What a job these 4 guys have this weekend. Our X-Men, led by Xavien Howard, along with Byron Jones, Eric Rowe and Bobby McCain. This game goes way beyond just these 4 players but they will have their hands full this week with Patrick Mahomes throwing to WR Tyreek Hill, TE Travis Kelce, and to a lesser extent, WR’s Mecole Hardman and Sammy Watkins, as well as RB’s Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Le’Veon Bell. It’s going to take a monumental effort to keep this offense in check. The Chiefs come in as the 2nd ranked scoring offense at 30.8 PPG and #6 in scoring defense allowing only 21.2 PPG. The Chiefs have a +116 point differential. The teams that gave the Chiefs the most trouble were the Chargers, Bills, Bucs and Broncos, and of course their lone loss in a shootout with the LV Raiders. I consider that game the anomaly, and I think if we have a course to victory, it’s closer to the way the other teams played them.
This Week 14 game is one of the most exciting times for Dolphins fans in recent history. Yes, in 2016 were 7-5 coming off a demoralizing loss to the Baltimore Ravens (38-6) and we defeated the Arizona Cardinals 28-25 led by Carson Palmer. This is different, way different. I didn’t feel anything like I do now, having a legitimate confidence in our team. We relied on a strong running game with Jay Ajayi and play action from Ryan Tannehill (sound’s like Tennessee eh?) Both our offense and defense were less than midpack. This 2020 team is different. We have a young exciting defense who happens to be #2 in the NFL in points allowed at 17.7 PPG. Our offense is exactly 16th but I have more confidence in this group because it’s a more well rounded offense. If anything, our run game has been a supplement to our passing game. This is Tua’s biggest game as a starter and I feel like he will rise to the occasion. What a game this is, the excitement is tenable. Too bad we couldn’t fill up Hard Rock for this one, I would love to see a raucous stadium pulling for our guys.
This KC offense which is #1 in the NFL in yardage has evolved as most teams do during a season. In the first 6 games they really featured RB CEH (Clyde Edwards-Helaire), but more recently, his role has really been reduced. CEH has an average of 37.4 yards rushing and only 11.4 yards receiving over his last 5 games. For some contrast, CEH averaged 84.1 yards rushing and 29.5 yards receiving in the first 6 games. The one player who has benefited most from this is WR Tyreek Hill. Hill has seen high double digit targets most of the last 5 games and his numbers are astronomical. Hill has 640 yards receiving in the last 5 games which is good for 128 yards per game and he has 8 TD’s. That’s just outrageous. If only Tyreek Hill was all we had to worry about. Travis Kelce also has surged during the last 5 games while CEH has been scaled back. Kelce is right behind Tyreek Hill with 613 yards receiving over the last 5 which is good for 122.6 yards per game. Now as we know, things evolve, and if we look to just shut down Hill and Kelce, another person will emerge, and with CEH, Sammy Watkins, Mecole Hardman and even Le’Veon Bell, there are many candidates.
On defense, the Chiefs don’t excel in any one area but they do have a couple of very good players to watch out for. On the DL, Chris Jones is still getting it done with 5.5 sacks and in their secondary, the Honey Badger SS Tyrann Mathieu lurks with 5 INT’s along with FS Daniel Sorensen who has 3 INT’s. Mathieu plays very smart and Tua will have to be careful of him. The starting corners are Bashaud Breeland and Charvarius Ward.
I don’t have an injury report yet for Sunday other than a lot of our guys were limited in practice. Key guys to keep an eye on are LG Ereck Flowers who went out with an ankle sprain. Also, LB Kyle Van Noy has that bad hip along with LB Elandon Roberts who came out with a chest injury last week. Jesse Davis will likely fill in at LG and Solomon Kindley will man the RG spot next to RT Robert Hunt. Sam Eguavoen, Calvin Munson and Kamu Grugier-Hill will fill in for Roberts and Van Noy if they are unable to go. Tua is a go for this one and has apparently ditched the thumb brace. Matt Breida is on COVID-19 but still might be available, and Salvon Ahmed is still dealing with a bad shoulder. I’m not sure where DeAndre Washington is at with his hamstring, he did practice on a limited basis which is a good sign. Myles Gaskin appears to be 100% but he will need help in the backfield other than just Patrick Laird who garnered only 5 touches.
I think this is such an interesting game and my perspective on it changes often. Sometimes I think like we’re playing with house money in this one, we’re not expected to win by any of the experts so if we lose like 10 of the other 11 teams that played them did there’s no shame in that. Part of me wants to think that enough of that loser mentality, we belong here at 8-4 and they play in our house and you know what, our defense is the kind of defense that can match up well against them because we have the talent in the secondary to defend their guys. Our X-Men back there might just give Patrick Mahomes a tough day and if we can find a way to turn him over a couple of times and turn those into scores we can upset the Chiefs. It’s not silly talk either, it’s possible. If I’m being honest, the one thing that worries me is our offense. Will we be able to run the ball effectively and will Tua be up to the task of giant slaying on Sunday. He did it against Arizona which to me is the closest equivalent. He led the team back for the win in that game and maybe has to do that against the Chiefs. All I know is, I haven’t looked forward to a Week 14 Miami Dolphins game with such excitement and happiness since, well, I have no idea really . . .
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Please please please punt
Shit
Fu&@
Oh well
Couldn’t they have challenged the pick play?
I don’t think you can challenge a non all
Non-call
Still a chance
I love that Tua brought them back and made a game of it
Is there such thing as an encouraging loss?
Just realized my phone autocorrects Gesicki lol
He can miss this.
Now we need to block the kick
A missed kick gives us 1:10 left
Damnit
Screen pass for TD
Then an onside
Lol
The missed Sanders FG really hurts now.
Tua made a game of this in the 4th without his WRs and RBs
He’s still making a game of it
Smart coaching decision
Perfect strategy
Let’s get the onside
Now it’s over
Great effort against a Great team with a lot of weapons not playing… was a good game
Good fight
Let’s hope we are healthier by next week
Really proud of this team. Tua keeps growing. Now on to beating the Pats and Raiders.
Rest of day is cheering ‘against’ other teams. Not as much fun as cheering ‘for’.
We made probably the best team in the NFL go for it on 4th down with like 4 minutes left in the 4th Q. Have no complaints.
Colts , Raiders who do we want there ? A tie ? A lot of injuries to Raiders ?
I know the game got out of hand at one point, but we showed we belonged in the top of the league. Give Tua a full offseason and this team another draft and we’ll be SB contenders.
Give Tua some weapons
Really proud of this team. We were down on the scoreboard and a ton of players and made it a game against the best team in the game. Oh and by the way, Tua is our franchise QB. 🙂
So we are in the 7th playoff spot and won’t be any worse regardless who wins between Raiders and Colts.
I hate we lost the game but I’m still feeling good knowing we are on the right track, we have a good team. Our wins aren’t considered upsets or a fluke. We aren’t marked as an automatic W on any opposing teams schedule. We lost to the defending champions today, 3 INTs, I think I heard them say that’s how many they had on the year prior to this game. The future is bright.
I truly believe we have the QB, yes some growing pains still to come. I believe we have the core of a solid OL. I believe we have the secondary. I believe our LBs are fine and the DL is exceeding expectations. So GET TUA WEAPONS
The weapons need to stay on the field. We were playing with subs on offense during the comeback.
Think Parker and Williams are weapons….. problem is they keep getting put on the “Land of Broken Toys” list. Yeah I watched Rudolph last night. 🙂
We belong
Screw the score and the INTs…… my favorite play of the game was the 30-yard sack by Baker.
Ditto
And without looking for it got this on my feed — we ain’t the only ones.
“If you’re wondering if that’s the longest sack in NFL history, it is. It ties the record held by Scott Galyon of the New York Giants, who sacked the Arizona Cardinals’ Stoney Case for a 30-yard loss in 1997.”
Good job DL today! Believe it or not, the leading rusher between both teams today was DeAndre Washington with 13 carries for 35 yards. They held Edwards-Helaire to 16 carries for 32 yards.
Tua can’t take that safety or that sack at end of half which took us out of FG range. That’s 5 points and strategy.
However, ell be fine,, he’s the real deal.
Throw a pick instead? We didn’t block that play.
We’re a really good team in the making and everyone knows it. We played really thin today and stayed in the fight late in the game. Tua also hit receivers in the hands down the field 3 times that could have changed the scoreboard and they dropped them. He’s a fuckin gamer.
Bowden really stepped up this game.
Also, if we had had a real home crowd, we might have won a few of those where Mahomes just discussed our D with his guys like it was in his family room.
I’m encouraged by what I saw today. I expected it to get very ugly down 20 but we showed a lot of fight with an undermanned roster. We’re obviously not far from where we need to be. We made one of the best offenses along with the best QB look very uncomfortable today w/o key personnel on defense. We also fought hard on offense without a couple of key guys, so again, encouraged by what we saw from our team today.
Even down two key starters…. this D is for real. But yeah some work on O is needed.
No question, but I think Tua showed us he belongs in there. He’s a playmaker, and you can see he’s learning to make the throws I was talking about in the article where you just throw it up there and let the receiver make the play. He is evolving very quickly, and I really his quick moves in the pocket to avoid pressure. He’s getting better and learning and I think he gives us a chance to win, especially when we have all our guys where they belong.
I accept Tua cause he is gonna be the QB….. and yeah he is looking better. We’ll see where he ends up. We got 4 picks in the first 2 rounds….. would love to see a boundary guy, a slot guy, a RB and another big ugly (G/C I think). Gotta help an Island Bro out.
Agree
Ken .. I agree !! Get Davonte Smith and Kyle Pitts with our two 1st’s. Nab a stud rb in the 2nd.
Woof woof 🐶
I’m happy with Tua’s development.. ppl say his WRs were always open at Alabama well hey this is the NFL. It’s harder. Get him some guys who can get open, and watch him complete 70% again.
Also be nice if his 2nd go to WR has great hands.
Gesicki came down on his head when he went out. I was happy to see him walk off the field under his own power. That looked scary
I thought it was shoulder at first, but man did he slam his head in the replay. Guessing will be in concussion protocol and might have screwed up his neck.
I think he might have broken his collar bone on that play. I hope not but my son broke his in high school during a game and came off the field just like that and said I think Mike just broke his collar bone. 😳
He is walking to locker room with support to his arm/shoulder area
HAD TO RUN AN errand for Mrs. OD who is still on the DL with the total knee replacement that will take an addditional 6 months or so of physical therapy. How did Miami close the gap from 30-10 to 30-24??
Thanks in advance.
Tua
2 long TD drives TD pass to Gisecki and 1 yrd keeper. Tua was balling
THANK YOU, KEN! Would you say Tua silenced some of his doubters with today’s gutsy performance? And is Gisecki seriously injured?
Was impressive they didn’t just fold. Lots of 8 – 15 yard passes.
I feel if Grant catches that deep ball we win the game. The whole game changed at that point
WOW!!! – – I guess there’s no news on Gisecki yet?
Crazy game. We dominated the 1st and 4th quarters, they dominated the 2nd and 3rd. We played most of the game with 3rd and 4th string skill players at WR and RB-…Grant is not a good WR.
We turned them over 4 times, which is amazing. Our D held them to 23 points which is all you can ask for from that unit.
We desperately need an upgrade to the WR position this offseason. Parker is hurt all the time, he’s still got a role here, but we need another more reliable top guy.
Grant needs to be primarily a returner/gadget player, and depth at WR. Williams has been injured more than not so far in his career.
We really could have used Wilson this year, but I don’t know that they will bring him back. I could see us drafting a WR high and picking up a good WR in FA.
Hope to get good news on Gesicki, but the way he was holding that arm wasn’t good.
We made this a game against the best team in the league right up to the end with no WRs, a couple of 3rd string RBs, and without the QB of our defense.
*24 points
OD:
I don’t really know doubters on Tua except for a certain blogger from Occola who just says things to stir the pot. In terms of Gisecki I don’t know the status of the injury. He was escorted to locker room with staff supporting his arm
If you really watched Rudolph last night then you’d know it’s the Island of Misfit Toys.
I’ve gotta huge crush on Clarice.
D only gave up 21 points and took the ball 4 times. They also hit Mahomes a lot. I get the feeling Mahomes wouldn’t want to see our D again
24 points
Ken – What I meant by Gesicki walking off the field was better than being put on stretcher with a neck restraint. A broken collarbone would be bad, having a serious neck injury could have meant some paralysis of some sort, so I’ll take the broken collarbone and have him miss the rest of the season. Hopefully it’s not that, he may have just gotten a neck stinger. That was an ugly tumble.
True enough
Yeah much better than being taken off the field in a coffin.
Tua looked quicker and more mobile today than I’ve seen him this year. He’s progressing nicely. 🙂
Yes, and just think as he gets better and better at reading defenses pre snap. Going to be good.
And more talent might help. 🙂
We might be really good on offense next season. This year we’ll have to scratch and claw. But we’re still in the mix.
I agree Tim, he looked very elusive out there, and definitely quick.
Mike, as the game slows down for Tua, his game speeds up. Is that an oxymoron? LOL
Nope, that’s what’s happening. Doesn’t mean he still won’t make rookie mistakes but he looks like a man playing with confidence and a guy in charge
^
The thing is even proven vets make mistakes. Tua’s the real deal.
We need a player like Jaylen Waddle. He’s my top prospect right now at #8 via Houston. He can also be a factor on returns.
Gesicki took a hard fall, very scary!
https://www.foxnews.com/sports/cleveland-baseball-team-to-drop-indians-nickname-report
we’re still in it at the 7th seed, ravens and raiders right behind us, and the ravens play browns tomorrow then have a cup cake schedule, jags.giants,@ bengals
tua and the offense was lethargic when the game was competitive, should have put up 21 points early only got 10.
tua seems to not have any touch, he tries to pin point the passes instaed of getting a little air and letting his rec go get it.
the pass thrown behind parker is a good example.
2nd year in a row preston williams is injured and out extensively! now with Parker and Gesicki banged up we’re in trouble!
we need to draft a good WR! one that’s not injury prone.
3 games left
We really need the Ravens to lose to the Browns. If that happens and we take care of business against the Pets and Raiders, we’re in.
^
Howard is ridiculous.
Raiders fire their DC.
They had one?
The Bills are a good team.
Their defense is starting to come on, and their offense has been really good. I actually think they may be the 2nd best team in the league behind the Chiefs.
That might impact our preparation on the Raiders defensive playcall tendencies and what we have on film. Raiders vs Chargers next week, we’ll have one game on film. Rod Marinelli is interim DC.
Shouldn’t be a big factor, but we need every little bit of help on the offensive side of the ball.
Playing the Chiefs is like playing the 84 Dolphins.
Hey, if the Bills put up 13 more points, and the Ravens give up at least 14 points tomorrow, the Dolphins will be the #1 scoring defense in the league. We’re already tied with the Steelers for the most TOs forced at 25.
Our defense is legit. It feels like our rushing defense has really tightened up recently.
We next manned up big time against the best team in the league. Nothing to be ashamed off. We’re a legit team. KC is better because you can’t stop them. Our offense isn’t ready to score 40+ and win this type of game. But it’s coming. 🙂
Yep, it’s exciting. We’re competing for the playoffs and it looks like we’re one more good offseason away from legit SB contenders.
Bills are going to win. This is a real shitty football weekend.
Steelers showing some life.
Howard has more picks (9) than Ogbah has sacks (8).
Howard has as many picks as Tua has TD passes.
I miss Ben Volin
✋
^ all X needs to make a pick
DPOY
Talking on WQAM like Gesicki is done for the season. Hope they’re wrong. I think best case scenario would be a stinger, but it could be a separated shoulder or broken collarbone.
This is worth watching
https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/video/nfl-dolphins-te-mike-gesickis-shoulder-injury-and-when-to-expect-him-back-dr-matt-provencher
Thanks Piggy, so anywhere from 1 week to 6 months. Yikes!!!!
Yeah, I mean I think we should really be in the mindset that his season is over
We have seen 9 interceptions a few times in the last decade
We haven’t seen 10 since 2007
But it’s 11 that really catapaults a dB, we haven’t seen that since 1981
From 74 to 81, the nfls interception had no less than 10. I guess that’s the golden age of inaccurate passing…lol
Double digits seems the norm up until the early 80s
13 – Don Sandifer in 1948
And 14 night train lane in 1952 are really holy ground in terms of interceptions
If Howard continues his streak he will finish at 12 and we haven’t seen 12 since 1979
Double digits would be nice to see.
The question is why do they keep throwing at him? I’m glad they do because X makes every team look dumb.
They are throwing at him bc of who is on the other side of him.. I think if they were going to stop throwing at him, they would have stopped already
you would figure with 3 interceptions we win that game, offense sucks!
Flores honeymoon is almost over, so Far i liked what he has done from a coaching perspective,
he & grier have done a good job in F.A. however the draft selection jury is still out.
It’s hard to Fox everything in a couple of seasons
We went from a team that did nothing well to a team that does a few things well
The final peace is to use this offseason to being in offensive weapons IMO
I wonder if we should have gone for 2 on our last TD, then down by 8 instead of the FG a TD at the last second would have been for a tie and OT 🤷♂️
At least he realizes his short comings even if the rest of you dont.
” I think the defense gave us many opportunities — not just in the third quarter but some in the fourth quarter as well — but offensively we didn’t execute as we should’ve. And a lot of that falls down on me.”
He is taking ownership like a leader should. Given what he had to work with especially in second half I give him a B for his performance.
draft selection jury is still out.
————————————–
Not for me. Three rookies starting on the OL and doing well. Wilkins and Davis on DL. Van Ginkle. Brandon Jones. Gaskin. Etc. Not to mention some UDFA gems they found like in Needham. I know I am forgetting some.
how about iggy & tua?
how about giving up a 2nd for rosen who they released?
a lot of the guys you mentioned were late draft picks also, what do the do in the 1st ^ 2nd rounds defines them.
Iggy actually played really well in place of Howard in the Bengals game
He got burned a lot being thrown into the fire early in the season – but that’s part of the process
Tua has also been good, but there is no reasoning with you on that subject
painful loss puts us in doubt to make the playoffs! The Ravens are on our heels with an easy schedule ahead of them, with a win against cleve tonight would most likely kill our post season chances
Tua may work out, he’s young, i dont like some of the trajectories of his throws, not having correct trajectory means you have to have pin point accuracy which i haven’t seen from him.
just like the throw that was behind parker, some of his throws in the endzone, one of which was caught for a TD last week by gesicki, it was low and short, should have been a more floating high ball for gisicki to out jump his man.
Like it or not his stats are pretty amazing this year so far
62% completion
9:1 TD/INT ratio
95.2 QB rating
If anything is underwhelming it’s his yardage
He had his first big yardage game yesterday when he was asked to comeback and without any receivers
I don’t get it ORob.
Get off his back. He’s our franchise QB
They are going to be invested in him for a few years
If it doesn’t work out then, the team will go in a different direction
But let’s not pretend he’s been disappointing as a rookie. He hasn’t been.
You are star struck and pro Tua.
what you don’t equate is where he was drafted vs his performance, look at Burrow, look at Herbert, they are living up to their draft status.
if he was drafted in the later rounds then so be it but he wasn’t.
i don’t blame that on Tua, I blame it on the decision makers.
when are you going to buy that #1 jersey.
hurry up, do it for the team!
There were some LB’s that stood out to me this weekend who would be good fits to our D. Two LB’s from the LSU/UF game. UF’s Ventrell Miller who is stout against the run and solid tackler, plays down hill but just ok in coverage. The other is the one D has been bringing up. Jabril Cox of LSU. He don’t have many sacks but has a lot of pressures and can do it all. He is 6’3 231 and can move. I saw him in tight coverage 40 yards downfield breaking up a pass in that game that was really impressive. He has 8 INT’s as a LB including 2 this season playing in the SEC with 1 pick 6. He went from playing at North Dakota State to playing in the SEC and has not missed a beat. Good call on this one D!
My top LB’s not in any order I would like us to get one of are:
Micah Parsons
Joseph Ossai
Jabril Cox
Zaven Collins
Dylan Moses
I am on the fence on the ND LB as he is like an SS playing LB.
I like Waddle and Smith too
But given that we have the 8 pick on the draft right now, there’s a real shot that we select Jamarr Chase early in the draft
Same thing at RB. I like Harris’s, but don’t rule out taking Travis Etienne
Any or all of them is good. We may have a shot a 3 of the 4
Smith @ 8
Waddle or Harris @ our pick rd1
Waddle or Harris or Etienne with first 2nd
Smith, Waddle and Harris would be Tuariffic
The reason our offense stalls most of the time is due to Tua’s skill set.
that lost us the game yesterday!
Piggy – Why argue with ORob? He’s just trolling you. No one who watches football could be that clueless.
another Henne lover speaking.
Nah…I liked Tannehill.
And i was complimenting you. No one is that stupid. Unless they are.
have you been watching the games?
Fitz is better.
Even Fitz doesn’t think so.
Definitely need some offensive weapons for Tua. What he managed to do in the 4th with 3rd tier WR/TE/RB was pretty spectacular. And I have decided I think Parker is not a #1 WR. For whatever reason he doesn’t get separation. And that dropped pass in the end zone could have been the difference in the game.
Can you imagine how good this team would be with Herbert behind center?
You mean that loser Tua beat in November?
he sure sliced and diced them for 169 yards!
what was i thinking!
i think our D won that game.
Imagine if Tua had Allen and Williams
he had gesicki, parker & grant, what are they chop liver?
also Mack Hollins who i think is pretty good.
Herbert couldn’t win even with one of the better receiving corps in the league.
LMAO at considering Grant a pretty good WR 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gisicki is very good. Parker is average. Grant can’t catch. Hollis is a good back up.
And Grant and Parker missed the majority of the game
As I said before ORob your excessive anti Tua rant diminishes your credibility. You are literally the only voice and not just on this blog but among coaches, players and professional analysts that have not been impressed with Tua so far. But that’s okay because you are entitled to your opinion
I OBJECT!
Objection overruled lol
Grant is a very good wr, all you have to do is throw him a catchable ball, bashing Grant doesn’t make Tua any better.
OMG ORob every receiver is pretty good if thrown a catchable ball. Except Grant. He seems to struggle with that
Rob – I look at Burrow and he’s on IR for the rest of the season. You like that?
What’s Herbert’s QB rating? Is it better than Tua’s? Check that out too.
stats are for losers, you’re not considering the rest of the team and coaching staff into the qb stats, that’s where the eye test comes in,
herbert has a better physique a stronger arm and is accurate
Oh, so you think Herbert is sexier? Is that it?
stop being jealous! you know your my #1 pool bitch!
right now if you could swap Tua for herbert, would you?
be honest.
I would
Honestly, right now, I like what I see out of Tua so I would not make that trade. He’s getting better each start, you can see him seeing things better and making better decisions. I think he’s a winner.
you’re star struck, what do you think most nonfin nfl analyzers would do if posed that same question?
I’m not really sure, but I think it’s early to make that decision anyway. I’d bet if I ask my non Dolphins fans friends they would probably take Herbert but those same guys said Newton was going to make the Patriots great this season, so there’s that. lol
Mike E. says:
December 14, 2020 at 11:26 am
I’m not really sure,
++++++++++++++
that statement right there means you’ve moved closer to the edge of the cliff!
if you’re so sure of Tua why aren’t you sure of what pro analyzers may think of that scenario?
i think what greir needs to do is put the names of available qbs on a dart board with a blind fold on.
that way he may stand a chance of getting it right.
LOL @ pool bitch!
🙂
Piggy, I like Jamar Chase and have seen a few mocks having us take him or Waddle with that pick. Though, I like Waddle, I don’t think he could be a #1 but would be a hell of a weapon. Then again, do you really need a true #1 or do you just need a guy who can catch the damn ball and make big plays. I wish Chase would not have opted out so we could see what he really has without Burrow and that dynamic offense they had last year. I am thinking of Chase as a faster Parker.
To be honest and it may be a reach by about 5 picks but I like Devonte Smith with the Houston pick. I like what he brings as a whole package. IMO, he has the best hands and is the best route runner in college football. Then there is also the chemistry he already has with Tua.
There are a number of shifty lightning fast receivers who could be taken later:
Kadarius Toney – 2nd round
Rondale Moore – 2nd round
Dazz Newsome – rounds 3-5
Anthony Schwartz – rounds 3-5
Chatarius Atwell – rounds 4-6
Jaelon Darden rounds 5-7
Marquez Stevenson rounds 5-7
JD Spielman 6-UDFA
All these guys are ankle breakers and very fast and sure I have missed a few.
Gregory Rousseau
Ummm, he’s not a receiver
pass rushers with early picks
He is a freshman.
I haven’t given up on Tua, do i think he’s the next Marino, that will never happen, at best he’s avg.
Comparing Tua to Herbert is comparing apples to apples. They are both playing great and both seem to have been worth the investment to their respective teams. They went 5 and 6 so there is not a lot separating them. I don’t think there is a lot in regards to their play on the field that separates them. If you think Herbert is better than Tua I can respect that but that doesn’t mean you should be soured Tua’s performance because quite frankly it has been pretty similar to Herbert
no way, Tua had 3 short fields provided by the D yesterday in the early going and could manage only 10 points.
kc started playing prevent with a 30-10 lead, that’s the only way Tua could produce.
The 2 drives to rally us in the 4 quarter were both long drives in a hurry up offense. Tua brought us back against the Cardinals in the 4th quarter to win. Something Herbert is yet to do. And yet another one of your arguments crumbles
I think an unbiased jury will see it differently
how unbiased of you to cherry pick the only positive thing so far in Tuas career. the cards game, keep digging.
I forgot, instead of putting up names, I need to post videos for Rhino’s sake. 😉
This is a small school guy but is dominating out of the slot for North Texas. Very crisp route runner and has 19 TD’s just this season alone.
Marquez Stevenson is one I really like taking after first 3 rounds.
Phelon, Gregory Rousseau is a redshirt sophomore I believe which would make him draft eligible. He only has 1 season to go by but had huge production.
Ah…video said freshman so i went with that.
If the Ravens win tonight, we likely need to win out to make the playoffs. If they lose and we win against the Pets and Raiders, we’re in.
New England can basically knock us out by beating us next Sunday. I’m sure they would love to get some payback for last year’s loss in week 17.
We’re favored, and we should win that game even without Geiscki. Even if our WRs get healthy enough to play, Grant is chopped liver, and Parker will be hampered like he has been all season.
We’ll be playing with Bowden and Perry (2 back up WRs) and 3 slow TEs as our main threats in the passing game like we did for the entire 2nd half against the Chiefs. It’s going to be tough to score points against a Belicheat led defense with no weapons, but the Pets can’t score the way the Chiefs do, so our defense should make this a winnable game.
It actually doesn’t really bother me if we don’t make the playoffs this year. We’re not there on offense yet. The more Tua plays these games learning with small windows and a piss poor collection of skill players, the better he will be next year after we give him some real weapons. We likely would be one and done in the playoffs anyway where all your deficiencies are magnified.
Tua is getting better each week, you can see him learning on the field. As they said in the game yesterday, if this was a normal season and offseason, he’d be in game 3 right now.
We literally tore our roster down to the bare bones last year, and are legitimately one off season away from putting together a roster that can make a run in the playoffs. We need another good offseason from Grier and Flores, and we’ll be there.
The entire league knows this is a Dolphins team on the rise. It has been a very fun season, even with all the COVID crap.
Our entire team would need to be healthy (esp. LB and RB) to have any chance of being competitive against a high seed in playoffs. IF all are healthy, we could scare them. Would be nice to give the young team a “taste” as well. All these young guys see the improvement in just two years helps with the “buy in” of the culture being established.
Oh man, it would be great to get our guys a playoff game for experience, and a nice treat for us fans too. We can still do it. The Pets aren’t a dominate offensive team, so we can win that game, and the Raiders are a good offense, but they play more of a vertical game which plays into our defensive strength. I like our chances there as well.
More than anything, I’m loving the culture change Flores has brought. We have heard about ‘culture change’ for the past 15 years and no one could deliver until Flores. Almost everyone can see it.
Cav, I think you are right. Rest of Ravens schedule is a cake walk I believe.
Yep, the Ravens have the Jags, Giants, and Bengals to finish out the season. We’re huge Browns fans tonight, lol. They have really been a good team for the last month, so hopefully they have another big game tonight.
Thanks for the videos BBM 🙂
My ex-brother-in-law played OL for North Texas many years ago. Kind of weird to see a “prospect” from the Mean Green… lol
