So here comes Week 3 already, and it’s a short week for us Dolphins fans. Here we are at 0-2. Game 1 we didn’t really compete. Game 2 we were in it till the last minute, but in both games there was one clear message. This defense just isn’t in sync yet. Flores says it’s communication issues which in many ways is understandable. We all knew so many new faces getting thrown together is a tough situation, especially when you compound that with less practice time, and no preseason games. It’s easy to get frustrated watching them, considering all the money we spent in free agency on the defensive side of the ball, Kyle Van Noy, Shaq Lawson, Emannuel Ogbah etc. We didn’t stop in free agency either, with our third pick in the first round of the 2020 draft we selected Auburn DB Noah Igbinoghene. We continued with defense in RD 2 with DL Raekwon Davis from Alabama, and in RD 3 we selected S Brandon Jones from Texas. We continued to fortify the DL with Jason Strowbridge and Curtis Weaver in RD 5, but as we have well documented here, Weaver is gone. In any case, it’s clear we needed to work on the defense, but the early returns are not promising.
It’s funny, these 2 teams at this moment in time are 2 teams that are quite different as far as outlooks are concerned. Everyone was sure the Jaguars were looking to draft Trevor Lawrence in 2021 and threw in the towel. Now, in some ways they’re the talk of the town as a high-flying exciting team. They’re 1-1 and are +4 in points scored/points allowed. The Dolphins are 0-2 and are -13. Gone are Yannick Ngakoue and Leonard Fournette and yet this team has the arrow pointing up. Our Dolphins? This game will say a lot in that regard. After a tough loss to the Bills in which this team competed well, the arrow is slightly up, but a loss to the Jags and an 0-3 record will change that. Hard to say game 3 is a pivotal game because it’s still early, but a loss tonight, especially a bad loss could be bad for this team.
Byron Jones is apparently playing, but of course, how long and how effective he is we have no idea. I’d bet Iggy Mahogany is getting lots of reps outside to be ready. Not sure how correct Ourlads depth chart is but it shows 3rd RD draft pick Brandon Jones at SS with Bobby Mac at FS. I guess Jones is going to get his shot. I thought our depth and our strength was our secondary. Byron Jones, Xavien Howard and Noah Igbinoghne. Bobby Mac at safety again with Eric Rowe, and then all those guys as depth like Brandon Jones, Clayton Fejedelem and Kavon Frazier. So far, we haven’t been able to find the right mix, and our lack of offense has made it tougher on the defense.
As far as the offense is concerned, it’s been odd so far. We picked up Jordan Howard and in the draft when we were all getting quite upset at the fact that we ignored the RB position, the trade for Matt Breida soothed us. Well, after 2 games, Howard and Breida have 25 carries combined and Breida has 2 receptions. It’s been last year’s 7th RD pick that has received more playing time and nearly double the touches of either Howard or Breida. He’s done well in that role, and that’s the important thing. I’d rather a coach play the guy that gets it done over the guy who cost more or was drafted higher, but it’s surprising nonetheless.
What’s been great so far is watching the rise of TE Mike Gesicki. He really came on towards the middle of last season and this season has continued that rise. After 2 games this season Gesicki has 11 receptions for 160 yards and 1 TD. WR Isaiah Ford is getting it done as well, and unfortunately, the nagging injuries have once again found Devante Parker. He’s in the lineup so give him that, but he’s hampered for sure. Preston Williams has the shine dull a bit as he hasn’t been a big part of the offense at all, but he is coming back from and ACL tear. Jakeem Grant hasn’t really been involved and Lynn Bowden has yet to be active, something that will continue for a while until he’s learned enough to hit the field.
Have you noticed that I’m 6 paragraphs in and I HAVEN’T MENTIONED THE O-LINE? It’s amazing, but this is one unit that is moving in the right direction. It’s a pleasure not to feel the need to ridicule this unit, and although they aren’t a top unit, they aren’t keeping the team from accomplishing what they want on offense. Thankfully, holding calls aren’t being called like they have in previous seasons, they’re letting it go somewhat to keep the game flowing, and I’m enjoying it. Austin Jackson, Ereck Flowers, Ted Karras, Solomon Kindley and Jesse Davis. All of them have played every snap to their credit. Pretty impressive I’d say. You have to be pleased knowing they aren’t the problem. I said it, the O-line isn’t a problem. Feels good.
So is it really Ryan Fitzpatrick vs Garner Minshew? Hardly. James Robinson (undrafted) has been a big part of the offense, and Gardenr Minshew has played well throwing 6 TD’s with only 2 INT’s. Fitz has 2 TD’s and 3 INT’s but one of those INT’s was the garbage no-call PI at the end of the game by the Patriots. Still, Minshew is putting points on the board and not turning it over. I don’t really know what to expect tonight, will it be a shootout or a conservative close to the vest affair? Will we see more of Jordan Howard, or will Myles Gaskin be the bellcow? Well, the debate was a disgrace. They need a freaking referee, and they need to punish a candidate that doesn’t follow the rules and continues to interrupt. It was maddening. Embarrassing. Seriously, if you’re warned and you talk over the other candidate you should lose the ability to respond to the next question and it should continue to happen if you continue to do so. I wanted to strangle Trump last night, WTF!!! Then you have CBS after the debate with these disgusted looks on their face and make it like that was Trump’s strategy to not let Joe talk. OMG! Trump is a fucking 8 year old child, he has no strategy and couldn’t adhere to one if that meant controlling himself in order to do so. Everything about that debate was disappointing, there was no substance at all. I hope they can lay some stronger ground rules for the next one so we don’t all waste our time watching that garbage. I know firmly that I don’t want to vote for either candidate.

What’s interesting to me, Mike E., is why you are just now seeing and acknowledging what some of have seen for many years, well beyond his political run. I am not dissing you, it’s a true effort to try and understand why people support him and his schtick.

My big takeaways from the first presidential debate:
1) If you came into this debate heavily favoring one candidate you probably favor them now even more. But if you came into this debate undecided, you’d probably prefer not to have to decide.
2) Neither candidate made much of an appeal to undecided voters, as much as they checked the boxes of spite for the other each of their most ardent supporters would prefer. 
3) Trump missed numerous opportunities to better articulate his record, as well as hit Biden on issues people care about. And Hunter Biden isn’t one of them. That is a separate potential criminal issue that most voters don’t care about. Trump should’ve let Biden talk more, but kept letting him off the hook by not forcing the dementia to the forefront.
4)  Biden hurt his case that he’s the adult in the room, the steady hand, and the man to return America to normalcy and decency. He took the bait from Trump, and instead of rising above the trolling as a lot of undecided voters would prefer, he went the Young Turks route. He called Trump a clown, a racist, a liar, and the worst president we’ve ever had all in the same debate. He already has all the votes of partisans that wanted to see him do that, but what about the suburban voters that don’t?
5) I typically think that complaining about biased debate moderators as a conservative is a cliché. Media bias is just baked into the cake of this process, and part of your job as the Republican nominee is to learn how to overcome it. For you will have to in order to win the election, and then govern after you win. That being said though, Chris Wallace was even worse than I thought he was going to be. He was both biased and unprofessional and ineffective. Other than that, he has a wonderful singing voice.
6) Trump clearly believed that pestering and antagonizing Biden would cause a dementia provoked meltdown. The exact opposite was the case. By challenging Biden head on and often personally, the testosterone kicks in as does the adrenaline Where Biden has been mentally faltering is when he has to give specifics on public policy. By making most of tonight about pugilism instead of policy, Trump helped Biden’s dementia to stay mostly hidden.
7) Voters received an honest appraisal of who these two men are. Trump is just unnecessarily unlikable at times, and makes it hard to take yes for an answer even when you want to give it to him. On the other hand, Biden is a man obviously well past his prime, who is still promising to fix the same problems he didn’t fix for the past 47 years with the same failed solutions.
Tonight sent voters a message they may not have wanted to hear. You’re not going to get any better from these two men than what you already know. They’re both almost 80 and finished products. So it really comes down to this: you have to decide if what you don’t like about Donald Trump is worth turning the country over to communists or not?
That’s it, nothing more and nothing less. There’s nothing more aspirational taking place than that — mere survival. I wish that wasn’t the case, but it is what it is.

If you’re going to try and say I can’t do that, I see so many Democrats who can’t stand Joe Biden and wanted Bernie Sanders to win Riden with Biden because he’s their party’s candidate. I admittedly don’t know much about the Proud Boys and why they are a white supremacist group, but Trump certainly fumbled that answer. Should have simply condemned white supremacist groups in general. On the other extreme, Biden should have just condemned Antifa instead of trying to say they aren’t really a movement.
Proud Boys is a very racist group that was behind some recent shootings of law enforcement officers and while Biden did say that Antifa is more of an idea than organization Biden did condemn political violence by left wing radicals but did not specify any particular group

Paris Climate Accord was a sham from the start, all it was, was an agreement that each country write down what they were going to do to help the climate. The Left does not support rioters and looters. Huh? Then why was democratic VP nominee Kamala Harris soliciting funds via twitter to post bail for rioters and looters. Money raised was even used to post bail for rioters using fire arms.

MFF usually raises $100,000 per year to assist people with posting bond. After Kamala Harris got involved to help the rioters and looters get back on the street, in a matter of days, they managed to raise 35 MILLION dollars to keep these MFer’s on the street to include some MF shooting at the police.

The birth certificate that popped up for Obama was written in a computer font that didn’t exist back when he was born, but, because he was a lefty politician they swept that under the rug.
We’ll never know the real birther answer, but there sure is a lot of evidence to at least debate where he was born. Some document they created for him doesn’t cut it for me.

I wasn’t debating its authenticity, I was debating why he said it, and as you above said, doing something like this doesn’t remove things he’s done. I think calling it racism is a dog whistle like most racism claims today. Obama’s dad was a Kenyan and not a citizen. While Trump fell for that for years or just liked spreading it, it isn’t racism to ask about that. Schwarzenegger. tried for years to have that rule changed for presidential runs, McCain was asked about his citizenship. Anyone not born in a US area is not a citizen, no matter what they look like. It’s obvious Obama was a citizen because of Hawaii birth records but if Trump believed Obama was born outside the US, it’s a valid question. I don’t know why Trump believed it but I dismissed him for years over the stupidity.
I’m not going to speak for you or your positions but, while I dislike Trump the person, I love Trump’s policies and none of the racism claims since 2015 are the least bit true. It’s shameful to push lies so hard. I fully support a huge border wall, not because I’m racist but because I care about our citizens, no matter their color. I’m a huge proponent of term limits, bringing back manufacturing and jobs. The last two are, at least vocally, Trump positions. I think climate change is BS and so is the New Green Deal, much like Obama’s failed ‘climate’ initiates. There’s more I support but I’ll stop there.
I understand your hate for Trump but do you support current Dem ideas? All the communism they push? The Antifa support? Defunding the police? You may think that’s an outlier opinion but it isn’t. People ran and won on those positions and state leadership allowed that stuff to happen in multiple areas. Trump has at most 4 more years.
