The Bye Week Bi-Babe

It’s that time of year (four weeks earlier than originally planned) to announce this years winner of the coveted Bye Week Bi-Babe selection. As usual the voting was very close. As you know candidates are judged by an assortment of available quotes, sexy pics and who has a chance at you guys liking, it isn’t easy. So here she is…

This years winner –

Aubrey Plaza

Congratulations, Ms Plaza. She looks completely thrilled, doesn’t she?

“I know I have an androgynous thing going on, and there’s something masculine about my energy,” Plaza said in an interview with the Advocate. “Girls are into me – that’s no secret. Hey, I’m into them too. I fall in love with girls and guys. I can’t help it.”

We’re honored to have Ms Plaza recognized as this year’s Bi-Babe as the Miami Dolphins move to a new beginning of sorts with this upcoming game featuring Tua Tagovailoa.

It’s Tua Time!

I would love to see a female President
    ____________________________________________

    you will, Ivanka Trump 2024!

  2. D says:

Reps have had a few decent female options for president, but as usual the party picks who they want and they never make it to the big day. Im hoping that changes too, id love to see a female presidential option from the conservative side.

  3. Randy says:

    Top,
Isn’t that exactly what Trump is trying to do with throwing mud at Biden and his son? Misdirection? Don’t look at how horrible of a President I’ve been….look at how this other guy’s son made millions of dollars…all while ignoring the fact that I’ve made 10 times more off my Presidency than any Biden has. I don’t argue that they are all corrupt….I’m just amazed at how Trump’s supporters can willfully ignore his corruption while throwing stones at others. They all do it! Trump seems to have just convinced his supporters that it’s okay if he does it as long as they get an extra $20 on their tax return. Lol

    • TOP SECRET says:

yeah, TRUMP made the crack smoking hunter drop off his laptop and forget to pick it up……. it;s TRUMPs fault………..lol.

      • stangerx says:

Did you know that Rudy, Bannon and assorted others on team Trump wanted to break the laptop news with the Wall Street Journal? That’s owned by Rupert Murdoch, who also owns Fox News. They were provided a bunch of info and looked into it….and said doesn’t make Hunter look good but nothing to tie Joe Biden. These are serious conservative reporters.

Then they went with the NY Post…. where even the guy who wrote most of the article didn’t want his name on it.

  4. D says:

You never hear about the other guys, but apparently the libetarian candidate is female, ill have to see what he views are and see if she is not just a wolf in sheeps clothing, but maybe thats who i vote for

    • herdfan says:

Jo Jorgensen, My son who is 16, that’s his candidate, has gone to a rally and all that. If he could vote, that’s who he’d be voting for.

    • D says:

Tim i know your a self described Libetarian, or at least thats your closest affiliation, have you seen or hear if her policies generally align with the party defined stances?

      • Tim Knight says:

She’s classic libertarian on most issues. That’s why Libertarians don’t fair well these days because they would roll back so many social programs that people have become accustomed to for so many decades.

  5. ocalarob says:

it’s funny how the clueless double standard left toss accusations around with out a shred of proof.

  6. stangerx says:

    Happy Happy Herd!

    • D says:

Yeah had heard he was on the way out. He is a great player, but im not sure how much is left in that tank. For the hawks, thats a good move to make a strong push for the SuperBowl but i dont know if he, or any other vet, would be good for us. I like the idea of Watt but mostly for me its for culture, ie work ethic, playing full out, etc that i think he could help with our changes we are trying to make there. Its not always about the benefit of the player to the team on the field, sometimes it goes a little deeper.

  7. The Flying Pig says:

    If Biden wins next week

I’m going to be such a jerk to all of you
I’m not even going to hide it
    I’m not going to pretend I won’t
Try to imagine what farting and laughing at the same time sounds like
I like you all – but some of you’ve earned it…
And it’s just politics when it’s said and done so I hope people don’t take it personal

If it goes the other way around (I can’t even say it)
I kind of expect the same
    When I’m done squealing/crying
    I’ll probably take a sabbatical….
But I’ll deal with it and probably won’t be such a critic going forward, at least Not here
And I’ll let you guys enjoy it without pissing on your parade about how much I hate Trump

I’m well aware it can go either way
    Nothing will surprise me
I am just a believer in fighting the fight

But – If we are arguing about who actually won
That is a headache I don’t want to think about

Please don’t pull me into that a argument
If I mention something that sounds like questioning “who actually won” please remind me of this post

And if some of you want to commit to the same…I support it….lol

  8. Rockphin says:

    October 28, 2020 at 4:35 pm (Edit)

Do you know if she is pretty close to the cuff on the typical Libetarian party’s stances?

I should know more than I do about them, but I don’t. I’m not a fan of the two party system, why couldn’t she have been included in the debates? Then we’d all know the answer to your question. As it is, most voters don’t know.

The problem we have, even if a 3rd party candidate could get elected, they would be blocked at every turn by both democrats and republicans in the house and senate to get anything accomplished. So many vote the party line, it’s impossible. This country of ours has really painted itself into a corner politically.

  10. herdfan says:

No matter the outcome of the election next week, no gloating from me. I don’t think there are any winners in this thing.

  11. Randy says:

Libertarianism is a great philosophy, but it’s not realistic. It doesn’t work in practice.

    • Tim Knight says:

It once was realistic but government has gotten so damn big it’s now just a pipe dream. Just look at what people think government should do for them. Libertarians would give them more freedom in so many walks of life but they’d also be on their own.

  12. Randy says:

I agree with Herd. None of us are winners in this scenario. But, as I’ve said a bunch, I think we get what we deserve in our politicians.

    • stangerx says:

Just hope our next Pres whoever it is tries to unite the country . Way it has always been — fight like hell at election time and then come together till next time around.

      • Tim Knight says:

        I’m afraid that’s long gone.

      • stangerx says:

You could be right but am more optimistic than you. Worked through 8 years of GW Bush and then 8 more of Obama………… why not again.

      • steveccnv says:

It won’t work, because the left won’t allow it. The party not in office has always been the one to be disruptive.

  13. Randy says:

    Tim,
I actually describe myself as a libertarian. I want government to leave me the fuck alone! Unfortunately, as you said, our World just doesn’t work that way anymore. Libertarian ideals give individuals more freedoms, but they also make us more individually responsible….and nobody wants that these days. Lol

  14. herdfan says:

    Randy says:

Libertarianism is a great philosophy, but it’s not realistic. It doesn’t work in practice.

I’m not sure what we have now is something we could label as ‘working’.

  15. Tim Knight says:

Stanger, I just think people are so divided over politics I can’t see it becoming more cordial like it once was. Remember, I’m known as Mr. Positive around here but not about this. LOL

  16. Randy says:

    Herd,
Good point! We just need a woman to come in and fix everything! But, evidently, she’s gotta be hot too. Lol

    • Tim Knight says:

And if that woman is a Republican her adversaries will refer to as a right-wing bitch and if she’s a Democrat she’ll be referred to as a left-wing bitch. Yay!!!!

    —————
I do that all the time

  18. Tim Knight says:

Why would we want to trade X? The guy is balling and part of the reason we’ve been winning of late.

    • Rockphin says:

The only reason I could think of is if they see him in practice every day and know his knees are going.

I think the most likely thing to have happened was some team called the Dolphins to see if they would trade him, not that we were shopping him. UNLESS they are concerned about the viability of his knees.

      • Tim Knight says:

He definitely has had a knee or knees issue not sure if it’s both knees, but he looks good out there right now.

  19. Mike E. says:

it’s going to take over a month after Nov 3. Just watch. It may even take 2 months if it’s really close. If it’s a landslide we’ll be done in a week or so after and the only landslide I see is a huge blowback against Trump with Biden winning big

  20. Mike E. says:

If Biden wins I’m moving to Australia! (Doesn’t that sound fucking ridiculous?)

    • Tim Knight says:

It’s so petty and I believe it’s also cowardly like I’m taking my ball and going home. In this case you’re leaving your country because your candidate lost and you won’t stay and fight for what you think is right. I’m not sure what I’ll do if Bruce Springsteen moves to Australia because the funny thing is, I don’t know where he lives now. LOL

      • Mike E. says:

I think he lives in Colts Neck which is pretty close to me. I’m sure he has houses in a 100 different places though

      • pheloniusphish says:

Admitted that he took LSD before going for his physical after being drafted. Was DQ’ed. Wrote Born in The USA because he felt guilty.

      • Tim Knight says:

I’m sure he does or he could if he wants.

His career really took off with Born in The USA which was about how poorly Vietnam Vets were treated when they came home. Who were the people treating them poorly? Anti-war radical leftists calling them baby killers, and the entire government for not taking care of them properly when they needed all types of care. Vietnam was the only war we’ve lost, and we treated our vets like losers. Very sad time and it was a bi-partisan failure in our government.

So where I agree with Bruce on this song even though I’m not a fan of his music, he’s also hypocritical with his political views. This song that gave him so much success was largely because his fans viewed it as a USA rally song, and he fed that with the fist pumps accenting The USA Rules!!! type of antics in concert. That is pretty much what a lot of Democrats are these days. Elitist limousine liberals who live one way and speak of another way. It’s something I’ve seen and followed for decades now.

You can say the Republicans have their issues and you don’t agree with them, I agree, but we know what they are. The elitists are wolves in sheep’s clothing. They subvert young people. Most of them speak as progressives. Not sure how anyone can deny that.

At the end of the day, The USA will continue.

  21. Rockphin says:

Even when the Dolphins tore into the SS for misreporting about the Howard trade, they didn’t deny that there had been talks. They were just “Factually Inaccurate” What part is inaccurate? We don’t know.

  22. Mike E. says:

    WTF is this?

  23. CavalierKong says:

    https://www.si.com/nfl/dolphins/news/miami-dolphins-first-week-8-injury-report-and-what-it-means

“The good news involved all four players who left their last game against the New York Jets before their bye being at practice, although two of the four were limited.”

“Those two are defensive tackle Raekwon Davis (shoulder) and wide receiver DeVante Parker (groin). Parker clearly is the more important of the two given his role on offense, so his situation will bear monitoring throughout the week.”

“The other two players injured against the Jets were full participants Wednesday: linebackers Kamu Grugier-Hill (hand) and Andrew Van Ginkel (concussion).”

    • CavalierKong says:

“Three other players were limited Wednesday, including Kyle Van Noy, who missed the Jets game because of groin and foot injuries. He’s now listed with only a foot injury. The other limited participants were safety Bobby McCain (ankle) and tight end Adam Shaheen (shoulder).”

    • Tim Knight says:

Maybe the bye did come at the right time. 🙂

  24. CavalierKong says:

I really want to see Parker on Ramsey.

  25. CavalierKong says:

    • CavalierKong says:

We all knew that would happen. Fitz is a great teammate.

    • Tim Knight says:

That doesn’t surprise me. His feelings were hurt, we all know that, but I think that was more about where he’s at in his career. He’s always known we drafted Tua at #5 this year. Now he’s accepting his role. Not like he’s never done that before. 😉

  26. The Flying Pig says:

  28. olddolphan says:

TURNED OFF last night’s 6th and final game of the 2020 World Series at the end of the 5th inning with the Rays leading 1-0. When Arozarena came up with two on and two out in the bottom of the 3rd, I said to myself “If he homers like he did in the 1st inning, this game will be 4-0, Rays. The way Blake Snell’s pitching tonight, 4 runs should be enough to win tonight.”

Well, he didn’t and they didn’t. Thus, I wasn’t too surprised when I got up to pee about 3:30 AM and discovered the Dodgers had won 3-1. Bravo for them.

A few hours later I learned about the Justin Turner situation. Seems as tho’ Mr. Turner was given a covid test last night. He was told he flunked the test and was ordered (after initially refusing) to leave the game NOW by the commissioner’s office! A substitute took his place in the 8th inning. He was ORDERED into a lockdown, per MLB’s protocol with the player’s union. However, Turner somehow left the securfe area to join his team mates when they celebrated the winning of the World Series! He proudly held the trophy, hugging his fellow players and kissing his non-covid wife!
Then he sat down by manager Dave Roberts (a recent cancer survivor) and had his picture taken!

Thanks to Justin Turner, the “Victory Parade” in Los Angeles has no chance of happening for A LONG TIME. And it is not now known how many people surrounding this “Super Spreader” situation will actually come down with the VIRUS. But it seems almost certain that SOME people will be impacted by his extremely foolish and selfish antics.

PER THE CBA, the commisioner has opened a full investigation of the details of this despicable act. As many of you know, decades ago, when the Commissioner’s job was created by congress, our government gave the commissioner free reign to act as he, and he alone, sees fit IF HE FEELS HIS ACTIONS are in the best interests of baseball! A classic example of this was commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis’ LIFETIME BAN of all the White Sox scandal participants in the fixing of the 1919 World Series, even though a court of law found all of them innocent (later, the vast majority of these guys, including Shoeless Joe Jackson, were scorned by baseball historians for their role in this awful situation that besmirched baseball’s integrity for decades.) THERE IS NO LEGAL APPEAL to a decision by the commissioner on issues like this!

I, for one, hope Rob Manfred brings down the HAMMER on this selfish idiot named Justin Turner!! —A 2-year ban from all MLB baseball activities would be a good start, including forfeiting of his salary. IF it turns out that several people caught the covid from this creep, Manfred would be totally within his rights to increase Turner’s penalties as the number of persons he infected climbs to higher levels.

    ————————-
And don’t give me that “Boys will be boys bullshit” on this one!! Manfred, and all of baseball, needs to tell these ball players that needlessly exposing innocent people to a deadly disease WILL HAVE MASSIVE, MAJOR, consequences, even if no one dies from their unwanted contact with this idiot. A co-worker asked me “What would you do if this guy infected your wife and she died from it?” I replied, “You’ve known me for many years, haven’t you?” –“YES,” he replied. “Then you already know what my response would be, don’t you?”–“Yes,” he replied.

  29. Tim Knight says:

Kong, really was the word that hangs that slider. LOL

  30. Tim Knight says:

I think sometimes we forget that we found a gem in Preston Williams. Not only does he have blue chip talent, but with his history of some off the field problems – it seems that someone got to him and said hey man; you have an opportunity that not many people get, and he’s rolling with that. Kind of an underrated story in Miami.

    • Rockphin says:

WOOOOO HOOOOOO THE UNICORN! GO WILLIAMS!!

    • CavalierKong says:

So in my head, when I was talking about Parker/Ramsey, I was thinking a healthy Parker may give Ramsey trouble, but if Parker doesn’t play Ramsey moves over to Williams, and I think he shuts him down. Williams probably doesn’t have the savvy yet to handle a top CB like Ramsey. So that would be losing our top 2 WR. LOL, I should have just written it out.

      • steveccnv says:

I’ve seen Ramsey play 3 times this year, I haven’t exactly locked in on him, but he hasn’t been all that, from what I’ve noticed.

      • Tim Knight says:

Preston Williams is a big dude with good speed for his size. I’m sure he’s still trying to get back to top form, but he’s been productive. I think the bye helps him a lot. He has natural receiving skills. It’s not just about his size/speed ratio. He’s a good WR trending upwards.

Not many teams have corners who can match up against both Parker and Williams when they’re on their game. They’re also not the only weapons we have.

This Rams game will be a good barometer of where we are. I’m looking forward to it. Go Tua!!!! take the reins and run with it!!!

  31. Tim Knight says:

OD, I heard Stephen Ross is a HUGE Justin Turner fan.

  32. steveccnv says:

This dem talk about packing the court is BS. The reasoning is the Republicans hurried thru ACB, and wouldn’t confirm Obama’s. The standard is in an election year, if you control the Senate, then the nominee goes thru, if not not…you guys know this part.

For the purposes of in the last year of a presidency, it goes 2.5 months past the election, so what’s the difference, if the nominee got put in, in December, that wouldn’t be rushed thru?

  33. steveccnv says:

Trevor Lawrence a Jr, has said he’s going to the NFL after this season, but left it open to stay at Clemson.

Would he actually stay, if the jets had the top pick?

    Glad I never did that!

    • Tim Knight says:

Mike, we’ve all served up hanging sliders over the years, you just happened to fall into the Ralph Branca pit of yikes. LOL

That said, you’ve always been a good sport about it. Not many are willing to do that. Props!!!

  38. Randy says:

So, let me get this straight, they had “damning” evidence on Biden, and they disappeared? And, we’re now supposed to believe that they never made copies of these extremely damning documents? LMAO. Good old Sleepy Joe is actually a fucking ninja! Lol
    ***
How did Ninja Joe know they’d requested those damning documents be mailed? How did he know which carrier they’d called? How did they know which package of the thousands in those places was the right package? How did he steal them without anyone seeing and why did he rip open the package and take those documents and not just take the whole damn package? Fear not intrepid viewers. Tune in next week to see how Ninja Joe got away with it all! Lol

I thought this is supposed to be a football site devoted to the Miami Dolphins. I personally dont give a flying rats ass who you vote for… Just get along… Its been 20 freaking years since we were a relavent football team… and just as we begin to become something… Its like a bunch of grumpy old men have taken this site over… I know you are all better than this.

Must we all bash each other over our beliefs… Those beliefs are our rights… This country is still the land of the free… I have no problem letting you believe that you are right. Just get out of my face with it.

Please, we have our #1 draft pick starting his first game,,, What the hell… Its just another election.. There will be more… Come on, I started following when this was just the Sun Sentinel blog group… Then you split, and I still followed, then you split again… which was sad… you are better… Pull yourselves together, not apart. It pains me to see men… that have a true love of something good… lose focus… this exact thing happen before… and we lost a lot of good dolphin fans… why… ideology… I hope in your hearts you miss them… I do.

To Hell with Tuesday.. it aint football… life goes on… This Tua shall pass!

We are The Dolphins Heart and Soul… Have been our whole lives… This is a moment for us few to really have something wonderful… dont piss on this fire… for some, it could be our Last One!

My apologies to all, Respect for you all very much! For the love of the game, please lets talk about the GOOD stuff, LIfe is just too short not to.

We all will get through this election either way… There are matters of great urgency that need to be attended to, but let those issues find another avenue, not here… This should become our Refuge, Our home when the world pisses on our doorstep. We are family… in a very weird way!

Go Dolphins… and may we make our Fathers proud… God Bless our United States.

Detroit then went down and scored a game winning touchdown.

We needed something to inject anything into our running game. The easiest way to get a rookie QB acclimated into the NFL is with his feet. The RPO can accomplish those two plus help with the passing game. Lamar isn’t exactly an NFL passing QB, if his legs didn’t come into play he’d be on the bench.

With that said I expect Tua to be brought along through the RPO to neutralize Donald, then open things up as we go.

I still think the inconsistency of Fitz and the lack of running game is what brought on the QB change. Sure we average over a 100 yards a game, but Fitz scrambles have led to a good portion of that.

I was hoping he’d be back!

  54. steveccnv says:

Here’s what was said about Jackson after the injury:

Flores would not say whether Jackson will be able to return this season, but he indicated that he is looking for a “long-term replacement” for him, indicating his absence is expected to be longer than the three-week minimum injured-reserve stay. Jackson’s injury has caused significant ripples throughout the offensive line and the team.

  55. steveccnv says:

    From yesterday’s injury report

Rookie left tackle Austin Jackson was placed on injured reserve with a foot ailment earlier this month and will be eligible for activation later this week. That said, Jackson’s injury is reportedly going to keep him sidelined for a few more weeks. His exact timetable for return remains uncertain, so expect Jesse Davis to continue at left tackle for the time being, while rookie Robert Hunt continues to hold down the fort at right tackle.

really? you actually think i love football MORE than this country? you seem to have underestimated me and i’m very sorry to disappoint you on that matter. i’ve lived my whole adult life by this code :
    1.) god
    2.) country
    3.) corps
4.) all the perks that come with freedom.
so, football comes # 4 by my code. i sincerely hope you can understand.

“Go Dolphins… and may we make our Fathers proud… God Bless our United States.”

that’s exactly what i’m trying to do. 🙂

Days64 – Thanks for the post, but I think it’s important to consider that even after all these years and extremely different beliefs politically we’re still a group here. Sure, we’ve lost a few on the way, but in general we all respect and enjoy each other here which is probably a better sample than most of America these days. Football is the main focus here but I think just like any social media platform, anything goes and since this is such a heated time with the election days away, it’s going to be larger part of the discussion. I don’t think one iota less of anyone that has a different political viewpoint than my own, I respect Piggy, Ken, and Krishna the same I always have and they are my friends. Maybe that’s the better story here. In any case, a new article is coming shortly, I hope you enjoy it and perhaps there will be more football than politics. Just don’t bet on it! 😉

Let’s get past this election, of course there’s going to be plenty of talk Tuesday and on until a winner is decided, then we should try to follow one unwritten rule, the page turn moratorium on political posts (to rehash, no political posts the rest of the day a page turn occurs). This doesn’t have to be governed like a law, just don’t respond to them, if they do occur.

I never made any political posts on here before 2016, and it used to suck when the political posts would come in, so I know what Days is going thru. We’re likely never going to eliminate them all together, but following the page turn moratorium, that Piggy suggested, would make this a better place.

“Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of goods and services produced across the economy, surged by 33.1% on an annualized basis in the three-month period from July through September, the Commerce Department said in its first reading of the data Thursday. The previous post-World War II record was a 16.7% increase in 1950.”

Way to kick ass America 🇺🇸

      Keep it up 💪

    • steveccnv says:

Increases like that only happen after an event like covid or recession/depression, so it really needs to be put in perspective, on the other hand, if we didn’t get news like this we’d have a real mess on our hands. I would think capitalism/supply and demand itself is the driving factor.

      • stangerx says:

That was well said. If anything what the number says is what happens when you re-open the economy, which does give backing to Trump’s push to do that.

  65. pheloniusphish says:

I missed the page turn / politics rule. I’ll try to do better.

I really like the post from Days64. i will leave it at that except to say, that, to me it is not about what is more important in life, Football, or Country, or whatever….it is that this is a Dolphins blog in the middle of a season where we our biggest hope in brining us back to relevance is about to make his first start, and the conversation, honestly gets dragged down by politics.

Game day is my favorite time on here, because that is when it really feels like a “family”. The political talk, to me, is devisive and serves no purpose..IMO.

    Sorry, I guess,I didn’t just “leave it at that”..LOL

  68. The Flying Pig says:

I agree with Steve on the page turn moratorium
    Let’s try it again

We know we are all only human/porcine
So we will digress as it goes along

But it’s worth trying to shave it down a little

I really appreciate Days giving us his point of view
And it’s something to be cognizant of – some people just want this to be escapism

Some times I just want this blog to be escapism

And we are on the verge of watching the next Dolphin Hall of famer start his first game😛 So there is 🏈 to discuss

As for my part I didn’t get any work I needed to done yesterday arguing with you jerks…lol

So I am going to try a one day moratorium from politics here and see how it shapes up without my oinks

When I do the aarticle for the bi-babe I search for “Bisexual stars”, and I swear the same skanks come up every year for the last five years. The pool is shallow, we need more chicks, especially relevant ones, to come out and share the love. Like some say they are bi but have never done anything about it and have been married to a guy for 15-20 years.

or a 1st and a STUD young pass rusher????????????

I might have to take it!

      • steveccnv says:

Why are we talking about X being traded again?

      • stangerx says:

Everybody has their sales price….everyone. And yeah I’d take a Tunsil for X. He’s real good…. but about years and money. Those 2 first rounders would be 4-5 years on the relative cheap.

      • stangerx says:

steve no serious news about it. I was joking and wyoming took it more serious in a hypothetical way. And at this point we at least do know there were feeler calls.

      • steveccnv says:

That seems to happen here a lot.

      • stangerx says:

Part of the fun of the place. Like sitting at a bar. I’m sure when the call(s) came into Davie about X they had the exact same discussion though.
