Cooks is fast enough for that, Landry isn’t. He us crafty when he runs but ya got to get around the corner for that to help. We should be running it with stills but he drops like a bag of rocks as soon as he is hit so he’d have to be clean for a few extra steps before we got any good yardage out of it
Can’t beat the Pats scoring the first offensive TD in the 4th quarter. The game was there to get back in but of course we can’t do it. Same game another Sunday. Ugh!
Oh yeah and the injuries are piling up. We’re down to one RB. I’m afraid Williams is done for the year.
He is what he is, he is great in a pinch, but he isn’t a sustainable starter. We would do ourselves a great deal of good just sucking it up and letting him go this offseason. Roll with Tanny at least another year after extending him to get his cap hit down. Draft a guy to compete as a starter let him be the backup next year or two, if something happens to Tanny we start the process early.
I’d possibly draft a second QB late in the draft as depth or OS stash, or just make it a priority in UDFA. Would depend on what QB fell that I might want to make sure I got.
That would just be part if the offensive makeover I’d do. TE, OG, OC all would also be priority. WR kind of early if we don’t re-sign Landry.

Yeah, because no matter how close the score was we aren’t clicking at all, and they are
———-
I’ll do ya one better: it was over when we waited til the 5th Round to address our O-Line last Draft.
Put him on another team with an offense and he’s valuable. On this team he’s going to suck because our coaches don’t know how to use their weapons to their advantage.
I am actually not upset at our effort today. We are completely under manned and we were competitive. We hit Brady a lot today. We had some scoring opportunities that we failed to capitalize on. We beat up their OL. I didn’t expect us to win but not a horrible showing
on the flip side why do we not run that simple little twist with our DL if it works that well for NE with a couple nobodies like they had on that last sack.
Is it me or does Matt Moore add more yards to a sack almost every time? You can’t go backwards. Not meaning that last sack. But can you get rid of the ball here or there?
Yeah he doesn’t move in the pocket like you want him to. He moves better than Tanny, worse than Cutler, who usually steps up in the pocket like you are supposed to. Moore though doesn’t panic in the pocket like Cutler. Tanny is better about not panicking in the pocket than Cutler too, just not very good at avoiding pressure
I’m not saying he us beyond repriach I’m saying you have caled his name a bunch if times and only one was on him. He missed that inside move really really badly but only the one tine
Since I was the only poster here this off-season that was concerned with the o-line I’m just going to go ahead and say I told you so. We’ll never get anywhere until the o-line is fixed. We didn’t have these problems when Shula was here.
Because the defense is out there playing by themselves basically all day every week. Our offense doesn’t compete most of the time until it’s too late. Lots of changes coming in the offseason.
Tunsil is the only guy I’d be keeping on the line as a starter. Larsen I would keep as a backup and some of the other backups but Pouncey’s getting cut or traded, Bushrod’s not coming back and I’d cut James in a heartbeat. Like I said, don’t care if we go O for next year as long as we’re building it the right way rather than keeping guys around who add nothing. Oh yeah, trade Parker as well.
ANOTHER splendid game for our garbage offensive line. 8 sacks allowed, plus guilty of several penalties. Gase to Cutler: “Hey Jay, have your headaches gone away?” Cutler to Gase:”I’m afraid my super bad headaches have returned. Don’t see them going away until Jan. 1, at the earliest.”
Tim, ya would have to go back to Tanny last year to look at what I’m talking about. Ya have to watch their feet.
Moore shuffles his feet but he gets them replanted most the time to make HS throws, Tanny gets happy feet’s, quick choppy movements that keep him from fully setting his feet for his throws, Cutler is even worse because when he panics he doesn’t even get as close as Tanny does to setting his feet and winds up throwing off back foot or falling back on his throws and gets nothing on it.
Cutler though when he is on steps up in the pocket like any elite QB does and sets his feet and makes a good throw, it’s just he only does it like every other game or 50% of the time in a game so it’s hard to credit him fully for that ability.
I’ve always disagreed with most of you about this. I think RT does things with his feet that most QBs can’t do. When he gets pressured he can buy time in ways most QBs can’t. When he takes a jail break sack like we see Cutler and Moore do it’s he has no pocket presence. I don’t see it that way. Cutler and Moore look like statues too often. They allow sacks to come to them and they lose even more yardage than they should. I think we undervalue RT in this way. We’re missing his mobility to keep plays alive.
The problem with us having any kind of season that would get us close to the playoffs this year is the possibility of someone within the organization looking at the problems with the offensive line and thinking it’s not as bad as it really is.
Last thing we need is Tannenbaum looking at the o line and saying “hey, we’re not that bad there” and drafting everything but. JMHO
M – How about some context – He’s not even the main ballcarrier in that monster offense, in fact, he’s pretty much a bit player. 5 carries for 25 yards is hardly even worth bringing up. Blount and Wentz both had more rushing yards. Fuck Ajayi, he’s gone, and he didn’t do his job here, so Buh-bye!
Thanks man, I just want us to remember the people here and our relationships are bigger than football. I love the game as much as anyone but it’s bad to see it turning us on one another
Yes, I agree. Frustration will definitely boil over as our season goes down the toilet yet again, which besides last season, was an annual occurrence. We all put a lot of time into this team, so it sucks and angers people when the team sucks, and the future looks bleak.
I’m hearing calls to get rid of MR. Wake… he’s past his prime. He just had one of the very best games of the year for any DE against Tom Lady*, Belicheat*, and the zebras. He sucks. We get it.
Our rookie CBs (Howard and Tankersley) suck BADLY until they make a play… then they are the best CBs drafted over the last 20 years… even though they are being played out of their scheme-fits by a first-year DC who has made our Defense collectively REGRESS.
But Matt Burke is a god and our CBs suck. We get it.
Can live with that game just fine….not like expected to win and at one point they had me thinking about what if at one point in the 2nd half. And the guys never gave up.
Bushrod us probably going to retire. I’d guess after this season he us likely to see this team as a good way off a Superbowl so he us going to do what he started to do last year.
Pouncey may retire, I think the news he was going to have to have hip replacement surgery in less than 5 years might make him rethink his career. I hope he holds on to one year because to do like some of you are suggesting and replacing everyone is going to be awful.
Larsen we have fir another year. He us basically just barely out is PS right now, so I’m hoping he straitens things out and gives us a possible starter but solid backup option for next year.
Tunsil is our LT, he just needs some more work there.
I’m not sure about James, if it looks like he is out for next year then I try to extend him, if we think he will bounce back, but I don’t pay him big money, which might make him choose to hit FA. If he will be back to start the season I’d still try to extend him, I just might be willing to pay him more money. I’d try to avoid going into next season with him on 5th year at all costs.
Because of this I’m drafting either an OG very early like first or second, or I’m drafting an OT/OG in the first hinging hard on the James situation. I’d draft an OC/OG in the second if I didn’t already get an OT/OG in the first and if I was able to get a trade back I’d probably do both. I’d pick up a third OL using one of our 4ths bringing my total number of OL selections to 2 or 3 if we got a trade back that got us a extra second or third.
I’m going to get a QB and a TE by the third to go with the OL, so I really feel trade back is imperative to get us the players we need. WR, if a really good one drops to us may get shift one of those picks down to the 4th more than likely TE otherwise We would be my second 4th, and that really depends on if we can find the money to re-sign Landry.
Round out the draft getting filler positions, depth RB, depth DB, depth DE, or depth QB if we found one we didn’t want to lose out on picking up a guy in UDFA.
M13 my post wasn’t that Kiko sucks. He makes some good plays and yeah he us a pretty good tackler he just isn’t great at play recognition and because of that he finds himself out of position on some plays. He has some refinement needed but we could and have been much worse at the position. Like you said with Tunsil though, he isn’t beyond reproach, so I’m going to call him out for his failures just like I will Tunsil for his
Tankersly is still learning. His biggest mistakes I have seen so far has just been rookie kind of mistakes. He has a ton of upside. Next year I bet he looks like a lockdown. He us learning on the job which usually pays out in the future at the cost of the now
Howard I think has been a little disappointing but he also us still learning so no need to sell him out. I think he and Lippett will be fighting for the other outside CB spot, and whomever it is will be a strong 2nd. I’d probably even put the loser in the slot, because we really could use a press kind of CB even in the slot. Trying to run with those little fuckers the Pays have is plain stupid you gotta knock them around before the get moving.
Wake is fine, though I’d like for us to restructure his contract again. No loss of money, give him more guaranteed money but move the cap hit back some
In so many games we had to get away from the run game even when Ajayi was here. Our offense just isn’t working this year, whether it’s Moore or Cutler, we make too many damn mistakes. WE get yards all over the field and then make a crucial mistake, either a penalty, interception or fumble. My point is, you post Ajayi is averaging 5 YPC, but c’mon man, the guy had 5 freaking carries. He’s not a major player in Philly, and like I posted earlier, I saw him do the same thing he did here, give up the middle, try and take it to the outside, but he doesn’t have the speed to do it, and got caught for a 5 yard loss. Not only is he a bit player for them, they have 3 capable backs in Blount and Clement, their offense is firing on all cylinders at all times with Wentz at QB.
I guess what I’m saying is, why bother lamenting Ajayi, he wasn’t the answer here, and we’re really not a playoff caliber team with or without him. The more games we lose from here on will probably be better for us next year. That’s of course if we can draft well.
If Parker is closing in on bust territory, and Landry may not be affordable next season, wouldn’t you think it’s about time we see what Carroo can do for you?
Parker seems to just go through the motions. He doesn’t have an edge to his game. He relies on his talent and that’s not enough. I could see us move on from him, Carroo and Grant.
You guys still blaming the defense when our offense scored 10 friggin points? You can’t beat good scoring teams like the Pats playing like this and expect shutouts from the defense. Like Gase has said many times, it’s not fair.
I didn’t like seeing Ajayi being traded but, yeah, there’s problems with this team that are much deeper than Ajayi no longer being here.
Just one example would be the fact that we still had to sign to long in the tooth veteran linebackers to help us out rather than having LB’s on the roster who we drafted to be starters. Alonso may be a decent LB IF we had two really good LB’s surrounding him but he’s not that playmaker we need at LB. Same goes for DE. We traded for Hayes who’s another older veteran and even though he played well early on he’s, again, only a band aid and not the long-term solution.
I understand we were counting on McMillan being the guy in the middle for us but we’re still missing guys all over the place. We signed Allen at safety, Bushrod as our starting RG, Larsen to be our starting LG. We still have so many holes to fill and it shows a weakness we have when we can’t pick the talent for our own team and have it stick and have to continue to go out in the FA market and sign the band aid guys.
People need to stop insulting others because they don’t view things the way you do and then you get thrown into some fucked up bucket of this and that. I’m personally sick of it. The snidey remarks are old and boring. We all have the same passion for our team. Because we don’t all agree to tear the house down doesn’t make you a loser.
To me the thing that has to stop is when a poster says that those who don’t agree with him are
a) not true fans
b) settling for mediocrity
c) not knowledgeable about football (or Dolphins history)
d) shills for the FO
e) in denial
f) any other insulting insinuation. All of those are BS.
I am fine with anyone posting anything they want. I just don’t think it is their place to correct other people’s opinions with opinions of their own.
If I say Drake is 350 or plays TE or never fumbles (dammit), then you can correct me flat out. Because those are incorrect facts.
But if I say player x or coach y or scheme z is a reason for our poor play, that’s my opinion, and other posters should accept that without sarcastically pointing out that I’m wrong.
They can post what they think is the reason (there are certainly many on this team this year.) But so many times I post something and somebody else replies behind me with this condescending tone stating that they know the RIGHT opinion.
Now, there IS some gray area about what is an opinion and what is a fact sometimes, but i still don’t like being told my OPINION is flat out wrong and neither does anyone else.
Case in point
****Let the Ajayi thing go. That’s not why we’re losing. Seriously?****
If you disagree that us trading Ajayi has a big effect on our season, then say so and offer your evidence. That would be fine. It’s debatable.
But to tell MF13 to stop posting about us trading away our 200-yd per game starting RB in the middle of a season for a middling draft pick is unnecessarily unreasonable. Some of us have hurt feelings about that trade as that was our favorite guy on the team. Maybe you even want us to stop bringing it up because it hurts you to think about it, too. And who are you to tell us what to post?
Also, “Seriously?” is a known mocking and sarcastic expression, as if to say that us posting about a Pro-Bowl RB we lost shows us to be stupid. Like we are not “seriously” expert, because we don’t agree with your opinion.
Some years a team just seems to have no chemistry and it effects the W-L record directly.
I think that is one of the two big differences between the 2016 and 2017 Dolphins.
As bad as our run d was, we had some sort of magic going last year.
(also this year’s schedule and the ridiculous number of distractions, interruptions, injuries, and assorted turmoil hasn’t helped.)
The other Big Issue is losing the starting QB just a few weeks prior to the season.
we really need to get better at drafting and it shows. like I said in an above post, when you’ve got to fill in as many holes as we do year after year with free agents it doesn’t say much about the team’s ability to evaluate talent.
I know we’re only two years into Gase’s regime and Grier’s stint as GM. I’m just saying that we need to get better in that area. It’s hard to say how we’ve done in the last two drafts, especially because of this season being what it is, so we’ll need to wait until next season. But, even if they turn out to be pretty good we still need to continue to get better at drafting.
Finding talent in the later rounds is one thing. We’ve had a difficult time getting guys we’ve drafted early on to really help us out. I think our front office tried to get good fast rather than build us to compete for the long run and we’re seeing the results.
McFadden wouldn’t be a bad pick-up especially if Williams is out for rest of the season. If he healthy. That’s always been the deal with him is he doesn’t hold up for a whole season
Stidham ithink depends on if the get the NC this year. If they do, he has done enough in the last half if the season to be a first to second round player and I think that would be enough to pull him out of college. I didn’t like him at all early on but the guy has really cone on towards the end of the season and he is doing college level elite things at QB. With their running game they have enough balance to their offense that he should be a better NFL product than a lot of these guys coming out this year.
He played a hell of a game yesterday. It was a big game with big time pressure in the spotlight and he delivered. I would like to see him do that for a whole season but yesterday’s performance is the kind that gets a player drafted
Naples, tennis shoes are not really what they are called anymore, it’s an older term to describe anything that’s a sports shoe, they call them all kinda different things now, I’m just saying he shows how old those shoes are if they are “tennis” shoes. Was a joke, guess it missed the mark lol

M13 my post wasn’t that Kiko sucks…
———-
D, I’m not addressing YOU or anybody in particular here (though… nevermind). It’s all over Twitter. It’s all over other message boards. It’s all over the media. It’s all over just pathetic.
And I’m not talking about just Kiko here. I’m talking about Kiko, Wake, Howard, Tankersley, Cutler, Moore, Ajayi, Pouncey (though half the criticisms of him are fair; he’s declining fast), Bushrod (probably our best O-Lineman this year AND according to the coaches), DeVante, J. Thomas (he’s declining fast as well, but he’s not chopped liver), and Haack. ALL THESE GUYS SUCK, according to armchair GMs… FIRE ‘EM ALL, SMH.
It would seem the players who can do no wrong (according to armchair GMs) are Harris, Tunsil, Drake, Howard and Tankersley (funny how they can both SUCK and also be ‘golden boys’), Suh, Anthony, Allen, McDonald (EVERYBODY’s favorite), and McCain.
And somehow, Reshad and Stills seem to be stuck in purgatory with most fans (SMH).
The guys that supposedly SUCK are the only guys that have allowed us to win 4 games this year (Cutler single-handedly 3 times), and the ‘do-gooders’ are the primary reason we’ve sustained 7 losses this year.
This is more or less the same team we had last year with minor additions and minor subtractions. Know what the problem is? Oooooh, oooooh (*raising my hand*), I DO!
1) First-year DC Matt Burke, who can’t call a proper game plan and doesn’t utilize his players to their strengths and natty schemes. He’s trying to fit star-shaped pegs into a brick wall.
2) Second-year HC Adam Gase, who has lost the locker room after trading Ajayi. We’ve not played inspired football on either side of the ball since, nor have we won a single game since.
3) We can no longer control the clock (TOP) nor command 8 in-the-box with Ajayi gone. That opened up the passing game, which we seemingly lack now even though we have 3 STUD WRs and a QB in Cutler who is putting up nearly identical numbers that Tannehill had last season. And if one thinks Cutler truly SUCKS, just blame Gase… his BFF. See above.
4) A defunct FO featuring Mike Tannenbaum and Chris Grier, who FAILED to recognize the importance of Offensive trench-play. “One key injury to our O-Line and we’re doomed”, said a certain poster here right after the Draft… he was SOOOO right (*raises hand*). And anybody who though Ted Larsen was some kind of savior… REALLY? Have you seen his stats/play over the last 8 years? He’s on his 4th team in as many years for a REASON. Yeah, he’s the kind of FA splash that fixes O-Lines, LOL.
5) Though totally out of our control, the ZEBRAS have FUNKED us this year… HARD. PARTICULARLY the last 2 games.
6) Adam Gase (again) continues to call ‘dink-and-dunk’ with the $10M CANNON arm of Jay Cutler. Even if it’s 3rd and 25, you can be sure that Gase will call a bubble-screen to Jarvis Landry or a short dump-off to the RB over the middle for a minimal gain. THIS is what has led me to believe that Cutler is hiding an undisclosed injury… especially after seeing him BOMB the ball in the preseason on a semi-regular basis. THROW THE DAMN BALL DOWNFIELD, Adam Gase… you doorknob.
I’m getting tired of hearing that Gase can do NO wrong: “He’s the HEAD COACH! You can’t speak ill of the coach… or ANY of his coordinators, either!”. Well I’ve got news for ya… yes we CAN, and he IS the biggest problem this year. He’ll be back next year and rightfully so (he’s shown brilliance at times), but he’s got a LOT of growing up to do — both on and off the field — in the meantime. He should fire himself as the defacto OC (we all know Clyde isn’t the REAL OC) and also go shopping for a new DC while he’s at it… demote Burke back to LB coach (he’s fine at that capacity).
And I’d like to qualify all of the above as just my opinion. I’m pretty sure that if one does the math, watches the games/tape, translates the stats, compares last year to this year, tracks the cap, and has an open mind, one will arrive at least CLOSE to the same conclusions that I have.
We have a good nucleus to build around from last year… it’s not time to blow the whole thing up. But we’d better kill the ’18 Draft and get the proper people running the show (FO and coordinators) if we’re going to build on last year’s successes. You can’t win championships via FA and you can’t spend us into oblivion like the stej of yesteryear. Mike Tannenbaum (former stej GM), I’d put you on notice if I were Steve Ross… if not outright fire you NOW.
You keep saying Cutlers numbers are nearly identical. That is simply wrong. There is a huge difference in yards per attempt. That is a stat that many feel is the most important stat when analyzing QB play. Last year Tannehill YPA was excellent. This year Cutlers YPA is putrid. It is not even close and the difference is very significant
These are 2018 free agents I am noting, there are plenty more (went by sport track):
QB Kirk Cousins
QB Case Keenum
QB Jimmy Garoppolo
QB Chase Daniel (better backup than MM)
QB Teddy Bridgewater
QB Chad Henne (would he be a better backup than MM?)
RB Isaiah Crowell (CLE)
RB Jeremy Hill (CIN)
RB Orleans Darkwa (NYG)
RB Carlos Hyde (SF)
TE ASJ (NYJ)
TE Tyler Eifert (CIN)
TE Ed Dickson (CAR)
TE Luke Wilson (SEA)
TE Troy Niklas (ARI)
Just throwing this out there if they are able to clear some cap space. I will throw out some OL next.
G Luke Joeckel
LT Greg Robinson (DET)
C Evan Smith (TB)
LT Chris Clark (HOU)
G D J Fluker (NYG)
C Wesley Johnson (NYJ)
G Andrew Norwell (CAR)
G Matt Slauson (LAC)
RT Byron Bell (DAL)
G Jonathan Cooper (DAL)
G Oday Aboushi (SEA)
G Alex Boone (ARI)
G Joe Looney (DAL)
C Brian Schwenke (TEN)
RT Earl Watford (ARI)
C Travis Swanson (DET)
RT Seantrel Henderson (BUF)
Throw out some D next.
Speaking of zebras….have you ever seen a possession call so quickly in a pile, like the one on the punt fumble? That was almost instantaneous. Phins still lose even with that turnover, but that was hilariously blatant.

———-
You are cherry picking ONE stat to fit your narrative. Cutler’s on par to throw MORE TDs than Tannehill did last year. And up until last game, he was on par to throw fewer INTs than Tannehill.
I’m not dismissing your point of YPA… it’s well noted by me above: refer to my 6th point. Gase has only himself to blame for the lack of YPA.
The CRAZIEST thing is that Tannehill can move it between the 20s, but can’t move it in the redzone. Conversely, Cutler (via Gase calling for dinks and dunks every bloody play) isn’t moving it between the 20s, but is KILLING it in the redzone.
I wish we could have the best of both worlds, and I feel we COULD with Cutler… if Gase would have taken the handcuffs off of him. It’s too late in the season at this point, anyway.
Needless to say, Ken… Cutler won’t be back with us next year. This is Tannehill’s team and we’re very likely (IMO) to draft a QB in ’18 at some point.
Case Keenum has just priced himself as a starting QB. We had 3 chances to get him on the cheap (one time at only $1M/per) as a backup. We won’t be signing him next year… and the Vikes just might roll with him going forward with a new lucrative contract.
Unless Tannehill suffers a major setback between now and the start of FA, Keenum won’t be playing for us.
My biggest concern is we take it for granted Tannehill returns and we go into the season without a starter again because he can’t go for some reason. Or, let’s say he can’t get it done and we’ve got nobody who can step in and get it done.
We need to draft a quarterback who is bona fide competition for him as the starter. It would be just like this team to go into next year and neglect the quarterback position and end up without a starter again. If we end up with a high enough pick in the top ten we need to get the quarterback of the future.
I actually agree that if we end up with a very high pick we have to consider a QB. You don’t get too many chances at atop 5 QB and as much as I like Tannehill I don’t think you can pass that up if you get a shot at one of the top 2-3 QBs in this draft
JMO, but it seems to me that free agents are what got us to where we are at this point. We’ve struggled to draft guys, especially in the early rounds, who could help us become better and this past offseason was typical of what we do in signing free agents to fill in holes and be competitive fast rather than doing the dirty work and building a team that can compete for the long haul.
We need to build a nucleus of players who are ours and then we can sprinkle in a free agent here and there but the number of free agents we sign, especially those who are just of the band aid type, who aren’t long-term solutions are what’s killing us year after year.
This team needs to get better at drafting. That’s it in a nutshell. Until that happens I don’t think we’re going to be competitive on a consistent basis. Hopefully, the most two recent drafts we had help us out but it’s really hard to tell at this point because of the season we’re having.
If I’m Greir or whomever is running the show for this team during the offseason, the ONLY person I’m going after in free agency is a guy who can play on the offensive line and still has a few years left. Other than that, I’m not signing anyone.
You mean the same play-caller (Gase) with the same QB (Cutler) who got 7.6 YPA in ’15 with the Bears? Yeah, that’s what I thought. And Tannehill with Gase averaged 7.7 YPA last year.
Does somebody… ANYBODY understand why I’ve been thinking that Cutler may be concealing an injury of sorts? Something is out of place from the preseason to the regular season with Cutler… and Gase is only calling dinks and dunks for Cutler.
No. 70: New York Jets → Minnesota (D). The Jets traded their third-round selection (70th) to Minnesota in exchange for Minnesota ‘s third- and fifth-round selections (79th and 160th).
———–
I presume we could have had the No. 70 pick if we traded our 2017 third- and fourth-round selections (86th and 128th). Our package would have been 25 overall selections earlier (214 to 239) than the Vikings package.
Here’s the problem: we traded our 2017 third- and fourth-round selections (86th and 128th… along with swapping 6th Rounders) in the 2016 Draft to land Leonte Carroo (Mr. 23 games, 10 receptions, 98 yards). Damien Williams has equaled that production for us over the last 3 games alone.
And who was the No. 70 pick in the 2017 Draft? PAT ELFLEIN
Now before anyone cites, “But the stej would never have done that deal with us!”, don’t think a team before No. 70 (such as the 49ers) wouldn’t have made that deal with us.
We’ve got to stop getting cute on Draft day, Tannenbaum and Grier. The Carroo selection is going to go down as another DT3-like trade-up failure.
I would really rather see this team be smart about free agency for once and just get one guy who can really help rather than sign a bunch of guys who aren’t going to help just to fill in holes. Draft guys and play them. Develop the talent.
You want free agents on the offensive line. great. sign a couple backups but that’s it. One good, solid addition to the offensive line will go further than signing a bunch of guys on the offensive line who are too old to get it done. We’re not getting it done in one offseason anyway so why not be smart about it?
Maybe we get lucky and land two offensive linemen in the draft who are the future at two of the positions we need help at and that solves that issue. Maybe it’s only one. I’m okay with that as long as it’s the right guy and we’re not just taking someone just to fill in a hole when we could have had a better player at another position. So what if you think you’ve got enough players at the other positions. You use those players to trade for other players who can help us or draft picks.
Naples – FWIW – I did give an explanation each time I defend the Ajayi trade. I’m not blind, I know he did some good things here, but I think we all saw we weren’t a very good team with or without him. I also understand the TOP point, and has some merit too. I also think it’s fair to say that Ajayi is not the kind of back Gase wants. I bet Gase would kill for the Saints Alvin Kamara. I think Drake is a lot closer to Kamara than Ajayi is. Drake isn’t as talented as Kamara, but he’s more in that mold, a good receiver out of the backfield who can give you 15-25 touches a game both rushing and receiving combined. We can find a guy that can give us the tough carries for short yardage and maybe wear a team down if we have a lead in next year’s draft. Maybe we find a guy better than Drake, who knows. I don’t think Ajayi is an elite RB, and honestly, right now, he may be the 3rd best on his team, but he does have value for Philly, especially if one of the other backs get hurt.
We’ll see what we get next year with that 4th RD pick, and we’ll see how Ajayi’s career path progresses. I don’t think it was an awful trade, but it definitely was a surprise. The things that bothered me last year about him was he’d a have 200 yard game, or he’d disappear. There weren’t a bunch of 100 yard games, he either went wild or was a non-factor. I’d like to have some more consistency in that regard. I also believe Gase doesn’t want to have to feed a RB 25-30 carries, my guess is he doesn’t feel that’s a sustainable formula, and Ajayi’s production in other games might have proved that. This is ALL just my opinion, so take it as you like.
Saints and Rams was the late game our way…….Kamara made we want him on him my team, even if the only one can get him on next year is the fantasy one. Mad skills.
I think it’s possible Cutler may have a dislocated broadcast booth. LOL
I think he doesn’t want to get killed this year, he knows this team isn’t going anywhere, and wants to make sure he leaves this year in one piece. Again, this is just my opinion, and I don’t have anything to support it at the moment.
You may be entirely correct at this point in the season… that Cutler just wants to leave the NFL in one piece… without having to deal with potential CTE, a broken leg, or otherwise. And at this point in the season with our record and our sieve of an O-Line, I can’t say I blame him.
I can’t believe I stopped ironing my Christmas curtains to watch this mess.
Lol
Amendola should have got flagged too. McCain definitely deserved to get ejected. It should have been offset penalties though
Was that a Stephone Anthony sighting?
He might have to play rb
I don’t think do
It sure was. He did a reverse ole’ and failed to make a play on the ball… just like his New Orleans days.
the twitter community told me otherwise. I didn’t see it.
These refs SUCK.
Patriots are being dicks now
Now as opposed to when?
Good point lol. Well how about more dickish than normal on those last two
The faucet fake punt after the delay seems to be rubbing it in our face alluding to the first one which was about 0 respect for our offense
Faux
Tunsil… SMMFH
Oh I was checking the punt return team for Anthony was he in on a regular play?
Yes, and he failed to make a play on the ball that was thrown right at him.
Why Tunsil?
Tunsil didn’t allow that sack
Who did?
Nevermind I was still replaying the first, yes the second on completely on him
This game is toast. All I want to see now is Brady REALLY get nailed and Mcdonald blow up Amendola coming across the middle.
First was sorta on Pouncey sorta on Moore
Lol annoucers are already calling the game out of reach, saying bring in hoyer lol
That was my opinion at 14-0 but we surprised ourselves with a defensive TD
We need all new corners. We need to revamp the entire CB roster. I don’t think there is anyone on our roster that is starting caliber
Why? Burke has them playing out of scheme. Our CBs are built to play man-to-man, not zone.
I’d say it’s time to find a new DC instead.
They are not good in any scheme and we have been playing our share of man today it doesn’t matter they still get beat
May need one of those as well
yeah, there’s nothing wrong with our corners good coaching and scheme wouldn’t solve. they’re better than they’re being allowed to show.
We’re still in this game.
Two great play designs in a row for the TD.
I love frostys
Well then, today is your lucky day!! lol.
CAM WAKE TIME
BOOM!!!!!!!!!!
Grant blows
MOORE TO STILLS TIME
So much for the comeback
Pouncey should have broke off helping Davis and picked that up. Davis on that last one
unbelievable how we ruin every good play we make
3rd and 28 … wtf is that?
btw … I think I’m done with Grant as a returner.
I do like us going for it on 4th.
That’s a catch by Landry, dammit!!!
They would’ve given that catch to Amendola.
^^^
It wasn’t a catch
true
How does Lewis get through there? Looks like Alonso missed his gap.
and there’s how you run a jet sweep the right way.
Why can’t we do that with our little fast guy?
Cooks is fast enough for that, Landry isn’t. He us crafty when he runs but ya got to get around the corner for that to help. We should be running it with stills but he drops like a bag of rocks as soon as he is hit so he’d have to be clean for a few extra steps before we got any good yardage out of it
There’s the game.
It was over a lot earlier
Was it? It was a 2 score game just a moment ago with plenty of clock left in the 4th quarter.
Yeah, because no matter how close the score was we aren’t clicking at all, and they are
Oh well, it’s not like I expected the game to be close.
Sitting here at my desk, I not only realized that our team sucks but so do my tennis shoes. Damn!
LMAO!!!!
The fact you call them tennis shoes says a lot about why they suck lol
I don’t understand why you say that.
Shoulder injuries are hard for a RB to come back from and they def can’t play through it like a few other positions can
His also looked really painful.
I think I’m done with Matt Moore as well.
MM got to throw that away
D says:

Yeah, because no matter how close the score was we aren’t clicking at all, and they are
———-
I’ll do ya one better: it was over when we waited til the 5th Round to address our O-Line last Draft.
I think this might be the last year Grant is on the team. He just doesn’t bring anything to the table.
Put him on another team with an offense and he’s valuable. On this team he’s going to suck because our coaches don’t know how to use their weapons to their advantage.
I don’t think he’s that good.
D I meant use Grant on a jet sweep.
Well. Those Christmas curtains aren’t going to iron themselves.
I am actually not upset at our effort today. We are completely under manned and we were competitive. We hit Brady a lot today. We had some scoring opportunities that we failed to capitalize on. We beat up their OL. I didn’t expect us to win but not a horrible showing
You’re right we just can’t get anything going on offense basically every week.
Tunsil, Tunsil, Tunsil… S.M.M.F.H.
Larsen on that sack
Larsen was engaged with his man. Tunsil just sat back and did nothing.
I’m done with Larsen. That was a simple little twist.and he whiffed by several feet.
on the flip side why do we not run that simple little twist with our DL if it works that well for NE with a couple nobodies like they had on that last sack.
Is it me or does Matt Moore add more yards to a sack almost every time? You can’t go backwards. Not meaning that last sack. But can you get rid of the ball here or there?
That and that sling it with your eyes closed INT is why I am done with Moore.
That’s why he’s a backup. That might change in 2018 too.
Tannehill is better than Moore at basically everything. I’ll have to disagree there. RT can buy time and does quite often. Moore not so much.
Only guy that hasn’t been at least somewhat responsible for a sack has been Young and I was sure he be responsible for a few lol
They’re getting us with blitzes from LBs and DBs and we don’t pick them up.
Damn M13 you want to blame everything on Tunsil
He’s not beyond reproach and he’s not done his job as our LT this year.
Most of the sacks and pressures are inside.
I’m not saying he us beyond repriach I’m saying you have caled his name a bunch if times and only one was on him. He missed that inside move really really badly but only the one tine
Hey Matt Moore… try under-throwing DeVante again.
M13 Larsen was not engaged, like Naples said they ran a twist, Tunsil picked up his man and Larsen whiffed on his
So we got out coached again.
They find our weakest guy and force him to make a play. Since half the time he can’t, they get lots of big plays.
I see a lot of weakest guys.
Since I was the only poster here this off-season that was concerned with the o-line I’m just going to go ahead and say I told you so. We’ll never get anywhere until the o-line is fixed. We didn’t have these problems when Shula was here.
Lol
LOL
M13, so what were you saying about the draft? LOL
Another great effort by our offense, just 10 points. …Defense wasn’t much better giving up 5 TDs. 🙄
There’s always next week.
Cutler is probably fine, he probably has enough dead braincells already from smoking weed that the concussion just bruised the dead ones
MY WIFE asked me “Why does Cutler always look stoned?”–LOL
JMHO
Time of Possession today…
Patsies*: 32:41
Phins: 27:19
And Jay Ajayi was over 5.0 YPC again today for the Eagles. And we’re still winless without Ajayi.
TOP is context enough. We ran CLOCK when Ajayi was here, win or lose.
Now that Ajayi’s gone, our Defense is on the field ALL DAY and they’ve SUCKED ever since the trade. Is that context enough?
And Jay Cutler still leads the NFL in both game winning drives and 4th quarter comebacks this year with 3 each.
He also leads the league in sucking
D
Your post earlier, somewhere around 2:30PM was an excellent post. Just wanted you know that.
ATM, Kiko Alonso is a top-10 tackler in the NFL, but he sucks. We get it.
We get it.
Alright, I’m done venting after another loss. And please stop dissin’ one another… NOT cool.
No loss of money, give him more guaranteed money but move the cap hit back some
Should we pick up Darren McFadden who just got cut by the stupid Cowboys? We need another RB.
M
Moore looked like he was running in molasses all day. Parker who?
It can be 2nd or 3rd and 50 and I’d bet money Cheatriots pick up the 1st.
Agree with you on Parker. He is starting to approach bust territory
He’s already rounded the corner…..coming down home stretch.
I believe Moore has given us everything he has. His ceiling is too low. If we can draft a hungry QB, then maybe we should.
oops But i just hate to use a draft pick on someone who will hardly play when we have such huge OL needs.
If he comes out, I like Jarrett Stidham from Auburn.
I think he stays in and will be a relatively high pick next year
Here’s a question for you all . . .
If Parker is closing in on bust territory, and Landry may not be affordable next season, wouldn’t you think it’s about time we see what Carroo can do for you?
Hey….he was dressed this week! Lol
I think they know what Carroo can do. I expect Landry will be back next year and Carroo not likely to be on the roster
Let the Ajayi thing go. That’s not why we’re losing. Seriously?
AMEN, I mean shut up Tim! 😉
Now, there IS some gray area about what is an opinion and what is a fact sometimes, but i still don’t like being told my OPINION is flat out wrong and neither does anyone else.
well said
Case in point
JMHMFO!!
McFadden wouldn’t be a bad pick-up especially if Williams is out for rest of the season. If he healthy. That’s always been the deal with him is he doesn’t hold up for a whole season
I love the Keys … so much to see and do.
D says:

You think we can get Keenum. 😉Lol.
Actually, 3 of those TEs I liked coming out, Eifert, Dickson, and Niklas. …Especially Eifert. Unfortunately, he’s been injured often with Cincinnati.
Lol

Speaking of zebras….have you ever seen a possession call so quickly in a pile, like the one on the punt fumble? That was almost instantaneous. Phins still lose even with that turnover, but that was hilariously blatant.
Yeah, man! That was ridiculous! I can’t stand the zebras this year, more so than most years. BLATANT is right!

I am not cherry picking as much as you are glossing over or ignoring the most important stat
rgs, naw just throwing those names out there. Was just browsing the car lot so don’t be like my wife and say “We can’t afford that new truck” LOL
Lol, I know. I said it for M.🙂
😀
BB Mike,
YES(!) to Brock Coyle. IN. A. HEARTBEAT.
If I’m Greir or whomever is running the show for this team during the offseason, the ONLY person I’m going after in free agency is a guy who can play on the offensive line and still has a few years left. Other than that, I’m not signing anyone.
MF13:
The difference in the YPA is not play calling it’s QB play. Same play caller. Different QB with very different results.
You mean the same play-caller (Gase) with the same QB (Cutler) who got 7.6 YPA in ’15 with the Bears? Yeah, that’s what I thought. And Tannehill with Gase averaged 7.7 YPA last year.
Something is wrong, here.
Does somebody… ANYBODY understand why I’ve been thinking that Cutler may be concealing an injury of sorts? Something is out of place from the preseason to the regular season with Cutler… and Gase is only calling dinks and dunks for Cutler.
2017 Draft
Mad skills.
M
I think it’s possible Cutler may have a dislocated broadcast booth. LOL
I think he doesn’t want to get killed this year, he knows this team isn’t going anywhere, and wants to make sure he leaves this year in one piece. Again, this is just my opinion, and I don’t have anything to support it at the moment.
LOL @ “dislocated broadcast booth” 😆
You may be entirely correct at this point in the season… that Cutler just wants to leave the NFL in one piece… without having to deal with potential CTE, a broken leg, or otherwise. And at this point in the season with our record and our sieve of an O-Line, I can’t say I blame him.
Mike
Regarding Parker, he hasn’t produced much but I don’t think he is in bust territory
It’s a little hard to judge individual performances when the whole offense is garbage
I don’t think Parker is keeping Caroo off the field though
I went back and was looking at the WRs in that draft and guys like Dorsett, White, Strong and Perriman have all been busts
Cooper and Anghalor boh have similar numbers to Parker
Our whole offense is a mess
Our whole team is actually
Lot of high picks in the 8:19 free agent OL list
Guys hat didn’t workout so well for the teams that drafted them
Time for an avatar change
