What Make Hulk Angry – The Browns

incredible-hulk

By Dr. Bruce Banner

So Hulk watch Miami Dolphins score 30 points at home opener in fancy brand new stadium. So you think Hulk be happy. Of course not, you all know better than that. Hulk never happy. However, problem is not just that Hulk is not happy, Hulk is pissed. Hulk is enraged with anger at one of worst performances that Hulk ever watched against puny Browns team with rookie 3rd string QB. Hulk so angry that he can’t even go on a rant rather he just list all things that made him angry this past Sunday. So here it is:

Hulk is angry that:

That Ryan Tannehill looked like the game was too fast for him 5 years into his career;

That even though offense was sluggish it got going enough to give team a 24-13 lead halfway through 4th quarter to only have defense let a 3rd string quarterback and depleted corps of wide receivers come storming back;

That even though defense let offense down in 4th quarter when offense got the ball back they promptly did nothing to win the game;

That the run game looks completely out of sync and incapable of running out the clock when it needs to;

That when you have a running back by committee you do not have a true no. 1 running back;

That our linebackers look like they are trying to execute a Chinese fire drill as opposed to an NFL defense;

That Byron Maxwell is capable of making plays in the secondary but apparently only when he wants to;

That our offense keeps giving the ball away like it was re-gifting a bad toaster oven;

That for about the 10th year in a row the punter is the best player on the team;

That the Browns had effectively one player on offense, Tyrell Pryor, and despite knowing that we seemed incapable of devising any defensive scheme to stop him;

That Juan James once looked like a promising player as a rookie and is now working his way out of the lineup;

That Mike Pouncey can’t get back in the lineup;

That instead of playing up to the competition this team always finds way to play to down to the competition instead; and finally

That every year Hulk think it going to be different but no matter how much things change the results are always the same. Well, Hulk admits at least one thing different: For once the opposing team’s kicker missed a crucial kick, career long or team record long kick to beat us as time expired. So Hulk figure we got that going for us. Now Hulk smash!

Hulk know importance of kicking game:

    James will be ok but it’s time for him to go to another level. He has to get better in the run game we suck going over the right side. That’s despite getting beat a couple times in pass pro. He’s a first round pick who at this point has to start showing he’s ready to be a pro bowl player and not just a guy.

    I WANT to second everything YOUNG STANGER said about the Fins-Browns game –HE is the perfect person to see an NFL game with unless Mrs. OD decides to return to the stadium, (currently an unlikely prospect).
    ———————————
    In addition to what YS said, I’d add that parking at this game was FAR easier than at the U-Miami and Florida Atlantic game I attended 15 days earlier. Also, THE GAME was a thousand times better than last season’s home opener, a game I LEFT at the end of the 1st quarter with Buffalo leading 17-0!!
    ———-
    ANOTHER TIDBIT: The so-called “Lazy Boy Chair Seats” (which sell for $1,000 per game and UP) were almost one-third filled for this contest – – a RECORD since the installation of these seats which run between the 30-yard lines in the lower deck on the Miami side right behind the players bench up to about row 30. That said, though, they were STILL two-thirds empty. Elsewhere, it appeared to me the game was a complete sell-out as the last seats in the upper deck on each end zone were occupied.
    ———
    ONE FINAL OBSERVATION. The Dolphins, in reality, were no better than this Browns’ team that played with its 3rd and 4th string quarterbacks and without several other key starting players. Yes, driving 300 miles back to Tampa after the game was far more pleasant than driving home after a loss. BUT LET’s NOT kid ourselves: this 2016 edition of the Dolphins may actually be AS BAD AS LAST YEAR’S 6-10 team. An eighth consecutive losing season is a virtual certainty unless Tannenbaum can produce 2-3 more studs on defense before the bye week, also an unlikely prospect.
    _______

    About 10 minutes after I arrived in the parking lot to tailgate with “MY BOYZ,” I learned that Jose Fernandez had been involved in a fatal boating accident. It put a major damper on our usually boisterous pregame festivities. Jose was one of the greatest pitchers I ever saw, and I saw most of his starts over his too brief pitching career. Oh how he will be missed!!!

  71. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    I watched the debate last night, and I came away with a couple of things. Of course, this is just my viewpoint and opinion, and is up for debate in it’s own right. Trump still behaves like a fucking elementary school kid who can’t fucking stifle himself. He tried really hard in the beginning, but at some point he couldn’t hold it any longer. I think Trump hurt Hillary by his continuing needling about her experience and past failures, I think Hillary really hurt Trump on race and women, and I’m pretty damn sure that Lester Holt tried to torpedo Trump in this debate. He was definitely out to trip him up, and I didn’t see any of that type of questioning towards Hillary, which is a farce if you ask me.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      I didn’t like the moderator at all

      But I think Trump walked all over the moderator

      Trumps not going to change his behavior
      He’s over 60 and has been very successful
      Running for president is just a different dynamic and it’s hard to just change that overnight – but his supporters love him for it

      I thought Trump won the first 20 mins of the debate and then fell off a cliff defending himself and I think Hillary baiting him

      But early on I thought he got under Hillarys skin
      “That’s your opinion” by her was a horrible response

      But it fell apart from Trump
      And she looked better by the end – and that really undercuts the stamina/health stuff we’ve heard about her

  72. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    I also noticed 2 subjects were notably missing from the debates

    Benghazi and The Wall

    And I blame the candidates for not working those subjects in

  73. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    I also think Trump is in a tough spot

    His supporters want to see him rip into Hillary
    But it’s not exactly what appeals to moderates and/or independents
    And those are the people he has to sway to win the the election

  74. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    I also think Trump has to release his tax returns if he expects people to trust him. I think the more he hides behind his “lawyers told me not to” and “as soon as the audit is finished”, he looks like he’s lying and hiding something, which will hurt him IMO

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

      Well he’s definitely made the decision not to release…..so he is hiding something. And whatever hit he will take for not doing he clearly thinks would be greater than letting the public see the returns.

  75. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Why was Trump sniffing so much last night, did he do an 8-ball before the debate?

  76. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    The most ironic thing though is Hillary admonishing Trump for his treatment of women and she’s married to Bill Clinton. lol

  77. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

    “Trump still behaves like a fucking elementary school kid who can’t fucking stifle himself. He tried really hard in the beginning, but at some point he couldn’t hold it any longer.”

    Mike E — Completely agree except have to add that also through Trump was better than normal, especially compared to the GOP debates.

    Think his whole debate prep was his people telling him over and over again, “Donald you have to be a good boy for 90 minutes.”

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

      I think it comes down to whether people think he can be level-headed enough to hold the most important job in the world. I think people think he’s too reactionary, and they might be right.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      Well I didn’t leave the debates feeling like a illegal immigrant was going to crawl through my window and slit my throat – so he definately toned down the fear mongering

      Like I said – I think he’s in a tough position
      His supporters don’t want him to tone it down
      But yo win over moderates, he probably does

  78. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    I kinda think they have an understanding too Stanger

    If she wins she will probably be the first woman president and the first lesbian

    That’s why I said “some people think” – it’s looks like a political marriage to me

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

      From news reports it must be pretty much possible to figure out where Bill and Hillary were almost every day. If I was a reporter would do my research and publish a story on how many days in say 2014 (putting it before she was hitting the campaign trail.

      That would get national attention and bet you the answer is less than a month.

    wrong, the most ironic thing was her talking about how dangerous not having tougher internet security. how anyone in their right mind can vote for her after she just said that is beyond me.

It’s a new guy every play and we just have to kind of get back to basics and we have to get back to some of our fundamentals of being very gap sound (and) making sure everybody’s doing their job.”

      It might make her look sympathetic and he isn’t squeaky clean

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

      Yeah — what choices we have this year. The line from her that rang the most true from her last night was how Trump “creates his own reality.” Cause I agree. Having a guy lie that with his finger on the button, doing our diplomacy and in charge of our economy is a scary thing.

      but I promise you, if it comes up, a lot of married women who were cheated with men will get angry at Trump

      Trump can’t argue what you just did in the parameters of a debate or even an election
      He will just look like a jerk for bringing it up

  85. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

    Hulk, I hope this team gets better so you can smile again. 🙂

  86. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Watching those two teams (Mets and Marlins) hug last night was so damn touching to me. Tears were running down my face. I thought that was a great moment for sports and humanity. If only the debate could be the same way.

  87. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

    As for the debate, nothing that was said would change anyone’s mind about either candidate. We didn’t learn anything new and the main difference between the two is about taxes and the economy which is the typical same difference between reps and dems.

    I also don’t know why people continue to say trickle down economics didn’t/doesn’t work. It did and that’s how things work. People start businesses, provide jobs, grow businesses and provide more jobs. It’s not that complicated.

  88. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

    stanger,
    That’s what i thought when I read it first. I thought he was talking about suh as well. I think Gase thinks too many players are free lancing. Its the same shit different year IMO.

  89. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    mike

    i agree, watching himary and trump hug would send tears streaming down my face too

  90. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Boulder

    I thought it was implied that a lot of them are freelancing. “We’ve got to clean a lot of things up. It just seems like one person is taking their turn. It’s a new guy every play and we just have to kind of get back to basics and we have to get back to some of our fundamentals of being very gap sound (and) making sure everybody’s doing their job.”

    • D's avatar D says:

      I dont see freelancing at all in that statement. I think he was saying people are failing to execute and its a different person who is failing on fundamentals each time.

      • D's avatar D says:

        Freelancing is what Mando say to draw some attention, until Gase calls someone out for freelancing and its clear, i wouldnt read into things. Gase is really direct, and he would call that for what it was without question.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

        Sure there is, it’s right on top of “just like seems like one”. lol

  91. D's avatar D says:

    That was mando saying people were freelancing, not Gase. If you get freelancing out of Gase’s quote you are much better than me about reading in between the lines.

  92. D's avatar D says:

    Ive watched Suh pretty closely, he has been playing well and playing correctly. I have seen Alonzo on a lot of plays pick a different man to cover than looked to be his assignment. You can see it later in the play as he winds up trying to fall back recover and cover them. I have seen a few plays where the entire LB core was shadowing the same friggin player it was almost keystone cop looking.

  93. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

    D,
    this is the 2nd part of the quote from Gase. He did say freelancing

    “”We can’t have anybody freelancing. That’s a bad mix for a defense as far as if one guy is off in his zone, it kind of throws the linebackers off. Now all of a sudden our fits are wrong and that’s when you’re getting these 8-, 10-, 12-yard runs. The biggest thing, at least in my experience, is when you play a defense that is tough to run the ball against – they’re very sound, they tackle well – and really it’s that group, that seven or eight guys that are working together to make sure that everybody is doing their job correctly.”

      Gotta clean things up and it’s possible, that’s why I’m not ready to throw the season out after 3 games. LOL

      Yeah that’s definitely more clear. Still its doesnt really point a finger at any one person, though reading its still not clear which player r unit he is calling out. Usually when you say something about a DT they say, he isnt in his gap, not zone, zone is more what you say when you are talking about a LB, who is in containment or a safety who is being asked to run support. That said i did see Phillips shift a few times before the snap, one of them was really wierd, like the literally angled himself in the gap pre-snap and on that play they sealed him out to the inside. The back fortunately for us didnt cut back because there was a BIG gap on the cutback but he didnt see it until he was already stopped at the line, he cut back, but someone already had him by the legs. At first i thought Phillips had made an excellent play but after i looked at the replay you could see he got completely sealed out.

        I think he’s saying it’s not just one guy but someone different doing it each time.

        I saw Phillips get totally washed away on one run that opened a huge hole in the middle and I was like geez Phillips, you got totally dominated there and that should not happen.

        That’s exactly what I said above Tim. It’s a new guy on every play

    The debate last night didn’t change anything for anyone, IMO. Whether you’re a Trump or Hillary supporter or neither. What did either say that would make you go, oh now that’s something I didn’t know. There was nothing new that came from it.

      It didn’t change anything for me. I was hoping to see Trump control himself, but unfortunately, he’s an idiot, and can’t control himself. It grates on me.
