If you don;t know by now the Dolphins demolished the Houston Texans on Sunday. And many Dolfans were there to see it, including this little Piggy.
The win broke an inexplicable streak: The Dolphins were 0-6 against the Texans entering a game. Well that changed in a big way. The game was over by the end of the 1st quarter. By halftime the Dolphins had a 41-0 lead over the Texans.
The Dolfans won the toss but deffered. The Texans promptly when 3 and out losing 2 yards on their opening drive.
On their opening drive the Dolphins threw a few short passes to Jarivs Landry and ran Lamar Miller for a few first downs.
But the big play was a slant that was right on the money to Rishard Matthews who took the pass 53 yards to the house! Most of the 53 yards was after the catch. In this pic Prawn points out who Matthews is – and if you needed him to do that you are an idiot.
So then on the next drive the Texans gained a total of minus 3 yards. They went 3 and out again.
The Dolphins also went 3 and out after failing to covert a 3rd and 1. And then they punted to the Texans again. Who gained 7 yards – which is a total of 2 yards in 3 drives. Guess what…they went 3 and out again.
And the Dolphins only managed 1 play on their next drive – but it was a good one. It took Jarvis Landry 15 seconds to run 50 yards. He basically covered the whole field. Landry caught a pass about 15 yards downfield near the sideline. It was an easy first down – step out right?
Nope – not Landry.
So gain a few more yards on the sideline
Nope – not Landry
He broke a bunch of tackles – and the downfield blocking was excellent
Boom one of the most exciting 50 yards TDs in Dolphin History. Check out the breakdown.
Okay Landry that’s enough…
No…okay…MVP MVP MVP
After the Texans lost 3 yards on their next drive and went 3 and out…again…Landry scored his 2nd TD to give the Dolphins a 21-0 lead.
Landry finished the game with 5 catches for 83 yards. Anyone who didn’t watch the game will not gawk at his performance. But trust me he was out of this world fighting for every inch
So now its Lamar Miller’s turn to catch a 50 yard TD pass.
After the Dolphins went up 21 -0 on Landry’s 2nd score, the Texans pooped on their next drive.
The Dolphins drove the ball 83 yards finishing with a 53 yard screen pass for a TD to Lamar Miller.
Maybe Landry’s stats aren;t that impressive. But Miller’s are. 175 yards on the ground and a long 85 yards TD run (not pictured here but it took the lead to 35-0) and 61 yards receiving – most of it on that screen.
And don’t forget the defense.
All those 3 and outs early set the tone.
This is what it looks like when you score 2 pick sixes in consecutive weeks.
And this is what 2 sacks each looks like. Wake had 2 and Suh had 2
And this is a happy coach!
Oh yeah
and guess who had an excellent game too…
4 TDs, 0 ints a perfect passer rating and an NFL record for consecutive completions (over 2 games)
wow
Bring on the Patriots!

Offense was just as bad. This gameplan we see, is not Lazor, nothing like his. Lazor is physically calling the plays but you can tell the gameplan itself and the call selection is heavily influenced in a direction opposite of how it was when Lazor was calling the shots on his own. Im glad things are turned around, but end of the year, if things keep going like this, Campbell needs to be formally given the HC job and Sounders needs to be the OC, unless there is some reason he just doesnt want it.
Saunders.
I think the YAC we’re seeing is clearly a Saunders influence.

I think he had bledso also during that first sb run.
—–
The Pats won their first SB under Belichick in 2001 (the year the famous playoff play where a Brady fumble was ruled an incomplete pass; denying the Raiders a virtual win).
“Bleed Slow” started the first two games of the season and the Patriots lost both games.
Drew was injured (taken out on a stretcher) in the 2nd game vs the Jets late in the 4Q, Brady came in and the rest is history.
Bledsoe also came in in relief in one game and did well didn’t he?
was that the year they beat pittsburgh with mostly special teams scoring plays
Jahn and Tim,
IF you hear lazor and campbell say that they have wanted to run this offense for a while but they fall too far behind in games because the defense didn’t do shit.
I believe the problem with this team was defense. Even last year was defense. If the defense played like they are right now I believe the offense would have been fine.
BTW the problem with offense is not having Albert. Albert makes a huge difference IMO
along with sims TE makes a big deference. If you look at the first 4 games and look at rushing attempts they will show 10-15 attempts a game but only 30-40 yrds but 1 carry is for long of most of those yards and the rest of the carries are for 1 yard average. I would give up rushing when their wasn’t any success and being down score wise.
Not buying it. Down 3-0 we still didn’t see this offense early on. The commitment to the running game is like night and day now.
Under center and play-action has gone up.
well that’s what they’re saying. go watch the interviews.
I have tried to figure out why some things get held in moderation and some don’t. Here are the only settings related to that that I’ve seen:
1. Hold a comment in the queue if it contains 3 or more links. (A common characteristic of comment spam is a large number of hyperlinks.)
2. When a comment contains any of these words in its content, name, URL, e-mail, or IP, it will be held in the moderation queue. One word or IP per line. It will match inside words, so “press” will match “WordPress”.
3. The first comment a new user makes is held in moderation.
There is a box for us to list things we want to moderate for item 2, but so far we’ve not put anything there which leaves us with the 3 or more links rule. Lots of comments get held in moderation for a single link, so I’m at a loss to explain why.
This blog stuff is confusing sometimes. 😉
once again tim telling people what kind of fan to be and when they can and cant talk about things other then the fins. i swear he is always trying to control how we can be as fans. well i am fed up with it, i think i will let all you others let tim tell you how to be a fan.
besides i have my own bag of dicks now, i dont need you guys anymore.
Sigh….
He’s definitely just funning Tim. Smile buddy.
Tim,
About Bledsoe coming in and doing well? Didn’t happen. He started the first two games and never came back in as a NE QB.
Actually you are right 😛
“n March 2001, Bledsoe was signed to a then-record ten-year, $103 million contract.[10] Bledsoe did not finish his career with the Patriots, nor see the opening of the new Gillette Stadium. During the second game of the 2001 season, Bledsoe was hit by New York Jets linebacker Mo Lewis and suffered a sheared blood vessel in his chest. Replacing Bledsoe at quarterback, soon-to-be All-Pro quarterback Tom Brady led the Patriots to a Super Bowl championship. Though he never regained his starting role, Bledsoe proved integral to his team’s playoff run when he replaced a hobbled Brady in the AFC Championship Game against Pittsburgh. Bledsoe, starting from the Steelers 40-yard line, capped a scoring drive with an 11-yard touchdown pass to David Patten to seal a 24–17 victory. In gaining the conference title Bledsoe completed 10 of 21 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown, with no interceptions.[11]”
That was it.
Alright Miami!!!!!
WOW, What an incredible day…WOW, what a Fest too.
I can’t thank Stanger and crew, Brian in NY, and others for all they did to make the Fest possible and so enjoyable! Thank you, thank you!
Was so great also meeting many others from here on Game Day! It was electrifying in the stands too, especially in our group section where we all sat, changed seats, jumped around, & stood the F*** Up!
I was rockin the Tanny jersey all day! 😀
Go FinsMob U!
Go Phins!
I like it…I finally got to a Fest….and what a game for the ages. Need to burn a copy of that one….hope someone DVR’d it.
glad u got to the fest.Sorry I didn’t get to meet you. I recorded on directv but I don’t know how to copy it to my computer to burn copy. Maybe in the cloud somewhere their is the game. Tim thinks so.maybe ask him
I don’t feel Saunders has really done anything special (can’t tell anyway).
All that Miami has done on offense is do a couple fundamental changes (balance the attack back to running 50% of the time) and also feed the play makers (Jarvis/Matthews).
Where did the non-existent YAC come from? It seems to have happened since he’s been here.
The pink pig pic at the top of this new blog was bought by piggy after he and a few others ventured off to the Pro Shop/Team Store before kickoff.
How perfect was that, that he found it in the Phins Store while @ the Fest…lol
Tim,
Agree, the use of misdirection early has been noticeable…and Tanny has looked way more comfortable in setting them up.
I keep seeing negative wannabe’s on here wondering what will happen once Campbell’s “Rah Rah” dies down.
Look, new 1st time HC or not….this guy can coach period!
He has a feel for leadership…he has a feel for the game….he has a feel for players….he has a feel for X’s & O’s too.
So please think first before you just broad brush him as the head cheerleader who just happens to stand in front of the team wearing a headset on the sidelines…..LOL 🙄
I said what I thought and it wasn’t what the spin cycle turned it into in this post. I stand by it. I’m glad we’re winning, but I have a problem with the players if emotion is the primary reason. How many millions of dollars does it take to arrange a play list on your Iphone to get motivated?
Also, for anyone who doesn’t enjoy my post I strongly encourage you to skip them, it’s a free internet.
Boulder, I agree Sims allows us to do some other things.
Boulder, totally agree, it’s defense, and that has been the major problem for at least the last 12 games IMHO. When the defense can’t get off the field and renders the offense 1 dimensional, it becomes much harder to move the ball.

jetssucks, thanks for the kind comment above…sorry I didn’t get to meet you…..maybe next year.
Wait, Tim, I’m asking for clarity, are thinking Saunders has schemed somehow and that’s why we had some big yac plays the last two weeks? (mostly just this week).
Because one of those Yac plays was 100% Jarvis Landry heart and determination. Not something you can scheme. Another was a routine slant pass that went to the house, and the last was a screen pass that this group has run dozens of times before Saunders ever got here.
Saunders was specifically brought in to work on routes and blocking with the WRs. He’s here 2 weeks and we break a record for most long yardage plays in history for a half. Matthews and Miller also had long YAC catches and look at the rushing and blocking down the field. I asked, coincidence? Well that’s what he’s known for.
Matthews: Standard issue slant.
Miller: Standard issue screen.
I’ll give you maybe the blocking is better. There’s a difference, that’s undeniable, but it’s just reality, you can’t scheme for the kind of play that Landry made, and that slant doesn’t go to the house if Tanny doesn’t read the safety and throw it perfectly. It’s just a slant. Not magic.
Screen, I’ll give you down field blocking on that one and on the Landry one.
Well the offense has definitely made some clear adjustments where I see the same scheme on defense except the front 4 is getting to the QB. You don’t have to go full pass mode early in the game down 10-0 and we were doing just that in the first 4 games. We are running early and often now so there has been a clear change in approach.
Corners aren’t playing nearly as far off the ball, not by a long shot. The 2nd half yesterday notwithstanding because, well,. 40+ point leads will allow you to play off again.
Also, gap responsibility has been greatly decreased, allowing these guys to play in the offensive backfield. There’s been more defensive change then offensive, IMHO..but that’s ok if we just see things a little differently.
I do ftr see more under center snaps, and more quick throws. The under center stuff is still a large minority of the snaps. The bulk of Millers yards came from handoffs out of shotgun formation. I didn’t see as much misdirection stuff this week as last, but that’s a good thing IMHO, I don’t want to think the offensive success is tied to misdirection and statue of liberty type playcalls. It’s not sustainable.
Fair enough. The under center has gone up dramatically though.
Tom Brady on Sunday

er, Thursday 😦
LMAO, Awesome!

Run setting up the pass of course and also the emphasis to get high percentage throws going and to the fastest or quickest moving guys on offense (Matthews & Miller are among the fastest on the team…Landry has quick feet, good vision, and moves well in short space which allows him to juke the shit out of people). Also helps when the opponent puts together a shitty tackling effort 🙂
It hadn’t happened until Saunders got here. 😉
Did Piggy wear a pink bandanna on his head yesterday? I swear I saw guy that looked like him during the broadcast. Dude was wearing a pink bandanna.
That Texans secondary was SLOOOOOOOW. That certainly helped with our YAC (and Miller’s big run).
They also took a couple of bad angles. But re-watching the game it really stood out how slow they were.
Or maybe we made them look slow. 🙂
Lol, I almost threw in that perhaps it was just us playing at a different speed. Kinda the same thing that happened to us against the Bills when the Bills were playing football and we our players were too busy watching their turtles race and couldn’t be bothered to play the game..
By the way, from that same article Tim, I’m happy to see Gurley having such success after that nasty injury he came off from college. I pray Chubbs can pull what Gurley & McGahee have been able to pull off (have NFL success after nasty injuries).
GDP — was great to meet you and the lovely lady (yeah I put it that way cause I never got the exact status).
Was more than a tailgate though….were you a witness to the murder?
LOL, thanks….she’s my girlfriend.
Getting a cooler ran over by that ditzy blonde was a first….then with encouragement, you putting a huge hunk of the broken Styrofoam cooler with an empty beer can on her hood & under her windshield wiper was priceless….wish we could’ve saw he face when she returned….LMAO!
Kong, exactly, the Bils were playing at a higher intensity than us and we couldn’t match it. The same we’ve done the last two games.
Jahn, I can see where you or others are coming from, with Dan being so new to the fans, and the first thing that caught everyone’s eyes was his in your face demeanor…..but I’ve seen a big difference in play calling on both sides of the ball, in turn that alters scheme to a degree.
The new found player motivation and execution is just a byproduct of those X’s & O’s changes…IMO.
We & the national media all knew that this team had a bunch of talent on the roster….way too much talent to be playing the way they did under Philbin.
What an indictment of Joe & his loyal pal Coyle. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but was really glad to see change finally come.
Even Lazor eluded to the fact in so many carefully guarded words, that Philbin hamstrung him with the play calling, so we know the same was done with Coyle.
Dan, told Lazor, you came here stressing run balance, up tempo passing attack, and smart football….so show me & I’ll give you hands off so to speak, with input here and there when I see fit.
Dan reportedly said this to both of HIS coordinators now. We are reaping the changes, we see the results.
Philbin was known to give his coordinators the freedom to call their game. I think Lazor has been told to commit to the run more. It’s so obvious that has changed and I don’t believe he was hamstrung because he gave up rushing way too early going back to last year.
Also the fundamentals are better now as Jahn eluded to. We see it in downfield blocking, blitz pick-ups, plus good angles, pressures, better coverages & more sound tackling by the defense,
The players are clearly playing better. LOL
More than scheme and Xs and Os, I think it’s a mentality shift.
Yes, It’s D) All the above. 😀
Mallett is on his way out of the NFL.
GD, it probably is a D answer. If we weren’t executing I bet you a lot would look the same though.
Regarding DVRing and burning a copy of the game…I’m not sure how to do that but I forgot to cancel my NFL gamepass after the Thursday preseason game, so I’m signed up for the season. If anyone wants to use it to rewatch any games, let me know and I’ll give you the id and password. Somebody ought to get some use out of it. 🙂
pick me coach, pick me….I’d love to go back over some of the games for a few different teams each week.
Er, posted this as a reply above somewhere instead of after Tim’s mallet link (to Mallet himself; he’s got alot in common with Ryan Leaf LOL) …

Me too, I drafted Gurley in the 1st rd in our protect league and he looks like the real deal.
Pre Saunders: Sweep left, shifting entire line, negative yards.
Post Saunders: Decisive power running, north/south.
Pre Saunders: Straight passing formations, predictable.
Post Saunders: Running plays to WR’s, etc out of those same passing formations, and he has been setting up plays with the quick outs behind the line. Texans never really adjust to them so we just kept at it, but those were to set up the deeper routes.
Pre Saunders: Really odd and ineffective blocking schemes, shifting entire line, lots of no backfield protection for blitzes.
Post Saunders: More stright forward blocking, lots of pulling to take advantage of athletic linemen, Usually protected backfield.
To me all phases of the offense seems different and i think its visibly different. The results are visibly difference. The part about how the offense depends on the defense, well yeah all of them do, but an offense that cant move the football on the first drive before the defense has even stepped foot on the field cant blame their ineptitude on the defense. Our offense from snap one looked pathetic and couldn’t get shit going, that was not the defense.
I haven’t really looked at the offense in that detail, but I do see a different approach and results. I agree the offense can’t blame the defense. The Jets game is the perfect example. We had 3 chances to make that game a one possession games and failed every time. The other opportunities could have also been to take the lead. They were playing inept.
GD, blitz pickups is a scheme change, you can pick up the blitz if you have someone to pick it up, and now he is having someone stay back to do so.
Yep, good observations here & just above. Said it better than me, but I have seen the same thing and have said as much.
Thanks for sharing!
In case anyone was noticing…the Fins output the last couple of games has pushed the season team PTS differential from -36 to +10 for the season heh (i laugh cause the variation is huge but whatever, it is what it is).

I love the changes that have been made, not just the success we are having. Team feels different, vibe is different, approach is better, results are just icing. I hope Dan Campbell finishes the year strong and i really hope if he does there will be little question to who our next coach is. He brings results they need to stand behind him as the new HC.
Sorry that was supposed to be a new post, not a reply sorry try.
I don’t know if UK Fins Fans knows this but I saw this on Al Saunders’ bio over at Wiki
“Alan Keith “Al” Saunders (born February 1, 1947) is an American football coach, who is currently the senior offensive assistant for the Miami Dolphins.
Personal life
Saunders was born in the north London suburb of Hendon as part of a sporting family; his great-uncle, Ron Saunders, played soccer for a number of teams in The Football League and later became a manager, winning honours with Norwich City and Aston Villa.
When Saunders was five years old, he moved with his family to North America, settling first in Canada before moving to northern California, after being sponsored by a family from Piedmont, California.”
Trypod,
LOL….McCain mentions though that he put that up last year as well in his latest posts.
D, I agree if the team plays well and finishes strong Campbell should remain the HC because you already know he gets results. Why would you change?
Jason Garrett was an interim HC who became permanent in Dallas when he replaced Wade Phillips who was fired in early November of the 2010 season.
Bruce Arians as well is another interim HC who worked into a permanent HC job right after though he did it a different way; serving as interim coachwhile Pagano was out on medical leave. He did showcase himself that season and was rewarded with a job in Arizona. Nobody in Arizona is regretting that decision at the moment :).
Arians was a completely different situation . He was not stepping in to take over a disfunctional team like Campbell is
I didn’t realize it but John Benton & Al Saunders have this guy in common
http://worldonline.media.clients.ellingtoncms.com/img/photos/2001/01/10/sportsvermeil_t440.jpg?9e2a24ba44807f8f9b96aad7c4082bf6ded075dc
Al, but I’ve yet to see Benton or Saunders cry. 😉
That’s an old avie or meme thing from McCain’s twitter timeline.
I hope he didn’t just send that to Brady….he doesn’t mention the upcoming game Thurs Nite, so I’ll assume it’s internet BS. I hope so, cause we don’t need to rouse the Pats up anymore than they’ll already be when we play in 4 days.

Wow what a weekend!! 58-0 and 41-0 in the first half. Wow!
My Clemson Tigers made me proud on Saturday (sorry about that, Coach Golden) and then 24 hours later in the exact same stadium my Dolphins made me proud on Sunday.
And in a weird “who do you root for?” game, Ga Tech, where my one son went last year, which has been having a really unlucky season, manages to steal a win from FSU where my other son is a student right now. Needless to say, the GT win helps my school’s division chances against FSU, but at the same time pisses FSU off just in time to take it out on my school! PLUS I feel really bad for my FSU son whose team lost (blew) their undefeated, record while my other son’s team had no chance left of winning anything.
At least Clemson vaulted up to #3 in the Polls. I sure hope that and this bragging don’t put the kibosh on ’em.

About the rah rah stuff vs the scheme stuff.
I do see obvious, major x and o changes as many of you have detailed above.
I do NOT see rah rah stuff at all, not even the “let’s get a snack” street cred type.
I see Dan Campbell talkin’ how he ain’t gonna take shit off anybody and yet still sittin’ down with Suh and other Defensive leaders to find out WTF was wrong on that side of the ball.
IMO he did sit with Suh and Wake, they said get rid of Coyle, and Dan said consider it done.
I agree. That was great leadership, because he did not fire the guy just to clean house. He did it because it was the right football move.
Should have played Tannehill in fantasy yesterday

Great weekend for you 🙂
I don’t feel sorry for FSU fans who probably had alot of laughs to say at Miami fans then got their own reality check later on that day LOL.
Tru dat.
Even my son said “well we got lucky a bunch when Jameis was here so — Karma.”
My problem with Philbin was that he was so stubborn. He re-tried several things that didn’t work multiple times, like calling time-outs against the “book” on when to call them and how he managed his 3rd down play-calling on offense. Not to mention his CBs lining up 37 yds off the LOS.
You say 37 yards off the LOS sarcastically, or did you mean the game against Det where he did that before the half and it cost us 3 pts?
both LOL (er not laughing about those losses dammit!!)
Ken,
I agree Arians came in under a different situation than Garrett but either way, nobody hired him before until they saw what he did with Indy on an interim basis while Pagano was out. Arians was passed up a bit before he got his gig in Arizona (obviously it came from what he showed at Indy).
BTW I was a big Stefon Diggs before the draft. He is looking so good that Mike Wallace has become an afterthought
Great minds or something like that Ken 😉 Omar had him on his mancrush list.
Wallace actually has 7 more catches, but 32 less yrds and they both have 1 td.
SteveCCVN,
LOL @ radio issues…i expect RT to hear some feed coming from the traffic controller room at Logan 😦
Is anybody here thinkin’ that OV has been practicin’ those late hits with a certain Ladyflator in mind?
SteveCCVN,
Speaking of cheating…..Ben Volin posted this a couple of hours ago
Can’t remember a season I’ve watched less of Miami’s games, but at least it’s been for the right reasons the last couple weeks. I had too much going on and didn’t watch a snap of the second half. Wanted them to rest the starters for the entire second half or at least 1 1/2 quarters.
I think it was Jahn who was saying he was both pissed and elated at the way the team is playing right now. I’d echo those statements. It’s frustrating that we would be 5-1 or 6-0 if the team played this way all season.
I think this is the exact reason many of us wanted Philbin gone. He just didn’t give the team anything tangible as far as a coaching advantage went. It’s obvious now that keeping him may have ruined this season as well. I’d also echo the sentiment that Campbell and co. can’t rely on emotion the rest of the way. That works for a game or two, but in the long run every player needs to approach the game like their job is on the line. The great teams are full of players and coaches that take this approach year round.
Regardless, I’m just happy to have NFL football back in my life and that my team is in the hunt for the playoffs. Asking for a win this Thursday is probably a bit much, but if they can find a way to win one or two over the next three games we’ll be looking good.
Congrats to those that were at the game yesterday. About time you broke the damn Fest streak.

WTG Tanny & the whole team.
Hey we beat the pasties last year … remember?
….and this year too! Starting Thurs Nite.
Game one in our house, big difference between that and winning in their house on Thurs.
My biggest concern is R. Jones being the leading tackler, he’s doing a great job, but it means the LBs suck, at least the MLB. Anyone that watched Carolina’s ILBs play last night knows what I’m talking about.
I will admit that there are some differences in the X’s and O’s, I simply think they’re minor. The only legitimate catalyst to the change we’ve seen, IMHO, is the players emotional investment. Earlier I intimated that the idea they weren’t able to emotionally invest themselves under Philbin was part of the problem, and I admit my bias. I always liked the coaches that let ME motivated myself and focused on engineering the things I couldn’t engineer myself.
It’s really more the philosophy of having a thinking coach vs. an in your face ( I won’t use “rah-rah” anymore because it clearly bothers some of you for me to suggest Campbell is that). We’ll see how long Campbell’s approach yields such great results. I can not argue that the results aren’t different and would be an ignoramus to say as much, but the reason for those results, IMHO, is NOT scheme, it’s something else….emotion.
and BTW, I think it’s unrealistic, but the homer in me hopes like hell that Campbell leads this talented team to the playoffs. I may not think much of (some of) their mental makeups, but I root like hell for them to succeed and give all of us long suffering fans something to be excited about.

i saw on twitter a bunch of piss poor cane fans laughing at the noles. i always pull for any of the big 3 fl schools that have a chance to play for a national title. i thought it was in pretty poor taste that your team sucked so bad you could only get pleasure watching the noles lose. it maybe cause i mostly follow dolphin fans and not fsu fans that i never saw any nole fans busting on cane fans but if they did still poor taste
Yea, they had this big “Keep Al Golden” campaign a few weeks ago leading up to the FSU-Canes game LOL

pick me coach, pick me….I’d love to go back over some of the games for a few different teams each week.
Ok, I’ll look for your email and send you the login. But if you sabotage my fantasy team, I’ll kick your ass! lol
I think you’re already kickin ass Ms. Ndamukable Suhman 😛

typical new yorker right?
lol, yep them fuckers think they know it all. ‘our water is the best that is why no one else can make bagels’
I saw Brandon LaFell played some on Sunday. I’m thinking it was to knock the rust off to get ready for us on Thursday.
I knew he was on the field, but I don’t think he played 😉
The only thing Campbell has done is brought physicality to the team. The biggest difference is they wouldn’t play for Philbin. Wake saying he’s back healthy now is BS, they all laid down the first 4 games, except Landry.
I call BS!
I kind of feel the same way. Which pisses me off. I felt the same way with Joey Porter and Jason Taylor’s treatement of Cameron. Regardless of whether he was a good coach, he was their coach, and therefore they had a responsibility to honor his office if nothing else. They also got paid, well, so therefore they had a responsibility to play their hearts out every week. They didn’t do that, and neither did this team under Philbin.
I admitted a few weeks back I had to “give up the ghost” on Philbin, but that doesn’t mean I condone the idea that players would CHOOSE whether or not to give their all for a coach. They should always give their all. They’re professional who get paid to do that.
GDP,
Nice work spanking Home with the Tanny start. You’d be pleased to know I’m in 3 leagues and I started him in all 3!
He’s been a fairly productive fantasy QB this year. So I intend to continue to start him unless the matchup is awful..but most of them aren’t.
Thanks & good job. Go Tannyhail 😉
Al
They will hold up and down the line giving Amandolla time to break free, Grimes will be going down 5yds behind him as the ball sails 6yds over D.A’s head.
PI on us, Pats ball on the 2 with 14 seconds to go.
We all know it’s coming
About RT and Fantasy…
Brian Hoyer pulled in a nice day as well (27 fantasy points) 😛

i have heard that rhetoric. but that is a lot difference then rubbing a loss in someones face. i have no problem busting balls, just ask tim, but to rub a loss in someones face is poor taste in my opinion.
I can’t believe you have a standard for rubbing losses in some persons face, LOL

why i said earlier they wont beat the refncheats
Anyone see that Instagram video i put up?
The Patriots continue to push the limit on rules.
I just hope we aren’t practicing our Batting play.
Those NE refs are too sharp to miss that call ya know.

SteveCCVN,
Speaking of cheating…..Ben Volin posted this a couple of hours ago
i had never seen that before. but not surprised. they are never punished to stop them from cheating again. that is a proven fact why they keep finding some other way of cheating. they could have not told the nfl to go fuck yourself more then the first game and that shit they pulled with the steelers head sets. they have no fear so they will keep cheating over and over
Things you are guaranteed to see on Thursday night by the Patriots team:
Illegal pick plays by the WR unit…
Holding going unnoticed on Cameron Wake…
Illegal defensive shifts…
Tom Brady complaining to the officials on incomplete passes (which will lead to PI calls later on)…
Okay, so the players laid down for joe. hmmm, ok well we all know the record before they ‘laid down’ and that wasnt good. now they are playing hard and dominated two games, so if they laid down doesnt make that decision right? last year there was no talk of laying down and we saw how the year ended. so even if they did, wasnt that the right decision to do so?
It happens…the pro game at any level is always run by the players…they don’t like the coach, they will get their way…
One of the reasons I hate the cheatriots is that the way they cheat is so wussy. If they cheated like a Ronnie Lott crushing hit after the ball is clearly incomplete, that would be one thing, but this snapping the ball when the guy is clearly hustling off the field and Brady has no f’n intention of actually running a play, plus this “8-man front all in a four point stance and then all at once they give the total head and shoulder fake” crap…it’s just wimpy-style cheating, not a football play at all.
al,
i get the players get there way. but what i was asking is even if they did, then the last two weeks that makes it look like the right thing they did. i am not saying whether it was or wasnt, there is a lot of season left. we will see. but the question is valid, if this works out then maybe the players know more then us.
I do think the refs have begun to throw the flag on that pick play a little bit.
It would be funny if one of the Dolphins players going to mid field for the coin toss, pulls this out

The Ladyflator Model #2014.
There may have been a little of that “lay- down” shit in the defensive line, but that was against Coyle at least as much as Philbin. I think our defensive problems were Coyle did not put our DL and LBs in position to win their one on ones and that hurts a man’s pride to know you did not get a fair chance to win and so you look bad in front of everybody and are powerless to stop it.
Well I saw a lot of missed tackles when they were in the right position. They were not playing this physical and fast prior to Campbell.
OTOH, Reports are that Reshad Jones really liked Coyle and we did not have effort problems back there, just breakdowns and that lining up too deep shit.

and how much of it was ‘lay-down’ verse just not believing in the play or scheme. i doubt they didnt actually have meetings and plan to lay down. but i dont doubt they just didnt believe the scheme would work and put in the same effort
Think Rambo just picked the other ones like him…..and fired them into brutal mode. Don’t see all that much scheme change cept we run more…..but then we tried that before and it was not working.
They didn’t have to have meetings about laying down, they just didn’t put in the effort, kind of like the end of the 3rd and entire 4th qtr yesterday. Our D really sucks unless they play with max effort.
Thursday night game with short prep against the evil genius while our HC acts like Mickey the trainer from Rocky (damn the double Stallone thing)……..yeah the timing works on this one for me.
I don’t care what Campbell tells them if he gets them to beat NE.
Is it not probable that Saunders was requested by Lazor? They have the history, not him and Campbell right? Maybe Lazor said “shit Dan I’m in over my head a bit here. I never been a OC before and I am stumped right now as to how to fix this, but I got me a mentor Saunders who I’d like to get in here to look at this thing with me see if he can blah blah blah…”
Another thing Campbell did was made Lazor use more of a balanced attack.
There ya go…Bravo! 🙂
Here’s my nerdy answer to what’s happened to the team. It’s Physics! They were at a constant state of rest under Philbin. They now have met a high energy force under Campbell.
“In common usage, the term “inertia” may refer to an object’s “amount of resistance to change in velocity” (which is quantified by its mass), or sometimes to its momentum, depending on the context. The term “inertia” is more properly understood as shorthand for “the principle of inertia” as described by Newton in his First Law of Motion: that an object not subject to any net external force moves at a constant velocity. Thus, an object will continue moving at its current velocity until some force causes its speed or direction to change.”
Dear Herd; Speaking of “INERTIA,” see my wife’s response in the post just below this!
THE OFFICIAL spread on the Fins-Cheats game in this morning’s TAMPA BAY TIMES is New England favored by 9 and 1/2 points. –I had lunch at the sports bar across Dale Mabry Hwy from where I work. Mr. “New England Patriot” offered me the spread and I replied “I’m in for $100 of that!” He replied that $1 was the most he’d bet on his team. ANYWAY, I’l be in South Carolina on business Thursday thru Sunday, so the “payoff” won’t be until Monday. Be assured, I’ll give him $100 worth of grief if Miami covers the 9 and 1/2. And he’ll do likewise to me if the Cheats win big!

Mrs. OD could NOT BELIEVE we all let that ditzy blonde get away with crushing Stanger’s cooler without an appropriate response. The suggested response was keying her car DRASTICALLY plus, perhaps, using a Brady-approved “deflator” on her tires or, better yet, a knife that would make her tires not repairable. Ahhh–nothing like a good cat-fight, eh?? When I told her there were some younger people in our group she muttered something about “having to pay a price for ultra poor manners.” OR maybe my bad hearing was a factor and I didn’t hear exactly what she said? One thing I know FOR SURE: our grandkids always display GOOD MANNERS around their NANA!!!!!

ok but what i asked is maybe they didnt put in the effort cause they knew it wasnt going to work.
i had a boss once that every single audit i went on with him we would come in over budget. i learned real quick to not give a crap if my budget for fixed assets was 3 hours. it didnt matter if i did it in 2 at the end of the audit it would be over budget. so it wasnt me laying down i just didnt care cause i knew it didnt matter
“He’s continued to build his craft and be a leader for this team. What we saw is just a glimpse of what’s to come for Ryan, this offense, and the receivers,” said Jarvis Landry.
wait wait wait. no one said there was going to be ditzy blondes at the fest. ok now i am pissed i didnt go.
AND you coulda had a FREE RIDE to boot, FFR!
Jahn, I agree it’s more than scheme and Xs and Os, it’s a mentality change and trust in doing it another way in certain aspects. That’s all I got because the effort is better for sure.

here is my take. philbin got fired. dan got the team around and said. ‘the next one of you fuckers that doesnt give 100% effort is going to have to sleep on ffr’s sofa’
and you all are welcome.
Wow, is that all he had to do 😉
OD, that cooler was Brian’s and we did do something to that ditzy blonde’s car without harming it.
Stanger put a big piece of the styrofoam and an empty beer can under her windshield wiper…lol
It’s a bit tamer than what your wife was suggesting….but we wanted to avoid a big mele and gun fight that you and er caused last year in the parking lot as you were leaving back then….lol jk/bb on this last part. 😉
Well one thing for sure is that Mrs. OD is one tough lady…….and she is that when you meet her, but now I’m more than a bit scared. 🙂
MY wife was NOT impressed with the empty beer can response. Oh well.
LOL, she’s as feisty as you Mr. OD 😉

or she could have, ‘budda bum bum’
So what happened with the cooler and the ditzy blonde?
SHE RAN IT OVER when she parked next to us. NEVER apologized for missing us by a couple of inches. Got out of her car, checked the grill of her car, and walked away without so much as a look back to us where several beer cans and soda cans lay in a totally destroyed styrofoam cooler.
So you’re saying she was a bitch.
so brian loses a cooler and i lose a tent. to me these fest sound dangerous as hell.
WIMP!
