8 WR’s in this 2022 NFL Draft ran official times under 4.4 seconds. Everyone’s getting excited here because we know we need to add talent at the WR position, but I caution, NFL Free Agency precedes the NFL Draft so we have to see how we upgrade our team via Free Agency. We can go crazy over certain guys at various positions, all positions of need for our team like WR, OL, LB, RB and not necessarily in that order, but how we add to the roster in Free Agency will determine how we draft, and what positions will be a priority.
This Miami Dolphins fanbase has gone crazy the last few years because we’ve had so many high picks at our disposal (with mixed results). The top of last year’s draft appears to have been a slam dunk. Jaylen Waddle is the explosive WR we needed and he caught a high volume of passes last season. Jaelan Phillips really came on as the season progressed as a pass rusher. Jevon Holland was an absolute bright spot in the secondary as a safety and showed he is a playmaker. The next 4 picks are a work in progress although I do believe Liam Eichenberg will be one of our starting OT’s, most likely RT. TE Hunter Long had a rough year and didn’t make it easy for the Dolphins to move on from now free agent TE Mike Gesicki. OT Larnel Coleman got a shot game 17 and lasted only 1 half before coming out with an injury and RB Gerrid Doaks spent the season on the PS.
In 2020, armed with three 1st round picks, two 2nd round picks, the Dolphins got only fair results for such a potential haul. QB Tua Tagovailoa was our first pick at #5, followed by young OT Austin Jackson at #18, and then DB Noah Igbinoghene at #30 who’s been invisible in 2 seasons. I’m higher than a lot of folks on Tua, and definitely higher than almost everyone on Austin Jackson. I’m almost willing to say with certainty that Austin Jackson will be our starting LT in 2022. If we address the O-line properly, and give Tua a running game and another weapon at WR/TE, easily done BTW, I think we’ll see a big leap in year 3 for Tua, maybe similarly to what the Bills saw with Josh Allen. Bringing in former Dolphins standout DB’s Sam Madison and Patrick Surtain is a welcome sight, and should be especially good for Noah Igbinoghene. Iggy is signed through 2023 and has a 5th year option for 2024 so he can potentially be under Dolphins control for another 3 seasons. It would be wonderful to get this kid right as he does have lots of talent. Pick #39 OL Robert Hunt has been a promising player on the O-line and looks to be perennial starter. DT Raekwon Davis (Pick #56) had a tough start being injured early but had a decent season and his size and athleticism is a plus. Safety Brandon Jones (Pick #70) had a breakout season and solidified his standing in the secondary. He was impressive doing all the things MFFF was supposed to do, blitzing the QB, playing up at the LOS making tackles. Jones had 5 sacks, 10 QB hits and 79 tackles last season 6 tackles for a loss. This does put fellow safety Eric Rowe’s future here in peril. The lone Dolphins left from this draft is OG Solomon Kindley who both Randy and I don’t believe is finished here either. He was a mauler in the run game in 2020 but was replaced by Liam Eichenberg at LG and eventually Austin Jackson when he was moved inside and Eichenberg to LT. He should be part of the rotation on the O-line because he’s a mover. If he can get himself in better shape, come in a little lighter and quicker, he could be that.
So as we watch the NFL Combine and drool over players, don’t fall in love my friends, because who we get in FA will give us an idea, and only an idea of which way we go in the draft. Odds are we will be filling our roster with a WR, OL, RB, LB in the draft regardless, but the key is what will be the priority and in what order will be looking for those players. Not to bore the heck out of you but I feel we must address the O-line with a minimum of one veteran that we can just put in a spot and consider that spot is taken care of. I said weeks ago, before we even hired former 49ers coach Mike McDaniel as our HC that OG Laken Tomlinson would be a good choice. Now with McD here it makes it even more likely. I know we like C Tyler Linderbaum, the top rated interior OL in this draft, but if we pick up say Ted Karras and Laken Tomlinson in free agency, it makes it less likely we’re going to spend pick #29 or even our next pick on the O-line. If we sign WR Mike Williams or some other starting quality WR then we’re not drafting WR Jameson Williams or any other WR with our top pick. You get the drift, be patient Dolphins fans, we’ll have a better picture on our draft approach once we complete free agency and get our roster remade. In any case, enjoy the combine, it’s always fun to picture certain players in a Dolphins uniform although we all know here most of them never materialize no matter how much we want them and project them here.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

FOIST!
AND OINK!
🐖💨
Patience?
This is the only part of the season that we are used to winning!
Then comes the actual draft – and it all goes down hill from there! 😉
And you call me curmudgeon??? 😜
Zion Johnson pumping 32 reps at the combine. Didn’t someone here say he looks too skinny?
I did. When he was at the podium doing his media availability he looked more like a TE than a OL.
That’s a good thing, he fits the scheme
Yeah, what Steve said . . .
Nice article MikeE! No typos that I could find breezing through it.
Jameson Williams isn’t going to be drafted by Miami regardless of who we get in FA. Book that.
Why do say that? Because of his injury?
Oh, and thank you! I noticed you hit the “like” tab on the blog. I wonder what effect that has. If a blog gets enough likes do other blogs and bloggers notice?
Where is that tab?
Gotta admit they might be on to something
I agree! We should try that here next time a bunch of assholes think because the police shot someone that they can take over a town and burn it and loot it.
I am all in for peaceful protest but no one likes looting and random destruction. Idiots that due ruin the message of the protest
Ken, I am as well, I think it’s crucial that we have the freedom to protest, but things get way out of hand and when they get violent and destroy peoples property the message of the protest gets lost.
We agree.
But, but, but, Nancy Pelosi says “People will do what they do” in reference to the looters and rioters.
We should saran wrap Pelosi to a pole
…then take their picture and shame them on social media
Think we’ll see in FA what we usually do, the positional needs filled, then use the draft to upgrade
With so many FAs on our team we have lots of spots to fill
If Chris Grier gets sick anytime soon, you’re next man up in FA and to send our picks in MikeE 😉
Is this the best tweet in the history of Twitter?
👍
I would guess Russian vehicles have GPS at this point, but still fun. And maybe they don’t. Was surprised to learn that a lot of their trucks and tanks are from the Soviet era.
Russian army was notoriously bad at land navigation. Did not teach rank and file map reading skills
River Cracraft WR, is someone I’m interested in seeing in preseason
27 yrs old Mickey D brought him over from SF, he’s a circus catch specialist, not fast at 4.57 pro day 40 time, undrafted, 6′ 198
He’s a little gritty, but not in a slot receiver kind of way, he played on outside at WSU, but looks like he could play inside or out
Maybe Mickey D is just doing him a favor, but don’t think that’s the case, there’s something to be said about system players, that a new coach brings in from his former team
River isn’t going to light the world on fire, but he could be a good team contributor
https://nypost.com/2022/03/03/joy-behar-fall-on-the-view-face-plants-before-audience/
We also need a punter, Palardy is an FA unlikely to return
Real nice write Mike E. And for sure our needs will change based on free agency. And even then 31 other teams will pick each round no matter who are favorite is at #28 and below.
But this is the time of endless possibilities for the draftniks on the board. Keeps them busy rather than fighting with each other out of boredom. 🙂
Thanks Jon – Doesn’t take much to get a disagreement here with all the grumpy guys and gals here. 🙂

Why do say that? Because of his injury?
No, because a couple of guys on here want him desperately. LOL
Ha! Nuff said, that’s about as good a guarantee that we won’t get that player.
I wouldn’t say desperately, maybe close. lol
He is the most complete WR in this draft. He would take this offense to another level immediately (like Jamar Chase did) teamed up with Waddle. He is willing to do everything and does it well. He is the most polished route runner in this draft. There is a coaching clinic traveling the country who is using tape on him to demonstrate route running techniques.
Anyway, you are right, he won’t be a dolphin. I don’t think he falls close to that far.
Saw that earlier, which means another guy that people love here, TE Dalton Schultz will be re-signed by the ‘Boys
Enemy combatants vs your own American countrymen. There’s a difference that’s very very clear. When the Russians come here I will not be extending them the courtesy of American Civil Roght protections…but that’s just me.
In other words: American protestors and yes..even American looters have inalienable rights here that enemy Russian soldiers/looters do not have in Ukraine.
It looks like those are Ukrainian civilians taped to those poles. I don’t see any army uniforms on either of those guys.
I would understand the looting if it came down to food and fuel but not stealing someone’s belongings because they fled.
But that’s a one off, and not group looting
Looters are looters. Hang’em all.
BBM – I’m not sure about that. Some of the most talented players in previous drafts have made it to round 2 that were coming off season ending injuries, and considering Jameson’s injury was at the very end of the season will factor in. I think it’s possible he goes before we pick but no way is it a lock. You’re basically willing to give that player a season where he may or not be ready to play and may not want to push him.
I love Jahn drops in in the middle of a discussion. I envision a disembodied voice speaking to us. LOL. Good to see you Jahn
Comes with a visual in my mind.

LOL – Pretty accurate!
🤣
Not that it matters at all, but I am still not convinced that this is the genuine Jahndoh. Seems like someone is playing off his name. JahnDON’T.
No, it’s him. I had spoken to him before he came on, the reason he’s using that name is because he couldn’t get back on with his old name, couldn’t find the password and avatar for it. We had emailed back and forth previous to his return.
Sometimes the earth is a jacked up place and you think to yourself “Why is the world like this?”
…then one day you read that God forgot his password, and… “Oh, now I get it.”
LOL — explains a lot
“Now they sit there, hungry, without fuel, demoralized, and we just come in every little while and pop them off. And every day, we are pushing them back.”
— a Ukrainian colonel on the Russian 4-mile long convoy on the road to Kyiv that hasn’t moved in three days.
They need to do it more often.
That’s retarded
Blowup the bridge or the road, setup a boobie trap, make their travels as difficult as possible, then strike
Sorry that was “40-mile convoy.” And remember the Ukraine troops are grossly outnumbered and Russia has air superiority. Hit and run tactics might be all they can do.
All it does it pricks the bear and has no overall bearing, just a wasted effort
Convoy has still been stalled for three days well outside Kyiv. That’s something.
Not based on these attacks
LOL @ Kong
Good write, Mike!
Thanks Tim
Anyone here have an adjustable bed that they love? In the market now, sleeping more upright has been a very effective method to eliminating my vertigo issues. I’m currently just propping up pillows which isn’t the most comfortable. If you have a particular bed, and love it, please let me know. Thanks!
I do. I love raising the bed. No need to prop up pillows anymore. Don’t ask me the brand lol. I bought it at Jordan’s
I will find out the brand
Thanks Ken!
I had it about 2 years ago. I remember just laying in different positions the doctor told me to and all my symptoms went away after 2 months. I remember waking up one morning and it was just completely gone.
I have a Sleep Number. It’s pretty good.
My niece has one and she absolutely loves it, but I really don’t want to spend that high. Thanks Rob!
Mike, I get what you are saying about Williams. More trying to convince myself he won’t be there so I don’t get my hopes up then we don’t take him and I get all mad. lol
Ken – We were considering the GhostBed. It has pretty good reviews. The SleepNumber bed is just outrageously expensive. Not that the GhostBed is cheap, but $4K is better than $7K
We looked at Sleep number and it was like 8k. The one we bought was about 6k but I do like it
I don’t think I will ever spend 7K on a bed. Must be good though.
It is pretty cool. She got all the bells and whistles and I think it might have even been closer to $8K. The Ghost Bed does many of things the SleepNumber does with the exception of automatically adjusting. The base SleepNumber has an attached wired remote control which seems crazy. The better base has a regular battery operated remote and has automatic adjustments like snore control which raises the head of the snoring person which stops the snoring and has foot warming functions. The GhostBed has massaging head and feet capabilities although I can’t imagine either of those being effective.. Most importantly for me is the ability to raise the head of the bed because if I lay flat, I’m going to get that damned vertigo.
Fuck, I would never get out of bed. LOL
I hear in Russia they have taken all independent TV stations off air, blocked facebook and passed a law where people will get up to 15 years in prison for promoting any talk they deem false in regard to what is going on in Ukraine.
I think Facebook shut it down themselves.
That would be in favor of Putin then. You would think facebook would want the people of Russia to see what is going on and the civilians and children being killed in Ukraine. I think I heard right that the Russian govt was blocking FB.
I posted a list the other night of companies that are pulling out of Russia and Facebook was one of them. When the Russian people realize how much their lives are being impacted by Putin’s war in the Ukraine, maybe they will revolt in masses.
Geez, “any talk they deem false” sounds like a dicey situation
No different than what FB does here, except maybe the imprison part
There’s quite a difference between being in prison and not being in prison
https://www.theverge.com/2022/3/4/22960739/russia-internet-block-facebook-meta-roskomnadzor-ukraine
I read that Russians opposition and Ukrainian supporters are doing things like putting political messages on restaurant review sites, but assume such will be cut off before you know it.
Probably

hey a guy can dream.
Yeah, that would be a dream! They probably won’t update their draft order and player rankings until April.
yeah i doubt some fall that far
LOL Steve – It’s not FB putting people in prison although I totally understand where you’re coming from. Their fact checkers have their own agenda for sure.
Said except that
I do understand them not wanting misinformation on their platform because people post total bullshit all the time. Mostly political nonsense and it comes from both sides of the aisle.
But it’s not meant to be a news sight, you have to take what you read with a grain of salt
No different from the bs the media puts out
Of course they do
You would too if you owned a company that provided a forum for people to communicate. You don’t want to be associated with every crazy rant from every crazy person just because you permitted them to be on your forum
Forcing a company like Twitter or Facebook to permit people to say whatever they want on their forums isn’t exactly consistent with the first amendment
Free speech means you don’t have to say it too and that applies to being a forum that provides a space for people to express themselves
Piggy, agreed. There needs to be common sense in most things we do as people. Free speech doesn’t mean it’s okay to threaten the lives of others.
I know it’s early for Friday music but I have to take a nap before work in a couple hours. I know many don’t like rap but this is easy listening and easy to follow.
The Russian people are in a terrible situation. Many of them are against the invasion but can’t really do anything about it. They will suffer needlessly unless somehow they can overthrow Putin. I’m sure that wouldn’t be easy to accomplish.
Agreed. I’m sure there are assassins that are looking to take him out but good luck getting to him.
Big shock the communist/socialist country is going against what most people want there
No different from the jackoff in Canada or here during the pandemic
Big govt, socialist govt is not for the people they claim they are
Big government is never good for the people.
Russia is no longer a communist or socialist country. It is a Federation and their economy is essentially a capitalist economy
But they are a totalitarian nation.
They aren’t communist or socialist anymore and haven’t been for quite a while
Vladimir Putin was handpicked by Russian Oligarchs who vaulted themselves to power after the fall of USSR through private business. Nothing in the way Russia handles it business now compares to the way they handled business in the USSR – both are totally wackadoo, but this isn’t communism or socialism by any stretch
What Ken said too…..lol
Putin’s Russia “No different from….here during the pandemic.” Really? If anything we had an avalanche of free press on the issue.
Yes Tim it is an authoritarian state. Probably closest analogy is Nazi Germany
Oh there are quite a few totalitarian nations at the moment.
People post memes with quotes being said from celebrities that aren’t true. That’s slander.
Not unless it’s done with malice as they are public figures
So it’s no big deal if someone attaches untrue words to a public figure on a public forum?
Pretty much unless it is done with malice or alleges one of the per se categories of libel such as crime of moral turpitude, theft, dishonesty and I think there is one more that I can’t remember
Malice includes a reckless disregard of the truth. Should cover such memes unless they are obvious satire.
Hey Mike E
That was the perfect synopsis.
just a tad grumpy about us having to wait for FA.
Well, he is an older than dirt grumpy old fart😜
🥸
Thanks Naples
Piggy – FB tends to lean a certain way, so they tend to moderate the same way. You can put a meme that says Trump has three heads and is behind the Russian invasion and it won’t get flagged. Say the same about Biden and it gets the fact checker flag. I mean Zuckerberg is about as far as left as there is. It’s OK, it’s his baby, so he can do as he pleases, but I still find those things amusing, and annoying at the same time.
They are allowed to lean anyway they like
So are you
So am I
That’s what free speech is
I am leaning to the left…oh you meant politics
He basically said that.
LOL @ but I still find those things amusing, and annoying at the same time.
That’s how I am with it too. I laugh at it when I see it a few times but after seeing it 25 times I start to get annoyed.
Yeah Tim, it gets frustrating.

This made me spit coffee out on my desk. LOL for realz
LOL, that was funny.
😂
I will say this Tim and Ken
It’s a little easier for a former totalitarian communist state to make a transition to a totalitarian state that is no longer communist – bc it’s basically exercising the same levels of control over the same people
Part of that control is psychological
If you talk to anyone from that states who came to the US or are around them, you see it in their day to day behavior
So Russia formerly being the USSR isn’t irrelevant
The USSR was also a totalitarian government but for very different reasons. But I get what you are saying in that there was not a long history of democracy and free speech in Russia so it makes easier for the current government to be totalitarian and that is clearly true
Yes, dictatorships are still dictatorships regardless of their political systems. You know that with Cuba. They had a right wing dictator in Batista who was overthrown by a left wing dictator in Castro.
Piggy – I guess we have a different view on what “free speech” is. The scenario I just mentioned where someone can post a meme that stats Trump is behind the Russian invasion and it will go unfettered by the FB fact checker police, but do the same about a Democratic figure and the fact checker tags it immediately. While I suppose that’s still “free speech”, it isn’t necessarily fair.
It doesn’t have to be fair to everyone to be free speech
It just has to be free
I don’t think we have a different view of free speech
I have no problem with skepticism. I don’t think you are going to find anyone more skeptical than me on any subject. I’m an untrusting jerk when it comes down to it….lol
If you find them liberally biased, I don’t think I disagree
I’m just saying it’s their right to be that way
Healthy skepticism is great But the expectation that a private company equally satisfies everyone is unrealistic
And I think modern day republicans are killing the party’s ideas by being overly concerned with who is liberally biased. You can’t become a party of ideas if you are constantly concerned with being an opposition party. Modern day conservatism has reduced itself to contrarians. There’s a bigger political picture that affects every party, and that’s that a 2 party dominated system will always be opposition parties – but to me, republicans are much too concerned with biases instead of plotting forward with ideas
I would liken it to this. Imagine if as your changing channels going from CNN to MSNBC, to FoxNews, To Newsmax and to OAN and there was a red banner at the bottom of the screen on Fox News, Newsmax and OAN that said “Our fact checkers find these opinions to false”. I’d say more people use FB than watch any of the above news channels, including CNN and MSNBC, so that’s why it’s unfair and not balanced I do believe there are people out there not quite intelligent enough to understand who owns FB and how he has set up the platform to do those things.
It wouldn’t bother me at all if there were persistent fact checkers on all those channels
That makes it easier to be a skeptic….lol
Piggy – I can agree with you on the Republican party worrying too much about things they can’t control but I do find society is heading in the wrong direction with all the nonsensical labeling and sensitivity training and such. I hate that the .000000000001% wags the 99.9999999999%, but that’s another story.
My biggest beef with ultra conservatives is it seems they want the Republican Party to be all about controlling everything and physically or financially punishing anyone who disagrees.
Meanwhile, the ultra liberals seem to want the Democratic Party to socially re-engineer society to make heroes out of people with the most extremely divergent opinions.
But I definitely agree with the second part that tiny but loud minorities can seemingly force policy that most people don’t ascribe to, just because they shame everyone who disagrees as if their opinion is the only morally correct one.
An opinion can’t be false. Or true.
It’s just an opinion. It does not have the same value as a fact.
Only facts can be false. Or true.
“2+2=8” is a false fact.
These should all be identified and called out so innocent people aren’t misled.
“Blue cheese dressing is nasty” is an opinion. I agree. Other people might disagree.
These should both be allowed, because America is a free country.
Sorry, but “blue cheese dressing is nasty” is a fact. lol
It’s like eating creamy toe jam. Now, that’s an opinion. 😉
Thank you for laughing. I think it is important to be willing to laugh.
As much as I share your opinion on that, it’s still not a fact.
An example of what I’m saying is I know a woman on FB who has made posts with doctors who are against the vaccines, it is their medical opinions as qualified disease researching MD’s to make these statements but they were flagged and then removed and the person was temporarily banned. It’s just one example of the bias they have.
Without seeing these posts, I cannot determine if they are indeed false facts or not. If they are false facts, they should be removed, whether they are for or against vaccines.

I love this draft.
Piggy, I agree that Republicans have become more contrarian but so have the Democrats. There are old school conservatives who don’t like how far freedom of expression and lifestyles have gone because it doesn’t fit with their personal moral and religious beliefs. Liberals are more open to that. However, liberals also try to restrict forms of free speech that doesn’t align with their ideologies and narrative. They resort to calling people names like racists and Nazi’s if you don’t fully agree with them. That’s basically the divide we have in this country more so than capitalism vs. socialism. Most of the youth in this country who claim to support socialism don’t even know what it means.
The political divide we have in this country is one giant contradiction. Neither side can claim they truly believe in freedom with the things they stand for. Both sides discriminate against their citizens and that’s not supporting individual freedom. That’s tribalism.
^ well said Tim
Well that opens the door for multiple parties. I don’t think we would be here if we weren’t so dependent on 2 powerful parties setting the tone
If you had listened to that song I posted TM talks about it in a way. He see’s things the way many of us do as far as the BS from both sides and politicians in general. The other two guys are more right but TM more middle of the road but leaning right in recent years.
“Both political parties are equally just as evil
They been working for themselves
Don’t give a damn about the people.”
I love blue cheese dressing
What’s wrong with you guys?
^
One of my favorites
ewww … it’s so … moldy.
By the way
What are you guys still using Facebook?
I left Facebook more than a year ago
I have so many friends that use it, I guess that’s why.
I’m on it to connect with family and friends who I don’t see much because so many live all over the place. I also connected with a lot of family on my father’s side that I never met because he was out of my life when I was 3 years old. It has a lot of great purposes but it can also be a shit show for sure. You don’t have to be on it all the time when it becomes a shit show, you can sign off. Just like this blog. 😉
I am still there. It’s good for keeping in touch with people I don’t normally see…and cat videos
“Free speech means you don’t have to say it too and that applies to being a forum that provides a space for people to express themselves.”
Piggy is that like a baker refusing to make a cake for a gay wedding?
I bet he does agree with that even if he doesn’t like it. That’s how I am too.
Yes it’s like that baker, except if it’s discriminatory based on a protected class, it doesn’t matter whether it’s free speech or not
In that state there was a public accommodation law that didn’t permit him to deny the service
The baker in the Supreme Court case was permitted not to bake that cake for the gay couple at the end of the day and it was actually a 7-2 decision
Free speech doesn’t invalidate every other legitimate laws. But if a law goes to far, the federal courts will reel it in and I guess they found the public accommodation law went too far
By the way you are being aggressively contrarian….
Always
I heard somewhere that the punter Palardy caused several of the misses by our Kicker last year, and that is why he might not be resigned.
hmmm
I really thought several of his misses were because he was asked to kick from very far out as in this was another bit of bad coaching by Flo, in lieu of having a better offensive game plan.
Kicks over 50 yards out have a naturally lower percentage and should only be used as a last resort, not a regular part of a game plan or a rescue mission for poor play-calling.
but
if the punter can’t spot the ball consistently for the PK, he needs to be replaced, because that takes points off the board and is demoralizing.
Deep Thoughts from Mike McDaniel. The interviewers clearly didn’t know the first one was stolen from Bill & Ted’s Most Excellent Adventure.
LOL
Piggy – Another political party or parties would be fantastic. I can’t stand either party right now although I probably lean more right than left. Not that much though.
This is definitely the new theme with our team…communication, communication, communication.
It’s a complete 180 from Flores who at times could barely string coherent sentences together.
I’m loving the energy of our team right now. We’re definitely contenders to win the offseason, let’s just hope it translates to success on the field.
A marked change for sure
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33422236/buffalo-bills-grant-wr-cole-beasley-permission-seek-trade
Interesting, he is getting up there in age, 32. I would wait for them to have to cut him then try to give him a 2 year deal. Regardless, at least he would be out of Buffalo.
A vet like him could end up in WR needy AZ.
Does Pat McAfee own a shirt with sleeves or are his drawers full of wife beaters only?
LOL, but wife beaters is not nice to say. 😉
I should start being politically correct now? At this late stage of my life? LOL
I too wish there were more choices for political parties, but at the same time I would be concerned with how many parties are allowed “in”
Let’s say there is enough support to get a moderate right party onto the ballot in all 50 states. Then a moderate left party wants in, then a FAR right party, then a FAR left party. Next thing you know we are Italy and can’t form a government and need to have reelections or a porn star becomes speaker of the house!
Who cares if a porn star is speaker of the house
Having multiple parties on the legislative branch would lead to pragmatic solutions instead of partisan fights
have you ever seen the chaos that is the Italian Parliament? Humans are humans, I don’t care how many parties there are. They will not be pragmatic! LOL
Are you saying Nancy Pelosi wasn’t a porn star?????
Every time in our history when a 3rd party has emerged usually one of the two parties then in existence dies. Our system of government doesn’t seem to support a 3rd party
There are plenty of Democratic republics that have multiple parties. It’s not inherently antagonistic to our system
3rd parties don’t ever kill one of the first two parties in our lifetime, they just take the vote from one of them and make it easier for one side to win. Four parties would solve that
The reason it hasn’t worked it the US is bc we are so ingrained in doing it the way we’ve been doing it since Andrew Jackson
But we are way past the current system working
I think if you asked most people of the current 2 party dominated system is effective, most would admit it’s not
Besides, death of a political party is no reason to not do what’s better for the country as a whole and pragmatic solutions rather than partisan fights is much better for the country. I don’t care if the democrat or Republican Party dies. I’m not a carrying card member
If it comes down to Biden/Trump, this would be a perfect time for an independent. Is there another Ross Perot out there? Does the Reform Party even still exist?
I am all for porn stars in politics…well I just all for porn stars
Mike, porn star and blowing your way to the top are 2 different things. Just ask Kamala.
LMAO!!!! Every time I see Pelosi it looks like she’s swallowing . . .
She is, but it’s her dentures that she’s swallowing.
Press conferences could be funny though.
Madam speaker, do you swallow?
Madam speaker, do you do anal?
Madam speaker, have you ever had sex with a goat?
Madam speaker, is it true you could drive a truck through your vagina?
Moldy food should be thrown away. that is all.
Dry aged steak too?
the moldy part.
what is your obsession with Nancy Pelosi? Enough with the aged roast beef already!
We all wish there were term limits but there should, at least, be a rule when you can’t complete even one sentence you are forced to retire.
Has anyone ever seen a throat more suited to taking one deep that this throat? It has expandable room.
I can’t help but think Mitch McConnell has a shell under his suit jacket. That man is a human/turtle hybrid
Yeah, that turtle from the Bug’s Buddy cartoon.
Few people realize this but he played Master Oogway in Kung Fu Panda
I always thought he looked like a turkey.
Am I not turtley enough for you?
Am I not turtley enough for the turtle club?
Lyric version
I am all for term limits. Senators two terms, house 6 terms so both are maxed out at 12 years. Then they can move on and serve in the house or senate if they can get elected to the other branch if that is their desire.
I don’t get term limits at all
Asking for people who don’t want to make a career out of politics is asking for lesser candidates
Wow, I don’t comprehend that at all Piggy. I think so many politicians come in looking to do the right thing, help people. The longer they stay in office, the more jaded and comfortable they get and their original mission disappears and then they just operate on the take. Clean house every 4 years is best for everyone. There are also diferent offices to strive for so for instance Chuck Schumer who hasn’t done a f*cking good thing in over 40 years can try his hand at some other office if he must stay in politics
Could not agree more. In the states I worked the ones with term limits the leadership didn’t become fat happy and entrenched. In fact you’d often see the head of the Assembly or Senate lose his position like one year before he got limited out cause everyone knew his leverage was decreasing.

Yes! lol

I agree with Rock on term limits but even more extreme limits.
I say add up all the time served and it can’t be more than 10 years.
I’d include Pres and VP in that 10 years.
I’d add in Gov of a state as well in that 10 years.
We could work out a partial ratio for things like mayor of a city and sec of state, defense, etc. all the big ones. Say a mayor year would be 1/4 and Attorney General would be a 1/2 year equivalency.
Soon as they end 10 years, they must stop.
No more gov jobs at all, even if not on the list, after the 10th year.
I’d start by changing senators to 4 years.
That would make it harder to bribe them and harder for special interests to control them and harder for them to set up control back home and the “machine” and “boss” systems.
The original intent was for a citizen-based government, not an elitist oligarchy.
and while I’m at it, I’d make them be part of regular social security, service-matched not lifetime pension, stripped perks, bare minimum paid staff, etc.
Hear-hear!
The problem with term limits is getting someone to vote to limit their own power….Wait, what? You want me to limit myself? Next discussion please.
The smallest problem. The larger issue would be getting it ratified by all 50 states because it is set out in the constitution.
That’s why you tend to see it in states that also allow referendums and that take effect with a grand father’s clause for current legislators.
I understand there are definitely flaws and abuses in the way our government operates but I do think there is something to be said a class of professional politicians. People who have been in the system and know how to get legislation done instead of people who by the time they figure that out. What I think needs to change is campaign finance laws. Give everyone equal time on air and equal funding like several countries already do.
Yeah if you want to help Ukrainian refugees World Central Kitchen is the way to go. Just amazing and efficient too. Partner with local relief efforts doing the most. And has now spread efforts into Ukraine.
but I do think there is something to be said a class of professional politicians
I agree, they suck! that’s what is to be said!
Besides, “Class” and “Politicians” don’t belong in the same sentence!
I made my decision, purchased the GhostBed. I’ll let you know how it is when I get it. They do have a fully refundable 101 day policy. If we don’t like it, we can get a full refund less shipping of course.
👍
try lugging that back to the UPS store to get boxed up to send back…..
If you pick it up and return it with your Haitian canoe you won’t have to pay shipping.
LOL – Damn Tim, I should have thought of that. I can just imagine their faces when I show up.
Mike: (calls) I’m here to pick up my bed.
Store Rep: Okay where are you?
Mike: In the river behind the building?
Store Rep: Where?
Mike: I’m in the fucking river behind the building?
Store Rep: (whispers) He said he’s in the river behind the building.
Mike: I can hear you there sizzle chest, let’s get moving alright there Jerky!
Store Rep: (silence)
I like the idea of term limits and a 3rd party but I’ve kind of given up on it. The best way is for the people to vote them out after they’ve been in office too long. We’ve got the power but too many people don’t do it. That would also help turn over the government with some new voices and ideas.
Rock, they’re individual boxes. Each base has its own box and each mattress does too. I have a minivan, I could fit all of them in there easily by folding the 2nd and 3rd rows into the floor.
Three OL prospects who were linked to us as possible fits for our scheme were in the top 4 in bench reps.
1st OG Zion Johnson 32 reps
tied 2nd OG Cole Strange 31 reps
4th OT Bernhard Raimann 30 reps
Centers Cam Jurgens and Alec Linstrom both 25 reps
Don’t think they are done yet though. May have just been first group.
He’s real.
I think first group of RB’s started bench. Just a few so far and none we have been looking at.
You mean Walker, Hall, Spiller, Ford etc? None of them are doing the bench press?
He’s funny as hell!
Speaking of South Park, in the last episode they hilariously retconned Token’s name to Tolkien and basically said that everyone who thought his name was Token this whole time is a racist. (tongue in cheek of course)
Freakin’ hilarious
40 times so far
Fastest OT Kellen Diesch 4.89
Center Cam Jurgens 2nd fastest with 4.92
OT Charles Cross 4.95
Some other good times but not sure about their fit.
I think Charles Cross is going top 15.
Did Linderbaum skip the bench?
Broad jump
1st OG Cole Strange 10′
3rd OT Bernhard Raimann
I have the combine on and I don’t really care about the 40 for OL. But the agility drills that are on now do show how guys move, their footwork and if they’re fluid or stiff.
I think if OL have speed it will also show up in agility drills more times than not.
I was just saying that side to side forward and backwards movement is what they’re going to deal with in games as opposed to running straight for a lot of yards. It doesn’t hurt to run a good 40, but I put more stock in the agility stuff.
Remember that LB (name?) Piggy liked but he was really bad in agility drills? He was really productive in college but didn’t make it in the NFL.
Not seeing anything on Linderbaum. Only thing I can think of is there is another group later.
OT Raimann also 3rd in vertical also. OG Strange tied for 7th.
Doesn’t look like either ran the 40 in their group.
My second one before going to bed. Another new one by Yelawolf.
Politicians are simply a reflection of us, so, you know, be the change…blah, blah, blah.
You just gave me my Friday night tune. 🙂
BBM,
Linderbaum has an injured foot, and he isn’t doing the combine. Either that or he just didn’t want to go out there with all those big guys and not measure up! Lol
This is a tune from one of the best selling albums of all time. It kind of speaks to what’s going on in the world today and this was from 1973.

Let’s see. I’m on Facebook but rarely post anything. I like blue cheese dressing. I’m for term limits. Free speech too. You don’t need career politicians that learn the system to get legislation through. You need a system that isn’t so bureaucratic that it takes years to get something done. McDaniel is awesome. If he coaches as well as he interviews, we are set. Love the random stuff he says.
We are sympatico..
Settle down Marine
Herd, Mike McDaniel is different but you never hear anyone say a bad thing about him. In fact they gush about him. I think that’s because he’s so transparent. Guys want to play for him.
Who needs to come get their son?
Mike E. says:

BBM – I’m not sure about that. Some of the most talented players in previous drafts have made it to round 2 that were coming off season ending injuries, and considering Jameson’s injury was at the very end of the season will factor in. I think it’s possible he goes before we pick but no way is it a lock. You’re basically willing to give that player a season where he may or not be ready to play and may not want to push him.
————-
The way I see it, McDaniel signed a 4-year deal and there’s no mandate to win NOW in his first year. What’s more, we’re in the sweet spot at R1P29 to draft a great talent who may slip due to a recent injury (mind you, not a career-threatening injury). So IMO, this bodes well for us to take Jameson… as opposed to a team who is in “WIN NOW, or everybody is fired” mode.
Yes, there may be a team who takes Jameson before us… but I would not be the least bit surprised if he falls to us, either. And if he’s there for us, pull the trigger. JMO
Addionally, I can’t see a rebuilding team taking Jameson early, either. Can’t see him going top-15, and I can’t see a top-8 team drafting him, either. It will be interesting to see where he lands… hopefully it’s with us.
Any Amari Cooper takers out there on the blog, should he be outright cut by Dallas?
I say nay, but that’s just me. He’s going to cost a pretty penny and I believe the future of our WR corps will be built on youth and speed.
FA WRs cost $$$, and we can avoid over-paying (ie: Cowboys) by drafting well at the position.
Depends on the price.
He’s a good player. He could help us but he’s a high dollar investment I’d rather get Devante Adams at that price range.
I hear ya, yet I’m not sure I’d want either ($$$).

From last year (see the date)
And Liam was damn near flawless upon Notre Dame going to an outside zone blocking scheme in 2020…
https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/notre-dame/2020/10/07/notre-dame-football-blocking-scheme-changes-aim-make-ol-elite/5907643002/
IMO, Liam is the future at one of our Tackle positions… I’d prefer him to protect Tua’s blindside, to be honest. Yet, he’s such a STUD at the LT position.
I believe we should sign one stud Tackle via FA… but where do we place Liam, first: LT or RT? Any thoughts, fellas?
IMO We need 1 starting #1 tackle in FA money be damned!
Draft a Center and maybe a tackle late if they like one?
Let the rest fight for the positions left!!
I want y’all to note the “outside zone blocking scheme”… and that is what Mike McDaniel specializes in.
I think he’s solid whichever side you decide to put him on. He may very well end up being one of the best olinemen we’ve drafted in a long time.
NO on Amari Cooper. He makes no difference on any team.
Yeah, man. I agree. He may be talented and all, but he’s not much of a difference maker… especially for the $$$ he demands.
And as far as an Alabama connection to Tua, they didn’t play together (seperated by 2 seasons).
Not for what he’ll cost but I think he’s a good player and would produce but he somehow got to a high price level that isn’t equal to his production despite the production being pretty good just the same. Cooper for 12 mil a year is a steal. Cooper for 20 is a rip off and I still don’t want to pay 16 but at 14 I’m probably in.
I think IF the price is right, then alright. However, I don’t anticipate the price to be right.
Outside the box thought: if Zion Johnson could be converted to Center, he’d be worth his weight in gold (think Mike Pouncey) as a puller in our ZBS. He doesn’t even need to be converted to Center to be great in the NFL, but he’d be STELLAR as a future Center… OR Guard.
I’d draft him as a G/C or C/G, and never look back. IMO, if Jameson and Linderbaum are both off the board when we select, Zion would probably be my guy at this point in time, tied with Jahan Dotson.
Oh yeah, Friday night music. A buddy of mine saw the new version of “The Stand”. Said it wasn’t too bad compared to the original. This song always comes to mind when thinking about “The Stand”…

From PFF: Liam Eichenberg played through a game last year with a swollen-shut eye.

Maybe that explains why he missed so many blocks…oh wait it was only one game

I need more cowbells 🐕
Mmmmmm…..Organized guerilla warfare…..tasty….

Have a guess one of these units is going to nickname themselves the Wolverines.
Without a doubt
Araiza’ holds the NCAA records for punting average in a season (51.19), punts over 50 yards (39), and punts over 60 yards (18). If it turned out Fields was worth a first rounder…. the kid has to be worth a 4th or 5th.
I am thinking 5th, unless a team has a butt load of picks.
Congrats Big Mike! Now sign a team friendly deal.
