What Make Hulk Angry – The Browns

incredible-hulk

By Dr. Bruce Banner

So Hulk watch Miami Dolphins score 30 points at home opener in fancy brand new stadium. So you think Hulk be happy. Of course not, you all know better than that. Hulk never happy. However, problem is not just that Hulk is not happy, Hulk is pissed. Hulk is enraged with anger at one of worst performances that Hulk ever watched against puny Browns team with rookie 3rd string QB. Hulk so angry that he can’t even go on a rant rather he just list all things that made him angry this past Sunday. So here it is:

Hulk is angry that:

That Ryan Tannehill looked like the game was too fast for him 5 years into his career;

That even though offense was sluggish it got going enough to give team a 24-13 lead halfway through 4th quarter to only have defense let a 3rd string quarterback and depleted corps of wide receivers come storming back;

That even though defense let offense down in 4th quarter when offense got the ball back they promptly did nothing to win the game;

That the run game looks completely out of sync and incapable of running out the clock when it needs to;

That when you have a running back by committee you do not have a true no. 1 running back;

That our linebackers look like they are trying to execute a Chinese fire drill as opposed to an NFL defense;

That Byron Maxwell is capable of making plays in the secondary but apparently only when he wants to;

That our offense keeps giving the ball away like it was re-gifting a bad toaster oven;

That for about the 10th year in a row the punter is the best player on the team;

That the Browns had effectively one player on offense, Tyrell Pryor, and despite knowing that we seemed incapable of devising any defensive scheme to stop him;

That Juan James once looked like a promising player as a rookie and is now working his way out of the lineup;

That Mike Pouncey can’t get back in the lineup;

That instead of playing up to the competition this team always finds way to play to down to the competition instead; and finally

That every year Hulk think it going to be different but no matter how much things change the results are always the same. Well, Hulk admits at least one thing different: For once the opposing team’s kicker missed a crucial kick, career long or team record long kick to beat us as time expired. So Hulk figure we got that going for us. Now Hulk smash!

    Stanger, I will be there. Were you drinking the other night when you asked and I answered? (I was) LOL I am looking tomorrow to see how much the rooms at laquinta are and will let you guys know if I’m going to stay down there or come home after D&B’s or wherever else we end up.
    ——————————-
    Probably was drinking Rock. but great that you are thinking getting a room. They are like a buck fifty or or something and if you get one you can catch a ride and both not have to pay the $40 parking fee. And nothing like having a designated driver out of the stadium. Mike E was mine the first two Fests.

      I should have room for 3 in my car, so I’d be happy to transport the intoxicated, as long as they hold their liquor inside their bodies. 🙂

      • stangerx says:

        Maybe you should think about raffling off spots in your car — you got an orange pass. The Mike E mobile is gonna cruise right in over ground others walk.

  5. Mike E. says:

    LOL Stanger – It’s my pleasure, just as it is yours to get the Fest going every year, which we all sincerely appreciate. That is supremely cool of you to do that.

    Not pictured from that night — a more than a few beers in Stanger blocking cars on the way out by popping into their headlight lit zone and giving the safety sign. No one seemed to mind though……quite the opposite.

    Gee thanks Mike ! Nice of you to offer. If you do not have enough room, I can always UBER it, or just tie me to the top of the car.

    “Now that you’ve seen 3 games, what’s your updated prediction for Miami’s won-lost record this season?” Thank you, again, for all you do for this site.–OD

  21. Tim Knight says:

    LOL @ Son

    Just Sunday driving around town? 😉

  22. D says:

    I hope to see us in a press-cover 1 scheme, and id have Jones in man on Green to assist whatever CB covers him. Isa stays deep to assist in zone, so that they dont rape us with the TE or RB if/when our LB’s cant keep them in front of them. I like our matchups otherwise, though a big guy like Cody Core might give us some trouble in one-on-one with Howard or Maxwell.

    • D says:

      LB play will really be big in this game i think, not that it cant be said in a lot of game, but with their run game, with Hill and Bernard, and the balanced abilities of their TE’s in both run and pass, our LB’s will need to be spot on and decisive in determining run/pass, and close gaps fast.

    • Tim Knight says:

      Both Jones and Isa play all roles at safety. I think scheme is less important than everyone being on the same page.

    Anyone else hoping at some point Drake takes off and becomes a difference maker? Yeah I agree. LOL
    ——————————————-
    I think he showed a pretty solid performance last game. He fought hard for yardage even after the point of contact. He drove through plays that looked dead to get extra yardage. He popped off a couple of nice receptions so far and flashed some dynamic ability. I want to see him get a little more of the share, maybe not a ton but i kepts wanting to know where the fuck he was later in the game. I think he has the best abaility of all of our backs and i like to see Gase focus on developing him more.

  24. drg says:

    Mike,

    Sorry it’s not email, but here’s my question:

    Give us a good 3 year plan to build a perennial playoff team from what Miami has right now.

    Both Jones and Isa play all roles at safety. I think scheme is less important than everyone being on the same page.
    —————————————
    Jones is really good in man, that’s why i was suggesting more one way vs the other, but they can flip them around im not suggesting Isa is always deep in zone. I think though if you are asking me my preference, id want to see more of Jones being the guy that the put in man on a guy for extra coverage, and/or used in blitzing situations or allowed to flaot/spy, because he is really good.

    • D says:

      Scheme though is important, because it determines how many you are playing deep, how many you have to do other things with. Scheme is exactly what people were talking abotu whent hey were asking if there should be a safety over the top, or two, etc. So question was about how we should scheme to cover Green.

    FFR: I understand, man, about you not being in the best frame of mind soon after a divorce. –Many on this site, including me, have been through this. Deshaun Watson
    Chad Kelly
    or
    DeShone Kizer

    jk/lol
    (maybe)
    ————————————–
    None of those guys really do anything for me. I think Kelly has something to build off of btu he really needs some work. The other two are playmakers, but i dont like them for the kind of offense Gase is looking to run. I would almost completely assure you, Gase wouldnt want to draft Kizer or Watson. Kaaya might be a different story. If i had a best fit for us that would be worth a first round selection id say its him. Kelley in the second wouldnt be awful, Im thinking more Luke Falk personally. Can get him a little later and i think he has some good upside.

    • son of a son of a shula says:

      Oh man you’re way ahead of me, I was just being a smart ass and listing the three most recognizable names I could come up with, lol.

      I’ll have to check out Falk

      • D says:

        Im not in a “We have to replace Tanny now, or this year” mode yet, shit keeps going this way and i will be by end of the year. I do believe this is a year we need to make QB a higher priority for draft, and depending on how the rest of the year pans out it could be anywhere from middle of the draft to 1st round.

  29. BoulderPhinfan says:

    I’m shocked that misis is injured after a couple of games.

    “Center Mike Pouncey, running back Arian Foster, linebacker Koa Misi and tight end Jordan Cameron will not play Thursday against the Bengals.”

    • son of a son of a shula says:

      4 vets who are supposed to be leaders

    • Tim Knight says:

      Maybe this is where Hewitt steps up even though Paysinger will probably get the first shot. But Jenkins is also banged up so I bet we see both play. Hewitt and 1 INT last year in limited play but also had two called back due to penalties. He’s an athletic guy who can match up.

      • D says:

        Hewitt is an absolute upgrade over Misi. Evne though he seems to be learning the system, Hewitt at least has the ability to run the wide 9 properly. I just dont see that dynamic with Misi.

    • D says:

      Good a chance for one of our younger guys to show them that they are better for our D than he is. Misi is a guy that does so many things right that you have hard time faulting for him not being good enough for your D. Sounds contradicting but he is technically sound, and i think that keeps him safe with the coaches, he just doesnt add the dynamic play ability we need to really run this wide 9 properly..

      • Tim Knight says:

        Misi is a stopgap at this time. I think his time in Miami is almost up. But that’s next year.

      • D says:

        As a backup, he is solid. I mean you can do WAY worse than him in a backup capacity. He can technically fill in for all 3 players. You just dont want to depend on him as a starter or to play a majority of plays. Rotate in rotate out, thats about as much as i really want to see him.

  31. BoulderPhinfan says:

    Tim,
    I heard VJ say that if misi can’t go Butler will get his shot.

  32. drg says:

    Son,

    Unless we end up with a top pick or someone falls to us, I think we need to build the team up before going with a new QB. Hell, I even think we can win with Tannehill if the team would just be smart about building up the roster properly.

  33. BoulderPhinfan says:

    D,
    I like hewitt a lot. I think he needs to develop more but I see glimpses of zach in Hewitt. I like his pursuit speed.

  34. Tim Knight says:

    D, both Alonso and Jenkins are UFAs next year and Misi will be on the last year of his restructured deal. I think youth at DE and a few new LBs will be priority next year both through FA and the draft. Piggy smiles. LOL

  35. BoulderPhinfan says:

    Did anyone really think Foster was gonna last more than a few games before he got injured?

  36. Tim Knight says:

    D, we signed Butler as a thumper. I remember reading that when we signed him. They wanted another LB who could play physical. It doesn’t mean he’ll play 50 snaps.

        Could you check with him? Would appreciate. I could but really hoping not to play Julie the coked out Cruise Director on such.

  38. D says:

    Jenkins is out best coverage LB. I dont think he has played well this year simply because i think there is some confusion and miscommunication between he and Alonzo. I think a lot of its on Alonzo to be honest. If i had to choose a guy to keep right now, id keep Jenkins, let Alonzo walk in FA, and re-sign Misi as a backup. Id try to grab a stud MLB in FA, draft a couple of guys to play OLB, and then let competition work out whome out of Hewitt, Jenkins and the two draftees played OLB. I wouldnt break the bank on Jenkins so if i had to let him walk so be it but he is pretty damn good in coverage, and thats not an easy thing to replace.

  39. Randy says:

    Is Burfict back for this game? He makes a big difference in their ability to stop the run.

  40. Tim Knight says:

    D, I think Jamie Collins is an excellent LB and like you said he moves around but he’s better suited outside to me. We do the same with Alonso, he also lines up outside and then in nickel it’s 2 guys inside or a matchup outside. Sub packages changes everything.

    Jenkins is pretty solid at MLB, wonder if we could try to flipflop he and Alonzo and see if Jelani just calls the D lineup better, and has better play recognition. I really dont know how well he would do that here, but he was the MLB for a time at UF and was good while he was there.

  45. son of a son of a shula says:

    The next four home games will be big if we can win most if not all of them!

    • stangerx says:
