Injuries and cuts reshape Dolphins roster

When I first heard the news that the Dolphins waived/injured our 5th RD pick Curtis Weaver I was furious. Sometimes I can’t help myself, I think “same old Dolphins”. I thought for $670K we could have put the kid on I/R and next year we’d have ready to go and see what he can do. Take a look at the picture up above, the dude is flexing and my modest biceps are bigger than that dudes, he looks soft. Still, Weaver was productive and many draft experts gave us high marks on that pick, a great value in the 5th RD. The Browns, who claimed Weaver have put him on I/R. To be fair, I thought Flores looked especially and unusually uncomfortable when asked about Curtis Weaver. Flores is pretty quick and direct and during the interview, he labored to answer why Weaver was cut which leads me to think there’s something more than we may ever find out. In any case, Weaver is a Brown now and you know what that means to me. (I’ll spare you the expletives)

Kalen Ballage’s career as a Miami Dolphin is also over. He leaves much like one other promising RB draft pick of the past left, in disappointing fashion. Daniel Thomas never fulfilled his potential and Kalen Ballage who I once thought could be our version of David Johnson “light” yet turned out to be David Johnson 20,000,000 gallons of helium. So with the waiving of Curtis Weaver and then the release of Kalen Ballage, the Dolphins signed DB Deatrick Nichols and claimed RB Salvon Ahmed, a former Washington Husky RB. I can’t blame Kalen Ballage completely because our organization doesn’t have a ton of cred evaluating RB’s. We traded away Ajayi (Gase), we traded away Kenyan Drake (who is flourishing with the Cards) and now gave up on Kalen Ballage. If Ballage does well elsewhere, that will amp up this feeling.

The camp battles so far are encouraging. Big Robert Hunt and Solomon Kindley are making noise, winning some battles and losing others but making a splash nonetheless. I like that last years 3rd RD pick Michael Deiter is getting a lot of reps at center and is most likely being groomed as the replacement for Ted Karras who is here on a 1 YR show me contract. I can actually see light at the end of the tunnel with this O-line. Eventually, I see Jackson – Flowers – Deiter – Kindley – Hunt, or maybe Jesse Davis continues his elevated play at RT and holds off Hunt and Hunt moves inside to RG and then Kindley is a very nice depth player to have. The QB’s have all had ups and downs and rookie phenom Tua Tagovailoa is not immune to that. This is expected, anyone who thought Tua was just going to ride onto the field on a unicorn and throw rainbow TD’s every throw was due for disappointment. He’s just getting started and I’m sure there is a lot the kid is trying to absorb at this point. He’s got talent, let him get up to speed. Honestly, I expect some play from mostly everyone with the limited amount of work players and coaches are able to get in. Hopefully as the season progresses, things will look better. If that happens, that’s a good thing. I think teams that have mostly the same personnel and coaches back have a clear advantage over teams with many new p-layers, new coaches and new systems. The Dolphins check all of those boxes so keep your early expectation low.

GO DOLPHINS!!

We moved on, because we found a better option. Flores continually says that’s what they’re trying to do at every position. The risk to reward was worth the chance on Rosen.

  3. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

The 20 or so hours of waiver wait time is about over. We should have a better idea of our week 1 roster soon.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

      Hand size Mike for Bowden is 9 3/4″, Tannehill 9″, Tua 10″, Parker 9 1/4″, Landry 10 1/4″ Burrow 9″

It does appear that successful NFL quarterbacks tend to have hand sizes closer to 10 inches than nine, or at least over 9.5 inches, so that doesn’t bode well for Burrow.

I think it’s important for a WR to have large hands, but not as much as a QB.

Bowden seems to check off all the boxes. The rumor on him is he’s more interested in buying cars than the playbook, but he does have a son to keep him grounded.

Other than the Raiders playing him at RB instead of WR and him being slow to adjust…something is missing from the equation, you don’t get rid of 3rd round picks before they play a game.

  4. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

During the offseason I argued we would get a 6th at best for Rosen. I didn’t expect for him to be part of the team this year.

I am OK with using the 2nd to give Rosen a try and it not panning out, mostly because we had so many picks it didn’t hurt giving up one 2nd. QB is the one position that impacts the team in such a significant way that I believe in a philosophy that says you keep using capital until you get your guy, even if it takes a few years.

At some point though if you keep missing and other guys end up being good (say if Herbert or Love turns out to be great and Tua doesn’t), then you have to start questioning your decision makers.

  5. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

The Lynn Bowden thing is pretty weird. 3rd rd pick gets traded before the start of his 1st season? I have to think he was terrible in Raiders camp, or he pissed someone off.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Or maybe we were really intrigued with him and picked up the phone and made an offer and they accepted. Who knows? Maybe they had discussed him when the trade for McMillan went down.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I considered that, and that would be our best case scenario, but it just makes no sense. Why weren’t they part of the same trade. There could have been a trust thing there on our part. We’ll give you McMillan and in a few days you give us Bowden, but why do it that way? If that was the way it went down, it’s weird.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

But the compensation we gave up to get him didn’t match what Raiders used to get him, so it wasn’t an offer they couldn’t refuse.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

If you make it along with the McMillan trade and he doesn’t pass a physical or some other issues comes up you void the trade, maybe they didn’t want that risk.

I agree Mike it likely came up with the Mc trade.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Why on earth would we trade a 4th for a guy that the Raiders spent a 3rd on, he didn’t even make it out of their camp, and we might have concerns may not pass a physical, and make it ‘tied’ to the McMillan trade? That makes even less sense.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

This think perhaps I misunderstood your original comment, Mike. I thought you were saying it was ‘wink’ tied to the McMillan trade, but rereading I see that probably wasn’t what you meant. Just that he came up

    • New Age's avatar New Age says:

Raiders had concerns about Lynn Bowden, both on and off the field

Interesting article. Not sure about all of it but it makes sense. Looking at some of the highlights, he’s a jack of all trades but master of none. He wasn’t a very good WR, and was a terrible QB. He was a solid RB but was that because he was in the QB position while running? He’s definitely not on par with Lamar or other running QBs so we will see if he works as a hard to defend option in another area of the field.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Basically took a flyer on him, I guess. Off field concerns, didn’t make it out of his first camp. He really doesn’t seem like our kind of guy. There must be something there they find intriguing.

  6. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Nothing wrong with being frustrated by misses and cuts of previous regimes or current ones. Why shouldn’t you be disappointed? Let’s get real here! I’m not saying you have to cry about it for days but there should be disappointment when you miss on high draft picks.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I think it’s a matter of philosophy. Nobody is jumping for joy that Rosen didn’t pan out, lol, but understanding the philosophy that you have to keep trying until you get a QB until you hit on one, you have to kind of expect it, not harp on it being some huge mistake.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I’m going with ODs theory of Rosen can’t read a D. Once they benched him last year in the Skins game his career in Miami was over, if they thought he had a chance to be their franchise QB he would’ve played out the year. With that said he did us a favor by stinking it up.

If he had been Tannehill level we could’ve spent the next 7 years wasted on his potential. As it turned out Fitz got the nod, the program changed drastically and FAs sought us, for a change. Again Rosen did us a favor. We’ll see how big with the future comparison of Tua vs Burrow.

  7. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Steve – Maybe they didn’t see what they expected from him and getting the 4th back was better than keeping him buried on their depth chart.

  8. Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

  9. New Age's avatar New Age says:

Flores does well with players is the only reason I’m not more concerned with Bowden. When you look at his games and stats, nothing before last year jumped out and last year mainly jumped out because of him playing QB. He was a terrible QB by the way but teams had a hard time stopping his running. I don’t think that would be a problem in the NFL though. Looking at it more, is there anything he does better than Grant or Breida? Maybe injury insurance at scatback?

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Hopefully either him or Perry pan out if not both. Someone earlier mentioned wildcat schemes. With two of these jack of all trades guys, we might see some very interesting offensive sets this year.

  10. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Other than 1st rd picks I’m not really worried about any picks right now, because we have so many this year, next year, and the roster is so young. When you have an aging team and you give away draft picks for questionable players it means a lot more. We have more room for error, but we need to hit on all of our 1sts.

  11. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Kong – In the case of Rosen, yes, but it’s the cumulative effect of him, Raekwon McMillan and so many others that we have jettisoned because they weren’t scheme fits or just unwanted players from previous regimes. We have to finally end that and be more like the Ravens and Steelers and have continuity with the GM and HC. Changing every 3 years makes this happen. We need Flores and Grier to stay together for a nice long stretch and these type of things will lessen significantly, or at least it should.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Gotcha, I agree with all that. Objectively speaking, right now I really believe we have the right guy in Flores, and the book is still out on Grier IMO, so I get being annoyed and questioning moves like Rosen after all the shit we’ve seen for the last decade, lol.

This year will do a lot to inform us about our GM. Hopefully we do have the right guys and this is the start of many years together.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I agree, but let’s not assume these other teams that have great programs don’t miss on draft picks. Belicheat himself missed on many top picks.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Yep — scheme changes burn talent.

  12. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Let’s compare the entire trade, in essence we traded Mc for Bowden swapping a 5th for a 6th. If we didn’t make the trade, kept Mc and played him very little, or worse, played him a lot and he continued to get beat in pass D, would we be better off?

Hard to believe we would’ve been better off, and Bowden is under contract for 4 more years, instead of Mcs 1.

  13. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Might have been two different transaction but essentially we gave the Raiders McMillan for Bowden. And if they didn’t see McMillan in their scheme going forward I’m cool with that. He is in a contract year and we got 4 seasons of Bowden.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

That is what I thought Mikey was saying at first, and that doesn’t make sense to me. Why do a weird two trades over a few days thing instead of just making the trade. I can believe they may have discussed Bowden on the first trade, but don’t see the logic in a ‘wink’ trade. JMHO

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Yes, to answer directly, that’s not what I was implying. I just think they may have discussed acquiring him during the McMillan trade but at that time they didn’t like the compensation. Maybe we upped the bounty or maybe they just changed their mind. We’ll likely never know.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

I wasn’t saying that was the way everything was planned….. just that’s the way it turned out. Maybe Greir and the Raiders had a great talk and when Bowden got caught with a hooker their first call was us. 🙂

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

It’s not a wink trade, it’s a taking the contingency out of the trade, trade.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Ok, gotcha Mika and Stang. That makes a lot more sense to me, lol.

  14. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Steve – Like I said, it could have been in discussion with the McMillan trade and maybe at first they balked at it but after consideration they relented.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I like my theory that we didn’t want to lose Bowden, especially off of the heels of the Ballage trade not going thru, due to some technicality, which would make your statement true also.

  15. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Isn’t it easier to sell your house first, before buying a new one, contingent upon selling your old one? That’s what these trades were.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Where the hell am I going to put all my shit while I’m looking for my new house? lol

Usually player trades go down in the same trade. I don’t want to keep harping on this, so I can agree that you may be right, but IMO they were two different trades. 🙂

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Can we use donkeys instead of houses? Can’t wrap my head around the house analogy. 😀

Hopefully either him or Perry pan out if not both. Someone earlier mentioned wildcat schemes. With two of these jack of all trades guys, we might see some very interesting offensive sets this year.

I had them in the Wildcat together, both in the QB spot, split slightly off center, so you didn’t know which one was going to take the snap.

I’m going all out like it’s Super Bowl for our opening game. I’m doing a full homemade Indian cuisine spread.

Chicken curry, butter chicken, shai paneer, potato rice pilaf, pakora with mint chutney and tamarind chutney, and naan.

I have basically spent my quarantine time learning how to make Indian food and painting the whole dang house. lol

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I don’t serve Indian food for Superbowl, that line was more about the quantity of food I’m making.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Callback to the oxford comma. Needed to separate ‘naan’ as a different item than the ‘pakora with mint chutney and tamarind chutney’. lol

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

That sounds awesome. Love me some Indian food. Never knew someone who could make it (even if am sure a bunch of Indian people I have met could).

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Stang, I don’t know anyone else who makes it either. I fell in love with it after going to an Indian lunch buffet a few years ago. I eat and cook a lot of different food, but Indian is my favorite.

They key is in the spices. With most international cuisines, you can usually find substitutes for hard to find spices and staples. With Indian food, you have to invest in certain products or it’ll never taste the same. Could be why not a lot of people make it. Of course I don’t know a lot of people that like Indian food, so that is probably a factor as well, lol.

Kong – I had some Pad Thai from what is supposed to be one of the best Thai restaurants in NJ and all can say is it was easily the most flavorful and enjoyable Pad Thai I have ever eaten. I suspect they used a generous amount of tamarind because it was delicious. I had it 2 days later because I couldn’t finish it and it was a flavor bomb again 2 days later. I find Indian food to be much the same, just bursting with different flavors that aren’t so familiar to me and it’s just so pleasurable.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Nice! Of the people I serve Indian food to, if they don’t like it, it’s because of the flavor palette being so different from our own.

I experience it the same way you describe. It’s bursting with flavor, most unfamiliar, and it’s so complex. Amazing food.

  22. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Cav — I’m sure with the internet now you can get whatever spices you need, and in the old days that might have been why people did not make it. Cause that is the thing about Indian — the spices are just so very different. Lot of the dishes look like could come from a Chinese menu, but one bit tells you a whole different world. Not for everyone though….. my wife hates it.

    • olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

YOUNG STANGER: When the University of South Florida was founded it became the most southerly location for ANY state university in the Sunshine State (neither FAU nor FIU had been created yet, and the U of MIAMI is a private (and VERY expensive university). HENCE the USF name selection

THAT SAID, the founders of USF obviously weren’t geography majors. Something like “TAMPA BAY UNIVERSITY” would have been more appropriate, especially since almost everyone understood that it was only a matter of time before southern Florida had not one but TWO state universities. (Also, it should be noted that Florida Southern came into being before WW2 in LAKELAND. It is a PRIVATE school, also).

USF (Tampa) was already a pretty large school when I went to college in the late 60’s. I felt much more at home at the smaller FAU campus. However, FAU, which had less than 2,000 students in the mid-60’s, maxed-out at over 30,000 two years ago, before the big virus caused enrollment decreases.

THE DALLAS STARS out shot, out hit and OUT SCORED the VGK in the opening period of tonight’s Western Conference Finals on NBC. NO surprise to me because I thought Vegas might enter this contest a bit over confident. HOWEVER, there are still at least TWO more periods of action ahead of us. AND I STILL EXPECT Vegas to win this series in 5 or 6 games.
    ————–
AT LEAST THIS GAME has been quite intense and exciting, unlike last night’s boring, lopsided, affair where the Isles showed up and the Flyers didn’t. Look for more excitement, and, perhaps, a fight or two as this game progresses. If Fluery does his job well in the next two periods, I still believe the odds favor VGK. BUT—The Stars DO HAVE a real shot tonight.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Dallas is tough. It took the Blues a double overtime game 7 to knock them out last year. Vegas has to be on their A game to win this series.

      • olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

With just 8 shots in the 1st period and either 4 or 5 shots in the 2nd period, Vegas has yet to show their A game tonight. Fluery saved Vegas’ ass a couple of times in the 2nd period. Otherwise this would be a 2-0 or 3-0 game. The VGKneeds to come out of the locker room and SCORE with their man advantage at the start of the 3rd period.

  42. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

3 games in 4 nights, and having trouble scoring doesn’t exactly breed over confidence.

Hockey playoffs is a grind. The team that makes the most plays wins. Just like in all sports.

    • olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

Vegas’ total dominance of their opponent in their last game actually did breed over confidence. The 3rd period of their previous game was as lopsided as I can recall during the current playoffs. Of course if you DON’T accept the over confidence factor, then you’ve GOT to believe Dallas is simply the better team. AND I DON’T accept that even for a second.
      —————-
The NEXT game in this series should bring out THREE GOOD PERIODS OF HOCKEY from the favored Knights, who, found out tonight that you can’t beat Dallas with just one period of good effort. I’m going to say VGK wins the next game by MORE THAN 1 GOAL!

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

The entire game 7 was lopsided, yet all they could score was 1 goal, with the goalie in the net. The Vancouver coach played not to lose and it backfired, making VGK look dominant.

I believe Dallas played better in game 1, because of the mentally tough 3 games in 4 days VGK just went thru and getting out hit. Without Ryan Reeves playing, Dallas was able to control the 1st period, when the goal was scored.

Besides, this is hockey, a lucky bounce or roll of a puck can change the game.

  50. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

The Dolphins ended up signing 17 players to their practice squad because they had two players who do not count against the 16-player limit.

One is Durval Queiroz, who gets an exemption because of his international practice player status. (This is why I said Lol to Tim above)

The other is wide receiver Antonio Callaway, who officially has been suspended by the NFL. While the NFL transactions log didn’t provide a length for the suspension, NFL Network reported it’s for seven games.

The other 15 include 12 players who were waived by the Dolphins, along with two other familiar faces — quarterback Jake Rudock and cornerback Javaris Davis, who was in training camp this summer.

The two newcomers are defensive back Brian Cole, a rookie seventh-round pick from Mississippi State, and defensive lineman Nick Coe, a rookie free agent from Auburn.

The dozen players brought back after being waived Saturday are RB Salvon Ahmed, WR Matt Cole, DB Tae Hayes, DB Nate Holley, T Jonathan Hubbard, LB Kylan Johnson, DT Benito Jones, WR Kirk Merritt, TE Chris Myarick, DE Tyshun Render and CB Ken Webster.

The guys I hoped would be there seem to mostly be there, like Cole and Merritt, Render and Benito, Ahmed and Rudock. The rest I don’t really care or know enough about.

  51. Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

    Coe is an interesting guy!
If I’m thinking of the same one?

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Yes, I agree. This is the type of development guy you want on the PS, one that’s not ready yet, but has a huge upside. I see them adding some weight/strength to his frame and playing him all over the place, typical Flores type player.

2020 Guide: What Ourlads’ Scouting Services said about NICK COE: Auburn, 6045 280 4.81. Junior entry, one-year starter, Asheboro, NC. Reached his peak in 2018 and failed to maintain his starting role last fall. A big time high school wrestler in the 285-pound class. Was known for his position-versatility at Auburn, as he lined up as a stand up outside linebacker, 3-4 defensive end, and 4-3 defensive tackle. The tool set he brings to the table allowed him to achieve the tweener-status, one he really produced from in 2018 (13.5 TFL and 7 sacks). However that tweener status didn’t help him much in 2019, as he struggled to make a consistent impact. There is a lot of stiffness in his game and a team may want to force him into one spot and develop him there. His ideal position is likely a 3-4 defensive end where he can use his length and contact power to consume blockers and control 1-2 gaps. Long armed with a country-strong upper body and capable knee bend. An inside-out player that has a bit of a tweener-style. Has a body that will handle more bulk over time. Gets his hands on the blocker early with a violent strike. Capable of playing low and quick. Will make reads inside and show natural gravitation toward the action. A strong finisher who wraps up the ball carrier with man-strength and solid wrap up technique. Shows the extra gear burst while closing in on the ball. Has shown an array of developed rush moves inside. Doesn’t play with consistent pad level. Will get caught looking in the backfield and lose track of his leverage and width. Has a hard time disengaging. 2019 stats: 15 T, 3 TFL, 3 QBH. Edge speed:left 2.41, right 2.30. OSR:12/25. Fourth/fifth round. (A-33 3/4, H-10 1/4, BP-21, 10-1.67).

    WR Kirk Merritt
    WR Antonio Calloway
    WR Matt Cole

Calloway is interesting too. I mean, if Flores can get his head straight, he’s a talented guy.

Thing about Flores is he can speak straight to these guys, having the minority upbringing as he did. I think it gives him a huge advantage. It worked, so far with Preston.

So we got a free 1st round talent in Preston, but gave up a 2nd in the Rosen cut. To me that’s better than a wash.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

16, and we get an exemption for Neto. There’s other rules that changed for this year, that I posted last week, such as players off the PS can play in a game twice, then go back to the PS the next day before having to sign an NFL contract, the 3rd time they revert to the old rules. There’s some waiver rule changes too, that deal with these moves.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Wait, you can protect 16, or there are 16 on the PS? I thought there was a certain number you can protect from being poached.

Even if I can get tickets with the limited seating (which I doubt)….. at that point would rather set up at Bokamper’s or something for the game. But if a Covid spike comes don’t even know can do that.

If the gravitas is there for folks to come down for the Lions game….. I will set something up. But you get the idea…..

This is nice to here from Raiders GM Mayock.

“No. 1, it was a football decision only,” Mayock said Sunday, per The Athletic’s Tashan Reed. “Character, off the field, the kid did absolutely nothing wrong. We did all our homework on the kid off the field. He worked his tail off. He came to work every day. So this was completely a football decision. It had nothing to do with anything else.

“Quite frankly, I think the position change is a difficult one in any year, but it’s exaggerated in a COVID-19 year with no offseason,” Mayock continued, alluding to Bowden’s unofficial move from wide receiver to running back. “You’re taking a kid that was a slot receiver in ’18, a quarterback in ’19 and asking him to play running back in ’20. Really the only other thing I’m going to say about it is that it was my call. He was not able to play today at the level expected. Because of that, we felt like we had to make a move. Again, it’s 100 percent on me.”

Callaway is incredibly talented. He could be starting for us before the end of the year. I do agree he needs to get things straight and we need to make sure he has himself center and ready to be a pro, but he might be more talented than anyone on our team currently if he can get out if his own way. Before he lost his way at UF he was almost unstoppable and that’s when we really didn’t have a QB to get the ball to him.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Yep, he was a top graded talent with loads of off field issues. It was a very Bleicheat kind of move to pick him up. A no risk reclamation project with a lot of upside.

I feel with the locker room we’ve created, there is no risk he’ll be a distraction. Either he takes direction and our team helps him get his head on straight, in which case he can be a real dynamic player for us, or he doesn’t buy into the program and we jettison his ass.

I’m just cause one idiot who is part of a group does something that it does not mean all members of that group support it. One-third of the country is Dem and one-third GOP. Every time either a Dem or Republican does something nasty does that mean the party approves of that action?

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

But the left does approve of BLM. How do you feel about that? I guess you take that as rhetorical, since you won’t answer, so you must approve of BLM too.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

I think the BLM is fairly extremist, or at least the extreme parts of it are. Others want to go the MLK way, which I respect even if don’t agree 100% with the policy objectives. Sometimes I think you forget I’m a Republican.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Sometimes I think you forget you’re a Republican. MLK was trying to get equal rights, totally different than the anarchy and Marxism that BLM is working on.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

I was talking the MLK non-violent way, not policy. I’ve written before about the BLM stuff around here. Daytime is the MLK way and then when the rally is over the bad stuff happened. I think that more about hooligans who saw their chance than BLM organizing it.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Why does it matter what you do in the day, if you’re burning and looting at night?

On the sexual offender: well he was so nice to everyone of us. I didn’t think he could do that.

  93. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

The problem is an anarchist group is using a social justice issue to push their Marxists ways. Why would any SJW stand with them? Ignorance, or gas lighted who knows.

  94. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I’m totally for the MLK way, and I’m sure some people in BLM and others that support it believe it could be that way, but I think as a whole, they’ve proven they’re not. That’s why I can’t get behind that movement. I’m all for black rights, but I don’t think the police are the biggest problem. Once they can come to grips that they have been their own worst enemy, they can change things for the better.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Don’t support BLM but do support the right of the people in it to air their grievances and protest. Figure that’s what democracy is about. Now when them doing that leads to chaos….. I would crack down. But then the chaos part is only in a couple places at this point.

But yeah they have a whole lot more to deal with than just police shootings. They do galvanize their communities though.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

But the people protesting have aligned with BLM as have the left.

If Trump didn’t disavow the KKK, even without having anything to do with them. The MSM would be all over his ass, and put the country in an uproar, yet when the left does worse it’s no problem. Why?

  95. pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

    BLM = KKK

  96. pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

Stanger – …”does that mean the party approves of that action?” It does when they do nothing to stop it, actively encourage it, and never denounce it. When you vote for Biden/Harris in November that is exactly what you are voting for. Racism, anarchy, violence and lawlessness.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

You seen how many prominent Republicans have said they will vote for Racism, anarchy, violence and lawlessness? Never seen anything like it in my 50+ years. Must be something new in the water.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Establishment Republicans are worse than Democrats that back that, because they’re corrupt.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Why does John Kasich voting for Biden make him corrupt? Not asking you to agree with his choice but do you think he’s getting paid for it?

      • pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

I’ve seen a few that have been voted out or retired say they were voting democrat. Have seen any sitting representatives say that. Could have missed one though. They all have one thing in common…they are part of the DC political establishment.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Phelon — a whole lot more than a few. Lincoln Project is out there bashing Trump better than Biden does…… and they are hardcore conservative GOP folks. And no the sitting folks don’t do that, but Romney and Murkowski did. When’s the last time saw sitting Senator’s say might not vote for their party’s candidate?

  97. pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

Steve – No difference between democrat and republican establishment.

  98. pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

Stanger – Kasich is a Never Trumper and part of the clique. I don’t hear him condemning anything going on either. To appropriate a phrase – Political Silence is Violence.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Ever heard of NeverReagan or NeverBush? Sorta of my point. But Trump did a takeover of the GOP. If he doesn’t win in November gonna be interesting to see what happens. Whole thing could break apart.
