Preseason Game 1 – Atlanta Falcons @ Miami Dolphins

Game action is here, but don’t get too excited. The players are probably pumped up, but preseason games don’t often show a lot about a team. Teams use the most basic and streamlined playbook. What these games are about is how your starters match up against the other team’s starters, how your two’s match up against the other teams two’s, and so on and so on.

Despite the fact that we won’t see any anything exotic from either team and from either side of the ball, we may get an idea how the team looks in the various formations, such as 3-4 rather 4-3 alignment. You know we’re going to see nickel and dime formations but there may be some wrinkles as to who is in them.

The starters in this game won’t all necessarily be the starters in the regular season Game 1. There’s definitely some experimentation and psychological warfare going on here. Flores is trying to motivate certain players to ascend while also giving some people an opportunity to flourish. It’s a common theme in the preseason, all teams do it.

What I’m looking for is for guys to execute their jobs well. On the offensive side, that means the O-line holds their blocks and win their individual battles. Same goes for the D-line, beat the guy in front of you.Due to the fact that the playbook (for both teams) will be basic, I want to see the RB’s be patient and find the hole, not try to bounce everything to the outside too quickly. I want to see the QB’s throwing to multiple receivers, WR’s, TE’s, and RB’s as well, but not an overload of check downs.

Atlanta has a lot talent on the offensive side of the ball. Matt Ryan will play sparingly, and because they recently placed 3rd string QB Kurt Benkert on IR, Matt Schaub and now 3rd stringer Matt Sims will get the majority of snaps. tevin Coleman is gone, but Devonta Freeman is still there and Coleman is replaced by Ito Smith. Julio Jones is still there but he will get limited snaps. The Falcons O-line is formidable and should be a good litmus test for our front 7. On defense the Falcons are less dangerous, allowing 423 points last season.

For the Dolphins, it will be very interesting to see how LG Michael Deiter fares, and also how RT Jordan Mills is coming back from injury. Besides LT Laremy Tunsil, everyone on the O-line is a question mark. RB’s 1A and 1B Drake and Ballage should both be motivated to show they deserve more carries, so that should be fun to watch. Parker, Stills and Wilson round out the WR’s with Gesicki starting at TE On defense, Harris and Carradine are the ends and rookie Christian Wilkins and Davon Godchaux are inside at DT. Baker at WLB and RaeMac in the middle and Alonso at SLB. As of now it shows Jones and BobbyMac at S, but Jones is in a walking boot so it may be TJ. Eric Rowe will be the CB opposite X. Keep an eye on Rowe because he should see a lot of action.

Let’s hope we see some good play, and no injuries and we’ll call the night a success!

GO DOLPHINS!!

Piggy i think Ross’ support for Trump is his right, and i think the way Stills feels about it is his opinion and he has a right to it. I do think though saying that one cant be a contributor or fund raiser for Trump and a philanthropist is kinda bullshit and its insulting. So he supports trump, he also does good things with his money and time by starting a no profit to improve society. If Stills wanted to voice his opinion directly to Ross i think that would have been fine but taking to a thing like twitter is shaming Ross and calling him out as a hypocrite and thats just not fair not decent IMO.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I think their opinions are their right too

But I wouldn’t want to work for some one I had hat kind of issue with

Damn, hate to ruin a new blog but, DAMN!

The left wants to blame Trump for the violence and division and the left has no part in it some say. This is just another example from the far left and leftist Hollywood.

Hollywood blockbuster that satirizes killing of ‘deplorables’ causes outrage: ‘Demented and evil’

A controversial movie about privileged vacationers hunting “deplorables” for sport is ruffling feathers more than a month before its scheduled release and after tragic mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio.
“The Hunt” is billed as a satire that follows wealthy thrill-seekers taking a private jet to a five-star resort where they embark on a “deeply rewarding” expedition that involves hunting down and killing designated humans. The Hollywood Reporter reported on Tuesday that “Universal is re-evaluating its strategy for the certain-to-be-controversial satire” following the shootings after ESPN reportedly pulled a trailer for the film that had been previously cleared to air on the sports network.
“The violent, R-rated film from producer Jason Blum’s Blumhouse follows a dozen MAGA types who wake up in a clearing and realize they are being stalked for sport by elite liberals,” THR’s Kim Masters wrote. “It features guns blazing along with other ultra-violent killings as the elites pick off their prey.”
According to the Hollywood trade publication, characters in the film refer to the victims as “deplorables,” which is what Hillary Clinton famously dubbed Trump supporters during the 2016 election. The report noted that a character asks, “Did anyone see what our ratf–ker-in-chief just did?”
“At least The Hunt’s coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables,” a character responds, according to THR.
“Out of sensitivity to the attention on the country’s recent shooting tragedies, Universal Pictures and the filmmakers of ‘The Hunt’ have temporarily paused its marketing campaign and are reviewing materials as we move forward,” a Universal Pictures spokesperson told Fox News late Wednesday.
“The Hunt” stars Betty Gilpin and Hillary Swank, who play characters who represent “opposite sides of the political divide,” according to Masters, who added that it was originally titled, “Red State vs. Blue State.”
Political satirist Tim Young makes a living by poking fun at topical issues but thinks “The Hunt” goes over the line.
“Why would anyone think it’s a great idea to have a movie about hunting down someone who doesn’t agree with them politically? It’s remarkable to me that the left blames Donald Trump’s rhetoric for violence, then literally spends millions to normalize the killing of people based on politics,”
“We’re told over and over again by the left, especially in Hollywood, that this country is more divided than ever and we need to come together… is this what they mean by it? Come together to murder your neighbors that you don’t agree with? This film is sick and shows just how hateful the left has become,” Young added.
    ————————————————–
    Yeah, it’s all Trump!

“filmmakers of ‘The Hunt’ have temporarily paused its marketing campaign” – Are you fucking kidding me. Trash the damn flick!

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Yes, the left has stopped that low.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Sounds ridiculous right, but that’s what the left does every time there’s a mass shooting. We need gun control. They don’t give a fuck about anything, but furthering their agenda.

But fans need to be clear Nkemdiche underachieved in a big way.

Over his first 3 seasons, Nkemdiche has only played in 27 out of 48 games. And out of those 27 games, he has only started 6.

On the good side of the 10 games he played and 6 he started in 2018, he was very, very effective. Despite limited action, Nkemdiche managed 32 tackles with 22 solos, 4.5 sacks, 9 Tackles for a loss, 7 Qb hits, and a forced fumble. Impressive!

That is a 16 game season from Suh!

It’s been a while since Ole Miss

But didn’t Nkemdiche have a rep as a very talented guy who doesn’t work so hard?
I remember some skepticism about him in the draft

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

He had some red flag, just dont remember what it was.

Maybe Flores can’t TNT the hell out of him for the next year and see how he responds. He’s got the talent, maybe he’ll figure how to get motivated.

    • D's avatar D says:

NKemdiche is the epitome of too much talent. Those guys are so damn talented they can half ass and still be most players giving it their all, but eventually that shit catches up to a person and it did for him like it does for so many. If we can get a player thats past that phase in their life, looking to re-establish themselves , we got a friggin steal. He was the AP #1 overall high school player out of all position his senior year in HS. He also was a beast at Ole miss, but thats also where his lack of effort on plays away from him started showing. Like i said when i first posted about us getting him, great player if he can get out of his own way.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Least sounds like a good one to kick the tires on. And we can kick a whole lot more tires this year.

    • D's avatar D says:

He also had that time where he was partying with a bunch of other Ole Miss players and he tried climbing out of a windows and fell a couple of stories. When they checked the room they were all partying in, they found weed, which initially they pinned on him, though i dont think they ever really busted any of them for it.

Ive said it all along, i expect him to be our starter before the year ends, but Fitz will start and play a few games at least. He’s about where i expected him to be right now as far as the 1 or 2 guy. If he hasnt takent the starting before the season ends i dunno he likely misses a real shot at being our starter and i think they might would draft a guy. I think he will be starting though.
