The 2018 Miami Dolphins have put all their eggs in the Ryan Tannehill basket. For better or for worse, the success or failure of this team will rest on the shoulders, right arm and knees of Ryan Tannehill. This is his year to succeed, his year to finally have the successful season the Dolphins have always hoped he could reach. In 2016, Tannehill was playing close to that level in the final 8 games he played until the unfortunate knee injury which ended up sidelining him for the rest of the ’16 season and the entire 2017 season. This even includes the annual thrashing by the Baltimore Ravens game in which we lost 38-6. Tannehill over the last 8 games had his best NFL stretch, playing to a top 10 QB level. He threw for 1721 yards, with a 69% completion rate with 13 TD’s and 5 INT’s, for an excellent 100.09 NFL QBR. This is what I’d like to see Ryan Tannehill have as his baseline, and maybe play even better, throw more TD’s, and help this team win more games. I think it’s possible. Gase has constructed this team as much in the image he wants as possible in 3 years. The offensive line should be improved with Laremy Tunsil at LT, Josh Sitton at LG, Dan Kilgore at C, Jesse Davis at RG and Ja’Wuan James at RT. He brought in Gore to teach our young backs how to conduct themselves as professionals. Gore, Drake, Ballage and whoever have the talent to move the football. We have some crafty veterans in Kenny Stills, Danny Amendola, and we also have the speedy slot man Albert Wilson, as well as the ultra-fast Jakeem Grant. If Devante Parker ever plays up to his potential, we may have one of the most dangerous WR corps in the NFL. That’s our starting QB, let’s take a look at the rest.
Brock Osweiler QB – 6’7″ 240
Osweiler came into the NFL in the same draft as Ryan Tannehill. He was a 2nd RD pick (57th overall) to the Denver Broncos, who at that time had the great Peyton Manning as their starter. Osweiler finally got his chance to start in 2016 and it wasn’t pretty. Osweiler completed under 60% of his passes (59.02%), throwing for 2957 yards along with 15 TD’s, and 16 INT’s and a QBR of 72.2. Not pretty. In 2017, Trevor Siemian won the starting job, so Osweiler managed to play in only 6 games with 4 starts, and it wasn’t any better than 2016 for Brock. Osweiler was drafted for near elite arm strength, but his accuracy and decision making have countered any arm talent he possesses. He wil, face some stiff competition for the backup QB job here in Miami from David Fales, who Gase brought over from the Chicago Bears. Maybe Gase can work some magic with the big fella, he’ll have to if Osweiler is going to ever help us.
___________________________________________________________
David Fales QB – 6’2″ 213
Fales was the backup QB in Chicago when Jay Cutler was the QB. During the 2016 season, the Bears employed 5 different QB’s when Cutler struggled with injuries, with names such as Jay Cutler, Matt Barkley, Brian Hoyer, Cameron Meredith, and of course David Fales. Fales only appeared in one game for the Bears that season, and it was very late in the game. In 2017, Gase brought Fales to the Dolphins (Along with Jay Cutler after Tannehill was ruled out for the season). Fales appeared in the final game of the 2017 season against Buffalo, and played fairly well in a 22-16 loss. That was the fateful game where Landry was ejected for extracurricular activities. So not a huge body of work to see, but I do recall Fales looking pretty good in the 2017 preseason, for what that’s worth. Fales definitely has a chance to be our backup, especially if Osweiler continues on his current trajectory.
__________________________________________________________
Bryce Petty QB – 6’3″ 230
First off, if the NY Jets cast away a QB, why would ANYONE even look at them? Petty was a fiery, competitive, team leader for the Baylor Bears. Yes, it was a spread offense, as many college offenses are, so he needed a lot of work playing under center and going through progressions. Well, he didn’t progress well in the NY Jet organization, and when he did get a chance to play, it was pretty miserable. As a draftee, he was a QB who had better than average arm strength, good size, and very good leadership characteristics. He led Baylor to 2 back to back Big 12 championships. He had a great college career with impressive stats and pedigree. He will be a dark horse to even make the team, we have carried 2 QB’s in the past, including last season until Fales was added to the roster in late October. Petty has little time to really impress to earn a roster spot here, and it’s very unlikely he can pull that off.
So that’s where we stand at the QB position. It’s basically Ryan Tannehill or bust, and I’m actually OK with that. I feel like with a better O-line, Sitton on the left side next to Tunsil, and Kilgore opening up holes for our run game, it will make things easier for Tannehill as the Dolphins offense will be more efficient. Hey, I waited till the very last paragraph to mention we actually drafted a TE, TWO of them! As we all know, a TE can be a QB’s best friend, and now Tannehill has at least 2. I’m excited to see our new offense take the field. This truly will be a team effort, and we will not be relying on any 1 superstar to take over a game. We have plenty of options on offense, with the aforementioned WR corps, with Gore, Drake and Ballage, as well as the TE’s Gesicki and Smythe and maybe Derby, Gray or Escobar, whomever wins that 3rd TE spot. I wouldn’t take any one Dolphins player in a Fantasy Football league this season, I think a lot of our players are going to be involved, we’re really going to spread the ball around. This is ideal for #17.
GO DOLPHINS!

sweet, right on the page turn
LOL
LOL I Just realized that was only one game.
Get’s me excited to watch this years action
GO DOLPHINS!
I thought all he does is throw 5 yard passes? 😉
Damn if feels good to be a gangsta
here is one for you. Gangsta is not a word, but spell check as just given up…..LOL
Bow Down!
Bow Down before Davon Gadchaux !!
http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2018/07/06/miami-dolphins-see-davon-godchaux-as-dt-who-can-handle-double-teams-sound-familiar/
‘Feel good’ article about Godchaux, but we’ll see how well he does without Suh playing next to him this year. Let’s not pretend that Godchaux would have rocked as a rook without one of the best DTs in the game playing beside him.
I’m cautiously optimistic.
GO GODCHAUX!!!
And…
GO PHILLIPS!!!
It’s YOUR time to show and prove!!!
His individual play had nothing to do with Suh. It’s not like Suh wiped out the entire OL and Godchaux ran free all the time. Godchaux is a lunch pail player who comes to work everyday and fights every down. He’s not as gifted as Suh but not many players are. He earned his snaps last year as a rookie and had 100 more than Phillips.
But again think new scheme and rotation. It’s attack, attack, attack. That’s why we could keep 10 DL this year. Maybe only 8 dress for the game sometimes, but they are all going to play about 30 snaps PG, that’s the philosophy.
I love Godchaux’s attitude. He believes if he gets lax he’s gone. You need guys like that. High motor guys can make up for a lack of “special” talent. So far he was a very good 5th rd pick. I expect him to get better because he works at his craft.

here you go some more bulletin board material
————–
YUP! This is what I’m talkin’ about. This isn’t sports ‘journalism’… this is straight GARBAGE. It’s not even ‘lazy’: it’s BIASED and doesn’t even go so far as to account for factual data… let alone any kind of RESEARCH.
Rockphin, thanks for sharing this because it gives The Phinsider the click… NOT fake-ass ESPN. Well done!
At any rate, it’s just more nonsense and I’m not getting excited about it. Know why? I don’t CARE what ESPN (Mickey Mouse) has to say about us! But I’d sure like for our players to see it, in order to light a FIRE under their tails! As you said, Rockphin… “bulletin board material”!
The whole “nobody saw it coming” narrative next year is going to make me laugh. I freakin saw it.
SAME!!!
Because they don’t look or do their due diligence. They just say oh look at who they lost and will Tannehill hold up? Bad team. Okay we’ll see.
https://phinphanatic.com/2018/07/06/dolphins-camp-preview-ryan-tannehill/
Here’s another link that says almost exactly what you said.
Funny thing is, we didn’t lose anyone, we moved those players out. Whether it pans out, we’ll see, but it’s viewed like these players left. No… they were fired and traded.
ORob,
I realize you’re taking a lot of heat for some of the Tannehill vids you’re posting, but I actually appreciate it. I’d EXPECT Tannehill and Gase to review some of these previous failings, so as not to repeat them in the future.
You’re giving us something by which to measure Tanny by, and I hope/think we’re going to see even MORE positive gains this season.
If our O-Line is fixed (I HOPE!!!), Tannehill should thrive this year after studying his azz off for over a year.

His individual play had nothing to do with Suh…
————–
I beg to differ. That’s NOTHING against Godchaux (who I LOVE, too!), but Suh’s mere presence on the field helped ANYBODY lined up next to him… hence the $$$ we paid for him. Opposing offenses actually had to GAMEPLAN around Suh… that’s how disruptive a FORCE he is/was.
But I’ll agree with ya on this: Godchaux is for REAL! I wouldn’t be surprised if he emerges as a future stud. And I also agree with everything else you wrote about Godchaux.
Wake played at a high level without Suh and so has Hayes. Good players are good players. Not saying Suh doesn’t have a presence and makes a difference. But I find it unfair for other players to make too much out of that. After all the defense never really got better since Suh was here. They were also constantly transitioning during that time. The biggest part of the game that I was disappointed in Suh was his lack of pass rush. I thought he’d bring more to the table – 6.0, 5.0 and 4.5 sacks. I was expecting 8-10.
Totally concurred… I, too, thought Suh would bring more to the table, statistically. Nevertheless, his presence DID make an impact… it just never translated to the $$$ he was making, nor did it lead us to a championship of any kind.
My HOPE is that Godchaux is going to emerge… and I think he will. 🙂
In hindsight we weren’t ready for a Suh signing. It was Tannenbaum making a splash his 1st year as VPoFO and at least he chose a top player. But the timing was off and knee jerk.
Like we’ve discussed before, it seems that Grier has corralled Tannenbaum to focus more on value. Good players at good prices over top dollar and one guy can only do so much. I think Grier has a big voice in personnel. This season will let us know if they hit on it, or wow… we’re still not good? That’s not a 2019 offseason I’m looking forward to.
So right now, I’m focusing on upside until we know otherwise. 🙂
Stop it, cant you guys see he’s trolling you?
Trolls are pussys. ORob is not a pussy. Ask him.
He even admits he’s doing it.
Young drafted players who can change the dynamic of this team.
DEF – Godchaux, Harris, McMillan, Howard, Tankersley, Fitzpatrick
OFF – Tunsil, Gesicki, Drake, Grant
I agree with Tim on Godchaux, but we’ll see this year.

NO no no no no, dumb elephant rider….Tebow was unquestionably better because he brought another facet to his game…that of a power runner….that made him a better QB…Wait, what? That doesn’t make sense after all does it?
_________________________________________________________
Tebow took a team to the playoffs and won a playoff game, he did more in one year than Miami as a team has done in the last 18 years.
a win is a win regardless of how pretty it looks

ESPN predicts the best 2018 newcomer in each division. These nitwits cant even answer their own question properly.
In the NFC West they picked Jimmy Garo Polo. I believe he played last year for them.
I guess we still don’t have an ESPN writer.
That’s exactly what we need this time of year, guys that push the women to the side and do themselves 😉
LOL @ Matty I. 😆
It doesn’t exactly WORK that way, Matty I.
Why not?
This according to the national media isn’t an upgrade, because Landry is the best WR in the history of the NFL, now that he’s no longer a Fin.
CNN has really out done themselves this time😁 Parents of trapped boys haven’t seen their sons, reads the headline. Well no shit Sherlock, unless they have teleporters.

Sample size, formations, DB match-ups, QB telegraphing the pass, tendency/frequency, and blocking ability of the WR corps.
I REALLY LIKE the acquisition of Albert Wilson and can no longer stand Jarvis Landry, but there’s more to it than this one simple stat. THAT’S REAL
But for the record, we aren’t going to miss Jarvis Landry! 🙂
So long as Tannehill spreads the ball around, I can all but guarantee that Jarvis Landry won’t be missed. And yes… Albert Wilson WILL be a great asset… so long as we don’t run a screen-pass to him 1 out of every 2 plays, as we did with Jarvis.
Understand what I mean? 🙂
Ah si jefe
I agree to an extent, but you can only play in the situation given, so Wilson excelled in his. Jarvis did too, but it really didn’t lead to anything, so a misleading stat.
As long as Landry was on our O it couldn’t take the next step. He’ll probably be more valuable to Clev.
Jay Cutler’s wife’s reality TV show premiered…. laughing at this one in the article. Guess the women weren’t used to him like we are. 🙂
“Forget the manufactured drama between Cavallari’s employees. Cutler, 35, clearly steals the show with his don’t-care attitude. He sighs when Cavallari asks if he’s “100 percent done with football.” He spends most of his time on screen sighing, shrugging or staring.”

So long as it’s ESPN, I will NOT click on the link. Just sayin’!
You are right M
We will not be missing Landry. This offense is ready to roll. Got plenty of tools they just need to get it together and for once have that OL hold up.
Yep, addition by subtraction.
YUP @ ER!!!
The one thing about TC that I don’t look forward to are the inevitable injuries that happen. They always happen all across the league and it’s the shitty part of this game. Just hope we’re not one of the teams that gets hit with a rash of them. Fingers crossed. 🙂
I agree, but this year we seem to have depth at a lot of positions, so we should be able to overcome them.
There are however a few guys I’m not sure we can afford to lose, 2 of which didn’t play last year.
Just say no to the supplemental draft. Anyone know of a player from these drafts that was any good?
I found the list, Chris Carter is the only one to make the HOF, but I don’t think any of these guys are in that class. Maybe a late round flyer, if you like someone, but I don’t like losing next years puck for a problem child.
“”””There’s a saying in coaching that you never want to be the guy following The Guy. But you do want to be the guy following Fox or Jeff Fisher, two adherents to a run-first philosophy that may not come back into vogue until a few more generations of guys roam the sideline.”””

http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2018/07/09/frank-gore-will-be-35-but-heres-why-miami-dolphins-dont-really-care/
From the article:
Gregg Doyel of The Indianapolis Star, in a column criticizing the Colts for letting Gore walk, revealed that in that game in Buffalo in which Gore had 130 yards, he broke a thumb. The Colts suggested season-ending surgery to insert a pin.
“I’m a football player,” Gore said. “I’m playing.”
“By keeping in terrific shape, Gore has managed 12 straight seasons with at least 1,200 yards from scrimmage. The only backs with more carries than his 3,226 are Emmitt Smith (all-time leader at 4,409), Walter Payton, Curtis Martin and Jerome Bettis. None has a better per-carry average than Gore’s 4.4.”
“I’m a football player. I’m playing.” Puts him on the list with Sitton and Minkah of new players who I really like before they play a down for us.
Yes! With these guys it’s about the team, and the game. It’s not about me, me, me.
Like Tim and I think Son said, if we can’t change the culture here with these kinda of guys, then I give up, lol.
The Ronnie Lotts of Miami
“””Just cut it off, I’m playing””” R Lott
GOFINS!!!

Maybe the admin’s first post has to be approved set-up is a good idea. “In June, Twitter said its systems identified and challenged more than 9.9 million potentially Spammy or automated accounts per week.”
I didn’t realize Drake was that effective in pass blocking. 1 pressure in 50+ snaps is lights out good.
Let’s wait and see on how good Drake is at pass pro. Not sure how he did it, but lot of times Cutler was throwing it away before the ball was even snapped.
I didn’t no what his numbers were but he looked good in pass pro a bunch of times.
Stang,
Cutler avoided contact, but that is after he would get pressured. Last year I don’t recall him throwing it away constantly before he’d even get pressured.
50+ pass blocking snaps is a pretty good sample size. I was under the impression that Drake might be a liability in pass pro or at best just ok, but apparently he was pretty good.
Just like everything else about Drake, hopefully he can continue to build on what he did last year.

Its a bidding system, so you just put in the bid you are willing to pay and let the chips fall as they may. If we put in a 5 round bid on Beal and get him, great, if someone else puts in a 3rd, good for them, and we just move on
Thanks, I know how it works was asking, if anyone of note had gone this route.
The only guys worth looking at are CB/DB’s, maybe one LB,
But we’re good at both!!!
Maybe they’ll consider a late round flyer on an under the radar DT ??
There not all of “”questionable character””,
some just weren’t eligible for the regular draft due to other (non-character) factors!!!
“””Chris Carter””” via Dolphins initially but ended up a Vikings lifer!!
That Chris Carter/ WR ??
Are you thinking Anthony Carter?
We had him late in his career, he was supplemental drafted by Eagles.
I remember both Chris Carter, and Joe Theisman being momentary Dolphins that Shula (released/cut/traded??)
in their first year at Miami…
No-Matter Now!!!
Just came up due to supplemental draft…
Steve, the only player of note, I can think of, that entered through the supplemental draft was Bernie Kosar.
The Boz was a supplemental player. There have been some pro-bowlers come out of supplemental, but i cant think of any player that would make an all time list for me.
Yeah because of some age technicality at the time.

“Are you serious, Clark”? This was yet another PR stunt by Jack Dorsey: the liberal/Russian spammers are STILL in full force to this day.
Did Jack want to stop the spamming? NO… he censored and shadow-banned conservative voices. Same thing is going on over at Facebook, too.
And if ya don’t believe little ol’ ME, do some homework, will ya?
For the love of the Republic, even Zuckerburg is being grilled on Capital Hill for his censorship of #1A rights.
I can’t believe we’re even having this conversation!!! 😡
The media has so much BS out there that anyone that watches mainstream media regularly, buys into it. It’s really sad what these people have done to news outlets, schools, movies, and sports.
Just reporting what was in an article, which included that Twitter stock crashed cause they had to downgrade their usage numbers because they were removing bots (no mention of what kind really).
Why do you think Dorsey would do something that would hurt the value of his company?
Because that’s what he was told to do.
By who steve? My guess is that he was forced to because there being all those fake accounts out there is an open secret at this point. And ten mil fake accounts per week did catch my eye. Which was my point to start with, and exactly zero political intent involved. And Twitter stock just took a nosedive.
Okung advocating for guaranteed NFL contracts. Wah, it isn’t fair that baseball and basketball have guaranteed contracts ..
A better idea is why don’t we take all the money from all sports and entertainment fields, and give it to the govt, then they can come up with a base salary for all of them. Then there would be no problem, they’d each make 2k per week and everything would be fair.
The extra money that comes in can be used for the entitlement programs.
13kv, that was Anthony Carter Shula traded to the Vikings. Chris Carter became a Phin after a career with the Eagles and most notably the Vikings.
Works for me, different sameness as far as the production we got outta either…
Goin from memory on all..
What about Joe Theisman??
Still kinda remember Chris Carter being a Dolphin initially, and gone to Vikes as quickly due to the sticky nugget rumors???
Anthony Carter lead the Vikings in receiving for quite a few years. He was traded for LB Robert Sendlien who didn’t amount to anything.
Yep Shula traded Theisman too.
No Chris Carter was drafted by the Eagles in the 4th rd of the 1987 NFL Supplemental Draft. He was cut by Buddy Ryan for alcohol and drug abuse in 1990 and claimed by the Vikings.
Maybe it was just a story I’m remembering about the Dolphins wanting Chris Carter at draft, but passed on him due to rumors..
I know that if he wasn’t initially a Dolphin,
He almost was upon entering NFL…
Long time ago, when the earth was green!!!
Maybe I’m thinking of “”A Football Life””
Shula or Carter
Think it was Shula suggesting that he wanted Chris Carter in that Supplemental Draft, but someone else swooped before Miami??
Again, No-Matter Now!!!

Gilt – a female pig who has not given birth
Otherwise maybe there’s a sow?
PBP has an article about TJ and playing with 3 safeties and moving guys around, then says the team may want to hold back in August, because we have 2 division games in Sept. How many times have we done this in the past only to not be ready to use it once the season starts?
It’s not like the jets and cheats are going to start watching tape of our preseason games in August to figure out our D. It will change week to week and maybe play to play, so just do it.
Seems pretty clear that we will be playing 3 safety schemes though based on this quote, even if once you do that not sure what the difference is if you say TJ is a S or an LB if you have one less LB in.
“T.J. is playing safety. If we have to make adjustments somewhere. … He’s not moving to linebacker. He’s going to be a safety and then we’re going to figure out a way to get our best 11 players on the field.”
Even if they did, in the game they don’t know who’s doing what on any specific play and football still comes down to the physical part. Ya still have to block it and win matchups.
Has anyone covered this yet?????????
I heard it was one of the worst groups in the league. 😉
If these allegations are true, Shady is finished.
They always deny, but I can’t ever remember a story like this come out and it be totally false, so either way he’s looking at a suspension, if not ban.
Now all we need is Gore to say something nice about Brady 😉
Well someone did that to this woman. Like you said if he did do this, forget the NFL, he’s going to prison.
McCoy said hasn’t seen any of these people in a good long while. But then the fact he denies at least says he knows them. If she got beat up that bad by him, the cops will figure it out though.
He’s lying, because if he hasn’t seen them in a while and they fabricated the whole thing his lawyer would’ve already filed a defamation of character suit.
They don’t call him Shady for nothing.
Our RBs are the best we’ve had since Rickey/Ronnie. Ajayi was pretty good some games, but the depth wasn’t there, so when he struggled the running game struggled.
Sounds like Shady has a lot to deal with.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to LeSean McCoy’s Georgia house early Monday morning for a “home invasion” — and the operator says the female victim was hit in the head.
In the audio, obtained by TMZ Sports, the operator sends police and medical personnel to the home around 3:23 AM ET… saying, “It’s gonna be in reference to a female who was assaulted, hit in the head and locked in the bathroom.”
That first interception by X above was freaking incredible! Little Grant man breaking 3 tackles and trucking over the KC safety was pretty freaking awesome too!
Three highlights were Drake in less than half a season of significant snaps. 😉
LOL, but those were his only good plays…..He only ran for 1.8 yard average on first down (that is after you take away his first down runs on first down and what ever other fuzzy math was used to come up with that “stat”) 😉
That whole 1st down thing is bizarre to me. A lot of it is about blocking, not because he can’t smash DL into the ground. LOL
We’re a zone running team, not a power run you over team. Ajayi didn’t run people over at the LOS either. That’s a fallacy.

………..um, Drake was on the team and sitting behind Ajayi………..
But he wasn’t being used much, he hadn’t broken out yet.
Right, Williams was next up. He ran with conviction, but not an overly instinctive runner. Good receiver though. However not irreplaceable with the emergence of Drake, the addition of Gore and the young buck Ballage who could turn out to be a real good pick. He’s got the physical skills, he needs to learn the finer points of the game like Drake did.
In 2016 Gase didn’t think the rookie Drake was ready for a heavier workload on offense but was a key STs player. He stepped it up last year and this year he will be a focus on offense.
Tim, stop being such a homer! LOL 😉
You know the narrative, catch up will you?
I know timelines and reasons don’t count. You’re either awesome from day one or you’re not awesome. Oh wait, Ajayi only had 49 rushes his rookie season. What happened there? Also how did Drake have more receps than Ajayi has ever had in a season with less than a full season of significant snaps? LOL
————
😆
Yeah, like I suppose the Dolphins sent in a highlight reel with Jarvis Landry, Ndamukong Suh, (focus on) Jay Cutler or Matt Moore, Jay Ajayi, or ANY former Dolphins players! 😆
Omar at his finest! 😆
Okay Omar post the better ones so we have more of them from a really bad team. LOL
Might have been selected, but three of them were Parker. And man can he catch. Talent to be an alpha wideout is there.
It WAS selected. Proof: Jarvis was ‘only’ 1/2 of our Offense last year, led the NFL in receptions, and set a career-high in TDs last year with 9.
DeVante can be GREAT!!! You’ll NEVER hear me throwing dirt on him!
Yep! If Parker is healthy he changes this entire offense. He makes it loaded. Gesicki can work his way in and not have to be the big bodied guy, just do your job when called on.
stanger,
I don’t know much about playing WR, but I agree on Parker. I saw him make some really nice catches for us the last couple years. There weren’t a ton of them, but you could see the ability is there. If he can find a way to stay healthy and reach his potential, he could be a real asset.
Randy — when I put out “alpha wideout” that didn’t mean #1 WR, but then he hasn’t been even that for us yet. One can dream though. 🙂
Stanger,
Sorry if I came off a little STRONG to you yesterday, regarding Twitter. I just thought that it was ‘basic 101’ what’s going on there, and most people already know as much… I guess you didn’t know?
I realize that you weren’t trying to make it political, but it IS political, what’s going on there. As is the case with Facebook.
I don’t see any restriction with either side politics on FB. It’s rampant on both sides. What I do see is a lot of fake propaganda from both sides that doesn’t help anyone. Honesty is lost from both parties but all they do is accuse the other of being dishonest. That’s not good for The United States of America.
I don’t think you realize what I’m talking about either, Tim. No offense intended.
Okay cryptic man. LOL
M13 — I am now going to blow your mind. Don’t have an account on Twitter, Facebook, or Linked In…. and what is Instagram?. So when it comes to to stuff like that please realize that and just teach me what is up.
stanger,
You don’t usually go crazy in your opinions, so I understand. I just think the tools are there for him to beat defenders on a regular basis. That, to me, is an alpha player….not necessarily the “#1” guy. A guy who can win his individual matchup most of the time and then make the play. Parker can beat guys, but he doesn’t always make the play….but you can see it’s there. He’s gotta put the package all together, or he’ll be like many other NFL players who never panned out regardless of talent. I hope he does. It’d be nice to have one of those guys pan out for us once! Lol
Randy — he’s got Julio Jones in him, but he has the Dez Bryant factor as well. And maybe Dez is a bad one to bring up cause yeah he makes plays too….but you get the idea. Will guarantee he’ll never be Jerry Rice though.

My FRIEND(!), you have access to the internet. REALIZE that the liberal MSM won’t report on ANYTHING contrary to their leftist beliefs… it’s like Nazi Germany again.
Do a search, using Twitter + shadow banning, in your search engine. You’ll find what I’m talking about. And THEN, you’ll realize that the liberal MSM is suppressing information from US.
M13 — thing is I just don’t care all that much about it. And even if I did how could I change what is happening? Pay attention to stuff like this board, my friends, my investments, the Fest and other projects am involved with. Already explained that the broader social media world is not my thing. Why should I bark at the moon?
Not on Facebook. Both sides have equal access to rants, facts and propaganda. I always felt Twitter having a character limit was set up to be stupid. IG is personal stupidity more than anything. “Hey look at me doing stupid shit!” LOL
It’s one thing to have 112 receps and a 8.8 YPCA but it’s not his fault. It’s another because he doesn’t do anything more than that or he would have. Nobody wants to stop you from being super explosive if you are.

I’m not ‘cryptic’, Bro! LOL
I’m just another informed American (RARE!), who is watching BOTH sides of the aisle, as a Constitutionalist… like Mark Levin.
Really? That’s what I am. I consider myself a libertarian political watchdog. But I will challenge both sides because they are both fucked in the head. Don’t forget the duopoly, it still exists. Except now the left is really going off course with violent, authoritarian views that the majority does not resonate with. Let them bury themselves. They deserve it.
If the right ever moved more center/moderate, they would win the will of the people. Progressive/angry/socialist/authoritarianism will not. That’s an extreme sect. The majority of American people do not like anti-American sentiments. But the right needs to stop with their own value system. We have laws. Their personal ideologies and traditions are not for everyone either under the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
The Libertarians need to bond with the moderates and take this two party nonsense over. It’s not like political parties have never changed or have been abolished.
We The People can change it. We just don’t.
It’s the off season and Mike is on vacation. Guess politics is a way to keep the board churning, but then I see that everywhere else. Not that won’t discuss, but this is my safe zone. 🙂

Because YOU are unaffected by as much in retirement. That makes you out of touch, my good friend.
For the rest of America, social media is USED by most employers as a screening prerequisite for employment these days. THAT’S how BIG social media has become… rightfully or wrongfully (wrongfully).
So when social media has become THAT important, why try to SILENCE a certain group of people? I’m sorry, but that’s infringing on #1A rights, my friend.
Again, it doesn’t affect YOU, but it affects the rest of us who are NOT YET retired. It’s a Constitutional ‘dilemma’ at this point. Do you understand where I’m coming from, my friend?
And if you don’t YET understand where I’m coming from, look at Roseanne Barr getting FIRED from her own show for her opinions on social media.
My Brother… it’s a new age.
If one can be fired for as much, there should be ZERO censorship.

TOTALLY AGREED, my man! It seems to have ‘dumbed-down’ a great many people… almost by DESIGN! However, it’s now doubled it’s character limit.
ONLY reason I got on Twitter to begin with was to get the BREAKING NEWS… and if ya know who to follow, it’s generally accurate. (Pssst… I stopped following Omar a LONG time ago!).
Twitter is great for the flow of information. Not discussions. Do your job. 🙂
Enough political talk from me… I hope I’ve OPENED people’s minds, instead of accepting the ‘State-Run Media’ and their very narrow point of view.
Examine BOTH sides of the coin in order to obtain it’s TRUE value.
I think Old Dolfan would concur!

Twitter and facebook lead directly to this
My wife is addicted to facebook. Apparently she has like 700 more friends than I do.
M13 — thanks for giving me the inside scoop on how social media is impacting stuff. Was way before in an old life was the one who told the older folks that we should google our job candidates. Even if way behind the curve, might have helped what is going on now. But man did stuff come up at times.
It’s ALL good, my friend! Times are a changin’, man.
No doubt on that one. And hear about such, but is social media hurting job stuff? You could go semi-off the radar like me. 🙂
The Times They Are a-Changin’ – Bob Dylan, was written in 1964. The Beatles were taking over the world with their sound, The Rolling Stones and The Who were right behind them. The blues and jazz were all over everything. It’s the same debate. The real issue is the cost of living. That’s what everyone cares about.
We all love music and fun. Duh! LOL

I hear ya, bud. But for me… I WILL STAND for what is right. But to answer your question… NO, social media isn’t hurting ME in any way. I see it hurting so many others instead, and this troubles me as a compassionate Constitutionalist.
As a stand up MAN, I will STAND for my fellow Americans and their Constitutional rights, my Brother.
AGAIN (back to football), I’ve got something to offer…
A collective 2,000 yard rushing effort by a team all but guarantees a playoff spot, if not more.
Do we honestly believe that Drake, Gore, and Ballage can do this? It’s all contingent upon the O-Line and playing from AHEAD (instead of BEHIND).
I say… YES(!!!), we can DO THIS!!!
Yep, it’s all on the OL, and for once I think they can handle it. I’ve liked the OL in other offseasons too, but in those years the beat writers didn’t, this year I don’t really hear any negative about them only maybe let’s see.
“Now I’m a tell yous something and yous better be listening” ~ RIP, Sam
IF Tannehill is well protected (O-Line) and doesn’t consistently target only ONE GUY all day (see Jarvis Landry), this Offense is going to ROCK this year!
That’s it! Nothing more, nothing less. Keep Tannehill clean, spread the ball around, give our RBs honest reps to keep opposing Defense’s honest, and we’ll become a top-10 (perhaps 5) Offense.
THAT’S REAL
I can see Amendola being the new Landry and get 90 catches, but his average wont be < 10 yards per rec.
I see him more 60-600 3-5 TDs but will help the younger WRs along the way. Nothing wrong with that,
The reason I said 90 Tim is, because of how much RT targeted him in mini camp. They seem to have a connection.
Found a handful of my old Dolphins football cards when throwing stuff out of the house last night getting ready for this move. They’re not in great shape so I can’t really sell them, but don’t really want to keep them.
There’s a PBP article about Jordan Phillip’s wanting to be elite, but the interview picture shows a clueless look (says to me his heart isn’t in it). You cant say what he did, with that look, and expect people to take you serious.
I have my doubts he’ll be anything more than what he’s been.
MF13; UP the page you said “I’ll bet Old Dolfan would concur.”
YOU are RIGHT, young man!
The last two presidential elections, I’ve voted LIBERTARIAN both locally (if they have a candidate) and nationally. This all started in 1968 when I voted for President for the first time. I COULD NOT, IN GOOD CONSCIENCE, vote for one of the “Three Stooges” listed on the ballot (Nixon,Humphrey, Wallace). So I voted for an independent candidate. ‘Nuff said.

Air conditioning was out for 3 days recently. But with the help of fans, both me and Mrs. OD slept well. Also, our internet was down for a couple of days, too. A report on a local TV Channel said an OLD FART was spotted with wire cutters near the office of the internet provider. ELEPHANT RIDER will be pleased to know that he could have passed for STEVE ROSS’s TWIN BROTHER!!
———————————————————————————
RAYS ANNOUNCED yesterday they’ll build a non-retractable domed stadium with a see-through roof for almost $900,000,000 (make that an even 1 billion with cost over runs). It seats JUST OVER 28,000. Apparently, a special tax to pay for it IS OFF THE TABLE due to overwhelming taxpayer hostility. Perhaps a penny or two of the bed tax and rental car tax will be sent to the stadium project but they are still FAR SHORT OF ADEQUATELY FUNDING this tiny stadium. I’ll believe this stadium will be built when I see it (SHOW ME!). Until then, Montreal, San Antonio and Las Vegas will still have a real chance to get this franchise to relocate. Assuming MLB continues to oppose meaningful hard salary caps and floors, this franchise can’t move fast enough to please the skeptics and the critics of current baseball stadium funding.

OUT for several days to attend a convention in Orlando.
JUST KIDDING, ELEPHANT RIDER!
LOL!
Shady update — he didn’t do it, but yeah it was his girlfriend that he was trying to evict from the house he owned who got beat up bad. Her lawyer says that the person — who was not caught — came in without forced entry and demanded specific items of jewelry that he had given her and had demanded back before.
And like a month before he’d tried to get friends to take all her stuff out while she was out of town. She caught it happening remotely via the security system and cops stopped. Shady then changed systems and didn’t give her access.
It sounds like he coordinated the home invasion to get the jewelry he wanted back. That’s still really bad.
Agree with everything except the “invasion” part. What did not include was that she had got back from a long trip hours before that night late. Thinking he got someone to go in and take back the specific stuff with her not there…. and went from there.
Maybe so, but whoever it was didn’t have to beat her. So maybe that’s not on McCoy, but the guy he sent there is a real piece of shit so that is suspicious.

The airport employee started it and Jones finished it. The employee was arrested.
Did you catch the vid though? Not like once started PacMan wasn’t “game is on.” His GF was trying to keep him out of it. And it is in the middle of an airport. More folks there to break up a fight than any bar you have ever been in. And he is a FA.
Yeah I watched it, Jones was walking away and the guy kept coming at him. Then he said okay, it’s go time. Not saying what he did was the right way to go about it, but the airport employee incited it.
I think Brian Miller at phinsider has been reading MIke E’s stuff. Maybe just coincidence, but his first “camp battle” article and on QBs too.
“Miami Dolphins camp battle previews the quarterbacks”
https://phinphanatic.com/2018/07/11/miami-dolphins-camp-battle-previews-quarterbacks/
Nobody reads Mike E’s stuff…just scroll down to the babe of the week which is gone now… LOL
I read his stuff all the time and it is awesome. Imagine how hard it is to put that stuff together when you as old as he is and just single hand. 🙂
Steve, I think Tannehill targeting Amendola so much in OTAs might have just been to get on the same page.
I don’t think so. I think, just like with Landry, he sees the open man and gets him the ball.
Well Wilson and Grant were working with the 2’s a lot. Wilson because the team is working him at all the WR positions which he didn’t do in KC, and Grant because they’re trying to expand his roll. So Stills, Parker and Amendola were the main three working with Tannehill.
Stanger, Facebook is great for keeping in touch with family and friends you don’t get to see often or to share stuff of interest with each other. But the political stuff and whining about everything gets way out of hand. LOL
Know what Facebook does. My better half is an addict. We are driving through wherever on vacation is and while I am saying “there’s the Coliseum” she is checking out how many likes and comments on the pics from wherever we were before.
Most humans are social creatures. Obviously all of us here are. LOL
Not me
Looks like a couple of guys, Alexander Wash and Beal NYG went in the supp. draft. Not sure if that’s it. I hope we didn’t take anyone.
Nope it appears that was it.
I dont think the 6th round bid on Alexander was too much. Thats said, were i the one making the decision, the only bid i would have place would have been on Beal and it would havent been anything higher than a 5th. We dont have a need that would have pushed us to leverage a good pick in next years draft to get them. Alexander i might have thrown a 7th down just to have a bid out there but im not overly impressed with him.
I would have low-balled both bids, thats kinda how i see the supp draft, a chance to buy low on a guy who is a little bit of a risky buy, but has upside.
I wasn’t expecting us to bid high. We probably bid low as you said or not at all.
We have all 1-7 picks in 2019. Not sure if we have the Landry pick from CLE or our own because we traded one of them for Akeem Spence.

———————————–
Could be a lot of things. Will take PS games to really speculate on what the real reason is.
Agreed. See my 4:55 response to Steve.
OTAs are the start of getting back into the football groove and fundamentals etc. I don’t take much from it other than it’s happening. LOL
OTAs don’t count, but they matter. I don’t care about individual plays, but the overall work is what I look at.
I guess to some degree, but more for the team than us fans. We won’t be talking about OTAs, TC or the PS in September.
Mostly just for young guys and new guys, those that need to impress, but if they don’t chances are they won’t in the beginning of the season either. It doesn’t go the other way though, with looking good in OTAs, doesn’t garentee anything.
Steve, young players being cerebral and looking good in shorts in OTAs is one thing, when the pads come on is when the 53 man evaluations start.
That’s not what I’m saying. I saying if they don’t show in mini camp chances are they aren’t going to once the season starts. They may later in the year, but rarely at the beginning.
I’m not debating you, just adding my thoughts on the subject in general.

What a WEEK for NFL players off the field… and it’s only Wednesday.
WOW! And it’s still only Wednesday!
The NFL on their way to deal with league issues. LOL

What’s shakin’ peeps?
What’s good, Phelon?!!
Life. Sitting at an Irish Bar in Lake Mary drinking bourbon and Guinness on a perfect night.
I envy ya, Brother. I’ve got to get up before the sun rises for work tomorrow. Nevertheless, I’m enjoying myself this evening. The weather is far less humid than the last week up here in PA… that’s a win in and of itself.
Seriously, I’m getting ‘amped up’ for this upcoming season, man.
Well, I have to be up and on site tomorrow at 0500, so not too much envy. I just don’t sleep much when I travel.
Yeah I’m pretty psyched for the season as well.
It better not be your ass, the NFL is on their way, LOL
Hey now, Homey don’t swing that way!
LOL @ Phelon… HOMEY DON’T PLAY DAT!
Okay little childrens. LOL
Great show!
Lake Mary?
You’re mere minutes from me.
Missed this last night Son. I’ll be here two more nights. Staying at the Hampton next to Heathrow.
Just like at receiver ((( one day ))) after a receiver is lost
The ((( next day ))) the Dolphins replaced that receiver with TWO equatable
(though more rounded and athletically talented receivers)!!!
“””””Jermon Bushrod became an unrestricted free agent (March 14) … Released Mike Pouncey (March 15) … Acquired Daniel Kilgore, along with a 2018 seventh-round pick, in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers for a 2018 seventh-round pick (March 15) … Signed Josh Sitton as an unrestricted free agent (March 16) …”””””
Again, the very next day, the losses are replaced with equatable, more reliably healthy players!!!
This kind of timing doesn’t happen by chance,
It was obviously the Miami Dolphins plan since o17’s dreadful end,
led by those that are no longer on the roster!!!
GOFINS!!!
The C that SF got in FA Weston Richburg was one of my top FA targets!!!
When SF grabbed him it opened the door for us to get recently re-signed with SF’s Danial Kilgore…
Other than landing Richburg ourselves,
The Dolphins plan couldn’t have come together any more perfectly
(In a matter of ONE DAY) between losses & gains
At OL & Receiver !!!
It’s not who you add, unless you’re a team they like, its who you lost.
I know Huhh!!
Beginning of FA folks are always suggesting
“”””If a guy’s on the market there’s something wrong with him”””
Then someone signs a Dolphin FA,
And then whadayaknow,
Suddenly a “””superstar was a FA”””
“””Something wrong with any FA Miami lands,
while any Dolphin that leaves Miami is a superstar lost””
Jaded Dolphin fans, and to some extent (rightfully so),
But our luck is bound to change, the odds suggest
That it’s long overdue!!!
GOFINS!!!
I believe we’re better everywhere but at one DT spot!!!
I see Dick Barnwell, I’ll just call him Stugotz, has our receivers ranked 31st. How do these guys keep their jobs? In a regular business an analyst that was that far off would’ve been fired a long time ago.
Oh brother!
Part of the justification for the low ranking is no TE drafted in the 2nd or later has had 700 yards in his rookie season. Why do we need Gesicki to get 700 yards for our receivers to be good?
Stugotz I guess didn’t notice the depth and what the OL is going to do for our receivers.
That makes no sense. I just went and looked and only 5 TEs last year had 700 or more yards. Where do these guys come up with this stuff?
An ESPN report has Brady as the division MVP, of course no brainer, with Shady a distant 2nd. I’m going to predict this is the year the shit hits the fan for the Cheats, and RT is the division MVP.
…or Drake…
Phelon, email me at johndibi@yahoo.com
If you have wheels and are interested I’ll be cooking out tonight. Would love to meet you if you can otherwise I might be able to get out tomorrow.
Things that make you say WTF?!!!
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/07/11/academy-sports-manager-fired-weeks-after-intercepting-gun-thief-suspect-in-florida-store-lawyer-says.html
That is just messed up. What is happening to common sense?
“a policy that prohibits employees from placing their hands on customers while they’re in the store.”
So this business considers thieves customers? I guess he should have just said thanks for stealing and have a nice day. SMH
It really makes no sense at all. Don’t companies even evaluate the spirit of the rule when crap like this happens? They have a guy who is kind of a hero and now because of the interpretation of this rule they make themselves look like idiots and put a guy out of work? It is really hard to understand…smh
Maybe the person who drafted the policy should be fired.
