The Porcine Oddyssey #101:

An Artistic Interpretation on the Dolphins 2015 Season.

Ahh…what to do on Sundays when the Dolphins suck…I know what I do.  I can go to the museum.  I know just the spot.  They are having a Dolphins Exhibit about the 2015 season.  Let’s check it out.

TannyPollack

This one is called Tanny Pollack.  It leaves a lot to the imagination.  If you stare it at for  long time you will have your own interpretation of Tanny too.

Is he the future or not?

Look at his offensive line collapse around him?  Did he hold the ball too long?

Why can’t his receivers get open? Was that pass late?  Did he miss the receiver?

What a dumb play call?  Did Tanny make a bad decision?

Different people see a lot of different things in Tanny Pollack.

For the purpose of this post – I will be silent on my opinion, but there dis no question about it – opinions vary a lot on Tannehill.

BradyVenus

This one is called Dolphins vs Patriots.

Amid a flurry of penalty flags the Dolphins pass rush tries to get to Tom Brady but appears to only end up dancing around him.

Tom Brady stands lady like as he delivers another TD pass…this one makes me cry a little.

Note that Vernon is helping an injured Cameron wake off the field.  Exactly what we needed when we played the Patriots – Our best pass rusher blows an achilles.

Fuck it all!

poopScuplture

Moving on to sculpture here we have “Monday Morning Dolfan”

This sculpture represents what Dolfans feel like on Monday morning after the game.

Who knew they ate so much corn?

DolphinsBar

Here is another depiction of the Dolphin fan experience:  “Boulevard of Broken Dolfans”

Just your average Dolphin Bar.

On the TV screen Tanny is sacked.  Thankfully the lady with the shotgun’s has not stained the television with her blood, so you can enjoy the misery of the 2015 Dolfans while she blows her head off.

The other patrons deal with suicide in their own way while watching the Dolphins.

How did the guy on the bar off himself?  Pills?  Poison?  Heart Attack?

The artists wants us to think – How do I want to kill myself when the Dolphins play?

The possibilities are limitless!

3rdand6

This is “The Scream on 3rd and 6”

This painting is classic expressionism.  This is what is going on on the mind of the offensive coordinator on 3rd and 6.

On first down he called a WR scene and picked up two yards.  On 2nd down he ran a running play out of the shotgun and picked up two yards.

Now what?  PANIC!!!  ARhhhhhhh!  Its 3rd and 6 again.

Oh fuck it just throw a 4 yard pass and hope the receiver breaks a tackle for the first down…GrandCanyon

It took me a while to figure this one out.  Its called “Grimes Covers”

If you look closely you can see Brent Grimes covering a wide receiver on a deep pass.

Still can’t see it?

Look closer…

See it?

Me neither…

its nowhere to be found…just like the real Brent Grimes covering a wide receiver on deep passes in 2015.

Dolphingofu

This one is a just called “Dolphins”

It’s gritty realism.  This is what the Miami Dolphins say to you every season.

    NOW WHAT?

    What a mess

I didn’t think I could be any more down on this team and then they played another game yesterday. I can see no future for this team other than continuing the inept path they have been on. There is no hope moving forward no light at the end of the tunnel. I cannot feel hope for the coming draft or free agency. Mike Tenenbaum already has our salary cap Fucked up and we have no talent on the team. Next year we will have Eric Mangini as our head coach and we will fail again. I really do think I am done being a fan

  4. bat's avatar bat says:

Nice job Piggy … Captures the hopelessness of the rancid, festering pit of pus and excrement that this team has become… Rooting for the Fins has become the most trendy form of masochism.

  5. TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

    Piggy,
Very well done. This brings me back to my Intro to arts class in college and, though you and my professor have different interpretations of these classics, I do feel you have caught the true essence of these works. Well done. Also, thank you for keeping your opinion out of your analysis, as we would not want anyone to feel as if their cause célèbre was being alienated.

  6. sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

The new star wars movie was about as good as the Dolphins played yesterday.

    • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

I have had almost zero interest in seeing it; your ringing endorsement did not improve my sense of anticipation.

      • bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

I thought the movie was awesome FWIW

      • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

        Bookman,
I don’t mean to disparage the movie, as again I haven’t seen it. Perhaps I’m not a big enough fan of this series- the second set (JarJar Binks?) really didn’t do anything to promote or improve the originals. I’ll likely end up going with my wife and father-in-law over the holidays. We have this new theater in town with wide aisles and full recliners- if the movie is not to my liking I can always sleep for the 2+ hours!

  7. TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

Speaking of the the divisive issue on this blog, I may have finally understood what some have been saying, (re., Tannehill). For those whose only point against the criticism of Tannehill was to ask “Why criticize him when the whole team sucks?”, the unstated point being why single him out, I get you- it’s pointless to speak of his shortcomings at the exclusion of all the others. I will again say however that this is a qb-driven league, so it is not unreasonable for any to want to talk about the play of the qb. He touches the ball most, he makes more decisions then everyone else, he has the most affect on the outcome of the game. Any other argument I do not get; and for those who result to grade school name calling (and you know who you are)- Really?

  8. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

    Try,

The new movie is set in the tone of the original 3…..if you liked those, you will probably like the new one.

    • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

I did like the originals, but I was 11 when the first one came out, so I suppose it’s not surprising. Of course when the second set came out, I re-watched them, but by that time they were so dated (cinematically); it is hard to assess them. I will see the new one, I guess the question is whether or not I’ll see hem at the theater or see them at home.

    Good stuff Piggy lol

  12. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Interesting work Piggy, nice job.

It was nice to see Parker make a positive play yesterday, it gave me some hope that we didn’t squander yet another 1st RD pick.

I know the commentators like to sensationalize, and the media too, how inept our team is, but were they really wrong when they brought up how we saved Logan Thomas and left our O-line unmanned yesterday? Linkenbach was waived so we can sign Damontre Moore, and we waived Sam Brenner earlier this season too. We left ourselves with some awfully thin depth on the O-line, when the guy at the top of the depth chart suck anyway. par for the course with this franchise. We’ll end up cutting Quinton Coples and Damontre Moore and probably Logan Thomas too next season.

  13. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I don’t see any reason to keep Mike Tannenbaum around, or Dennis Hickey either for that matter. I hope to see neither of those guys here next season

  14. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I bailed on the game at 16-0. Some of my family were coming back from the Giants game and then some friends stopped by so I said fuck it, I’m not sticking with this. I felt like the final score would be 29-10 or something and it was 30-14 so I was right it wasn’t worth it. They’ve mailed it in.

I still have no idea what will happen with the regime/coaching staff so I guess that’s what we have to look forward to. Then we can all debate whether it was the right move or not. LOL

It’s amazing that at 5-9 we currently have the #10 pick in the draft. That just goes to show you how much bad football has been played this year.

  15. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Tim

I look forward to debating who we’d rather face in the playoffs and why, and which guy deserves MVP more than this guy, rather than who needs to be cut, which coach deserves to be fired more etc, but that’s what this franchise continues to serve up to it’s fans. It’s got to end at some point.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

What year would that be? I’ll put it on the calendar. 2017 is out because I’m going to live in a rock in Nepal so I have no idea what sports are. But I’m free in 2018 or at least part of it. I’m looking into living in the sea a bit that year so I have no idea what sports are. So maybe 2019 would be a safe date for that.

  16. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

    Funny stuff, Piggy!

  17. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Tim

There’s always next year. Make the right moves, you can turn things around and see it pay dividends right away. make the wrong moves, and it will be just like it’s been the last 15 or so years

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

That’s true. I think we’re all at the point where we’ll believe it when we see it.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Its pretty shitty that its the same thing over and over again
      I don’t get it
I’m ready to start blaming Ross simply bc he is the top guy in the organization….lol

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

You’ll just be wasting your breath or stressing your typing muscles. It’s funny how one more loss creates new opinions as if it wasn’t already bad a few weeks ago. Did yesterday really create new feelings? Not for me, I just decided I wasn’t going to continue watching.

  18. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Tim
I don’t really have any new opinions
I barely even watched the game to be honest

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yeah same here. I could tell they packed it in. It’s human nature when you know you’re playing for nothing. It’s been a bad season since the start and I’m sure most of the team just wants it over with.

  19. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Pig — you used great art and produced great art.

That was one of the most innovative and inspired posts ever, and the message within was not abstract. Really inspired.

  20. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

I have stopped going to the bar to watch the games. I am streaming the radio broadcast instead and watching the games that FOX and CBS provide locally. It’s bad enough to sit and watch them lose, but to have to pay the bar tab at the end just rubs salt in the wound..LOL

  21. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

It’s not necessarily new opinions, it’s just new information becomes available every week, like how we left ourselves way short on the O-line. I know we have injuries there, and we also have injuries along the D-line too. It’s just that even the meaningless moves we make even seem fucked up. lol

  22. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Bookman

I hear that. I’ll watch the game at home, but I will not be investing any more cash on this team at a bar.

  23. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

“Miss Puerto Rico was suspended from the Miss America pageant on Sunday after going on a Twitter tirade against Muslims and filmmaker Michael Moore.

In a since-deleted series of tweets, Destiny Velez, went after Moore’s #WeAreAllMuslim campaign and claimed Muslims deserve the discrimination they’re receiving…. ”
    —————————-

Man — guess beauty pageant contestants really aren’t that smart. She ran for the wrong one — if she’d tried for Ms. USA thaose tweets would have guaranteed the crown, maybe even the one for Ms. Universve……..both of which are run by Trump.

  26. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

He’s probably disappointed in the team’s effort even more.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

He actually says the effort was there but the execution was not……..not sure if that goes on the players or the coaches or is just a “I take the blame as HC” thing.

  29. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Bookman
I hear you on not going to the bar

I am not going to Slattery’s every game like I have been
I spend to much $ to watch a game and drink too much
yesterday I watched the game at a friends apt (he is a chargers fan and has direct TV)
and I only had a couple of beers

I probably won’t watch the colts game…but who knows

    • bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

      Piggy,

The problem for me is, I drink more when the Dolphins do stupid things, I really need to only drink when they are playing well……..my bar tab would be $10.00 and that would be only for the food.

  30. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

The Phins need to put an offer sheet in front of Lamar Miller asap before the FA period starts or he’s gonna bolt. He may bolt regardless now after being sat again in the 2nd half.
Word is, he wasn’t happy, and who could blame him!

So to add insult to injury for Dolphins fans, we’ll likely be watching him on Sports Center every week making huge plays for the Cowboys, Broncos, or Patriots.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Bad day for Steve Harvey. Seems when you host the pageant the key thing is to get the winner right. Ends up who my household was rooting for won on a stat correction though. 🙂

  32. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

    Piggy,

I am the same way. I am angry, been drinking, then either fork over money for a cab, or walk a half hour to get home. None of that is worth it anymore….at least not at this point of this season.

The Patriots don’t usually pay for guys like that.

Why was he benched in the 2nd half, to keep him fresh for next year? LOL

    Tim,
Isn’t it obvious why he was benched? He already had 9 carries by halftime, and there was no way they were going to let him have double digit carries this week after they almost burned him out last week….plus it was a short week….come on man…think!!!

  34. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The best place for Miller would be in Denver in Kubiak’s offense. He’d beat out Hillman and Anderson easily. He’d rush for over 1,500 yards easily in that system.

  35. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

    Piggy,
This probably best describes the Dolphins

  36. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

I can’t imagine Denver would bother signing Miller.
CJ Anderson & Hillman are a productive combo and don’t cost them much.
Same go for the Patriots who drafted James White a couple years ago and now have him in the mix.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

I was just trying to throw names out there on the cuff. You may be right. Point is, some team with a chance to win their division will be vying for his services.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Hillman and Anderson aren’t anything special. I’m not saying they will sign Miller just saying that would be a good fit for him because he’d get the ball and be very productive.

  37. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

Now Dallas? I can see Jerry lusting for another star RB again. However, he seemed to have shown his limits on what he’d spend for a RB when Murray walked to Philly for more $.

    Omar Kelly ✔ @OmarKelly
Defense. Offense engaged to an average QB https://twitter.com/kipmoney/status/678976860827598848
    ________________________
What Omar & others fail to realize is the other side of the coin. The ‘average’ QB is engaged to a below average offense & a down right BAD defense. But that shouldn’t have any effect on him, naw, not at all. 🙄

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Omar doesn’t know what he’s talking about anyway. LOL

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

      ^affect^

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Omar is probably right, but as usual he points to Tanny. The real reason is after a couple seasons of concentrating on the O it is obvious that a lot of our draft and FA resources are going to go to the D. He’ll ignore that next year though and say……see I was right.

      • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

        Huh?

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Better improve that pass pro that was abysmal early in the game. I stopped watching so I have no idea if it continued to be bad or got better but it was a joke up until 16-0.

      • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Tim it got worse as the game wore on.
Chargers DC dialed up the blitz on every play. It was a nightmare of jail breaks every snap. Looked like a high school OL vs. an NFL pass rush.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

GDP was saying that Omar will probably be right that the D is what improves more next year but not for the Tanny Bash reason he puts out.

  39. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

    GD, that’s what I figured.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Giants did the same, and so on. Teams have read how this Miami offense deploys their pathetic formations and what they run out of them. It’s no mystery to opposing defenses what’s coming.
Just pin your ears back and pin the nail on the QB!
It’s truly AMAZING that Tanny is still walking around. It really is. I hope they bench him for final 2 games so we can avoid a serious injury that may take 9-12mos to recover from.
Then we’d be really stuck like chuck and no viable HC candidate would want to come here.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

When you basically only run 3 running plays out of shotgun and you lineup in shotgun most of the time, it’s easy to play defense. Stop the run on the way to the QB.

  40. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

I wish we could hear from John Benton again. Is he suddenly this bad, has he been handed nothing but crap personnel, or is it more likely the horrible scheme that was installed by Lazor the past 2 off seasons?
    My guess is the latter!

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

What he did in Houston was under Kubiak where they don’t play in shotgun all the time, they use a lot of under center and play-action passing. The big difference is they committed to the running game and had more options with running plays so the pass pro isn’t put on their heels all game.

This offensive scheme is the worst I’ve ever seen.

      • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

That’s my point. He & his unit have clearly been handcuffed by an inept scheme. I’ve been shouting this from the Blog Tops for awhile now.

On both sides of the ball you have to install a scheme that first & foremost is designed to win the trench battle. From there everything else can flow accordingly.

When will we have coaches that understand that BASIC football concept. This fancy dancy BS doesn’t work in the long run!!! SMH!

  41. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Stanger, you’re probably right. The Defense has nowhere to go but up from 32nd in stopping the Run.
    28th in points allowed
    30th in total yards allowed
    26th in sacks….and so on.

I’m glad Suh was the missing piece that this team needed to get over the hump from the last 3 seasons under this regime.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

And that was another angle on it I hadn’t considered. When you are knocked out on the floor, you might not get up but only one direction to go in if you do move.

  42. New Age's avatar New Age says:

    Piggy,

Awesome article and it did make me laugh. The Vernon carrying Wake was really funny even though the real occurrence was horrible.

This is the hardest it’s ever been for me to stay a fan of this team. The extremely dirty play of the benching of Miller just angers me. You don’t give up on a guy like him that early and now I really believe they left him out of last weeks second half just to screw his market over. That sits really bad with me.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Mando says that the RB coach told Campbell to let him sit awhile yesterday because he banged his quad up in the 2nd quarter, so Campbell agreed since they had Ajayi.
But still doesn’t explain the other games, besides the obvious incompetent offensive scheme & play calling.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Not sure about you New Age — but I view the team like certain members of my family. Would never choose it now, but got no real choice in the matter.

      • New Age's avatar New Age says:

Lol, true but I have family I dont see anymore because of the way they are.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Wish I could do the same, but the way it worked out I sorta (well actually did) become the caretaker for my brother and sister. Wish, wish they were just capable enough where that wasn’t necessary.

Absolutely agreed. That’s why when someone is being an asshole, then they say, I was just joking…they were really telling the truth. 🙂

  44. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

We didn’t move up the list yesterday, but then we didn’t move down. Might be hard to hope for the Phins to lose………but root like hell for big AFC upsets in the next two games. From Hyde:

“There won’t be any appreciable change in the draft order from Sunday. The Dolphins entered the day with the eighth overall draft pick. Five of the seven teams before them lost. Another, Detroit, plays Monday night. And the final team ahead of the Dolphins is San Diego, which moved to 4-10.”

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

What is he talking about? We’re #10 and the Chargers are #4.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

He was saying the only team with a better draft choice going into last weekend that won was the Bolts. At least according to him though, we were #8 going into last weekend. That was mainly cause of SOS though. That can shift……….and our last game against the Pats will not help in that.

  45. New Age's avatar New Age says:

I don’t know how we improve at this point. Someone in this organization has been responsible for us losing tons of talent the last few years. We have zero guys from our 2009 draft(not a good one). 2 of 7 for 2010, 1 of 6 for 2011, 4 of 7 for 2012(good draft), 4 of 9 from 2013(bad draft), 6 of 8 for 2014, and of course all of our last group. Out of 41 guys drafted from 2009-2013, we still have 11 guys.

You just can’t build a solid team if you are buying someone else’s goods all the time and not making your own better or keeping them(for whatever reason).

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Good point, glad you looked up the numbers. But many of those departed guys haven’t been stars elsewhere. The drafting under Jeffro was horrible to average at best of times. Hickey has done fairly good, but now Tannenbaum is in the mix. Plus it takes awhile to restock after the Ireland years.
That same poor drafting was also met and paired with BAD coaching as well. Not a good mixture for any kind of success.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Gonna be a new world next year.

Think the big Q is if it is Tannenbaum and someone else or Ross tosses the keys to someone and says “you are driving.”

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

That’s the biggest question. Does Tannebaum stay or does Ross give a top coach, footbal czar etc. whoever that may be the power.

  46. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Stanger, I thought he said the Chargers went from pick #4 to pick #10 with the win not that it’s their record. LOL

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

The worst proof reader and speller on the board will be the last one to criticize you for that. 🙂

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Every mock draft I’ve checked and it’s not a lot of them has us taking LBs Jaylon Smith, Miles Jack or Reggie Ragland.

  47. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

Two things from the painful game I watched yesterday…..
Anyone see Suh out of the DE position yesterday? He destroyed the RT. Maybe there’s something to be explored there.
Jamil Douglas might not be a bad option at C if the Fins decide to move on with Pouncey

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We just re-signed Pouncey to an extension.

I think Suh could play DE in a 3-4 to. He could play anywhere actually.

The way to start fixing the talent issue is to hit on draft picks, and next year, even undrafted free agents. We have to fill out a roster, and I think we need to shed ourselves of the fat.

  52. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

    Stanger,
Not much of a hit with Pouncey….
He’s only guaranteed $11 mill that he’s taking this year.
If he’s on the roster when the new NFL year starts next year; he’s guaranteed another $11 ($9 mill base for 2016 YR; $2 of ~$8 mill base guaranteed for 2017).
The cap ramification for Pouncey going into 2016 is either a $10+ mill cap hit by way of being rostered or a $4 mill dead cap hit if he’s cut.
He’s in the top 3-5 highest paid centers in the NFL which seems like wasted production from the Fins offensive standpoint. I don’t think an alternate C would be MUCH worse for this offense at moment.

If we can’t upgrade the talent in a major way, then we need to bring in a coach that fits the description of this famous quote “he can take his’n and beat your’n and he can take your’n and beat his’n.” Or do we only get one of those guys in a lifetime?

I don’t think just because someone else did it it makes it okay. Not only the crap he got away with Norman, but after he scores to tie the game he hops up on the bench and does this whole me thing to the fans. I found it annoying and me first. By the way Odell, you lost and your team is 6-8.

    • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

I don’t know if we can infer that- they are individuals- but Odell may have let the world see who he is yesterday. Now it’s possible that other db’s (think Cortland Finnegan-types) can get under his skin a little and knock him off his game. Not saying it’s likely, just saying it’s possible.

Norman is a dick head himself so that’s why I didn’t care much for what OB was doing. He got what he deserved.

There’s no place for violent retaliation cause you are dropping passes.

  58. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

$22 mill guarantee is false…only the signing bonus and current year salary is guaranteed. Either way, it’s not likely he will be cut as you mentioned. Football contracts can be confusing lol. He got 11 this year from 6 base + 5 bonus. The bonus money is spread over 5 years at 1 mill each so this year the Fins expensed 1 of the 5 mill bonus money. Next year, Pouncey’s 2016 base + 2 mill of his 2017 ~8 mill base is guaranteed based on whether he’s rostered by the 5th day of the NFL’s 2016 calendar year.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

So maybe he has one of those cut buy a certain day moments coming up.

  79. D's avatar D says:

When it comes to Tanny, i didnt expect him to finally arrive this year. I never expected we would be talking about him in the same breath as Rogers, or Brady, etc. I did however expet to see some decent steps forward and despite any of the TEAM failings, he didnt do this.

This is not to say we didnt have a lot of other people who were just as inept at their jobs, but as Try pointed out and i have tried to point out many times, the QB DOES have more expections on him. It the simple fact of the mater that that position holds responsibilities beyond just his own play. Obviously he, as FFR has satirically pointed out many times, block for himself, or catch the ball for himself, or kick the ball, etc., but the rhythm of the offense, keeping the team focused and all that does rely headily on him. He has not shown an ounce of leadership this year, and last year i though he did a really good job there. So i have NEVER said he was the only one failing but it seems that every time i point out where he does fail i get it thrown back in my face about all the others.

He also though has failed to progress on things that are PERSONAL skills. Things that only he can improve on and things that no one else could prevent him from improving on. He isnt reading the defense any better, he isnt getting through his progressions better. His pocket presence is still horrid. His accuracy was worse than last year. In fact i can see several areas he failed to improve on and some he declined in. When we signed him to that contract i felt certain we were investing in a guy who was worth it, and now im at a point where im hoping this year was a fluke, and he goes back to showing continued growth and improvements next year.

I sorta get how some of you guys feel that the rhetoric from some here who never liked him is continuation of the same, but there are several here who took the rose colored glasses of this year with him, so that should say something. Im not one to condemn without reason, and im finding plenty of reason with him this year.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

I think many, not all, but most of Tanny’s regressed type areas are mainly due to what was installed on this offense. It’s the worst approach & lack of identity that I’ve ever seen or can remember. Then you add a horrible defense that severely regressed along with ST’s, and you have a 5-0 team just playing out the string of confusion and delusion.

  80. D's avatar D says:

OBJ did deserve what he got, so did Norman. Norman did a bunch dirty shit before OBJ started retaliating. They both deserved and ejection that game and a suspension for the next.

  81. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

Feeding the RB serves to limit the opposing team’s offensive chances vs the team’s defense which should be a good strategy these days for Miami in consideration of the sad defensive output.

The run game also serves to tire out the opposing defense.

DL have to use more energy when taking on OL going forward than when in a pass rush situation so even if the result of a run play is NO YARDS, the defense has taken on another jab that could break them down in the 2nd half of a game.

The frequency of single back / shotgun formation is also puzzling considering Miami is not that strong with their core OL

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

It’s so puzzling it almost seems like they purposely did this to undermine the team. The down and distance calls were constantly baffling and so out of the ordinary you’d think our OCs were moles.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Correct, having a sound committed run game serves a two fold purpose that results in Wins a very high percentage of the time when you can rush for over 25x a game.

  82. D's avatar D says:

I hope we put effort into resigning Miller, but i dont think it gets done before FA, unless we are Johnny on the spot getting a new coach. Miller pretty much said in a recent interview that if he doesnt get some sort of assurance in way of number of touches a game, he will seek out another team that can. I dont blame him, but i hope we can bring someone in that will convince him to stay, because he is the only player we have as a FA i really dont want to lose.

We are asking position coaches that are unqualified to change things up but they don’t have a damn clue what’s going on and just do the same things.
