Welcome to Ask Mike – 2015 Season Week 4

Q – Ciao Mike E
Very sombre mood in Finsland after last Sunday.
Can we bounce back like last year, or should I just put our 2 tickets for Wembley in the trash, save on a tank of gas and give my bro a refund/write off the $160?
Cheers
UK

Sure we can rebound UK, but I don’t think we will. I have seen absolutely nothing from this team in the last 3 games that makes me think this team is ready to do anything good. I can’t even precisely point to any one unit and say this unit is now ready to make a statement. Opposing OC’s seem to have figured out our weaknesses on defenses, and have exploited  it time and time again. Let’s face it, our secondary sucks. Besides Reshad Jones, and Brent Grimes, there’s just no proven talent out there. Brice McCain (who should be a nickel corner) is starting, and Jamar Taylor (who can’t win a starting job is at nickel), and sometimes Zack Bowman is at nickel or dime, along with rookie Bobby McCain. To make things worse, we line these DB’s 10 yards off the LOS, and teams are still beating them mostly in front of them, and yet still have gotten behind them. Add into the equation that our front 7 have gotten zero pressure on opposing QB’s, that’s a recipe for disaster. No changes have been made anywhere, no blitz packages, no moving players around, just straight up ineffectiveness, week after week.

When I look at our offense, the problem starts up front. I know folks are down on Tannehill, I’m not one of them. The five guys we have blocking up front aren’t getting it done. As I expected, Brandon Albert isn’t physically ready. He tried, I don’t blame him, I blame the damn GM’s, HC’s, OC’s who counted on him to be ready. They rushed and rushed him, but when you go out and play with an injured leg, other injuries occur. Maybe if they let him heal, we could have him back healthy for the 2nd half, although I fear it will be too late by then. This is what happens when Jason Fox is your #1 and #2 backup plan. Shame on them!

The O-line can’t run block, and Lazor gets queasy just thinking about running behind this line of Fox, Thomas, Pouncey, Douglas and James. It seems like Ju’Wuan James has taken a step backwards, and maybe that’s because rookie G Jamil Douglas isn’t handling his job, or maybe he’s just not playing well either. My guess is the former, because he was lights out our best OL last year. Unfortunately, they don’t pass protect any better, and Tannehill has been under duress far too often. Could Tannehill deal with the pressure better, sure, but he hasn’t. he sometimes seems slow to see the pressure, and then it’s too late. It’s not one of his better qualities, although with his athleticism, you’d think escapability would be.

We didn’t really upgrade at LB, and as I’ve always said, Misi while a good tackler just isn’t a playmaker, whether at ILB or OLB. Jenkins is a good young LB, but he’s still learning. Sheppard has been a disappointment. I expected better, but we’ve gotten worse. The D-line, obviously upgraded by Suh, along with Mitchell, Wake and Vernon was supposed to be our rock. It’s been a small pebble instead. This is the one unit I really think is capable of turning things around, but unless they get healthy, and Coyle is willing to change some things up and move people around a little, and try and find better matchups, it probably won’t.

Keep your tickets bother, this is the NFL, and anything can happen any given Sunday, and Wembley Stadium looks really nice, even though there’s no tailgating. The restaurants look nice, and they serve beer if you need to cry in one. Hopefully I’m 100% wrong, and the someone lights a fire under their asses this week, and we go out and demolish the Jets, and make us all feel great!

Enjoy the game UK, REPRESENT!!!

Q – Come take a flight with me into the clouds..

Imagine:
Dolphins beat Jests this week
Then Dolphins fire Philbin and his coordinators anyway

Dolphins hire
Dan Marino as Head Coach
Zach Thomas as DC
Gary Stevens as OC (why not?)

Dolphins finish the reg season 14-2
In the AFC Championship, Dolphins shut out the Patriots to win by a score of 72-0 honoring the ’72 undefeated team by score

Then in the Super Bowl we play a close one against the Packers.
Jason Taylor, who came out of retirement for the game, sacks Aaron Rogers on 3rd down late in the 4th qtr

On the Packers punt, Reggie Roby, the new special teams coach, is able to pin point where the punt is expected to land – Jarvis Landry has a good return as a result

Depleted by injuries Marino, Thomas and even Gary Stevens suit up

Marino sets up a game winning drive and gets us in FG position

With 3 seconds to go Pete Stoyanovich kicks a FG which bounces off Garo Yepremian’s tombstone and through the uprights

It is referred to as the ugliest FG in Super Bowl history

– again Garo!!!

We win
Dan Mario finally hoists the trophy and after the game

A week after the Super Bowl it is confirmed that all game balls throughout the post season were properly inflated but the patriots laced their gatorade with elephant steroids

Okay now the question:
Will this happen and why not?

Oinks,

Pigsgerald

Everything here can happen up until Reggie Roby being the Special Teams Coach, he’s passed on (2005), may he rest in peace. BTW – You had me at “Fire Philbin and his coordinators”

It’s funny, Son wants Ray Lewis to be our HC, which is fine, I can’t think of a more passionate player, who would be an excellent motivator. What about our own Zach Thomas? Another player who lived in the film room, and was always known to be one of the most instinctive players in the league, and a career overachiever, who never listened to what other people thought his limitations were. I’d look to Zach as a coach, and not HC quite yet, he’d have to prove himself as a LB’s coach and work his way up, which I believe is the proper way to go about it.

OK, back to your question. No, I don’t think it’s possible, I don’t think there is any such thing as elephant steroids.

Q – Mike,

Why do dolphin fans continue to buy into the hype year after miserable year? Wouldn’t it be more prudent to wait to see some tangible results before investing in the fragile sunshine & lollipops market? Is this a flaw that can be corrected or are some fans addicted to hope for hopes sake? Or is this a twisted form of masochism? I’ll hang up and listen to your answer.

 Mr. B. L. Zebub

Bonus Question … Can you explain to me, a football novice, the benefits of playing the DB’s 10 yards off the receivers on third and 5?

To answer the first part of the question, it’s a phenomenon that happens league wide, in just about every sport. Every new season brings hope of better things, because there has to be hope. Human nature seeks out hope, and when a shiny new season starts with some shiny new players, especially $100M players like Suh, fans hope springs eternal. I can’t argue that is does seem masochistic in a sense, because when you allow yourself to hope for good things for this team, there is the inevitable pain, anger and shame that comes with the letdown that once again our team failed and didn’t make the playoffs.

I have a feeling that this years failure starts earlier than usual, and that may allow some of us to seek enjoyment elsewhere. I really do feel that the seams are coming apart, and I also feel that we will lose to the Jets this week, which really puts us behind the 8-ball. Very few teams make the playoffs after starting 1-3. Between 1990-2008, 21 teams made the playoffs after starting out 1-3. 7 of them lost WC playoff games, other went to divisional playoffs, and one (2001 New England Cheatriots) won the Super Bowl. I just can’t see a Joe Philbin team going that far, I really can’t.

BONUS QUESTION! The advantage is that it’s such an asinine strategy, that we can never actually blame the DB, because he’s only doing what he’s told. I truly despise it, and I think Coyle should be fired just for employing it. The worst part of it, is that WR’s are STILL getting behind our DB’s occasionally, and that shouldn’t even be possible. The 2016 draft should be fun for us. We need a LT, LB’s, CB’s, OG, RB, S, FB (After Philbin is fired and we finally decide we actually need a FB to run the ball).

Q – Dear Mike E,
Why have we been sucking so bad for so long? When did it start? What will it take to end it?

It started back in 2004, when we went 4-12. We did manage to turn it around a bit in ’06, going 9-7, but then we fell back to reality and went 6-10 in ’05, the prelude to Cam Cameron’s “Fail Forward” season of 1-15. Then Herd’s Hero, Chad Pennington led us to 11-5, and the playoffs, but all we know what happened when we got there, it was ugly. Then the Trifecta went comfortably to where they belonged, 7-9, 7-9, 6-10, and then we hired “Queasy Joe”, who managed to equal the Trifecta by going 7-9, and then to full mediocrity, 8-8, 8-8. So there’s your recent Dolphins history for ya, seems like we’re paying for having Dan the Man for 17 seasons.

As to what will it take to end it? Get a good coach in here. Either a good young hungry successful college coach, or see if maybe one of the guys who have been out a while want to once again join the ranks of the NFL, like Brian Billick, Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden. I tend to think those guys are comfortable where they’re at, so I doubt that.

What I’d like most to do, is bring in Jim Harbaugh. I know he wouldn’t come this season, and maybe not even next season, but maybe he’ll hunger once again to be in the NFL, and if we’re still wallowing in mediocrity at that point, I’d give him the ranch to come here, and I think Stephen Ross would do the same. That guy can flat out coach, like his brother. We’ll all see what we’ve been missing with guys like Joe Philbin, Tony Sparano and Cam Cameron.

Q – Dear Mikey,
Do you think we’ll see any significant changes in play calling this week on both sides of the ball?
And if so, what significant changes would you as an astute fan, like to see or think we’ll see?

Yours truly,

Disgruntled GetterDone
You would think so, but I have a feeling, for the most part, we stay with what we’ve been doing. I think Coyle and Lazor, are both guys who believe in their systems (to a fault), and will stay status quo, with maybe a couple of wrinkles. Maybe we have a couple of fakes in order to try and shake things up, but I think scheme wise, we won’t alter from what we’re doing.

What I’d like to see is is trying to move guys around to change up the opposing O-lines responsibility. I’d like to see more disguised blitzes. Hell, we haven’t put any damn pressure on the opposing QB, and we’ve played the Redskins, The Floodgates – I mean the Jaguars, who send out invitations to opposing defenders to meet the QB in the backfield, and the Bills. NO PRESSURE! NONE! I’d love to see the CB’s play their guy at the LOS, and not back off 10 yards. I’d love to see Lazor make a commitment to run the ball, even if it doesn’t work immediately. It looks like SIms is going to be out, so that hurts the run game some, but the 5 guys on the O-line need to get nasty. I want to less of Wake, especially if he’s ailing and/or ineffective. I’d love to see McCain (Chris) break out and get a couple of sacks. Let’s blitz a little, and let’s send guys who have the ability to get there. Maybe Reshad Jones, he’s a pretty solid blitzer, even Brent Grimes has done it.

Most of all, what I’d like to see different is this team SHOW SOME DAMN HEART! GO DOLPHINS!!!

Our linemen rotate, I see it every game. The defensive end or tackle come at our guys, and they get spun around quite often. lol

  2. Tim Knight says:

UK, thanks for asking but no change in Sam. I’ve been sensing that his parents are starting to prepare for the worst even as they still try to remain positive. Everyone is still hoping. Go Sam, go!

well yeah. duh. i mean it what other uniforms were they going to use.

  7. D says:

Mike E: We actually agree man, i was saying Philbin stays because like boulder said, anything near a playoff appearance for us would be a coaching miracle and he would stay as coach, not should but would lol.

FFR/Boulder: I dont see anythign or any move made directly by this GM and Exec VP that would make me point a finger at them. I respect ya’lls opinion and i see where you are coming from, i just cant blame them from my perspective.

So how about this for a suggestion of fixing our team. Coyle gets move to OC because of his mastery at making offenses look 10 times better than their talent suggest. Lazor to DC due to his ability to make defense look as if they actually have the offenses playbook and exact play calling chart. Philbin and the Janitor switch places, because you know how tidy Joe likes to keep things, and Janitors are always the go to people when you need to clean up shit.

  8. getterdone says:

Tim, if Sam is breathing on his own, then that’s a good sign all things considered. It’s all about faithful patience now.

I pray just about everyday that the Lord will awaken him. Until then his cause has awaken all of us here. That’s a good thing!
Thank you for sharing his story.

    Go Sam!

  9. The Flying Pig says:

here is a photo of the jests special toliet paper

  10. Tim Knight says:

GD and D, I appreciate it. I still talk to him and ask him to wake up everyday. I say come on Sam, you got this, you can do it. Wake up!

I was just passing on what his Dad said. I sensed a different tone in his words. But he’s also exhausted. I guess doctors told him and Sam’s Mom what could be an issue next and it hit them hard that their young boy is still very much in danger. It’s understandable. The outpouring of love and support is what is keeping them going.

  11. Mike E. says:

This explains what D, Tim, and a few others, including myself, have been discussing.

Read it, it’s an excellent breakdown.

    http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/2015/10/osi-umenyiora-dolphins-defense-issue-on-defensive-coordinator.html

    • D says:

I agree that was a pretty decent explanation. Easier to follow than i think what i have been saying lol, but its the same thoughts, Also like Tim, i cant explain why he 180’ed his defense but it looks completely different and not just in productivity than it did just a couple months ago in PS.

    • Tim Knight says:

Let’s hope that’s what it is. But we’ve seen a lot of sacks under Coyle and other good plays so it can’t completely be scheme.

  12. getterdone says:

If one side of the ball can get fixed, then it will pick up the other side by proxy.

  13. D says:

Man i tought a bunch of you would really like my suggestion of how to fix things above….. especially the janitor part lol.

  14. getterdone says:

    Dolphins current defensive line.

  15. Mike E. says:

I’m glad that article came out. I knew what I was seeing wasn’t really occupying blockers, but they just weren’t getting upfield in time to make plays. I really don’t know why he decided to go this way. Seems to take away all the aggressiveness of the defense.

  20. Ken says:

Tie between Marino and Griese. Marino was clearly the greater QB but Griese was my among my first memories of being a Fin’s fan as I discussed in my origins story. His bombs to Warfield in the 1972 AFC Championship game are what got me hooked on the Phins.

    • Tim Knight says:

Warfield was a big favorite of mine in the early days. But so was Csonka and Morris and… LOL

      • Ken says:

There were some great players on those early 70’s teams. Warfield may be my next favorite after Marino and Griese.

    —————————————
Occupying blockers and what he is saying is same thing. they engage, draw double and try to cover a gap. They werent assigned to get upfield, they clogged a gap. Damn for like a minute i believed we were finally on the same page lol.

    • Tim Knight says:

My guess is there’s not too much confidence in the LBs then.

      • D says:

The puzzling thing to me is when you run this kind of DL assignment, you generally are aggressive witht he LB’ers, you bring them downhill, shooting gaps that the DL isnt occupying, and he isnt bringing them. He has them looking more like they are playing containment and sealing off cutbacks. Its like he is half in and half out of two different types of schemes.

    • Mike E. says:

Oh no . . . . He clearly said read and react, rather than just push upfield. That’s not the same in my book.

      • Mike E. says:

He even said it was like the extra second it took them to diagnose the play was what was hurting them, along with the gaps they were attacking. We’re on the same page with the gaps, just differ on what they were doing in those gaps.

  22. Mike E. says:

Zach Thomas is a close 2nd for me though.

  23. Tim Knight says:

Ken, I also lived through their reputations, jerseys, posters and trading cards. I didn’t see the Dolphins play much back then.

    • Ken says:

Fortunately up here in Connecticut we got 2 games vs. Jets, 2 games vs. Pats and usually 2 Monday Night games/year along with 1-2 national telecasts and the annual playoff run so even though they were not local I did plenty of opportunities to watch. Plus there was NFL films weekly highlight show.

  24. Tim Knight says:

D, I’ve seen us send LBs into the gaps quite a bit, but if we’re not willing to let the DL get up field and blow up the backfield, then we’re worried abut our LBs cleaning up.

    • Tim Knight says:

Maybe the best idea is to mix it more. I also feel the effort needs to be better. I’ve seen too many arm tackle attempts and guys getting run over.

  25. Try Pod says:

One of my all time favorite memories of dolphins football is when Greg Lloyd sacked Marino, and Marino, on his back reached up and grabbed the front of lloyd’s jersey and said (more or less) “that wasn’t shit! I’m still here and I’m still gonna bring it! “. Lloyd was a scary mf.

  26. Ken says:

Time to call it a day at the office. Peace to you all.

  27. ocalahowie says:

    Twilley!
That was my man! Being named Howard all the kids on my street called me Twilley…
One memory I will never forget was Twilley catching a TD in the Superbowl and I kissed the TV screen I was so happy but Artie’s Grandma got all mad at me.

    GO PHINS!!!

  28. Mike E. says:

I remember that moment quite well. Lloyd told Marino he was going to drill him before the game. He really hurt his hip on that play. I remember Marino completed the pass, but Lloyd took him down, and he landed hard on his hip. Then Marino, at least in my memory, grabbed Lloyd’s facemask.

  29. CavalierKong says:

For me it has to be Marino. I didn’t start watching football until Marino so that makes it easy for me.
A close second would Zach Thomas.

    • CavalierKong says:

I would put JT on the list of top 3 but he was a Jest for a quick minute so he loses a few points for that, even if he did it in righteous anger.

  63. Tim Knight says:

Toba, I lead my league in scoring but I’m 1-2 because of the chance schedule. I started off 0-2 and just destroyed my last opponent with the help of the ARZ DEF/STs. He needed a big game from Cobb and Crosby and got it, the problem, I have Aaron Rodgers. LOL

    • Mike E. says:

I’m 1-2 in one league, and tied for highest points scored. Just hit 2 teams on bad weeks.

    • manitobafinfan says:

Nice to have the qb for his two stud wrs. I hate years like that. I have been highest scoring and winless Not having that issue this year. I have 4 teams and i think all are 1-2 or 2-1.

      • manitobafinfan says:

Oops. My team is 0-3 against 3-0 Herd. Twice is scoring stupid amounts of pts each week

  64. manitobafinfan says:

One league last week my opponent was yipping off on my bench points. Had S Smith and Olsen on bench. I still beat him.

  65. Mike E. says:

    Toba

Which league is Herd 3-0 in?

    • manitobafinfan says:

Ours i thought. Apparently not lol. She 2-1

      • Mike E. says:

LOL – I was wondering. You probably thought I was done, (I did too!), I was down 70 + points before MNF.

    • manitobafinfan says:

Yeah that was prolly it. I just assumed she had killed you. Then i did mot watch MNF as we were having PVR issues. And did not realize how many pts thise three guys got

  66. ocalahowie says:

    yes
wish I could find the Video of me being interviewed on CNN
I’m the half drunk guy wearing the Dolphins hat 😉
    I shit you not 🙂

  67. Tim Knight says:

Okay, I’m going to turn the positive up as difficult as it may seem. Who better than the Jets to get to 2-2 heading into the bye to get this shit corrected. We all know 1-3 will be bad and that would be another home loss even if it’s in fuckin London. Enough of the London games, we’ve done it 3 times, let some other teams do it for awhile. No disrespect UK, just saying we can’t afford it as a team trying to get back to relevance. Are we trying to win, or trying to sell the brand?

    Go Phins!!! Go Sam, go!!!

    • manitobafinfan says:

Most of the teams we usually battle for WC are in the same boatvas we are. If we right the ship we can come out okay. I just have not seen anything to show that they can right it. I hope they do.

  68. finfanrob says:

    tim,

you are right, they need those home games in miami. i mean those 34 dolphin fans showing up give them the home field advantage

    • Tim Knight says:

The travel off of a home loss to a foreign home game is not the best situation. That’s all I was saying. 3 of our next 4 division games will be on the road after that.

Yes, MikeE won by .76. I would have been the only one left undefeated. 😦

  70. ocalahowie says:

    Yes Toba
and it all started with my 1000’s of cards getting sucked away.
    I’ll let it go now.
but my cards are probably in Georgia where some of the peoples mail from our town ended up…

    • manitobafinfan says:

My mom the hoarder kept all mine. I still have them now 😎 Except for the ones i have since traded away.

  71. Mike E. says:

    Closing up here. Goodnight folks!

  72. Ken says:

Stanger is on vacation but I think it is fair to say we all know who his favorite Phin is.

  73. finfanrob says:

    tim

i was just joking around. i got what you meant. but hey, the fins are popular in the uk, they may have more dolphin fans there then a home game against the jets

  74. Ken says:

That was a horrible throw by Flacco. Right to the defender

  75. Ken says:

Vick was just standing there like a statue

  76. finfanrob says:

what is it about miami. you have a team loaded with talent but you can be a failure as a coach. not sure if anyone is watching the canes or not, but golden is just as awful as blowbin

    • Tim Knight says:

I question loaded with talent until I see it. It’s not like Philbin and staff have been only winning 2-4 games every year. So where is the talent, where are the big plays? Sorry not putting it all on coaching like everyone else. It’s a team effort or lack thereof but I’m not absolving the players. Go play with some fucking pride!

      • Ken says:

Hard to play with a lot of pride when the coaches are putting you to use in stupid schemes such as a read and react pass rush or coverage 10 yards off the ball on 3rd and 5 or trying to convert short yardage runs out of the shotgun.

  77. finfanrob says:

    tim,

you are right. those offseason signings were really awful players on other teams. i mean who ever heard of that suh guy.

and not even going there with you. i get you dont want to blame the coaches. i have stated over and over i dont care who is to blame just fix it. but there is absolutely no way the coaches arent as equal or more to blame.

    • Tim Knight says:

Suh is one player. I also said it’s a team effort, not just the coaches but they’re being scapegoated as players don’t hold up their end of the bargain. Talent makes plays. When I see it I’ll buy into it. I admit I’m an offseason homer. 😉

  78. Ken says:

Nice run by Bell. Channeling his inner Marcus Allen

  79. Tim Knight says:

    L. Bell is an elite RB and he’s just getting back into it.

  80. ocalahowie says:

    YOU SUCK 😉
When I was moving up to Alabama with my ex, my parents are hollering at me. What do you need to bring all your cards, just leave them here.
I had just lived by a younger kid who had gotten me back into the card collecting thing some 15-20 years after my original collection so I had to have them
HEY YOU GT A ’69 BOB GRIESE?

    • Tim Knight says:

I sold many valuable baseball and football cards at a yard sale when I didn’t really care that much about them anymore – went through a music phases and not so much sports anymore. I now remember the faces of the guys who bought them, like really I’ll give you 5-10 bucks for these 3. My bad. LOL

  81. finfanrob says:

    tim

A scapegoat is a person unfairly blamed for problems. to say they are scapegoats is just wrong. they are as much to blame as the players. there is no way the coaches are without blame.

    • Tim Knight says:

I said all of them. But many here are absolving the players and only focused on Philbin, Coyle and Lazor. I have issues with all of them, but I’ve been disappointed in many of the players as well. I alerted everyone that we’re relying on a lot of young players who haven’t really accomplished anything to make the difference and it hasn’t happened yet. Make some fuckin plays oh thou talented ones!!!! We’re still waiting.

  82. finfanrob says:

wow and there are the refs with another call.

i know it isnt me when the commentators are even questioning the calls. they never ever do that, but that is how bad the officiating has been this year

  83. ocalahowie says:

    Oh well Tim
I’m crying over my cards too.
I’ll tell you guys about the Ice storm of ’96 tomorrow…
    HOLLY SHIT!

okay, i dont agree with that, i think most on here have called out the players and coaching. and year more so the coaching. but you said the coaches were scapegoats. and if you meant scapegoats as the meaning of the word that isnt right. if you just meant you think most are blaming them and not the players ok i agree with that.

it is the whole team who has been a disappointment the players and the coaching

    • Tim Knight says:

It’s about 90-10 coaches to players at fault. I’ve said the entire org is at fault and that includes 53 guys and 46 who suit up every game. Very few players have been called out individually. It always goes back to scheme and play-calling. A classic response to a team not playing well. When it works nobody says boo. Where are the special plays from the great talent? I want to see it like everyone else.

Unfortunately this game this week could be a defining moment for a lot of people – either good or bad.

      Go Phins!!! Go Sam, go!!!

  85. Ken says:

Well this game is not all that entertaining. Flacco looks lost out there tonight. If Pitt scores here I just may be done.

  86. olddolphan says:

HEY HOWIE; You asked about a ’69 Griese? Ya’ I’ve got one. Also have his ’68 rookie card slabbed (certified) PSA-8. Paid $20 bucks for it (UNcertified) from some Ohio goofball who bragged about getting $20 from “a stupid Dolphins fan!” That was about 1995. NOW the card is worth $200-$250 and up IF YOU CAN FIND ONE! Most high grade vintage football cards have done well over the last 25 years.

    • Mike E. says:

I have a few old football cards, and a whole bunch of baseball cards. Not really sure if I have anything of serious value.

    • olddolphan says:

PS; Most uncertified (raw) vintage cards sell for MUCH less. That’s because most of them are lower grades with several defects. Some day I might write an article on the “ART” of collecting old Dolphin cards. The first year of Miami cards is the 1966 Topps set, which includes a card of Fins QB Dick Wood – – a name I’m SURE rings a bell with FFR.

  87. Ken says:

Alright. This game bores me. I am out. Peace.

ken, it shows what you know about football. oshagy has said over and over flacco is the greatest qb ever, he loves his balls

  89. finfanrob says:

    tim,

yep, and i dont split the fault, dont really care. i got out my 9/15 extensions on time and will get out my 10/15 extensions on time too. i am doing my job. your job as me a fan is to make me happy and you are not. therefore i dont care who is to blame. just fix the damn thing. and by all means

    GO SAM GO.

(just so you know, i am not the prayer type or even one that believes in the power of positive thoughts, but just something about sam and all. i am a dad, it hit home. just has me believing for his sake)

    • Tim Knight says:

Thanks, brother. That’s how it is for me. He’s too good a kid and positive about life and how he touches others. There are stories of him teaching younger kids how to do back flips in the pool and they follow him around like puppy dogs. So many people saying if Sam’s around, there’s no way not to know it. And in a good way. He’s so special too his immediate family and there after, that it makes the situation worse. We all know he’s not the only person going through a tough ordeal in life. But then me knowing him as a little guy and how cool he was when we spent time together. It really touches my heart and it hurts.

We have his Bar Mitzvah card on our fridge and have since he made it, not just recently. That was 3 years ago. I believe he did that for his grandpa who passed away almost 2 years ago. The family in general is not overly religious, but they keep traditional alive. His Dad was proud he did that because he wasn’t pushing it. It shows you what kind of kid he is.

      Go Sam, go!

  90. olddolphan says:

GOTTA RUN, guys and galz. Gotta take Mrs. OD to the airport tomorrow for her flight up to North Carolina to see our oldest daughter and our two grandsons. –Talk to you tomorrow.
