8 WR’s in this 2022 NFL Draft ran official times under 4.4 seconds. Everyone’s getting excited here because we know we need to add talent at the WR position, but I caution, NFL Free Agency precedes the NFL Draft so we have to see how we upgrade our team via Free Agency. We can go crazy over certain guys at various positions, all positions of need for our team like WR, OL, LB, RB and not necessarily in that order, but how we add to the roster in Free Agency will determine how we draft, and what positions will be a priority.
This Miami Dolphins fanbase has gone crazy the last few years because we’ve had so many high picks at our disposal (with mixed results). The top of last year’s draft appears to have been a slam dunk. Jaylen Waddle is the explosive WR we needed and he caught a high volume of passes last season. Jaelan Phillips really came on as the season progressed as a pass rusher. Jevon Holland was an absolute bright spot in the secondary as a safety and showed he is a playmaker. The next 4 picks are a work in progress although I do believe Liam Eichenberg will be one of our starting OT’s, most likely RT. TE Hunter Long had a rough year and didn’t make it easy for the Dolphins to move on from now free agent TE Mike Gesicki. OT Larnel Coleman got a shot game 17 and lasted only 1 half before coming out with an injury and RB Gerrid Doaks spent the season on the PS.
In 2020, armed with three 1st round picks, two 2nd round picks, the Dolphins got only fair results for such a potential haul. QB Tua Tagovailoa was our first pick at #5, followed by young OT Austin Jackson at #18, and then DB Noah Igbinoghene at #30 who’s been invisible in 2 seasons. I’m higher than a lot of folks on Tua, and definitely higher than almost everyone on Austin Jackson. I’m almost willing to say with certainty that Austin Jackson will be our starting LT in 2022. If we address the O-line properly, and give Tua a running game and another weapon at WR/TE, easily done BTW, I think we’ll see a big leap in year 3 for Tua, maybe similarly to what the Bills saw with Josh Allen. Bringing in former Dolphins standout DB’s Sam Madison and Patrick Surtain is a welcome sight, and should be especially good for Noah Igbinoghene. Iggy is signed through 2023 and has a 5th year option for 2024 so he can potentially be under Dolphins control for another 3 seasons. It would be wonderful to get this kid right as he does have lots of talent. Pick #39 OL Robert Hunt has been a promising player on the O-line and looks to be perennial starter. DT Raekwon Davis (Pick #56) had a tough start being injured early but had a decent season and his size and athleticism is a plus. Safety Brandon Jones (Pick #70) had a breakout season and solidified his standing in the secondary. He was impressive doing all the things MFFF was supposed to do, blitzing the QB, playing up at the LOS making tackles. Jones had 5 sacks, 10 QB hits and 79 tackles last season 6 tackles for a loss. This does put fellow safety Eric Rowe’s future here in peril. The lone Dolphins left from this draft is OG Solomon Kindley who both Randy and I don’t believe is finished here either. He was a mauler in the run game in 2020 but was replaced by Liam Eichenberg at LG and eventually Austin Jackson when he was moved inside and Eichenberg to LT. He should be part of the rotation on the O-line because he’s a mover. If he can get himself in better shape, come in a little lighter and quicker, he could be that.
So as we watch the NFL Combine and drool over players, don’t fall in love my friends, because who we get in FA will give us an idea, and only an idea of which way we go in the draft. Odds are we will be filling our roster with a WR, OL, RB, LB in the draft regardless, but the key is what will be the priority and in what order will be looking for those players. Not to bore the heck out of you but I feel we must address the O-line with a minimum of one veteran that we can just put in a spot and consider that spot is taken care of. I said weeks ago, before we even hired former 49ers coach Mike McDaniel as our HC that OG Laken Tomlinson would be a good choice. Now with McD here it makes it even more likely. I know we like C Tyler Linderbaum, the top rated interior OL in this draft, but if we pick up say Ted Karras and Laken Tomlinson in free agency, it makes it less likely we’re going to spend pick #29 or even our next pick on the O-line. If we sign WR Mike Williams or some other starting quality WR then we’re not drafting WR Jameson Williams or any other WR with our top pick. You get the drift, be patient Dolphins fans, we’ll have a better picture on our draft approach once we complete free agency and get our roster remade. In any case, enjoy the combine, it’s always fun to picture certain players in a Dolphins uniform although we all know here most of them never materialize no matter how much we want them and project them here.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

WTF is this?!!
It’s actually kind of exciting
Spiders and parachutes – that’s a marvel movie
I don’t like your definition of “exciting”, Pigster! LOL
A spider? You should see their webs….lol.
I walk out on my deck every year and inevitably one make one.
It’s not a fucking conspiracy….lmao. It’s nature…lol
I wouldn’t trade Tua for Russell Wilson straight up! Take that Omar!!!
Tua will be the best ever
Just read up on this ‘Joro spider’… at least it’s not venomous, and their webs tend to trap lots of stink bugs (something that is very prevalent over here in PA).
They don’t stand a chance against our Dobson flies though. One Dobson fly could probably consume the entire Joro spider population in a matter of hours. So much for hope.
^ That’s a hatchling, see. Our Dobson flies generally grow to the size of pterodactyl once fully grown within months.
Page turn 😃
Do you really need to read the story to know this guy is a meth head? People like this are the reason I believe in situational forced sterilization…
One of my favorite lines is about in a previous arrest how he ‘eluded police but was later taken into custody’. I bet it took a whole team of detectives to track him down. Why bother running when you have a giant red arrow on your forehead? lol
https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/careersandeducation/crime-pays-tattoo-guy-arrested-after-yet-another-police-pursuit/ar-AAUL50W
At least he got his exercise in with a good run
W-O-W!!! LMAO!!!
Now, if this guy was on the straight and narrow, never been busted, a real law-abiding citizen and he had this tattoo, I’d probably feel different and have a lot of respect for him taking the whole ‘irony’ thing to another level…
As a matter of fact, if he was a banker or some white collar worker, having that tattoo would be one of my favorite stories ever 🤣🤣
Is that really a tattoo or something his Dad, Mom, Bro, Sis or buddy drew on his forehead while he was passed out?
LOL @ Stanger mentioning people who could have drew that on his head. What about grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, cousin, wife, girlfriend or pet monkey?
Lol
yikes … I’m not afraid of bugs, but that dobson fly is a monster!
Monster, indeed!
Guys , I’m not feeling any love for Mr Streveler…..
Any Oliver Stone fans here?
“I do remember Wes Welker taking a shot of, I think, Jack Daniels before the game too because he was trying to warm up. ‘He’s like, ‘TB, come on get a shot!’ And I’m like, ‘I’m not taking a shot before the game.’ Because Wes was so old school. He was like, ‘I’ve gotta take it!’ And he did. He went out there and was wearing no sleeves. He was so fired up for the game. It was hilarious.”
— Brady on Welker before a frigid game in Chicago
“He did. He did rip a shot. And it was Jack Daniels. What a maniac. I love him.”
— Gronk, who probably brought the bottle of JD, on the same
Note: Welker finished with eight catches for 115 yards
Oliver Stone produced a 2016 documentary on Ukraine entitled, “Ukraine on Fire”. Apparently, our oligarchs here in the USA decided to suddenly BAN it on YouTube… now they don’t want us to see it for obvious reasons: they are trying to hide something from us.
You can still view it here: https://rumble.com/vwxxi8-ukraine-on-fire.html
I’ve never been a fan of Oliver Stone… but I am now. Crazy how orientation is changing by the days, weeks, and months.
He famously said that he didn’t think Russia would invade Ukraine a few days before it happened
In his documentary he interviewed Putin and has been kind of defensive of his motives
I admire that he doesn’t shy away from controversy
But he’s been wrong a lot about a lot of those controversies
I don’t know about YouTube, but you can rent it on Amazon prime – it’s widely available in the US
Speaking of documentaries about Ukraine, Netflix has made this one widely available
And it gives people a real good idea about how long this has been going on
When the invasion commences
My first thought was “why the heck is piggy posting a picture of a balloon whisk?” Lol

Tim came to mind cause the “artist” in my freshman dorm once drew a full back naked lady with grossly exaggerated genitalia in indelible black ink on me while I was passed out in college.
And I had to take a communal shower after wrestling practice five times a week. That was fun. Took like a month to go away, but least she was pretty and the artwork was stellar.
LOL
My friends did some crazy shit like that. I never got hit with it but painting toe nails was popular.
Toe nail painting comes off with nail polish remover. Word got around and I was cornered at many parties by guys wanting to see it. Which I did.
It was funny waking up and going into the living room and seeing my friend/roomate with his feet up on the coffee table with his toenails painted red. He took it well though. LOL
Toba I forgot all about that guy. Maybe we have our Crash Jensen in house already.
Or at very least, our backup QB
Someone else looking for an OT
It keeps getting worse for us in the OT market
We better throw a lot of $ at some one
Most teams have OL issues so the competition was always there.
I wonder if a top tackle is our target in FA or is it center and guard and then look to continue developing Jackson and Eichenberg at tackle? I understand that doesn’t make anyone feel great about our OL, but these are still very young guys with only 2 and 1 years of NFL experience. We’ll see how we approach it.
You know where I stand. I’ve just about penciled in Jackson at LT and Eichenberg at RT
I’ve got severe reservations about Austin Jackson, Bro. If we’re ‘hoping’ that he can be that guy, we’re in deep poop.
I foresee us signing a FA Tackle, regardless. JMO.
And mind you, I’m talking about signing a HIGH PRICED FA Tackle. We cannot allow blind faith in Jackson to dictate our future: he’s been absolutely HORRIFIC for us.
Going into the season with Jackson and Eichenberg as our tackles is what we did in 2021
I don’t think we can rely on that
let at least one sit back and develop. That means signing least one free agency tackle or drafting one at 29 which isn’t an spot ideal to get a solid OT
I can actually see that. A lot of it will come down to coaching a new system and techniques. Jackson will be 23 in August with 2 years NFL experience under his belt, and Eichenberg just turned 24 with 1 season under his belt.
I’ve made a point about how we went too young too early on the OL in 2021. But maybe we can get to another level with a couple of vets added to these guys along with Hunt. Deiter is okay and versatile, so maybe he can be a solid backup. I think it’s time to move on from Davis. He is what he is. He’s a good guy but he really doesn’t excel at any position. If he remains it should be as nothing more than a backup.
The Niners have had a good running game, but they’ve also invested in their oline year in and year out.
^ BOOM!
We must invest in our O-Line as well: we need a solid Tackle opposite Eich.
So did we it just happened to be all through the draft under Grier and Flores.
2019 Deiter 3rd round
2020 Jackson 1st, Hunt 2nd, Kindley 4th
2021 Eichenberg 2nd
We haven’t had even one guy who is a stud at a position on the OL. Forget stud, we lacked experience except for Davis. Now those young guys are entering their 4th, 3rd and 2nd seasons. Maybe this new coaching staff can take that along with adding some experienced guys and make it work.
They also went out and got a known quantity, arguably the best OT in the league to anchor their left side.
Yes they did. Kyle Shanahan became HC in 2017 though. They’ve been working on it much longer than our team now on our 3rd HC since then. Our offense has lacked an identity since Sparano (RIP). It wasn’t great, but we knew it was a physical offense based on the run game. Since then it’s been a constant overhaul.
They had Staley at LT, another stud, who was there when Shanahan became the HC, then he retired when they traded for Williams.
It comes down to how the new coaches view guys after watching the tape as they say. Maybe they saw mental mistakes more than physical, maybe they saw things we don’t see because how many of us really dive deep into the all 22. That means every play in every game. And even if some us amateurs do watch all 22, I don’t, do we really know what we’re watching or just pointing out mistakes.
I have no idea how we’ll approach the OL, but the new coaches may see stuff that didn’t make sense to them on how we blocked plays. They might see potential that we don’t see.
Count me as one who has watched a lot of ALL-22 tape, and Austin Jackson is not (at least not yet) ready to be a starter in this league.
There IS hope for him, being he’s as young as he is… and I’m certainly not trying to write him off… but he’s got to get stronger, more agile than what we’ve seen in two years, and more knowledgable.
Don’t know what his problem has been, but he’s looked exceptionally immobile at times… almost as though he’s been gimpy for 2 years now and counting.
The Big Tuna is the one who spoke of, “… if they don’t bite as pups…”. That guy was ALL about the trenches, and he was likely speaking specifically about the trenches with this famous quote.
As it applies to Austin Jackson… NOT GOOD. 😦
Jackson looked about as bad as an olineman can look. I’ll be curious to see how we handle the oline with McDaniel as HC.I think we have Hunt and Eich as locks. Maybe Jackson does something along with another guy. Maybe we need to fill 3 spots.
I expect we’ll add a stud vet somewhere on the line, draft a guy, and work with what we have for the rest.
M13, I wouldn’t pencil in anyone on the OL at this time. But it doesn’t mean there is not potential moving forward. Jackson wasn’t even of age to drink alcoholic beverages when he was drafted. Did we take him too early, that’s probably the case. But that’s done. Do the new coaches see something in these guys now with some NFL game experience they can work with? That’s all I’m saying. I’m not saying all is good with what we have. We must add a vet presence that have played a lot of games.
Let me ask this and be honest. You’ve watched every snap of our OL in the all 22 since they’ve been in the league? That’s thousands of plays with 5-6 guys. The new coaches are doing that. That’s their job. There is no fucking way you’ve done that. LOL
Jackson was average his rookie season. He took a step back last season next to a rookie when he was at LT (Eichenberg) and then next to a rookie and an average at best center (Deiter). This stuff matters
It wasn’t just Deiter, we used 3 other centers along the way.
People like to blame Grier for everything. What about Flores changing his coaches at almost every position every year. Now he’s suing the NFL because he feels he was cheated due to racism. The GM that helped hired him was black, the assistant GM is black, and a Senior personnel executive in the org is black. WTF are you talking about?
I’ve lost total respect for Flores. He might be a good football coach, but he’s an unhinged individual that lacks leadership. Why are all those black men still in place in Miami? They didn’t jump off the boat for his cause. Maybe they know he is who he is.
Kong, we haven’t had a HC, a foundation, a system or identity that has lasted beyond 5 seasons since Shula. Dave Wannstedt was the last one who was close 2000-2004 and he got fired during his 5th season in 2004. It’s difficult to build something when it constantly changes. In recent years Flores changed his staff every year for 3 years and didn’t make the playoffs. Only Sparano in 2008 and Gase in 2016 made the playoffs in their first seasons as HC. But neither of them could sustain it.
Kyle Shanahan is entering his 6th season as HC of the 49ers. He took over a team in 2017 that was in the SB in 2013, then got them there again in 2019 – both losses. He got them to the NFC championship game this season. But the 49ers franchise has been way ahead of us since 1984.
People like to blame Ross but it started a long time ago.
Never count on a pig….
“Ex-convict, 57, who became the first ever patient to receive a genetically-altered PIG heart transplant has died two months later”
It was the body not the heart – dude was eating bacon 3x.day
Don right not to count on pigs!
Tim, the Niners have had a good running game, but they’ve also invested in their oline year in and year out.
Yes and so have we through the draft that so many here have called for through the years. 😉
By the way the RB position was never a top priority draft pick or guy through FA. Hmmm…:)
They also went out and got a known quantity, arguably the best OT in the league to anchor their left side.
That’s one player. I think you’re missing what I’m trying to say. Coach McD was there, he knows what it looked like. He was part of it. We have a lot of young drafted OL in the last few years. Did the 49ers? It’s not always the same scenario.
See my comment to Mike. You were having your own conversation, so I was just giving you something to riff off, lol.
I hear a lot of buzz about us getting the Bucs Center Ryan Jensen.
That’d be a good start for a new line.
That would be awesome. We need to get an established vet to anchor the line.
We’re not the Niners. McDaniel wasn’t the GM or HC. We’re probably not going to have a Deebo and we’re probably not going to spend a ton of money on a LT. I feel pretty strongly our guys in house are going to be given every chance to win those tackle jobs
Hey, now we can discuss what I was actually talking about, lol.
So we’re not the Niners. Nope, but we want to be, right? At least in regards to the run game? Everyone thinks McDaniel is going to walk in and just fix everything and we’ll be able to run the ball. Well, the Niners had studs on their line, and they invested in getting studs. They put a ton of money into getting the best LT in football when Staley, who was one of the best LTs in football started to decline and look at retirement. And that is just one position. They have had quality players on the line for years (injuries not withstanding).
My point is this: Maybe you’re right, and we don’t spend big money on a top FA lineman, maybe we go with our stable of journeymen nobodies and young guys we have and draft another guy or two.
And if we do, I don’t expect things will look much better next year than they have in years past. The Niners weren’t magically good because of unbeatable coaching. They had good coaching but they also had the talent.
McDaniel isn’t coming in here and turning Jesse Davis into a stud. Maybe he gets something out of Jackson, but just assuming it is a mistake. If we want a run game like the Niners have, it’s about the oline, not the RBs or WRs they turn into RBs. There is a reason everyone they put back there runs the ball well, it’s coaching, scheme, and talent on the oline combined.
All I was saying with my Niners comment is they made sure they had one of the best olinemen in the league on their line EVERY year. We need to get a guy like that to anchor and build around.
Definitely not turning Jesse Davis into a stud, but Jackson and Eich should be given a chance here. You bring in Armstead you basically give up on one of them. I don’t know how much like the Niners we have intentions of being. We have one of their coaches, but to be fair tagging Gesicki shows he’s flexible and not completely trying to replicate the Niners
Didn’t I say we never had a proven stud to build around on the OL? Grier and Flores didn’t do a good job on the OL. Now here we are.
Many on this blog said it was coaching. Now it’s not about coaching it’s about talent. I said it was too young too fast and the combo of both. Let’s hope our new coaching regime fixes that. 🙂
I definitely want to give Eich a chance. I think we’ve had bad coaching and maybe bad scheme fit with that unit.
But I definitely want to see a vet stud on the line. It doesn’t have to be a tackle. Get the stud center from Tampa, or a top guard (not even sure if one is available). I just think that is a common denominator and what we’re missing.
“Now it’s not about coaching it’s about talent.”
There you go again, having your own conversation and saying my parts for me, lol.
I never dismissed coaching as a factor. I even mentioned it.
But I said numerous times last year and this offseason, we need some new guys on the line, so did a lot of other people. I’ve said since the end of last season I’d keep Eich and Hunt as starters, add a stud vet, a draft pick, and let the rest sort itself out. Nothing has changed in that regard.
A spider? You should see their webs….lol.
I walk out on my deck every year and inevitably one make one.
It’s not a fucking conspiracy….lmao. It’s nature…lol
I would send pics of their huge bodies and webs but because of SM and your protection, I can’t….lmao
I posted this as a reply. I want to post it again because this is why we are where we’re at.
====================
Yeah, fuck him
We need an OL that creates space for RBs and protects the QB in passing situations. It’s that simple. What am I missing?
We don’t have anyone on the OL who does that. That’s fucked and I don’t get the jibber, jabber….lol
I’ve lost my flavor for Flores….I will leave it at that.
Yeah, this is pretty much how I feel. I’ll be glad when he’s done being associated with our team which unfortunately won’t be anytime soon.
Kong – you know I want to bring in 2 guys. Way before we hired McD I wanted Laken Tomlinson. I would also bring in a C. Do that, I think Jackson is better with Tomlinson at LG. Hunt will be better with a solid C and he’s good to begin with. I think Eichenberg belongs at RT, where he said himself he’s most comfortable
I think the only place you and I really differ is on Jackson. I’m ready to quit him, but I am open to be proven wrong about that. My only real requirement is we have to add a stud in FA. We don’t have that guy on the roster, and you can’t draft that year one unless you get really lucky.
I don’t know…it was such a shitshow last year and hope the new regime figures it out! That’s where I’m at.
Mgt sees what we don’t see, but the product is a reflection of mgt. OD sees that….
Hopefully, McD is as good evaluator and teacher as he is with words…we shall see.
Kong, my points aren’t directed at you personally. I heard all year our OL coach Lemuel Jeanpierre sucked and wasn’t qualified. He’s now back to assistant OL coach. I think we all need to see how this all comes together because we have no idea with the new coaches and the young OL taking the next step. 🙂
I hear ya, bro. I’m just messing with you. Honestly, when I wrote the original Niners comment, all I was thinking in my head was “we need to get a stud in FA”. You were responding with all sorts of other stuff that didn’t have anything to do with what I was saying…which is understandable as my comment was very open in what it could have meant, lol. I know you were just having a conversation.
I think both things were the issue last year. I think we probably had subpar coaching and maybe bad scheme fit for our oline, and I think we have a couple of duds that need to be replaced. I don’t think it’s all one thing or the other.
If we don’t change anything and our guys play well this year, then obviously I’ll change my opinion to our coaches in 2021 were just that bad, lol.
The SF running game was and is Shanahan’s. I’ve no doubt McD contributed, but I think fans are giving him way too much credit. People talked glowingly about him when he was hired. So? What’s new? Every damn coach we hire is “well liked and highly regarded”. Yeah, because of the tendency to hype everything these days and the fact that nobody’s gonna bad mouth a guy they may end up working with again or working for. That running system has been productive for decades. McD didn’t make it so. Really, the only thing they did different than the Shanahans have been doing since the 80s was come up with ways to use Deebo in the running game.
***
As I said to Tim yesterday, I’m not convinced McD is gonna just walk in here and implement Shanahan’s running game. I think he thinks he’s smart and wants to come in here and prove he can do it his way and succeed. I’m worried he’s gonna try to get too cute and overcomplicate things. This offense needs to go back to square one and get an identity…a focus on something positive. Develop SOMETHING you can hang your hat on and use to win games.
I’m not sure what you’ve watched or read to come to this conclusion, but the information is out there to refute this.
In a lot fewer words see my 9:45 post…we shall see….lol
To Randy
SF’s offense started breaking down late in the season and the playoffs. Why? Because their OL was getting hurt, and they needed to shift guys around and use backups. What happened to KC 2 years ago when their OL was in shambles? Yes. It’s ALWAYS ABOUT TALENT.
^ It’s always about talent and making plays.
The thing I like is I expect to see Tua or any of our QBs under center more, using boots and roll-outs in a ball control offense. Then wait for someone to make a big play.
So I gave my wife her birthday present a week ago because it was really useful to her in that moment and it made sense for her to have it then. But the understanding was I’d done my duty in that regard. 😎
My wife and I often talk on the phone two or three times a day when I’m at work (lunch, breaks, etc.), so we talked a couple times today, and it wasn’t until I got home and was walking in the door that I realized I haven’t wished her a happy birthday yet. 😲
But…my daughter bought her a present that was delivered to the mailbox TODAY. I grabbed the mail before getting up to the house, saw it and knew what it was which *BOOM* reminded me just before I walked in the door. 😅
Quick thinking ape that I am, I was able to talk around the fact I hadn’t wished her a happy BD earlier because of course I wanted to do it while looking into her eyes, giving her a hug, and telling her just how much she means to me- followed by a long kiss. 😏.
And of course, being the savvy person that she is, who knows me so well… “Uh-huh, you forgot didn’t you?” 🙄
Ut oh!!!! LOL
That’s funny. Nice try anyway
Happy Birthday Ape’s wife
What a sweet story. You are lucky to have each other.
LOL @ Kong! That’s awesome. Dana and I say the same things at the same time so often I sometimes think we’ve become so symbiotic that we’re just one organism now. lol
CK and Mike E. appreciate and love her….not too many people are lucky to have that.
I was pretty lucky, too!
I do, and you’re right. You were definitely lucky as we are. Wish it could have been a lot longer for you guys.
Me too….I had a meltdown on Tuesday when someone asked me how she was doing……
Honestly, Krishna, seeing how the loss of Mrs. K impacted you really helped me to appreciate more often the time Mrs. Kong and I have together. Not that I took her for granted or anything, but I take more moments out of the doldrums of day to day life to sit back and take it in or give her that extra smile, etc.
It’s worth it!!! Kudos!
Kong,
if this was your first date, then I can understand.
Ah yes, back when you were allowed to grab a gal and take her to the top of the nearest building during the courting phase, lol.

Do you think the Colts want Brissett back?
I heard they might make a play for cousins.
what planet do these people live on?
“We are not planning to attack other countries,” Lavrov told a Turkish reporter, according to The New York Times. “We didn’t attack Ukraine, either.”
They don’t consider Ukraine another country
I should say Putin doesn’t
So that means they probably don’t consider Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania other countries either.
Those are next on Putin’s hit list, but being NATO countries complicates things. Probably top of that takeover list is Moldovo, which isn’t part of NATO. Putin takes Odessa and not too far to that little former Soviet republic.
Moldova is definitely next in the cross hairs
I have a feeling Rowe will be cut this year.
“Rowe is due to make $2.5 million next season, none of it guaranteed. But his $5.1 million cap hit shrinks to $525,000 if he’s cut. Rowe stands at risk, not only because of the contract but also because of Holland’s and Jones’ development. And Brian Flores, a big supporter of Rowe, is no longer around.”
I like Rowe in coverage better than I like Jones.
Cut or more likely first offered to “restructure.” But he might think he deserves starter’s money on another team. One standout safety and another good, upcoming one will start ahead of him. Same time, can never have enough DBs.

Wish we had room for Isaiah Likely. He’s gonna be a good NFL TE. Maybe we take him as a UDFA WR.
I guess if you have enough data points you will win one of them?

I REALLY like this one! Only thing I’d change? I’ve got to have P Matt Araiza.
Well done, Naples!
I agree. We need to get that punter, but he never came up for me to select.
I wonder if that’s Grier??????
He’s 28 which ain’t bad. How has his play been lately?

Very interesting…
By the way that would be perfect!
Another sign we are in Cold War 2.0.

On Wednesday, Moscow approved legislation that took the first step towards nationalising assets of foreign firms that leave the country.
And in a statement on Thursday Mr Medvedev said: “The Russian government is already working on measures, which include bankruptcy and nationalisation of the property of foreign organisations.
“Foreign companies should understand that returning to our market will be difficult.”
Stupid move by Russia that will only hurt their economy more. Russia cannot economically sustain another Cold War
Becoming an economic pawn of China is an option for them. would be a bigger North Korea.

It should be noted that La’el Collins is a RT. He also played some LG for the Cowboys last year.
IF we end up trading for Collins, we’re looking at Liam Eichenberg at LT… which I like.
HOWEVER, given the two (Collins or Eich), I’d rather have Eich protecting Tua’s blindside.
From one mediocre Injury prone QB to another
I believe it was SB7 who made the recent statement that he’s not interested in Terron Armstead, being he’s not reliable for 17 games per season. I agree, but what’s more, why would we pay a LT (remember, Tua’s a southpaw) north of $20M/per?
La’el Collins for $10M/per would be most acceptable… granted he’s nimble enough to protect Tua.
He certainly looks nimble enough to me in this video…
Sheesh… the content creator waits until halfway through the video to say that this was film from Collins’ rookie season.
I don’t know if he’s still as nimble as he once was. Sorry, y’all.
When does the FA signing period start?
next week I think?
March 16 at 1 p.m. ET
Lame! I was a week off, I had the 11th stuck in my head for some reason.
All the talent in the world, but this guy can’t stick a landing.
He’s doing a stadium tour
Agreement reached and MLB lockout ends
Shoulder shrug and yawn
Does anyone care?
People care. There are dozens upon dozens of people all across the Midwest that are ecstatic about this news…
lol
Alain Poupart estimates Ogbah will get in $14-16 million per year range. More than I was thinking ($12-14).

Oh please no more Eich. He was Jesse Davis bad
I’d blame the (lack of) O-Line coaching for that… but that’s just me.
He looked slow and lost. It wasn’t all coaching imo.
Consider he was a rookie playing LT next to Austin Jackson at LG… you may change your tune, my guy!
I tend to think it was him that brought Jackson down. Too many times I saw Eich standing around doing nothing
I think it is too early to tell with Eich, Jackson, and Kindley
But I think we have to hedge our bet and bring in a few veterans
for Herbert?
I think we’re going to see a lot more trades this offseason and we could be involved in that.
What makes you think that? I’m not disagreeing anymore than I’m agreeing… what’s your angle on this?
Targeting players we feel are good fits that are not FAs, but their teams are looking to move them due to salary cap issues. I’m not saying we’ll make a bunch of trades but it wouldn’t surprise me if we made a one or two. Lots of ways to add talent.
Agreed, Tim.
Tim, do you think teams that think they are close will attempt to do the Rams/Bucs model?
Yes! Adding proven talent over just building through the draft. For instance I’d trade our 1st #29 for a proven player if we can.
WOW!
Trades exactly like this. 😉
The whole thing about ‘taking on all of ***’s contract’ that we’ve seen with a couple of big trades now, does that mean they are eating all dead money the original team would have had? Is that possible? Or does it mean something else?
I’m not sure you can pick up another teams’ dead money, I think what this might mean is that they aren’t restructuring the contract, they’re taking it as is. But that’s just a guess.
That is kind of what I thought about dead money. I’ve just seen that phrase twice now in the least two days so I thought maybe something had changed or I didn’t understand dead money properly. That’s a good guess though, maybe it’s just taking the contract as is.
La’el Collins is exactly the type of player we should trade for. He starts immediately at RT on Tua’s blind side. We can kick either Jackson or Eichenberg inside and keep revamping the OL.
If Collins is still playing well and a good fit for the offense we will run, then he seems to be available for the right money.
I wanted to sign Collins way back when everybody thought he was a bust, and he was cheap. M13 and I talked about signing him a couple times. He’s always had elite talent but questionable work ethic and desire combined with off field concerns…at least that was the chatter. The Cowboys signed him about 6 or 7 years ago for a bag of chips when nobody wanted him. His off field concerns really hurt him. I would take a very close look at him, but I think he was suspended last season for PDE crap or something. He also has experience at guard and tackle. I’m a little leery of him, but if they do a deep dive and feel he’s not a risk…he’s a pretty good player. I wouldn’t break the bank for him though. I think there are other guys who are similar who you can probably get for less.
***
Plus, I think after finding out about all the crap going on in the background last year that we gotta give these young OL a chance to prove what they are. You could tell several of these young guys just looked lost last year. There were a lot of mental mistakes. Maybe a big part of what we saw was the dysfunction going on at the coaching and admin levels. I hope they bring in 1 or 2 vets to groom and push these young guys, but I still hope they don’t just give up on them.
Who thought he was a bust? He got railroaded before the 2015 draft because his former girlfriend who was pregnant (not his) was murdered and he had nothing to do with it. He was considered a top 10 pick but went undrafted and the Cowboys signed him and actually gave a contract that was better than a typical UDFA contract. In 2021 he was suspended for 5 games for missing a drug test so it fell under violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
I remember Mike E. was all about drafting him and then signing him after he went undrafted. A lot of us here liked him in the draft including me. 🙂
I agree with you about the OL looking lost last year and maybe that can be corrected.
I think it was posted already but there are rumors we’re interested in Amari Cooper and watching the situation to see if he’s released. He’s also from Miami. He’s a really good WR and I’d be on board with adding him for sure.
I’m on the no thanks boat for Cooper
Why? All he does is make plays.
Tim,
Yep, I believe that’s what I said. Railroaded or not, there were concerns about him that weren’t related to his talent. The Cowboys signed him for next to nothing because of teams’ concerns about him. None of us know what those concerns truly were or if they were warranted. As you always like to remind us; these teams know more about these guys than we do, so I doubt teams shunned him for no reason. The Cowboys signed him to a 3 year/$1,599,000 contract….which was a pittance for a guy with his talent….UDFA or not. He was suspended for missing drug tests…which equates to a failed test. I just didn’t care enough to look it up. Lol
***
And I always just agree with MikeE and his OL thoughts, so it was probably his idea to begin with!
The concerns were about his former girlfriend being murdered and someone attached his name to it but he was cleared of any involvement after the draft. I don’t remember any other off the field issues. He’s a good player and I’d love to see us trade for him.
Exactly he had no off field issues and really get dunked up by the timing of his girlfriend murder or else he was an early 1st round pick
Yep!
As I recall Mike E had quite the chiffon robe for Collins
LOL, the good ole chiffon robe.
I bet he had a’e engraved on the pocket
Was it also apple martinis? LOL
All I said was that Collins’ off field concerns hurt him. Jesus.
Yes and all I did was point out how it was not true. He got fucked over by nothing he actually did. Once he was cleared of any involvement that was the end of it. 🙂
Cooper for 8-9m a year would be fine, but I wouldn’t pay any higher. His production doesn’t come close to warranting much more. I doubt that’s what he’s expecting though. We paid 10m for Will Fuller last year though. Hopefully we’ve learned from our mistakes of overpaying for FA wideouts.
I’m of the mind to spend on an OC and an OG while getting a bargain vet for tackle and letting them duke it out with our sophomores.
That’s where I’m at. That Tampa Center would be ideal.

Lol…ok
Amari Cooper would be a nice player to add he can stretch the field and he has a burst. There are a lot of ways to go at receiver at the same time.
Ken, Eich improved quite a bit as the season went on I thought he started settling in towards the end of the season. I think he’s a player to grow with but put together a solid scheme with functionality and stability.
I didn’t see it. I am not confident in him at all.
That’s harsh on a Golden Domer. Have the faith man.
The current Dolphins love for Jesse Davis equals Coach Shula’s love for Tom Olivadotti.
It doesn’t work STOP
We just can’t throw away OL after 1 year
Everyone has their own track to success
Some are great out of the gate, some need time
We’ll be fine Jean Lafoot had no clue how to twist that group into the shape the two-headed monster was looking for. These guys know how to play coaches make them functional. I look for big improvement from those young guys.
We can’t surround Tua with guys like Eich again or he will be set up for failure
None of the younguns are going anywhere until WELL INTO TC.. sign some solid vets to compete/start .. if the coaches can coach up our previous picks Major Kudos and let’s roll , they will be a cheap bunch for another couple years if they can improve in TC, if not BuhBye!!!
Keystone cops. I can’t get that out of my head regarding the OL. They broke the QBs ribs…wtf.
Show me the big improvements. I thought the play calling was to hide the OL deficiencies….mostly. it wasn’t Tua
Silly Krishna, it was to hide Tua’s weak arm and short stature
That was early in the year we did finish 8-1

Tim: I just don’t think he plays as hard as the $$$ he will looking for .. he was underwhelming as a Raider, and I think this season was his first that came close to what was expected/anticipated when he was drafted … I have watched him drop an awful lot of fairly easy receptions, he is one WR I always either move way down or move to my do not draft list in FFB…. Just MHO….
That’s good enough for me Toba, as I said above there are a lot of ways we can go
Not saying I’m right ,just my opinion,, sign him and he blows up and shows up ? 👍😁
I do agree we need a full time WR or three added to the room ..GitEr Dun
Toba, fair enough. Form me all I see is Cooper makes plays. That’s what we need.
I’m excited as hell baseball ⚾️ is back. After football, my favorite sport. #LGM!
I think it would be funny if we picked up La’el Collins. 😂
I can rock my La’el chiffon robe again!
Cooper is really good. I always underrated him. When he got to the Cowboys, he made that offense that was dead in the water rocking again. Cooper would open up things for Waddle, while being an excellent target in his own right. It’s all about how much we have to pay him
Agreed.
You fuckers still awake?
Guess not
A few of us posted pretty recently. What’s on your mind?
Nuttin’ in particular. Just seeing who was around.
What do you think of the recent topics?
Lol…anyone awake?
Even 8-1 doesn’t mean the OL should get credit. I don’t remember any 3rd or 4th and 1 conversions running the ball and that’s OL. We just couldn’t and haven’t been able to do it in a long time.
I thought we just telegraphed the plays too much with our lame non-scheme offense. How many times did the defense just load up the box with 9 or 10 guys on our short yardage tries? Very few OLs can succeed in backing up a quality DL 2 yards when it’s just straight ahead one on one drive blocking, which is all we seemed to try to do.
And then our RBs just ran up the backs of blockers who were standing still stuffed.
… …
I think until Duke got here, all those young guys we had at RB and OL were afraid of Flo so bad they were like paralyzed into a narrow definition of “just run the play.”
If Flo didn’t like you, you were cut or otherwise run off. or kept inactive.
Sorry Tim – I walked away and never came back. Regarding the current topics, I agree with Randy on OL.bring in a vet, but keep developing what we have. For WR Keep Waddle, Hollins and Parker, the rest can be replaced. Draft speed. Wouldn’t mind Wagner at LB. The LB from Denver might be ok, but they released him for a reason. Teams don’t release productive players unless there is an issue.
The Keystone Pipeline shut down isn’t the reason gas prices are high, but it is the most visible and easy to understand symbol of this administration’s hostility towards the gas and oil industry and that hostility along with their willingness to be dependent on foreign oil are the reasons for high gas prices.

Is La’el related to Superboy?
last year Collins had an 82 PFF rating and gave up 2 sacks and 8 penalties on 671 snaps which was only the 53rd most played.
He’s 6’4 320 out of LSU and ran a 5.12 40 at the combine. He’ll be 29 for the 2022 season.
Jesse Davis last year had a 52.5 PFF rating.
6’6 325 out of Idaho, will be 31 for the 2022 season.
He gave up 4 penalties and 8 sacks, but he played 1063 snaps.
