The Dolphins have already secured TE Mike Gesicki for the 2022 NFL season as they have placed the Franchise Tag on him. They can work out a long term deal or have his services for this season and reevaluate after. With a new HC, it’s difficult to say which is more likely. Other Dolphins players I would like us to re-sign are Emmanuel Ogbah, Nik Needham and Mack Hollins, and in that order. From outside our organization, I feel the interior of the O-line is a must fix so I would prefer to get Niners LG Laken Tomlinson. As some of you know, the Cowboys are willing to trade OL La’el Collins. Collins can play inside or outside, and can play either side at tackle, and play them all well. That’s a nice commodity to have, especially with what I believe is some young talent we have that we need to find spots for such as Austin Jackson and Liam Eichenberg. Some have already given up on these players, I think that’s foolish. Collins has been a fixture on the Cowboys line since ’15, although he did miss most of the ’16 season tearing a ligament in his big toe Game 3. He was placed on IR and missed the rest of that season. Otherwise he has been a steady presence for the Cowboys. I don’t know what compensation the Cowboys expect for Collins but I’d give up a 2nd or 3rd RD pick without any hesitation to get Collins. With so high a demand for quality O-linemen, the Cowboys just might cash in much higher for Collins. I suppose I’d consider our 1st RD pick (#29) as well. Other possible picks at #29 are C Tyler Linderbaum, WR Jameson Williams and probably a host of others that I haven’t even considered but GM Chris Grier has his eye on. Collins would start and be an upgrade just about anywhere we put him, and lord knows we need to upgrade the O-line. There are quite a few avenues to consider though, being we have a good amount of cap room and we can find 2 good free agent OL in Free Agency.
Back to re-signing our own, the Dolphins have to make Emmanuel Ogbah a priority. It’s not that Ogbah is a guy who takes over games, he’s not that type of player. He is a guy that consistently gets pressure from his side of the field and despite not having gaudy numbers in any one defensive metric, he’s had over 20 QB hits each of the 2 seasons he’s played here, and although he missed double digit sacks by one each year, with the emergence of Jaelan Phillips, I think Ogbah and Phillips could be both be perennial double digit sack guys. Ogbah’s 2 best seasons were here in Miami, so I’d hope he’d want to return to the place where he’s been most successful, although in all fairness, money will talk. We’ll have to show Ogbah some love ($$$) if we want him back. DB Nik Needham is a player I just love to watch. I remember when we drafted some guy (Noah Igbinoghene) and had such high expectations for that player. Instead, it was Nik Needham thrust into duty and call him an overachiever or whatever you want but he always proved he belonged on the field. It’s hard not to like and admire Needham and I truly hope we retain him as a player. Mack Hollins is another one of those players like Needham. We know he’s a special teams ace and that guy was always around the football on ST’s. He was also thrust into duty when others were expected to be ahead of him, but due to injuries, Hollins got more playing time than expected. He showed up and played well all the time. So often I’d see Hollins make a play and both I and the announcer thought it was TE Mike Gesicki, #86 and #88 look similar and their lithe body types are close as well. #86 has to be re-signed so the confusion can continue.
When you look at improving the team, most of us feel the O-line is the place where it needs to begin. I also feel like the majority here feel we should be adding veterans and not spending high picks on the O-line, as we all know we’ve spent quite a few in the last 2 years as it is, one 1st RD pick in 2020 (Jackson), two 2nd RD picks, 2020 (Hunt), and 2021 (Eichenberg). In 2019, we spent a 3rd RD pick on C Michael Deiter and we spent a 4th RD pick in 2020 on OG Solomon Kindley. I could see spending another 1st RD potentially on center Tyler Linderbaum. If they feel he’d be an immediate upgrade and a long term solution at center, it’s hard to argue pulling the trigger on that. We can also pick up probably the best center available in free agency Ryan Jensen formerly of Tom Brady’s Bucs. Lots of different ways to approach it, and Chris Grier is well aware of that. Tough part is there will be high interest across the board on quality offensive linemen so if we want a player, we’ll have to be very aggressive and pay whatever is necessary in order to get them. Bargain hunting is not an option.
I’m sure Grier has a clear plan as to what he’s doing, and then fallback plans when those are foiled. Even though we have deep pockets, the competition will be so high there’s likely to be a quick frenzy to start the free agency period off. Other than money, is Miami a destination where players feel like they can win? We have a bright new Head Coach in Mike McDaniel, but he’s a first time Head Coach, so is winning immediately realistic? Of course we have nice climate, especially during the colder months of the season and we also have no state income tax which makes the money go even further. I look forward to seeing what Grier and the Dolphins do when the communications between NFL teams and players (agents) begin on Monday March 14th. I have a feeling the bottom line of the NFL channel feed will be ringing like a pinball machine. Hopefully we’re doing some of the ringing!

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I love the ones with the snowman
Me too…Calvin’s imagination is the best part of the strip and the snowmen illustrate that so effortlessly. Spaceman spiff is great for that too, but a lot of those are full color and I’m not sure the text will be very readable on the blog so I haven’t gone there yet.
The problem I’m starting to encounter with the snowmen is being unsure which ones I’ve posted because there are numerous ones I’ve taken note of, and I’m starting to mix up the ones I’ve taken note of vs the ones I’ve posted, lol.
Great write up, Mike!
Thanks BBM!
“Genetic Material” eh? Guess you can’t eat the regular colored snow now either.
Just think of it as the same as Porcine genetic material! 😉
That doesn’t make it any better lol
I say get Wagner and Collins!
If we have to give #29 for Collins I’d be ok with that!
Then it’s all about WR and RB and BPA come draft day
Kong
Seen one snowman, seen em all…

You are thinking about some “other” DNA
I was thinking Bacon has DNA in it! 🙂
Mike … Excellent status summary
Thank you Naples
Mike E ain’t surprised and neither am I. He’s back on the team (even if like him no one will give up a 2nd for him).
Nice!!!! Love it! That should just about guarantee his return.
” most of us feel the O-line is the place where it needs to begin.”
Think that is the one universal thought on the board. And I fall in the group that think we need one if not two proven vets to mix in with those young guy. I’m taken with the thought that went out last night about bringing in a C and a G, which would be cheaper.
But whether that makes sense or not depends on whether they are willing to switch Jackson back to T (am convinced he will start somewhere and EIch will be one T)). Yet, even if they want Jackson inside, they can always put Hunt back at T. He was no slouch there. A plus value wherever he lines up.
And yeah that was an excellent write on the FA period that should end at least some of the speculation.
Thanks Stanger
There’s a big back
PER4ORM is in Davie (Broward). Lots of big names have been through there. Wish he was throwing to more than just Bowden.
https://www.per4ormsports.com/nfl
Guess Bowden is trying hard to make the team. Also most of the WRs are FAs, sooo …
Mike, nice recap of what’s going on and what we’ve all been discussing during the offseason. And just like that we put a 2nd round tender on Needam. 🙂
Yeah, that’s awesome. Like that dude, he’s a player!
I was hoping they would.
Paddleboarding in Florida. Put the volume on…. the woman is incredibly calm when faced with an 11-foot gator.
that was some beautiful water. Not south FL for sure. Our water all looks like Ice Tea. LOL
Silver Springs State Park that’s West of Daytona Beach.
Nick Needham gave me flashbacks of Toast Buckely when we first started him as an UDFA. The beginning half of the year he was getting torched every game while making plays when he wasn’t getting burned. As the year progressed he looked much better and has just kept getting better since. I like that we locked him up for 3.9M if another team doesn’t give us the 2nd round pick for him. Very good depth from an Acorn.
He had weight issues due to poor conditioning. He took it seriously and totally turned his career around. Now he’s a gamer.
He was also a rookie and undrafted so he actually did an exceptional job starting with that pedigree.
Saw a report on NFLN from Jane Slater who covers the Cowboys and she pointed out why they’re willing to shop La’el Collins. The feeling is he’s been battled injuries being placed on IR in 2020, then violating the league’s substance abuse policy last season which he fought and lost because there were rumors he bribed someone in the league to say he didn’t fail the test, so instead of a 2 game suspension he got a 5 game suspension. During that time he missed he opened the door for another guy to show he can handle the RT position. They then thought maybe he could play LG which he did earlier in his career but coaches felt he might have lost some bend.
So that’s just some intel I heard recently. I still think he’s worth pursuing.
I’d pass. If he were a free agent I would pick him up but not giving up a 1sr, 2nd or 3rd pick for him. Wait and see if they release him.
I don’t think he’ll cost a 1st or 2nd. But our 3rd is basically a 4th round pick because it’s a compensatory pick from the 49ers due to the minority coaching compensation. So it’s somewhere after the first 32 picks in the 3rd round.
If our team feels he’s an upgrade at RT then I would do it. That said, we don’t even know if Grier and McDaniel are interested.
The first half of the year I was like WHO THE F IS THAT NUMBER 40!!!???(6)
The latter part of the year I was like WOOO WHOOOO THAT IS NUMBER 40!!!!!!!
A man and his wife are visiting Jerusalem and the wife unexpectedly dies.
The authorities ask the man how he would like to handle the disposal of his wife’s remains. They explain that it will cost him about $45,000 total to ship the body back to the US, but because she is Jewish the government will only charge $500.00 to bury her there in Jerusalem.
The man says “Ship her home! Definitely!”
The government worker says, “But sir, why don’t you bury her HERE in the Holy Land? That way she will be in the Holy Land and you can save over $44,000.00??!
The husband replies ” A long time ago a man died and was buried here and three days later he rose from the dead. I’m not taking that chance!”
LOL
People in Washington DC don’t like that “the people’s convoy” of truckers is slowing down traffic by going round and round the Beltway. Imagine that. Ever been on the DC Beltway during the long rush hour? Some of the most brutal traffic in the country when the truckers aren’t there.
—————–
Zachary Petrizzo@ZTPetrizzo
A trucker with The People’s Convoy riding behind Ted Cruz this morning says many Beltway commuters have been flicking the truckers off: “We go around the Beltway, birds are flying. Birds are flying everywhere. That’s the kind of people that live up there.”
11:51 AM · Mar 10, 2022
I can’t imagine having this kind of protest with gas being as high as it is. And yes, these guys making the bad traffic here worse is #1 worthy.
And it all started as a protest against mask mandates, but those have since almost all gone away. They are like a dog that caught the car.
Rock – I agree with you on the beginning of Needham’s first season. He was definitely getting exposed early on, but then really turned it around. Just think how crazy it is that they didn’t want Iggy on the field at all during the time Needham struggled.
Iggy did play a bunch for awhile before his playing time was very minimal. From what I saw he could physically stay with WRs but he got schooled over and over due to the finer points of the game. He stayed with his man but could not play the ball. This is a big year for him or he will officially be a bust and might not even make the team.
Right with you on that. Unless Iggy shows he has “game” only a workout warrior.
Rock – You sure that guy is Jewish??? lol
LOL, I didn’t say hey let me look at your schmechel. LOL
I didn’t write the joke either, so I guess he didn’t have to be. I just typed it as it was told to me.
Apparently Waddle wasn’t done making cuts. Look what he did in the offseason to his hair
He played in some heat games.
You know how we kid that we’re being read here. I’ll be damned if I don’t see a lot of Dolphins fans on twitter wanting Laken Tomlinson. Hmmmm. lol
I came across an article from one of the fan sites with the title stating the Dolphins need to add some OL not a overhaul. In recent times I said I could see us totally overhauling the OL. 😉
Hmmmmm
I love seeing Tua working with Bowden this offseason! I think Bowden could end up being a big part of this offense. He’s built thick, has agility and speed. Just thinking about McDaniel and how he would use him.
But Joe Burrow says guys who put up videos of their workouts are losers. Guys who just go about their business and do what they have to do are winners. lol
I’m already tired of Burrow’s mouth.
Did he really say that?
He is built more like a RB than WR. He was a WR and Wildcat QB in college. He has specialist traits. He could get some running plays ala Deebo. This is a big season for him to prove his worth as a 2020 3rd round pick.
Only has to prove he has better than a 4th minus a 6th back to prove he was worth our trade.
I was talking more about his own pride. To get drafted in the 3rd round only to have the team that drafted you trade you that same year is not ideal.
He played QB in college (wildcat) and was drafted By the Raiders as a RB. Has the speed to do end arounds and one play in there the Phins had him ready to throw a pass. Seems McDainiels would be thinking a good fit for his surprise-filled O.
Goes with what some of you said you saw just watching games.
“Needham’s opponent passer rating when targeted has gotten better every year — from 111.7 in 2019, to 95.1 in 2020 to 73.4 last season.”
He also plays a lot of slot and that’s a tough cover. It’s great to see guys who were not top prospects make it with hard work.
Damn!
Last year’s crop of 10 UFA’s combined for a total of 19 starts last season. Jacoby Brissett had the most with five.
We didn’t really sign any major UFAs last year. They were all role players and backups.
Do you know who the 10 were? Off the top of my head Adam Butler was the biggest one and he played a lot.
Tim – YES
Why do I care what he thinks?
I don’t really care what he thinks and I definitely couldn’t give a flying fuck about anything Mike Florio reports on. I want to challenge that puss to a steel cage match. Me (Dolphins fan) vs Him (Dolphins hater)
Oh okay, Joe. I don’t want to see you smoking cigars either. You should win in silence and be humble.
Our options for Preston Williams:
1- a first-round tender on him for $5.56 million where another team could sign him, but give up a first.
2– a second-round tender on him for $3.99 million
3– a right of first refusal tender for $2.43 million where Miami has the right to match any offer sheet that he gets signed to.
4– re-sign for whatever agreed.
5– let him hit the market.
He has talent but cannot stay healthy. I’d probably lean towards 4 and 5.
6 a tender that comes with a first aid kit and an attitude adjustment
Rumors Rumors Rumors
Then, Ogbah should command slightly less.
I’d prefer we re-sign Ogbah but he’s not going to be cheap. The market is what it is for productive DE/Edge players. If I had to guess I think he gets $14-15M per. Anything less is a bargain.
Rock – It was tongue in cheek, I meant he didn’t take the discount. lol
WHOOOOSH Right over my head. LOL You post would have been funny right off the bat if you had added that line. “because he didn’t take the discount”
I thought you would get what I meant. Guess not! 😛 (toothless!)
What no QBs traded today?

Should the Miami Dolphins Sign Colin Kaepernick?
VERY short article. Consisted of two letters. N.O.
Yeah, I saw the title on phinswire and scrolled right on by. What, out of football for 5 years now. No thanks. He needs to go to that new league or Canada to prove he can still play.
Behind the Scenes of the 2022 Dolphins Business Combine…we’re the only team that offers it and looks like attendance was great.

Field’s brew pub is named “Inside the FIve”

Here is an idea: Have him cater the Fest 😃
Or maybe we finally get away from Dave & Busters on Saturday night
Then we would have to make sure Jahn so we can have a beer off
I could only wish. He learned the craft from the Funky Buddha guys in FL, but set up the brew pub in Ohio (where he was from before). Wonder if I can order online.
Do we play the Bengals or Browns?
My hero worship only goes so far. And they don’t ship beer. Just ordered an “Inside the Five” tee though.
And only so many places you can get a private area on a Sat night that is affordable. Especially with a poll table. 🙂
Why were the 49ers allowed to shift the third round pick they give us to their comp pick instead of their regular pick? It’s not that bad of a deal since their regular pick is 93, but still …
Comp picks were not allowed to be traded years ago. It is a relatively recent change (2017 I think?)
well I know, but when we made the trade in 2021, they did not have the Comp pick, so they had to have meant their regular pick. Seems like cheating to change to a comp pick you did not even possess when the deal was made.
Naples, the 3rd round comp pick we got from SF in the trade was for the Jets hiring Robert Saleh as HC. The pick was already in the books. The league wouldn’t have allowed it otherwise.
Man, I would pay up to $200 per seat to watch that steel cage match!
Let’s make this happen! No holds barred! Steel cage match until knock out or submission. Mike “The Hand” Handler vs Mike “The Mouth” Florio
Yes I want this
Now that we have tendered Needham, we need to resign Ogbah, Smythe and Hollins.
Then sign ILB Bobby Wagner, LG Tomlinson, OC Ryan Jensen and RB Jeff Wilson.
I posted about him before. I really like RB Wilson. He was a backup at 49er’s so he knows the system. He is a good all round RB with some quickness. He also has the size at 6′ 213 to lower the boom on DB’s. He would be PERFECT in our RB rotation.
Taking money on the Mike E vs. Wimp Florio cage match.
Odds here are -1000 Mike E …
Did I say this backwards?
No, not if you think Mike E will win you didn’t
good that was my intent.
Mike, in your match with Florio, I want to see you mess up his hair and stick q-tips up his nose, ears and mouth. LOL

LMAO!!
Waddle looks downright scary now. I think he looks more jacked.
I’ve seen moves like that in person before, but compared to him the guys were doing them in slow motion. I’d just pick a side he is going like a goalie on a penalty kick inside the box.
On that video of Wilson running for SF
wasn’t that Mullens throwing? Doesn’t it say in the line at the bottom that Mullens is like 24 out of 26?
Could Mullens be our new back-up QB?
or are the 49rs going to start with him until Lance is ready to take over midseason?
Then a bunch more of the footage is CJ Beatherd.
Where’s Garoppolo?
Jimmy G was hurt as he often is.
Not sure
I guess Mullens went to Browns in 2020 and is an UFA right now. He could be a possible signing since he knows a lot about the offense.
My first video before I take my nap. NO it’s not a rap song. lol
I guess he wasn’t on a team?
I guess not because my first thought was, WTF.
He’s bounced around the last 3 years on 4 different teams. His last stop was being released by the Titans last year. He was a bust 1st round pick.
The niners got the comp pick for Saleh being hired by the jest, they didnt switch it, that was the pick they traded.
so that is not the pick for McDaniel?
No the trade was made before we hired McDaniel.

Love it, BBMike. Only I’d take Rashaad Penny (IF the price is right) over Jeff Wilson, and I’d like to see Duke Johnson come back as well.
Everything else? OUTSTANDING!
Truth be told, I know that Penny isn’t coming to Miami.
Umm… strike that. Penny is very loyal to the Seahawks, but his attitude may have changed after Russ and Wagner are going to be elsewhere.
I agree. What’s your thoughts on RB Jeff Wilson?

They actually did have the comp pick already. It just wasn’t assigned a slot yet. It was ALWAYS the comp pick they traded to us. Not any kind of bait and switch. We knew it was their comp.
I see from above that that is the pick from the Saleh signing, not the McDaniel signing?
yes, I’m not sure if they will get two picks for the McD signing as he is only “half black”

That really is cool. That’s real, right?
Naples, do you see the ‘blue checkmarks’ next to their names? That means that it’s the real person, bud. Yes, it’s REAL.
And here Ocho Cinco was on my most likely to be broke ten years after retiring list. guess I was wrong.

—————
JMO, but I think we can do far better than Wilson, man.
No worries, I agree, we can do better. I just think he would be a good addition to a rotation.
OK guys thank you all for explaining the comp pick thing to me. I knew I was confused, but I couldn’t figure out how. I totally forgot about SF getting comp picks for Saleh.
T-10 seconds before Steve Ross calls him back.
But he could still face NFL suspension.
BBMike, I’m down with your FA haul and they could do all that while also adding a WR.
Wagner in our Defense shiiiiiiiiiiit!!!!!
Just not sure who that FA WR would be. I like Berrios and do a few on here but then we would have Waddle, Bowden and Berrios. We need someone to stretch the field.
But yeah, resign Ogbah and add Wagner to this Defense shiiiiiiiit is right.
I can see us signing a couple of RBs in FA, maybe even re-signing our own like Duke, then drafting a RB and probably signing 2-3 UDFAs.
Gaskin is still under contract, Ahmad is back and we have Doaks. I expect a lot of competition at RB in TC.
MikeE, you’d kill Florio he’d never fight you.
You guys are similar size and he’s younger than you but there’s no way he’d fight you.
No he’d yell Tua is a poo poo head and run away.
It took Mike E 10 years to come around to what I’d stated about Floria (Florio) a decade ago. So long as I’m his trainer, Mike E knocks Florio out in Round 1, TKO.
Followed the Deshaun Watson claims as they came out and only two of them as presented seemed to rise to a serious criminal offense. And these were women who first sued and then contacted the cops. Goes to credibility in a he said/she said situation.
Wonder if that means some team will move on him. Those 20-some civil suits are still in place, but those could start settling quickly if Watson is ready to pony up some cash. But then getting paid all that money not to play is a pretty sweat gig too.
If the criminal investigation is over, he will probably be playing next season
Maybe the Seahawks or the Colts or some one like that
I tend to think him sitting out last year was more holding out than anything else
I think last year will go as time served as far as a suspension goes, if someone pays up to get him he’ll be playing
Son, Watson refused to play for the Texans. That was his decision, not a punishment.
Piggy, Ken or Stanger, couldn’t there still be civil suits?
I know but just the way the whole thing played out they’re going to let him play. Now with no criminality involved it seems like the girls probably knew what was going on. It’s still fucking weird and he’s a creep but that’s his PRs job lol
Somebody is going to want him and lots of teams could use him
There’s a ton of teams that need a QB
Stranger: saw your “deposit is down” post re fest seats .. so happy I have you around looking after us all … I have one week In October that I can’t take , and pretty sure a Niners Home Game vs Fins , other than that we will be really looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the crew
Mike E: great look at where we are as usghe….
Still in Jamaica, weather at home -30C, and all roads around and in/out of city closed by snow and wind… Trying to remember why we live there 🤔
No problem Toba. Everyone needs a purpose in life, especially this retired one. Have a Red Stripe for me.
Tim — he’s already facing 20+ civil suits, but for sure there could be more as long as the complained of action happened with the given state’s statute of limitations. But seems whoever could bring them already would have given it was national news.
Teams that will target Deshaun Watson – Seahawks, Colts, Panthers, Saints and Bucs.
Plus any surprises like Browns or Steelers
Yes I thought about them too. I probably should have added the Steelers. I don’t think the Browns are going to move on from Mayfield just yet.
Seattle Just raked in a shit ton of picks Planters were rumored right after us last year,I’ve heard Saints arenin cap hell right now, but that can be fixed
Tampa is most likely landing spot
Me looking at lists of available free agents
Lol
Re-sign Ogbah and we are down to say the low-to-mid thirties unless they do a magic trick with the contract and hold off the cap hit. That still gets you some players, but only so many starter-quality ones.
We’re still in good shape and the cap is going up the next 2 years. We don’t need a ton of players, we need some game changers. Then we draft.
With the new “internet money” in next year’s tv contract lots (including us) can/will be pushing $$ down the road at least a year to free up signing$$$
Yep! Other players also come off the books along the way.

————–
The Niners have a choice, they can elect to get two 6th rd picks or one 3rd. 😳
So McDaniels has a black parent? Thought that was just thrown about loosely. Doesn’t stop many writers from saying there are only two black HC’s in the league.
He addressed it during his presser.
Thanks Tim. Seems like all those expert NFL writers should get up to speed that about more than Lovie Smith and Tomlin unless they want to say half-black don’t count.
It’s funny he is no different than Obama – black father and white mother. But all we heard is black president. The only difference is McDaniel got more white looking genetics.
It’s all so stupid at the end of the day.
I think it’s absurd we have to look at these things this way. I’ll never understand judging someone because of skin color for good or bad reasons. It was probably my upbringing, but isn’t there really an element of adult common sense and humanity about it too?
You’d think…
I’ve tried to remain silent about the Deshaun troubles, and I do not wish to discuss this, but I am very glad that the charges were considered by a grand jury and not enough evidence was found to charge him with any crime.
I hope he has learned a hard lesson about protecting himself from activities or conversations that can be used by unscrupulous people to try to extort money from him.
I feel bad for any person that he offended with his activities during massages, and I do not condone any activity which could be construed as harassment by Deshaun or anyone, but I also can see considerable gray areas in the massage experience. By definition of the massage, there will always be at least partial nudity combined with extreme hands-on contact lasting an hour or more.
The overt and accepted intention of a massage is to make the person receiving the massage feel really really good. The corollary is a concomitant state of relaxation. There is a bed, oils and lotions are applied, and skin to skin intimacy is required.
A large amount of trust must exist between the client and the massage pro, both that the masseuse will not injure the client and that the client will not misconstrue the touch as sexual.
Deshaun needs to realize that he is not in a boyfriend relationship with masseuses, just as men in strip clubs are not, no matter how friendly the girls may appear to be.
I hope he has learned to keep his massages in the team facility, where he has protection from entrapment but also no ambiguous moments between himself and the massage professionals caring for him after taking a beating as an NFL QB.
Son, the NFL is in a tough spot with Watson. With the #Woke movement, to just sweep the accusations under the rug and act like it never happened does not fit with the narrative they’ve been supporting. Watson probably gets 4-6 weeks suspension and teams will probably still trade for him. I just can’t see the price being what the Texans originally wanted.
I don’t see where Tampa can trade for Watson with all their picks being toward the bottom of every round and no extra picks. The Colts have no 1st round pick and don’t pick until #42. Seattle has more to offer than those 2 teams unless Tampa throws in a top player like Vita Vea.
Even after it all came out Houston stuck to asking for four firsts or three first and two seconds, etc. If they stick to that future years have to be involved. Players could be part of it as well.
Stanger, the way McDaniel explained the racial question made me like him even more. Without being disrespectful he basically tried to say how silly it all is.
BLM started all of this racial divide in a time when black people and other minorities have prospered like never before. Because of a few bad apples, let’s broad stroke the entire nation as racist.
Now Brian Flores is rolling with that and he should be ashamed of himself. Maybe it was about your attitude Brian, and not the color of your skin.
Like McDaniel’s response as well. What it should be. But is a complex issue about more than BLM. Lots of white racists out there as well.
But above all glad to learn that Flores will have to explain why the racist Dolphins hired a guy with a black father as his replacement.
We all know there are racists and they’re not all white either. I’m personally tired of being lumped in under the “white people” tag because of the pigment of my skin. It’s fuckin ignorant.
And I’ve met some black people who hate being lumped in with BLM.
Exactly!
M13, DAX dropped a new one today. About his past issued with alcoholism.
Singing, not rapping.
My second one before taking my nap.
OUTSTANDING song!!! Thank you for sharing, BBMike!
Do you really have to pay a slightly above average DE $15M/year in the NFL these days? My God. I’d say no thanks.
Randy, the market is no longer $5-8M per year for every player. LOL
Ogbah makes an impact and is a well rounded DE/Edge player. I think he’s better than both of the guys listed below.
Olivier Vernon signed a 5 year $85M deal in 2016 with the Giants.
Trey Flowers signed a 5 year $90M deal in 2019 with the Lions.
I know those were both bad contracts but the NFL is a commodity business as in who’s available. It is what it is. At least our team knows Ogbah very well.
Tim,
I don’t pay much attention to the money end of things. I guess I thought Ogbah would cost about $12M a year. $15+ seems like a fleecing! I like Ogbah but my goodness. I think a lot of these FA deals end up being bad decisions. Oh well, it ain’t my money, dammit. Lol
QBs are being paid $50M per. Then there are the guys that go get them.
Oh AJ had the most passes defended of any Dblineman this season. By more than 25% margin
I ducking hate IPhone
OGBAH
LOL
Ogbah is in his prime and fits our defense. He plays mostly left side like Cam Wake did but he’s a bigger player. He plays hand in the ground, standing up and was also used on the right side and inside. If I’m GM I’m re-signing him. He’s earned his payday.
His two seasons with us he has 18 sacks, 45 QB hits, 17PD, 4FF, 2FR and 83 total tackles.
Thank you, Mike E!
Rock,
See, that’s exactly one of the things that really sounds good but isn’t. Sure, Ogbah knocked down a lot of passes. Why? Because he doesn’t get consistent, meaningful pressure on the QB….and he’s got long arms. Lots of knocked down passes from DL are because guys got stalled on their rush and jumped up to try to knock down a throw. That’s great. It’s what you’re coached to do. But, it’s more a function of a pass rush that didn’t get there than a great play. I have no problem with guys knocking down passes. It’s a good play. But, I evaluate a DE on whether or not he sacks or disrupts the QB first and foremost. Knocking down passes is down the list a ways. I really could care less how many passes they knocked down.
***
I would bet you a million dollars that Aaron Donald probably has about 25 PD in his whole career. Is he a bad player? No, he simply finishes his rushes and isn’t in position to knock down a bunch of throws.
You never think anyone is good. LOL
Pay the man, he is a player.
I LOVE Pat Benatar!!! Why is she not yet in the “Rock-n-Roll HOF”?
Because the HOF is a doofuss organization that has no clue. Her guitar player is also her husband and a great musician and producer who is behind the scenes on many popular songs.
Critics bashed Led Zeppelin back in the day and they ruled the world during their run from 68-80. That’s all you need to know. 😉
Tim,
And you always think everyone is better than they are! It’s our Ying and Yang thing, man. Lol
***
And I like plenty of players! Just not too many on our team over the past 30 years, unfortunately. Sadly, I think I’ve been pretty accurate. I really think that unless Phillips turns into a beast we really need to continue improving our edge pieces, or we ain’t gonna have a shot in hell of competing for championships. Getting pressure on these QBs these days with everything favoring offenses has become even more important than ever. If you can’t do it at a high level,….with talent, scheme or both…you’re fucked. Simple as that. This defense, as good as it has been the last couple years, still gives up way too many big plays at bad times. Lack of pressure contributes to that.
All true. Ogbah is the real deal though. If you’re waiting for LT and RW then okay. LOL

I don’t see where Tampa can trade for Watson with all their picks being toward the bottom of every round and no extra picks. The Colts have no 1st round pick and don’t pick until #42. Seattle has more to offer than those 2 teams unless Tampa throws in a top player like Vita Vea.
—————
I was listening to Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller on NFL Radio and they were very emphatic about Watson to Tampa but it was going to take several players restructuring their contracts. However they seemed to believe the ability to do so is there
A one off show that was once a time in rock history. These guys are in their 60’s trying to recreate the music they did back in the 70’s when they were young bucks. The drummer is the son (Jason) of their dearly departed drummer John Henry Bonham aka “Bonzo”. His death ended the band in 1980. They gave the world one last time in 2007.
LOL @ Naples, Son and M13
What I’d love to do is if he (Florio) wins I have to badmouth the Dolphins weekly on the blog. If I win he has to only say good things about the Dolphins, he can’t have any negative stories. That would be awesome!
Do it.
We’d have feel good fluff pieces about the Dolphins from Pro Football Talk for a year before he changed to insulting the Marlins.
I understand what Randy is saying, both about the money and preferring sacks, but
A pass knocked down at the LOS is a great thing two ways.
One it makes the QB and the OL think about it, and anything that confuses or distracts or delays the offense helps more bad offensive plays happen.
Plus, good QBs complete about 2/3 of their passes and good WRs catch a very high percentage as well, so if that knocked down throw had gotten out, there is a 2 to 1 probability that it would have been a completed pass and therefore a gain of yardage, a first down, or a TD.
Even the best sack artists in the NFL barely get one per game for a loss of a few yards plus a busted play and sometimes a FF. So Sacks are awesomer. But rare.
A PD at the LOS is a guaranteed incompletion the DBs don’t have to make downfield.
Incomplete passes and no gains don’t scream big plays but someone caused them. It’s not always a stat but it changes the course of the game.
I really hope we hear soon the Dolphins are working on re-signing Ogbah. As fans we kind of act like Phillips doesn’t exist. That guy could end up being a T.J. Watt type player. You heard it here first… unless you said it before me. LOL
If Phillips does end up that good, I have no doubt Omar will have said it 1st, lol.
Lovely day here in WV. Sunny and 70. Forecast is I’ll wake up to 6-10 inches of snow in the morning. 😭
It says it’s going down to 21 in Charlotte Saturday night.
That’s COLD.
Stay safe, Herd.
Randy I get what you’re saying but a bad past is not a field play in my opinion it’s a plus we killed a down often on third down. As good as a sack if they punt. Here is an article about him from another team perspective
https://dawgpounddaily.com/2022/03/11/cleveland-browns-reunion-emmanuel-ogbah/?utm_source=google-newsstand&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=google-newsstand
It’s funny. Dolphins fans who want Watson are losing their minds, saying they said he was innocent and we didn’t go after him. I don’t know the facts of the case and odds are we never will but bad people get away with shit. He could have paid these people off to have charges dropped. Trump did that, anyone think Trump is a good guy?
Could not agree more buddy!!!
Obviously smarter than Watson because he’ll still have to pay. It’s crazy that Trump only had a few say that but with 22, Watson is innocent. Cracks me up but Trump is definitely no saint and not a very good hubby.
I was preparing cheddar jalapeno scones and the last song I enjoyed as I put them in the fridge to chill was this one. I said to myself, it’s Friday night music, I’ll play this one for my buddy Bookman. 🙂
You are awesome!!
Thanks Cav!!
🍻
Sounds like a strong bargaining stance. lol
nothing like tipping your hand… also shows how low of an opinion they have of him and they know him really well … I’d pass on that guy.
With all the talent at WR there is in the draft, why pay big bucks for a malcontent?
These 4 are setting there when we pick at #29
Who are you taking?
Tyler Linderbaum OC Iowa
Nakobe Dean LB Georgia
Kenneth Walker III RB Michigan State
Treylon Burks WR Arkansas
Linderbaum without question. That position has been unsettled since Pouncey left.
He’s the least likely to be there.
But I agree
We don’t get any other choices? Fine, I’ll take her.
if she’s still there at 29, I’d take her. It’s BPA, though, not a position of need, so still rather a ILB..
WY
I think you have to add Zion Johnson, Jahan Dotson and Jameson Williams to that list
If you add those 3 I’d probably still go Linderbaum.
But Jamison would make me pause and think
I kind of like this one?
29.Drake London WR USC
50.Breece Hall RB Iowa State
101.Damone Clark LB LSU
120.Jeffrey Gunter EDGE Coastal Carolina
124.Calvin Austin III WR Memphis
158.Dawson Deaton OC Texas Tech
199.Bamidele Olaseni OT Utah
222.Matt Araiza P San Diego State
That’s a good drafts
I don’t want to play the waiting game this offseason!
Especially on the OL!!!!!!!!!
And doesn’t “likely to be released” make a trade difficult unless Collins is willing to restructure for less money. Unless he is worth the money of course. He is under contract till 2024.
Wyo, out of those four I would have the highest grade on Dean. If you’re picking need then at this point it depends on next week. If we get Wagner and Jensen and Tomlinson I probably want Walker.
excellent idea
https://www.first-pick.com/NFL/DraftGame.aspx
Got the draft order correct now
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 29: Drake London, WR, USC (A+)
Round 2 Pick 18: Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State (A)
Round 3 Pick 37 (COMP): Brandon Smith, ILB/OLB, Penn State (A+)
Round 4 Pick 16: Khalil Shakir, WR, Boise State (A+)
Round 4 Pick 20: Rasheed Walker, OT, Penn State (A+)
Round 5 Pick 15: Colin Newell, C/OG, Iowa State (A+)
Round 6 Pick 20: Junior Fehoko, DE/OLB, San Jose State (A+)
Round 7 Pick 3: Matt Araiza, P, San Diego State (A+)
Matt Araiza in the 7th? Thats an A++++++++++++++++++++
You do realize he’s the 2nd rated punter!
Jake Camarda, P Georgia is #1
I didn’t realize it at al, but have watched the vid on Araiza and know he lead his team in special team tackles. We get him and I buy the jersey.
But as Naples pointed out it just depends on who you ask!
2 more days til tamper time, tamper time, tamper time
2 more days til tamper time
Silver Shamrock
I’m just really not sold on Zion Johnson. He seems to not have enough aggression or pop to his game for the NFL.
And the BC center Lindstrom (SP?) is of no help to us at all.
https://www.drafttek.com/2022-NFL-Draft-Position-Rankings/Top-College-Punters-2022-NFL-Draft.asp
That site has Araiza first and Camarda 6th best punter, not even a draftable grade.
Can’t go there at work!
Must have betting on it
https://www.nfl.com/combine/tracker/participants/spec/all-colleges/
This site has Araiza first and Camarda 3rd best, again with a non-draftable “average special teamer” grade
Cooper for a. 4th. I do that in a heartbeat
Are we at the point where we need to pay $20 mil for a wideout, especially in a run-heavy O that doesn’t do much 3 WR sets? Thought ponying up $11 mil for Gesicki meant we wouldn’t go that way.
Stanger is right- he’s going to command too much money.

Not sure if will watch the whole 44 minutes, but the first guess Ian Bremmer is brilliant yet puts it out understandably.
agreed
I had to watch it in 3 sittings, but this is one of the top things to happen in my life, so …
I ended up watching the whole thing. Very worthwhile. Not just Bremmer who was smart. The lady on the last panel made we want to explore getting a fund or ETF that concentrates in high dividend yield stocks.
We are going to have to extend him sooner rather than later.
