-6 at the end of the first quarter.
Another Giants turnover gave Miami the ball in the second quarter. On 3rd and 9 from the New York 34, everyone knew a pass was coming. Warfield, the likely target, drew double coverage. After blowing by Willie Williams, Warfield put an all-world move on Spider Lockhart and blew by him just as Earl Morrall released a perfect deep pass. Warfield caught the ball in stride and scored a most impressive touchdown! Miami now had a solid 17-6 lead. The Giants desperately wanted to score before halftime. Another impressive drive led by Norm Snead got the ball deep in the Dolphins’ end of the field. Ron Johnson’s second one-yard touchdown run pulled New York to within 17-13 at halftime.
Continued steady rains turned an already messy field into a second half quagmire. Temperatures were in the 40’s and it was windy. The hard-hitting Dolphins’ defense, combined with very sloppy conditions, produced SIX GIANTS’ TURNOVERS! At the end of the third quarter, the score remained 17-13, Miami. Giants’ (and Jets’) fans knew that one big play could turn this game completely around. Emphasizing the run, Morrall drove Miami down the field in the final quarter. Some nice runs by Morris put Yepremian in position for a 31-yard field goal attempt in the slop. Garo’s kick was GOOD!! Miami had a 20-13 lead. New York’s sixth and final turnover set up Miami inside Giant’s territory. Yepremian’s chip-shot field goal CLINCHED a 23-13 victory for the wet, tired, but very happy Miami Dolphins! On the day, Miami rushed for 204 yards on 41 carries (a 5.0 average) and passed for 171 yards (132 of them to Warfield). The six turnovers produced by the “No Name Defense” were the key factor in holding the high-scoring Giants’ to just 13 points.
In seven days, the Miami Dolphins would have a date with destiny in the historic Orange Bowl. The entire nation would be watching their final regular season game against the Colts.
The 1972 Miami Dolphins were now 13-0.

Wow fuckin Kraft is still denying it. He says I told you they won’t find anything. Is he blind?
He knows his team has cheated and doesn’t want their image tarnished so he lies as well.
Maybe he was commenting that he knew they wouldnt find anything involving him…. thats way i take that statement.
No he got into all the science BS that Belichick tried to pull off.
Cheatriot nation is in total denial and delusional spin mode … It is hilarious reading some of the excuses/explainations/justifications coming from these imbeciles … A shame nothing will come of it since Kraft’s personal gimp is dispensing “justice” …
The comments from patriots fans Cracking me up
Nothing to hide here …LMAO
“Patriots owner Robert Kraft promised his full cooperation with the Ted Wells investigation.
What Wells found from the Patriots was something that falls well below the threshold of full.
The Wells report said that the Patriots refused to make officials locker room attendant Jim McNally available for a follow-up interview which was requested, “despite our offer to meet at any time and location that would be convenient for McNally.”
The report said Patriots counsel apparently didn’t inform McNally of the request, and that the refusal “violated the club‟s obligations to cooperate with the investigation under the Policy on Integrity of the Game & Enforcement of League Rules and was inconsistent with public statements made by the Patriots pledging full cooperation with the investigation.”
That sets the stage for some significant punishment for the team, which began this process with bluster, demanding an apology from the league if no evidence was found.
The team wasn’t alone playing keep-away, as quarterback Tom Brady refused to provide text messages and e-mails “even though those requests were limited to the subject matter of our investigation” which means they weren’t just looking for cell phone pics of Gisele Bundchen.
The report also concluded that the Patriots “questioned the integrity and objectivity of game officials, various NFL executives and certain NFL Security representatives present at the AFC Championship Game or otherwise involved in the investigative process.”
That’s not surprising. People put on the defensive act defensively. But the team that boasted about full cooperation then refused to cooperate fully, and that’s something the organization will likely answer for soon.”
if they don’t get some sort of suspension then I’m done with NFL. This is bullshit. the saints got their coach suspended for a whole year.
Because they felt there was no way he couldn’t have known his DC was calling for bounties. The same thing goes here.

Jahn,
Agree that performance pay outweighs playoff pay but consider the compensation. It’s not unreasonable that Collins can win a starting job on Seattle OL. They drafted OL this year because they need OL help inside and their state is tax free as in Florida.
But going back to the tax situation, it’s rather complex but researching it, it seems that the difference between playing in a non-income tax state such as Florida and an income tax state such as NJ (where Giants are located) may not be that great for lower end salaried players.
From Bankrate.com discussing income taxes on pro athletes:
“Jock tax” assessments to players by away-game jurisdictions are credited back to the player in their state of residence but only to the maximum rate in their home state. Players who live in the nine states without state income tax (Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Texas, South Dakota, Washington and Wyoming) pay full fare on “jock tax” assessments, Raiola says.
Taxes — or the lack of them — may also have had something to do with NBA all-star and 2010 free agent LeBron James’ choice to play for the Miami Heat instead of the New York Knicks. Losi points to Florida’s lack of a state income tax.
“That may have been one of the factors that led LeBron to choose Florida versus New York,” says Losi. “Ten percent of his first contract was going to be the difference. For him, it was an extra 5 (percent to) 9 percent difference in tax. That’s real money.”
But Raiola says what works for a megastar such as LeBron may not be the best move for journeymen players…..
“If you live in Florida, the taxes you pay to those other states is really taking money out of your pocket because you’re not going to get a credit for those state taxes,” he says. “If you live in a nontax state, you could easily end up paying state tax on 60 (percent) to 65 percent of your earned income from the team, even though you don’t have a tax in the state you reside in.”……
Professional golfers, tennis players and other athletes who compete on the world stage often leave a third or more of their earnings in the local coffers.
“Whenever they play in foreign countries, they have to pay taxes in that jurisdiction, and the tax liability is much bigger than the 5 (percent) to 10 percent state tax. It’s usually in the 30 (percent) to 40 percent bracket,” says Losi. “Usually it’s withheld in their prize money, and they can file a nonresident return if they think they might have a refund coming.”

Sucks for those Fins & Jag players who may have to give up nearly 50% of their 1 game pay when they play in the UK.
Kraft and Goodell feverishly trying to figure out how to blame this on Aaron Hernandez …
LOL, as they lie in bed feeding each other grapes.
Man Lesean McCoy hates buffalo lol. He still pissy about being traded no matter how hard he tries to play it off, he’s hating it lol.
Someone should tweet him as ask how’s the igloo coming along and have you put your dog sled team together yet? Mush!!! LOL

Awesome, maybe the smell of whiney bitch has washed out.
Haha! Let’s hope so!
Tom Brady Sr. has determined that his son was framed …That should be enough for Goodell to dismiss the report and have Wells get to work tracking down the conspirators who would tarnish Tommy’s legacy.
Brady Sr. also accused the league of disregarding overwhelming scientific evidence and constantly “badgering” the poor Cheatriots …Looks like Tommy’s dad is losing it …lol
Faux science he means. LOL
D
What makes you think McCoy hates Buffalo?
because he seems really mad he got traded to the bills. OR are you being sarcastic?
I’m not being sarcastic

Yeah because he is still at Kelley with ridiculous statements liek Kelley hates black players. There was some statistics i just saw regarding it. It showed that this offseason period, 7 black players have left the team while 8 have joined, 4 white players have left and only three been added, also during draft, he drafted 5 black players of the 6 picks they had. I think McCoy is still made at him for trading him, and if you havent spent time in Buffalo then you are missing out on the rest of why im saying he hates Buffalo, though that part it more purely my opinion lol.
Okay
I get it
I thought it was something a little more straightforward like a statement from McCoy stating “I hate Buffalo”…lol
Belichick needs to face a suspension. There is zero chance he knew nothing. They should both face a suspension, though i read where some Dolphins fans were calling for an 8 game thing….i mean come on, be realistic. 2 games for Brady as a first time violator, 6 games for Belichick since he has spygate also on his resume, fine the team and take away a pick next year. Im kinda glad the pick didnt come this year because it wouldnt have hurt a bit, they had like 2000 picks.
Sean Payton for a season.
Its really unprecedented
I don;t see why we say any suspension is realistic or not
What are we basing that on?
spygate vs bountygate vs bullygate
the only one that involved cheating to gain an advanatage was spygate
so maybe simliiar results are “realistic”
but it happens to be the same team that got caught
we can probably say what we think is appropriate or not
I think its appropriate for the NFL to come down hard b/c its cheating and the integrity of the league is paramount
“In the weeks and months before the AFC Championship Game, McNally periodically exchanged text messages with the Patriots equipment assistant primarily responsible for the preparation of the Patriots game balls, John Jastremski. In a number of those text messages, McNally and Jastremski discussed the air pressure of Patriots game balls, Tom Brady’s unhappiness with the inflation level of Patriots game balls, Jastremski’s plan to provide McNally with a “needle” for use by McNally, and McNally’s requests for “cash” and sneakers together with the “needle” to be provided by Jastremski.”
Thank you Ted Wells…..nice to have you on our side this time.
Not sure what round, but I’m smelling a draft pick less for the Pats in 2016.
Just a draft pick for cheating int he AFC championship game
That is a question?
Stanger
Are you quoting from the Wells report?
bc those last couple of lines are pretty dubious
I kind of think this is a bigger deal than spygate
I was quoting from an article that had a pull out quote that seemed from the report. But admittedly could have been something from other than the actual report.
its a bit over the top
if true – its outrageous
They got the ball equipment guys pegged cold at least. Q is how far upstream they can go. It is sorta like the Watergate break-in.

The Eagles have joined the Bears and Buccaneers as teams that have started signing members of their 2015 draft class less than a week after the draft got underway.
The team announced Wednesday that they have signed second-round defensive back Eric Rowe, sixth-round cornerback Randall Evans and seventh-round defensive end Brian Mihalik to four-year contracts.

Just finished tomorrows article. Man, I’m tired!
were you jogging as you wrote it….lol
I wish I was, that would have killed two birds with one stone.
This is for you Piggy
Piggy i was basing my punishment scenarios off precedent. Tom Brady has never been accused of anything prior to this, be it that the league has coverd up anything or what he still has never faced suspicion from the league before, and since the infraction is something that gives him a clear advantage over other players the idea of applying the closes thing to that (PED infraction) seems to be the best to base it off of, since their reasoning behind making PED’s illegal is it gives an unfair advantage to that player. First infraction is a min 2 game suspension.
As for Belichick, this is a second infraction/punishment from the NFL. Sean Payton as a precedent of the maximum suspension delivered for a coaches involvement led me to start there and remove some from the severity of the suspension since he wasnt paying players to hurt other players which to me is a very extreme violation. Considering its his second time, and both violations were moderate in nature, i think suspension should fit it and be 6-8 games, again if they actually pin anything to him.
Im not stating this is what they will do but rather if they want to be fair, this is the range they should loo at to reamin somewhat inline with other penalties they have dished out in the past. I know Bountygate didnt affect one of our divisions team but thats no reason not to call it our for being a horrible violation so it should be expected that Belichick shouldn’t face same suspension, but it should be enough to also make it clear there is no one off limits. Also technically Sean Payton had been warned once by the NFL as it was reported to the NFL that was going on prior to them doing anything about it and New Orleans was warned to make sure it stopped, it didnt and they laid the lumber on them.
I meant to say precedent of relocatable scenarios
relative
Tom Brady murdered 12 footballs, then refused to turn over his phone due to incriminating evidence. hmmm, the “patriot way” has a pattern.
He learned from the best evil genius there is. 🙂
Miami had to watch nearly every article for the last year mention “bullygate” or “locker room problems” or “the coach should know”… yet with cheaters and murderers on the team the Pats won’t have to hear any of this.
The NFL is truly a middle school mentality: the A student gets away with things that cause a D student to get punished for…. because people will line up to make excuses for you. Goodell is Kraft/Belicheat/Brady’s “helicopter mom”!!
Oh why why Manti…………….
How’s he doing, btw? I seem to remember someone singing his praises as if he were the second coming of Touch Down Jesus, himself…
And after the deflategate report came out what was a headline in the Boston Globe?…….”The lesson of Deflategate: Don’t save your texts.”
If only they’d put that one out before Hernandez got caught.
Yeah, lesson learned for a cheater. I wouldn’t doubt that they have a document called lesson’s learned.
The Pats are a good team but I’m tired of their shenanigans and I have lost total respect for them and what they’ve accomplished. I want us to knock them off so bad.
It’s time for them to toil in the AFC East basement for a decade or so. FUCK ‘ EM!!!
Agreed!
That’s why I refuse to refer to them as anything but the cheats.
Stop it Tim, quit giving the cheats credit for anything.
Goodall’s punishment for Brady: a one year suspension (to begin immediately following Brady’s retirement at a future date of his choosing)
LOL at my spelling of the commish’s name:

In the Shadow of Man was a phenomenal book.
After reading the report posted above about the cheats fumble rate compared to the rest of the league Brady should be suspended for the year. We keep hearing how minimal these things are that they cheat at, but I think all those little things added together are huge. I still think they’re video taping other teams in some fashion. What I don’t understand is why disgruntled ex-cheats haven’t come forward.
see picture of the real ‘owner’ in my below post… 🙂
Spygate, second mic in helmet, deflategate, murderers… who’s running this team?
And that doesn’t even account for all the calls they get, snowbowl…
Let’s begin a campaign to have the home team in all cheats away games to boo the entire game when the cheats O is on the field.

“You guys didn’t like Vegas judgment last night, how about today?”
You still think Vegas is exercising “judgement”? They are merely trying to keep the gambling orderly and as even as possible on both sides. They live off the vig. The line exists merely to entice bettors on the long-odds side to step up to the plate.
BTW, they do that for any event that causes a sharp change in betting patterns. It’s security, little more.
No I didn’t see that Steve. Boxing..going out the way it came in..shady business. 🙂
Did you see the lines for the fight last weekend? Mayweather -225 Pac +175, the books must’ve made a killing with a vig like that.
I didn’t hear how they did, but I’d imagine it was pretty good since the line came down closer to the fight meaning more money was being bet on Pac.
Just gonna throw this out there. If the report doesn’t implicate Belichick, Goodell, won’t and (in my mind) shouldn’t punish him. The report implicated Brady and the equipment guys. An easily hidden conspiracy, whereas historical infractions like Spygate and Bountygate were clear examples of institutionalized infractions. I suspect if there were Wells Reports in those cases (I really don’t know if there were tbh) he would most definitely have implicated the HCs.
This will be seen as a smaller conspiracy involving just a couple of people and treated as such.
Just sayin’ don’t shoot the messenger, I hate those guys as much as you all do and would love to see the entire franchise disbanded. 🙂
yeah…..you are wrong. LOL
Or not.
Bellicheck should be suspended for a year. Sean Peyton got suspended for a year for “not knowing” about bounty gate. Bellicheat get’s caught cheating for the SECOND time he better get suspended. He is NOT innocent! That mother fucker better be disciplined hard! we, the fans, need to make it clear to Goodall that there will be repercussions against the league if he doesn’t suspend Brady AND Bellicheat.
We need to take to twitter or what ever #boycottTheNFL #SuspendBellicheat
I agree it’s getting to that point. Enough of one team always pushing the envelope.
#BoycottTheNFL
#SuspendBrady
#SuspendBellicheat
What I don’t get is how the rest of the owners in the league could stand by and allow the cheats to cheat like they do. Do they just not give an F, because they’re making money? Also, how do they let them get away with all the calls they get? Every time I listen to sports radio guys around the country are talking about the cheats cheating and getting all the calls. Someone needs to take a stand.
Here is the punishment that should be doled out.
Brady should have his knee cap broken, oh, wait both kneecaps.
Belichick should be suspended for the season. (meaning he can’t work on next year’s draft either) no contact with team
Kraft should give up 2 first round picks and pay a 10Million dollar fine for allowing behavior that brings into question the validity of the title……
Fuck they cheated to get there MORE Than once. They should strip the Superbowl title for spygate and deflategate.
We can’t change history but they can add an asterisk like what will happen with the Baseball HOF due to the juicing era.
#Boycott
^^this is all the league will listen to.
But nobody will boycott, and like every other year in the past decade, next years’ numbers will be better. Do what you want, but you’re wasting your time.
I was telling everyone before the superbowl that if brady wins this one I agree that he’s the best ever. But now I have to go back to joe montana. He never cheated and he never lost in a superbowl.
I think the Dolphin fandom on this blog is really pumping the outrage level. I’m more pissed about the “Illegally batted ball” and the botched call on the Big Ben fumble than I am about this.
I think Brady and the equipment guys (one or both of them) were in on it, and should be punished. I think it’s absolutely witch hunting to expect someone not blamed by the Wells report to get punished. But hey, if it happens, I won’t shed a tear.
they have to all be punished. I think this has been going on with the pats for a while. The whole fumble stat proves that. But I doubt anything happens to belicheat.
I hope brady gets a few games suspension. He cheated. When players smoke pot they get 4 games. he should get at least that. I consider this a lot worst than smoking pot.
I think the fumble stats lend very strong evidence for sure. I just think if the report doesn’t implicate Belicheat, there’s no way in hell Goodell is going to sanction him. I’d love to be wrong!
I think it’s a pattern of behavior from both the Pats and the league. Yeah I do think they’re in cahoots. It’s good for the league to have certain people be successful, it makes money. Goodell’s primary job is to make the league/owners money. He does that. The integrity of the game is secondary and it’s become pretty clear to me.
I’m not a witch hunt guy but man when does it stop with this team?
we’ve had plenty of calls against us that were suspect when playing the pats. So yea I agree that the league wants brady to do well. He brings in the money.
FUCK I want to sign up for twitter just to tweet

The Pats are a good team but I’m tired of their shenanigans
how do you know that. every time they have won a SB there has been a cheating scandal. so what, they have a winning record but they cheat to get it. so how does that make them a good team. one can say their cheating didnt really give them an advantage but they cheated. they obviously did it for a reason, they obviously thought it gave them an advantage so who is one to say it didnt. bottom line simply put is they are cheaters, nothing they do has any merit.
Tim,
I get and identify with your level of “fed-up”. I was just interjecting a little reality into it in that, no matter how much I hate him, or believe he’s a chronic cheater, I know Goodell can’t come down on Belicheat without the Wells report implicating him somehow, and it didn’t.
That’s not true, he can come down on Belicheat, and he may have to, if he gets enough flack. Should we start burning and pillaging downtown Boston, to get the ball rolling 😉
Jahn, Bellicheat earned the knickname for a reason. HE nurtures a culture that allows and even rewards “creative” ways to gain advantage.
Peyton got a year for not knowing the bounties were going on under his watch. Bellicheat has been at the wheel when the patriots have embarrassed the league multiple times. The other owners need to make it clear to Goodall who works for ONLY those 32 entities.
Peyton knew, and he helped cover it up when the league did a followup to their first investigation.
I think a couple of you are thinking you have to convince me to root for Belichick to get punished, but you don’t. I already root for that. I just don’t think it’s going to happen in this case.
I haven’t read the Wells report myself, but if it doesn’t implicate Belichick, what makes you guys think Goodell is going to punish him? It’s tilting at windmills.
read an article on msn and got to love cheats fan response in the comments to any one saying something negative
‘you must be a blah blah fan’
‘you didnt read the article’
‘your just jealous’
it is like they are all in the second grade
They don’t care that the team cheats, they only care about winning.
Rock ready to go all “HOME” on us 😉
Whooooooaaaaaaaaaa! I will now refrain from posting for a few days just to make sure that doesn’t happen. LOL
The Pats make Bullygate look like small potatoes but look how much flack our team got? The Pats get shrugs and smirks. It’s fuckin obvious and I’m not eh okay with it anymore.
The Pat’s have also fumbled less than any other team in the league. I MIGHT be because this IS NOT THE FIRST TIME the cheatriots have deflated the balls…
Those locker room attendants jut thought to themselves that this one time it would be a good idea to let some air out?
I KNOW I am a Dolphins homer, no argument, but I think if I was a European Futbol fan and new nothing of the NFL I would think that unlikely.
I realize noone will boycott, I certainly won’t give up my ritual of worshiping the Dolphins because the Pats get preferential treatment. But the threat will be more embarrassing to the league which MIGHT spur stronger action from the front office. “Jeeze Bob, what can I do? I thought you had Wells under control.”
They say for every time someone gets a DUI they’ve driven 93 times intoxicated without being caught. How many games have the cheats played since the start of 2007?
Jahn
I think there is a culture of pushing these lines with the patriots
They are a team that will do anything to win, without regard for the game
Spygate and inflate gate are the obvious examples
But their offense relies on picks or “rubs” that would have been illegal a decade ago
Their OL holds a lot more offense than they get called for
They’ve been penalized for an illegal formation in blocking fgs which required the jests to send tape to the NFL for it to be called – and they did it again afterwards
The drive in that Baltimore game which was legal at the time was made illegal this offseason, bc it’s such a disadvantage to the defense. Now one has ever made a receiver inelligble, the officials screwed up announcing it and he cheats exploited it
We should be outraged about the patriots cheating
They have been doing it for more than a decade
It’s just not football at some point – and it poor sportsmanship and lack of respect for the game
I’ve had enough of it
The reason people are outraged is bc they beleive there are so many other examples the cheats get away with it
It’s just the way that organization treats the game. They will do anything, including hitting blow the belt, to win. That is what they are. Get outraged about it. It’s not good football
Bingo! Every team is trying to find the best talents on the planet and they keep winning with questionable athletically sized players.
The penalty against us when they called Vernon for deliberately pushing the ball further back was the moment for me when I said, holy shit, this is a bias call.
Enough!!!!
It’s the culture in New England now
It’s not just once, or twice
It’s not random
It’s what they do
The play against Baltimore I don’t mind. It was a creative use of a formation. It was done on the field so kudos to them for that. But it’s all this extra off the field bullshit Bellicheck does, spygate. Filming the Rams walk thru. Deflate gate. It’s a culture with the Pats and it starts with Bellichek. any advantage he can gain he will and he doesn’t care if it is against the rules.
jahn
i dont think anyone on here thinks anything will happen to belicheat or kraft, we all know goodell has proven kraft owns him. i just assume everyone is venting and wishing what will happen.
hell i dont think anyone but the two ball boys will get punished. kraftell will probably kick them out of football and ban them from living in any city with a football team then say he came down hard on the pats and kicked their two assistant ball boy managers out of football forever.
According to Kraft
Well already interviewed the guy 4 times
But according to wells, the cheats declined the interview on the 2nd request
Believe what you want
I am about 90% sure Kraft is lying
And that is another thing about this
I’ve never seen a team owner attack the investigation like this
Who the fuck do you think you are
Ross gracefully accepted all the findings of the wells report on bullygate, in fact he asked for an investigation
The NFL should hammer Kraft for his public statement blasting the report
He also said something about 3 of 4 of the colts balls below psis which the wells report says is just not true
Kraft lying about the investigation to save the face if the franchise is almost worse than the actual cheating
Jahn, I do not think there will be more than a $25K fine for Brady and a two game suspension MAX. The Organization will probably be fined $100K and next year the league will institute a new rule about how the balls are monitored.
I just HATE the fuckers. They have been a good / great team for a long while, but the STILL cheat and still get preferential treatment.
I just venting. Fuck I don’t even vote because I know there is nothing “I” can do about anything at this level. So let me drive my fucking backhoe into that windmill and wail about the inequity of it all until it passes.
🙂
Should we start burning and pillaging downtown Boston, to get the ball rolling 😉
wait, i have been to that rat whole, you mean to tell me it wasnt already burnt down but that is just how it looks….hhmmmmm go figure.
When I went to Boston I was thinking to myself, as I drove across the bridge, this place really needs to show me something or I’m going to refer to it as a hell, but unfortunately I can’t say that.
Boston is actually a very nice city IMO. I just hate the massholes who live there. (just in general, and mostly only when they are in Florida bars…LOL)
Why does the rest of the NFL let anyone from the cheats lobby for a rule change? Every time they do they must have some angle to cheat behind it.
I would suspend Brady for half the season of not the entire season
I would make the penalty so harsh no one will ever test those lines again
Belicheat and Brady one yr each, and take their 4 titles out of the record books, then I’d…
Bludgeon them with a spatula!
‘They have been a good / great team for a long while’
again i ask the same question. what makes them good? they have been cheating to win. does anyone think they just cheated the once on each occasion and got caught both times?
they cheat to win, that does not make them a good/great team. it makes them cheaters and anything they have done is irrelevant.
hell for that matter bonds is the greatest home run hitter of all time. i mean at least that dude has never been caught.
Brady should be suspended for the opener at least. So when the team unfurls the banner the Superbowl MVP won’t be in the stadium. It would be a great irony and I love irony.
Piggy, that’s just straight funny. I get the spygate/deflategate outrage. But the formation, pick/rub, holding accusations are leveled at every team by fans of every other team, every week in the NFL. it’s just piling on.
I get what you’re saying, they embrace a culture of cheating, I agree. But I think what I’ve said has been clear and consistent, and never once at odds with that statement, yet keeps getting lost.
Without any implication from the Wells report, nobody is going to get punished. The implications toward Brady and the two equipment guys means, to me, they’ll get punished.
I think Brady gets hit with something. I am guessing 1 game suspension.
Agreed (although I hadn’t though about the actual punishment). I didn’t mean to imply otherwise in this post (if I did).
steve,
the only thing i can say about boston was had the best chicken parm of my life there. other then that thought the place was nasty, dirty and pretty much a hell hole
You should’ve gone to uptown, what did the room cost you for the night where you were 😉
Rock et al.. I get ya on the venting. I understand and identify too. I’m done with it. I have repeated my self a couple of times. I guess I’m just so looking forward to this season with the fins that I just don’t have any energy to worry or complain about the Pats. I’m more focused on how we’re going to kick their ass when we play than how this whole thing plays out. Vent away my friends.
Jahn it’s not that were trying to take the focus off our team but the Pats have been dirty cheaters for a long time and it’s good to see a little Kharma every now and then. It’s reaffirming.
I want blood!!!
Bring me Tom Brady’s head!
Piggy will be John Snow and Brady will Janos Slynt.
Everything the cheats have done that defied the odds…
You might be a cheat if… Your QB has a special relationship with the ball boy.
I always suspected Brady had a special relationship with the ball boy but that was a whole different scenario I envisioned. LOL.
With thoughts like that did you grow up thinking you were going to be a priest 😉

MORE good news from Boca Raton regarding Florida Atlantic’s baseball team. Currently, the Owls have the best record of any Division I team in the sunshine state (35-11). – – Well, I think I can safely say make that 36-11 because the Owls lead SON’s UCF Knights 10-2, batting in the bottom of the 7th at FAU Stadium. Yesterday, Bethune Cookman declined a chance at a rematch with FAU by NOT traveling the roughly 225 miles from Daytona Beach down I-95 to Boca because of “the chance of rainfall!!” The REAL REASON, in my view, was the 15-0 whipping FAU put on Bethune in Daytona earlier this season!! –NEXT UP for FAU; a 3-game weekend series against the highly regarded Rice Owls, who were pre-season favorites to win the Conference USA title. –TWO days later, on May 12, FAU travels to Coral Gables for the 3rd and deciding game between FAU and the University of Miami this season. –It ought to be a dilly!!
Of course Ken, I wasn’t implying that either (that anyone was trying to distract from the fins). I was just explaining why I’m not all outraged. I know they’re a bunch of cheaters. Far as I’m concerned nothings changed just because the Wells report came out.
I’m also skeptical that they’re getting anything near their due “Kharma” out of this report. I think the accusations are weakly worded (“more likely than not”) and as I mentioned, stops short of implicating anyone other than the two equipment guys and Brady.
Yes but it is still good to see the Pats painted in a bad light and get the negative attention. That’s kharma enough for me to enjoy.
You might be a cheat if… The second place team fumbles twice as much as you do.
You might be a cheat if… your owner owns the comish.
You might be a cheat if… Your coach has been dubbed Belicheat.
OD,
I wanted to wait til you’re hear to post this. Your last couple of AP write ups have been awesome. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences of that magical season.
Rob, they play quality football even if they get preferential calls and push the boundaries of the rules and then just outright break them. I cannot honestly say they haven’t played good football. But maybe they would only be 10-6 every year if they didn’t cheat instead of 12-4 or 14-2 16-0……It ain’t ALL cheating
Bill Belichick is an insecure individual who can’t stand losing so he goes through great lengths to avoid that. We Dolfans only touch on crazy calls we’ve experienced, there are many other fans of other teams who have seen the same thing happen to them.
Belichick got fined 500k for Spy-Gate. Not sure this next cheating or bending of the rules indictment will be less.
People forget Peyton Manning and Tom Brady lobbied for ball pressure options years ago and that’s why we’re where we’re at. This time around Tom Brady says he never knew of such practices, the same with Belichick. LOL
Liars!!!!!
rock
but that is my point. no one knows if they might have been 0-16 without cheating. so it is a useless point. they should be given any credit for there record. they cheated, no one knows how it effected them. like i said, it is like the roid era in baseball, no one knows what it did, so everything should be done with an question mark.
steve
here let me make it simple
you might be a cheat if…….you play for any team in the nfl other then the pats, then everyone knows you ARE a cheat.
Test
Fail
Asshole!!
I resemble that remark
No you don’t but keep trying
Woohoo. Work upgraded to I phones from my beloved blackberry

Test
if you said it twice it would be testies
Testies. Something else that Brady should have removed As punishment
Or at least deflated.
Or have suh step on them
That’s sure to deflate them.
I remember seeing a video of Brady saying he liked the balls a little on the soft side and loved it when Gronk spiked the ball because it always let some air out when he did and that he could grip the ball better after.
Then I remember seeing a video of Brady saying he never said that…..

ok the cheats should be punished, but why should gisele have to empty out her purse.
I think it is telling that all this comes out after the draft. Gives you an idea of where it will go punishment wise woohoo bolts
unfucking believable the lightening scoring with 1 second on the clock in a game they were totally dominated just unfucking believable
Buzzer beater goal bolts win
May hate habs more than pats. Prolly not though

Buzzer beater goal bolts win
just said that. i am no where even knowledgeable about hockey, but they were dominated for the second and third period. then decided to skate the last one minute of the game and score with one second left.
Fate and karma love it
Speaking of bolts. How are they able to ban out of state ticket purchases or was I misreading that report
manito
i can say this now. i dont really hate the pats. and even more now i dont hate them in the least. they are cheaters. they have nothing, the only way they win is to cheat. they are nothing. now the jets and bills i hate, always have always will. if the pats didnt cheat maybe i would hate them but they cheat, so their wins mean nothing.
WTH is that? supergay flying Dolphin?
Piggy on Saturday Morning! 🙂
The Purple Dolphin (metaphor?) Seems to be “mounting” “#2” in the picture above….

no idea about that. i do remember hearing on local sports talk shows they were ‘prohibiting’ ticket holders from selling their tickets to out of state fans. and i dont know if the bolts used the word prohibiting. it was more just a marketing thing so during the detroit series have the fans werent wearing red.
My asshole cat just laid open the side of my neck with his claws because I wasn’t paying attention to him. He was sitting on the top of the back of the couch behind me meowing and I turned and gave him a “SSSSSS” to chase him off and he fucking gave me a swipe and cut me a 2″ slice in my neck. I may fucking need stitches that fucker! I’m bleading like a stuck P ……um, uh never mind.
Mine just bites me when it wants attention.
I also hate cats. Sorry but I am having a hard time not laffing 😎
Rob : their cheating to win infuriates me. I also hate the bills cause we could not get past them in dans years jets hate is harder as they are usually a circus sideshow
Alright my night time drive by is over. I am out. Peace to you all.
I hate the Pats so much I don’t want to talk about them!
How bout them Fins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
rock
what you get for owning a cat. no man should own a cat.
👍
gnight Ken
Night Bruce
Rob: I read that they were not allowing any out of state credit cards to purchase tix either. Seems odd
