We know that but that wasn’t the debate. The debate was should we throw with 41 seconds left and that I don’t find fault on Gase
    ————
What? You can’t have it both ways, Ken! Gase thought it was a good idea to pass with Cutler with 41 seconds left.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Different issue. You go for that with 41 seconds left with any pro QB. FWIW I didn’t want I wanted Kaepernick. But when your starting QB there are very few good choices.

  39. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Rhino,
10-6 is about as likely as Jennifer Lopez, Sophia Vergara and Blake Lively getting in a fist fight over who gets to blow me first. Now, 5-11 is a whole different story.

  40. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

Is the journey worth the destination? This Fins journey is now on its 33rd year … I used to think my decades as a warriors fan ‘journey’ made the ‘destination’ so sweet. But in reality, most of that ‘journey’ had nothing to do with what made the ‘destination’. The Fins make incremental changes. Maybe Old Dolfan is right about ownership… culture changes start at the top.

No. That’ll be next week when Dolphins lose at home to Fitzpatrick led TB with Brent Grimes picking off Cutler twice.

Screw “Matty I”. He’s been wearing a dunce cap for years.

What’s more… he thinks it’s a joke? Grimes is kicking azz this year.

  49. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Seems Cam Newton did his best CASE KEENUM impression tonight.

  50. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    MF13,,
No highly paid FA is worth the kind of money they get. Suh plays every game. He gets doubled on almost every single play and sometimes tripled. He is the best or one of the best couple DT. It’s the other guys…Wake specifically…who don’t take advantage of the attention Suh gets. Wake gets singled a lot, but he still disappears way too much. He should be making more impact plays. The other DTs also aren’t doing enough against single blocking. Suh can’t do everything.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

You’re missing Wake getting doubled, too. I agree in principle, but Godchaux isn’t getting it done beside Suh.

DIDN’T I SAY that we should have signed either of Big Paul or McDaniel for a mere $1M???

  51. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Cam Newton is a pisser. When he wins he loves himself, when he loses he wants to crawl into a corner. He’s a phony fuck. I wish him nothing but the…

  52. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Steve Young keeps talking about McCaffrey being Superman by cutting back and scoring a TD when it was actually a terrible play by Kiko. He had another defender there to play McCaffrey’s outside shoulder, and Kiko completely over pursues the play and misses an easy tackle if he’d just played it right. Kiko has sucked lately.

  53. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Things never change. The quality of play is down across the league, and we are at the bottom of that. I really am just not enjoying the NFL anymore. I’m seriously thinking of taking up golfing as my Sunday activity.

  54. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Wake doesn’t get doubled nearly as much as Suh. A chip by a RB or TE isn’t a doubleteam block. Wake is often singled up on a RT, and he still doesn’t win very often. 6 sacks in 9 games, and 2 1/2 came against the Jets when, I think, a backup was playing RT. He should be doing more.

  55. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I’ve gone back and forth on this. Would you pay Landry big bucks, why?

  56. Randy's avatar Randy says:

No, Kiko over pursued the play when he should have played the player’s inside shoulder because another defender already had the outside. He should have played it to protect against the cut back…and I don’t care what Dbolt would say. I know what I’m looking at.

Ok, time for bed. This sucks. Gase has lost this team. Guys flat out gave up tonight. Unacceptable.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Your opinion is noted and RESPECTED, my friend. I’ll have to take another look at that play, man.

We AGREE that the players gave up on Gase tonight.

Have a good night, and I’m AUDI as well!

  57. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Peace, y’all!

  58. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

When does this team realize Drake is a difference-maker? He reminds me of Jamaal Charles or Ahman Green. Adam Gase, enough with the well we’re looking at him talk. Drake should be the #1 and Williams #2. That’s not a bad deal. Wake up! Landry catching 0-10 a million times isn’t the answer. It’s like Bess with Sparano. I know the OL isn’t that good, but the plays aren’t even designed to be better.

  59. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

If the players gave up on Gase tonight then get rid of them all!

That said…..I thought the offense was a bit better especially going against a top rated defense. If Cutler didn’t suck so bad it would of been a shoot out.

  60. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Should have gone to bed …. FUUUGly

  61. Wow. there’s pretty much NOTHING positive you can take away from that game last night. Nothing.

  62. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

The strength of the defense, the line, is non existent…..again. Time to change schemes. There’s too much $$ playing up there for these results.

  63. You don’t pay someone $115,000 to play DT to eat up two blockers. You pay a person that kind of money to make plays or be a playmaker. It’s a waste of money. Look at Carolina’s defense. Is there a Suh on the team? No. But, there’s a group of players making plays, including the LB we should have taken in 2012.

  64. I’d rather see the team start from scratch in some areas. Either cut Pouncey or try and trade him. Trade Tannehill and get what you can. Let go of James. Cut Suh and save the cap space and let Landry walk if you can’t get him signed for something REASONABLE.

If we go 6-10 or 7-9 after that at least we have a reason and as long as we’re getting in the right talent and building to compete I don’t care if we take a step or two backwards because we ain’t going anywhere anyways.

  65. ukfinfan's avatar ukfinfan says:

We lost that game all over the field last night, but our trench play on both sides was the biggest mismatch. Even if a GM spends a bunch of money on the O line though, it doesn’t guarantee success. Dallas (without their starting LT) was pushed around. Brutal season for us. Multiple shortcomings. Lots more change on the cards. When will all this end? Struggling to see how we avoid a losing season now, but let’s see what Gase is made of. Let’s also see which players if any quit.

  66. Dloxahatchee's avatar dcoralsprings says:

There are so many holes everywhere on this team, where do you start
I think we are way over loaded on too many large contracts for a team not ready to compete

Gase has a long way to go but I’m not ready to give up after 1-1/2 yrs

Can’t hardly get my head around the idea that once again every player at every position has to be looked at but when you find yourself at the bottom of the pack there’s only one way to start moving forward

  67. Ken's avatar Ken says:

The defense quit on the team when Cutler gets picked at the end of the half. Up until that the D was playing okay. Once that happened it was as if the D said this offense sucks and stopped playing.

  68. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

The real pro leg is it seems we get worse every game

I think there is potential to be the worst offense and defense in the NFL

OR how about Ross hiring a head coach?? Sparano,Philbin,Campbell, and, maybe, GASE—-ALL SWINGS AND MISSES!!!!
    ———————————
CLEARLY, the biggest problem is ROSS, himself. The culture of swings and misses HAS TO CHANGE!! The idiotic draft choices. The way too expensive free agents. The salary cap fiasco. The failed head coaches and GMs approved and paid for by this owner. The season ticket nightmares that have driven ALL OF MY BOYZ to stop buying tickets. And the over all lack of hope.

NEVER, not even in their very first year of existence, has the spirit of this franchise been lower. And STEVE ROSS, and his policies ARE TO BLAME!

THE NUMBER ONE NEED OF THIS DOLPHINS FRANCHISE IS A NEW OWNER!! –A NEW OWNER, and no one else, can break the cycle of stupid policies and stupid decisions. The climate of failure has to change!!!

    NO vs MIA 0-20 L
    BAL vs MIA 0-40 L
    CAR vs MIA 21-45 L

Not bad, we only lost 3 games by the total score of 105-21. WTFF!!!

LMAO OD – Do you have an alarm in your house that goes off when the Dolphins dip below .500 that reminds you to bitch about Ross? You’re too funny. 74. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

OD, i agree about Ross, he keeps hiring rookie coaches, coaches who have never been a hc in the nfl before, and they have to go against these masterminds like the hoodie, beating miami is childs play. Ross should keep his eye on any winning proven coach that becomes available and jump when the timing is right, meanwhile let the coach we have continue to build our draft status

  76. BailBondMike's avatar BailBondMike says:

Ken, I agree the D was playing good until that Cutler pick before the half. That single play gave the Panthers so much momentum coming out in the second half. After the pick and score that was it for the D. Kiko looked way off last night. The TD where he got juked was one of many missed plays he had.

What I saw last night was a team that came in with a really good game plan (Panthers) playing a team with seemingly no game plan (Dolphins). IMO, their main goal was to neutralize SUH via double team him and man up on everyone else and they executed perfectly (something we can not do). ESPN touched on everything that makes the Panthers O successful before the game, quick out’s to McCaffrey, WR screens, read option and the QB draw. Doesn’t seem like we game planned for any of it, like we were caught off guard and weren’t prepared for it like it was something new. What F-ing film are they watching??? Tapes from when Matt Moore was their QB???? SMH

  81. BailBondMike's avatar BailBondMike says:

Looked to me the Panthers used an offset line bringing in an extra tackle a lot last night always lining him up on Suh’s side so they could double him with a guard and tackle and still have a tackle on Wake. Anyone else notice or am I mistaken??

Anyway, that’s game planning Mr. Gase

  82. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

we had a game plan, PASS! that’s it, and the Defense did their home work, they did not allow cam to get outside on the read, the DE stayed home for the most part until it got ugly.
the lack of offense is what made the D look bad, Cam Newton is not a good passing qb, he is in accurate. keep him contained and make him beat you with the pass, a solid game plan. we should have beat them.
a very predictable easy read offense is why we lost

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

What bothers me Stanger is we’re not even in some games, and at this point, too many of them. If you really look at this season carefully, how many good quarters of football have we played? If we’ve played 36 quarters, maybe 6-10? That’s what bothers me. It’s like we’re either totally unprepared, or just not executing, or both, but it’s too often.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We’ve played a lot more bad football than good football. It really sucks that it gets to the point where there is nothing to root for because the game is over too soon too often. Gase is a rookie, he got a chance, granted we had issues this year but as of now he’s not getting the job done, this regression would be easier to swallow if he didn’t trade away the most valuable player on the team. that was a huge mistake and set this team back. he loses credibility for that.

as for his replacement i don’t have the answers, you just have to bide your time and jump when an experienced winning coach becomes available, it does happen.
the problem with that is does the force that makes these decisions realize that? is he ready to make that move? judging from his prior moves as of now i would think not, so strap in and get use to this sub par team.

the problem with this team is philosophy, from what i have witnessed Gase does not have a winning philosophy. he’s an easy read.
how long has it been since we have won a playoff game? i’m thinking 16 years, how many chances have we had to win a playoff game since then? was it 2?
i think i will be dead and gone before Miami wins another playoff game.

I think Gruden would have been the best choice

McCoy wasn’t too good in his first stint, Mora Jr. probably wants to stay in the college game. Schwartz wasn’t great in his first stint either. Gruden most likely will never coach again, he has it too easy on ESPN. I think Gase was probably one of the best candidates for the job, but he has to continue to prove that every year. Last year he did, this year, took a step back, but it’s not over yet.

It’s over Mike, the best that we could hope for is to lose and improve our draft position.

      • ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

you could get Gruden, make him an offer he can’t refuse

it was over when the moron sent our best player to philly.

No point in discussing specific positions because what position played well last night?
