It’s Game Day! It’s Fest Day! Dolphins vs Texans

Happy Fest Day!  It’s another Home opener of sorts, the first with Dan Campbell as head coach.  So many opportunities today.  We have the opportunity to finally beat the Texans.  We have the opportunity to get to 3-3 before a stretch of road games.  We have the opportunity to put together back to back wins for the first time in what seems like an eternity.   I’m not looking it up, but it seems like a long time.  And not to be ignored, it’s the opportunity to get a victory for those attending the Fest.

Let’s Go Dolphins!

did stanger just say i likes his meat slowly so it doesnt hit him in the face to hard.

    • stangerx says:

You had to work to get that one in ffr but cool…..absolutely what I meant.
Still riding the Fest high. We have some great people on this board.

  2. finfanrob says:

lol stanger that you think i had to work to turn the most innocent of comments into something perverted

    • stangerx says:

Perhaps saying you had to really twist that one around to your purpose would have been a better way to put it…….assuming you want some train of logic on the thing.

  3. Phindog says:

    Stanger,
Warren is an outstanding chef.. Please don’t piss him off before the next fest.

  4. Phindog says:

Speaking of the next fest.. Who’s going to the west fest in San Diego ?

  5. finfanrob says:

lol and in 2015 ted ginn is STILL running out of bounds to not get hit.

  6. Ken says:

I am lmao watching tonight’s game. Ted Gin with a great run on end around but at end of run as a tackler closes in he goes out of bounds. I just ask what would Jarvis Landry do?

  7. finfanrob says:

Jarvis would have tried to grab as many yards as he could, defenders be damned.

to his credit, rodney ‘i hate everyone but NE players’ harrison said he loved the guy and the passion he plays with. i think he called him the best player no one has heard about. which is funny cause everyone knows about him but the asswipe acts like cause he doesnt play for the cheats no one knows about him.

  8. The Flying Pig says:

Landry doesn’t just fight for every yard
    He fights
    It’s awesome to watch

Not sure how that long TD run looks on TV
But in the stands, I just thought step out of bounds and that it’s
Them I thought okay walk the sideline
Next thing I know he is crossing the field and it’s a TD run

Even good physical receivers in this league don’t make that play
    There was nothing there

He just stayed up long enough to open up the field

  9. The Flying Pig says:

    Piggy’s MVPs

    Landry
    Jones

    Agree or not?

GOT HOME FROM THE FEST a little while ago. IT WAS AWESOME!! –Young Stanger is the host supreme, and theee expert at getting decent tix at an affordable price. The D & B’s event was great, and the pregame, featuring Warren’s “ULTRA SPREAD of FOOD” was fit for kings and queens!! MANITOBA got some neat pix which, I guess, we’l see later. I BROUGHT IN PIX from Fest ONE four years ago! –And, best of all, the FINS LOOKED AMAZING!!!!!!!!
    ———
BRIAN FROM NY sure deserved the game ball for all his help!–BRIAN YOU’re a true friend!!
    ———
GUESS ALL OF YOU SAW TANNy’s 25 straight completions broke an all-time NFL record!!–EVEN PIGGY, reportedly, was impressed by Tannehill’s performance!! DID YOU GUYZ KNOW that Lamar Miller is the first player in NFL history to run for an 85 yard touchdown AND catch a 50 yard+ touchdown pass IN THE SAME QUARTER (per ESPN)?!!? – – WOW!! WE SURE CRUSHED THAT TEXANS” JINX, DIDN’T WE??
    ——-
SPEAKING of old jinxes, I think it was O ROB who said the Fest was a jinx for the Dolphins. WELL, I did some research. IN the Fests that O ROB has NOT attended, Miami is 2 wins and 1 loss. (WIN vs. Redskins in year one; loss to Tennessee in year two, WIN vs. Texans today). –But in the only Fest ROB has attended (last year, year #3), MIAMI LOST to Green Bay. So it appears that ROB IS THE TRUE JINX, RIGHT???????
    ——
GDP and his lady friend were a nice addition this year. RICK, we SURE hope both of you can make it next year, too!
    ——
THAT touchdown by LANDRY was absolutely epic! One of the greatest plays in DOLPHINS History!!! AND I BELIEVE 41 POINTS IN THE FIRST HALF IS AN ALL-TIME DOLPHINS’ RECORD!!! – – wow, what an amazing day!!!–Talk to all of you tomorrow!!–Gotta walk the Greyhound and get my ugly rest!!

    • olddolphan says:

PS: SON-OF-A-SON, his wife and family, were all great to see and talk to, too!–HOPE MORE OF YOU can make it next year!!

lmao, more useless stats. well fine, did you read the stat i posted about suh, top that one.

    • olddolphan says:

NO FFR. –I haven’t had much time to backtrack. tonight. But, since U wrote it, I’ll take a look at it tomorrow. Keep the good news coming. I’m out for tonight.

  13. finfanrob says:

all you bitches cant wait to say first in the morning. me, well i am not trying to get the worm. i prefer to be here and say LAST.

What a great game yesterday! It was absolutely without question the best game day experience I have ever had at the stadium. At one point during the second quarter I literally had tears running down my face. Never have I seen such a complete dominance in a half. I was laughing hysterically..ha ha ha ha ha woooohoooo ha ha ha! What a great group of guys we’ve got on this blog. Fantastic experienc!

Those bastards sucked me back in. I’M BACK! Before yesterday’s game I would have sworn that it wasn’t possible. I was so down on this team. Watching that game in person in the stands feeling the energy was a perfect storm for me. It was cathartic. I am not kidding about crying in 2nd quarter. WOW what a game.

Now go and kick the shit out of the Patriots this Thursday! GO DOLPHINS!

    HOWIE 34-28 MIA

  15. Rhino says:

Herm Edwards on Philbin vs Campbell: “some lead with their seat, some with their feet”

Philbin from his office chair… Campbell in the locker room.

  16. Try Pod says:

    O’Howie,
I am not going to allow myself to be manipulated by recent events, though I will absorb the info and allow it an audience:
    31 – 27 N- ot covering E- dleman W- ell

  17. Rhino says:

Campbell likes physical practices. On short week… when does that happen?

Not to question your emotional experience, but from the looks of it on TV, I think that was rain pouring on you. 😉

  20. sb7mvp says:

Tears of bittersweet rain. Phil Collins would be proud.

  21. Tim Knight says:

Nobody knows what to say today. LOL

The rain was a bonus. LOL It hid the fact that I was crying. (while laughing hysterically) and it cooled things down in the stands. We were all dry by the end of the game. WOW what a great experience.

  23. manitobafinfan says:

It was a very long GREAT day. Thanx to all who made it happen. “Its a New Dan” and it also appears The Force has Awoken

  24. Tim Knight says:

I’m glad you festers got a chance to see a game like that where not only did we end the losing streak to HOU but we destroyed them.

    • stangerx says:

Great win for the team, but I truthfully would have like it is they traded scores for a while to keep it interesting.

  25. stangerx says:

Tanny had a 158.3 passer rating yesterday……if that’s not as high as it gets it’s darn close.

  26. stangerx says:

MIller had 236 total yards in the game…….and he was pulled at half.

    • Rockphin says:

and he was pulled at half……..

Let that settle in a little bit…..he had 175 yards rushing in the first half! Is that the most running yards by a Miami Running back in one half of play in history? If not it has to be close.

Someone posted yesterday that he thought Landry & Jones were the MVP’s of the game. HOW can you leave out a performance like that? Miller is in the running for MVP of that game if not the hands down winner.

      • stangerx says:

Might been other great first halfs, but have to think if you double that you have the NFL record in both rushing and total yards.

  27. BoulderPhinfan says:

What a great monday. Amazing game. The phins are playing lights out.

Thursday will be the real barometer for this team. Beat the pats!!

    • stangerx says:

It will be a measure, but even loss doesn’t mean playoffs aren’t possible. Some of the games we thought would be tough are no longer looking that way, like the Ravens and the Colts.

      • BoulderPhinfan says:

I agree. a loss won’t be the end of the world but the division is out. We won’t win the division. With a win we still have a chance at the division.

  28. Rockphin says:

    Dan Campbell after yesterday’s win:

“That’s us,” said Campbell. “That’s not some fluke. That’s who we are.”

Does anyone have any Kookaid? I think I might start drinking again.

  29. Tim Knight says:

This game was perfect on a short week where we could rest some starters in the 2nd half. It was good to get some backups playing time as well.

    • stangerx says:

Yep great game to rest/protect those who need it.

Arian Foster tore his achilles in the 4th Q and is out for the season……why was he playing in the 4th Q?

    • BoulderPhinfan says:

did albert play the 2nd half? I think both miller and albert sat the entire 2nd half.

  30. BoulderPhinfan says:

I have a feeling the raiders will beat the jets this weekend. The raiders will be one of the teams vying for a wildcard. They’re playing well right now.

    • Tim Knight says:

Yeah the Raiders are on the rise. The Jags are going to be good in a few years too. They have a lot of young talent.

  31. BoulderPhinfan says:

Wow. I hope these guys can keep it up

” How about this stat line for Ndamukong Suh: Two sacks, six tackles, three tackles for loss. Suh has played at an All Pro level the past two weeks. “

  32. Tim Knight says:

Stanger, Foster tore his Achilles with no contact which tells you it was going to go anyway. His career is probably done. He’s had a lot of wear and tear over 7 years and he’s had a lot of injuries.

    • stangerx says:

Maybe it would have happened anyhow, but they didn’t know that. And he could have reinjured his knee via contact too. Not like they had a chance of winning.

  33. The Flying Pig says:

Should be a new blog in a few minutes

  34. Tim Knight says:

    New blog is up.
