KEN: Think of it this way: Think of the man as Steve Ross, and the turtle as your typical disappointed Fins season ticket holder.
RAYS, who are leading the Bosox 4-0 in the 6th, seem headed to an opening game playoff win tonight. For only the second time this SEASON, the Rays may have drawn over 20,000 to a home game this evening!
Local radio sports announcer said “It’s hard to get excited about this Sunday’s home game against one of the worst teams in the NFL, the Miami Dolphins.” He continued, however, “I AM EXCITED about the Rays prospects in the playoffs. So I’m going to discuss why local fans SHOULD be excited our local baseball team because, in my opinion, the RAYS are the team to beat in the American League playoffs.”
I didn’t disagree with a thing he said.
And with the Lightning about to start off their pursuit of a 3rd straight Stanley Cup, it is entirely possible that this Sunday’s Fins @ Bucs game WON’T be first in the minds of Tampa area sports fans.
And maybe that’s for the best, given the likely outcome of this NFL game.

David, i know all about tax deed auctions, when you buy an auctioned property it has a clouded title. you have to hire an attorney to do a suit to quiet title. $3500. on top of what you paid for the lot,
takes 3 months,
if you buy one foriegn owned that’s even worse as your attorney has to hire another attorney in the country where the owners last known address was to record the notice.
you don’t get your money back if they challenge it, once it is sold at auction and they challenge it, you then have a legal battle to fight, atty fees to pay.
not to mention, i’ve watched auctions where the lots are being sold above what i could buy them for from a private owner with a clear warranty deed. i bought three at $8500 each, the same lots sell at auction over 11k. now add $3500 on that! i see those same lots listed from 10 to 13k with clear title. not sure how they get so much for them?
with that said, there’s a way to buy tax deed properties, what you do is contact the owner make a deal with them pay off the back taxes (redeem) and you get a warranty deed. most lots have apprx $2500 owed to the county, say you find the owner offer him $3000, pay off the $2500, you then have a lot you paid $5500 worth 12k, i know people who do that for a living and make a lot of money, the hardest thing to do is to find these owners.

but i wanted to mention to check Your county for tax deed auctions, and give them a try
i research the properties before the auction, to know which ones are suitable
you have to contact the owner of the tax deed property , agree on a contract at least 30 days in advance of the auction sale, as it takes three weeks to do a lien search to guarantee marketable title. that’s the way to buy tax deeds, buying them in an online auction is a rip off.
david there’s a difference in buying tax deeds vs tax liens, tax liens are where you get your money back with interest, tax deeds you don’t, once you buy tax deed you have to clear the title, if the owner challenges you that’s a legal battle you will have to fight and that cost $$, you don’t get your money back with interest buying a tax deed if challenged, you get an additional bill from your attorney.
