So the schedule is out, and as per usghe, speculation and wild predictions ensue. I’ll be perfectly honest, I have no idea what in the heck to expect from this season, and not just from a Dolphins perspective. Rookies are learning from video chats rather than person to person instruction. As far as that’s concerned, I believe these kids should be fine in that regard, this is how they live their lives, this will not be shocking or difficult for them, they will learn just fine this way. The difficult part will be not physically practicing, because camps won’t open until it’s deemed safe enough for ALL of the 32 teams to be able to open, which is completely fair. This is a league built on parity after all.
This year one of the schedule highlights is playing against the NFC West. That is a rough division, headlined by the SB runner-ups, the SF 49ers. Every team in that division brings a different but similar challenge. The 49ers and Rams are built very much alike, strong defense, and run the ball effectively, don’t ask to much from your QB. The Seahawks have Russell Wilson and despite what plan they have, they always seem to lean on Wilson too much, even with their multi-headed RB attack, which by the way is again similar to the 49ers. The Arizona Cardinals bring a unique challenge with QB Kyler Murray, who is a true dual threat QB. The Cardinals acquired All Pro WR DeAndre Hopkins from the Texans and in the draft, snagged LB Isaiah Simmons, two players who should have a huge impact on their team.
Of course we play our division twice each, and while the Patriots look ready to fall off, you can never count out Bill Belichick, even without Tom Brady. Who knows, maybe Stidham is ready to run that offense more effectively than the nearly 43 YO Brady. The Jets and Bills are both improving and will be looked at to challenge for the AFC East crown. Will we be there with them or they will they be chasing us, or will we once again fail to even hit the .500 mark? I love what we accomplished in free agency with Van Noy, Ogbah, Lawson, Roberts, and our entire draft haul, which was quite good, that’s a whole lot of new pieces moving together. We did what we had to do to fill spots but unfortunately COVID-19 is going to hamper us because we do have so many new people, far more than any other team in our division and likely the entire NFL. We just Chip Foose’d our roster, Overhauled it! With a minimal amount of practice that our players will probably have, that’s unfortunately a huge disadvantage compared to a team that possibly added 3-4 new starters. We could have potentially 10 new starters (Jackson, Flowers, Karras, Hunt, Howard, Lawson, Van Noy, Ogbah, Jones, Igbinoghene, Ferguson), plus add in a big mix of rotation guys that are new as well. If you compare that to a team that has the same moving parts except for a very small few, you have to give them a leg up at least early on in the season due to familiarity.
All I know is, whatever form and whatever length, whether it’s a shortened 14 game season or a full 16 game season, I have never looked forward to watching this team as much as I do this season. I think there might be some growing pains, but I expect a steady improvement as the season moves on. It’s going to be exciting folks, whether Tua starts or not. You all know I don’t think we should rush Tua in, but whatever they decide I’m in 100%. I’m just being cautious, and we have a good situation with Fitzpatrick to be cautious. On the other hand, if there’s not one medical reason to keep Tua off the field and he shows he’s better than Fitz for our team from the get-go, than I’m down! No matter what, there’s a whole lotta guys I’m aching to see in action this season!
GO DOLPHINS!!
#staythecourse

It will take a long time to recover from this. Longer than the year 2020
We won’t have a vaccine until 2021
While we are talking about this!
Is testing a problem for anyone?
They have been having drive up testing in Texas for weeks now. And according to the news they never have enough people show up to do the max number they are capable of!
the national guard was in our county last week. long enough to do everyone that wanted one!
I hear that testing is a problem, but don’t see it around here?
Hmmmm….I’m in Texas. What county do they have that? It’s not Travis, that’s for sure.
I live in Orange.
Houston has like 4 or 5 sites everyday.
National guard was all over SE Texas last week
East Texas….that actually makes sense since Louisiana was considered one of the hot spots.
Houston, not in Orange County, is huge. I wonder how they got testing so early.
I’m a big believer in testing ALL at risk people (elderly, elderly living in housing, those with compromised medical histories, those at most risk, 100% if you can). Then, isolate and trace back to those in contact with the high risk group. Then, test and trace back those. That’s where I think I would start.
No Houston’s in Harris county about an hour and a half away!
Getting a vaccine is key. They are taking blood from survivor’s. Microsoft is uploading quadtrillions of codes into a supercomputer to come up with a vaccine.
It is key in 2021, not for the next wave, if there is a next wave. By that time, herd immunity will probably be sufficient. Vaccines for flu viruses typically lag and are after the fact “solutions”, and mostly not solutions.
And where do the tv people get the money? From sponsors. With the worst unemployment ever how many will be buying there products.
Krishna – I’m not a politician, and have no aspirations to be one. If I were talking about a HC or a player, I would use comparisons to help my side of the discussion. I did that with Trump. As I’ve said before, I know you’re a good person, and I respect you as a good person. I don’t define you by your political leaning and I hope you do the same for me. I know we’re much more than just that. I won’t shed a single tear if Trump is ousted in this next election and if a Democrat is in, my life probably won’t change more than 5% in any way than it is now.
You sure “comrade”? 😉
Yep, sure!
I’m not a politician either and I know you as a person of integrity and honor. I believe that goes both ways. And, it will always be that way even if I disagree with you. Unless, you prove somewhere down the road, otherwise.
Honestly, I do hate the man. But, does that mean I hate him because of his politics? I hate him for the man that he is, mostly, and did BEFORE he was president and was at the time, a Democrat.
^ ….and was BEFORE v did
Sonny – Roy of Siegfried and Roy passed away. Does that count as 3?
If there’s one thing I know about politics is that if there was a D beside Trumps name these conversations would be in a complete reverse.
That would depend on if his policies changed with the letter!
I don’t personally like the way President Trump talks and tweets.
But I do agree with most of his policies!
I don’t know what you mean by “a D beside Trumps name.” I stand by my comments on the MAN as a LEADER during this pandemic. If Trump was a Democrat (if that’s what you mean), I would be saying the exact same thing. I’m certain of that.
Not sure if that’s true. I didn’t spend 8 years before Trump disparaging Obama day in and day out. I just lived my life. It’s not because Obama was great, he was far from it, but he definitely carried himself better and projected a better image of himself. Those are the guys that really scare me, because they’re practiced at the art of deception. Clearly Trump hasn’t learned that yet.
It is true, Mike E. I criticized Obama plenty. Again, I hated the man before he became president so I’m not really sure how you can say that if he was Democrat I would be less disparaging. NOT!
Krishna – I don’t like Trump. I think he’s an ass. His personality rubs me the wrong way and his voice and the things he says make me cringe. I think a lot the reason why people really hate him is the age we live in. If he was president 20 or 30 years ago, the sound bytes wouldn’t be everywhere you turn, his exposure would be far less which in reality would make him somewhat more tolerable. Between the constant media coverage by the regular media and then social media where it’s even more exposure (and shit-tons of hate for him), you can’t escape the dumbass orange guy if you tried. He’s so far from a politician that even after almost 4 years he hasn’t learned how to shut his effing mouth, but yes, more likely he just chooses not to. 🙂
Well, I can’t disagree with any of that. LOL.
All I can add is this. He has been the preacher of hate since day one. Hate begets hate.
That I can’t disagree with. He’s been pretty awful on that front.
It never was really bad here, it’s a small state, we have lots of space. It was as also shut down before it was widespread. Now it’s a slow reopening. And, to quote our governor, if everyone f*ckin’ follows the guidelines, it should be fine. 😂
I’ve gone out to the grocery store, wear a mask there. My employer is entirely home based now, we stopped our mail delivery and I go to pick it up at the post office at least once a week. I wear a mask there.
The plan is to go back to the office June 1st. My thoughts on that: if I have to stay in my office, door closed and wear a mask any time I go to get water or the ladies room, I’d rather stay home. What’s the point?
If you can do your job as well at home than by all means you should continue to do so. I think many employers are going to come that conclusion. If the work is getting done well, why bring people into the office unnecessarily and spend tons of money on PPE.
I saw the WV governor, too. Finally an honest comment. It may not be classy, but it is true.
We have a small office, and can do most of our work remotely. We have built/been building remote file cabinets for storage of documents, secure file sharing for sensitive documents, and other cloud-based technologies to enhance work flow processes digitally.
However, we have all been to the office numerous times for meetings, and getting “paperwork” done. I have had a home-office for almost 10 years, as well as, an outside office. We have VPN capability from home-office to office-office and we are expanding on that capability. That gives us the ability to use devices at the office, like printing documents, etc.
Texas has already begun the process of reopening. I’m tired of making sandwiches and the few meals that I can make left overs that are palatable to me.
I don’t think social distancing forever is the answer. What a way to live, I mean not live.
That soon move at 36s is one of the most ungodly moves I have ever seen a RB make.
That was sumpin! I love some of those holes he blasted through too. Miss seeing that kind of blocking up front.
I loved Ricky Williams since the first time I saw him play in 1998 for UT. He saved Mack Brown’s ass.
Then, when he became a Dolphin, I was like, WTF. Go Ricky!
I know a lot of people hate him, but I have always had the utmost respect for him.
I deployed to South America with over 600 Marines. All of us took hydroxychloroquine as a prophylaxes for 2 months. Not one of us died or suffered any side affects. However, we were young and healthy with the exception of drinking to much. Some experts and other countries were touting it’s use early on and the Pres jumped on that band wagon. Should he be blamed, no. We all look for expert opinions. When I get an expert opinion, I share it. That’s what he did.
I have read reports where hydroxychloroquine has greatly improved ones recovery time when taken early enough.
As with just about every single medication in the world there are side affects and contraindications for use with other medications or under lying conditions. Use of a medication that has contraindications for use with another medication can cause death. Example, you don’t take aspirin when you are all ready taking a blood thinner.
If you give hydroxychloroquine to someone with liver problems/damage/disease, some other conditions, taking statins, BP meds or a list of other medications it is going to increase their chances of morbidity whether they have COVID-19 or not.
This is not Trump’s fault. It’s the attending physician writing the Rx.
Masks work because the droplets can get stuck on the mesh of the mask instead of entering your body. Also outgoing same deal. So they help, they just aren’t a pass not to be safe otherwise. Same for the gloves. Think of it like the covid is tiny paint droplets that take 12 to 24 hours to dry. Now visualize walking around in public places where other potentially infected people have been an the surfaces they were c lose enough to to transfer those droplets as having wet paint on the.
Gloves you touch things with will get that wet paint, an infected person will still get a few of those were paint droplets out if in the air you will get some in, I mean you can smell things through the mask right, that’s particles getting in. Taking the gloves off will get the wet paint on your hands, so no washing after defeats the purpose. Not disinfecting things once you get them home defeats the purpose.
Everything that isn’t quarantine fully is risky, and you have to do all the preventative things to lower the risk, but any exposure is potential and all this things only lower the risk
Krishna – True for you, not for me. I don’t spend too much time discussing politics. I never cared to. Now I just feel an obligation to tweak some folks who spend countless hours per week disparaging Trump. It’s like an evil reflex for me. The more I see it, the more I’m compelled to respond. Just this morning I’m on FB and I see a guy who daily posts an anti-Trump blurb. Today he puts up that we’re sending ventilators to Russia and there’s a stock pic of Trump shaking hands with Putin. I just had to remind him that on April 3, 2020 Russia sent a ton of ventilators to the US.
The only social media I entertain is this blog.
That’s part of my problem, I’m on FB, twitter as well as this blog. That’s a fair amount.
I think the ticket income for teams mostly pays for the overhead concerned with putting on an nfl game.
Most of the money comes from tv
With players salaries inline with past references and the loss of revenue due to the virus how will this all work out?
Will players take a pay cut? Afterall they have signed a contract.
It seems i can only write so much from my phone before the post icon disappears. Thats why i reply to my own statement
The rookie scale was based on previous scales. The virus will change that.
Rob – The TV contracts are already in for this season so unless the networks want to pull out, it’s a done deal. Believe me the networks are counting on the NFL. There will always be sponsors, there just be less, but the money is still going to come in.
Do you think all revenues to the owners will be the same as they were previrus?
If not how do these owners make up the difference?
I believe the difference will be huge and should affect the owners ascwell as the players.
The TV contract money like I said will be the same. The revenues they get from the stadium seating will be way down for some teams that routinely sell at capacity or near capacity. They may have to find different ways to make that back up. Leave it to these billionaires to do just that! Don’t sweat it pal. 🙂
PS – Dolphins have never sold well anyway, so if they’re allowed to sell the 15,000 seats they proposed last week, they will be closer to normal than many other clubs. Of course this year they probably would have increased, so that sucks. There’s always next year . . .
Will the supplemental draft be huge? Will college players who elected to stay in school declare for it.
There may not be a college season
OMG, it’s noon! I need to move on. Later.
An interesting study came out (and seemed fairly comprehensive). Said that Covid spread 1% less for every centigrade degree higher of heat, which roughly translates to 5% less transmission for 10 degrees fahrenheit hotter.
Might not sound huge but a virus that spreads at 110% per patient becomes an epidemic and one that spreads at 90% eventually goes away. Good news for the folks in FL and for everyone with the weather getting warmer.
Larry Warford anyone? Know they have their future plan, but guy is only 29. For an OL, that’s not too old. And assume since he got cut wouldn’t have to be a massive contract. We have the cap.
——————————————————–
“The New Orleans Saints cut three-time Pro Bowl guard Larry Warford yesterday.”
“Warford will turn 29 years old this summer and has accounted for just 8 penalties over the course of his last three seasons (2775 offensive snaps) with the Saints. Should the Dolphins be among those courting Warford? Absolutely. The Dolphins have coveted size and power at the point of attack in each of their added offensive linemen this offseason — Warford certainly checks that box with room to spare.
“This is a decorated and accomplished NFL player who meets Miami’s desires in size and has an impressive pro resume — he’d likely become the Dolphins’ top offensive linemen from the jump. The Dolphins should absolutely be ringing Warford now that he’s on the market. If the bidding for his services gets crazy, Miami would be wise to fold their cards — but the team has the cash to absorb him, he’s a scheme fit and the Dolphins would greatly benefit from his experience on their line. Good prospects shouldn’t prevent any team from signing a great player — that’s the boat the Dolphins find themselves in now. If the price is right, consider Miami a viable buyer.”

I don’t know, I’d like to see what we have with our own guys right now. If Flowers fails you have Deiter back at LG, at least this season. At RG I want to see either Hunt or Davis, my guess is Hunt.
My only problem with him is figure cut him for a reason. Lot of the guys we took are raw. Would like it better if he was a center though.
I think Hunt could be RT and Davis RG. Let’s see how Kindley does also.
I have expanded to my own podcast and would appreciate any support https://open.spotify.com/episode/6OqyhpmCVsMaoF2441v749
Was great to both hear your voice and see what you look like. You have it going on. Hope it works out well for you.
Thank you very much stangerx
Stanger – My hope is Deiter becomes our center of the future. Honeymooners Chef of the future just popped into my head. lol
That would be an excellent scenario if Deiter became our future center.
Orob, to see the post button you have to turn your phone sideways.
Boy is looking a little soft. Need to get the boy on a diet and hit the weights hard!
That was one of the knocks on him, soft body type. He may never be a chiseled guy but I’m sure they’re going to get him better shape.
What up People’s?
What’s up Doggy?
MONDAY NIGHT at 5:30 PM the NFL Network will show the classic Chargers-Dolphins playoff game from the historic Orange Bowl. I can’t watch it anymore. It hurts too much!! It is the TOUGHEST LOSS IN THE MIAMI FRANCHISE HISTORY for me.
—————-
However, at 8:00 PM, the same NFL Network will show the opening game of the 1994 NFL season, New England and Drew Bledsoe vs. the Miami Dolphins and Dan Marino. Marino, who had torn an achilles tendon in the previous season during a game I attended at “The Mistake By The Lake,” (otherwise known as Cleveland) looked terrible when he came back many months later in Summer Camp. Indeed, as I drove to Dolphins’ Stadium for the 1994 lid lifter, most on the radio assumed that Scott Mitchell would be the starting quarterback, a concept endorsed by the Miami Herald’s Edwin Pope. However, to the surprise of many, when the stadium announcer got to Miami’s starting quarterback, the name “DAN MARINO” blared out of the stadium speakers to the delight of virtually everybody (except the Patriots’ defenders). The DON of MIAMI had a coy smile as Dan the Man trotted onto the field!!
—————-
After trailing much of the game, Marino led a stirring Dolphins’ comeback when he tossed his FIFTH TOUCHDOWN PASS OF THE GAME, a 40-yard bomb on FOURTH DOWN late in the final quarter!! Marino and Bledsoe combined for over 900 yards passing in what I believe was DAN MARINO’s Finest Hour!! IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS GAME, YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO SEE IT. Me and Mrs. OD were there to see it LIVE in section 116, Row 8, Seats 1-2. It is a day I shall NEVER FORGET!!!
————–
Again it’s on the NFL Network, Monday Night, 8:00 PM.
Hey Doggy!
That was some game. I’ll never forget the hook and lateral play before the half. That was one of the most exciting play I’ve ever seen
The classic Chargers-Dolphins playoff game is the reason I’m a Dolphins fan!
You should have become a Chargers fan. LOL
Well maybe that just affirmed it!
But it is the best game I’ve ever watched!
Cool!
We barely got in our seats and we were down 21-0. Most people remember the hook and lateral before half, but didn’t know we lost the game, because of a bad snap on a FG try that would’ve put us up 10 with less than 2 minutes left.
Still think the LS from Long Snapper U we took in the 6th was a reach? I think not.
Blake Ferguson is a really good LS and makes an impact in coverage on STs. Totally underrated position. Why do you think John Denney had like a 15 year career – he was really good at it? If it’s not good it could lose you the game. Oh my God a 6th round pick. LOL
DAN THE MAN ………..
^
Happy Mothers day Herd!
And all the rest of you Mother …………… 😉
Just thinking the same thing….thinking about Mrs K and her daughter. What great moms.
Happy Mothers Day, Herd, and to all the moms who put up with the these men on this blog. OMFG!!! Must be saints.
I’ve been referred to as “he’s yours” and “only a mother could love.”
Is it stupid to think Flores has greater say/control of buying the groceries than a lot of coaches? Especially, on defense?
He started out as a scout (I believe)?
As executive:
New England Patriots (2004–2005)
Scouting assistant
New England Patriots (2006–2007)
Pro scout

Which NFL Cellar Dweller Is Most Likely To Go Worst-To-First? (Thedraftnetwork)
2. AFC East’s Miami Dolphins (5-11)
Blueprint: Tua Tagovailoa is healthy, masters the playbook and the Dolphins chemistry experiment with a brand new offensive line yields strong results in the power run game. The Dolphins’ press-man defense is able to stay stick on AFC East receivers and allows coach Brian Flores to dial up a ton of schemed heat and push the opposing pocket, forcing turnovers at a higher rate in 2020. The Patriots’ losses prove to be too much to overcome with plug and play replacements and Bills quarterback Josh Allen regresses in Year 3.
This one isn’t completely out of the realm of possibility, but still quite unlikely when you consider all the new pieces in South Florida this season.
Was looking at other teams schedules. Bucs have 5 prime time games. WTF!! I hope they lose them all and the whole country gets to see it.
They’re just trying to squeeze in as much Brady as they can each year until he sucks. Milking it!
15 of the 32 first round picks in 2017 didn’t get their 5th year option renewed. That’s one terrible first round. Some may end up working out but most of the teams have a brand new pick they made to replace them. We were one of only two teams to get anything back for our wasted pick (Charles Harris). The other was the Raider robbing the Texans with Conley. I feel really good about our FO right now.
Happy Mothers Day Herd and to all the mothers out there!
When RT started out I used to comment on his lack of touch. He got better as he went on, but I never felt like he was a receiver friendly QB.
Tua, on the other hand, throws a very catchable ball.
According to the NFL Network’s Rich Eisen, the Patriots have the NFL’s toughest schedule in 2020. Assuming his numbers are accurate, this adds another factor to the mix in terms of who is going to finish where in the AFC East. Another factor is the drafts of each of the teams in our division. It is my strongly held opinion that MIAMI had the best draft in the AFC East. Conversely, I am quite unimpressed by the paltry picks of New England.
I AM GOING ON RECORD as predicting the Cheatriots run of 11 consecutive AFC East titles will come to an end THIS SEASON IF the FULL REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE IS PLAYED OUT (versus a shortened version of the schedule caused by the VIRUS or some other factor.)
PS: Happy Mom’s Day to all the Moms on this site!
The jets and bills had strong drafts
Only time will tell who had the best draft
I lived in Hollywood in 1972, when we won the super bowl the whole block was cheering, it wasn’t credible everyone was jumping up and down the whole block
It was incredible
I remember watching TV when massive crowds met them at the airport as they got off the airplane after the super bowl
When I was young my friends and myself all had different teams that we liked, I like the LA rams with roman Gabriel, couple of my friends like the Baltimore colts with Johnny unite us, and 1 of my friends like the Minnesota Vikings with friend Tarkington, but when Miami started winning we all changed to dolphin fans
I think at the time engine joe cap was the Minnesota Vikings quarterback, I remember the 1969NFC championship game were Minnesota sacked roaming Gabriel in the end zone for safety, I was crushed.
injun joe
The purple people eaters, Jim Marshall, Alan page
Rams head jack snow, willie Ellison, jack elmendorf

After trailing much of the game, Marino led a stirring Dolphins’ comeback when he tossed his FIFTH TOUCHDOWN PASS OF THE GAME, a 40-yard bomb on FOURTH DOWN late in the final quarter!!
——————————————-
OD, that was the pass to Irving Fryar wasn’t it?
Yep, I found it.
YES IT WAS!!
Thinking forward again. We should draft this kid next year to backup Tua. He is a redshirt sophomore so will be draft eligible. North Dakota State QB Trey Lance, 6’3″ 221 pounds. Kid has talent and really good mechanics (foot work and quick release) and accuracy.
2019 stats (redshirt freshman):
192-287 for 2786 at 66.9%, 28 TD’s 0 INT’s, 169 rush for 1100 yards and 14 TD’s
WTF?
WTF?
Try a different one.
Happy Mother’s Day Herd
Every time I read an ORob post it is like learning how to read auto correct speak
He makes Piggy look like a spelling bee champion
lol
Happy Mother’s Day to Herd and all the wives I’ve met and to the rest I haven’t met. Enjoy your day.
Re: Trey Lance video. Is it just me or does NDSU have a bunch of good big beefy lunch pail type TE’s.
Been there done that, not interested in their players.
BBM: Thanks for posting those old dolphin game highlights! My wife and I flew down from Columbus, Ohio (where I worked for 16 seasons) to spend Christmas with my sister & brother-in-law in Pompano Beach. I thought it was JUST GREAT that the NFL scheduled a home game that weekend! That season (1994) we got to see 4 games in our own seats in Miami plus a road game in Indy for good measure! Marino’s stellar comeback from his achilles tear in 1993 was just UNBELIEVABLE!!! It is just one of many reasons why I believe Dan was the greatest quarterback of all time!!
Talking about Herd, some of the ones married to you guys, and most especially to all the most very patient women who raised this difficult crew. 🙂

Thanks everyone for the Mother’s Day wishes.
😉
How are you and the young boy toy going to be celebrating? 🙂
The 1994 Patriots game is the greatest game/sporting event I have ever attended. I was actually choked up at the end of the game.
I have it in as my top 5 sporting events to have watched. I was in enemy territory, watching with a coworker at his house who was from New England, he was a lobster fisherman. I was dying in his house he had a cat and I’m very allergic. I was barely breathing when I left but I was still happy as fuck! Dan the Man and Irving Fryar put on a show!!
I had a tough time breathing at the end also, but fortunately not with the same complications as you! Lol
LOL! I hear that – It was a back and forth affair
Gaskin, Strowbridge, Weaver, Williams, Laird, Eguavoen, Calhoun, Needham, and Steven Parker are some of the guys, that if they make the final 53 will lower our cap, as these guys currently aren’t in the top 51.
Happy Mother’s Day Herd!!!
Dominos will deliver your pizza untouched from oven to your home. Why was it touched in the past?
Special sauce? 😉
Will they start delivering good pizza instead of shit covered cardboard?
LOL
I like their sandwiches though especially the chicken habanero sandwich.
I’ve never tried one of their sandwiches. Next time one of their commercials erases my memory and fools me into ordering their crap (it’s usually once or twice a year), I’ll have to try a sandwich. LOL
That 1994 game against the Pats was amazing. Marino is back baby!!!!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Not unless they start delivering other pizzerias pizza
Kong, seriously Dominos sandwiches are pretty good. My daughter and I like them.
I actually like their habenero wings
Their habenero sauce is tasty.
Yeah, I like it a lot. I like hot sauces and try all kinds. That one has a lot of flavor, not just obnoxiously hot like some sauces lol
It has a bit of a tangy sweetness.
We signed Ferguson.
Miami made 11 selections in the 2020 Draft, leaving seven players still to reach contract agreements. The Dolphins’ drafted rookies remaining to sign are first-round quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, first-round offensive tackle Austin Jackson, first-round cornerback Noah Igbinoghene, second-round offensive tackle/guard Robert Hunt, second-round nose tackle Raekwon Davis, third-round guard Brandon Jones, and sevent-round wide receiver/running back Malcolm Perry.
SbNation
Looks like Brandon Jones has more versatility than we thought🤔
LOL, he left poor 4th rd pick G Solomon Kindley out altogether.
These are the 7 unsigned, Kindley already signed, so he wasn’t in this paragraph.
Oh right duh!
Here’s another U75 article (SI), don’t these guys check their facts. How is it that I can read through an article and see the errors, without having to check the facts, and they’re getting paid to write? Has all journalism been reduced to this?
Another way of looking at this schedule is that the Dolphins will play seven games against teams that made the playoffs in 2019 — New England twice, Buffalo twice, Kansas City, San Francisco and Seattle — and that’s the same number as the Patriots. The Bills will play five games against teams that made the playoffs last season, and the Jets will play six.
👺👺closest thing I could find to 2 pinocchios.
I’m kind of tired and not sure what you’re saying. LOL
The only difference in our schedule than Buffalo is they play Pitt and Tenn, instead of Cin and Jax, so 2 against the cheats, SF, Sea, KC, and Tenn makes 6 games against teams that made the playoffs, not 5. The jets play the same 7 games we do against 2019 playoff teams.
Oh okay I’m not really up to speed on the schedules except for the bizarre back to back Jets games with a bye in between. That hasn’t happened in 29 years.
I give up
That win in Foxboro knocked the Patriots out of the top seed in the AFC and into the Wild Card round.
Anyone consider 4.63 good speed for an RB or WR?
“Perry was an option QB in college but has RB-like vision, cutting skills, and good speed. Not much contact balance but reads blocks well.” — Chris Trapasso, CBSSports.com
I would say his football speed is good, because with his moves and quickness he plays faster than he is.
He’s not straight line fast but football quick and fast because of exactly what you said. Jerry Rice was a 4.6 guy.
I’d like to see Perry bulk up like Edelman did, he could be even better.
He might become a very unique weapon for us.
Any takers on the 28 year old Warford?
Mike touched on this the other day and I agree with him that we probably want to take a good look at the guys we already have.
One thing for sure is the OL is going to have a very different look. 🙂
STEVE SAID, I’d like to see Perry bulk up like Edelman did.”
NOT ME: 2 seasons ago Edelman was suspended 4 games for “being on the juice!” He ended the season by winning MVP in the Super Bowl, proving, once again, that CRIME DOES PAY if you play for the CHEATRIOTS!

Hey Steve or Tim (or ANYBODY). WHAT do you think about the NFL ELIMINATING replay appeals on interference calls? The story I saw said that ONLY 18 per cent of the plays that were appealed were overturned. TO ME, that MORE THAN JUSTIFIES KEEPING REPLAYS on interference calls (or NO CALLS). Early on, the NFL Gods in NY refused to overturn ANY plays regarding interference. Then, finally, in October, plays that were NOT deemed interference earlier became interference on replay as head coaches and GM’s screamed bloody murder!!!–THE REAL PROBLEM is the fact that this league has too many OLD FARTS LIKE ME still trying to run down the field and trying to get an interference call RIGHT!! THEY NEED YOUNGER, QUICKER, guys for this job!!
———–
Two seasons ago the Saints absolutely got hosed out of a Super Bowl spot they had fairly earned. I’d like to think the “OLD FARTS” just got another key call wrong, rather than give serious thought that “THE FIX WAS IN!” If the NFL owners, and their rules committee, think fans are going to forget that fiasco, they are terribly wrong, again!!! One year back in the 1990’s, the NFL decided to do away with replay for one season. The results were predictable as blown call followed blown call in several key games. FOR the ONLY TIME IN MY LIFE, I called Huizenga’s secretary long distance all the way from Ohio to tell her, in NO uncertain terms, that the NFL had made a horrid decision just so they could save the 1/2 of one percent that replay cost the NFL. I even told her the NFL could use the replay time TO RUN ANOTHER COMMERCIAL SO THEY COULD RECOUP THE COSTS OF REPLAY!!! About 10 days later, I got a call from another Dolphins’ employee thanking me for my comments. He said “Mr. Huizenga is always looking for ways to improve the NFL product. And he appreciates my taking the time to to make my suggestions.” I’m guessing my comments may (or MAY NOT) have fallen on dead ears. However, after a one year hiatus, instant replay returned to the NFL on a permanent basis. NOW, I believe, almost every major professional sport (and some amateur sports) have instant replay in some form.
ONCE,AGAIN, SCIENCE WINS OUT OVER BULLSHIT!!!
I’m not sure what the answer is anymore. I side with the refs doing less. I’d rather let them play more.
NO WAY THAT BLOWN CALL against the Saints should stand, given the fact that replay proved beyond a shadow of a doubt THAT IT WAS THE WRONG CALL!!
BTW, every survey ever done of NFL ticket holders has revealed that the vast majority prefer instant replay over no instant replay. When you already have the technology in place and paid for, you should use it to improve the quality of your product.

OUT FOR TONITE.
^
I don’t want to give the officiating crew another means to control the game, so no on instant replay on PI.
Without having the challenges on PI, like in the Saints situation, they could just as easily huddled up and called PI. It was clear as day for everyone watching it was PI, they didn’t call it, because they didn’t want to.
There’s many examples of bad PI, called or not called. The solution is the college rule and not the spot foul.
We know the officiating is crooked in every sport, from Lebron taking 4 steps to VGK vs Sharks to the Saints to the fan interference at Yankee stadium.
We know Dallas, NY teams, cheats, Steelers and some others get favorable calls more often than other teams.
The problem with PI review is it’s to much of a judgement call.
They have the technology and still get it wrong.
The best news I read in a long time was the league let that PI review rule die. Horrible implementation and interpretation. Wildly inconsistent application. More than a few times I disagreed with the determination, which of course is the coup de grace in my book, lol. Good riddance.
Now, COVID is in the WH, and the president wonders why.
Oh, and he wonders why testing doesn’t work. Brilliant.
It just did.
Facts, not politics.
What are you talking about? Context, please.
I didn’t realize the Dolphins were the only AFC East team to beat the Patriots last year. Congrats Flores!
Hopefully, sans Brady, they lose a few more to the teams in this conference this year, if there’s a season.
You mean the Super Antiviral Force Field at the WH is not working. OMG, we are doomed.

——————————————————————————————–
This is why 40 times make peoples eyes pop but really shouldn’t. A RB takes the snap and is almost immediately changing direction, or making a cut to bust a seam, or having to break tackles. Majority of their work is not done at full speed. Acceleration is a key, as they need to see the lane and explode through the lane, vision is a huger characteristic, change of direction with acceleration but deal, straight-line speed, who cares, they rarely get to hit it except the handful of plays they break away.
WR’s, especially slot WR’s are not usually at full speed on their routes either. Curls, Digs, Outs, these are routes that dont really require burner speed and they are the bread and butter of quick hit systems. As a compliment WR/RB/WC QB, i thinkt he guy is a perfect fit and i think his speed is right where it should be. Like was already touched on, he is football quick, not straight-line fast, which is fine for the role i think they will use him in.
I agree. Edwards-Hellaire ran a 4.60. It’s more about quick change of direction, vision and acceleration. Also, can’t go by a combine 40 time alone. Many run at the combine and don’t put up their fastest 40 for whatever reason. Jarvis Landry ran a ridiculous 4.65 at the combine but later posted in the 4.5’s at his pro day. Many, like Perry, did not get to run again at his pro day. Perry ran his 3 cone drill in 7.12 seconds and 20-yard shuttle in 4.31 seconds. Both times put him close to the top of the wide receiver group. That’s what makes him a weapon. I was looking up Perry after we drafted him and saw somewhere he ran sub 4.4 in high school.

All those guys led long fulfilling lives. No reason for sadness when they pass.
I was worried that one of the three was going to be Sean Connery
What happens if the NFL season is delayed or postponed due to the virus, do the players still get paid their contract?
They most likely would, its a contract with guarantees. The non-guaranteed portion would be determined if the contract was voided by cutting them, etc.
I don’t think so
I hope so, Tua just bought his mom a Cadillac Escalade.
Looking at things that would cause us to have a slow start, because of all the player changes in a disrupted offseason, vs last years late success.
On O we should have all of our WRs, Gesicki, and Fitz back and playing week 1, so no change there. New RBs shouldn’t change things much, just some blitz pickups, but with 2 vets getting the bulk of the early PT I don’t see an issue. The OL will be at least 4/5s different, but how much worse, if any, can they be? I think most would be shocked, if it wasn’t a vast improvement from the get go.
On D I expect the starters in the secondary to be be Jones, X, Rowe and McCain on opening day, eventually I see Jones taking over for McCain, but even if Jones starts game 1 I dont see any loss in readiness. Adding in Igbinoghene at Nickel, if he’s not ready maybe someone like Needham can start the year.
LBs same inside, and Van Noy outside, don’t think he misses a beat from last year or at worst is better than Harris. Lawson, again a vet, so I don’t see much need there to worry and he should be a vast improvement.
DL returning Godchaux and Wilkins, new Davis and Ogbah, could be a slight getting up to speed, but better than last year for sure.
Obviously its going to take some time for the rookies and newcomers to gel, before they’re playing at their best, but what’s all the talk in the media about no playoffs for us this year, because of lack of OTAs in a year with so much change?
The O will be able to move the ball at least as well as the last 9 games, when we averaged about 26 pts a game. The D really can’t be worse. Let’s say we start the same way we ended at 5-4, the last 7 are jetsx2, cin, chiefs and cheat at home, the LV and Bills on road. Winning 3 against jets/cin and one more doesn’t seem that far fetched. It may not happen, but to rule us out of being a playoff contender seems like lame reporting.
In every real estate contract theres a portion called “force majeure” it absolves parties from there liability due to unforseen problems that are out of their control. An act of god. I can only assume that it would be in the CBA
I dont think so, i mean its a labor contract, so as long as they arent cut, ie laid off/fired, they would get paid. Now the question becomes if they qualify for the furloughing that others are, where they get paid 2/3’s their salary but are able to be retained as employees.
if that is the case and there is a loss of revenue a portion should come from player salaries. Im sure it will get very complicated
anyone here willing to give me a tutorial on posting an image? Now that I’m working from home I have a bit more time. 🙂 thanks in advance.
Copy the image ural paste it in here….blammo.
what if its a jpeg?
The url has to end in jpg, png, jpeg etc. If there’s more crap after those designations, just cut that other stuff off.
If its a jpeg you have on your pc you would have to host it using some sorta internet hosting service like photobucket.

Every time I read an ORob post it is like learning how to read auto correct speak
If you read it out loud, quickly, it makes sense. LOL
Scheduling advantages vs disadvantages, home vs road is only affected by scheduling Thursday games as all the locations are predetermined on a rotating basis.
Week Jax, no advantage really either way since Jax is away week 2 and the short flight to Jax.
Week 4 vs Seattle, coming off of Thursday game we have adv.
Week 5 at SF, we have a slight adv, since they play Sunday night week4.
Week 8 vs Rams, they’re coming off of week 7 Monday night adv.
Week 9 at AZ, they’re coming off of a bye, disadv.
Week 10 vs jets, they’re coming off of Monday night vs cheats, adv.
Week 15 vs Cheats, they’re coming off of Thurs, disadv.
Week 16 at LV, they’re coming off of Thurs, disadv.
Week 17 at Bill’s, they’re coming off of Monday night at cheats, adv.
5-3 the schedule gives us the advantage, but two of the advantages are slight coming off of Sunday night. The 3 disadvantages are coming off of 1 bye and 2 mini byes. In conclusion our disadvantages out weigh our advantages. I’m sure no other team has to play 3 bye/mini bye disadvantage games and a road Thursday game, but none of the 3 disadvantage games are unwinnable, so…
I don’t give a rats ass that Tua is leading the NFL in jersey sales. It’s actually getting on my nerves. I want him to lead the NFL in team wins and TD’s and completion pct. and yards etc. For some reason it’s irritating to me.
Its like getting the cart before the horse in some ways, the excitement for something that hasnt even showed ont he field yet. Its trepidation, and i can understand it, i generally hate hype, im more of a wait until you show me kinda deal, but people always do this and get excited about the what if.
Exactly. All the stardom just because he got drafted. It’s way too much way too soon. Not being mean but I don’t get why anyone would buy his jersey right now.
More than the Micheal Jordan “suck fest”??
It’s irrelevant to winning
Either way it’s irrelevant
For now it’s just hype
Somethings hype fizzles
Sometimes it sizzles
I personally like to see our fans get excited
And I like it bc so many people criticize south fla fans
But the Dolphins have always done well selling merchandise
Fan base is alive and well after decades of mediocrity
Weeeeeeeeeeee
Polar bear in a Blizzard???? 😉
Tech novice in a blizzard 🙂
And one from the side! Nice! 😉

I’m not so sure about this. Some players get signing bonuses, workout bonuses, etc to pay them in the “off season” but then they get “game checks” during the season. If you aren’t playing games, I am not 100% convinced that they would get their “game checks”
They have the division as being a really tight race. I mean just eyeballing it 🙂 I cant really say i dont agree with their rankings. On a logical level, those numbers make sense, but football is not played with logic, and a lot of team do worse or better than they seem like they would every year.
Rhino – are you trying to post a pic you have that isn’t from the web? Is it from your camera?
