Whatever it takes to win the game. Sometimes that means passing only 3 times. Wow!!!
Josh Allen really blew it.
Who knows, maybe the Bills implode now. They face the Bucs this week in Tampa, Brady won’t be doing them any favors.
I agree. I don’t think this Bills loss was devastating. The Bills could easily finish 9-8
You mean devastating to us, right?
Well, now that everyone knows you can run the same few plays in them successfully…
I can’t imagine a more devastating way to lose
The Harris TD run was silly. Not touched for 57 yards
Wild that the Bills couldn’t adjust in the second half.
Wild Bills Hickock!
I heard he invented chicken wings.
Tua has the best passer rating in the 4th quarter of all quarterbacks since 1994.
Longest active streak of games this season with a 100+ passer rating
Tua Tagovailoa 4
No one else in the NFL even has 2 straight.
Ray Stevens has something to say about that
Most passing yards on RPO’s:
Tua Tagovailoa*: 447
Justin Herbert: 360
Patrick Mahomes: 340
*missed 5 games … … … lol
Xavien Howard is the fastest to get to 25 INTs (in games).
He also has the most INTs since he came into the league.
Orob, now I know why you never took my bet on Tua. You knew you’d lose! Smart man, after all….lol.
Tua Tagovailoa ranks among qualified QBs this month
Rank
Comp pct 80.5% 1st
Passer Rating 110.0 4th
Yards/att 8.58 2nd
Win pct 1.000 t-1st
Buffalo won’t finish 9-8. Unfortunately, their last 2 games are at home against the Falcons and Jags.
Our chances just went way down.
We would be asking for a miracle.
We need Pats to lose to Colts and Buffalo to win the rematch to put Pats at 9-6. Then Pats will be 10-6 after beating Jags at home then come to Miami at 10-6.
But they still have Tampa and the Patriots in New England
Maybe the Jags can steal one too. We still need to win out though. If we don’t do that, then none of the scenarios matter.
Exactly
Only way the Bills finish 9-8 is if they lose 3 of 5. That means Bucs and Pats have to beat them again and one of Panthers, Falcon or Jags have to beat them in Buffalo.
Jacksonville beat them 4 of those 5 teams are better than Jacksonville. Bills are not playing particularly well right now
I just saw a mock that almost made me puke.
Had Pats Taking Jameson Williams. I’d be so pissed. LOL
The game last was like the 72 Dolphins
I guess the important thing is that we are not out of it. Just keep winning one game at a time.
Steelers probably have the hardest schedule left and they are the #3 WC team right now. They are @Vikings, home vs Titans, @Chiefs, home vs Browns, and finish @Ravens.
Plus, there are so many other head to head games that will affect everything.
What hurts us most are our loses to teams (Colts, Raiders, Bills) we are competing against for a WC spot.
Sorry, Bills are #3. Steelers are the top team trying to get in.
Colts is really the killer one imo
Yeah, they really have it over us and not just by beating us. They have a 6-3 conference record to our 4-5 conference record.
Their reaction brought a lot of attention to the question
It’s a little rude to ask if that way but you can easily say “we had a bad day” and move on
That performance last night was kinda embarrassing
Defenses have bad days in this day and age, more often than not, but that was a 1945 offense that they had no idea how to stop
3 pass attempts?
It almost smells to me as some dissension between offense and defense
QB pressures 31st
OL rating (PFF) 32nd
pocket time 32nd
Rush YPG 31st
Rush YPC 31st
Receiver drops 32nd
age of first year OC 69
second year OCs – 3 (as in, zero)
You literally could not craft a worse situation to put a young QB in than that.
And yet he is starting to thrive
Doesn’t get any worse
I think pocket time might be a skewed stat, because Tua getting rid of the ball so quickly might play a factor in determining it
Bellicheat made McDermott look stupid.
We’ve had some really ugly games against belicheat
Some really bad blowouts
and they always crush our season
But I’ve never seen anything like what we saw last night
I bet it’s on all th shows this morning – but when the last time you saw a team try 3 passes in a game?
And they play again in 2 weeks!
The Pats will probably throw 40 times in that game
I’d honestly take the blowout than be subjected to something so dejecting. Reminds of the time we lost to the Steelers in that 2007 3-0
mudbath, where they injured Ricky Williams by stomping on his back.
They stomped on his front, the dude put his foot right on his chest
Ok you’re right I just looked at it I don’t know why I thought it was his chest
It was on his back shoulder.
I always thought it was his chest too…maybe the injury was to the chest. Was it a pectoral injury?
I’m surprised none of you old farts brought up that it’s Pearl Harbor Day.
I am old but not that old
The Bills probably have too much talent to completely implode.
If the Bills had won last night, then we only needed the Pets to lose one more game for us to jump them (assuming we win out). Since it was the Bills that lost, we need the Bills to lose 3 more games for us to jump them.
It wasn’t an end of the line loss for us at all, but it basically ensured we aren’t jumping either of those teams and hurt our already slim chances.
I’m not sure it will end up mattering though. First and foremost, we still have to win out, and that is a tall order to sweep those last three games when we have no room for error.
But the Bills have been imploding
They are really hot and cold on offense. They have been alternating wins and losses for weeks now, but It’s not like they’ve lost 7 straight, lol.
Tall order to hope they lose 3 of their last 5, although…I guess if they are alternating Ws and Ls, they only need one extra loss…ok you talked me into it, it’s possible. 🙂
I don’t see them beating Tampa or New England they way they are playing right now
I figure they’ll split with NE because that is the best way both those jerk teams can f^ck us.
Good thinking lol
12 days until our next game. I think I am going to go through withdrawals
I’m taking up Bocce … wait, that’s the same thing.
LOL
Buffalo got screwed last night with the wind, but that’s their fault for building a team not suited to play in it
Don’t think NE has any advantage over them their next meeting
With good weather I’d favor the Bills
The wind has nothing to do with stopping the run
No, but it did have something to do with why the cheats ran so much
Don’t you think Allen would’ve been more effective throwing with 10 mph winds?
Don’t know. Didn’t look like the wind bothered Allen as much as the Pat’s D. I think the Pat’s established themselves as the better team last night. Next game is in Foxboro too.
They got run over by the Patriots
2 weeks ago, the colts ran for 264 yards against them
They have a glaring flaw
Just decided we are going to Key West next week and stay until Saturday then head up to Dania Beach and stay there 3-4 days and probably Hard Rock Casino a day or 2.
Trying to work it out now to go to Jets game. Gotta make reservations in Key West. Any suggestions? Also, gotta get tickets to the game. Don’t want to be on Jets side though. lol
Catch some good fish!
Talk to Phish he is your man for info on the Keys
Basically got to root against Bills, Colts, Raiders, Browns, Chargers and Bengals next week
Did I forget anyone?
Steelers if they are playing and not on a bye
they play the vikes thur
BURN
That SB looked like a scrimmage for seattle
that was a great game last night, if the pats can run like that there’s no stopping them
Just found out Mike Glennon went into concussion protocol following the game on Sunday
With Jones being hurt, concussion protocol for Glennon has to be a real pain in the neck for the Giants.
I’m not surprised he got hurt though, we were breathing down his neck the entire 2nd half, but give him credit, he hung in there and really stuck his neck out for the team.
I feel bad for the guy, but it was a big win for us. We were neck and neck with the Giants in the standings, but we’ve pulled ahead now.
Neck
lmao
Necks man up.
Lol
That’s the Necked truth.
Giants play @ Chargers Neckst. I will be rooting for them.
Funny monkey 🙊
Are we supposed to know who this is?
Erroll Thompson, never heard of him
Right? Did he get drafted? If not, why not? Where has he been since college?
Probably kicking the tires to see if they want to sign him to a futures contract (not sure when they can start doing that) and bring him into camp next year.
He was an undrafted rookie this year. Last year at Miss State was 2020. PLayed ni preseason this year and was cut by Falcons.
He’s a MLB and was the QB of their D at Miss State
80 years ago on this day. Never forget.
And speaking of Hawaii, my father is getting MASSIVE rain. So far, so good for him… and Hawaii has issued a state of emergency.
Naples,
Great job in providing data earlier! Here’s a visual to demonstrate one of your posts…
He’s a survivor!
The bashing he receives is ignorant. These smarter than thou “analysts” don’t watch the team they all parrot a couple guys that dont bother watching anything besides the ball. They are starting to come around now I hear. Can’t ignore the ineptitude of the OL even as a casual observer.
+1000000000000000, my guy!!!
WOW on those charts!! So, am I reading them right? The dolphins have the absolute worst pass protection (Bottom left of the bottom chart) and the absolute best QB efficiency weeks 6-12? (top right of top chart)
!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, Tua sucks. (Eyeroll)
I will go ahead right now and appologize and say I was wrrrrrr
I was wrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I was wrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I may not have been right about him. 😉
You ARE reading them correctly, Rockphin!
Now just imagine if we had a decent O-Line to protect him.
I’m not sure what “Expected points added” is or how the hell the arrive at that number but damn!
I truly believe we would be no better off with Watson. His penchant for taking sacks behind this OL would be a recipe for disaster.
Wondering where Stanger has been as of late. I hope he’s alright and all is good with him.
I was just thinking that yesterday. Maybe on vacation.
Can we kick the tires on someone who will help this offense?
Ok, got Key West reservation, 5 nights Monday through to Saturday then 2 Nights (Sat and Sun) on Dania Beach and final 2 nights at the Hard Rock Guitar Hotel Mon and Tues.
Now, just need to order Dolphins tickets to the game against the Jets and I will be all set! I will do that tomorrow.
Have fun! I waited until the morning of the game against Houston and got a great deal on stubhub but that was when they were 1-7.
Get you a mask snorkel and fins. Dive the jacks north of the pier.
From the words of Robert Plant
Ten years gone. Still hold’n on
As of now our OL is not good. But the problem is they’re all too young to start as a group. That’s where Grier messed up. Outside of Davis we really don’t have any veteran presence with a lot of starter game time and we all know Davis is better as a versatile backup in a pinch as opposed to starting.
The #1 priority in FA for us next year should be adding two vet OL that have proven starter experience for a few years at a position – say a RT and a C or G. Then you have the young guys with some more experience now competing to fill out the lineup. We went too young at the same time on the OL.
Because of that, we have to run a specific offense to compensate for that. We see it every week. I disagree that this is hampering Tua though. To me he’s learning to get the ball out quick which is a good thing. Defenses these day throw a lot at you. When the OL is more reliable where Tua is more confident with time in the pocket, he’ll grow with that too. You can’t run plays that you can’t execute.
This offseason we need to really focus on offense. We can fix it in one year if we focus on it. There is talent to work with, but we need some better players.

NOICE!
Very funny stuff at the 2:08 mark an lol is due
I used to yell at Tannehill because he wouldn’t always “pop up” and throw, when he did it looked good, but other times I guess see the rush whatever you want to call it and he’d stand still basically and get killed. Tough fucker but damn dude that ball has to come out and Tua gets it out. The deeper stuff will develop with consistency and experience. Which obviously would include oline improvement.
👍
Exactly! You can draw it up and make it look good on paper, but if the play can’t be executed you can’t run it. Just saying do this or that does not make it happen. Flores and his staff along with the players have figured out the best way they have a chance to win. This team has strengths and weaknesses. It makes no sense to try to be a power run team when you can’t be, or to attempt 7 deep throws a game that can lead to sacks and turnovers when it’s not a high percentage play to begin with, and we’re not built right now to do that.
That’s like asking a hockey team that isn’t overly fast or skilled to play a wide open offensive game. Play the checking and defensive game. Try to win, not blow people away with stats. The only stats that ever really matter are in the standings that put you in the playoffs. That’s the goal!
A big part of the philosophy is to keep it a one score game into the fourth qtr. Bend don’t break and consequently sometimes punting isn’t the worst thing. Minimize penalties and turnovers and stay disciplined which we do for the most part.
Missing kicks sucks Sanders. It effects our scoring average.
Yep! Sanders is having an off year. Didn’t expect that. Not sure what’s going on with him.
OL, RB and WR would be my focus this offseason. We could roll with the same defense we have now because they’re coming together and they feed off each other. Ogbah is the only significant FA and I hope we bring him back.
Lots of money and picks. Ogbah belongs here I think they get deal without any worrying.
Yeah Ogbah is obvious. He’s not just a sack guy. He’s a good overall DE and even a OLB at times is a 3-4 type scheme. He bats passes down every week, plays the run, gets pressure on the QB. He’s also a part of this tight-knit defensive group. I think letting him walk in FA would be a really bad move.
He’s 28 and getting better. He doesn’t have the crazy sack numbers but he has plenty of other disruptive stats and impressive game tape. I think he’s in that 4 years $60M range with $30+ guaranteed. Keep the core playing together for the big goal.
Chris Grier, no more 20+ roster turnovers. It’s time for maybe… 10. You have to build on something. At some point you need a team, not a new group every year.
Wouldn’t touch a WR in the draft for the first 4 rounds or in FA
I’d go with Parker, he’ll get hurt, but he has over 10m in dead cap, Waddle, Hollins, Bowden, Hurns and Ford, and give Merritt the chance to beat out Ford
OL in 1st, RB in the second, and yes Ogbah is a must re-sign
I’d also re-sign Gesicki, Smythe and Needham
I like when he slaps Barkley’s hand away.
LIGHTNING just concluded an amazing comeback win in the final moments of tonight’s game in Montreal. Trailing 2-1 with 2:30 left in the game, HC Jon Cooper pulled his goalie (Vasilevskiy) and, 21 seconds later, Perry scored the tying goal on a deflection of a perfect pass From Steven Stamkos to knot the game at 2-2. Then, with just 37 seconds left in regulation, Ondrej Palat scored the game-winner as the Tampa Bay bench erupted in a team celebration of mammoth proportions!!–Disgruntled Montreal fans left shaking their heads as, once again, the team from Tampa Bay absolutely spoiled the evening for all Habs’ supporters!! What a finish!!
—————————
Mega-kudos to coach Cooper and their staff as the Bolts have found a way to remain VERY competitive despite the loss of their top 2 players (Kucherov and Brayden Point) due to injury. At first it was thought that ONE, and perhaps BOTH of these players might be back in late November. But, now, there’s speculation it will be weeks later in the case of BOTH of these guys. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay’s win tonight leaves them at 16-5-4 for the season and clearly among the favorites to win the Stanley Cup for the 3rd consecutive season. Meanwhile, the Bolts appear to be in NO HURRY to rush the return of KOOCH and POINTER. Getting them well rested and HEALED is their top priority.
There’s just no substitute for quality depth in the National Hockey League.
GO BOLTS!!
All of 2 guys out😉
VGK had been down as many as 8 guys, for a good portion of the early season, with their top 2 players hurt game 2
Top line center and defenseman Eichel and Martinez are still out, with Eichel probably not playing until the playoffs, in a TBL like salary cap move🤪
At games during the warm-ups there were so many new faces it was hard to recognize the team
William Karlsson was back for the last game, after breaking his foot. His return was schedule for Dec 16th
For several games the entire first line, 2 from the second line, 1 from the 4th line and 2 defenders were out, yet they won 5 out of 6
We can all be friends. It’s very easy just…
GOOD IDEA, TIM.
Y’all have a great evening.
Time to walk the greyhound and hit the sack.
The Old Dolfan IS OUT!!
Can’t believe Led Zeppelin Killed the blog last night. What’s wrong with yall?
Tim broke the blog
It’s gonna be a long 2 weeks on this blog
LOL. Son said that the bi-week babe is coming so at least we will have something to look at.
I’m sure ORob will find it offensive.
My draft priorities at this time are: OL, RB, WR and LB
Is that your order of priority?
I would rather add to OL through F/a first then draft OL 3rd or 4th round.
Yes that is my priority of needs but doesn’t necessarily match with BPA combined with needs which I believe always has to balanced between the 2 when drafting
I have OL, RB and LB in order, but if that stud LB is there in the 1st…
We own 1 pick in each round, additional picks in the 4th and 6th, 1st and 3rd from SF
19. Jameson Williams WR Alabama
45. Sam Williams EDGE Mississippi
99. Jerome Ford RB Cincinnati
115. Nick Broeker OT Mississippi
120. John Ridgeway DT Arkansas
154. Cade Mays OG Tennessee
179. Amari Gainer LB Florida State
210. Jerreth Sterns WR Western Kentucky
223. Hendon Hooker QB Tennessee
I like Ford
I’d rather have Butterbean😉
Why is our 3rd such a late pick? pick from SF
Today’s episode of ‘Where Are They Now?”
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/new-orleans-saints-waive-wr-kenny-stills-days-after-key-drop-in-loss-to-dallas-cowboys/ar-AARBIxF
I always liked Stills and he had some big games for us
I actually agree with Omar for once:
Although I presume we have 6 OL that are worthy of seeing the field
That presumes^
Why is our 3rd such a late pick? pick from SF
————————–
Cause they are an NFC WC team right now.
Ken, I like Ford also. He’s big at 5’11 220 and has deceptive speed. Good jump cut, decent as a receiver and difficult for DB’s to bring down.
That’s praise indeed. Thanks for sharing.
If we add two good FA OL and a stud RB in the draft, I can see a similar team to the Legion of Boom Seahawks. We aren’t too far off but OL seems to be a decadal problem that’s been going strong for twenty years. We find a couple good ones but not for long.
I like Flores as a coach but I think Grier is over his head.
Grier seems to be redeeming himself with a great draft class this year and if Tua keeps on his trajectory you have to call that a successful pick of a QB
Grier has been middle of the road with the draft but terrible at FA so I agree.
I’m with you except, we are going to have to address WR this off-season too
And I want to keep adding pass rushers every off-season
I like hat as long as we get a solid OL. That’s my draft Christmas/FA list. Either Grier drafts or picks up some really good OL, or we get someone who can.
Ken
Basically if we run 6 OL, we are taking a receiver off the field
If you are going to throw 3 times, it’s a lot easier to do that
I can see situationally doing this – but I would be pretty upset if that became a big part of our offense
I don’t believe we should do it all the time but I do believe there are situations such as goal line , short yardage and certain teams where it would make sense to do it
https://twitter.com/baldynfl/status/1468419256895348749?s=21
Another great breakdown!
Serious Question
Remove all the fuckface hate from your mind before you answer
Is Holland a better football player than Minkah Fitzpatrick?
Good question. Fitzpatrick has definitely had success in creating turnovers but I think Holland has better coverage skills than Fitzpatrick
He might be but It’s too early to say for sure IMO.
It is early but I believe Holland is better. His instincts are off the charts for a rookie.
On the field I’d say it was a wash right now.
But as a future leader of the team I think Holland will be head and shoulders above the me first attitude!
JMHO
Okay
I am going to rephrase this bc it sounds like no one wants to make a bold call….lol
Is Holland in his rookie year, better than Minkah was for us in his rookie year
My answer is: yes he is
I also think it’s important to note that I think Holland was basically drafted to be what Minkah was supposed to be
I will actually go a little further
I think flat out, Holland is better football player than Minkah
I don’t see enough of Fitzpatrick these days to really say. Fitzpatrick is really good from what I do see but so is Holland
Everytime I see Minkah he’s either getting an int or someone is burning his ass, he’s the 2021 version of Tyrell Buckley
If we are talking rookie year, Holland is better without a doubt!! Minkah was too busy bitching to his mommy his rookie year.
The was year 2 in camp, when Omar called him out
WY
In terms of leadership and commitment to the team – I don’t think it’s close
Anyone that demands a trade from their team (or has their mother do it for them) is always going to come up short with those qualities
But like I’m just saying football only….just to remove that from biasing our opinions, which it’s bound to happen…and I don’t even play games about it. Fuck that Fuckface!…lol
“Mommy, Coach Flo is really mean and makes me do things I don’t want to do!”
“In the locker room?”
“No mommy, on the field. He makes me play strong safety, free safety and even LB, you know like a man”
“Don’t worry little Minky, Mommy will get you traded”
Lol
LOL! He may still be breastfeeding not that there’s anything wrong with that j/k

Why is our 3rd such a late pick? pick from SF
————————–
Cause they are an NFC WC team right now.
3 X 32 = 96, the pick is 99
Is it a comp pick?
Isn’t it the comp pick they got for losing Saleh?
I don’t think you can trade comp picks
So apparently compensatory can now be traded but that was not always the case. Apparently the rule changed in 2016 as I have now found out. However the compensatory picks are not assigned until after the season so you cannot determine where it will be at this point in time
I’m not determining anything, lol. I just said I think that pick came from the niners comp for Saleh, which it did.
Maybe the new comps rule for coaches are preslotted, but either way I didnt assert that.
Piggy,
Yes he is. He’s more versatile while still having great coverage skills. Any time a player has similar skill sets but provides more options…he has to be better. It’s really, really close because MFF is an elite player but Holland has two
more sacks than Minkah does in his entire career. With players being able to change numbers, no one knows what Javon is doing. Minkah? He’s back playing safety every time. Predictable and exploitable.
So my impression of Minkah in year 1 was not that he was a ballhawk but generally a strong safety
I remember him coming up against the run and shorting down WR screens that we struggled to stop before he was drafted
It really wasn’t until he want to Pitt that he became a force in pass defense – I haven’t looked at stats on this or anything, that’s just from my memory of him. I look at Holland now, and I think he’s having a bigger impact on our defense than Minkah ever had
Correct
12 pick, a 2021 third-round pick (SF’s comp pick for Robert Saleh hiring) and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023, per sources.
Must have been a slow week for special teams in the AFC, lol.
He had a good game, but best og the week?
Sucks he can get the award but our kicker can’t manage one.
Steve
I’m with you
Most of the time, it seems like Minkah is getting burned if he isn’t making a big play
However, the Steelers pass defense is ranked higher than ours statistically at the parent time (by about 20 yards per game) – some of that might be the first half
Steelers arent elite as a team on pass defense, I think they are just outside of tip 10 – but they are better than us, on paper, at the moment, and Minkah is probably their best DB
Minkah is good at reading the QBs eyes, but he’s fooled a lot by his aggressive play
And he can’t cover for shit, so he’s a pure zone safety, a very good one, but 1 trick pony
Is getting verified resale tickets through ticketmaster the best way to go for dolphins tickets?
Yes. Lots of fakes and cons out there.
Hate to admit but MFF has been performing up to his draft status. He has put up real consistent years. This year he has been a tackling machine.
Piggy’s question was to compare rookie seasons. Going by stats, their #’s are going to be very close.
I still have to give Holland the edge if we are comparing them as rookies. Reason being, I feel Holland has better instincts as a rook than MFF did.
He’s got 82 tackles, almost 7.5 per game, 2 ints, 1 FF, 1 tackle for a loss
Holland 51 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 tfl, 2 ints
The more tackles my FS is making the worse my D is, so don’t really want him making too many, too few and he can’t tackle
Lb Zach Cunningham cut by Texans
?? Damn??
Jamal Adams out for the year
He did his job this year, they beat 49ers twice
No team has ever overcome a 1-7 to make the playoffs.
But no season has ever had 17 games and 7 playoff teams, so it’s bound to happen, why not this year
At Mojo’s. Cuban sandwich. Black beans and rice
Good food there. I’ve been a couple of times. Now I’m hungry
That sounds good
But I hope you asked for a substitute for the ham and pork
Without pork mojos wouldn’t have a menu.

Beautiful over head touch pass that should have been a TD. Instead, dropped pass.
I don’t remember MFF making a big impact, but maybe too much pot, lol.
Holland shows up every game, especially last 4-5, even with the pot….lol.
This sums it up for me too. I see Holland making plays every game. Maybe a couple games with Minkah, but Holland shows up in the game every week.
winning 5 straight is great, is it real or fools gold? see Dave Hyde
I’d say a bit of both, but that’s with any team. Parity . . . You need to have some fools gold and luck to win a lot.
FMFFF That is all
Fart Mother Fuckers, Fart Fart?
FuckMinkahFitzFuckFace
I think the answer Piggy, is Holland
That’s the only acceptable answer

Perfect timing, I will skip the frozen food section right now and continue my Xmas shopping across the street at Canadian Tire
‘My ice cream has hair in it!”
Listen to Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb here, talking about the potential Watson trade, and how Tua has positively reacted to it. Are they patting themselves on the back for being part of the source of the Watson trade rumors? SMMFH 😡
Sorry, I had to get that off my chest. I’m not here to rip anybody’s head off tonight! LOL
LOL. The title of this video should have stopped at “How Much Noise”
I want y’all to keep this in mind before I show you my search results.
This is MR. Pennington in 2008 (his NINTH year in the NFL, led us to the playoffs), behind a very GOOD Tony Sparano O-Line…
vs
This is Tua in 2021, having missed several games with broken ribs and a broken middle finger, WRs leading the NFL in drops and injuries, and behind the #32 rated O-Line in the NFL…
https://stathead.com/tiny/XknqG
Now can one possibly IMAGINE if Tua had the run-support that MR. Pennington had in 2008, with the R&R X-Press?!!
What will Tua look like in his 9th year in the NFL?!!
Imagine if he had Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams
Never mind
Thanks Phelon, going to order tickets today.
It’s going to be interesting to see how this offseason unfolds. I know we still have several games left in the season, but the odds of us making the playoffs are extremely slim and the damage for this year has been done already.
We have money and draft picks, but the important thing is the money. Where and how we spend that money re-signing players or signing FA will be key. We did a terrible job this offseason in that regard.
Other than Waddle and Parker, we don’t have another active roster wideout who will be under contract next year. I’d be fine with resigning Ford and Hollins, bring in another solid vet, while drafting another guy. I know we have guys on injured reserve and practice squad, but I’d like Tua to return with guys he’s spent some time playing with and have stayed on the field during the season.
Everyone knows we need to address and solidify this o-line as well as RB so I won’t spend time on those.
We should get a couple of savvy oline vets in the FA market. Maybe a center and a tackle.
We should hope they do the right thing Boulder
wtf! How do you carry an alligator? lol
“Dolphins wide receiver Mack Hollins said he’s considering purchasing an alligator and will go looking for one this weekend. He said he can carry an alligator until it gets too big. Hollins owns two snakes that he carries around his neck wandering around his neighborhood.”
Tape his mouth shut
He’d be better off with the ole alligator gar
The Miracle in Miami was three years ago today 🐬💥🐧🐽🙏💪
WTF! Trying to get a parking pass for the Jets game and their website says there are none available. Only the free parking areas are available that are a long ass walk and no tailgating. Also says you have to reserve the free parking?
Is this true???
Yep. Stadium parking is a mess because of the formula 1 build out. You can probably find a pass on the secondary market.
SB7,
Grier’s terrible record with FAs is my main concern moving forward. Some seemed like solid acquisitions so I’m not sure how culpable Flores is with them, but they have sucked all three years under Flores.
I didn’t mind musical chairs in 2019 but Grier has had two substantial FA signings in Jones and Ogbah. Everyone else was either a failure or let go early for little reason. That’s not good enough. These guys cost too much for such little performance gain. Van Noy, Flowers, and Fuller were huge wastes. Little, Skura, Hurns were lower level wastes. You just can’t keep missing with limited options available. Can we get 1-2 solid OL in FA? Not looking good based on history.
well I did say this:
“Where and how we spend that money re-signing players or signing FA will be key. We did a terrible job this offseason in that regard.”
I would say Grier has an average record with FA’s, not a terrible one. However last year was a terrible year for Grier FA wise. We look like we’ve nailed the top of the draft.
If we had kept Karras, Flowers, and KVN we wouldn’t have started the season at 1-7. The problem was we let them go too soon. Signing Marvin Jones over Fuller would have gona a long way as well.
I was agreeing with your statement but have a less nice opinion of his FA acquisitions. Last year’s FA class would have been fine, but we dropped them before we got true value which meant a lot of wasted money. I can’t really consider getting one year’s worth of value a deal for those contracts or play level. This year was terrible and the first year really doesn’t count. In the end, we have an always injured WR corp, a weak RB room, and a terrible OL. He buys the groceries.
I see there is a fence over there. I’ll stand behind that, thank you very much, lol.
Gorillas don’t like water for a reason
And Kongs aren’t too keen on lizards
LOL 🦎
That’s awesome

Now can one possibly IMAGINE if Tua had the run-support that MR. Pennington had in 2008, with the R&R X-Press?!!
Also had Lousaka Polite. He was money as far as the short yardage/get the first down. At least that’s how I remember it.
Good call. A blocking FB and short yardage runner. What a novel idea
I still remember Polite knocking the hell out of a DB who tried to tackle him. (I think it was against Dallas?) They had to stop the game to let the DB get his shit together and get off the field. He was a fan favorite. Automatic for 1-2 yards.
He was money on that quick handoff counter. I want to say he was 21 for 21 over a season+ on 3rd and 4th down with 2 yards or less to go.
We had a pretty good and beefy o-line during that time as well. The problem was money spent vs. guys availble. Once the injuries started to pile up, things went downhill, especially Jake Grove our center.
Here’s the most telling stat of all: The Dolphins have trailed only twice during their winning streak, never by more than three points, never in the second half, and have been behind a grand total of 25:35 in playing time. That’s 25 minutes, 35 seconds in five games, which is 300 minutes — by my calculations, that’s 8.5 percent.
well CRAP
Dolphins center Michael Deiter, who returned to play every offensive snap last Sunday against the Giants after missing nine games with a foot injury, was spotted in a walking boot at Wednesday’s walk-through. Whether he re-aggravated the left foot injury is unclear, and the Dolphins aren’t obligated to release an injury report until next Wednesday. Reporters were permitted to watch only 10 minutes.

Liam Eichenberg, OT (2nd round, 42nd overall): B
In Week 13, Eichenberg had another strong outing, but due to one particular play, it wasn’t the near-perfect performance that he had against the Carolina Panthers in Week 12. On a third-and-five in the first quarter with the Dolphins backed up against the team’s own end zone, Eichenberg was beaten on an outside bullrush by Giants pass rusher Quincy Roche, resulting in a sack on Tua Tagovailoa. Per Pro Football Focus, that hurry-turned-sack was the only QB pressure that Eichenberg allowed on the day, but it was a nearly disastrous one given Miami’s position on the field.
It’s encouraging to see Eich starting to put together good starts, especially agqainst the Panthers and Giants who have quality Dlines.
He has looked like he was playing on roller-skates at times this year! Hopefully some of these guys “come out of nowhere” next season with improvements. But hope is a four letter word in my book. Let’s start with a fucking offensive line coach? Huh? Maybe?
I expect a rookie olineman to have growing pains. He’s showing signs of improvement which is what we want to see. As for the rest, I can’t evaluate oline play well enough to know if the coach is the issue or if it’s personnel, so I’m curious to see if we keep Jeanpierre into next year or if we fire him 5 seconds before the season ends, lol.
I also saw him miss a key block on a run or a screen where if he made the block it could have been a bigger play. I am not sold on Eich but at least he is playing and hopefully learning from all of this
Who to root for this weekend to better Miami’s changes of making the playoffs (don’t hold your breath)
Tonight – Vikings over Pittsburgh (will put us only 1/2 game behind Pitt
Sunday:
Cleveland over Baltimore
KC over Las Vegas
Detroit over Denver (again don’t hold that breath)
Giants over Chargers
49rs over Cincinnati (Our draft position be damned!)
Buffalo over Tampa (It works out best for us if Buff wins the East)
It’s going to take a lot and we have to keep winning. It’s a tall order.
I didnt realize tonight’s game had importance for us, although I should have since it’s the steelers and an NFL team.Gives me a reason to watch it.
Lol nfc team
Oddly enough, but I agree on Buffalo, because if they’re tied with us for 2nd in the division, then they get 2nd and we’re eliminated if any other teams are 10-7
I had been thinking in terms of needing 3 losses from Buffalo in order to jump them instead of 2 with the Pets (in addition to us winning week 17), but you make an excellent point. Any 3 way tie including us and Buff and we lose.
I think our only chance is to win that 7th WC spot. I don’t think we’ll jump the Pats or Bills.
All the more reason to root for the Bills. It’s easily possible the Bills end up competing for that 7th spot. They’ve got Tampa and the Pets again and if they lose those game the Bills may end up at 10-7 and we’re almost certainly screwed even if we win out.
And looking at the schedules, the Pets still play at the Colts and the Bills at home. The Colts are a solid team and the Bills will be looking for payback. The Pets could lose those games, and if they do then we jump them with a win in week 17. So that is still very much on the table.
All that said, I don’t think we’re going to win out anyway, but I’m enjoying having a smidge of that four letter word
I think it needs to be acknowledged there was a comment about CP today and I commented/replied to it but it had nothing to do with CP. 😂
We may fare better in a 3 way tie for the 7th spot
Not if Buff is one of the teams tied. Division tie breaker is applied first to remove teams that are tied.
i thought it was comparing records against common opponents among tied teams, the best won-lost-tied percentage is the deciding factor
Herd and her infatuation with old Noodle Arm! 😉
I believe it had a lot to do with her becoming a Fins fan, could be mistaken though.
He played at Marshall!
You know how she is with her Thundering Herd graduates! 😉
Yep
If we lose a game it’s basically no chance. We need to do our part and see how the rest of the teams finish. It’s a very tall order.
