Suh is here, everything is different now

Aw would you shut up and quit saying the same thing over and over again son – sheesh we’re sick of it. I understand if you feel that way but let me explain a little before you tune me out. Once in a while things happen to teams and it changes them, sometimes for the better – see Shaq to the Lakers and sometimes not so much – see Haynesworth to the Redskins. Of course without having seen Suh yet to play a game in Miami either way is possible. Suh chose to come to Miami to establish himself as one of the great players in history and to become a champion. Quite frankly the change in this team is palpable.
The Dolphins paid 114 million dollars and in walked instant swag. Suh wasn’t going to go to a loser, he had enough of that. It was evident that Miami was close but lacked a couple of ingredients. Swag ie; confidence and leadership among them. Suh brings both. Throw out a few chumps who didn’t embrace a team first attitude along with a few guys who simply didn’t get it done and bring in a bonafide superstar. Suh plays 80% of the snaps a year, goes to ProBowls, and forces teams to have to game plan against him. How many Offensive Coordinators lost sleep over facing Starks or Odrick? Be honest.
Suh strives to be great and everyone around him feeds off of that. Suh makes us legit. No longer is Miami a team that has decent talent but can’t get over the hump. We now have expectations. Expectations of making the playoffs, finally. Suh makes everyone on the team legit. How much would everyone be questioning the big contract Tannehill, without a playoff appearance, got without Suh being here. Without Suh could we even have taken a potential star Wide Receiver with the 14th pick in the draft or had to settle for a player to help out the front 7 who got smoked last December.
The X’s and O’s are pretty simple. Miami has a beast coming right through the front door, lining up a few short steps from your QB. You have to design to block him and even then you are likely not too. He then makes both of the DE’s job easier, he makes the Linebacker’s jobs easier and if the secondary, which happens to have Brent Grimes, doesn’t have to cover as long they instantly become better. These things are simple to figure out and to understand. The difference is what happens on the sidelines, at practice and in the locker room. Guys see this greatness, this desire and dedication up close every day. They all become better. This is why the name “Chief” has been given to Suh inside the locker room and by the coaches. The Chief is showing them how to be great.
Enjoy this run Dolphin fans. We’re in for a fun ride with Suh shredding offensive lines as Miami kicks ass this year.
The Others
Ryan Tannehill based on every video I have seen looks so good. He pops up out of his drop and is firing darts. He’s running bootlegs, I’ve seen him running drills for the read option. His speed looks good. Everything is looking good for Tannehill as he enters year 2 in the Lazor Offense. Is Ryan about to become a Pro Bowler?
Jamil Douglas wasted no time taking first team snaps. He may have the opportunity to lock down the LG position with Dallas Thomas now nursing a shoulder injury. I’m anxious to see him in pre season games.
LaMichael James has elicited quite a bit of buzz so far. Is he the change of pace guy we really haven’t had in some time. Even Ricky and Ronnie were similar.
Jarvis “Juice” Landry for all he did last year to endear us this early he has fully surpassed so far this year. We may be watching another bonafide star round into shape. The future is so bright for him. I love the energy and devotion he brings. We’re all excited to watch his second season here with the Dolphins.
Terrence Fede is said to be making huge steps and based on the talk you hear may very well be a huge part of the team this season. He’ll [play Special teams and play a pivotal rotational role in the D-Line. He should be a lot of fun to watch these next few weeks.
There are more. I love the vibe I get from camp this year. The competition is tough but so is the resilience. Guys like Brice McCain, who’s going at it every day with Landry and receiving high praise or Jordan Cameron fitting in seamlessly with this offense and becoming a legit Red Zone threat for us. We see Greg Jennings with his inspired play and leadership becoming a trusted target. Rashad Jones appears to be gearing up for a Pro Bowl type of year and Ju’wan James showing improvement entering his second year after a stellar rookie year.

DAVIE, Fla. — Miami Dolphins starting running back Lamar Miller knows exactly what he wants this year. Miller, who put on about 15 pounds of muscle in the offseason, believes he’s ready for more carries in 2015.
But there is one problem for the usually-quiet Miller.
“I don’t know. I’m going to have to find a way to say it [to coaches],” Miller said.
Miller is a man of few words. He prefers to lead by example; he led the Dolphins in rushing with 1,099 yards and averaged 5.1 per carries. Both were career highs.
Last year when Miller had seven games of 12 or fewer carries, Miller shrugged it off and never complained. Miller also averaged just 13.5 attempts per game, which isn’t the norm for a player who nearly had 1,100 yards.
Will Miller’s workload change? That decision is mostly up to the coaching staff.
But Miller, who is entering a contract season, said this week that he plans to speak up more if he has it going.
“I’m going to start doing that,” Miller said of being more vocal. “I’m a team guy, so whatever the coaches call, I just try to do my assignment. But if I feel like we can run the ball this year, I’m just going to try and open up a little bit more.”
Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin told ESPN.com before training camp that he’s open to Miller getting more carries this year. Philbin suggested that Miami’s run scheme, which focuses heavily on option runs, factored into to Miller’s low-carry output at times.
Statistics suggest Philbin prefers to share the wealth at running back. No tailback has rush for more than 227 attempts in Philbin’s three seasons in Miami.
“Whatever we’re doing to move the football and score points we have to do,” Philbin said Thursday of running the ball. “If one person can help us do that and giving him 23 carries a game to get 350 carries, I have no problem doing that.”

I honestly don’t care about the totals on the season; several good offensive teams are able to have a successful run game using several options (Saints/Patriots). I just wish the Fins were a bit more consistent in their run approach (not this pass first, run second down crap). If they are facing a strong defense, they need to attack the core of that D early with strong physical up front work to soften them up. You use a power back (Damien Williams) or light back (Lamar Miller) to set the tone, then you counter with the other to really drive them nuts (that’s what the Saints did with Pierre Thomas in his prime; bring him out after the other backs had softened up that D or trip up defenders by using a back that runs at a different speed than what they have seen for a few drives).
I’m ok with some RBBC approach, but yes, the goal is to impose our will running the ball…it begins to demoralize the D after awhile and totally sets up the passing game for big plays.
Agree. Situational application is important. If the opponent wants to get down and dirty and is expecting to have the passing offense run into a mistake then bring the fire to the opposing team and play that game with them (oh you want us to make a mistake first? how about we do the same to you and have our D break your back first).

Conntucky Lightning. It’s an ale that the age in a moonshine/bourbon cask. 8.5% alcohol and so good
In general I like Trappist ales and anything Amber or darker

Ah nice, i love those styles. I drink the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale from the Lexington Brewing Company on occasion.
Amber/Trappe are nice as well.
I drink some of the kind the south florida breweries serve up.
M.I.A. Brewery makes a Trappe called “Tourist Trappe” lol (they always serve up puns).
I love me a good IPA though (Founder’s All Day IPA lately for me).

Yes, Brain I know. I am a total ass hole and I posted an unforgivably graphic pornographic photo of a naked women doing herself with a football. I was crucified for it and called a liar after I realized what it looked like (not on my small phone screen) I am just a liar and a porn peddling ass hole. I got it.
First of all, I never called you an asshole. Secondly, I never said you were a liar. I DID say something to the effect it’s hard to believe you didn’t know. You said you didn’t , and as I’ve I said above, I thought we had all moved on from it. Instead, it’s become a frequent topic about censorship. My post today was just to say if it’s that big of a sacrifice for anyone to not post things that cross the line then so be it. I don’t have to be here. In fact, despite what’s been said, I’m sure there are some who would prefer I wasn’t. I don’t make the rules here. In fact, there really aren’t any. When we all started this place we thought everyone had enough common sense to know what is appropriate and what isn’t.

once again that is impossible. i didnt think anything posted today crossed a line, yet piggy did. so it is impossible to as you put it ‘not post things that cross the line’. everyone’s line is different. i am not trying to be argumentative with you and by no means whatsoever do i want you to not be here. i am just pointing out if it is left up to each individual to make the decision what not to post then at some point someone will get offended. the way to stop it is to just not allow anyone to post anything other then comments. and then it will just be words that will offend someone

I don’t do the spelling or grammar nazi thing, I just promote the usage of obscure idioms and colloquialisms ensuring continued prosperous proliferation of prosaism in this world where we’re far too often inhibited to 128 characters.
BTW, someone once was giving me shit for my spelling, and I promised to make at least one spelling and/or grammatical error in every post from than on. 😉
