What a job these 4 guys have this weekend. Our X-Men, led by Xavien Howard, along with Byron Jones, Eric Rowe and Bobby McCain. This game goes way beyond just these 4 players but they will have their hands full this week with Patrick Mahomes throwing to WR Tyreek Hill, TE Travis Kelce, and to a lesser extent, WR’s Mecole Hardman and Sammy Watkins, as well as RB’s Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Le’Veon Bell. It’s going to take a monumental effort to keep this offense in check. The Chiefs come in as the 2nd ranked scoring offense at 30.8 PPG and #6 in scoring defense allowing only 21.2 PPG. The Chiefs have a +116 point differential. The teams that gave the Chiefs the most trouble were the Chargers, Bills, Bucs and Broncos, and of course their lone loss in a shootout with the LV Raiders. I consider that game the anomaly, and I think if we have a course to victory, it’s closer to the way the other teams played them.
This Week 14 game is one of the most exciting times for Dolphins fans in recent history. Yes, in 2016 were 7-5 coming off a demoralizing loss to the Baltimore Ravens (38-6) and we defeated the Arizona Cardinals 28-25 led by Carson Palmer. This is different, way different. I didn’t feel anything like I do now, having a legitimate confidence in our team. We relied on a strong running game with Jay Ajayi and play action from Ryan Tannehill (sound’s like Tennessee eh?) Both our offense and defense were less than midpack. This 2020 team is different. We have a young exciting defense who happens to be #2 in the NFL in points allowed at 17.7 PPG. Our offense is exactly 16th but I have more confidence in this group because it’s a more well rounded offense. If anything, our run game has been a supplement to our passing game. This is Tua’s biggest game as a starter and I feel like he will rise to the occasion. What a game this is, the excitement is tenable. Too bad we couldn’t fill up Hard Rock for this one, I would love to see a raucous stadium pulling for our guys.
This KC offense which is #1 in the NFL in yardage has evolved as most teams do during a season. In the first 6 games they really featured RB CEH (Clyde Edwards-Helaire), but more recently, his role has really been reduced. CEH has an average of 37.4 yards rushing and only 11.4 yards receiving over his last 5 games. For some contrast, CEH averaged 84.1 yards rushing and 29.5 yards receiving in the first 6 games. The one player who has benefited most from this is WR Tyreek Hill. Hill has seen high double digit targets most of the last 5 games and his numbers are astronomical. Hill has 640 yards receiving in the last 5 games which is good for 128 yards per game and he has 8 TD’s. That’s just outrageous. If only Tyreek Hill was all we had to worry about. Travis Kelce also has surged during the last 5 games while CEH has been scaled back. Kelce is right behind Tyreek Hill with 613 yards receiving over the last 5 which is good for 122.6 yards per game. Now as we know, things evolve, and if we look to just shut down Hill and Kelce, another person will emerge, and with CEH, Sammy Watkins, Mecole Hardman and even Le’Veon Bell, there are many candidates.
On defense, the Chiefs don’t excel in any one area but they do have a couple of very good players to watch out for. On the DL, Chris Jones is still getting it done with 5.5 sacks and in their secondary, the Honey Badger SS Tyrann Mathieu lurks with 5 INT’s along with FS Daniel Sorensen who has 3 INT’s. Mathieu plays very smart and Tua will have to be careful of him. The starting corners are Bashaud Breeland and Charvarius Ward.
I don’t have an injury report yet for Sunday other than a lot of our guys were limited in practice. Key guys to keep an eye on are LG Ereck Flowers who went out with an ankle sprain. Also, LB Kyle Van Noy has that bad hip along with LB Elandon Roberts who came out with a chest injury last week. Jesse Davis will likely fill in at LG and Solomon Kindley will man the RG spot next to RT Robert Hunt. Sam Eguavoen, Calvin Munson and Kamu Grugier-Hill will fill in for Roberts and Van Noy if they are unable to go. Tua is a go for this one and has apparently ditched the thumb brace. Matt Breida is on COVID-19 but still might be available, and Salvon Ahmed is still dealing with a bad shoulder. I’m not sure where DeAndre Washington is at with his hamstring, he did practice on a limited basis which is a good sign. Myles Gaskin appears to be 100% but he will need help in the backfield other than just Patrick Laird who garnered only 5 touches.
I think this is such an interesting game and my perspective on it changes often. Sometimes I think like we’re playing with house money in this one, we’re not expected to win by any of the experts so if we lose like 10 of the other 11 teams that played them did there’s no shame in that. Part of me wants to think that enough of that loser mentality, we belong here at 8-4 and they play in our house and you know what, our defense is the kind of defense that can match up well against them because we have the talent in the secondary to defend their guys. Our X-Men back there might just give Patrick Mahomes a tough day and if we can find a way to turn him over a couple of times and turn those into scores we can upset the Chiefs. It’s not silly talk either, it’s possible. If I’m being honest, the one thing that worries me is our offense. Will we be able to run the ball effectively and will Tua be up to the task of giant slaying on Sunday. He did it against Arizona which to me is the closest equivalent. He led the team back for the win in that game and maybe has to do that against the Chiefs. All I know is, I haven’t looked forward to a Week 14 Miami Dolphins game with such excitement and happiness since, well, I have no idea really . . .
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Sometimes the digging we do on this job becomes real interesting.
Dang again, the 500K residence she lives in is owned out right by her 25 yo boyfriend (the victim). He doesn’t have a rich mommy and daddy. He created his own wealth. Turns out her boyfriend is a youtube sensation with over 5.3 million subscribers (that is just one of his channels) and a net worth of over 5 million.
That explains how a dork with money can get a girl like that. This is him.

Page turn!
LOL, at Rock!
Great time to lose Van Noy and Roberts, smh.
OMG
They are talking about he Dolphins on TV
It’s a game where guys like Grugier-Hill, Munson and Eguavoen have to step up. That’s why you’re here. Hey Van Ginkel, we need some special today. 🙂
Yeah, they are going to have to dig deep.
Oh and Tua and the offense have to play big today. LOL
Holy crap, do we get the A broadcast team today? Romo/Nance?
Yep, must be a featured game today. Meanwhile we get Texans/Bears here..LOL
I feel your pain, we don’t even get a morning game on CBS here. That’s kind of like getting the Texans/Bears, lol.
LOL
Hate that we can’t go full strength against KC today. I’m not making excuses and don’t want to but it was a tough enough game at full strength. It’s going to take a great effort by all our guys and some guys are really going to have to step up and have a game to win this.
Any of you garden staters know if we can watch the game locally today?
We can here in the Nutmeg state
At least we know who the backups are
Remember last year when each week we were introduced to a knew DB
One of those was Nick Needham
We were an underdog going into this game at full strength. Now some subs have to step up and earn their keep. That’s it. I wonder if we flip to more of a 4-3 zone type defense today? We’ve been mostly a 3-4 man team this season. Or do we continue to play the way we play?
We don’t want to show them too much, we need to save it for when we see them in the AFC Championship game
Shhhhhh… I was trying be quiet. LOL
bummer about Van Noy. Task is now that much more difficult.
BBM: what an absolute dork. He will be in bankruptcy in less than 3 years
Probably
Bill Gates and Zuckerberg were absolute dorks too.
Dolphins/Chief game shown in the red areas. Heck yeah we are featured….. or maybe the Chiefs are. 🙂

Connecticut is a red state? LOL
Change is coming lol
I am surprised with the way Bill Cowher spits and slobbers when he talks that they don’t have him farther than 6′ apart from the others. Just wondering, lol.
he seems to have a lisp
over and under
Tua 199 yards ?
Over
^
Oddly enough — if he goes under 200 yards it is probably a close game.
would mean we can run the ball, we probably win that game
Would also mean weren’t getting garbage yards in a blow out.
Or really bad. 😦
ok here comes the moment of truth, how will we fare against an elite team?
Dolphins fined after Cincy game:
Hollins, Mack $4,412
Ogbah, Emmanuel
$10,500
Parker, DeVante
$10,500
Hollins, Mack
$4,412
Wilkins, Christian
$12,500
Ken, the mom, 45 yo, is very attractive and divorced. Doesn’t help me though. lol Doesn’t look like she is more than mid 30’s. She is a shorty and a mix of Ecuadorian and Philippine. I have been to Ecuador and Peru. I can see some of the Inca facial features in her.
Anyway, back to football!
Bad man lol
Let’s go Miami
No excuses.
Like the unis
Grant… AGAIN smmfh
Fucking Grant
Garbage Hands Grant
Shitty throw again
Grant didn’t think so
I mean
Come on…
Another drop by Grant
Throw was where it needed to be. Receivers need to catch that. Good ones anyway.
Why am I so nervous today? lol
NICE
Woop woop!
Woot!
The take away streak continues!!
Jones should protect that loaf of bread
I agree. That was dangerous. I guess he’s not used to getting picks. lol
LOL — Byron Jones finally got an INT and he couldn’t hold on to it.
Great play by Van Ginkle
Don’t sleep on him…
Wooohooo!!!
Go Dolphins!
Throw in a load of whites .. we got the ball !
19 straight games
🍺
Streak stays alive
Hey 19
we’ll see your Kelce and raise you a Shaheen
Throw a little screen to Grant give him a chance to make up for the drop
Nice play design to shaheed
We should spend all of the first two days of the draft defeating receivers
Holy fuck these guys can’t catch
Actually solid defense on Bowden
Sanders ?! Wtf
Damn
WTF
what? that sucks. Sanders was the ‘automatic’. Ok, here we go defense.
Thanks Nantz
We need WRs
Think we’ll need every point today.
Holy shit !!!
Is that a 40 yard loss…lol
Baker!!!!!
He wont outrun baker
4th and 42 lol
Guess Mahomes doesn’t have eyes in the back of his head. Wasn’t a DT back there…. was Baker.
Is Flores soon to give Tua the hook again? He’d better pick it up
They’ve been getting good pressure on Mahomes all game
Nice grab and throw
That’s throw to gesicki…
Grant caught one !!!!!
There’s Piggy’s short pass to Grant for redemption. 🙂
Print to Tua you finally threw me a ball I could catch
Don’t know why he felt the need to jump to catch it
Gesiki
Woo HOO!!!!! Touchdown DOLPHINS
🎶🎶🎶
And when you say Miami
🎶🎶🎶
Woohoo
💥🐬😁
Great play design
Highest scoring 1st 1/4 team ?! Kewl
OK, now go into the Dean Smith 4 corner stall the rest of the game
Spread was 7 — now the game is a pick’em
So glad we have the throwbacks today.
Hell yeah!!!!!
This is awesome
Woooooooooooohooooooooo
Fuck yeah!
That was the 4 corner stall at the end of the quarter
At this pace we win 28-0
Bowden keeps going. love it
We haven’t got much out of the trickery with Bowden so far
But I like it
Parker should have had that
Parker should have caught that one
Beer me
Got to high point it
He’s usually great at that
Grant was wide open over the middle there
my goodness he was so wide open
Wow that sucked
There’s the TD from OUTSIDE the red zone. Chiefs don’t play nearly as well when the field gets cramped inside the red zone.
How did Rowe not stop him?
Speed
Terrible defense by Tua
Can’t get the play… get the flag. LOL
Where’s Fitz?
I think on the bench
we need a good defensive series here.
Tua is missing open guys and some reads, but he will only learn by playing.
Coverage sack
Owe you a beer…… show up at the next Fest and get it. 🙂
YES. 3 and out. Beautiful
Horrible pass by Tua…
LOL
That 2nd sack was the pure definition of a coverage sack.
Great pass there 👍
I got to say
What I love most about this team under Flores is the low penalties
Contrast that to the Gase teams…
He under threw that
But Grant still should have caught it
Exactly
