What Hulk Think – Head Coaches

hulk-computer (1)

By Dr. Bruce Banner

So Hulk watch another disappointing loss and Hulk not even get angry. Hulk just sit there and think what can Hulk write about this week? Another poor job by offensive line. Another poor job of watching defense let opposing team convert 3rd and long after and 3rd and long. Another piece about whether Tannehill is good or bad? Hulk say enough of all this. Hulk want to start looking to the future so Hulk write about 5 possible head coaching candidates and whether or not they good fit for this failing team.

So before Hulk think about head coaches for next year Hulk think what criteria or credentials should the coaching candidates have before team consider hiring them. This is what Hulk think: Whoever the next head coach is must be somebody that has track record of working and developing young QBs. Hulk say regardless of whether or not you believe Tannehill is the quarterback of the future or if the Phins should draft a guy like Lynch, Goff or Cook we are going to need someone who can work with and develop a young quarterback. However, whoever the next head coach is must also be somebody that has skill and knowledge in building a defense. I know this sound like polar opposite but when you look at team there will be almost complete rebuild of defense. On the line Vernon is likely gone. Wake is aging and coming back from major injury. There needs to be a serious infusion of talent at linebacker and we only have one defense back that is any good. With this in mind Hulk look at some names being mentioned for head coach.

Hue Jackson: He has an excellent track record with quarterbacks. He salvaged Carson Palmer’s career when he traded for him as head coach of the Raiders. He now turn around career of Andy Dalton who after last season many Bengal fans were ready to run out of town. Dalton have fine year and now Bengal fans be worried that he no be healthy for playoffs. Oh, the irony. Yes, Hulk like irony. However, there are drawbacks. Jackson have no real defensive experience. He will have to rely on a good defensive coordinator hire. He had only 1 year of head coaching experience with Raiders and did alright taking the team to an 8-8 finish and then was summarily fired by old Al Davis who may or may not have been dead by that time.

Darrell Bevell: He too has done excellent job in developing a young quarterback in Russell Wilson. He has taken Wilson from game manager to game breaker. You can see his development this year given all the injuries to Seahawk running backs. Wilson is now focus of offense and he now on fire as team heads into playoffs. Hulk like being on fire. Bevell also know how to run ball, especially with power back. He would be good fit with Ajayai. But there are drawbacks with Bevell as well. He would be 1st time head coach and there will be a learning curve. He too no really have any experience in running a defense except for seeing a good one every day in practice. Also there was horrible play call at end of Superbowl. How much that have Bevell’s fingerprints on it Hulk no know but it smacks of a Lazor play call being too cute when no have to be.

Chuck Pagano: He likely not back as Colts head coach. He has developed young quarterback in Andrew Luck and made Colts instant playoff team. He also is former defensive coordinator and certainly no stranger to building a defense. So what not to like? Well there is fact that he no get along with dysfunctional owner and front office. Many accuse Miami having dysfunctional owner and front office. Not sure Pagano will be good fit with current front office structure. Also, Pagano’s Colts have struggled mightily against Pats, especially in playoffs.

Mike Smith: He too like Pagano has developed a young quarterback who has turned franchise into instant playoff team. He too like Pagano was a former defensive coordinator and no stranger to building a defense. So again what not to like? Well there is Smith’s playoff record which is full of one and dones in the playoffs. He also went from a head coach who built a balance offense to a head coach who came to rely too heavily on passing game by end of his tenure in Atlanta. Also for being such a good defense mind he never really turned Falcons into good defense team. Falcons won because of offense with defense being constant problem.

Josh McDaniels: He is considered offensive guru. He coach under the almighty Bill Billecheat. He coach Tom Brady. He has coached a team to playoffs including beating good Steelers team in playoffs. He is supposedly on everyone’s short list for head coaching candidates and will be able to pick and choose where he want to go. So what not to like? Well for such an offensive guru he invested a 1st round draft choice in some guy named Tebow. This make Hulk think he no know his backside from his elbow about quarterbacks. He also have stink of Patriots on him. He too like Pagano had stormy relationship with front office and owner and may not be good fit for current structure of Miami front office.

Hulk know there are and will be other names for head coaching candidates such as Sean Payton and John Harbaugh. Hulk did not consider them as Hulk think they unlikely to be Phin’s coach next year. But Hulk sure there are many other names out there that are likely to be considered but Hulk think the 5 listed above are the most likely candidates. What you guys think?

Post Script (Yes Hulk know fancy literary term): Breaking news from Philadelphia; Hulk now know what would make him angry – Hiring this guy:

Hey, I’ve eaten tons of squirrel in my life. It’s actually really good! Lol

And by the way, I’d be happy if they found a way to draft Desmond King. I’m not sure yet if he’s a top end guy, but the kid is a baller. I want guys like him on our team.

    • D says:

Pretty good but very little meat to them. I use to go squirrel hunting with my dad when i was younger, but i eventually just got to where i couldnt stomach killing them. Im not one of those hippie dippies that believe meat/hunting is murder, but i prefer feeding them and watching them to skinning them and eating them.

      • Tim Knight says:

So when you go squirrel hunting do you just sit on your porch and shoot them out of the trees, or do you actually do this? LOL

  2. D says:

Miko horrible, and i think the way she acts brings a lot of the vile reactions she gets. That said, think what Randy is saying is dont stoop to that level firing back at her. I hope they just get rid of Brent so she becomes some other team’s problem.

    • Tim Knight says:

We’re on a blog, our comments aren’t being discussed in the public arena. Randy is only sticking up for her because she agrees with him about Tannehill. LOL

Randy, is this not distasteful & rude?

…or how bout her posting pics on social media of xrated dick cakes with her sucking Grimes & another one of her taking it from behind.
She’s a class act alright. What an awesome public figure that all young girls can aspire to….SMH!

    Randy,

With respect to Leadership, IMO that is completely dependent on those being led. Their opinion is what matters. You are right, we do not know who the players view as a leader and what goes into being one for them with respect to the things we cannot see. I am not necessarily debating whether Tannehill is a leader or not, but rather it really only matters what his teammates think, and I am not sure what that is.

  5. Randy says:

I have no clue what Grimes truly feels. I was just saying it’s possible he signed those contracts simply…or mostly…for the money…..or he loves living in Miami…or he likes having sex with flamingos. Just like Tanny may have. None of us can know that sorta thing about any player.

Technically you can do a public search and find stuff posted here, or at least i know you could not too long back.

  7. Randy says:

LOL. Just so we’re clear. I was NOT sticking up for Miko. And, I was not telling other people what to say or not say. Have at her if you like….she brings it on herself! I was simply stating my own preference of not going there. For me, I really don’t care what she says or does.

Didnt see many trees in that picture, so probably not like that, but yeah we use to go into the woods, same as when we went deer hunting, etc.

    • Tim Knight says:

Part of the joke was you’re marching to the trees in all that gear when you could have just stayed at home and shot them in your underwear. LOL

  9. Randy says:

    Tim,
Actually, hunting squirrel is pretty boring. They’re skittish, and so you basically sit in a spot for hours picking them out of trees if they move. Then, go find another spot to sit for a few more hours and repeat. Fun shooting though because you have to be very accurate.

There is a lot to leadership. Characteristics dont always mean that people who follow them like them, but they follow them regardless because they inspire confidence that they are taking them in the right direction. They do what they have to to make things happen. They take control when things are out of hand, etc. He showed a lot more last year in those regards, a LOT more. This year he didnt really seem to do that. I remember distinctly last year him getting in people faces, straightening them out, establishing his place as the leader and getting a control over situations, this year really not much of that at all, i dare say any.

Incidentally and aside from this when i typed situation above i originally erroneously typed it as shituation… which ironically better describes our “situations” this year lol.

    ———————————————————-
True lol, and i was being a smart ass about the picture since the one you posted and asked me if it was like that had no trees in it lol. Either way, we generally consider the ones around our houses to be pets. I sped a decent amount buying food to feed them around my house. Helps if you have a little garden too because they will generally keep coming back to the place you feed them at instead of wandering around, finding your garden and eating all that stuff.

    • wyoming85 says:

That’s because those guys in that pic were duck hunting!

    • Tim Knight says:

D, our garden was basically all over our backyard this year and the squirrels live in all the trees around our house and neighbors. We’re going to build a more fenced in garden next year so that might help, but right now they can eat anything we grow. But like you, I don’t want to harm them so we deal with it.

  14. Rockphin says:

I don’t much care for the taste of squirrel. I like shooting them. I just don’t want to waste my time gutting and cleaning them. I’m perfectly happy just killing the little furry tailed rats and letting them rot in the sun! I FUCKING HATE SQUIRRELS!

  25. Rockphin says:

I used to have a lot of song birds living around my house when I was up in Rockledge. Cardinals, blue jays, these bright yellow birds with red crests (not sure what they were) but my wife (ex now) had a bird feeder and the tree rats would raid it every time she would fill it. So I moved the feeder. Then I moved it again, then I put a pole in the ground in the middle of the yard and mounted it there, then I made a cone / collar around the pole so they couldn’t climb it but the little bastards would go up on the roof and leap across the 15′ from the roof to the pole so I moved the pole again. Then the disgusting vermin would run at the pole jump up and karate kick it to make it bounce back and forth and knock the see out of it. Then I bought a pellet rifle…..

  30. herdfan says:

Squirrels are very resourceful. Do you think they could put together a decent O line?

  31. Randy says:

    D,
I’ve watched this team fail in big moments for years. I have not seen a leader step up and lead this team to victories very often. I don’t consider getting in someone’s face necessarily a good thing or a sign of a leader. It all depends on the player and the situation. Everybody’s right. There are lots of facets to leadership.
    ***
Anyway, I hate this conversation because it is just so subjective. Leadership can be hard to quantify.
    ***
And, that’s why you shoot about a dozen squirrel….there ain’t a lot of meat there. We usually hunted with 5 or 6 guys. Rabbits are just meatier and much fatter, but I like the taste of squirrel better myself….very, very lean.

  33. Randy says:

    herd,
Squirrels are quick little critters and a good fit for a zone blocking scheme, so you’re either on something…or onto something.

  34. Randy says:

    Tim,
It’s actually like eating a meaty piece of jerky. We were shooting lean squirrels in the woods, not these huge monsters people see in their backyards that are fed daily by everyone in the neighborhood! Lol
    ***
It’s a very lean, almost stringy consistency sometimes. It tastes almost nutty to me…probably because of their diet in the wild.

  35. Randy says:

Lol @ Tim. No. Not that sort of nutty…love Austin Powers though.

If you don’t like gamey….don’t eat squirrel unless you buy it at the store.

Anyone seen what Gills has done in the past few weeks?

In Week 14 against the Eagles, Gillislee had three carries, and one of them was a 19-yard touchdown. In Week 15 against Washington, Gillislee had four carries, and one of them was a 60-yard touchdown. In Week 16 against the Cowboys, Gillislee had nine carries, and one of them was a 50-yard touchdown. Gillislee has 23 carries for 239 yards this season, an average of 10.4 yards a carry. If he keeps this up on Sunday against the Jets, he’ll be the first player in NFL history to finish a season with more than 20 carries and an average of more than 10 yards a carry.

I have a feeling the Jets win easily.

      Awesome!!!

There has always been this mystery and accusations about Jimmy Page and Satanism but that’s not what he was into. He was into Talismanic Magick, Hermeticism and even some Alchemy. But he never worshiped a devil or anything like that. Because some of this is linked to Aleister Crowley he was deemed a Satanist because that’s how the public viewed Crowley. But like many things, it was very misunderstood. Page was interested in biology as a kid and that’s what he was going to study when he was young before music became his main passion. So his interest in life and how things work was always there. He was just a very curious dude. He said the magick he did practice worked for him.

So like Rock & Roll which is the devil’s music, so were forms of magic and other things mysterious and unknown.

      • getterdone says:

Yeah, like a lot of misguided youth & that era, they wanted to see what the unknown was. Didn’t mean it would become a lifelong obsession.
I went there too as a youngster out of curiosity. Now as an adult I grew into a different person with a broader knowledge & awakenings. I’m still growing & learning, but in a positive light.
Anyhow, I always thought that was one of their great songs that went under recognized, more so because it’s too long to play on commercial radio stations back in the day.

  60. Mike E. says:

All those rock and rollers were into mischief back then. remember that story I told you guys about Grace Slick, when i was researching Marty Balin? If you don’t recall, she was invited to the White House, because she went to college with Patricia Nixon, and she had full intentions of slipping Nixon a mickey, a tab of LSD, but when security guards at the White House recognized her as Grace Slick (Her invitation was under her maiden name, and therefore went unnoticed), they threw her out before she got her chance. Now that would be footage never forgotten seeing Nixon on acid.

it may sound harsh, but just some things in life i think need to be met with harsh punishment, you harm a woman or a child, you are a despicable man and you need to be dealt a slow, painful, torturous death.

    • stangerx says:

Leaving aside that in this case Cosby ain’t facing the death penalty…………I would just do what is cost efficient. No one who does murder one or other capital crimes is really worried about lethal injection versus life. If anything locking them up and letting them think about what they did might be even worse.

  68. finfanrob says:

    piggy,

so what, i am sure those women died a lot after he raped them. again, he deserves his day in court. but i seriously doubt he has been hurt more then those women.

    • The Flying Pig says:

      I don’t disagree

but the crime is so old now
as a lawyer I dread having to prosecute a case so old

      time wreaks havoc on evidence

At the end of the day I question whether he will ever go to prison
That sounds like a hard case to win against him

There is some justice in the destruction of his public persona
      which is everything to him
I think that is the most justice we get

  69. Tim Knight says:

Cosby is the classic wolf in sheep’s clothing. He deceived a lot of people for a long time. It’s another example of do you really know someone?

  70. getterdone says:

  71. Tim Knight says:

Stanger, I’ll check out that Bowie doc. Never thought of him as a musical genius, good vocalist and performer/artist, his music to me was always okay. Not that it isn’t quality, just not my thing most of the time. So much more I’d rather listen too.

    • stangerx says:

Never thought of him that way either, but then I watched. Not saying he is Mozart, but I at least saw more talent than I thought was there…….even if attached to a pretty weird bird, but that makes it even more interesting to watch.

      • Tim Knight says:

And Tim — part of why I thought you might like is — like Bowie or not — it gave a lot more insights into the production of the music than any mainstream thing I’ve seen. Might be old hat to you but it was new to me.

i dont doubt that cosby will either be found not guilty or die before the case is finished. and you are right, his public persona is destroyed. which if guilty it should be and rightfully so

    • The Flying Pig says:

destroyed is actually putting it lightly

a guy, on the link I posted, accused his of raping his sheep

Dimples ran when Dimples was shown a photo of Cosby
      case closed

i kind of get he isnt up for the death penalty. and you are right, the death penalty is too easy for some.

my point was more the penalty for rapist or child molesters should be cruel and inhuman. they are, to rape a woman or molest a child makes you inhuman, you should be treated as such.

    For you Piggy. LMAO!!!

  76. herdfan says:

Even if Cosby were to be convicted, whatever prison time would probably be served in some kind of ‘special’ cell, away from the general prison population due to his celebrity. There really is no ‘justice’.

really??? so he is 78 and now at the end of his life his rep is destroyed, oh poor baby, ok poor thing, i am sorry his rep was destroyed so harshly.

when he ruined how many women’s lives much younger in life and they had to live with what he did to them.

    • The Flying Pig says:

      I’m making a joke
read the link about the sheep named dimples….lol

I not making an argument for Cosby
“destroyed” was my word BTW, not finding fault with your use of it
      I used it too

I’m not being argumentative on this subject
I hope he dies when his penis falls off, and then defies gravity and lands on his head, crushing his skull

  78. finfanrob says:

    piggy,

hold on, first let me just say, but no means what so ever did i not think you were in any way shape of form saying anything nice about the slime.

i thought i was just adding on to what a despicable man he is. sorry if i came across different.

    • The Flying Pig says:

it sounded like you thought I was disagreeing
      I’m not
I’m just making light of him being a jerk

but I don’t think he is gonna see any jailtime

  79. Tim Knight says:

Stanger, Bowie is interesting I’ll check it out. Thanks!

He’ll conveniently die before any prison sentence is served, assuming conviction of course.

yep, i agree with that, even said it earlier. which may even be a better punishment for him, he lives out the rest of his life battling this in court and dies before any verdict so the public perception is he is a rapist

  81. finfanrob says:

    piggy,

nope didnt take it that way. but he is way more then a jerk. but no worries.

Two people I was not impressed with this bowl season. Paxton Lynch and Germain Ifidi there OT from Texas a&m. There lbers out of auburn and LSU looked good. Carl Lawson looked decent

Alright- saw The Force Awakens. I think it is getting more accolades because of the numbers of people seeing it, and not because it is a good movie. My opinion. Also, disappointed about a decision made in the movie. More specifically, I’m disappointed at what I think the real motivation for the decision was. I do not think it was to drive the story forward, but because of other, less honest reasons. By all means, go and see it. I saw it on 70′ screen in 3D. It’s all spectacle and special affects, so that was a great way to see it. But if you like a compelling story… Let me just say, so far the similarities in plot with the first films is fairly obvious- repetitive is a more accurate term. You’ve seen this movie before.

      Try,
I can appreciate your critique. They said while filming they were going back to the formula that made the original 3 successful. For me that made this movie awesome because I really did not care for the political plots and digital special effects they used in the newer films. I was OK with the simplistic plot of the new film, but I do think the story is moved forward, and the next movie will be key in further establishing the new character. In other words, I thought it was an excellent movie in re-introducing fans to the concept original 3 movies.

      • bookman11 says:

        “new characters”

      • Try Pod says:

I can’t go into why I feel this way without giving away parts of the story. And I won’t say anyone who doesn’t feel as I do is wrong or not being honest; much like the opinions on Tannehill, we each see what we see. But there is nothing new in this movie; protagonists have changed, names have changed, but:

Cosby won’t be convicted. 10 years after the fact, already having admitted consensual (he says) sex. I just can’t see how they can come up with enough evidence for a conviction. That’s not really the point though, I think.

Keep him fighting this, keep what he did in the news and on people’s minds. Make him a pariah that has to confront this and deal with this stuff every single day until the day he dies (just like all the women he abused have to). It’s the closest to justice he’ll ever come, this form of retribution. It’s far less than he deserves, but at least he doesn’t get to just quietly fade away.

What is the biggest similarity between a Dolphin home game and the Orange Bowl game….. the majority of the fans in attendance will not be Dolphins fans.
