No more Ndamukong Suh. He’s in Los Angeles, supposedly next to Aaron Donald, who’s holding out. If I haven’t read at least 20 articles written by writers outside of FLA who work for major companies as ESPN, CBS, NFL.com etc that proclaim that because Suh is gone, this defense just can’t be any good. Let’s face facts, this Dolphins defense wasn’t that good with him, so to say his loss will be monumental doesn’t register for me. Enough of Suh, because we’re looking at what we DO have, not what we don’t. As has been said ad nauseam, we’re going to be rotating players on the D-line much more than we have in the past, specifically in the NS era, where he played 971 snaps a season, which is just too much, even for a top 5 DT in the NFL.
Honestly, I say this with no malice, but I think it’s very possible that an average football fan from a different team might not be able to name 1 DT on our current roster. There are no “stars”, and besides the Akeem Spence, who we picked up in a trade with the Lions for a 2019 conditional 7th RD pick, our oldest DT at the moment is 25 years old, and that’s probably our most talented one, Jordan Phillips. With the current philosophy of heavy rotation, the pressure won’t fall on one particular player, although Jordan Phillips will be expected to play at a higher level now, as he’s now “the man”. Let’s take a look at who we have . . .
Jordan Phillips DT – 6’6 341 – 25YO
The 2015 2nd RD pick (Pick#52) came to the Dolphins with a reputation as a DT who has all the physical gifts you could ask for, except the “inconsistent motor” tag. Oh, the dreaded on/off switch and the always included “if this guy ever decides he wants to play, watch out!”. He’s had 3 seasons of “cruising in my opinion, he hasn’t really shown himself to be a consistent player, still “showing flashes”, but nothing totally tangible to grab at. Maybe if he’s rotating in and out more, he’ll give better effort while he’s out there, and I’m sure the coaches are hoping for just that. It’s like a starting pitcher who is thrown into the bullpen, he can just let go for a couple of innings and throw as hard as he can, because he doesn’t have to try and go 9 innings, only 2. 58 total tackles (37 solo) and 4.5 sacks tells me he’s been playing to stay fresh for 9 innings. Time to go out there and kill it every snap young man!
________________________________________________________________
Davon Godchaux DT – 6’3 315 23YO
Godchaux was such a pleasant surprise last season. Last year’s 5th RD pick (178th) had a very promising season. This kid has a great motor, and the results are there to see. He can tackle too, and last year, Godchaux finished with 40 tackles (26 solo). That’s production. Godchaux didn’t register a sack, but I saw him around the QB just missing a few times. This kid has me hopeful, but I love the overachievers. I thought Godchaux showed some good explosion, but he also needs to be more disciplined, as I saw him offsides quite a few times. Those penalties are killer, and I’m sure the coaches are working with him. I look for a little growth from Godchaux, and maybe even a couple of sacks this season.
________________________________________________________________
Akeem Spence DT – 6’1 307 26YO
Spence is the grizzled veteran here, at the old age of 26. This just goes to show you how young this DT rotation is now. Spence is a 5 year veteran who came up with Tampa Bay Bucs for 4 seasons, and played for the Detroit Lions last season. Dolphins DL coach Kris Kocurek was in Detroit last year, and liked Spence, so the Dolphins brought him in. Spence is a capable player who’s used to being rotated in. Last season with the Lions, Spence had a nice season, 39 total tackles (19 solo) along with 3 sacks. Pretty solid for a 3rd guy in, which just goes to show you the potential effectiveness of rotating players more often. I think Spence fits in perfectly here, a guy who knows how to play the game, teach the young guys, doesn’t have a “ME” attitude, and has the ability to start if necessary. Great pickup!
_______________________________________________________________
Vincent Taylor DT – 6’3 306 24YO
The Dolphins drafted Taylor in the 6th RD last season, and I think they got exceptional value from 2 DT’s taken in the 5th and 6th RD’s. Taylor didn’t play as much as Godchaux, but this year he will be in the running for some more snaps, provided he earns them. Taylor played in 13 games, finishing with 18 total tackles (11 solo). He’s not definitely in, but I think it’s Taylor’s spot to lose at this point.
_______________________________________________________________
Gabe Wright DT – 6’3 309 26YO
Wright is a former 2015 4th RD pick by the Detroit Lions. He is definitely at the crossroads here, this being his 3rd team in 3 years in the NFL. The Lions waived him after spending a 4th RD pick on him in early September 2016. He played in 7 games his rookie season, but was unimpressive. The Browns picked him up and put him on their PS. The Browns finally activated Wright in 2016 after appearing in just 5 games, and then the Browns waived him. The Eagles signed Wright of June 2017, then cut him in September. The Dolphins signed Wright at that point and signed him to the PS, where he was finally activated the last game of the season in ’17. This kid has work to do, and he better get at it fast, or he won’t be long for the NFL, which in some cases means Not For Long. BTW, Wright was a projected 2nd or 3rd RD pick in the 2015 draft.
_______________________________________________________________
Jamiyus Pittman DT – 6’1 319 23 YO
Pittman was an UDFA pickup this season after he played right in our backyard at Central Florida. Piitman played both outside and inside at CF, but he will definitely be inside as a DT in the pros. Pittman is going to have to play his best football if he wants to crack this roster. Depending on how many DT’s we carry, last year we carried 4 last season, but keep in mind that DE William Hayes moves to DT in some packages. If we do carry 4, that means Pittman will have to leapfrog both Wright and Taylor, a tall order. If we carry 5, which is pretty likely, especially if the plan is to keep rotating players in, he has a better shot. Pittman was pretty productive at CF, finishing with 138 total tackles (66 solo) along with 13 sacks in 4 seasons.
_______________________________________________________________
Anthony Moten DT – 6’4 315 23 YO
Moten is another UDFA that played in FLA, Moten played for the Hurricanes. Moten was a part time player at Miami, not a starter, but that’s fine considering he would just be part of the rotation early on. Moten was not a combine invitee. Moten played in 27 games in 4 seasons at Miami, finishing with 38 total tackles (14 solo) along with 1.5 sacks. Moten is obviously a longshot to make the cut.
_______________________________________________________________
So that’s where we stand at DT. It’s still possible we pick up a veteran after early season cuts, but my guess is we probably carry 5 DT’s, and I think those will be Phillips, Godchaux, Spence, Taylor, and whichever DT shows the most in the preseason. Wright has the pedigree, and this could be his last chance to get his career in gear, so I give him the slight edge, with Pittman right behind him.

Our offense either got wiped out or wiped clean.
I forgot to mention that we also lost our PK and replaced him with marginally reputable rookies.
sorry to ruin the blog’s Saturday morning
But why is anyone optimistic?
Our replacement players @ QB are a guy who hasn’t played in 2 yrs and was average before that, two guys who failed to hold a starting QB job when they were given the opportunity, and a guy who’s never been good enough to get the opportunity at all.
Again, why is anyone optimistic?
Our replacement players @ TE are 2 converted QBs, a very slow WR, and 2 rookies.
Our replacement players @ RB are a 50-yr-old and 2 guys who weren’t even always the starter for their teams in college. Plus 3 UDFAs don’t nobody want.
Our replacement @ C is a guy who got cut by his previous team as soon as they signed a better Center.
Our replacement players @ WR are 2 3rd stringers, one of whom comes from the powerhouse known as Georgia State and the other one was so under-appreciated by his former team, he was bought on the cheap.
On the defense, the replacements are a little better, until you remember we lost arguably the best DT in the NFL
Naples with a tongue in cheek rant. 🙂
Admit to a pessimistic slant, but
What part is not factually true though?
Last year’s offense only went 6-10 and got worse. Ryan is back, we replaced 7 yards a catch Landry with 2 players that can actually get open past the LOS, the OL by everyone’s account is better, Gore…
Kilgore didn’t get cut.
So a valid prediction for the season is
2-14
if we can beat the Jets and Bills @ home.
But wait, they both have top 5 rated new QBs. Sooo
uh-oh
This is all just water off of a ducks back.
Since you put it that way I’m going to take the under on wind for the season, under 3.
Wins not wind. I wrote this before I saw your 2-14 guess.
I’ve got some wind for you
Seriously though, if I have to tell you why we are closer to winning a playoff game than winning the top pick in the draft you haven’t been paying attention at all this offseason.
Playoffs. … Playoffs?
I’ve been away from the blog for a while,
but why are we talking about playoffs?
We’re loaded at practically every position. DL rotation will keep guys fresh. Quinn had 8.5 sacks playing out of position last year, team that with Wake and we have a dynamic pass rush.
Safety, with Minkah we can now cover TEs, last in the league last year. We’ll unveil our version of 3 safeties that will confuse QBs.
LB was a mess last year Raekwon will be the leader run stuffer the team needs to sure up the front 7, Baker our pass D LB.
DTs will play more disciplined with me me Suh gone.
On O Ryan is back healthy, we have 3 RBs that can run, block and catch at a high level.
OL already mentioned the improvement.
TEs were awful last year, Gray looks poised to take the #1 job until Gesicki is ready. Smythe great blocker underrated pass catcher.
WR, we wont miss Jarvis one bit with the dynamic Wilson and the always open (7-11 2.0) downfield Amendola replacing him.
Depth, depth, depth all over the field.
Of course all of these things won’t come to fruition right away, but some will and having a better OL and Ryan back are enough to reach at least 8 wins, some of the other things happening gets us close to a playoff win.
Then you have the culture change, that removed the me guys. Play as a team to win as a team.
@ Steve 😁 !!!
Naples – Replacing people isn’t always a bad thing, in many cases it’s a good thing.
Naples – Jets haven’t even signed Darnold yet, he’s holding out.
The reason for optimism Naples? EVERYTHING you said above. except for the ridiculously low win prediction.
Lol, you lazy bastard😀
I’ve been outlining why every week with my articles, all that has to be done is to read them. 🙂
Mike E says I am bad man. LOL
🐪
Well, you are . . . . Maybe I am too?
You are the wolf in sheeps clothing LOL
Mike E — I always read all of your articles, even if i don’t have time to post anything.
Thanks man – So then you’re well informed at least as to why I think we can be optimistic. 🙂
So what’s the latest on the Phins? I was down the shore yesterday helping get the new house ready to be habitable next weekend.
We are still undefeated
Awesome!
Did you guys buy a new one or redo the old one?
The old one had a bad fire and was totaled in 2016. It was a total rebuild. Bigger house with more room raised with the living space 9 feet off the ground. The only thing ground level are the garages and that space kind of like a basement but ground level, not below ground – no below ground down there. It’s basically built to handle another Sandy storm. Anything we have in that ground level can’t be valuable or vulnerable to water damage.
This is a similar style but not exactly. But it gives you an idea what I’m talking about.

Awesome for you guys. Remembered it got totaled, which is why asked. Lived in a beach house on stilts when was in law school. Sounds like your place is now like that without the actual stilts. Smart way to do it.
just for the record and to get this out there before anything else happens:
my actual prediction, based on if we beat all the teams that we are better than,
is 12-4
with losses on the road to GB, NE, Houston, and Minn,
but we’ll probably stumble and lose one at home (Jags maybe)
to go 11-5.
That’s a real strong homer prediction. Mine is more like 8-8, but man would I love to say you were right.
Naples ESPN has a video on its site that talks about betting season win totals. The sharks #1 pick is taking the Fins to go over 6/6.5.
If you aren’t keen to what a shark is that’s a professional bettor.
betting is against my religion, so not up on terms like o/u or “the spread” or any of that
And the lines are set by how people will bet. A pro bettor’s job is to look at where “the people” don’t match up with reality. And as much as we have been bashed, makes sense that guy would be looking at Phins.
Did y’all see yesterday the tweet from Miami Herald writer Adam Beasley saying all the beat writers down there know that Jarvis lies? Damn.
It’s like an immature guy after breaking up with his first real gf … sheesh, man up, Jarvis.
To clarify above, I should not have used the term “prediction” as I am saying that I think we are better than all those other teams, not that we will beat everybody that we are better than.
I mean I think we are a better football team than the Bills and jests,
better than the Colts, Bears, Lions, Bengals, Raiders, and Titans,
(some of those because we have them at home).
That is 10 wins, theoretically.
And I think we have proved we can beat the pasties at home. So that is how I get to 11.
That leaves the Jags game, which might depend on injuries or who is hot or even who is still in contention, stuff like that, as it is a late season game. But it is a home game for us, although of course, their fans are not far away.
That is how I “logically” get to 12-4.
(13-3 if DeShaun, Lady, Cousins, or Aaron are hurt and miss our game) (wink)
I’m sure glad those power rankings are off…Jeesh….for a minute there they had me going!
I almost returned my Miami Dolphin 2019 SB tickets!
Rock how much is your kool-aide….i think i need some……
Tim – The prospect we got from the Asdrubal Cabrera trade is now the Mets #5 prospect, but he was the Phillies #10, RHP Frank Kilome
I didn’t know we traded him. It’s crazy how the bad Braves and Phillies are now back on top and we’re at the bottom and the Nats are middle of the pack.
Traded him last night. I think we did pretty well. I hope the Phillies win it, I really like Cabrera, although I think it made a ton of sense to trade him, especially for that kind of return. Kilome has a great fastball and slider, but he’s wild. Find a way to fix that, you have yourself another good starter.
Cool! It’s time to go young and build it the right way. Might take a few years but so be it.
Starting to sound like a serious competition for #2 CB. “Second-year player Torry McTyer began team drills as the cornerback opposite Xavien Howard. Cordrea Tankersley and Tony Lippett also have gotten first-team reps in training camp.”
I’ll take the over!
Stanger, it is built on very large pillars bigger in circumference than the average telephone poles. The walls are also designed to blow out on the ground level should it take on serious rising water levels due to a major storm surge. You have to build that way down there now or you will not get insurance. You can’t see the pillars from the front outside but you can see them inside the garage area and in the back. The house is on a lagoon and has 3 levels of hanging space – ground, 2nd living area deck, then 3rd level where the bedrooms are. The two master suites facing the back have personal terraces. The house is 5 inches shy of the maximum height of 35 feet. The view is amazing. We can clearly see the LBI bridge from the back and the front bedrooms can see the the island bayside. It’s pretty awesome.
Sounds nice!
It is really nice.
My B-I-L also had a kickass sound system put it with wifi control to the interior and outside two levels. The speakers are crazy and we’re going to have to be real careful with the volume or the entire lagoon will be listening to what we’re listening to. Maybe we should ask them what would you like to hear? LOL
Great hang out place. Guessing you didn’t like the higher construction costs on raising it up like that but sure will have a whole let to worry about when the next big storm is coming.
Insurance covered a lot of it being that it was my wife’s parents’ place since 1982 and my late F-I-L dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s when it came to that. There were some out of pocket costs to make it up to date and to have the best chance against another major storm. But like I said, if you rebuild down there you have to do it that way or you won’t get insurance. Everyone is building up. It’s still going on. Insurance companies had to pay out a lot of money due to Sandy. The original house got damaged during Sandy, but were able to repair it. The rebuild was due to the fire but still had to abide by the new Sandy regulations. 6 feet is the minimum raise level, we went 9 feet.
Damn Naples, you had me going…thought we were going to have to 5150 you to keep you from hurting yourself.

I know nothing about sports betting. Are these professionals who put out this stuff usually right?
They were last year, i think they had the over and under last year at 7 wins for Miami…I was ready to take that bet.
No but they take advantage of bad public betting. Usually they make a bet and jump to the other side after the line moves.
2018 fans roar play after play after play all season long…
GOFINS!!!
One thing we do know and I think it’s pretty set in stone is that 5 of our WRs this year will be – Stills, Parker, Amendola, Wilson and Grant.
what about owusu??
My piece has Owusu (only stature clone to DP)
in the top 65 as a possibility for the 53rd spot…
Along with everybody else between 54-65…
Kinda thinking that 53rd spot needs to go to a 4TE,
Escobar or Derby…
But I got a guy or two from practically every position
between 54-65 looking to grab that 53rd spot…
GOFINS!!!
I don’t think he’s a lock. He’s never made an NFL team.

It’s really hard for a TE to do much his first year, the position is very demanding.
Homeraid is free Rob. Drink up.
No wonder everyone is drunk on it.
If Rock’s Homeraid can’t you drunk then you have a real high tolerance. Stuff could strip paint.
I agree with the WRs Tim
Unless Carroo balls out which is unlikely. Is he PS eligible? I think so??
Ford will make the PS and the rest can fight out for their spot on it.
LMAO @ KV’s 1:35 pm post
“””SHIT HAPPENS”””
So Tim I expect the new house will have a big media room for a Northeast mob fest 😎
LOL, not a media room, it’s everywhere except upstairs where the bedrooms are. I’m not looking forward to the time when my wife is listening to something and my B-I-L shows up and changes it on her. LOL
I bet you can play different things in different rooms. Our Sonos can…so when we are closed while my wife is on one side of place and i’m working in the other, I don’t have to listen to her crap. LOL
Yes there are two zones, inside or outside. That doesn’t mean he won’t change it and her’s will go off causing a ruckus. LOL
Lol
Oh I know full well…
LOL
Like many of us feel, if this team can’t make explosive plays on offense, have a solid running game, harass opposing offenses with our defense and be solid on STs, then we give up. Right?
A bad 2018 season means Ross has a big decision to make. A solid to good season and he we stick with the program. That’s how I feel about it.
If this team is bad this season, I will question all things I know about football. LOL
I seriously don’t get what the national media is saying about us. It could be extra fun for us fans though. 🙂
If they stink it prob gets all blown up…again
quick pop in… i will be running a Mob Fantasy Football League again this year if there is enuff interest.. i sent email to all from 2 years ago .. but if anyone else interested email me at DRP667@hotmail.com and i can hook ya up.. no pay in , just fun and bragging rights.. Stanger knocked off Mike E in the Championship game last year ..
FINS-13-3 this year ..
I don’t think we are a 6 win team. I’d guess more around 8. That’s my concern though….continued mediocrity because we’re just good enough to encourage them to keep doing the same old shit.
What more would you like them to change, that they didn’t this year? Besides the obvious Ryan.
I think we are a 6 win team……on our way to 10 or 11😀
^
I saw a video of Amendola practicing one-handed catches that officially makes him a selfish diva right?
Lol
He showed it last year. He ups the competition. Go take it!
Of course he did, he’s from UNLV 😁
Wow he runs 4.3
I think there are enough question marks about this team that my expectations are guarded. I’d like to see some improvement over last year for sure and even over 2016. Lots of change so I’m going to assume there will be some adjustments to be made. Just play well and be competitive each week.
That’s all we can ask.
We do have some young talent on this team. If most of them can continue their development and get better, it will go a long way to becoming a serious playoff team in 2–3 years. We have 3-4 guys on both sides of the ball who need to become the solid veteran core of this team….and a couple becoming really good would be nice. Lol
I really think Minkah is one of those players who changes everything. If he went well before us which I thought would happen, I was saying the team that gets him gets a game changer. We landed him. So why should that opinion change now?
That’s being so overlooked. MF is a player who makes a difference. Again… if he doesn’t pan out for us we’re snake bitten.
Go Phins!!!
FerSure !!!
Look at the drafts we’ve had:
2015
Parker
Phillip’s
McCain
Ajayi-Ballage
Lippett
2016
Tunsil
Howard
Drake
Grant
2017
Harris
McMillan
Tank
Godchaux
Vincent
2018
Minkah
Gesicki
Baker
Smythe
Ballage
Sanders
I cant complain about any of these drafts, and why we now have depth.
I cant remember a 4 year period where we drafted better. MTP needs to get more respect.
NICCEEE !!!
ALRIGHT, I give…
What’s MTP
OHH, is that Mr Trady Pants/TBaum,
or something like that??
I give a big fat THUMBS UP!!!
Dunno why he’s disliked just cuz of what happened with the nyets, we should love him for that and our own last 3 drafts!!!
They gave him a two year window in NY,
He brought in a bunch of older proven vets/short contracts/big bucks in a last ditch attempt to fulfill that two year window…
And they went to AFChampionship those two years,
Then it fell apart, he did his job there, got them the talent they needed for the two year window..
The team just couldn’t close the deal….
TBaum hasn’t done any sort thing in Miami!!!
First regime since Shula was a three headed monster,
That Miami’s Owner, TBaum title, GM, and HC
are actually working for & with one another
with only the franchises best interest in mind!!!
GOFINS!!!
“””TBaum hasn’t done any sort of (((negative))) thing in Miami”””
Mikey Trady Pants
Lol @ snake bitten….or should it be crying….
Tbaum’s big fail was the Suh signing. I think he learned from it…
People are also now questioning Branch’s and McDonalds contracts.
Of course there is also the failure to address the OL properly…
Oh and keeping RT17!! LOL
And don’t speak of LCIII
No one gets them all right. The value was there it just hasn’t worked yet. Carroo was targeted several times yesterday and he made some plays, seems like he needs to make something happen this camp or his time is up.
Mannn, gotta love Ballage,
Comes off as a Seasoned Pro,
We’re set at RB for many years (post Gore #21)
And I believe that 32 Tenacious-D, & 33 KB “”Picks Of Destiny”””
will become a feared tandem for those many years!!!
33 KB (Seasoned-Pro-Rookie)
GOFINS!!!
Tenacious-D Jack Black & Kyle Gass (So talented are both)!!!
I hear pick of destiny 2 is in the works.
Cool ER !!!
The movie??
First one was hilarious, gotta be a stoner though 😍,
If not a really good/open-minded sense of humor!!!
I just want to see them play good football. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it on any consistent basis…game to game, and even within a 60 minute/4 quarter game. IF we can just eliminate the stupid stuff, we can be better/play better.
And, let’s not have major injury setbacks. This is one area of consistency, I hope goes away for a season or more.
I think I say this every year.
I don’t care about playing a complete 60 minute game. I want to see them get to the point where they can win even when things don’t go there way, but not every week like 2016.
It seems there is more overall talent/depth this year (in spite of losing Suh, Pouncey, and Landry powering us to 6 wins last year), but we shall see if this translates to better/consistent play on the field. I sure hope so.
Sorry, nothing else to do….but rant as the sun comes up.
There seems to be more “talented” depth every where too. I think, we’re not one OL injury away from re-shuffling everyone’s job, one TE away (I can’t believe I can even say this) from not having one (although when was the last time we had a legit one), one CBs, RBs, LBs, DL, or Safety from having to have players play out of position or have a huge drop-off in talent.
Depth helps immensely in the “consistency” department.
Maybe, the newspaper’s here and I can stop talking to myself about my beloved Dolphins.
After last year’s adversity, I’m hoping the laws of karma or the 3rd law of thermodynamics, (I think it’s third) will be readily apparent this year.
No paper yet.
For every action, there is an equal, but opposite reacton….Newton’s 3rd law of motion. Sorry.
Or universal law, perhaps. …. depending on your universe. ☺
DT is one area of the team that I’m not comfortable with , Yet. Suh was a beast and I’m not real sure what We have now in comparison but on the surface appears as a downgrade.
It’s not a coincidence that he didn’t help the team run game stats. He really never played team ball, sure he made great plays, but that’s the point his stats instead of doing his job (staying in his position). Aaron Donald is the same type of player, the Rams run D was poor last year.
True that. But He also was a large intimidating force in the middle that needs to be replaced.
I hope Gase finds the right Man!
We were mediocre at best without Suh. I don’t think he will be missed that much
I know what Trypod means. The progressives, liberals, greens, independents, and people anti nazis don’t really need to defend their positions against baseless attacks, and don’t feel welcome in a room that has a FEW, not all loudmouth right wingers that don’t respect others.
Asking for respect is nice, should only be done If one is prepared to serve up generous helpings of respect in return..
Keeping it real without going out of Your way to offend others is wiser than displayed alternatives IMO.
Stop with your liberal BS, you do the same shit every time you post here.
This proves my pint, lol. Anything that isn’t right wing to the max gets immediately disrespected. This is what Trypo meant,
Try to respect others if You want respect, seems fair enough 😎
loudmouth right wingers that don’t respect others.
———
Keeping it real without going out of Your way to offend others is wiser
_____________________________________________
LMAO????
Respectful debate, requires respect and debate, right?
We don’t want a political debate here, that’s the point.
i agree david however calling a few “loudmouth right wingers” and then saying it’s wiser not to offend is contradictory wouldn’t you agree???
I agree Steve, its not possible.
But what should be possible if anyone that isnt fully right wing politics should still feel like debating the Dolphins IMO.
This is a potential exciting season coming up, and I would hope all Dolphin fans should be able to support the Fins without being disrespected because they have different views on other subjects.
Anyways, this is what I felt Trypod was saying, and I respectfully extrapolated.
Respect and the Fins are both undervalued IMO
This team should be in the playoffs, which will surprise many 😎
I feel We have a 10 win team, and playoff appearance. Gase has HIS team now, and the pieces are awesome, even more so if Gase can make the pieces fit.
Gase is a great coach, but great coaches need great talent. Not man can claim Fins don’t have talented players, but questions of team unity and success will have to be answered during the season.
I feel good about this Year, much better than I did with Cutler as QB
^
Crazy… and just like that, Mike Gesicki is a top-10 trending topic on Twitter, NATIONWIDE.
This is hardly a surprise
On my way to Maya Riviera Hard Rock for 1 week. Looking forward to letting go of some stress especially before the football season starts. It gets very stressful after that.
Enjoy yourself man, you deserve that.
Have a good time Ken. Always double down on 11, even if the dealer had a 10.
One might think this odd or even wasteful, considering we already have three starters at safety that all need to split reps, unless you read the quote from Adam gase in an article yesterday where he said he would be rewarding second and third string players by playing them in the first string if they do well

I noticed that, too. Nice, so far.
Mike, it’s tough to describe disrespectful people, without sounding disrespectful, lol
I’m not disrespecting anyone here, but I can explain what people that are not right wings r extroverts if that’s a better term to use.
They are right wing, and very dogmatic in their beliefs, to the point of suffocating others views.
I suppose I thought I understood what Trypod meant, cause I feel the same way.
But BTW What do You think Trypod meant?
Pot meet kettle
I was hoping to discuss the Dolphins, I never personally called You out.
Can You please stop calling Me out with personal attacks? Thanks, I wanted to discuss Dolphins today 😎
I wonder how formations with 2 TE’S as described would work?

I guess the real question for Me is,
Can grown Men and Women with different backgrounds and beliefs, all have a common love for the Dolphins?
I think so!,
Now you’re getting it, leave it there. Don’t talk politics or religion.
Thankfully We can agree on this core issue! BTW I wouldn’t have a problem drinking a cold one with You at a game, We are just Fin fans damn it, lol and I give You love for that! Go Dolphins, I want another SB win for all of Us!

Whats the score??
You see it in practice first, don’t you? Or, does it just show up game time?
And My next question for this room, is,
What about our OL this year? I’m happy Pounce is gone, but only heard good reports of Kilgore, not seen Him.
Anyone care to chime in on Kilgore and the OL with their opinions would be greatly appreciated here! I’m wondering if this is the Cinderella year for this team.
Kilgore isn’t great, he’ll never be at Pouncey’s highest level, but Pouncey is past his prime and may show some flashes, although counting on him is a huge risk.
Kilgore is solid and a much better option, unless you really want to gamble again on the OL.
Thanks for that.
I feel like I never got over the fact Pounce had the best drugs for the players. That Sounds like a great dude to have for civilians partying, lol but a NFL team cancer
AND, the flip side….. someone who can cover those TEs. We may have 2 of those, too!!?
nice catch!
Yea ,”””nice catch”” was thinking he didn’t get the right foot down, but then realized that left knee touch in bounds for the TD, heart catch!!!
GOFINS!!!
GREAT catch
great play, in the pic you can see the rec looking back at the qb before he throws it…this allows him to adjust to the pass and put himself in the position to make the play.
Circus show on ESPN predicting the AFC EAST, each game. They do the Fins last, and up to that point they had us losing all 6 division games, then predict our games and come up with 11-5.
Lol, I’m wondering if ESPN requires random drug tests, one may be needed today!
Osweiler has been underwhelming so far with his errant passes, SMH
I was hoping He will be a quality backup QB for us, and I still hope so !
Obviously He needs to get his shit together or find another address.
Fales, like Kilgore over Pouncey, is more consistant and the better option. These Cutler/Osweiler types are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get, from play to play. Just say NO. You can work with a less talented Fales, but not Osweiler.
I assume by posting what’s the score you are implying that it’s practice and doesn’t matter so why am I bothering posting it
so sorry Rob carry on with your vomiting the same crap again and again in the game about the running game and dreaded 2nd and long that ruins whole seasons….
I’m sorry my post bother you..from now on i’ll just ignore you
Hi Ken, How’s it going bro? Not a fan a Suh over there? But who will fill his shoes in Your opinion?
I hate working Saturday’s, but need to get to it, grrr, lol thanks for the feedback.
Everyone have a great day! I’m out!
I don’t see any Cinderellas, but thinking the OL is our weakest link as it has been for years. Thinking it’s a better weakest link this year.
I don’t see it as a weak link, and they don’t have to be great, just play consistant, cut down on the penalties, and play as a unit. We’ve been ok in the recent past with worse OLs.
Year after year we fall into the trap of depending on questionable guys and say they’ll be alright, yet they seldom are. Cutler we didn’t have much of a choice, but we treated it the same. Kilgore over Pouncey, Fales over Osweiler, anyone over J. Thomas/Jordan Cameron. This year just seems different.
cutler wasnt bad
He was erratic at best, he played well for about 2.5 qtrs against the cheats in our win, then the next week was awful, when we just needed some consistancy. That was a microcosm of his season.
It was a microcosm of Cutler’s career.
Summer Its that time of the year the Tannehaters start up in force.
SMH

Britt Mchater says that there are women that can play QB better than Ryan, Lmao, what a ditzy statement!
Hmmm… I think this blog is very diverse politically. If it was all one way there would never be any debate about anything and that’s not the case here. LOL
Lol good point, what’s shaking bro, How Ya been?
Doing okay, David. I wish I could say everything is fantastic but that is never the case. 😉
I heard that, More than My fair share of adversity going on lately.
But also success, I bought Avalon Holdings 3 days ago and over 500 percent gains in the Monday Sell Bin .
The last 4 days of the week I predicted the nations top gainer, I didn’t have any work Friday, so this gave Me a chance to get some bills paid even when no work on the day.
There isn’nt any reason for Serena Williams to try out for Dolphins starting QB, the Former WR won’t be beaten out by a woman tennis player!
Don’t take it literal.
I didn’t, was just a crazy statement huh 😎
I normally come here just for Mets news. Didn’t deGrom go last night? Anyone know how he did? 🙂
And once again no support. He couldn’t win a 6-5 game with this team even if God was his best fan. LOL
Well this this he gave up three and final was 5-0. Sometimes you just play a better team. 🙂
I figure out when the big time investors get burnt on stocks, they are pissed! And looking to get it back.
How do they do That?
They buy 52 week lows, stocks that are sitting flat on the bottom roping out.
The transaction volume gets ridiculous, and I’ve seen stocks blow up hundreds of percent a day because huge chunk investors are pile driving the hell out of em.
Not everyone of the 52 week lows Lambo to the moon, I watch for increases in volume and volatility and jump in!
Why is anyone ragging on Tannehill? The friggin guy hasn’t done anything one way or the other in over a year. Give him a chance to prove himself other than speculating on what he will or won’t be. Sheesh!!!
Why should anyone not hope for him to do well? On this board at least.
No idea. Tannehill gets treated like he’s never played well ever and that’s absurd.
David – I asked Wil what he meant privately. I honestly didn’t need an explanation from you. I really don’t think we talk politics often here, most people understand it’s a sensitive topic and refrain. While no blog can be perfect when so many individual personalities are present, I think we do a damn good job of allowing people to speak their mind, and do keep it civil. I found it irritating to see you come here preaching. I feel both Wil and I have enough respect for each other and are aware of our political differences, yet can converse peacefully, without getting into a disrespectful argument. Carry on!
Who is Wil?
TryPod
Oh
David — it is good to see you back, but does seem you went anti-political rants with a political rant. And even as one of the board’s conservatives, don’t see much of it. Even if am guilty of having been pulled in at times, but if I have never been anything other than respectful about it please let me know when.
Truthfully don’t know what the political bent of 80% of the posters is in this place. And that is exactly the way it should be.
Thanks for the support Stanger, I just had some questions on our OL, DL, and QB I wanted to get respectful feedback on, and thanked everyone for it. what did I say that was political? People with different beliefs may not feel welcome if they are judged by beliefs instead of Fin football? I did do that.
That all the politics I discussed, did You miss the football discussion part? That was what I wanted, but the previous issue cockblocked the latter , which only further proves the point that some viewpoints aren’t welcome, even when they weren’t even discussed, and football was the intended discussion.
David saw your football talk and that is what we mainly do here. It’s just boggles my mind that there is some kind of political persuasion issue on the board. See so few political discussions. If anything think this a safe zone from that. Clearly you thought differently, but we each have our own takes to do on whatever. Is your take cause of some random comments? Open discussion board like it has always been.
Just wanted to talk football Stanger, i.e. I said, I missed the offseason and playing catchup.
I had one comment on Trypod that I think I felt the same on, and thought that would be it? Lol Look, sorry for that, hope We can move on , cause if I unintentionally stepped on a mystery toe I’m sorry for that.
You totally misunderstood and judged My intent. It sucks You twisted to something else, and FEELS like anyone He that has the unforgivable sin to disagree or agree on unrelated matters is somehow wrong, lol and SMH
I feel ostracized over what was just a basic observation and innocent discussion of valid points.
Obviously this doesn’t make other viewpoints , like mine and other progressives, independents , liberals, or greens, feel welcome here, even if the viewpoints are left out.
I didn’t preach to anyone, yet You just did to Me. And You also called me hypocrite?
I revealed why I talked of it, more was made than what it was IMO. It’s amazing anyone can blog here unless they suck up to the demands of others. Whatever happened to creative thoughts, and discussing football?
This is typical of what I felt Trypod meant, whether He meant it or not ? is his prerogative and feeling that I extrapolated on feeling the same thing. No sense of whining over average non confrontational reasonable discussion that didn’t offend anyone. Notice I was personally attacke and Didn’t get upset. No need to get upset over reasonable discussion.
I do this even if it’s not done to Me.. personally attacking others isn’t done by Me, it’s done to Me.
Tannehill will get his usual 12ish INTs and 25ish TDs. We need to get our running game going and get some scoring…and clock management…out of that phase. That’s what made us more productive in 2016 and what we completely lacked in 2017. The passing game had basically the same production. I’m much more concerned about the running game than I am the passing attack.
Probably on Tannehill and that’s fine. I think we will run the ball well this year. My biggest concern is will the defense make impact plays? That’s what we need to take the next step.
Throw last year out. It was a broken season from the get go.
After we score, instead of letting a team go right down the field and match it, we get a big sack and/or turnover and score again. We never do that.
This team needs to play better complementary football.
As far as this blog goes politically, I think everyone here are traditional pro America types who have differences about some social issues. I don’t see far right or left here at all. I know what that looks like and I don’t see that here.
^^^^
There are obviously differences of backgrounds and opinions, but I just want to talk about the Dolphins if possible, I don’t even know all of our new players and was wondering what the teams going to accomplish this year. I would like to enjoy the platform to talk Dolphins football, and get caught up from a missed offseason 😎
I am not coming here to disrespect anyone or piss em off with political views.
Tim,
We need to play better football, period. Neither side of the ball has been all that good.
True! My point was about when we do something good, we follow it up with something bad. Like say we score a TD and the defense does get it right back, we then follow it up with a 3 and out or a turnover. We don’t add to the good.
This team needs to feed off each other and create good momentum more often. Way too inconsistent but as I’ve said many times, I throw last year out because it was a really fucked up season for a lot of reasons.
For some reason I think this year’s team will be more grounded but we shall see.
Randy, see my 6:49 am rant +.
I like when people say they don’t like to talk about politics then spend a good deal of time talking politics.
You like that? 😉
He was being sarcastic.
Agreed, SMH
Lol, shaking your head at yourself. He was talking about you.
Krishna, good to see back here.
Hope this works. Gase’s thoughts on Tannehill: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9nO5p17LypQ.
Thanks, Tim.
ER, if you are out there, are you going to be at the restaurant onTuesday?
I can’t believe we picked up Gore, I hope he still has some gas in his tank, He’s about as old a RB as there is. But if He does,,,,,,
I remember way back when He played for the Canes, tough north south
I’m actually amazed at the quantity and quality of the player changes this offseason. I feel this season can be special if Gase can get em all on the same page!
Gase has said I see the same guy in Gore as when I was an assistant in SF many moons ago. We’re not asking Gore to rush 20-25 times. I think he brings a leadership and how to be a pro to both Drake and Ballage who are more physically gifted than he ever was. I think that’s part of the plan. These guys were not going to learn anything from Damien Williams, he was in the same boat – battling to keep making the team. Gore is one of the most productive RBs in the history of the NFL. I absolutely think he brings value to this team.
Not exact breakdowns because every game is different, but I see something like this:
Drake 15-18 rush/ 3-5 rec
Gore 8-12 rush/ 1-2 rec
Ballage 3-5 rush/ 1-2 rec
Maybe if Drake went down Gore takes his role and Ballage plays Gore’s role. I like this RB group a lot. Lots of talent.
One of the reasons I still hang out here is because I feel politics are rarely shoved down my throat. This is one of the few places I actually see people with different political viewpoints living in relative peace.
I’d say there are more ‘conservative’ types on the board than ‘liberal’ types (I hate even using those labels, but for simplicity’s sake…). I don’t feel a ‘conservative’ agenda is always forced on me, but I do feel sometimes we get a little too much of the extreme conspiracy crap, which is annoying. With that being said, I personally don’t feel anything is pushed too far, and the people on this board are usually savvy enough to pull back or take it down a notch before it gets out of hand.
I’d say the fact the worst fights on this board have rarely had to do with politics proves this place has a decent blueprint, and our community is made up of actual adults capable of having differing points of view.
Nice post Cav
Cheers 🙂
Very Good post Cav, You and I agree on this, but obviously You worded the thoughts better than I did!
But I also feel like this issue if it was one, is resolved or negligible, and it’s full speed ahead on friendly discussion!
It’s been awhile, David. Welcome back!
And Cutler’s QBR last year was 80.8, lower than any year of Tannehill’s career.
So yeah, according to your belief that QBR is a very important, not-a-team stat, Cutler sucked last year, Rob. 😛
strike ‘QBR’, replace with ‘passer rating’.
lol I hate ESPN for creating QBR.
ESPN is so full of themselves, they’re like Skynet…lol
lol, nice tie-in.
2nd correction
Tanny had a 76.1 his rookie year, so other than that.
